After reading reviews we headed out to have lunch. Walked in and if it had been up to me I would have walked back out! The others were willing to stay so I sat down at the counter only to be told I was at the wrong spot. Hubby ordered a kraut dog and cheese fries, I got brave and ordered a cheese dog and fries . What showed up was a half burnt hot dog on a dried out bun with a glob of something white on it. Turned out the white glob was a slice of "cheese" that was slopped on the hot dog to hide the over cooked spot. I told my husband I was not eating it and left it there. I ordered Iced tea and was given a plastic bottle of tea, asked for ice and was told there would be a charge. Waitress kept saying "woo, I really do feel crappy, I should go home". There was some man there in the corner staring and the second I pushed the hotdog away he came and mumbled something and stood there by the plate. We bailed out of there as soon as we could. Gross, would never go there again

Sadly, this is one of the last REAL hot dog joints in the Harrisburg area. But fortunately, it upholds the tradition one is looking for in a hot dog joint. The place is a dive in an unsavory part of town, that's true. But the chili dogs are very good and the fries are also good, but only if you ask for them extra crispy. They use a decent hot dog, the chili sauce is quite good, and the onions don't have the bitter taste that chopped onions can have. The soups are amazingly good. Breakfast here is great (available any time). The best part is the staff: friendly, prompt service. Reasonable prices. I don't know how they can hang on, considering the area and the fact there is a chain burger joint across the parking lot.It must be us loyal customers who keep them in business.

A total dive, but that's what you want out of a greasy spoon. In a strip mall. In true contrary form I got a burger from the hot dog king but it didn't disappoint. I sampled my bf's chili dog which was also good. The milkshakes may give you an aneurysm they're so thick, but if you order it with the meal and give it a good stir it settles enough to make for a good dessert drink. Sights includes: vintage soda-fountain decor, one man in a throwback Ron Jaworski jersey, another in a Canadian tuxedo (denim from head to toe), a whole family in partial camo, and dense signage honoring the current republican governor.

My husband talked me into going inside because it isn't in the best area of town and I'm glad he did. He ordered the Jimmy Special and loved it. The server suggested pancakes and they were delish. The server and cooks knew almost everyone that came in. It had a very friendly feel. I would go back and trust me... That says a lot coming from me.

Jimmy's is a spot to get lunch at if you're in uptown harrisburg. They have subs, dogs and breakfast. I got a chili dog and a cheese dog. (1.90 each) and some fries (1.90) The food was okay, it didnt take long to get it ready. The restaurant itself has barstools and a curved bar seating area. a few mirrors and framed hot dog puzzles. It was okay, i just thought the prices were a little high, and the food just "ok".

Yum yum yum! Best chili cheese dogs in Harrisburg. Fridays they have great clam chowder too!
