Seaside needs a good burger joint but this one isn't it. It wasn't busy - maybe 3 other groups there, but we waited for 10 minutes to be seated - we could see empty tables. Another 15 minutes to get our order taken. And another 20 minutes to get our food. There was another family who got there food spread out over about 10 minutes, and another couple who were seated after us who got their food before we did. The 3 teenagers manning the front spent a lot of time chatting with each other. To compensate for the slow service they have is a discount coupon for our next meal - which expired in 4 days - we left the coupon there. It was really bad. I felt sorry for them as I hate to see new business go south but this one doesn't have what it takes to survive much less provide good food or service.

We are local , ordered wise guy and cheezy Burger's- ice Tea and a fountain drink.Good burger but bill hit 25 bucks not including tip , collected before you eat. Think burgers were 7.99 and 5.99. Don't really know, never got receipt with breakdown. Figure that left 4.50 a drink. Hmmmm. Notice -I gave the Firehouse grill a high rating. Great food and worth the price Sorry to say, no return in sight.

If I could I would give wiseguys a no star. I am a former employee who quit for safety resons. While employed here I noticed that moet of the kitchen staff did not fallow food safty protocols. Thay do not have a dishwasher machine so thay use the 3 sink method but do not actually wash, rinse, sanitize. I could not finf a thermometer 8n the entire kitchen and I would ask other employees were I could find one and thay told me thay didn't think there was one. Do not eat there there the kitchen is nasty. And yes I am a former employee but I only lasted a week cause I refused to work in such filth and was not willing to break the health code. Eat at own risk.

Prices were great. Gotta say, the fries seemed as they were sitting around a bit and then mixed with a fresher batch. Some of the fries were pipping hot.. others cold. Not really okay with that. But the burger was pretty good. The service was good. Probably would go back if we are around.

Headed out to the coast on a lark one fine June afternoon, and in a similar vein stopped in at Wise Guy's after not being enthralled by the atmosphere at other nearby establishments. Mark, the owner happened to see us consulting the door menu and waved us inside. The place may be named Burgers and Fries, but the Cod fish and chips were excellent! As another reviewer mentioned, not a freezer in the place. And the owner is not afraid to tell his staff to take the extra minute to make the fries just right. We fully intend to return, and wish Peggy and Mark the best of luck with a new location in Astoria.

One of the BEST burgers I have ever had in my life! Homemade French fries none of the frozen potatoes here. They were delicious. The chicken strips were a bit different but still good. Such nice and helpful staff. Great prices, great food, great staff! Think i would drive all the way from Bend just for another burger

They are 2 for 2 with me. Both visits were perfect. The cheesy burger with fries is great and just $5.99. Burger has hand pressed pattie, toasted bun, fresh onion, tomato and lettuce with some kicked up sauce. Really good. The fries are somewhere between greasy and fantastic. They are darker, moist yet still a bit of crunch to them. If this place was in Portland the wait might be estimated in days, not hours. Now Seaside has three great lunch spots; Wise Guys, The Stand and Firehouse Grill.

I give this place 3.5 stars. To say this place has the best burgers in Seaside would be a stretch, but definitely a decent place. The burgers are really good, service is friendly, oh and they use Tillamook Cheese.

I'm giving this 5 stars for being exactly what I expected: a good burger and fries at a very reasonable price. My family of 4 paid about. 30 dollars, with drinks. We had plenty to eat, and every tasted really good. The owner is really nice and wants to please his customers. The best place in Seaside to get a quick burger!

I've been meaning to write this review since july 4th 2014. we stumbled into a VERY busy town. We had a small dog with us, and we were hungry (3 hours of traffic coming from portland). It was near impossible to find a place that allowed dogs. Wise guys was suggested from the small pet store around the corner. and let me tell you, we came in with high demands. we had a vegetarian, a Pomeranian, and three others who weren't in the mood for burgers. This place went above and beyond... Listen, this isnt a fancy restaurant. it's not gourmet, but sometimes those arnt the things that give you five stars. this place gets 5 stars for being so open, friendly, and accommodating. We didnt want burgers, and they suggested the Fish and Chips. They fish just came in a few hours prior, so we did. I am from New England and grew up having summers on Cape Cod eating fish and chips. These were GREAT. some of the best i have had in Oregon so far. The wait staff was very very friendly, and a nice older man came out and gave us a nice suggestion of some Beaver's honey mustard for the fries ( which were also great) This place is no frills. I dunno about the burgers, but go for the nice mom and pop vibes and the great fish and chips! Thanks Wise Guys!

09/25/2014 -- OUT OF BUSINESS. OLCC License in window for a new establishment. Not sure if the plans to open the Wise Guys location in Astoria are a go or not? No action seems to be happening in the building next to Triangle Tavern on Commercial in Astoria. Sad to see this gone. Hope Hollywood is okay...Peace to you brother.

This is another one of those scenarios where I wish Yelp allowed you to utilize a half-star rating, but I couldn't go as far as to give this place three stars. They simply don't deserve it. As mentioned by another reviewer, this restaurant is a work in progress, but it's got a long way to go before I'd ever consider it again, if I even did. The prices are more than fair, but the food is extremely bland and forgettable. Without the burger sauce, the patty would be far too plain for my liking. And the bun looked like it was just an Oroweat Golden Seeded hamburger roll. I've certainly had worse, but I could also make a much better burger at home. And to think, this place is marketing themselves as having the best burger on the entire West Coast. That's a pretty bold statement. My advice to them would be to take another look at their website and menu, fix all the spelling mistakes and formatting errors, fine-tune the burger recipe and start using a more unique bun. After that, it would do them a world of good if they expanded on the presumed mafia theme and decorated the place accordingly. They can't even spell the name of the street that they're on correctly on their website. That might not seem like much to some, but, if they're making mistakes like that on the website, what kind of mistakes are they making in the kitchen? Don't they have any desire to better themselves? I understand that this place is new to the area, but, in turn, they have to understand that by taking on the entire West Coast burger industry, they kinda came out swingin'. And to be honest, they hit like a girl.

Service: Excellent, polite, personable, and quick. Ambiance: Funky, chill, perfect for taking the family for a bite that isn't fast food drive-thru Food: We were in need of food. Many of us opted for burgers, one for fries, and another for the chicken strips. The burgers, while large, were served well to very well done. I didn't think to ask how they cook them and there wasn't an option given. Next time I'll ask. The fries have so much potential -but- with a cut that thick it's tough to make them right with a quick turnaround. The chicken strips were the best thing during this meal. In Closing: This restaurant offers quality food at a decent price. It is a fantastic alternative for a sit-down meal that won't break the bank (if you're a family and you've got hungry kids to feed after a day of playing at the beach). We'll be back and I'll update after the second try.

Friendly staff, decent prices compared to ridiculous Dundee's a few blocks west. Usually plenty of parking out front except around the holidays. Cons: no air conditioning at the moment. Food was pretty good overall.

This place doesnt look like much but yum! We came here kind of by mistake but we were not disappointed. We ended up sharing a french dip. Sooooo good. I think the best I' ve had. Very basic but it must be the way they cook the meat! Onion rings were also delicious. My sister had the wise guy burger and she really enjoyed it. Prices are reasonable. Definitely better priced than most places around here. The only thing i was disappointed by was the soggy french fries, but even they were pretty good. Friendly staff.

Walked in and they had a little line. First thing I noticed was how humid it was. Flies plagued the other room. The service was horrid. They had a young blonde girl at the register that seemed to be so scattered brained that she forgot to give us our drinks for the people before us and us. the guy bringing out the food had no idea where people where sitting or what they ordered. (They need a number system or ask for a name) We waited 15 mins for our food, only to find out it was sitting up front. By the time the food got to us it was cold and it didn't didn't taste well. Everyone here seemed oblivious on what they where doing. Btw the soda machine was out of root beer, mountain dew and Pepsi. Awesome looks like water for us.

I really, really, really wanted to love this place. But after the really greasy and limp, yet still raw and bland french fries, I couldn't finish the under-cooked and dry burger. The service was great, prices reasonable, and they were eager to please, but the product just didn't deliver.

The owner of this joint is very helpful and wants to hear customer feedback. My family and I visited the coast recently, packing along all the food we thought we'd need, as two of our four have gluten intolerance (a real problem). So, I was very surprised and happy to find that Wise Guys Burgers was happy to try and work with us. They currently don't have a separate fryer for fries (excellent, hand cut, flavorful, skin-on fries I must say), but they change their oil almost daily and I was told if we came in first thing, at 11am, on a particular day, the oil would be fresh. The only suggestion any of us had; my son thought they could offer different flavored fries (cajun or ranch for example). Personally, I love them as they are. Not only did we get lucky no one had ordered breaded items right away, they went the extra mile and purchased some Franz gluten free buns just for our visit. This gesture was much appreciated and above and beyond what was asked. The owner also came out to personally ask how everything was as we finished up. He told me on the phone, and reiterated while we were there, they are getting a separate fryer in the next month or so. They already have it in storage, but need to drive to Portland to retrieve it. Once installed, any time of day will be good for us fry lovers who need to avoid gluten. Their burgers are hand-formed and seasoned gently. These are real quarter pounders with quality, low fat meat. Many places say quarter pounder, but you receive a four inch, flat disk. This was thick, juicy and bun-filling. I tend to ask for my burger unsalted anywhere else, when I can eat out, and found this burger did not require that request. They come with fresh white onion in whole slices, leaf lettuce and tomato slices. The burger comes with fry sauce and one small container of fry sauce is offered as a side for your potatoes, should you want some, at no extra charge. They didn't ask how we wanted our burgers cooked, but they were all well done. I tend to like medium rare, so if that's your leaning, request it when you order. A pitcher of water is set by the soda cups. Plastic cups are provided for the water. There is a fiberglass and solid wood fireplace from floor to ceiling to the right of the register. It also houses a large waterfall above the mantle. There was plenty of seating with benches and chairs mixed throughout. Salt, pepper, ketchup and mustard are provided at the table. As another mentioned, there is plenty of art to enjoy or purchase while enjoying your meal. I am happy to have a place to eat now when we visit the coast. They are in Seaside, which isn't far from either Cannon Beach or Astoria, or anywhere between. They are very well priced: $24 is what we paid for all of us to get a cheeseburger and fries. They have slightly pricier burgers, with eggs, bacon and ham added or just a double cheeseburger with a third pound of meat combined. I didn't see any milkshakes or alcohol. They are fairly new to the spot though, so that may come down the road. For those who want season salt, I didn't see any of that either. They do have fish and chicken. They are on the corner of 1st and Holiday, where Moody's used to be. We finished our meal with a visit across the road to a Lapidary shop that's a fun place to see if you're there. In summary, even if you have no food issues, this is still the best burger joint along the beach for food tastiness, quality and serving size, and they are very well priced, unlike the other eateries in the area. I wish we had one at home.

Food was alright but the service was awful. I had my food 15 minutes before my girlfriend. We were asked 3 times what was ordered. If you can't remember who ordered what then it's probably a good idea to get table numbers or write names on the food tickets.

We are always looking for new burger places. This place was awesome! The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted so delicious. The fries were real potatoes and also tasted delicious to go with the awesome fry sauce. The prices were awesome and the workers there were very friendly and seemed very happy. The owner also came out and joked with us and our kids. Great place! We will make this a go to place when we visit Seaside, OR again!

First impressions are strong, and I highly suggest that they look into better kitchen ventilation, because they were having a seafood special the day we came and the whole restaurant smelled strongly of fish! We were determined to try it so we stuck around despite the smell. As a lover of burgers, I was looking for a silver lining to my favorite bar(moody's) closing and this place moving in. They appear to still be getting completely up and running, so the decor is a little sparce, which isn't helped by the take out cups and soda fountain. They have you order at the counter and get your own drink, but then they bring the food to the table, the waitress checks up on you, and they bus the tables too. A part of me feels like making it into a full service would make more sense, since the waitress is already doing almost all that work. The menu is small, but the prices are good $7.25 for a 1/2lb double burger with fries and $7.99 for their 1/3lb signature burger which has ham and egg on it. My husband and I were both satisfied by our meals, the burgers were seasoned well and tasty, although the buns were standard fare. Hopefully when they open their bar, they will get rid of the to go cups and self serve drinks, because it felt awkward. I have two suggestions first being to add a western style burger that has an onion ring and bbq sauce, because there isn't anywhere else in town to find one. The second suggestion is to do something in the way of a kid's menu. A burger and fries joint in a casual style in Seaside is going to attract families, and there was really nothing I could order that wouldn't be way too much food for my kid. I ended up just asking for some extra fries, which they gave to me for a dollar, and she ate those. The opportunity for delivery is intriguing to me, so I will have to review again if we try that out.

Excellent! If you are in town and want a tasty burger, delicious fries, and a friendly staff this is the place to go. The prices are great and they don't charge for condiments (as the old menu suggests). The new owner informed us that he "doesn't have a freezer; everything is fresh!" If gluten free is your deal, they do accommodate.

Food was good, I wasn't too impressed, but decent non the less. I wanted to eat their ruben sandwich but the manager told me they were out of meat to make it. So I went with the double pattie burger. Overall the food was average, not bad but not great either. I'm sure you can find other burger joints around the same area that may be better.

We were at Seaside for vacation and had burgers delivered to our hotel room. The delivery was extremely fast and the food was hot and delicious. And all for a decent price.
