Fantastic! My friend told me I needed to try Green Street Grille a week or so ago and I've finally made it. I had a cup of chili and the hot pastrami wrap, both were exceptional. The pastrami was excellent, the best I've had in the area, the chili was awesome, and even the macaroni salad on the side was different and great. The place is clean and has a mellow atmosphere. I will definitely be back soon!

Man, oh man!! Same menu as Market Street Grill (WC) with same great service, but more seats and plenty of free parking????? How could you go wrong? Great for breakfast, good for lunch. Interesting & tasty specials, but seldom get one because so much great stuff on the regular menu. Bennys are the best. C-Mac Benny with scrapple and covered with andouille gravy (just awesome!) is tough to beat anywhere at any price. Good omelets, nice hash browns, delicious wraps (breakfast & lunch types), good fresh coffee and excellent service! How could you go wrong? One warning. Items that come with toast only come with one piece. They'll bring two if you ask. A bit odd, but seldom get anything with toast so no big for me.

Great service! Everyone was friendly. All the employees were helpful and helped each other. Food was delicious. The Telky was amazing! Omelette was great. Coffee was good and in a great sized mug that didn't need to keep being refilled. Service was quick and the value of what you pay for was excellent. Highly recommended!!

New owners so maybe they are working out the kinks yet with the menu. My food was just ok, nothing to rave about. The atmosphere was pretty charming, though and our waiter was friendly, accommodating and attentive.

Nice little lunch spot. We've always enjoyed market st. and his new venture doesn't disappoint.

In fairness to Green Street Grille, a comparison to the former Blue Cafe is unfair. Blue Cafe was a great place to grab lunch-fast; they pretty much nailed the food, but they seemed to be less dedicated to being open when people wanted to eat. Nudy's is a more apt comparison here. What GSG has going for it are friendly staff and reasonable prices. This is basic blocking-and-tackling breakfast and lunch fare. We had a minor topping malfunction on a chicken salad sandwich, which was promptly retrofitted with lettuce and tomato. We'll be back. It had a positive vibe and the food was just fine.

I drive by this place every day to work and I'm so glad I finally went in for lunch. I love the atmosphere - very hip exposed ceiling, large oversized windows, very industrial looking. The service is fantastic - our waiter was very attentive and even sprinted when we asked for extra napkins. The food was delicious - I ordered the vegetable wrap and the pieces inside were chopped nice and small. I'll definitely be going back.

My family and I have been longtime customers of the blue cafe, the restaurant space which is now the green street grill. Came here today after menu change and was very disappointed. Food was ok, service seemed confused and some of the members of staff wandered around not doing much or looking at cell phones. My sister had the waffles and i had toast which were both soggy and obviously had been frozen or left to sit out for a while-our food took forever and I don't think that it was that hard to make-waffles, toast and arrangement of fruit and smoked salmon. sad to see blue cafes menu had been completely discarded-their dishes were unique and yummy and these were bland. Probably not going back again...in my mind it is a waste of money and time. Finally the unique artwork from local downingtown artists had been removed which to me takes away from the specialness of the place and pride in my town. I think well be going to Kelly's in thorndale from now on. Could probably do better defrosting eggo waffles in the microwave for breakfast.

Food is decent. Service is fast and friendly. Wide breakfast menu selection. The eggs Benny with avocado is worth a try (but the avocado is cold). This is one of the better places for breakfast in downingtown. Unfortunately, they use styrofoam for their to-go containers.

I don't really understand the 4 star rating, we had a pretty subpar experience here. Food: Maybe we ordered the wrong things. The eggs and benedicts and sandwiches we saw on other people's plates looked really tasty, but we are more of a pancake/french toast crowd. I ordered the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast with cream cheese filling and it was the epitome of mediocre---a few pieces of cinnamon bread, probably bought in the grocery store, cooked in some eggs, with literally just slices from a block of cream cheese haphazardly laid between them. My family got pancakes, and they were OK (huge, by the way, one is probably enough per person). The scrapple was good, and on the plus side, they give you Sriracha, which the other breakfast places in Downingtown don't do. Service: When we were there, it was unseasonably hot, so there were some condensation issues from the pipes in the ceiling. The first table we were sat at was being dripped on, so we said something and were seated elsewhere. But right after we were moved, they sat another family in the same place. That's kind of bad... Our food was slow to come out, though the servers were nice enough, and gave helpful advice. Atomosphere: They're really going for the trendy, city-esque feel. It's sort of working. With all the other great local breakfast options, we won't be returning.

I have had breakfast or weekend brunch here many times and never been disappointed. I am especially a fan of the pancakes and breakfast burritos. The pancakes strike the balance of good flavor and not overly fluffy and the burritos are all savory.

I was a little ambivalent about coming here because the place before it was mediocre. However I'm definitively happy that I did. I ordered the mainline which is a type of eggs Benedict but instead of an English muffin and ham it was cornbread (I think) and avocado. It was especially delicious and I'm absolutely sure I'll come again.

I am so glad to be introduced to this place. It's low-key and offers tons of delicious food for good prices. Not to mention, the options are unique and plentiful. My boyfriend had been telling me about Green Street Grill for a while, he is from the area so he had been many times before- his friends and him would always get "The Bruno." Finally after hearing multiple stories about how delicious this breakfast wrap was I had to go and try it! Surely, I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. First of all, the staff was energetic and friendly. You could tell that they enjoyed working together and kept the energy in the place positive. Looking over the menu I was really excited, they have so many breakfast/brunch options that I never see anywhere else. I can't wait to go back again to try some of their other original dishes! My boyfriend and I got the Bruno. Before it came out, I just assumed it would be a basic burrito/wrap dish, but boy was I wrong. This was the biggest wrap I have seen in my life!! What was even better was how delicious all the flavors inside of it were. I couldn't eat it all, but it should serve well for leftovers later on today. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It's good for friends, family, and couples. It truly was just all-together a laid back environment.

went for brunch and had the special. Chorizo omelet with avocado and stuff in it, whatever the sauce on top (i think it was cilantro sauce) was great! One of the best omelets i've had. Also had some of the french toast with fresh berries, that was good too.

Hands down, my favorite place for breakfast. We loved Blue, and were disappointed when Patti and Paulie decided to sell it. However, we were thrilled with the new owners. We'd been to their West Chester place and loved the food. The menu is a little unique, with lots of breakfast favorites, along with some quirky selections. My favorite is the Pop Greco, their take on creamed chipped beef. Everything is plentiful, so come hungry. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and it's been fun to see them make all the little changes that make the restaurant theirs. We hope they stay in place for a long, long time.

This is my favorite place to eat in downingtown! The breakfast is awesome and everything is fresh and delicious. The lunch is also great. I highly recommend the Bruno or any omelet. My son ordered the pinky the other day and loved it!

Really crowded for Sunday breakfast, but got a table in 15 minutes. Husband got the Telly, loved it. The andouille sausage gravy is addicting. Still having heartburn this evening. I had the "special benny". poached eggs with pureed cauliflower, spinach and lamb on english muffins. Pretty good, but it was 3 lamb chops, not really fork friendly, but delicious, took 2 of them home for later. Really crowded and noisy, lots of babies. Service was warm and efficient. Some may not be comfortable with the young men wandering out of the kitchen with plates, searching for the right table, but the food was hot, so I can forgive the chaotic delivery system. Hey it's Sunday, relax and enjoy a good inventive menu. Coming back for sure and that says a lot, my husband is usually more than happy to have me cook, so if he is willing to take me out, I'm happy. If it's this place, I'm happier.

Went this morning for breakfast. The atmosphere/decor was nice and the owner (think he was the owner) was really nice. Our waitress and the food on the other hand were not so great. Waitress got my order wrong even though I repeated it to her 4 times, asked if the bagels were fresh, she said yes and they definitely were not. And lastly, our food was just Ok. Not great but not terrible. To top it off, she added up our bill wrong - it was over by $7.00. So we had a bad experience overall. Sadly I was hoping for a new breakfast spot but I guess this won't be it.

This is the sister restaurant to one of my tried and true favorites in West Chester. Since moving to the Exton/Downingtown area, walking into the borough on Sunday's for breakfast is something I've missed the most. Imagine my joy when our friends from Market Street Grill opened in D-Town. The Main Line Benny is still my favorite, but the daily specials are so good, I usually try to convince my hubby to get a special so I can have both! The cook a perfect piece of crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside scrapple. Service is always outstanding! One of our favorite spots!

This has some really good menu items. I really wanted to try the lobster bisque. I enjoyed the cornbread eggs Benedict with avocado. This place has lots of room to eat breakfast, brunch, or lunch. We came in a group of 5 and there was no problem in seating us. I wasn't a huge fan of the eggs Benedict but the egg was poached beautifully. I'll try some other stuff later.

Good food. My server was very young and seemed like she was very eager to end her shift. I felt rushed but the food was good. They give Nudy's cafe a run for their money. A plus for food D plus for service.

Food: 5 stars!! Love their bennies, can't find a better one in the area in my opinion. Their specials are always on-point, with creative combinations. Portions are typically generous. I usually end up with a benedict, the varrenti (smoked salmon and bagel platter), or create my own omelette. Service: 3.5 stars. We started coming to Green Street more than Market St Grill because the Market Street location had gone downhill in service- we could never seem to get refills on coffee, which for a breakfast place, should never happen. Green Street was doing so much better in our books until a few weekends ago when we waited 45 minutes for our food, only to find out the "kitchen never got the order"?! It's usually a 15 minute wait for food and we were only checked on once to see if we had eaten yet- I literally had to walk up to the front and ask about our food, which I've never had to do before, anywhere. We didn't have time to have her take our orders again and had to grab a bite at Wawa instead. I wish a manager would have come over to say something about it so we didn't leave with a sour opinion. We've been hesitant to return ever since, which is a bummer since it was our breakfast go-to place.

One of favorite breakfast spots! Great tasting food and good, friendly and quick service. They tend to get pretty busy on weekend mornings so expect a wait, however they do a good job of turning over tables pretty quickly. We love it!

We love it the food is excellent and the service is always very good. Anytime there's a special occasion and the adults want to sneak away for a quality breakfast this is where we go. We've never had a bad meal.

I am so glad that the owner of Market Street Grill (Kerry) opened this place so close in Downingtown. I no longer have to drive into his spot in West Chester to get a good breakfast because the menu here is the same awesome eats! I can't even begin to tell you how solid this food is every time we go here. The Bruno burrito with the spicy Andouille Sausage gravy is insanely good stuff!!! I literally crave this thing on the weekends for breakfast. Every item my wife and I have ordered has always been so well prepared and fresh. If you are in search of your new breakfast spot in Downingtown, look no further. This is it! ***** 5 Stars for Breakfast *****

Great place for breakfast or brunch. I usually meet a friend here on the weekends for brunch. It gets crowded but I haven't had to wait more than about 15 minutes. It's a pretty small place, bright with lots of natural light. The walls lined with various artwork and mismatched coffee cops give it a quirky but cool and casual atmosphere. I haven't had bad service; in general the servers are pretty laid back but still friendly. Maybe a little too laid back for some people The food is great. Big breakfast menu plus daily specials. I'd recommend any of their omelettes or eggs benedict. They have a bunch of different "bennys" that are served with hash browns. I like the classic with spinach, my friend usually gets the "Pinky" which is made with braised short rib instead of canadian bacon and she loves it. I tried their creamed chipped beef and was not a fan. It's not terrible but it's not like any version I've had before. It's more like a sausage gravy with chipped beef added rather than a traditional recipe. They have lunch here too, but I haven't had anything from their lunch menu. Prices are reasonable though usually ends up being about $15 per person for breakfast including your drink and tip. Oh, and no bar here, so this isn't the place to go if you want a bloody mary or mimosa with your brunch!

So I decided to give this place one more try as the last time I visited was just after it was taken over by new management. Today I had the steak benny, while the wife had the braised short ribs benny. Unfortunately, the eggs were over cooked and not runny. The waitress checked on our breakfast and arranged for new eggs to be sent to the table. The service was excellent - the staff was knowledgeable and courteous. I can't help but compare it to the bennies at the earlier place. Those were much better - the steak bennies had black beans if I'm not mistaken, this was missing in my entree today. All said and done, the food was good so am upping my review to three stars.

Went here for lunch for the first time last week. I was surprised how busy the place was for a weekday and that's probably a good thing. It was very cold out and the place was a bit drafty especially down by the floor. Service was great, staff was attentive with seating and order taking. I had the turkey burger and my colleague had a salad with chicken. Both were prepared very fast and came out hot and well prepared. Looking at the menu the breakfast items seem to be big here. I think I'll have to try something from that portion of the menu soon.

Just like its sister restaurant the Market Street Grill, Green Street Grill has a great selection of food, all well prepared with good service. Having been to both now, I prefer the Green Street Grill has it has a parking lot and the wait isnt as bad. The menu is identical and the service and food are almost as good as the Market Street Grill. A great choice for breakfast/brunch in the area. Highly recommend trying the special Benny of the day!

Enjoyed my mushroom omelet here on an early Sunday morning. It was the two egg option, rather than the three, but it was plenty. It came with home fries, which were pretty good, and one, count 1, slice of toast. There are so many options on the menu that's definitely worth coming back for. Service was the best part. We were one of few patrons but it was stellar.

  • John B.

We experienced shockingly poor service at this restaurant. We were ignored from the moment we walked until we asked for the check (and didn't get it until we called for a manager) and at several key moments in between. This was quite odd as the waitress and other wait staff went to tables on either side of us. The manager was responsive and picked up the check. However, we will never go back. And the food is okay, but certainly not good or even great.

Wow! New menu launched this week (already) and you will be excited to find a wonderful new selection of items sure to please anyone! If you are looking to get in and get out, you may want the drive thru at mcDonalds around the corner for the work going into these new menu items is not fast food dining. Plenty of parking, newly painted atmosphere and some additional wall removals keep me coming back to see what's next. With the new menu, computer glitches are almost unavoidable initially but to see what the Green Street team has created in a short period of time, I have no doubt things will continue to improve and the kinks will work their way out. Check them out!

Even in transition I had a great experience here. Plenty of parking, good food and great service will make this place a home run. Oh yeah, by the way they take credit cards. The Coffee Cup better watch out.
