There were a few times on our way here where I almost turned around. It is a couple blocks from the rest of the restaurants in downtown and the space appears to be empty. But our persistence paid off and once we found the restaurant (down the stairs on the lower level), it was a good choice for lunch. Like other reviewers, I really enjoyed the atmosphere which has a tropical tree house kind of feel. If you can, get a seat by the window so you can take in the view of the river. Most of the other restaurants and coffee houses along the river are perched high above the water. This is lower and has a more dramatic view. This building was also beautifully remodeled, so the space has a modern flair. The atmosphere and service are the best I've experienced in Silverton, but the food was only okay. We ordered sandwiches and the Tuna Melt isn't an item I'd order again. The Grilled Turkey Avocado & Swiss was better. You have the choice of fries, tots or salad as your side or can pay extra for soup. Their signature soup is Tomato Gorgonzola and it was nice. Even though the food isn't something I'll rave about, it is certainly decent in comparison to some of the other dining experiences in Silverton. For locals, they have a Creekside Lunch Club - after six lunches the seventh is free.

Consistently good food, friendly waitstaff. If you can get a table on the patio overlooking the river, I highly recommend it. Lori, who runs the place is AWESOME. Even though I live in LA now, when I come home to visit, I invariably end up grabbing a drink and/or food at this place. Never a let down. Continued success!!!!

Several friends went here to celebrate a birthday. Before being seated we were physically moved by a waitress while waiting in the designated waiting area. She was visibly annoyed with us for standing and waiting for a table? Didn't make sense to us either! We walked to the bar and heard her mutter "kids" when referring to us. Yes, we are young (25), but no we are not kids. Once seated, we were questioned about a temporary ID card (understandable because it was paper) and we attempted to explain the situation (renewed license). This was followed by the waitress putting her hand up and extremely rudely saying "you're fine, you're fine, you're fine." Our friend was not at all heated or upset about the situation, so this response was completely unnecessary, disrespectful, and honestly, degrading. We were in shock that she was so rude to us from the moment we walked in the door... and for no reason at all. It was really pretty bizarre. We all grew up in Silverton and were surprised we'd never tried Creekside Grille, so it was disappointing to have this experience and feel that we never want to go back. We live within walking distance now and wish this was one of our options for going out in this great town, but nopppppe. :(

I love Creekside Grill! Food: Excellent. They are VERY Gluten-free friendly if you're into that sort of thing. They have a number of menu options that come with the option of being Gluten-Free. The wine selection is small, but great- some big names, some local names. The salads are unbelievable. So tasty! I also highly recommend the Chicken Artichoke Oasis! Service: Friendly and quick. I have been there four times and have been extremely happy with the service. Atmosphere: Wonderful! Sitting out on the balcony over the river...what more can you ask for? Love this place. :)

I was in Silverton giving an internet marketing workshop at the library on 7/29/09. The Creekside Grill is just a half a block north of there on Water Street. You walk down a flight of stairs and enter a lower level that you don't see from the street. It's a great setting and the spaces are very comfortable. They did a great job remodeling this historic building and keeping it's brick and wood old world charm and blending in some high ceilings and a lot of windows for natural lighting. They have a wonderful eating area outside on a deck over the creek. Food and service were great. Prices are very reasonable. I had a grilled chicken salad that was delightful. Nicely done sliced chicken breast over mixed greens with a raspberry vinegarette with crumbled goat cheese. The presentation was great and so were the staff. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality. The food was super fresh, and real lemonade. One of my guests had a cheese burger that looked absolutely awesome. I'll have to come back...

Have always loved this place but this time nothing went right, bad food, bad service. Hopefully it will be better next time or we won't be back.

We had dinner out on the patio of the Creekside Grill one recent eveniing. A beautiful outdoor patio that sits above the picturesque creek. Our service was excellent, and very friendly and professional. I had the house Chardonnay which was quite good, and my husband had a Long Island Iced Tea which he said was one of the best he had ever had. We had calamari as our appetizer and it was delicious with a light, very tasty batter. My garden salad was quite good, my husband had a small bowl of the chile which was excellent. My entre was salmon which was some of the best prepared salmon I have ever ordered. My husband had the pork loin marsala which was also excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, very nice dinner out.

Came here for a large family dinner. In our party we had ordered various dishes, none of which were remarkable. I ordered the salmon medium rare, and it came overcooked and chewy with so much pepper that you couldnt taste the salmon. Thankfully, it was drowning in an ocean of butter so it helped to re-moisturize the dried out rubbery filet. We had a few orders of pork marsala, and some pork servings were nearly twice the size of the others. Both sizes were overcooked and chewy. The accompanying veggies were minimal: 4 small or crumbling pieces of broccoli and cauliflower. Some of the blueberry cheesecakes for dessert came out with a few blueberries unceremoniously tossed onto the plate, while others had a dollop of whipped cream. All of the prices were extremely high for the small portions and poor quality. Service was iffy and nonexistant; the only person working who was friendly was the busboy. Not impressed and extremely underwhelmed with the food service and presentation.

Not good. First off on a night with three tables and one server, I expect prompt and proper service. Not the case. Waited forever for drinks. Our server was a sweet girl, but without a doubt the biggest space cadet I have ever met. Definitely doesn't belong in the service industry. After a terribly long wait our food came. the fish and chips was frozen fries and mid level frozen cod. The plate was just beige and boring. Not the way you want your dinner to look. My fish was slightly overcooked and had turned rather mushy. The fries tasted like they had sat in the window for ten minutes. My dining partner ordered a turkey bacon and avocado sandwich. It came out and was a turkey bacon and tomato sandwich. (She's allergic to tomatoes.) When we inquired about the reason behind the unexpected substitution we were told they were out of avocados. No offer to get us anything else. They had a good bartender for a while but, as was to be expected he moved on to greener pastures.

We came for my birthday on $5 martini night. It was a Monday night so it wasn't too busy. There was only one server but apparently the 4 or so tables kept her too busy so our service was slow. We wanted to try the martini "deal". They were tasty but were served in the tiniest martini glass I'd ever seen and definitely weren't worth even $5. The food was average. I had the prawns. They were nothing to write home about and they and the rice were not very hot. Overall it was pretty bland. It was also served with near mushy summer squash. I'm not a fan of summer squash as it is but being mushy didn't help. Our dinners didn't come with any extras, not even bread. The desserts on their menu were nothing special so I didn't even get one but my partner did. He got the lava cake. It tasted fine but I saw the same exact dessert in the Walmart freezer. I'm not saying it wasn't house-made I'm just saying it was nothing special or unique. The price overall was okay, (under $20) but for my money, flavor and variety I'll probably stick to McGrath's. They do have a nice location there on the creek however. Maybe I'll just stick to visiting the bar next time.

We found the seafood stew broth phenomenal and the local pork chop very good. We sat overlooking the trout swimming the creek. On our second visit we tried the salmon and it's excellent. We also noticed the crawfish in with the trout.

Nice place with a nice setting but just ok food. Took over 45 min to get our order. Good lemon basil martini.

Lobster bisque was very good! The food was a bit over salted. The $8.00 fish taco lunch entree which comes with lack luster chips and salsa is only ONE taco! And for another $5.00 you can get 2 tacos. Seemed overpriced to me for 2 tacos and some chips. The turkey melt was delicious and we enjoyed the sweet potato fries They should reconsider offering only 1 normal sized corn tortilla taco for $8.00 -- make it $10.00 and just serve 2 tacos! Otherwise, good food and good wine. Would have been 5 stars if the price point wasn't so off on the tacos.

Adequate food, and nice patio/outdoor seating overlooking the creek. The steamer clams are pretty decent. The fish tacos are consistently good. I've found many of their dinner entrees just meh, and often way overseasoned. I tried their "sushi" out of morbid curiosity one evening. Suffice it to say all my expectations were met...and not in a good way.

Had a good dinner at Creekside tonight. We were seated quickly, and well attended to during our service. We started out with the Sweet Potato Fries, which were cooked perfectly and came with a creamy smooth dipping sauce. My only complaint was that there were not enough of them! Between my me, my wife, and my 9-y.o. daughter, we made quick work of these delicious morsels. Next time we might have to get two orders. Dinner entrees also did not disappoint. I opted for the Petite Filet which was served with caramelized shallots and blue cheese crumbles -- it was cooked a perfect medium rare, and the flavor combinations worked very well together. The potatoes were what you would expect from red potatoes -- good, but nothing special. The side vegetables were obviously fresh and expertly cooked al dente. While the flavors did work well together, nothing really popped out at me and said, "wow". My wife went with the Pacific Sole special, and she really enjoyed it. She doesn't often finish her full entree, but she did tonight! My daughter ordered Chicken Fingers & Tots off the kids menu, and we were pleased to see real, freshly breaded and fried chicken breast, along with the best tater tots I've had. My 12-y.o. son no longer orders off of kids' menus, and somehow managed to put away his monstrous platter of Barbecue Pork Ribs (and accompanying potatoes & veggies). I was lucky enough to try one bite, and I'm pretty sure this is what I will get next time -- the smoky flavor is top notch, and the barbecue sauce glaze finishes it off. I'm going with a solid 4 stars this time because it was our first visit, and because my entree really didn't wow me. But the location is convenient for our standard run to Silverton, so I'm sure we will be back.

I have ate twice at the restaurant and have the following recommendations to those wanting to experience the Creekside Grill: First the food is par. Meaning that its not going to make you truly desire to come back and have more. The fish can be slightly over cooked on your plate and done really well on your significant others. The cocktails are good though and the view looking out over the creek is pretty special! Service however is brutal. In our situation we made reservations. We arrived 10 minutes early, but were made to wait 30 minutes past our seating period. What sent us off the trolley, was that friends of the wait staff came in after our arrival, and were seated at our table (we had requested the window view). The owner ignored our party of 8, the staff checked in on us every ten minutes. Since we had a minor with us, they couldn't offer us alternative seating or any kind of beverage service while we waited. To top it off, when we spoke to our waitress and enquired as to why we had such a time, she acted arrogant and uninterested. I called and spoke to the owner of the restaurant and he did in fact apologize, however it was after claiming ignorance to our plight and making excuses. Only after explaining who we were and the local attorneys that had accompanied us, did that cease. For my money, I would go look to go elsewhere. I hate to give a review like this, but it is warranted.

As a new comer "local" I know that I get caught in a rut and do not expand my dinner mind very often. When I decide not to cook, I am usually down at one of the local pubs getting a pint and a burger. For whatever reason I decided to do something different tonight and I am glad I did. I do not know much about the history of this place and I have had lunch here twice and a class of wine here only once before. My recent dinner experience this evening was very good. I ate in the bar on a quiet night and had the seafood special. It was one of the best fish meals I have ever had! The bar is small, intimate with lots of glass. I looked out over the trees and creek, sipped on my (local) pinot gris and enjoyed my meal. Frankly, if the food is consistently this good, I will be back!

Came here with the entire family. I had just got done working outside on the farm and was a bit dirty. Didn't realize its kind of a fancy place. I felt out of place but they didn't bat an eye at me or my dirty father who had been working with me. We all decided to get the Barbecue Hamburgers. They were really good burgers with fresh meat hand made patties. The bbq sauce was really good too. A sweet sauce. The only downside was the fries which were store bought. But they were still really good, I just thought they would have been handout fresh cut fries at a place like this. Next time I want to try their pasta.

Another great dinner at Creekside. We ordered the Fisherman's Stew and it was incredible. Since we had ordered a bottle of wine we were served a free appetizer for two - two skewers of shrimp and a salad. Both were very tasty. As always we had the Zombie Fries which we love. This restaurant really deserves six stars.

Delicious food, attractive presentation, warm atmosphere, attentive waiting staff, all at a totally reasonable price. I had salmon with smashed taters and the marionberry pie, all of which I enjoyed very much.

We took my Mother here for her birthday last night and we all enjoyed our meals very much. Mom and I had the creamy artichoke chicken, my husband had the ribs and kiddo had a bacon cheeseburger. The owner was nice, the servers were nice and helped each other out so that was nice. If I had a complaint the only thing I was confused on was what kind of establishment was I in? Is it casual dining? Is it fine? The food and menu were what I concider fine dining. I think if I were the owner I would take my wonderful servers to somewhere like Acadia or Henry's and have us all learn what an experience fine dining can be when fully launched. (Also, a visit to a true martini bar would be educational for them on what vodkas and gins to carry) We will definately go back.

I am sad to report that this was one of the most embarrassing dining experiences that I have ever had to live through. This happened just over a week ago and I can't let it go so I need to share here. We made reservations for a party of 10 at 6pm last Saturday. We arrived on time and we were seated promptly. This is where the good stuff stops happening. After we were seated, my children (3 of them) were given crayons in a cup. My two year old dumped hers out only to have an old used belly button ring get dumped on the table too. We let the waitress know and she grabbed it and was visibly disgusted but offered no apology. Then she took half our tables drink order. The half she didn't take were my parents (from out of town) and my in laws ( visiting from Europe) ... My father in law and father ordered the special, a steak, that we were told 45 minutes later that they were out of. Remember, we got there at 6. Of the 10 dishes served 5 of them were not what we ordered. Service was horrible. I had to come home to get some water because I was so thirsty. Here's the cherry on top of this very bad embarrassing evening. When I got up to pay, they asked me how much the bill should be! When we finally arrived at the price owed, they asked again if that sounded like everything and I asked if the price included the belly button ring or if they were throwing that in for free and they LAUGHED and said "ya, someone probably did that on purpose" ... We were sick for days following this nightmare of a dinner. Never NEVER again.

I regularly go to Silverton to visit my mom. This is one of our favorite places to go, since they are open for lunch & stay open late in the afternoon. They are always friendly and the food quality has been very good and consistent. The only thing I haven't loved are the fish tacos - kind of skimpy and not fabulous flavor or presentation. But I've had the salmon, sandwiches, ribs and other things & all have been top notch. Recently took out of town relatives (Virginia & California) there for lunch and everyone raved about the sweet potato fries. Some of them went back a couple of days later for pulled pork sandwich and ribs. They said they were the best ribs ever and they travel a LOT. Sitting by the beautiful creek is a wonderful bonus. Such a cute town!!

The food has always been good here...just good, not anything over the top...but the service always disappointing! The wait staff always seems very snooty. They're more of a classy place I guess but if you go in with just a general want for food they act like you aren't worth their time unless you are going to be ordering multiple drinks, appetizers, main course, and dessert. Sure bigger bill will mean bigger tip, but treat everyone like they're worth your time, Even if all they want is a burger and iced tea!!

For the area i think they do a pretty good job. Staff was exceedingly friendly, but i the quality and service experience was not great. much time passed between seeing our server, and New York strip had way too much fat. Our bartender looked frantically busy for most of the time we were there, despite that we were 2 of only 4 in the bar, and the dining room was very quiet. The bar/lounge area is called the grotto, but the decor needs a lot of work, a quick trip to a Pier One would go a long way in improving ambiance. Overall just ok.

Server failed us: didn't tell us the daily specials (might have changed our order when we overheard at another table the server telling them the specials - in season fresh caught Albacore for instance, fajitas etc.), also didn't tell us we could add a second fish taco (the menu did say "tacos" but plate had only one but later we overheard the other table getting the 2nd taco for extra $5 option). Up sold us on the margaritas (I like good agave tequila but a great tequila is a bit lost in a margarita IMHO my hubby asked what agave tecquilas they had but we didn't get a choice as I'm sure they had several options nor did we get a heads up on the extra charges which also weren't marked on the menu which I think is pretty common to see) and the price of the margarita and ruby margarita did not match the menu prices that we did see in the end, but whatever, just wanted to go by the bill time. Food was OK, mango tango salad sounded better than it was, really not that special nor that big. Fish taco was good, but again, didn't know we got only one taco when we ordered since the menu said "tacos" - came with just out of the jar salsa for $9 just seemed like not much on the plate but a big charge. Favorite was steamer clams which were delicious. Creek patio was nice. But for a $60 tab, not much food nor drink, nothing was that special and felt a little put off by the server when we saw / heard we hadn't been told much important information felt a bit slighted by the end. I still tipped 25% but hubby said I should have tipped low which in his book is still 15%...they were slow not busy, guess she just didn't like us or our "types". It's more of a cafe / bistro not really a fancy place, and I was kind of dressed up, whatever. There's tons of great taquerias out this way, and we did see great beer/burger places in Silverton where we could have gotten a feast and been happier with how we were treated for half the price.

2015 Update...I've upgraded to 4 stars from 3. We've come here at lunch time many times now. The food is really good and the service has improved immensely! Their sweet potatoe fries are yummm! Food is generally good. (Hamburgers, steak fries, fresh salads - typical "American Fare"). Service is friendly but oh so s--l--o--w! (Especially in the evenings.) We had to wait over 45 minutes to get our meal the last time we were there and the restaurant wasn't even half full.

I went here for my birthday lunch - my coworkers took me. The menu is great. I loved all the options. We ordered Parmesean Chicken and the BBQ Burger. I requested fresh jalapenos on my burger and they were able to accomodate! THANK YOU! The flavor on our entrees was pretty good actually, the only issue was that everything was slightly overdone. It also took a fairly long time to get our food. I was told from one of the people at our table that was becuase they make everything from scratch. I mean, I should hope so... :) Anyway, I did enjoy the food. We were seated creekside (inside) and it really was pleasant to watch the creek while we ate. We even snapped a couple photos because it was just so picturesque. Dessert was a yummy marionberry pie. I think if service moved a little faster (refilling drinks etc) and the food wasn't overdone (it was actually tough to cut) I could bump this place up a star or two.

We walk into the building and walk downstairs to the restaurant. This location has potential of being a cozy restaurant that can also be romantic. Unfortunately, it is pretty cold. The floors are concrete, and there is really no special decor that makes it anything unique. There were some items on the menu that advertised as gluten free, although a couple of them had blue cheese, and unless it was made different somehow...I've always read that it has gluten in it. Some of the prices seemed a bit high for a restaurant that seemed fairly casual. I ordered the special that I was told was gluten free (chipotle pork loin). When I got the dish, there were these crispy strip type things just set on top. The waitress said, just take those off and it'll be completely gluten free. Um...why were they placed there in the first place? It was basically a garnish... thankfully I'm not one of those that are sensitive enough that if gluten touches my food I'm super sick, so I ignored it. The food itself was good, but nothing to write home about in my opinion. The strawberry lemonade was a teeny bit on the sweet side, but was quite good, with fresh strawberries. Overall I gave this place a 3 because it was just average. The service was good, and so was the food. The view we had was right on the river, so that upped the points a little bit. If you have about $40-50 (for two people) to spend for an average meal... I'd say go for it

I gotta go 5. Just did the Valentine's Day Dinner and it was amazing! Martini's were unique, was a little backed up in getting us seated but we met some really nice locals who said this was their fav place. Valentine's special included choice of appetizer ... Crab cakes were awesome. Wife had the Caesar Salad and I had the clam chowder with the recommendation from our waitress. Frankly, perhaps one of the top 5 chowders I have had. Can't really appropriately describe the Filet Mignon as it was prepared perfectly in my opinion. Halibut was good too but I would definitely go with the Filet. This place would definitely be worth the detour or as a destination for a great meal. This night they also had very good entertainment...also worth the trip! This has been a getaway couple of days. We have been very pleased to find a great place to stay and several great places to eat and got to see some amazing water falls! How can life get much better?

What a fabulous lunch! - Outside balcony, overlooking the creek - gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Hands down - best Spicy Bean Burger I have every had...their own recipe - as a vegetarian - is a bit tough sometimes to really find tasty 'burgers' - Creekside makes their own bread - the roll was squishy - sauce perfect - really! I cannot wait to go back and enjoy another. Sweet potato fries were good but a bit on the salty side for me. Service was perfect - gracious, warm and friendly. Really a nice staff - beautiful surroundings - definitely go back - gonna grab me another Spicy Bean Burger! All three of us enjoyed our lunch! Was just what we were looking for. We found it at Creekside. Bet you will too.

I really enjoyed this place. It is right on the main drag, just down the street from the Library and Museum. What I really liked about it was even though it was 100 degrees when we were there, we were eating off the patio that hangs over Silver Creek and the cool air from the creek made it only feel like about 80 and we actually got to enjoy our meal. The prices were very reasonable, most everything was under $12 and a lot under $10. If you are in the Silverton area, I suggest you check out the Creekside Grill and say high to Rose, she was great!

I keep coming back here for the relaxing atmosphere. The balcony leans out over the creek, and even on a cool day you can eat outside and listen to the water dancing over the stones and admire the way the sunlight dapples through the trees onto the creek. The food is decent. I am not going to disagree with some of the negative comments on food posted by other yelpers - this is not gourmet. It's better than Sizzler, and not quite as good as Olive Garden. They have a small but well-selected wine list and pour generously. They have a full bar and do a full complement of mixed drinks. They are always very, very nice. I get fettuccine with prawns - it is a dish that is pretty hard to screw up, and while it has never made me weep with joy it has also never disappointed me. After a long hot day of hiking Silver Falls, this is where I want to top it off: perched over the cool waters of the creek, well into my third glass of wine, eyes half open as I enjoy the feeling of the alcohol settling into my tired muscles, sopping up the last of my cream sauce with a piece of garlic toast. Perfect.

This restaurant has everything going for it! It has a good menu, good food, great location and an AMAZING STAFF. The space is great. You can sit on the patio overlooking the river. Even the inside had a feel to it like you were really outdoors. We had a great experience here and would go again. My only small complaint is that I think it was about $3 too much for about every food item. I would pay a little extra for great friendly service and a great view though.

If I were to give stars on the place alone I would do a 5 because it was a REALLY fun layout. With all the beautiful plants, fun stairwells, multiple entrances, nice table settings and best of all, the balcony seating (1/2 closed in & 1/2 open) that hung out over the Silver Creek. The view of the creek was beautiful with the trees hanging over, the endless views up & down stream no matter where you were sitting, and the sun shining off the small water fall in the distance. We found ourselves wandering into this little fun treasure in search of some good grub after a long day of hiking silver falls & the abiqua. Everything about this place was enchanting. The hostess and waitress were both very sweet, helpful and attentive. So service was prime!!! After my husband got himself all worked up over their signature Kobe beef Hamburger with the works on it, and I on their lunch special fish sandwich, I ordered their Blue Grotto signature drink, and sat back to enjoy the scenery and peacefulness. My drink came out blue with a lovely slice of star fruit hanging off it (that I had to avoid poking into my eyes hahaha). Then the food. AMAZING presentation. The large plates were heaping with eye popping servings. The fries and tatertots were SUPER tasty!!! ...then for the not so good...my sandwich, although a valiant effort, and well presented, tasted like they took cheap freezer burnt battered fish from the deep freezer, unthawed it and slapped it between bread. I really wanted to like it...but it was dry and flavorless :( As for the burger?...same thing. The thick patty was dry and lacking flavor. Neither my husband or I commented to eachother about either of these things until we had left. But upon leaving we were comparing notes and realizing both meals tasted warmed up from the freezer... ...the worst part...we were burping greasy burps from the fries for the next three hours, and I ended up taking tums when I got home to try to settle my stomach. I have had fries at a million places, and never experienced this kind of grease. Im sad to say I will not be returning to this restaurant. It was so beautiful and charming, with excellent services, and Im sure they might have better dishes to offer, but my experience makes me want to try out some of the other Silver Creek balcony dining I noticed up on walking around the town later.

I loved the location. Got the salmon roll appetizer and the wasabi was too strong, soy sauce was too salty. I don't think they should attempt sushi and stick with American. We sat on the balcony over the creek on a beautiful warm day. The girls and I ordered fettuccini alfredo which was very good. Wished they'd add more than 3 prawns. They aren't that expensive.

We came for an important family occasion, hoping to find a good restaurant in this area. Everthing really about it was bad. The guy who took our reservation acted as if he hadn't ever done it before. The atmosphere was ok right on the creek but a bit odd, we knew something was "up" Base on the menu and prices we thought maybe this was going to be ok, but the appentizers were small for the price, and not that great. The main course I could have cooked in my own kitchen for far less money in far less time. The "vegetables" were steamed run of the mill bagged vegies. the ribs clearly from a crock pot, the potatotes salty etc. After the mediocre meal, the wait staff apparently forgot we existed and came back 30 minutes latert o deliver a ridiculous desert of molten lava cake that was just cleary microwaved. Horrible, if you are going to run a diner, call it a diner, but don't ask $30 a person and deliver this bad food and service, don't go, just don't go, a very poorly run place.

The worst. Empty for a reason. Cute downtown a couple of blocks further. Wish we had gone there.

Delicious food, attractive presentation, warm atmosphere, attentive waiting staff, all at a totally reasonable price. I had salmon with smashed taters and the marionberry pie, all of which I enjoyed very much.

Perfect.
