Good food, my 5 piece fish portions were fine, the wife's shrimp skewers were a little thin-but very good. It's on the strip, lots of turnover, lots of traffic. Prices were highest we have seen this weekend, but the food was good. If you do Pepsi-this place is for you. If you drink Coke, keep going. No splenda, so diabetics who drink Coke are going to have water with dinner. We would eat there again, diet coke in hand. Corking fee perhaps?

All you can eat Fish and chips is a scam (it wasn't really all you can eat) They took forever to give take our orders. Only one server the entire time. I guess they really are a crabby place. I'd suggest going to boardwalk instead.

Had lunch and had clam chowder and crab cakes. Food is very fast but is made fresh I think. You can tell they are well prepped and the menu is planned to have a quick turn around. Chowder was pretty good and the crab cakes had lots of crab. Service was quick and friendly. Place has a but or a rushed atmosphere but great for a quick bite.

I thought this place was going to show great promise; the Yelp review were pretty OK. However I was not please with the price vs. quality that you receive at this restaurant. You would think being on the Oregon Coast you would offer top quality seafood not the frozen mushy stuff we got. I will also add that the service was good however I am still trying to wrap my head around being asked at least 10 times if the food was OK? Why I must ask why ask so

I really wanted to give this place more stars because servers were fantastic. However, oyster stew was terrible and clam chowder left lots to be desired. Broth on both soups was tasteless and flat -- more milk with little oyster or clam flavoring. With all the other places to choose from in Seaside, I doubt we'll return.

This place was a decent little stop in. I was really in the mood for a full on shrimp meal and this was the only place in Seaside that had a legitimate shrimp meal on menu. My wife an I split their clam chowder soup and the "Shrimp and more Shrimp" plate. I liked it. It wasn't phenomenal, but it was solid. Ask for the spicy kind :)

Serving burgers, sandwiches and a variety of seafood. The place is small, but has a nice "surfer" "beach" vibe. Food was decent, I had the "CaliforniaSun" burger while my girlfriend had the Fish n Chips. My burger surprisingly didn't have much kick as I thought it would. There was jalapeños, chipotle mayo and pepper jack cheese but it wasn't as tasteful as I thought and the lettuce was a little wilted. A little bland but I was satisfied and ate the whole thing along with the nice crispy fries. The food was a little bit overpriced, but most of the places here are around the same. Service was fine, the lady was nice and wasn't impatient or rude. Overall, if you're looking for a burger around town, give it a try. It's not AMAZING, but it'll most likely do.

Nice clean place for a pit stop on the boardwalk! Had the shrimp basket and Hubbs had the cod basket-both were great!! Plenty to get that next bit of energy!!

Yumola! The burgers are fantastic and the fish and chips are the best we have ever had. On top of all this, the waitress was a sweetheart. This place is a family friendly winner.

Amazing food! I'm extremely picky about my seafood and this was the best I have ever had! The salmon and chips was delicious and the clam chowder was the best I have ever had! Love this place! Will definitely return!

The food, was just ok. Not really worth a money spent on this. But it is after all beach town, thus you'll have to pay for the tourist prices. I brought my cousins who were visiting from Hong Kong and their friends to Seaside. The kids are not used to having such a big beach so it was nice to see them run around freely. My cousin decided to try this place out. It's a nice little place but it does look more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. I had the salmon sandwich, it wasn't bad at all. A little over cooked, but it really was not bad at all. My wife had the pan fried oysters sandwich, she didn't really say much about it. She thought the oysters were more deep fried than pan fried. Fries were a little limp. As for my cousins and their friends, they thought it was alright. They were not "wowed" by it, but they were ok with it. I didn't ask their friends on how they thought the food was, but my cousins agreed that the food, was just ok. Service is up and down. I understand that they were busy at times, but there were times when we didn't see the server for a while. Would I try this place again?...

Overpriced, slow, and not very good. Not sure what more to say, there are many better options in the area.

  • Roger G.

The food is ok, but I expected better for the price. The fish and chips was more oily than I would have expected for $16. The service was fair.

The location of this place was great right at the end of Broadway next to the rides and arcade so decided to give it a try. Service We walked in during dinner time and we got seated immediately which was a plus. However then there seemed to be confusion over who would take our orders. Took well over 10 minutes before we got water and was unable to even get a refill on my soda. Decor The place was clean and had nice bright colors. Had a nice open floor plan and good natural lighting. Nothing fancy no complaints. Food I got a California burger with Chipotle mayo and fried jalapeños. Burger is your only non seafood option, but give this is at the beach not a big surprise. I will say there were more types of burgers then at most joints around here. I asked for medium and got well, but outside of that the sauce was surpisingly good. My wife and daughter split an order of crab cakes and cod fish and chips. They enjoyed those and they looked well made. The salad was low on greens and tiny but got the job done. Overall not a bad place, much more relaxed atmosphere then places like Normas and the location can't be beat. Just don't set you expectations too high and you will enjoy it.

Awful. Fish isn't fresh. Cole slaw is terrible. Our waitress snapped at us - twice. Tourist trap. Can't recommend if you like good fish prepared right.

If your a seafood lover order "the kitchen sink"! Its a Huge helping of the best the ocean has to offer, well prepared and oh so yummy! Service is good and very friendly. We will be going back here soon.

Even though the food is ok, REALLY BAS SERVICE, I will not be coming back. And the price is ok.

Surprised to see so many bad reviews for this place. My wife, son and I had a wonderful experience here. We were in town for Spring break and yes, this place was packed, yes, the service was a bit slow but the food was excellent and our server was busting her a** off. Wish I would have caught her name- she was an older gal but the hardest worker there. I ordered the Crab Melt and it was probably the best I've ever had. A little pricey but worth it once I took a bite into it. My wife ordered the Kitchen Sink and she loved it! Both were fresh and packed with favor. We will definitely return next time we visit.

We had burgers. They were huge. My teen kids thought it was amazing. My husband and I liked it too. Not too expensive.

No clue why this spot has bad reviews. Typical casual beach town kitsch, surf tunes, AMAZINGLY fresh fish (we had the cod and the halibut), and attentive, friendly service. Would return.

The food at the Crabby Oyster outshines it's unassuming atmosphere. The service was attentive and fantastic. We were checked on multiple times by our server and possibly the manager. Despite being busy they easily took care of my family of eight and were extremely accommodating. The hero of the Crabby Oyster is definitely the food. From Fish & Chips to Clam Chowder it tops Seaside for flavor and value.

We stopped in out of the rain, a family of 5, looking for a good quick burger. The 1 waitress was friendly, although very busy serving 7 tables with 2 or more at each table. The end result was not something to brag about or return to-overpriced not great food. Burgers tasted fishy, grilled chicken had dried out long before I met it, and the toppings to the burger were sad tomatoes and browned lettuce. Fries were the best thing on our plates. Friendly doesn't save food, sorry, we wanted to like Crabby's, as it was a safe haven from the rain.

    (2)
  • MyAnne K.

Food is poor quality. The oyster shooters are huge and unmanageable to eat. The management needs to improve the food quality because it's such a shame to serve nasty food in a cute beach town.

    (1)
  • Gina K.

The good: The server was really friendly The seafood was excellent - it was really fresh The portions were big The drinks stayed filled The bad: The salad was very odd: dark greens with a couple cucumber rounds and celery sticks. They were out of oysters and shrimp/prawns (not an entirely bad thing as they get their seafood fresh). The menu was on the expensive side.

Came to seaside for spring break and wanted a fast and family friendly seafood restaurant that didn't break the bank, after doing some yelping, decided to try out the Crabby Oyster. I gave it 3 stars for over all experience based on price, service and food quality. With 2adults and 1child we were able to all share the kitchen sink, the crab was decent, slightly over cooked but tasted good, the muscles and clams were way too chewy and little to no flavor again over cooked, but potatoes were almost raw. On a good note and the main reason I gave 3 stars was the Clam chowder and fries were delicious and the side salad was fresh and crisp. The service was ok, she was friendly. The overall price was decent for the amount of food and splitting most everything always helps the budget!

This place was great. Very friendly staff, great food, and great decor. The food was some of the best I have had. I had forgotten my bag at the table. Our lovely server was kind enough to keep it aside for me even though it was hours before I even realized. They went above and beyond to get it back to me, and I will be forever great full. It shows they care, and I appreciate that, it seems hard to find these days. Thanks for a great experience. Strongly Recommend!!

The service was slow. During a busy weekend three was only one server, bussing her own tables, taking the order, running the food, and dealing with guests at the counter. We ordered the grilled salmon sandwich and the oyster po boy. The salmon smelt fishy, which is one sign of it not being fresh. It was overcooked, dry and on a hoagie roll that did not fit the cut off salmon. Such an awkward sandwich. Lettuce, tomato and lemon aioli. The sauce could have saved the taste of the sandwich but it wasn't close to being good. My fiance's oyster po boy was undercooked, ill prepped, and the hoagie bread was dry. We over heard the server tell another table that the oysters were the freshest thing on the menu. Such a pity they weren't executed properly. The fries were what saved my appetite. I gave this place two stars because the beer was cold and the fries were good. Sucks that a seafood restaurant on the beach can't even manage to cook their seafood properly.

  • Megan B.

This place was fine. It was okay. I probably won't return, just because there are so many other options and it didn't particularly stand out. I got the three piece fish and chips, and I was going to order the clam chowder but they were all out. :( My fish was a bit under done and oddly, juicy? I had a bite of my boyfriends expensive burger and it was the opposite of juicy. However, it was still good. It's just a little overpriced and a bit underwhelming. Dang, the potato salad was yummy though!

    (3)
  • Willy G.

Had the fish and chips with a lettuce wedge. The fish was underdone and a bit soggy. Also service was ok at best it took 15-20 min to get the salads then the food came out while still eating salads. But the fries were ok. Also they were out of clams, crabs, mussels, and oysters. But the fries were ok. Did I mention that and the soda was cold so that's a plus.

  • Diana B.

Absurdly slow service. VERY rude waitress, an older blonde woman. Seemed to have an issue with us bringing our children, maybe assumed they would be a problem? They weren't! Even so, I heard her have the audacity to apologize to the table next to us for their being near them, as we were leaving. WTF?? The only saving grace was the tasty food. Not worth the price, unfortunately, when paired with that staff. Unbelievable. Wish we would've read the service reviews before wasting so much daylight here.

Not sure why this place has the rating it does. We had great service and excellent Fish and Chips. I think the people who rated it poorly were expecting Skippers style experience. (Food now who cares about taste). The halibut fish and chips will not disappoint!

We were in Seaside for Spring Break. The restaurant looked great - cute decor, clean, bright and airy. The hostess/waitress was friendly. The food was just OK - and pretty pricey. We ended up spending over $44 for lunch - before tip. My husband and I both had the three piece halibut fish and chips. Our daughter had kids fish and chips. We ordered two soft drinks. The fries were slightly overcooked and greasy. Still tasted pretty good. The fish was definitely good - but I've certainly had better. We will try someplace new next time.

Just had a salad and chowder today . Chowder was good . Everyone around us ordered fish and chips which looked great but we were dieting. This place Seemed about par for Seaside dining option.

  • Emily V.

I came here for lunch and ordered the salmon fish and chips with oyster stew. The entree was pretty reasonably priced for the quality. It was tasty and filling (I went for the 3 piece option, 5 would have been overkill). The oyster stew's base and oyster pieces were quite delicious, though the rest of it was a bit hard to get through. A chowder would have been preferable. Overall it wasn't a bad stop. I'm not sure how the seafood prices compare to the rest of the town because I was only in for the day and I live in a landbound state where the prices were comparable. The decor was a little tacky, but not overbearingly so. It was also one of the closest places to the beach with nearby parking, so it's a very convenient location.

The food here is good. The service is rediculous. I have been here twice now and both times it has taken an hour to get our food. If I'm spending $33 on a plate of food I expect it to be here at a reasonable time..

    (2)
  • Robert S.

This is exactly what I want, and expect, when it comes to fresh "comfort" seafood. Nothing outrageous on the menu that can scare some people off, courteous staff, and prices are very reasonable. This is just your typical clam chowder, fish and chips, joint that I've always loved going to at home, that is here at a new vacation spot. Thank you!!

I was really excited to try some good seafood at Seaside. All I have to say is, wow this place is horrible. The menus were sticky which was gross and their oyster shooters were flavorless. This place is overpriced too. Avoid this place! My finance and I ended up getting sick. Never. Again.

Seen a guy walking down the street with a basket of fish n chips and it looked really good! He told us he got it from The Crabby Oyster. So, we decided to go there for dinner. The hubby ordered the pan fried oysters, oldest daughter the oyster po boy, the middle girl and I the cod fish n chips, and finally, my boy had chicken tenders. Fish n chips good first few bites, but then all I could taste was grease. Masked that with a lot of tarter and ketchup. The pan fried oysters were really soggy and the hubby sent them back. She removed it from our bill. He ended up just eating the coleslaw-!he was over it. :( daughter said the oysters didn't have any seasoning. She didn't finish it...She said she'd never eat it again and we all agreed we wouldn't come back. Staff was nice though.

Not sure why this place has the rating it does. I've never left a review before, but this place warrants my first, because the review does not represent the food or service. I decided not to eat here one day after seeing the rating, but gave it a chance after seeing someone on the street eating the dish and chips. We asked them how it was and they said really good. So glad we are here, because they have excellent fish and chips, tastes very fresh. Really big portions, excellent service, great atmosphere! We will definitely come back next time we are in Seaside!

Just ate there on May 10th and they were awesome! We were greeted by a very sweet woman whose name I did not catch. She seemed happy to have us there and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. Our waiter, Will, was also friendly and was prompt in getting us our menus and drinks. The decor was light and clean and the chairs were comfortable. Their menu was pretty decent and everybody had a hard time choosing what they wanted because everything sounded delicious! All but one of our party chose to get a cup of clam chowder for an appetizer and we were not disappointed! Easily one of the most flavorful and fresh tasting clam chowders I've eaten. The other member of our group got the onion ring appetizer. I think she regretted that decision though because they were so fresh and delicious, we all stole one (or two....)! Our meal came in pretty average time. Not "fresh outta the microwave" fast or "we slaughter our cows to order" slow. Just right. I ordered the Pipeline burger which had blue cheese and bacon. The bun was toasted to a soft crisp and the bacon had the perfect amount of crunch to it. Their fries were a darker shade but nowhere near burnt. They were fresh and seasoned just right. Was also impressed with their dipping ranch! The rest of my party was pretty impressed with their dinners as well. We all left full, happy, and vowing to return. Just a quick note about our waiter Will. He didn't make waiting our table seem like a job. He was just a naturally good natured person and genuinely seemed happy to help. My sister was attempting to eat an oyster shooter and instead of making it in her mouth, pretty much just dumped it on her chest. Even though it was hilariously and entirely her own fault, Will saw and graciously brought her a fresh one. "Like it never happened", he said. Bottom line: we WILL come back and I cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks for the awesome time and great meal, Crabby Oyster!

As I am writing my review I am remembering how annoyed I was that day... Volleyball tournament in town and everywhere was sooooo busy! We were able to get right in and get served immediately turning my mood around. A cold beer and fish and chips.... doesn't get much better that that. I've had fish n chips a time or two in my life and these were right up there with some of the better tasting ones. The service was actually pretty good. I know coastal towns have a lot of turn over, but our waitress seemed on the ball. What appeared to be the owner or manager made it a point to check up on us which is always nice. Would I eat here again? Yes! Would I come to Seaside on volley ball weekend again? No! I also would recommend the burger that has cream cheese and bbq sauce. I had that the time before and it was amazing too.

Had the oyster stew and kitchen sink steam pot. The oyster stew was really good and the kitchen sink was crap in comparison to Joe's Crab Shack steam pots. As for cleanliness my buddies clam chowder had a hair in it and when I received my kitchen sink steam pot it a had a twelve inch long hair in it. Seriously maybe once in a while I would find a hair in my food but hair in both meals, come on now. That's probably why they call it a kitchen sink steam pot. The waiter gave us a 10% discount for the inconvinence and unsanitary meals which I think was pretty lame. I usually don't give one star reviews but this place deserves it for sanitary issues.

We dropped in on the Labor Day weekend and was seated quickly; 8 in our party. The staff were very friendly and continuously checked in on us to make sure all was good. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is once we had our food and we were ready to leave it did take some time to get our check.

Service was great but the burger meat tasted weird, the fries were awful and the oyster shooters were funky. Best thing was the glass of sprite. Very sad with the food here. For the costly price it's not worth it at all!

Nice clean place for a pit stop on the boardwalk! Had the shrimp basket and Hubbs had the cod basket-both were great!! Plenty to get that next bit of energy!!

Not sure why this place has the rating it does. We had great service and excellent Fish and Chips. I think the people who rated it poorly were expecting Skippers style experience. (Food now who cares about taste). The halibut fish and chips will not disappoint!

Just had a salad and chowder today . Chowder was good . Everyone around us ordered fish and chips which looked great but we were dieting. This place Seemed about par for Seaside dining option.

We dropped in on the Labor Day weekend and was seated quickly; 8 in our party. The staff were very friendly and continuously checked in on us to make sure all was good. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is once we had our food and we were ready to leave it did take some time to get our check.

Service was great but the burger meat tasted weird, the fries were awful and the oyster shooters were funky. Best thing was the glass of sprite. Very sad with the food here. For the costly price it's not worth it at all!

Two big things stopped me from giving this place more stars. It deserves 3. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the mac and cheese for my daughter, my husband and I nearly ate it all for her - it was top 3 ever. My son got a grilled cheese sandwich, it was typical (which is not bad). My husband and I ordered the crab cakes and cod fish and chips to share. The fish and chips were above average, I wasn't a huge fan of the potato salad, but I'm not a dill fan. The hubby loved it. Their fries were crispy and salty and sooo tasty! The big problemo with the food was the crab cakes. They came out to us barely warm. I'm not apologizing - I sent them back. For $18 there's no way I'm eating lukewarm food. The kitchen remade them and brought them back hot, and they were amazing. Best ever. Even at that, I'm not sure they were worth 18 bucks. The portion for the meal was not great and they were served with the spicy sauce you get at sushi joints. Again, not bad, but for the price? Our total bill was really ridiculous considering the amount of food we got, I would have expected to pay at least $1-2 less for each meal - even being on the main drag in Seaside. Between the cost and the food coming out basically cold the first time, 3 stars it is.

Excellent fish and chips. Giant pieces of scrumptious cod, perfectly battered. Very friendly staff. We inadvertently arrived fairly close to closing, but we were not made to feel rushed at all. I also left my camera there and it took a couple of days for me to realize were it was, the staff put it away and kept it safe for me until it could be picked up.

I ordered the crab and artichoke dip ($13.00) and a cup of clam chowder. My 19 year old son ordered the Salmon Chips ($17.00) and my youngest son, a burger. When we entered the restaurant there was 1 other party of 5 people waiting for their food. We waited over 30 minutes to receive the crab and artichoke dip while a party of 4 that sat down after us received their appetizers and entrees. Sigh, okay, well, perhaps it was simply a kitchen mix-up. What was more annoying is that the dip was less than a half of cup. I believe that I got 5 to 6 tablespoons out of it. It was delicious but not worth the high price. The rest of our order came after 40 minutes of waiting. I took one sip of the clam chowder and quickly decided I was not going to eat it. It was watery. Extremely unpleasant. The Salmon Chips were good. Fries were greasy..but, they are fries. :) My other son's burger was okay. I really tried hard to be nice to the waiter. We were all pleasant but he just wasn't interested in us at all. No apologies for the long wait or the untouched watery mess in a cup. He didn't even say "thank you" or "Have a nice day" or "How was your food?" He actually gave me the stink eye and didn't say a word as handed me $45 check. Ouch! Go to Norma's next door. You won't be disappointed!

The staff was very pleasant!! The food was wonderful and tasty!! To other posts if you are familiar with the fishing industry as my family is, you do have to freeze the fish at some point to keep it fresh on the fishing boat as well as at the restaurant!! Also a lot of bottom fish are caught in colder waters up north. Cod is a very good and tasty fish and can be caught in a fishing town with a pier full of fishing boats which I didn't see in the first place! Any way our experience was great so we went in for another meal and was wonderful AGAIN!! And by the by we are experienced restaurant eaters, been to a few restaurants in our day!!

As I predicted, the previous business (El Rinconcito / Taco Shark) that occupied this hot location bit the dust. It just goes to show that even though you offer great prices, if it is contaminated with poor service, questionable quality food, unprofessional ownership, and apathy, the business will soon see its demise. The new owners did a great job remodeling this spot and clearing out the dismal vibe that once inhabited the space. The Crabby Oyster is open, airy, bright, and fresh. Plenty of seating with a nice, open flow. Some really nice design elements. It will be fun to watch the space find itself further and settle in to stay. We purposely waited a couple of weeks before we tried it, to let them get their first steps all worked out. These folks are not strangers to the Seaside demographic, as they own another eatery in the vicinity that has a good reputation and serves quality food. My first review is based on a very simple order of chowders and iced teas for two. My lovely lass and I are chowder fans and can normally judge a spot based upon their chowder and bread. It is the litmus test for many places here on the coast. FIRST IMPRESSIONS -- * Friendly, Prompt, and Attentive Service. Our hostess / server was cheerful and sweet. *Clean, casual, open dining area with a fresh vibe. * Clam Chowder was very fresh and had an amazing flavour. A little thinner than I normally like, but the flavour was well balanced with great clam flavour and just the right amount of potato. Our bowls did not come with bread and butter (It's an Irish thing), but the server happily brought us some upon request. *Iced teas were fresh brewed and crisp. Not that glorified Kool Aide that some laces pass off as tea. *Observing the meals served around us, we noticed and heard many compliments upon the freshness of the seafood. It is delivered fresh daily. The fish and chips looked delicious. All hand prepared and deep fried to perfection. *Salads looked fresh and appealing as well. No iceberg / prepacked junk. Actual greens with variety. * Prices seemed on the higher end for many items. I tried to take an average price per item at some of the local places as a baseline, and Crabby Oyster came in about two to three dollars higher per item than most. For example, a bowl of chowder was $7. Just chowder and crackers. At that price, it should automatically come with fresh bread or garlic toast. I realize quality has a price, but the prices are what make or break a restaurant, especially when the first impression is from what a tourist or first time visitor see on a posted menu out front. Also, locals like ourselves are the ones that keep you afloat in the off-season. Entice us to spend during these lean times at your spot. ** A note to owners -- I would humbly propose looking at some of the competition's prices in your area. Take a sampling and review. Sam's Seaside Cafe (like Crabby Oyster, a casual, fun, family place) would be a wise spot to check, as it is essentially next door to you. If people are comparison pricing the area, they will use them as a comparison to your menu. Your prices should reflect your casual and fun vibe. It is confusing to have white table cloth / candles prices at a casual eatery. I want Crabby Oyster to do very well. It is nice to have businesses come in to the area that defy the "Coastal Norm" of sub-par service, bland food, and apathy toward customers. We look forward to sampling more off of their menu and reporting back soon.

We ate here today on a quick trip to seaside. We have seen many restaurants come and go here. This time it is refreshingly updated with pretty aqua and cute surf board lights and charming artwork. All fresh and nice and very comfortable and updated seating. I had the salmon fish and chips. Salmon is very rich fish and the greasy beer batter didn't do it justice. I would much prefer a light breading. The fries are quite good and the portion size was ample . They make their own potato salad, but something is missing in it. At least they are trying to put their own signature on their food. We noticed that the feature good old fashioned crab boil dinners. We might try that out next time. My hubs had a Hawaiian burger. It was way too big, messy and nearly impossible to eat. While the server was quite nice, the service was also quite slow. I think they might have something going here, but there is room for improvement.

We visited this spot on our recent getaway to Seaside and decided to try it out after checking out the menu hanging in the doorway. We were one of three parties dining (8pm, after the dinner rush), and it took a bit for the waitress to make it to us. It was easy to tell that the staff working was very minimal. Once we were greeted and helped, we had great and very friendly service. We found out that this place has only been open for three weeks - so I'm not surprised at some of the comments in the other reviews - as I'm sure they've been adjusting to the flow and pattern of customers. We watched the waitress give feedback to their buser about how to get the tables set up more properly for the next guests and were happy to see that she was friendly and constructive with how she treated her coworkers. We both ordered fish and chips - cod for me and salmon for my husband. The fries are hand cut and the fish seemed very fresh to us. The portions of salmon were disappointingly small compared to the portions of cod that I got, so I shared some of my food with my husband since I got so much more for the price. The price for our fish and chips seemed very reasonable, and it came with potato salad or coleslaw on the side. Our meals came as ordered and the food was ready very quickly. We liked our experience and hope this new business finds success.

The local IPA is nice size and goes perfect with any meal you would order here. The oysters were fleshy creamy and necessary to complete the meal. I ordered three cod fish and chips but you can choose from 3 fish options. The fries were fresh cut and well seasoned. The salad was above average with a balsam vinaigrette unlike any other (green and herby). The clam fritters had too much fritter but other wise a solid meal. Also conveniently located by the beach and parking.

After reading other reviews I have to say I agree with some but not others. We didn't way to long to be seated although it could have been quicker. We decided to split the large combination with an extra salad for my wife. The drink came quickly and our order was taken in an expeditious manner. The place was about 75% full. It took longer than it should for our order to arrive but it was worth the wait The crab leg seasoning was perfect as was everything else. We skipped dessert for a walk around the area but would definately come back. Prices seemed a little high and we didn't compare them with the restaurant next door as suggested but will later this week.

Saw an ad for this place in a little magazine at Ft Clatsop. Went in w/my wife and 2 daughters. We ordered a salmon platter, a basket of fries, and a $33 dish called "the kitchen sink". The waiter was completely uninterested in us from the start. I had to get up and go to the bar twice and get refills for my wife and kids' sodas. When he finally dropped off our food, he had neglected to place the order for my older daughter's basket of fries. I had to go run him down and ask him for them. She got them about the time we were all finished eating. The place wasn't crowded at all so that might have been part of the reason we were treated so poorly. A table of 3 ladies came in and looked like they were going to get some great service and attention. They ended up leaving without ordering anything for some reason. Anyway, if you want to eat at a place with bland food, high tourist extortion prices, loud music, and inept waitstaff; this place will be like Heaven for you!!!

I quite enjoyed it here. Being almost completely empty, they should have moved a small table over to a table of 4 to accomodate us a 5, instead of just putting a chair at the end of the 4 table, which made things pretty crowded. Otherwise the service was friendly, the food was pretty tasty. The cod, halibut and albacore fish & chips were decent portioned, and the batter was light, crispy and seasoned nicely. Fried oysters were quite delicious. Good amount of crab in the crab artichoke dip. Mint cheesecake could have used a bit more mintiness.

Great restaurant! It was super busy and clearly popular but we waited only about 5 minutes for a table for 3. They gave us a kid's coloring page and some crayons for our little one, and took our drink order right away. The server recommended a local beer, which my husband enjoyed. The food is a little spendy but totally worth it, the serving sizes are really large, and the food is so delicious! We ordered the crab cakes, and it came with 3 large ones, and a side of potato salad which was AMAZING!!! We also got the 5 cod pieces fish and trips, which was huge with a giant pile of fries and potato salad. Both were delicious, and cooked perfectly. The staff are friendly and polite, and the service is pretty quick, especially for a really busy place. When people were waiting for tables, the servers gave them drinks, which you don't usually see. Highly recommend!

We went in expecting a nice seafood lunch. We expected a seafood restaurant so close to the ocean to serve fresh not frozen fish... This was not the case at The Crabby Oyster. The food was bland, the bread was stale, and the chips were so over seasoned that we had to wipe them on a napkin before eating. On top of all that we had to remind them of half the items that we had ordered (even though they were listed on the menu and we ordered them with no substitutions). The waitress was very nice and friendly, but the food was so bad that we will not be returning here again.

Stopped in for lunch with the family. The special of the day was all you can eat fish & chips for $12 or so, and my husband almost ordered it until the waitress shared with us that it wasn't fresh or local, it was just frozen "Alaskan" cod (also known as pollock, and with a bit of googling, you can see how disgusting pollock is). The waitress did her best to cheerfully convince my husband to get the fish & chips, claiming it's practically fresh since they freeze it on the boat! But no, it's not fresh, and we weren't buying what she was selling. Despite there only being one other family there, our food took a ridiculously long time to arrive. We all were getting a little hangry (hungry/angry) when the waitress finally appeared with our lunch. The food was decent, nothing special. They claim the fries were cut in-house, but since the waitress thinks frozen fish is fresh, I'm not sure they didn't just buy them at Safeway. Decor was cute, the restaurant was clean and fresh... and empty, even at lunch time. Not surprising, when you consider the food was only okay, the fish was frozen, and the service was painfully slow.... I can't imagine any locals eat here!

With tip I paid 26 bucks for two over cooked hamburgers, pops, and fry's . Sorry but that's a lot for what I had. Wetdog in Astoria has the best and in Seaside try Dundees, same street half mile east.

We waited a decent amount of time for a table, and an extended period of time to order our food. The food took quite a while to get to us and when it did, the order was wrong. We got the attention of the waitress who seemed rather flustered in general. Instead of offering to correct the order, she asked my husband if he would just eat his food as it was and she would comp the meal.... Okay. The place was cramped and the wait staff really seemed out of their element during the busy rush. On top of all that, the burgers were not very good. Pretty disappointing experience and we probably won't go back.

Wow, I was so disappointed! The server didn't know the menu and didn't know what drinks they offered. I ordered their $22.00 crab cakes dinner. What I got was a bunch of filler swimming in grease, they were cold, the waitress tried to tell me that it was "snow crab" but it wasn't. The owner came out to apologize and stated that the cook used filler instead of crab meat. Then we could hear him yelling at the cook. I can't believe I paid over $35.00 for 3 crab fritters (that had no crab in them), 2 sodas and fish & chips ( which were soggy as well )... over all... not happy with them.

It's difficult to understand what they are trying to do there. It's a hideously ugly restaurant in a primo location, they charge an arm and leg, but serve very low-brow type of food. It's a head-scratcher. As others have mentioned, their wait staff were not very helpful. Very brusque to the point of being rude. I sure won't go back.

Stopped in here on a Monday when we found out that the restaurant we originally wanted to go to was closed. Service was prompt and friendly. The burgers were incredible! Mine had fried jalapeno's and it was a top-ten burger for me.

With tip I paid 26 bucks for two over cooked hamburgers, pops, and fry's . Sorry but that's a lot for what I had. Wetdog in Astoria has the best and in Seaside try Dundees, same street half mile east.

Food is poor quality. The oyster shooters are huge and unmanageable to eat. The management needs to improve the food quality because it's such a shame to serve nasty food in a cute beach town.

I was really excited to try some good seafood at Seaside. All I have to say is, wow this place is horrible. The menus were sticky which was gross and their oyster shooters were flavorless. This place is overpriced too. Avoid this place! My finance and I ended up getting sick. Never. Again.

The food here is good. The service is rediculous. I have been here twice now and both times it has taken an hour to get our food. If I'm spending $33 on a plate of food I expect it to be here at a reasonable time..

Thank you!!
