Good bbq! I love dupporting my local veterans as well. My favorite was the mac and cheese it was so good! I also had the 3 baked beans it was something new but surprisingly delicious! The corn bead is also amazing unlike any i have had. Its about time we have a good bbq place around here! So the chef just gave us some of the dry wings to try. They are the best i have ever had ever! And i say that on a full stomach. GET THE DRY RUB WINGS!

PHENOMENAL. this place came recommended by my instructor while I was in exton for training. I'm so glad he recommended it. I'm quite fond of good barbeque. And sadly living near Harrisburg, there aren't any good BBQ joints around. This place exceeded my expectations, both in food and service. I found the service exceptional, they were friendly. Had a very energetic and wholesome feel to it. Very informative. Helped me with all the selections as it was my first time. We struck up a conversation while I waited for my food.(which wasn't very long) but the employee had nothing but good things to say about the place and owners. That made me more excited to try the food. (I got it to go.) I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich with a vinegar based sauce. And a pulled pork with a hickory based sauce. My goodness. I don't know if I've ever had BBQ that good. Both sandwiches were amazing. The sauces were delicious and complimented each sandwich perfectly. (They're not small sandwiches either ) I love a vinegar based BBQ sauce, and have tried a couple over the years. But I think this is the best sauce I've ever had. I can not recommend this place enough! If you want Good BBQ in PA. Definitely try this amazing establishment. AMAZING!

Let me tell you, I recommend this place if you want championship style que. The home made sauces area great. The owner is a French chef and a culinary educated chef. The wife and I had the pulled pork sandwich and we tried all of the sauces. I love three of them and the other were good to. The original had a great tang at the end, the Chipotle great some with a punch of mild heat and the hickory just punched up the the smoke. The pork was tender and most and the sprinkled seasoning just have the meal that extra you want on a pulled pork sandwich. The great thing is it wasn't over smoke and the smoke have it the extra sweetness. Again you got to try this place.

Typically, my reviews focus on the "experience" but with Corporal Dee's it's all about the food since I do nothing but take-out from here. I love the fact that they share their daily specials on Facebook so check them out! Here are more great things about Corporal Dee's: * They are very hospitable. Oftentimes when I'm waiting for my order, the friendly counter guy will offer a sampling of their soup which by the way are all delicious! * It's all about the flavor! These guys offer specials you don't often run into elsewhere. Spaghetti with brisket sauce is very good, as well as their burgers that will leave your cardiologist cringing. Also, their fries use sea salt which is different from the norm. * Their portions (mostly) can satisfy even the hungriest folks! I'm still full from the last time I had their burger and fries special! I only wish they had more ample seating. Then again, why change something that works so well!

Ordered a brisket sandwich and the staff didn't seem to know much about the cut. Was told they don't separate point/flat except "during competition" and brisket was pre-sliced and soaking in au jus. Having just returned from an extended stay in TX and doing the Lockhart/Luling/Rudy's/Mikeska's/Bill Miller's/Praseks/Novasads shuffle, perhaps my expectations were a bit high. Give them a try. Perhaps your experience will be better.

The Corporal has some of the best BBQ in the area. They're constantly updated their facebook page with daily specials; and the owner and his wife, are some of the most generous and caring people you'll ever meet in the industry. (no pun intended, but I'll take the points) The food is very consistent, but at a certain point it seemed like the sauce recipe changed. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something started to taste differently. The mac-n-cheese is very unique, but flavored quite well. I recommend it highly. The Green Beans are usually very good, as he uses his own specific rub as a seasoning. I suggest asking them to cook the beans well done. I wasn't a big fan of the ribs, as I'm a baby back kind of guy. I do enjoy the pulled pork and the wings (no sauce) are actually quite good. Support local kids!

Ordered 3 different sandwhiches-pork, chicken and brisket- all were very good. Great take out place and nice to have some variety in the exton area. Not sure I understand the low reviews. Very nice staff- offered me some chili while I waited

I am aware that BBQ is a religious pursuit for many, but I'm not quite so zealous. I do, however, appreciate good food and so I've been pleased to visit the Corporal on several occasions. The facility is tiny, seating perhaps 10 in a pinch. So it's very much a takeout place. The menu is traditional, with an array of pork, chicken and beef. (This is not a vegan-friendly location.) there is always a special or two with considering. And, while I do not consider this restaurant to be inexpensive, decent value can be had. I am especially fond of the brisket, which is in my view far superior to the pork or chicken. And the Jalapeño cornbread is worthy of mention. Good BBQ, recommended.

    (4) ~ very good overall food & service. It's primarily set-up for Take-out, but there is a Table(6 person) and (4) Bar stools along the wall for those who want to chow down right there;) It's located in the back of the strip mall. And yes, they take Credit Cards. MY MENU: * 1/2 rack (St. Louis) Ribs = (4) very good, mainly b/k they are meatier than baby backs;) * Dry Rub = (3.5) good...had an Asian Flavor Profile... SAUCES: * Hickory Sauce = (4) very good * Drill Sergeant(Hot) Sauce = (4) very good...kinda like a sriracha sauce * Vinegar Sauce = (3.5) good * Chipotle Sauce = (3) ok * Corporal Dee Original Sauce = (3) ok SIDES: * Mac-n-Cheese = (4.5) Very Good! Really liked the Green Pepper Flakes;) * Corn Bread Muffin = (3) ok DESSERTS: * Chocolate Chip Cookies = (3) ok DRINKS: * Sweet Tea = (4) very good

The Corporal is a welcome addition to the culinary wasteland known as Exton. Had the two meat platter (brisket and sausage) and three ribs. Good sized portions of both the brisket and sausage. The brisket wasn't as flavorful as I'd had hoped but the sausage was super juicy and really made up for it. I found the ribs a bit too small for my liking but their flavor was the best of the three meats I sampled. For sides I had the macaroni and cheese which was freakin' awesome with cheesiness and the baked beans that I really can't recall much about. Cornbread was amazing. Easily one of the best I've ever had. I've had cornbread spiked with jalapenos before but never with pork shreddings. Tried all three sauces (vinegar, hickory, and chipotle). Chipotle was my fave. It was super flavorful. Service was friendly, enthusiastic, and informative. I'll definitely be back. Welcome to Exton, Corporal Dee. I wish you much success!

Good BBQ. Not my favorite sauces, but it is a big plus that you can buy their brisket by the pound or half-pound. Great for pick-up on the way home from work for baked potatoes at home...

Okay BBQ. I am a bit of a BBQ snob, so you may want to add a star to my rating. Food was okay - right in the middle for taste. Freshly made to order with a real smokehouse smell. Coleslaw could be chopped a little more with a little more dressing. Would suggest toning down on the sugar a notch or two in the tea. Staff was real nice and went out way to make us feel at home. Still looking for great BBQ in this area....

Being from the South, I have somewhat an idea of what good BBQ is. We tried the chicken and pulled pork on buns with BBQ sauce. The chicken was chopped too fine but the pork had a nice texture. Neither had a lot of flavor but pork was better than chicken. Original sauce tasted rather bland, similar to store bought, but hickory was hotter with a smokey flavor. Buns are big but nice when warm.

Do not walk, RUN! Absolutely incredible BBQ. Go figure, Exton, PA. From the brisket to the ribs to the homemade beans and coleslaw. This is so much better than you're going to find anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and ignore the other reviews on this page. Great ribs and an excellent find on a recent trip to the Philadelphia area. Best wishes to the owners and continued success. This one's a keeper!

This place has great sized chicken wings, but no seasoning. The pulled pork seemed bland and watery. I did enjoy the sauces.

This ranks among the worst BBQ I've ever had. They say that the brisket is smoked for 14 hours but it had very little smoky taste. Same for the ribs. We tried all of the sauces and didn't like any of them. The best thing they had was the mac and cheese which we chose along with the beans as sides. The sides were very small as well.

I recently went here for a brisket sandwich. A very nice sandwich with a lot of meat on it. The brisket was excellent. I did get a side of their cole slaw which was not very good. I would go back for the brisket.

I really wanted to like this place as we love BBQ and it's really close. We ordered 1/2 rack ribs and found them to be fatty and quite expensive. The sides were SO small and really not that good. We had to throw out our corn bread because it was so dry and lacked flavor. One of our meals came with a soda which was 80% ice and we finished it up before our food was ready so I asked for a little more and was told it would cost $1.50. I know everyone has to make $ but seriously that is a bit ridiculous. We did really like the vinegar based BBQ sauce. They offer kids meals which come with a drink but only have fountain soda as an option. I would have much preferred milk or a juice option.

My husband and I were looking for a place with good wet brisket the guy said yes they had wet brisket. I don't think they know what wet brisket is. The brisket was dry you have to put one of their sauces on to make it wet, that is NOT what wet - moist brisket is. They need to go to Texas and find out what moist brisket really is.
