Terrible! My mom and I were in the area and considering somewhere to stop for drinks and dinner and a local recommended the place. We were harassed by other at the bar who had clearly had too much to drink and the bartender seemed to not care once so ever about the other patrons actions of amount of alcohol they had consumed. We had one drink and booked it out of there ASAP. No one ever asked us if we even wanted to see a menu or not anyways.

I stopped in this place while on my business trip, (it was very close to the hotel I was staying in.) I tried the burger, and I have to admit it was the best burger I've had in a long time. I was very pleased, great atmosphere, I felt very welcome. I will definitely stop next time in town.

A nice atmosphere and the drinks were good. Over the past year and a half I've been here for dinner on 3 separate occasions and I have been unimpressed each time. If you're just looking to have a few drinks and relax it's a great little place, but skip Black Rok if you're looking to have a full meal.

Divey. Probably to be expected since it is a sports bar. A for effort though. The food was pretty tasty and the staff was really sweet. We were seated by the cook since the waitress was busy tending the bar. At 4:30 on a Sunday eve, they were the only two working. Two more girls came on while we were there but I don't know that it necessarily made things run any smoother. More on that later. To start, we ordered the kielbasa with honey (sliced kielbasa marinated with honey and served with sliced cheddar cheese and a pretzel roll - $7). By far, my favorite dish of the entire evening. We also ordered the bbq chicken chips (warm russet chips topped with bbq chicken, nacho cheese, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos & sour cream - $9.95). This dish was a little heavy for my taste but I suppose that's typical for bar fare. The chicken wings come in orders of 6, 12, and 20 pcs and in various sauces. The butter/garlic/parm sauce was very very buttery. Pretty good but I don't think I'd order it again--I fear for my arteries! We split a cook out burger (angus beef burger topped with a quarter pound skinless all beef frank, black rok's homemade bbq baked beans, pepper jack cheese and onion - $9.95). The cheese looked like regular jack cheese with chili flakes sprinkled on.. it was fiery than pepper jack, in my opinion. They also have a limited number of beer on tap and several bottled craft beers available in a refrigerated case to the side of the bar. I didn't opt for any tonight. The selection was a little overwhelming and I'm new to the area and not yet familiar with many of the local brews. I think three stars mostly for issues I had with the burger. I am a believer that too many cooks spoil the broth. The girl that came on shift while we were having our meal prepared our burger but apparently it was sent out before it was done. I don't mind miscommunications but she seemed prepared to let the whole thing go without fixing it. When asked if part of the burger was still missing she simply replied: well, I wasn't done with it yet. I think her indifference toward the situation is why I only feel compelled to give this place three stars. Anyway.. overall, a pretty good meal but, as mentioned, pretty divey and very bar food-ish so if you're trying to eat healthy as your new year's resolution, probably a good idea to pass on this one.

Awesome food and beer selection! The bartender Jen was super friendly and helpful. We got the stuffed banana pepper app special, the mini grilled chicken wraps, and the mushroom burger. Everything was so good! Definitely recommend this place for both food and beer.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Food is amazing. Owner is great. Service could be better, but it's passable. Food takes a while to hit the table, but man is it worth it! Wings are best I've ever had, burgers are great, pizza is amazing, just a great place.

So I'm a little torn about this place seeing that it was our first time here and all. After we seated ourselves the owner "Chuck Taylor" came out to greet us bringing warm seasoned popcorn. We ordered our drinks first, I purchased a delicious curious traveler pumpkin ale to which they added pumpkin sugar to the rim of my glass. It made for a great starter. My husband ordered a root beer, responsible driver. For our meal we ordered house salads with caesar dressing, a half pound of warm and col shrimp and a small pizza. Our salads and my shrimp came fairly quick. I noticed that I had a lot more shrimp than a half a pound. When I asked the waitress about it she said they couldn't do it half and half so she gave me a order a half pound order of both hot and cold shrimp. I thought that was generous. So my husband ordered his pizza and it was taking awhile to get to the table. The owner came out and told us that they accidentally poured ash on his pizza and thats why it was taking so long. He offered us a free beer but he was only drinking soda so it was hardly a compensation. Still its the thought that counts. Once his pizza arrived it smelt great! Once it cooled down i took a bite. I was expecting the crust to be a little lighter but it was awkwardly dense like it was over kneaded. I've only cooled pizza once in my life and this pizza tasted similar to the one I made. I ended paying the full price two separate orders of shrimp at $8.95 an order as opposed the $13.95 it cost for one full pound. Not only did she mess up my order and not tell me, but she charged me full price for it! Tsk Tsk, not to mention they spelled pitcher like "picture" on their specials board. All in all we enjoyed the night and I would give this place another try but I think i'll skip the pizza and shrimp.

Unreal local pub and grub experience, since our first visit has been a staple in our "eating out" plans. The beer selection is top notch. Great service! The pizza on the wood fired oven is a must, try ANY combo, you'll love it. The appetizers are unique and very tasty with a mix of traditional items done in a non traditional way. Try the kielbasa with honey and pretzels /cheddar. Unreal. The burgers are great as well. Decent sized patty on cooked just right! I can't say enough good things about Black Rok Ale house. Keep up the good work folks!

The wings were excellent and the pizza was great. The place is small and quite deceiving from the outside; however once inside you are greeted by friendly and attentive service. It will definitely be a return stop on our next visit to the area.

My roommate and I were on our way somewhere else when we remembered about Black Rok, and decided to give it a try. Overall, it's a pretty good place. They have an uncreative list of beer on tap, but a nice selection of bottled beers, and some nightly drink specials. Our server was very peppy albeit slightly confused; I'm still not clear on the difference between several of the wing sauces, but "hot then sweet" turned out to be pretty good. The boneless wings were good, if not the best I've ever had. The pizza was on the greasy side, but had good crust and plentiful toppings. At $13 for a very generous six-slice, it's a good deal. Some of the sandwiches sounded pretty good-- I might try that next time. I'm not sure if this is a destination place, but I'm sure I'll be back sometime when I'm craving a pizza and beer.

Went here while on business in the Greensburg area. Very local feel and is a small family owned bar and grill that specializes in pizza and burgers. I've been here twice and got the pizza both times. The service is a little slow because there is usually only one or two people working the bar and the tables. The pizza is solid and the fried cheese ball appetizer is legit. They usually have 4-5 beer options on tap with one or two being in the craft category. Overall ok place to eat because the prices are good..its worth a try.

I was so excited to try this place since reading such great reviews. I can't believe how disappointed I was. We were the only table sat. There were a few bar patrons but one two tickets up in the kitchen and we waited over 30 minutes for our food. My husbands burger was bland, my daughters ribs were not even hot. The ham sandwich and the potatoes were good but the service was so horrible that I will never go back. The bartender who was also our waitress was on the phone chatting and I had to walk up to her to ask for the check.

Always passed it on route 30 and been dying to try it. Got there. Place was a nice set up, had dogfish 90 min and they served it in a frosted mason jar. Food was excellent. I got the rok-the-burger it's a burger with fries and cole slaw on it ($8.95) cheap and good. I thought it was one of the best burgers locally. Fiancée got the buffalo chicken sandwich, but only complained about putting too much blue cheese on it. For both sandwiches and 2 beers bill came to 30 bucks!!! The pizza looked awesome and def gonna go back again to try it!!!! Def a good time if your looking for a small good burger/pizza joint

Tried this place when it opened and have been going ever since. The best burgers around (better tasting than Burgatory). Chips are great. Anything Coal fired is wonderful. Coal fired pizza is awesome.

I'm the type of person who won't judge a place based on a single dish, therefore over the past few months and numerous visits to the very cozy and friendly atmosphered Black Rok Ale House, I've tried many different creations. I must say that I have yet to be even slightly disappointed. From the kielbasa appetizer to my favorite burger, the Brunch Burger(pure genius of putting a runny fried egg on a already heavenly burger). The Italian hoagie doesnt have chipped ham, but a big slab of actual ham! I swear this sandwich weighs two pounds!! Pizza that is legendary from the unique crust and perfected sauces(I recommend the spicy), to the freshest toppings. Its unbeatable. The hand carved and beer battered fries are the best you'll ever have. Very reasonble prices on drinks and craft beers. Don't come here just for the eats and drinks, but also for the atmosphere. Everyone is treated as family. Very personal and professional. I don't know why I would ever go anywhere else.
