Not sure why all the bad reviews. I am a seasoned traveler eating out often and found this place great. The staff is primarily oriental with English as a second language so they don't talk much but there's no reason to believe that they are rude. Food is fresh and hot and continually being refreshed. I came at 7:30 at night expecting the quality to be less since the crowds are less but quite the opposite. Very good food and very good price

I do not know whether it was my ignorance regarding southeast Asian food, but I did not find the food living up to the kind of expectation I had, at least the ones that I had. We had the dinner buffet on a weekday. It was crowded. It was difficult communicating with the staff. Pro -- Options aplenty. No matter what your taste bud, you won't return empty stomached.

Food pretty good, servers friendly, except for hostess who looks like a man, very bad service, was very rude. If not for the food and price, I might return. . She actually was yelling at me, very very rude- bad customer service, someone needs to change her attitude. Not sure if I will return, due to rude hostess

Food cold, selection mislabeled, in friendly service, using name of other chain Buffett... Will not be back!

Ate here last night and became violently ill. Don't waste your money. I rather give birth to a child without drugs than eat here again.

This place deserves better review. Food is fresh and better taste then most other buffet i've been too. Service is good. Location is good near Harrisburg mall. Definitely will come back again.

First time customer. Worst un-caring staff I have ever seen, such as staff cleaning under our table while we where eating, yelling at each other across the restaurant, to food bins empty with many of the common items on the buffet. It was clear the wait staff did not care about the customer experience. The wait staff knocked a plate of food out of my youngest daughter hands when she was not paying attention and did not even apologies or assist to help clean it up. When wanted to complained to manager there was none hand during peak hours. Food that was at the buffet was obvious was there for a long time. For the money we would have been better buying microwave meals from the grocery store. Piss poor will not recommend or be back.

The waiters and waitresses have bad attitude, the owner is even worse! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

For what it's worth, the lunch price is good. I wasn't satisfied fully with the hibachi, and it took them 30 minutes to bring out more fried shrimp. Most of the staff aren't very friendly. I've been to much better restaurants.

I'm going to open a restaurant and call it Commando's Southern Soul Food Sensation. Then I'm only going to serve steamed tofu. Buffet style. Now you have an idea of false advertising. And if you get up from the table not wanting to eat at my falsely named restaurant, I'm going to scream at you in front of other patrons. "WHHAT'Z WRONG? WHY ARE YOU LEAVING???" Then you'll know how it feels to walk in and out of the doors at Hibachi Buffet.

I have eaten here quite a few times and the food is ok. The sushi isn't as good as it used to be. The dim sum is gone. On weeknights the food is lukewarm or overcooked. Weekends are better due to a higher volume of people and faster turnaround times. I'm sitting in the parking lot right now irked by the fact that I'm not as important as the group of people in the next room and was basically told so. It would be ok if this wasn't the first time that I didn't see my waitress the entire time I was here. It is the second. In a row. I know it's a buffet but any other place I go, the waitress introduces herself, clears plates, offers drink refills. This is the second visit in a row that I got none of that. I walked to the register both times after being at my table for a good 35 minutes without a check. Last time I wasn't offered an explanation as to why I had no idea who my waitress was. This time I was told they were busy with a group in another room. I used to be a server and I would never imply that another patron was more worth my time. The bad thing is, the other Chinese buffets in the area have such horrific inspections and multiple violations that this was just about my last hope. If anyone has suggestions, I'll take them. Don't say Hibachi Grill and Buffet on Jonestown Road or Jumbo buffet on Paxton. They're the ones with the horrible inspections.

Begin a first time person. Didn't know if they would seat us or not but somebody sat us and like Old country buffet. Labels are too small.Lot of food. Don't get motz stick they are not fresh. Seafood is good. Pizza uh, rib too small and not enough meet. Desserts are good. I would say it is good place to go I would go back.

Came right when dinner service started. Food was old and cold. Staff was unfriendly. Crab legs came out once in forty five minutes. Not worth the money. Definitely not going back.

For the cost of a single person, this place was A-OK for a buffet. Of the food items I had, it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately I have a slight shellfish allergy - I can't ingest it, but I guess my body can tolerate food cooked in the same area. Anyway, according to the rest of my family, the rest of the food was delicious! The 2 negative things about the buffet were 1. Food labels were too small - could barely read them. 2. Sushi selection was too small... I did like the interior though... much nicer than most buffets.

Probably one of the best Chinese buffets I have ever been too. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Wife enjoyed the crab legs and I enjoyed the bean curd. Great experience.

The food and variety is fine, but I was compelled to write this review due to an extremely unpleasant visit since they refused to offer us their usual 10% discount and even in fact lied straight to our face about it. Normally, we do have a printout of the coupon but there have been visits that they the did not require it (especially since we have been a patron numerous times and even on a first name relationship basis with the management), they took it from the CouponClipper app, or they accepted a competitor's coupon. This time, the management was not available and the girl who was "in charge" decided to refuse giving us the discount even after we laid out the aforementioned facts. She even went as far as to say that they were no longer advertising with CouponClipper which is a blatant lie...the very next week we saw their ad/coupon in the magazine. Suffice to say, we are taking our business to Jumbo Buffet...we have never had service issues, the food offerings are just the same, and they stand behind the discounts they offer.

If you are looking for cheap, mass quantities of MSG, loud TVs broadcasting children shows, then look no further, this is the happening place in Harrisburg. Restaurant is geared for the working class family, whose idea of going out to dinner is a Chinese buffet. Emphasis is on turnover of tables and getting customers in and out.

I didn't like the food. The sushi would've been better if i would've purchased it from a supermarket. The rest of the food had a bland taste. I wouldn't recommend this place. The buffet was $7.95, so if you've got a little bit of money and are hungry come here.. but if you want quality food don't expect it.

I would give it half a star, the best thing was the ice cream. Terrible, will never eat here again.

Though this place was decent when it first opened, it has progressively gone downhill to the point that a best case scenario visit is that the food is just mediocre. At worst, it's terrible, flavorless or the popular items on the buffet are just plain absent. The only reason I can give it a second star is that the decor is fairly nice and they seem to keep it relatively clean, despite their usual clientele, who are typically rude and inconsiderate - often waiting for a pan to be filled so that they can immediately empty it (particularly if they have crab legs). Some of the staff are pleasant enough, though you will be repeatedly reminded by inane signs that say something like "If you take food, I will be happy - if you leave it on the plates, you and I will...". Not exactly sure what that means but it doesn't seem terribly hospitable. I also don't enjoy having to watch my step because otherwise, I'll be run down by an employee who seems to lack spatial awareness. It's kind of interesting that this place refers to hibachi and sushi on the outside as though they are some kind of pan-asian fusion style restaurant - they are clearly not capable of pulling off that feat.. They seem to have some clue about traditional Chinese food - but if your idea of sushi is something other than Starkist tuna wrapped in rice (I'm not kidding!), then you should probably look to one of the many other good alternatives in Harrisburg. Same goes for what is meant to be hibachi.... thinly sliced, poor cuts of partially-frozen meat, mixed together with too much oil doesn't really hold a candle to Benihana or even Tokyo Diner. You'd think that the desserts would be tough to screw up, but you'd be wrong. I assume the assortment of cakes and other pastry-like things they serve come out of a frozen package - they are mostly flavorless and often reminiscent of cardboard in terms of texture. The lone bright spot is that they have traditional ice cream (Hershey's) and that is, once again, mediocre - but hey, the jello and bananas in artificial strawberry sauce, aren't half-bad. If "luke-warm and plenty of it" are not your only criteria in choosing a restaurant, then I'd strongly advise that you skip this place. Blech...

This place was exactly what we needed....a quick bite without long lines and food options. We were in and back to our car in about 30 minutes. There were lots of choices of food items that you could choose from. The only bad experience Tay I had was at the sushi bar where I asked the chef in the back for tongs to pick up the sushi and we waved me away so I just left instead of arguing as I was on time constraints and it just wasn't worth it to me to complain about it at the time. If you want a quick bite without a lot of hassle stop by.

This has been one of the best dining experiences I have had in Harrisburg PA in years! The sheer variety of foods alone give it a good ranking, but the taste makes it 5 stars. Every single thing I ate tonight was fantastic! The only small exception was the Mac&Cheese. It was sweet, which is odd for m&c... The Hibachi was perfect, the crab legs were crack, pull, and eat. This is a must stop every time I'm in Harrisburg now.

I am not sure where to start with this place. So let's take it from the beginning. We were greeted promptly and taken to a table. They were quick to grab a highchair for the kiddo too. But on the walk to the table, our feet stuck to the floor. Ehhh. Then I immediately used the restroom and happened to approach the sinks at the same time as an employee. The employee barely washed her hands, in and out in less than half my time. This should have been our sign to hit the road. I then grabbed some grub. But was confused by the misplaced signage and total lack of signage over some of the different foods. What was labeled some kind of corn cake was actually friend cheese. And a tray of boneless bbq ribs, you know, the fluourescent red meat strips served at such places, sat out at the end of a banquet server, clearly not being maintained at the appropriate temperate. It stayed there our entire meal. The sushi was warm (gulp!). And I lost my shoe as it totally stuck to the floor when I was up getting food. Ehhh again. Overall, the cleanliness was clearly questionable and the food was just so-so.

I hate to rate I two stars, but I have to :( the buffet food was always like warm not much heat left by the time you sat down. The Hibachi is actually half decent! Desserts ok for the areas Chinese food options. The food taste was good but it was too greasy. I do think thing were well cooked just with too much oil and got cold too fast:/ this place used to be great, closer to when it first opened. The staff is half and half.... Sometimes friendly and sometimes really grouchy. As of late this restaurant is really hit or miss.

My boyfriend and I go here ALL the time. I have no complaints about this restaurant. The staff is generally friendly and insures your drink is always filled. The good there is typical Chinese buffet food but it's still really good! They have a pretty wide selection of food so it's great for even picky eaters like me or kids! The dessert bar is great as well.

This past visit was our 3rd or 4th time being here, but the worst. Probably won't go back. I don't expect much from Chinese buffets. We had 5 people plus an infant and they tried seating us at a 4 person table. When we questioned the table choice we were met with attitude from both the server and hostess. They also tried to dictate where we would seat our child?! The employees do nothing but try and walk through you as well. Food was sub par even for a buffet.

Hands down, the sorriest excuse for food in Harrisburg. I can't believe I wasted $13 for 2 bites of food...and believe me, that was all I could stand. The response I got from my complaint from Susan: 'It no our problem you no like our food. I don't know what you problem.' ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Spoke with Susan, who wouldnt divulge the managers name, refused to help and wasn't concerned with my complaint. I will be going above her head for a refund.
