My boyfriend and I ordered two gluten-free pizzas. We picked them up as we were staying in a hotel nearby from out of town. I asked for jalapeno and pineapple on top of one of the pizzas and they didn't even bother to put it on there. But I'm sure they still charged us for it. Neither of the pizzas he had very many toppings - they were very skimpily topped. As for the gluten-free crust I think it's the same standard gluten-free frozen cardboard pizza crust that comes at most pizza parlors because they don't want to bother to actually make a gluten-free crust. It also would've been nice if they would have asked us how many plates we wanted. There were four of us eating and we ended up one plate shy. Not a biggie, as we could've asked for the right amount but still... Attention to detail is always a good thing. In all fairness, we just came back from Chicago. So maybe we are spoiled. It's just not a very exciting pizza and the prices are pretty outrageous for what you get. They charge an extra three dollars on top of their already high prices for a 12 inch cardboard gluten-free crust. Not cool. I think if the review would have been based on taste alone, I would have given the place three stars, but the price of the mediocre quality pizza was what really got to me. We would've been better off with Papa John's or some standard chain.

I've stopped in here a couple times and can't wait to go back. Great fire roasted pizza. The service is polite and prompt. I very highly recommend this restaurant.

I really like going here for lunch specials. Especially when they have the ravioli and salad. The pizza is good the calizoni is large and very filling. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is a little odd but the interior is nice.

The owner got back to me promptly and took what I said and has made changes. I appreciate the attention to my feelings and how communication went. The owner is a great guy we have met and spoken before this incident and he was super friendly. I will definitely be back :)

We visited Ciao Pizza late Friday night and it wasn't crowded at all...which usually makes me worry. But we were immediately seated and given menus. The service was great! We were given the focaccia (yummy!) and ordered the Oregon Salad with a Ciao Deluxe Pizza. Everything was delicious! If I didn't live in UT I would come here often!

We love the food here! Some of the best salads, pizza and Italian dishes around! Our favorite thing to do is sit at the bar and watch the chefs at work! Great service too. The people are great. Tell them Todd & Ranelle sent you!

Love this place! Ciao's pizza is piled high with fresh scrumptious ingredients including their homemade smoked spicy sausage and traditional sauces. The pizza crust is crispy, light and airy--perfecto. The staff were attentive and friendly and the owner very gracious.

Tonight we're back for some of the best pizza around! So far, we've had a takeout pizza and dined on a calzone once in house. Both meals were spectacular. The Salumiere pizza is deliciously simple with mozzarella, pepperoni, and thinly sliced salami over their delicately spiced tomato sauce, and then baked to perfection in their wood fire oven. A lot of calzones are heavy in bread and weak in fillings, but not at Ciao! The dough is thin, but not too thin, and filled to the max with cheesy Italian-y goodness! We highly recommend the alfredo calzone. It's FULL of chicken, fresh mozzarella, and whole cloves of roasted garlic - yum! And the service here...superb!

Springfield doesn't have a great reputation for dining experiences, and the area around Gateway Mall is largely a black hole of mediocre chains and substandard family restaurants. This place qualifies as a decent restaurant in the area, maybe the best option if you're on a mall excursion. It's not that easy to see from the main road, but it sits in a little strip in front of Best Buy, about half a mile from the mall, next to a Mexican place. We were there on a Friday evening, and found it only half full. The bartender/manager had to call a waitress from the kitchen to seat us, and she seemed like she would rather chew broken glass than help us. Fortunately we were served by a different waitress with a better attitude. The wine list was small but adequate for a place like this, as was the menu. I went for an artichoke ravioli with red pepper cream sauce, which had loads of vegetal flavor but not a lot of creaminess. DLW had the chicken piccatta special, which was loaded with capers (good) but not lemon (bad). Pasta needs to be served in warm bowls, but ours were room temperature. Salads beforehand were nicely fresh. It's a nice interior, certainly better than you would expect from the outside. Prices are a little high for the experience, but Italian has a price point that allows higher charges. Coming here is strictly a matter of convenience and process of elimination of worse options.

Shrimp and my wife chicken Alfredo were delicious . And the new style bread and the they have now Portuguese sweet bread I bought a loaf to take to our daughters home. And the have a variety of beers on ( local) tap.

We love this pizza restaurant! The staff is extremely welcoming, efficient and friendly. We were there with another couple and one of them asked about a certain beer. The server immediately brought him a sample to try. We ordered the delicious 12 inch Diabola Pizza which was more than enough for the 2 of us. We also ordered the Oregon Salad and asked if we could share 1 order. They kindly brought it in two plates. They are doing some remodeling which will add some more booths. By the time you read this, I suspect it will be completed. Nice atmosphere, great friendly staff, prompt service and some excellent food! We will definitely be back.,

I use to love this place they had the most amazing cheesecake I'd ever had, great pasta and pizza. up until a year ago this place started going downhill; the services and the food theres no love or care that goes into it anymore. i went there a few more times to see if it had gotten any better and it didn't I went to have fettuccine, tomato sauce and shrimp; it was way over spiced they had changed the recipe it made me so sad because; I loved the freshness that the original had before...they ruined it and even the cheesecake it isn't the same, they put in too much crust and it tastes a few days old and bland. I would find another place to get Italian food

  • Jason R.

This place tries too hard, and it shows. I think the service was terrible and the 'snottty' feeling this place so desperately wants doesn't work for a place located right across from a porn shop. If they quit trying so hard to be 'hip and trendy' and just focused on the food I would rate them higher. This is a one and done for me, won't be back.

Very good pizza, lame service. We got seated, and then it took a long time for someone to come offer us a drink. Finally, they did. Later, we placed a food order. When the food arrived, they did not bring utensils (or even napkin). It was a salad-- kind of hard to eat without a fork. After 5 or 6 min of unsuccessfully trying to get the attention of staff (to get a fork), my wife walked to the bar/kitchen area to ask. The waitress then walked by my table, and I mentioned it. Rather than apologize or try to solve the problem, she merely said, "oh, she's getting it". Apparently, customer needs to fend for him/herself. Pretty lame.

Excellent food and service every time I go there. The pizza crust is light and flakey and the toppings are nicely done. The last time I had the veggie calzone......delicious! The beer and wine list, while not being extensive, is excellent.

The service here is amazing. We were greeted quickly and checked on several times. We got our order in pretty quick and the staff was very friendly. This place was lovely! Had a warm, friendly atmosphere and we were seated immediately. The chef, who I also believe is one of the owners, was very attentive and made sure we were properly cared for. I love to support locally owned small businesses and it is even more of a pleasure to be cared for by the owners. I ordered the caprese salad and the Alfredo pizza and both were an excellent end to my day. Would give a five out of five if they had thick crust options for the pizzas! Come check them out, worth the stop.

Happened to be in the area out of necessity and ordered take out pizzas for dinner from here. Although they are not Chicago quality, consensus from are group voted that the pizzas were delicious , tasty, and satisfying! Tough to make a choice but we had the sausage and cartelized onions as well as the bacon and chicken. Both were great. The restaurant looked nice and the waitstaff friendly! The brick oven used to make the pizza was the best selling point!

If you want impeccable service and authentic Italian pizza, this is the place for you. The salads are amazing, the pizza is wood stone baked and is super delicious!! Stuffed mushrooms were a bit clunky in texture, but not too bad. Bread with balsamic and oil was amazing as well!!

We visited on a whim last night and it was a good choice. waitress was super nice but not over imposing. We were served warm bread and personal dipping plates for our oil and vinegar dip. thought this was a nice touch. bread was really tender and yummy too. ordered smoky salmon salad and it was really yummy. pizza was good. chicken was dry and thought husband had a saltier one.

Simply amazing!!! The cooks here are artists! This place is the first brick oven place I have experienced where the cooks knew exactly how to cook with it! They take pride in cooking pizza, calzones, etc with the utmost care! Pasta, salads, and the focaccia bread - amazing!!! Will definitely be back!

The fam and I were really craving some wood fired pizza so we ate at Ciao Pizza. If I was only rating the pizza the overall would have been much higher. First thing, we were virtually ignored by the servers....so were the dirty, empty tables. When we walked in the only spots open to sit were at the bar or at a table that was covered in food. One of the servers offered to clear it up for us, but we preferred not to wait and sat at the bar instead. That table was still dirty when we left at the end of the meal. The servers would take one or two things from it and walk away to leave the rest for 15-20 minutes until coming back for 1 or 2 more things......over 1.5 hours and it was never fully cleaned, the restaurant goers just had to see it during their meals. As for us, after offering to clear up the table for us it took almost 15 minutes before we even received water, with both servers standing at the other end of the bar engaged in what must have been engrossing conversation. Finally we got water, and then were ready to order and waited almost 15 minutes longer watching the pizza chef make other tables' pizzas......at the end of the meal it was more of the same. We had to ask the pizza chef for a to go box because the server never came back to us at the end of the meal. 1 star for service and no tip was left. Now for the pizza.......the restaurant itself was very pretty on the inside with a huge exhibition kitchen with the copper plated wood oven. So beautiful in it's simplicity. Watching the pizza chef in action was like watching a well oiled machine (well, when the ditzy server didn't come behind him and mess with his pizzas or leave the pizza peel in the middle of the oven opening right in his way....). The pizza chef was friendly, and even stopped what he was doing immediately when we needed a to go box and the servers continued to ignore us! The pizza was great! Thin, crispy crust that tasted of wood smoke. The marinara was great, tasting of fresh tomatoes and herbs. We had the "Diavola" which was sauce, cheese, sausage, sauteed onions, and roasted red peppers. We swapped the sausage for Canadian bacon and added sauteed wild mushrooms (mainly criminis but very tasty!). Together, it was sublime! 5 stars for the pizza. Together, I can only rate this an overall score of three stars. If the servers were better at their job then I would have rated this a 4th and if the tables would have been cleaned on time I would have rated this a 5 star, which I almost never do! This was amazing pizza!

You must try the happy hour here, they have some pretty darn good pizza and also pasta is very good here. It tastes like the pasta and may possibly be homemade. I like the atmosphere inside this restaurant it is a very quaint little joint. The service is very good, and I have been here a couple times and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I just moved to Eugene and from the reviews I was drawn to coming here to check it out. The visit was somewhat of a disappointment. One is the time for food to be done I ordered a small 8 in pizza and it took almost 30 minutes to get. Another disappointment was that it felt like I was ignored for a bigger table with more people. However the plus side is that the pizza was pretty good. If you are patient the outcome will be good. However, 30 mins for a pizza is kind of dragging. If service was better this review would have been a 5.

Food was excellent. The people I was with loved the bread (I can't have bread). The soup was excellent and friends said their pasta dishes were too. We were going to a show and had to hurry, but went back after the show for desserts .. wow excellent doesn't do them justice. The serves were huge and we had no trouble sharing one between two and taking left over home. Service early was good, service late was excellent! Told us where deserts were made, how and why. Attended to our every need. Lots of hot water and tea bags!

Delicious pizza. I've never really had much else other than pizza and salad because it's so good. There's been times I've stopped in just for the focaccia to go too, as it is also pretty tasty. Service has been hit or miss. Sometimes worse than others, and it is a little spendy. But the food makes up for it and I've yet to have a horrible experience here. I did order carrot cake here once when they had it- it was amazing. The best carrot cake I've ever had. It's hard to walk in here and not leave with a piece of this cake!

The food is amazing. The service shockingly flawless. Corinne gets huge props. Hunny and man-cub shared a large pizza. Each had his favorite on a half. Delicious. I had a simple marinara sauce with pasta and a side of pesto. The fresh bread is delicious. Had King Estate pinot gris. Yum. Will most def come back here.

My boyfriend and I just moved to the Riverbend area and we discovered Ciao yesterday evening. Atmosphere was great! The pizza oven and open prep area are a fantastic idea. We sat at the bar and Jade was our server. She was wonderful! We were served fresh bread with oil and vinegar to start, followed by a cup of Spicy Tomato soup that was delightful. After about 20 minutes both of our pizzas were served and looked fantastic, they tasted even better. We will be back and can't wait to try the desserts we passed up!

We were passing through Springfield recently, and picked this place on a whim. It looked like they had good yelp reviews, and the menu sounded great. We started with a salad. Really, really tasty. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. The toppings all fit together perfectly. We then moved on to the pizza. Clearly the ingredients were fresh. Wood firing each pizza was a nice touch and really came out in the flavor. The waiter was extremely friendly, and the prices were very good. This is a Springfield 5 star (probably a Seattle 4 star.)

We had a terrible experience here. We were in town for the marathon and had made a dinner reservation for 10 people at 5:15 p.m. the Saturday before the race. It was pretty empty when we went in and our server was already looking scattered. The service was terrible. She barely attended to us...it took forever for her to take our order, get our drinks (water), or bread. We had to get up and remind her that we still needed our water and bread. It was a looooong wait and when the food came out, some people had cold dishes while others were piping hot. Clearly, some of the dishes had been sitting out for awhile. When one of my friends noted to our server that her pizza was cold and tasteless, but she would eat it anyways since we had waited for so long, our server just responded "Oh, really?" Rather than actually apologizing for the poor service, she kept making excuses about how busy they were. While the tables were full, it's really not that large of a restaurant and there weren't even that many people waiting to get seated. It took a long time to get our bill and we had to send someone up to remind her about that as well. What should have been a quick experience turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. Never again.

Ciao was good, but I was hoping for more. I arrived STARVING before my whole party could meet me. I had to really work to get the waiter to notice me to order a salad for my pregnant self. The salad was fine--it had a ton of lean chicken breast but wasn't particularly amazing. The pizza the group settled on was also fine and dandy, but nothing like La Perla downtown. We also ordered a Ravioli special. Like everything else, the ravioli was fine. The pasta exterior seemed somewhat undercooked. One thing that was very, very good was the foccacia. It's delightful. All in all, it was food. Probably a lot better than the other options in the area.

Blasting through Oregon on the way to Seattle, needed to stop somewhere close to the freeway -- friend was exhausted and craving pizza. And this place had gluten-free options, yay! It was a super-busy Saturday evening, so we were warned of a long wait time for pizza...so we split a GF pizza and my friend had a Caesar salad in the meantime. She claimed it was better than the one consumed at a gourmet place in Mt Shasta the evening prior. The crust was not the best I've had -- not much flavor and too chewy. I did learn that this is the only thing they don't make in-house -- comes from Portland. However, the toppings were fab. I'd probably try the pasta if I come back.

Good pizza! Great atmosphere and great service as well. Unimpressed with the Tirimisu tho. I've had way better. Seemed like they use rum flavoring rather than real rum (or Brandy.) The cake part was dry and the creme filling needed more sweetness. Also could have used more coffee flavor. Oh, be prepared to wait for your food. Everything is made from scratch so it takes a while.

Hubs and I went to eat here tonight and it was FABULOUS! The atmosphere was great, the waiter was very attentive, the food was very good. The food was like eating at a high class restaurant with their decorative plates and awesome beyond the normal menu. The pizza is prepared and baked in a wood burning fireplace which you can watch. I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be going back again :D

Asked the waitress about the dinner special as suggested on the menu. She said "they" hadn't figured that out yet so no dinner special. Asked her about the soup, she said it was made with white beans, kale and "some other stuff." Asked if a salad was included in the dinner, she said we could order a side salad for $3 which is "somewhere on the menu." Order two calzones and ice tea. Tea was warm. Calzones were tasteless. Mine was supposed to have sausage. I took it apart and could not find anything resembling sausage. $35 meal and very disappointed. Will never go back.

The pizza at Ciao is 'A-OK' ... not the best around these parts, but not awful either. Maybe 3.5 stars for the pizza. Despite its location, its appearance, and the other places in the near vicinity, Ciao Pizza isn't a branch of an aggressively growing corporate-food enterprise. They are affiliated with the Excelsior Inn/Hotel. On my second, and most recent, visit, the service was rather poor. We waited a long time to receive our very simple pizza. The pizza-making person actually came out from the back to let us know that she had miscommunicated with the server and offer her apologies. That was nice. The server disappeared for a while before bringing us the check. Then, he really disappeared after giving us the check and saying he'd be right back. Thankfully, I had the right amount of cash to pay the bill. But, I could have just skipped out. We were literally the only people in the place by the time our bill was brought to us. 1 or 2 stars for the service, but my partner has been there a half-dozen times and said that she's never had anything like that happen at Ciao before. I'm not inclined to rush back over there but, when I do, I hope it's a better experience.

Unexpectedly love this place. It's in a strip mall by the highway and yet indoors, the ambiance is fine. The pizza is divine, the ingredients fresh and the salads are well put together. Great wines and knowledgeable servers. The desserts are pre-made frozen things, I'd skip those but everything else is wonderful!

Ciao Pizza has awesome atmosphere. You almost feel like you're in some café in Europe. They have very Italian-style pizza. I ordered the Margherita (to share) and it was nicely cooked with good ingredients. I will note, however, that there was extra flour on parts of the bottom that wasn't especially pleasant to eat. We also got a loaf of the foccacia, because it was so good. The cheesecake is also a treat; they write "Ciao" in chocolate sauce on the plate, which was a nice touch. This place is not for massive NY-style pies, but instead personal Italian meals.

I believe I've figured out optimal strategy for Ciao. It appears that one of the daily specials is always a pasta dish paired with a salad, which is important when considering that the regular pasta dishes come ala carte w/ a small portion of crostini bread (the crostini is fresh out of the oven, I watched them prepare it.) By itself the pasta isn't enough for a meal, and pairing the Insalata Mista salad w/ pasta outside of the daily special costs 37% more, so you're getting great value with the special. The salad comes on its own plate and is fairly large, so I suspect that it's no smaller than the regular salad from the menu. The food quality is high, which makes being able to get full on it at this price point pretty awesome (underrated I might say.) I think the special is always a ravioli dish as that's what its been 3/3 times I've checked. I would strongly advise to roll with whatever the special is, otherwise you're probably not going to be happy w/ what you got for the price (but hey, I'm cheap, your mileage may vary.) These are outstanding: Ravioli con Carciofi Artichoke Ravioli tossed in a Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce The raviolis are made offsite via the Excelsior Pasta Shop. They tasted great - I've got no problem with them being frozen for local shipment.

  • Shane H.

The Server was very knowledgeable about the menu & described things very well. The atmosphere is good, but quite empty considering it should still have a lunch rush. That may be due to many choices to eat in a small area. I enjoyed the ravioli & would recommend this place for a nice meal. They make their own pasta which is nice. I've got to come back for a pizza.

Classy Pizza Place? WHAAAAAT? Lol crazy I know but it's true. A friend and I dropped in because we had heard they had a gluten-free pizza crust. Unfortunately this wasn't true, but we stayed and ate anyway because we found the place charming. The restaurant was centered around a brick-oven and the décor was modern but comfortable. The staff was nice and dressed smart. The service was fast (it helped there was only 2 other people in the place). And the pizza... oh the pizza! It was doughy and fluffy and probably the best crust I've had and the toppings were healthy and tasted fresh. Another plus, the desert was delicious. This is something I don't really think about at a pizza place. Down side, a tad expensive for such small serving sizes. I wouldn't suggest going with a group because not everyone would get fed. More like a good date spot, or girl night spot.

I consider myself to be somewhat of a pizza snob, so I very surprised when my pizza arrived. It was wonderful ! Very yummy ! They make their own dough and cook the pizza in a traditional pizza oven. Which to me is the only way to go, the ingredients were fresh and the sauce was excellent. Big thumbs up !!!

  • Tim G.

I enjoyed my pizza and my wife enjoyed her salad. The crust was crisp and nicely finished on both the bottom and around the edges. The sauce was flavorful and not too thin or thick. Good amounts of toppings on the pizza and the salad. Service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. From order to food on the table was about 20 minutes. We watched them make the pie and put it in the oven and then monitor it's progress. Once the pie came out it was immediately cut and served, still piping hot at the table. I was pleased with the food and the experience and will happily return.

We looked up places to stop on our way through Oregon from WA. This place looked delicious and pretty good by Yelp reviews. This pizza place was located off a busy exit, which was a "detour" because of recent updates. After a bit of frustration thanks to the Oregon DOT, we made it to an area heavily populated by restaurants. Ciao Pizza was not too busy, and we were impressed by the fact that they had only 1 server for their location. We were allowed to choose our own table, which worked well with our 2 year old. She was disappointed by the lack of crayons/paper to play with (she's used to that) but I provided that from our car. Food was delicious. We only had the margharita pizza, but it was super-tasty. The tomato sauce was so good! I wish we lived closer so we could try other food they had. Oh well! Next time we're in Oregon... The only disappointing thing - the server got distracted near the end of the meal and we almost had to beg for our check so we could get back on the road!

We have been on the Oregon Coast for two years and are starved for pizza. So coming to Eugene and finding Ciao was a treat. But then the more we ate here we started thinking, "you know, this is better than X place in Seattle," and "I think it's even better than Y place we love in Pt. We usually get the pizza with the chicken, salads (usually the one with roasted red peppers), Ninkasa beers, and have tried their chocolate cheesecake. All delicious. And great service makes it a place we'll go back to any time we're in Eugene.

Our party of 13 came in unannounced and the waitress moved another party of three over to seat us. We were seated in less than five minutes and had our drinks in fifteen minutes. Our waiter split the check in whatever way we wanted and the food was fantastic. We were very impressed by the quality of the service and of the food. Thanks Ciao Pizza!

My family and I went in here because the idea of brick oven pizza sounded really good. We walked in the door and were hit with the great smells that usually accompany a good pizza place. A waitress was seating another couple (that turned into a party of 6) and pointed us in the direction of the last table available. That is the last contact we had with any employee in the restaurant. We sat down and looked at the menu on the table and decided what we were going to order for dinner. We sat there and waited, and waited, and waited. The table of six that I mentioned earlier was given their drinks, their appetizers, salads, etc. We never had any wait staff come to the table to find out what we wanted to drink, if we wanted food or anything. The couple sitting next to us made a comment about how rude that was and that is was unusual for the restaurant. They had eaten there several times and were impressed with the quality of the food and the service. The whole time that we were there, the waitress was more concerned with flirting with the kitchen staff, cleaning up the bar area, flirting with other customers that she couldn't be bothered to come and take care of her customers. We left there after about 1/2 hour and went across the parking lot to Five Guys where the service was considerably better and we were actually served.

I will definitely be back! Okay, only because I accidentally bought two Groupon offers for Ciao the other day. This is not the place to pop in for a quick pizza on your way home from Target - there is tons of waiting, to order, for entrees, for a check. At first I thought maybe my expectations were out of line, considering that this higher-end pizza restaurant is located in a strip mall, but we just kept waiting and waiting. The pizza (each comfortably feeds two) wasn't too bad: tasty toppings, good proportion of toppings/sauce/crust and an unfortunately bland and flat crust seared in a wood-fired oven. Pizza begins with the crust, right? We also tried a ravioli dish that was gummy and a bit bland.. They dusted the plate with the same Parmesan that sits in a shaker on the table - it looks, tastes and smells exactly like the stuff in a green can sold next to the spaghetti at the supermarket. I was kind of shocked that they'd resort to this. The menu is pretty much pizzas, calzones and pastas, each for $12-15. The complimentary foccacia was yummy.

We found this place by accident on a Starbucks stop and decided to eat dinner. It wasn't busy, and the server said he could get us a wood-fired pizza in 10 minutes, so we decided to go for it (we were on a long road trip and were eager to keep going). We ordered a half cheese/half prosciutto and basil pizza and the Oregon salad. Both were delicious and the service could not have been more accommodating. It was kid-friendly too, which was great for our 3 little ones! Definitely eat here!

Today, we went to Ciao Pizza on Gateway. Three or four years ago, they had pretty good pizza which I would have rated 3.5 to 4 stars (for Eugene, that's good). Today? Wow. Yuck. I gave them 2/5 stars just because there are worse places out there, like Papa's, Cozmic, Abby's, and the usual suspects of national chain restaurants which are just absolutely dreadful. I ordered the Margherita, my daughter ordered the Toscana. When it arrived, it looked disgusting. I am used to Margherita having an orderly appearance of red (tomato sauce), white (mozzarella), and green (basil). The Margherita side of the pizza was nasty. It looked like someone had vomited partially digested toppings on there - it was a mixed, saucy mess. The crust was dry and crunchy on the edges, which is alright with me, but looked underdone all the same - and the middle WAS underdone. Yet the bottom was burned black. For the life of me, I do not know how this was accomplished. The Toscana did not look much better - as it had bacon on it and I do not eat bacon, I only tasted the chicken pieces. They were just meh. My daughter said the pizza itself was terrible. All in all, the flavor was just bad. My younger daughter had "macaroni and cheese," which was made not with macaroni, but with shells, not to be picky, I'm just saying - you're an Italian restaurant. You all should know your damned noodles. The sauce on the mac was fair. I can, and routinely do, make massively better sauce in my own kitchen. When we first started going to this place, we really liked it. But this slide downhill that we have been witnessing in the past two or three years seems to be continuous and worsening. I really like to bring my business to local places, and I like to see locals succeed, especially if they start out as food snobs ("foodies"), as I am. But based on this and other remote experiences, we are unfortunately done with Ciao. My advice to the owner? Change your menu. It's tired. The pasta dishes are boring. There is too much meat on your menu. The sauces are not that great (my last experience with their pasta - other than the mac and cheese today - was not positive, either - my own homemade lasagna is better, my own cheese sauces are better - if I am going to pay for it, I expect the food to exceed what I can do in my own kitchen with no recipes or Italian chefs around). Try a seasonal menu, and do specials that are not just a selection off the regular menu at a discount price (what is that? It's cheesy). Lighten up your sauces and dishes. And by George, get some new chefs! In my opinion, the owner should visit the place, order something, and reassess the future of this restaurant. I doubt he would want to eat there, either.

Wood fired pizza and calzones with proper mozzarella cheese. Service was nice and friendly. The building is small, so I dont suggest large groups. I got the margherita pizza which had fresh mozzarella and basil for lunch for $7.95. They make and sell wood-fired bread(s) as well.

We visited Ciao Pizza late Friday night and it wasn't crowded at all...which usually makes me worry. But we were immediately seated and given menus. The service was great!

The owner is from Napoli and having lived there, I really enjoyed their pizza. The waitress was great. We tried three different pizzas - yummy!

Delicious! Got pasta, pizza, and bottle of Pinot to go.... Was fun watching the chefs cook the pasta and pizza behind the bar. Pizza crust was some of the best I have had! Very clean and simple just the way I like my food. Would highly recommend this place.

Townsend," and pretty soon this became our favorite pizza place. Period.

The service here is amazing. We were greeted quickly and checked on several times. We got our order in pretty quick and the staff was very friendly. The food here is some of the best pizza in town. The wait for our plates were not too long, either. I recommend this to anyone who loves pizza and its kin!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
