Great burger, great beer, great service...I found my new sports bar!

Went with 2 friends we all got pastrami burgers, 2 of us wanted medium rare and I wanted medium. When the burgers were done they stayed in the pickup area for 5 minutes before the manager brought them over to us, waitress was too busy talking to people. All three burgers were well done, what the heck! I finished my diet coke waitres never came over for refills. It seems like this place is understaffed and they don't know what they r doing in the kitchen. Waitress looked pissed most of the time. Too bad it could be great place.

Tonight was awesome. This place is great. Usually we get great food good drinks but lousy service. Tonight they were spot on with all.

Had the Frisco Burger again, got it right the first time and got it right last night. Our server has been there 8 years and got it right. Going to try the Sunday buffet next week.

Cool place. If Sports, Video Poker, pool tables, tons of TVs, good food, strong drinks, and fair prices are what you're looking for this is a perfect place for your neighborhood bar. Oh yeah, the owners are super nice too.

Pretty good food. One of my favorite places to shoot pool and watch football games! Great happy hour, nice staff, and lots of games to play.

Skyland is a great place to go on a weekday or a weekend. I enjoy the diversity in age and I always feel comfortable there. Bartenders, for the most part, are welcoming. More attentive if you're at the bar seating and thry tend to neglect the tables which creates a line at the bar. There is one bartender who rocks that place and really does a great job. I should get her name... Let's see, the drinks are good. Used to enjoy the happy hour food but that has (quality wise) really really gone down hill. Their menu is great but again the food is terrible. Last time I was there I thought I'd play it safe and order nachos. I barely ate any. The jalapeños tasted funny and I felt sick. I told the staff which just seemed to shrug it off. Ended up leaving my beer half drank, paid and went home. So glad I did because my tummy started rolling. Ugh. Long night. Anyhoo. I have sworn off all food from there moving forward. I will still keep going to Skyland because it is a good place. Just there is a great deal of improvement that could make them better.

My go to after school spot for good food and a variety of beers on tap. I prefer this place on the weekdays though, because it's really crowded on weekends especially at night.

The only reason I come here is to shoot pool. The food is no different from any other bar food. Every bartender I encounter has a bad attitude and looks pissed off. Not much of a good time

The positives... EXCELLENT food and well-made mixed drinks, (not watered down or mostly juice).... Yeah, I can be a fru-fru drinker ;) Clean and I've never encountered an unfriendly staff member. Easy to give your friends directions, it's very visible on the corner of Troutdale Road and Stark Street! They offer outdoor seating! The negatives...they can be very busy, (can be a good thing too). Parking can be a bit of a pain, especially during events. Some businesses surrounding it bans parking in front of their businesses of course.

I think the best way to describe this place is "consistent". Service is very good, food is very good as are the drinks. And it's great place to go anytime of day or night.

Easy going place with decent food and good libations. We always get the same server and she is pronto with her service as well as very friendly. We try and stay away from your typical greasy burger/fries and they actually have a menu with salads on them. We usually have salmon caesar salad.. with a side of tator tots.. (OK so I cheat a little - what the hell - I'm in a sports bar). We come here for the games only so we have one point of view but that's good enough for us. As some of the reviews stated, this is a mixed crowd some older and some younger. It's more of a divey neighborhood bar yet you never feel like you are in the wrong hood when you sit down with a cold one and the Seahawks on the screen.

Service is horrible if your even lucky to get it. Two thumbs down there. Sat for 15 mins and literally watched others walk in after we got there and they walked right up to them and got their drinks started. That bar sucks and I was once again reminded why I don't eat there. Get better employees who notice two people sitting at a table with no drinks in front of them.

My best friend and I used to go to this bar all of time as she lived fairly close and they made pretty good drinks. I attended last night and boy was the place packed, but I should've known as it took me almost 5 minutes to find a parking spot. I love the diverse crowd that this bar brings, the drinks are nice and tasty, not too strong, but definitely not watered down. My only complaint/suggestion would be is to order at the bar as we ordered from the waitress that came to our table and about 20 minutes later we still hadn't received our drinks so I had to go hunt her down. Found her at the bar stuffing her face. I understand that she was probably hungry and hadn't ate as the place was pretty packed, but take care of your customers first.

I have been here multiple times over the last couple of years. They recently remodeled and things are much cleaner and sharp. They have one of the best happy hour menus in the Troutdale area (cheap and delicious). They offer bar snacks and also have a full restaurant menu. The food was surprisingly good for a bar. Have always been treated very nicely by the staff and served quickly even when it is busy. Mixed drinks are priced well and they have a great selection of beer on tap.

LOL@ yelp.com/biz/skyland-pub… I thought this bar was great with all the elements of a good neighborhood bar. Both older and young folks were having a good time. Service and food were both pretty good. Great SPICY chicken wings. Really hot, more of a drop kick than just kick, but tasty! Burger was decent too. Lots of pool tables that I recall being only 50 cents to play rather than the standard 75 cents. Drinks were cheap! Plenty of TVs for sports viewing. Hip hop on the juke. Overall pretty chill, dope little place in in the T-dale.

Not a bad place at all. I do agree that it's more or a college bar then sports bar. However I can't hold that against them since they are right across the street from Mt Hood CC. I will say that in the beginning I couldn't handle Skyland because of the awful cigarette smoke. Fortunately that isn't a problem anymore because of the recent law that was passed. Anyway, Skyland has a good selection of standard fare beers and the bartenders make pretty decent mixed drinks. Not a real manly drink but I like the Mai Tai's there. Everyone of the staff there is friendly and knows their stuff. I hate going into a bar and having to tell the bartender how to make something. Not a problem here. They have lots of pool tables and Oregon lottery if you like to gamble away your hard earned money. It can get a bit busy on the weekends so watch out.

My husband and I went to Skyland for dinner last night. We had their french dip sandwiches. They were really good. Great service & good food! They have pool tables, an air hockey table and many tv's. Support this locally owned establishment!

If you want to go get hammered then go here. I don't even think they put mixers in the drinks. All around college bar first, sports bar second.

Great all around sports bar now with the recent change in ownership. I cannot tell you how awesome the service is, even on a Friday night! Very friendly owner and staff. Updated the interior with new felt on the 6 pool tables. They've brought in more arcade/video style games; air hockey, baketball, bowling, darts, etc. Also more flat screens leaves you not lacking in finding your team on the screen. Even with the local CC across the street, there are a variety of ages and sexes in the establishment. The burgers are the "bomb-diggity" as is the "JB special". The latter tastes so good it sneaks up on you and can knock you on your feet.

I'm not a big drinker, nor am I a huge sports fan. So why would I be crowing about a sports bar? Baklava! Back in 1990, what is now the Skyland Pub was an empty boarded up building. Then one day it's open, so I go in. The new Greek owners had lined the walls with TV screens showing various sporting events - which like I said, I don't really care about - and their serving beer - which is okay, but not really going to capture my heart - and Gyros - now we're getting closer, but not the cigar - and the family matriarch's home made baklava - oh for the love of God, that's it! That baklava was to die for! I used to drop in, belly up to the bar, and order Baklava. Okay, fast forward to 2013. The Seattle Seahawks are 6 and 1 and it's starting to get exciting. I don't have cable, but rather a antenna on my roof. It's Sunday afternoon and the game is starting but there's the trail end of a tropical storm thrashing my antenna - it's quaking like a mad metronome - and I've got nothing but Salvador Dali on my screen. Then I remember all of those TV's at the Skyland. The Greeks are gone and so is the Baklava. But the Gyros are still there and so is the beer. On a Sunday afternoon the place is packed, but I alway manage to get a beer and a Gyros and table in front of the Seahawks screen. What more can you ask of a sports bar?

I love this place. Iv only been coming here for a couple years but the staff is awesome and you can always get a good conversation going. The atmosphere is good :) from all the pool tables, video poker machines and all the TVs you can definitely be entertained. I am a whiskey drinker and fortunately most of the staff knows that so the service is quick and I love that they remember what I have. There food is AWESOME!! LOVE there sandwhichs. I even brought my mother here and she is such a nit picky eater. She loved it as well!! They serve breakfast too from what iv heard :) andddd best if all this place is so close to where i live. That's a plus for me.

This is a place for the older AND younger crowds. Whoever has the majority of patrons can commence to complain about it being too old or too young. They offer a good variety of grub, mostly sandwiches and burgers but there are also salad entrees and full dinners. I like the Ruben myself. Happy Hour daily until 7 - special are OK but it tends to be pretty busy until 7, we wait until after then if going for dinner ( in case you couldn't tell...we are old LOL but actually been coming here since we were young!) Depending on how busy it is, the service might be a little slow but it is not for a lack of hustling. We have never had bad service...that is for sure. If you do get bad service - complain to management - they respect the patron here. ( My general tip to make any complaint is not to be a jerk about it , it gives you so much more credibility ) Lots of activities - multiple pool tables, 3 golf games, HD buck hunter, shuffle board, air hockey and a free throw cage! My guys really go to town on that free throw cage. Good for groups because they will let you reserve an area in advance.

Best bar in all of Troutdale and Gresham. Very good food and great service. Try the halibut fish sandwich, and tell me where there's a better one and a better price.... Also, the owners, Stacy, and JB, are very nice folks, and have recently really updated the place over the last year or so. Great place to play pool, listen to the juke box, or just chill out and watch some sports. Always great beers on tap too!

I don't mind going to Skyland, but it's not my favorite either. I've gone twice for happy hour. The price is definitely right. However, be warned that the well drinks are advertised as $2.00, but they are actually $2.50 (well SHOTS are $2...adding a mixer adds .50...false advertising much?). Both times I have ordered a well drink (two different occasions), it was SO strong I could barely drink it! Over pouring me thinks... Happy hour food is super cheap, but really greasy. That's not always a bad thing though. The first time I went here I had a HORRID experience with the waitress. My friend and I were ignored most of the time we were there, and she even had the audacity to literally SLAM my credit card on the table when she came back from collecting our bill. However, I emailed the manager and she was super nice and gave me a gift card and assured the problem would be taken care of. That's the only reason I went back again - much better waitress experience the second time!

I'd say it's pretty cool place friendly staff and happy hour is pretty nice cheap drinks and plenty of lotto machines.

Horrible and rude service during the weekday. Food was good. We stopped in to get a bite to eat for lunch. We were pretty much ignored. Never a refill for our bloody mary or iced tea. Never came back to see how everything was. Never got our bill. The waitress stood at the bar talking to her male friend the whole time. We finally had to go to the bar to get our bill. She printed it and pretty much slammed it down on the counter similar to the other comment. You can get lunch anywhere but if you want good food with rude service, come here.

So I have been going to this bar for years because of how close it is to my home. Every time I go there I think the food can't get worse than last time right? Wrong. This place some really bad bar food. If you want something to eat while your there, I would go across the street and grab something from the DQ. Its really that bad.

  • Elsy C.

Walking in I noticed this is an older bar the crowd was defiantly 50 and up somewhere I won't be going back wouldn't have went if I knew it was a bar for old people. So uncomfortable! Not to mention the food was extremely over priced and not good! Don't recommend

LADIES!!! watchout 90% of the guys that are there don't wash their hands after using the restroom. Every time I go here I notice it.

Made a stop here on my 21st, just to have three clowns at the door 'quiz' me on my ID, then tell me I can't come in. Why would I make a fake ID? Really, even if it was fake skyland wouldn't be my first option - BY FAR. Honestly, nothing enticed me about this place, just another stop on the way to several bars - but at the door experience turned me off of here forever. Another typical Gresham bar, but with shitty service. Lost a potential customer and decent business from my friends.

Low key. Friendly staff. Good drinks. Better than just decent food. It may be what some reviewers will say is a college bar, but don't let that sway you if you're in the older bracket. I would say you see every age group here. My friends and I are in our 30s and we fit right in. I've never encountered a problem and I've been going here off and on for years.

Went here last night for a friend's birthday. It was chill. The menu had some unique items, there were lottery games, pool tables, air hockey, a basketball game, and shuffleboard. Lots of TVs all already. The staff was friendly, but our waitress was a little snooty at times. My beer was empty for quite some time before she came back around. Skyland is a good place to go hang out with friends. Good for groups, not as crowded or small as some other places. Good prices.
