This place is a gem. Went here spontaneously on a Sunday afternoon. They have a huge menu with tons of authentic dishes I've never seen before. I chose something called Chori Pollo. Wow. The cheese sauce and the chorizo were out of this world. Setting is great, with cool Mexican decor, music, and the servers' attire. But best of all, the service was amazing. Our table of 8 had every plate in front of them in literally 7 minutes. Unreal. And everybody loved their meal.

This is my favorite place in the entire world. The staff is so fun and welcoming. I have tried many different things on the menu and love every single dish. I go here at least once a week, sometimes more. Sundays they have a great deal on their margaritas, which not to mention are out of this world !

It's a decent authentic Mexican restaurant. That being said, the staff is not nice. They have never been nice. The servers I've gotten have all either been completely mute, flat out rude, or incredibly weird. (We had a server one time that went behind my friend's chair and started putting his hand on her shoulders. When she asked what he was doing, he ran away.) But anyways, if all you want is a good Mexican fix and you don't really care about any other nonsense, this'll do. It's average, and the food is kind of forgettable, but it'll do. Cozumel's is way better though, so you might as well go there. It's close. Hmm, I'm trying to remember what I've actually had there.. the burritos are good, and so are the quesadillas.

I have only been there once because people have told me that this is the best Mexican restaurant around. I wanted to try it out and see... So far from the truth. We ordered queso as an appetizer and never received it. However, they did have it on our bill. It was not a simple process to get them to take it off either. I ordered something called the Ranchero Chicken (it was chcken smoothered in cheese...). My boyfriend had beef chimichangas. Our server bought out our food and disappeared. We were both finished with our meals before he came back and asked us how the food was or if we need refills. I have to say that my meal was delicious!! BUT, the next day, both my boyfriend and I had very sick stomachs (you know what I mean...)

Food wasn't good. The chips were greasy, the guacamole was really salty and not good. I ordered a chimichanga, which was the worst chimi I have ever had. We used to go here alot several years ago, but the last two times we ate here it was disappointing. It will be a long time before we try again. Just not a good value.

Respectable, if not uninspired Mexican restaurant. The chips weren't as crisp as I would have liked although the salsa was tastefully spicy, perhaps too spicy for the average patron. I got the enchiladas verde - was hoping for some kick in the verde sauce but had to add the picante sauce for that, unfortunately. Good atmosphere, decor and a nice little bar make this worth coming back to but not too soon.

Best Mexican in the area BY FAR. Seriously cannot say enough good things about this place. I thought it was very rude that some people were commenting on here complaining about the "mute staff".... there are a couple people there who clearly don't know much English, but props to them for doing their best and still working hard... I do not think that is rude at all! They obviously aren't going to talk to you if they don't know your language... I'm sure if you were to talk to them in THEIR language they would be very friendly :-) I am a picky eater, and they get my order right EVERY TIME. The food is the best around, and it is always served quickly. I'm not sure what they do to their rice, but I could live off of it... it is so good!! Their margaritas are tasty, and their salsa has a little heat, which is nice. It's crazy because sometimes I go there and I am one of four people there, and then other times you have to wait to be seated... guess it just depends on the times you go.

This is good Mexican eatery. Service is not the best or friendliest however I typically do not get that at any Mexican restaurant. The salsa is very spicy to the point of stinging my mouth. Now the main dishes are very tasty although a little heavy on the sauces. The beef is very tasty and the shredded chocked was tender and tasty. Pricing is ok. Maybe a touch higher than should be. One more thing. If you order take out they charge a quarter per dish?? Weird.

Surprisingly not empty on a monday night. Our server said 4 words the whole time, which does not bother me at all. Drinks? Order? Good? Check? Some people may see that as cold but I see it as straightforward - especially when he was always fast with the drinks and food. All the bad reviews here are from people trying to make finicky orders and getting mad at ESL servers. The chips and food came HOT and fresh. I crave chile rellenos and I'm really happy I could find a place that serves them closer than Margerita's in Mount Pleasant (which is also good). I really like it here. I think we have a new Mexican go-to.

So, If I could give no stars I would. Entering the building we were greeted by a young man who asked by pointing to a table and asking if "that" was ok. We said yes and he stated "have a seat" and followed behind us. The young man asked what we wanted to drink, we responded with we need a minute to decide and water for now would be great. He brought the water and disappeared for 10 minutes, upon returning he asked what we decided to eat, forgetting we might have made our mind up on drinks. We informed the young man what we wished for beverages (margarita & Long Island Iced Tea), another man approached with the margarita (which is your standard premix bar margarita, not like what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant). Then the Long Island Iced Tea arrived, immediately I knew something was wrong. Short glass all dark liquid, I decided to smell above the glass to see what the concoction was. It was a Jack & Coke, certainly a far cry from a Long Island Iced Tea. So reviewing the menu for our dinner a friendly young woman brought chips and salsa to the table, approximately 10 minutes from the last visit to our table, the waiter returned and I informed him there must have been a mistake as the beverage brought was not what I ordered. He promptly took it away apologizing, returning with his phone and a question. He asked me if this was what ingredients were in the drink I was requesting. Now I applaud them for trying to satisfy by all means necessary, however I have always stated if you want the best Long Island, visit a Mexican restaurant as I have always had great results and need to add that I also have never before witnessed a restaurant that was unaware of how one was made let alone asked what was in them. Returning to the table with the new beverage, it was accurate yet small in size (but was really well prepared for never making one before). At this point I'm just kind of at the end of my patience with the dust hanging from fan blades and lights above the table(s) (which I never look at unless I'm forced to wonder what kind of establishment I've walked into). We've decided by this moment were going to go eat somewhere else and dine, but I could not leave until I ordered queso` cheese for the chips. So we decided cheese dip and finish our drinks and we would pay the bill and leave to find another restaurant. Over a hundred times to various Mexican restaurants and never passing on the cheese dip, I would pass every time if this would have been my first experience. Bland is putting it politely, if we weren't convinced before that we needed not to order dinner, we were 100% convinced now. So we did just that, the waiter brought the bill and laid it on the table not saying a word before rushing away. We approached the cash register and another gentleman took the bill and asked how everything was (I politely informed him he really doesn't want to know as I did not really want to embarrass anyone and I really just wanted to pay for the items and go on our way), he asked what did I mean, so I informed the gentleman exactly what I have written here. I however also mentioned that by far out of over a hundred visits to various Mexican restaurants over the country that I had never experienced the service or lack there of and bland food as I had just been presented, that I was really puzzled how the award on the wall (silver choice award 2013) was possible with what I had just experienced. He said sorry and charged my card, only to have our waiter rush over and insist on refunding the charges and apologizing. I won't be revisiting this establishment and recommend that no one test the waters, just find another Mexican food restaurant and hopefully have a great experience.

Ok. You have read my reviews and know that I don't give one star lightly. I would only give one star with a really bad experience. And I had it. Let's start by saying - I am a picky eater of Mexican food. I know what I like and I know what I don't. There are some Mexican restaurants where I go in, order my dinner, scrape the plate clean, and go home happy. I had been here after it first opened and I ordered something - I don't remember even what - but it came with basically fajita style chicken in it. I hate fajitas. I don't like the cooked onions and peppers. So I never order fajitas. And that is okay. That is my thing and I own it. So I took my DH here tonight for his birthday as he loves Mexican food (yeah, I know, we are only one Chile Rellano away from a divorce some days :). So I figured to be safe, I would order a quesadilla. I did not order the quesadilla fajita because, seriously, that would be a disaster. So I ordered a quesadilla rellano with chicken - the description was a flour tortilla with lettuce, tomato, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and chicken. Even thought it didn't say onions and pepper, I said to the waitstaff "does this have onions and peppers in it" knowing that most quesadillas I have had don't - as a matter of fact, we were at our favorite Peruvian restaurant in the strip Saturday night and had quesadillas that were sooooooooo good that we order one every trip there! Of course, he said it did. I asked "can you make it without onions and peppers". He said yes and wrote it down. it came out with diced cooked onions and peppers. So I told him - no, please take it back, I don't want anything. Of course, then, a different older waiter brought a second one out - I guess they figured I would not take issue with him. This quesadilla had long strips of fajita style onions. So I again said please take it back, and do not bring anything else. I was not going to yelp about this. I figured - hell, its their recipe. But when we went to pay for my DH's dinner, I didn't say a word - I just wanted to ring up the order and go find some take out at Chipotle since I was hungry :( The older waiter was at the register and chastised me for ordering a quesadilla that was made with onions and peppers - and then continued to argue with me over my mistake. He kept saying "you should have ordered the appetizer quesadilla, not the dinner one - the dinner one has onions and peppers" even though that is not the description on their menu. So. DH likes their food. I will never return there. Not because of the food being bad, but how they handled it. To me, there were several different - and more effective - ways to handle the issue - a simple "here, we will throw the chicken and cheese on the damn thing even though the chef would find it repulsive" being one. The alternative being "sorry, we can't do that, but perhaps you might prefer to order XYZ which is made without the onions and peppers". So - if you like Mexican food, I am sure this is a great place to eat. But - if you are going to ask for anything different from how they make it, run for places where they respect the customer's request and handle it with grace and professionalism.

Super service, great value, and delicious! I love the guacamole salad, tamales, and enchiladas. This is a great place for lunch because its cheap and super quick. The only disappointment are the margaritas- not good at all. But if you order a chilled shot of tequila be ready for a large serving and great presentation! Also, they have Negra Modelo on tap! The service is quick and willing to take special orders. Just tell them what you want and you'll get it. NOTE: This place gets packed during dinner, be ready to wait 20-30 minutes on a weekend night.

The BEST Mexican place in Greensburg. The service is great, and the food is better! Every meal starts off with a warm basket of tortillas and salsa. My table always gets the cheese dip as well (It is so amazing!). Lunch specials are awesome as well. I will always suggest getting the Pollo con Crema. It is a plate of delicious cheesy goodness. My mouth waters just thinking of it! If you want good mexican with a good atmosphere and reasonable prices, go here!

If I could give the place zero stars I would. This place was awful. I mean awful. The menu has so many items it was difficult to make a decision. The server knew menu items only by the numbers listed. The chips that were served at first were greasy and tasteless. When the food came out so quickly I was pleased. Then I tasted it. First, I could have eaten the meal if I didn't have teeth. There was a puddle of refried beans. The rice and cheese enchalada were dry and tasteless. The meal was very clearly just frozen food that had been microwaved. Thus the reason it was served so quickly. My daughters' meals were equally disappointing. She had ordered the crab taco and it was incredibly dry, the crab was obviously reheated, and the "cheese" was just a puddle of tasteless goop. The taco salad that my younger daughter ordered had the same type of rehydrated meat and tasteless taco chip bowl. It was also mostly toppings with minimal meat. Oh!!! Also, the waiter started picking through her food to make a point about the type of meat that she'd been served. The only good thing was the raspberry tea that came directly from the dispenser!!!! I will not return and I will not recommend this to anyone.

Ill Patron, er, I mean, El Patron is definitely not a good place for authentic Mexican. Go to Cozumel instead. At Cozumel, you'll find amazing service and incredible food. The same cannot be said for El Patron. I'm vegan, so I ordered a bean burrito. The menu stated that the burrito included peppers, beans, meat, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. So, I order it with no meat and no sour cream after I explain to our waiter that I'm vegan and vegans don't eat meat or dairy. Well, our food comes and mine is covered in this white stuff, which the waiter tells me is their signature white cheese sauce. Really? I remind him that I don't eat cheese. He was so apathetic. He didn't apologize, didn't say anything, just stared at me. Then he said, "Well, it comes like that." I politely asked if he could return it for one without cheese. When the food did come, it was terrible. It did not taste nearly as good as the food at Cozumel (their tomatillo sauce is to die for), plus the service was horrible. The waiter did not even apologize. As someone who works in a restaurant myself, I found this unacceptable. If this weren't bad enough, the burrito and salsa were so spicy that I got very sick to my stomach, and couldn't even eat or enjoy my meal because I had to run to the bathroom and then leave the restaurant to sit in my car. I could eat better Mexican food from microwavable meals. Go to Cozumel. You'll save yourself a lot of grief and you'll absolutely love all of the wait staff.

They have pretty good Mexican here. I really like the chips and salsa. My favorite dish is the Chipotle chicken, mixed in this awesome cheese sauce. It's a little pricey, but pretty good food.

I'm a vegan, and it's difficult to eat on the go... but I was quite satisfied with the vegetarian options they had. Though, there were no vegan cheeses, and we went cheese-less, the food was great! I had a potato burrito with sauteed spinach. It was very tasty. The Atmosphere is very nice. Soft pleasant mexican music, very nice servers, and lots of color! Everything was colorful! Which is good if you have kids with you. They're entertained by the tables and chairs alone. Great Prices! Quick Service! And you get your own little bowl for salsa, which is a biggy in my mexican book. ENJOY!

Good service. We decided to try the sampler and were greatly disappointed. Frozen bar food was essentially what it was. Cheese, beef and bean dip was ok but presentation was like a bowl of what my cat leaves on the floor after a big meal. Wings were buffalo style NOT Mexican in the least. If this is a "sample" of what this place has to offer I am going to wish Chi-Chi's was back in business. Some of the other stuff is on par with the multitude of other establishments of this ilk. Nothing that really stands out.

Best Mexican in area. I have had better chips and salsa but the carnitas are amazing. My favorite dish here is the huevos offered at lunch. Super friendly and quick staff.

Really good Mexican food in the area once you place your order the food is fast to be served and very hot however the waiters tend to dissappear after that point we eat here pretty often and have only received the wrong order once over all a nice place to go if you are in the mood for Mexican food

Good Mexican for the area. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Got the Mexican Taquitos, 2 beef taquitos, fried with onions inside and 2 chicken taquitos, fried. The chicken taquitos were a little lacking in flavor, but not bad. The chairs and booths of the restaurant have some really amazing, possibly hand carved mexican themed artwork. Definitely will be back to try some other dishes.

I believe I chose the wrong location for this restaurant because the one next to Walmart in North Versailles just opened up so I guess they aren't listed yet. Oh well.. We had great service here but were a little bummed that it was absolutely empty on a Friday night. Maybe people over there aren't fond of Mexican. IDK. Anyhow, we had the place to ourselves so it was nice and quiet. Our waiter paid very special attention to us. His name was Jamie. He's an authentic Mexican and gave us some of his history while we enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Taco salad which was fabulous. It came loaded with all the toppings. chicken, rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pico de gallo, and guacamole!! I had a side of salsa too which made it nice and saucy. The taco shell was perfectly crisp and light with a buttery flavor that just melted in your mouth. MMMh. It was only 8 bucks and I had to have my hubby help me finish some cause it was so filling. One of the best taco salads I've had for the price!! My hubby ordered the chicken with Mexican sausage. MMMMHHHH!! The chicken was perfectly marinated and tender and the sausage added a spicy meaty kit along with this great cheese sauce they put on it. The sausage was crumbled on top of the chicken and layered so you had two pieces. It came with beans rice and taco shells. They serve soft corn shells which was great because we eat gluten free! The server always made sure our drinks were full and that we had enough napkins and sauce. Basically anything we needed he provided. Now I know that because the place was empty he had time to give us his undivided attention but he surely went out of his way to make us happy. I gave him a nice tip and he even taught us a few Spanish word. I'm hoping to come back here soon but hopefully some of the people will catch on to this place as well. Tango Buenos Tardes!! P.S, They are in the midst of acquiring their liquor license so it may take awhile. Jamie told us a few weeks so hopefully that will happen! he told us they make fresh margarita's daily!!

Love everything about this place. Delicious chips and salsa. The rice is the best I've ever had. Awesome chicken tacos and beans. Every thing comes out very hot and super quick! Wait staff is always very friendly and attentive. We've found ourselves here three times in the past week and a half. We can't get enough. 5 stars for sure!!!

In town do work staying near buy saw this gem on my way to the hotel. Great atmosphere, the staff are great seated really fast, stayed very close until ready to order. They are very friendly. Chips and salsa are as expected the salsa was very tasty with the right amount of heat. Food was served up surprisingly fast. Had a combo that contained an enchilada, burrito with beams and rice also order a side chili rellino. All were good. The sauces are what made the meal. The winners here are the staff and this salsa, the food should meet standards nothing crazy great but very good. I will be returning and recommend for any looking for a cold cerveza and a good fast hot Mexican meal.

Typical "Mexican", not terribly authentic but very delicious! If you are looking for something a bit more authentic ask for their tomatillo salsa. It is very smokey without being smoldering hot. Also be sure to order their chili relleno. It's an actual cheese stuffed poblano pepper breaded and fried then topped with red sauce.

Love this place, eaten there dozens of times and always great food and service. The only complaint of mine is that we never get to many new places in town because we keep coming back here.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
