Pretzel bagels. That is all. (They also have other awesome offerings in the form of bagel and bagel sandwiches, but I pledge my allegiance to the all-mighty pretzel)

I love this place. I make a point to stop here every time I go to Seaside. You have to try the Good Morning Santa Fe breakfast sandwich.

One of the better places in Seaside to eat, if that actually means anything. It's all relative, right? Bagels were good, but I thought the nickel and diming was pretty ridiculous though...$.45 extra to use your credit card...$.25 extra for a wheat bagel (?when it's posted that bagels are $1.00). Who does that?

We've been going to Seaside for almost a decade for Spring Break and never ate here until this year. The bagels are delish but be very pricy. We ordered two BLT+A on everything bagel, plain bagel with cream cheese and plain bagel pepperoni pizza and it came out to over $27. Don't expect Panera bread seating. It's basically a seating area with mix match outdated furniture. They do have free WiFi so that's a plus. I'm not sure but I think they have a drive-thru. Overall, the bagels were good and delish but we'll skip it next year.

It is so ridiculously hard to find a good bagel in the Pacific NW. It's a language that is just not spoken here. So, what a wondrous surprise it was to happen upon this establishment during my recent stay in Seaside! We went through the drive-thru, where a nice young man assisted us. I ordered an onion bagel with cream cheese. Oh. My. GOSH. I was instantly transported back to the East Coast goodness I was raised on. So, so amazingly awesome. The bagel was perfect, the dried onions were crispy and not slimy, and the cream cheese was nothing short of incredible. Man, I needed that.

In retrospect, this is where we should have had breakfast. It's in an old bank building. There is off street parking. The food looks great. The restrooms were lovely and clean. There was plenty of seating. It has a comfy, local vibe that we appreciated. The espresso was hot and yummy. They cooled off my daughter's hot chocolate after noticing it was for a kid ( which I had forgotten to tell them). So nice! We will have to go back.

Overall okay. I am a huge bagel fan, and even do crazy bagel stuff like make my own lox and cure my own capers. Still, this place was so-so. First, the initial smell of the place wasn't that inviting to me. Just seemed a little odd. Next, I went and ordered a bagel and lox with no cream cheese, because I was to go surfing and dairy and exercise don't mix. When I got it back, I found it had cream cheese on it, even though I made a point of saying no cheese. I didn't send it back because there was a line and I had to meet my cousins at Tillamook head in five minutes. I threw up during the middle of a wave.

Pros: Open relaxed vibe with plenty of seating. Excellent savory bagels toasted to perfection. Cons: Prices are high. They charge a fee to use a debit card (just adjust your prices accordingly!). No changing table in the bathroom (a recent peeve). Butternut crunch bagel was literally ~50% clumps of sugar. Overall it is a great place to get a snack in Seaside and I will continue to consume their amazing bagels.

I'm a local , been here perhaps a dozen times. Good food , good service. if it wasn't one of my favorites I would tell you. Easy parking , tables inside and out. My favorite is a tuna melt on a sesame bagel.

  • Jeremy B.

Wow, fast service and great food, despite the masses needing to feast after Hood to Coast. We came here after putting our names on countless waiting lists around town. We got right in here and loved it. Thanks!

  • Mallory D.

The lox here are wonderful and the bagels are so light. Great place to grab breakfast.

Where else in Seaside am I going to get a bagel that's not wrapped in shrink wrap and served with a packet of Philly cream cheese? Exactly. The converted bank doesn't exactly scream ambiance, but it gets the job done and it's much better than when they used to be in the strip mall by Safeway back in the olden days. My wife and I hit this place nearly every time we're in town. The bagels are always tasty, they have a ton of cream cheese options, and it doesn't feel like a tourist trap (i.e.- you see locals eating here). One tip: We have learned that the garlic cream cheese is not messing around. It packs a garlic punch. Garlic cream cheese is not for lovers. Be forewarned.

Having driven by this so many times (we stay in Cannon Beach 2x a yr), we stopped yesterday for breakfast. Sorry that we hadn't checked it out sooner. Great building and really liked the feel inside, very comfy. Decided to eat outside as it was a pleasant morning out, nice seating option out front. We both had the breakfast bagel with cheese, scrambled eggs and bacon. So delish, but for me wow I couldn't finish it, piled so high. The blueberry bagel looked wonderful after we left I was sorry we didn't take a couple with us. They have a nice variety of cream cheese spreads, so many types to try on a return visit. Friendly staff and many bagel choices, def a new spot to stop at when we return. Would like to try the lunch sandwiches, bet they are delish too.

I never had the opportunity to even try their food! I am so turned off by the rudeness and lack of decent customer service after what I experienced today that I will never even attempt to eat there again. Walked in at around 3 in the afternoon on a Wednesday, and here was my rude greeting by what appeared to be a manager or owner: "I was just about to lock the doors..what's up?!, What did you want?!" along with an annoyed look and tone that told me loud and clear I was not welcome at that time and an inconvenience. I just kind of held my hands up (never mind) and retreated out of there. I have worked in customer service my whole life and this was not only lousy but unacceptable customer service in the industry. If you are about to close, you do not announce that to the customer that made it through, you simply serve them (even, "we are only taking to go orders as we are getting ready to close" is acceptable!) with the great customer care you would offer to any other customer who was important to your business. If you took the extra 2 minutes this would have taken and treated me like a valuable customer (as I am a local and here year round), you could have earned a loyal, year round customer. Instead, the 2 seconds you took to convince me never to return, earned you this review.

I originally went to Bagels by the Sea on a recommendation by a coworker, and I am very thankful to him for that. This place is an old converted bank and has very little in the way of atmosphere. However, I have only been there early in the morning, and I was never awake enough to care about the decor. Besides, they make up for it with the quality of their bagels. The bagels are dense and delicious. I have had them with a smear of cream cheese and made into a sandwich, and they are great either way. Beware of the bagels covered in brown sugar. They look much more delicious than they actually are. Finally, bring cash because they take cards but charge a fee.

    (4)
  • Paul G.

Read lots of positive reviews but none of them compared to the awesomeness of the taste of their blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. I can honestly say that it's truly one of a kind. Even their Italian drip coffee was excellent. I will definately be back next time I'm in Seaside, Oregon.

  • Jim D.

Very serviceable breakfast. I didn't want to barf, so avoided the pig restaurant everyone else was going to. If you are in seaside and want some reasonable coffee and tasty bagels, go here! it's quiet, and fresh. Very welcomed in Seaside.

  • Cody W.

I was unbelieving going in, and singing the gospel coming out. The best bagels I've ever had, bar none. Perfectly dichotomous textures, crisp skin and soft, fluffy insides. Tremendously creative designer bagel flavors loaded improbably full of tempting fresh ingredients. We had the bacon-cheddar and blueberry streussel bagels w/plain cream cheese. Both were fantastic. Fresh, whole, bursting blueberries. Crisp, savory bacon crumbles strewn in a golden-baked crusty lava of cheddar. These bagels are big --125% the size of the Costco resales you'd normally find in a coffee shop. Even the cream cheese is softer and smoother than I've ever had. And the baking incrediblousity is jessst gettin' warmed up! Be sure to grab a rich, coconutty Nanaimo bar for the road (where else south of the maple leaf can you grab those!)

    (5)
  • Mary S.

Love the diversity in the bagels and the sandwiches. I loved loved loved the food. I will definitely return. I really appreciated that there were locals there. And the servers knew their names and their regular orders.

    (5)
  • J R.

Great bagels and bagel sandwiches, everything is a bit over priced, the coffee is not good, lots of parking and seating.

    (3)
  • Cody H.

Had the bbq beef on a pepperjack bagel and it was delicious. I'd consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to bbq (meaning that I order it every chance I get) and this was surprisingly one of the best I've ever had. Bravo Bagels by the Sea.

  • Tabitha B.

Crazy-good bagels with cream cheese memories are made of. I ordered the bacon and cheese bagel with vegetable cream cheese, which was spread perfectly: enough to be flavorful and decadent, but not so much that you feel like you're choking on some evil curse sent by Paula Deen. Service was quick, and you could either take the delicious bagel for a walk or hang out for a while. I like those choices. Though they have heavier fare like the breakfast sandwich, it's nice to have a lighter choice. With sweet and savory choices, there's something for everyone here. This would definitely be my first choice for a quick, original breakfast on the northern half of the Oregon coast.

    (4)
  • Payton S.

Had a very bad experience there today. The people who work there are mean ! And they burned the bagel !

    (1)
  • Jill S.

First of all, I would definitely return to Bagels By the Sea. Their savory bagels are very good. But I'm also fond of sweets and somehow, the combination of sweet with a bagel hasn't been perfected--at least not by this place. We've purchased the Butter Crunch and Apple, as well as Raspberry and Blueberry. The concept is good, but the yummy fruit and filling just falls through the middle hole when you try to toast it, even in the oven on a cookie sheet. I also really struggled trying to slice the Butter Crunch bagel in half. The entire middle, comprised of butter and sugar fell out like a hard lump about the size of a golf ball. Stick with the savory varieties and/or have them slice and toast for you.

Best bagels I've ever had and I have to stop there at least twice a week for breakfast.

  • ILove Foo D.

We ate here twice while in town and it is a new favorite breakfast spot for us. The service is pleasant and bagels delicious. The Eggle Bagel is piled with fluffy egg and the Brunch Bagel was a good combo of bacon and avocado. The Lox bagel with salmon cream cheese was the best and was not overpoweringly fishy or smoky - well worth the price. Coffee is ok there but you go for the bagels, not the coffee.

    (4)
  • Clare B.

The food was so so, the prices were extremely high ($2.75 for orange juice, $3.75 for yogurt parfait), plus the charge a fee for using your card. We bought breakfast and my son didn't like his bagel. So I sent him to get a yogurt and they charged the fee again. The manager refused to reverse the fee, even in light of not liking the bagel. Poor customer service by the manager, though I gave two stars for friendly staff.

    (2)
  • Marty M.

Good selection of bagels and spreads however I thought they put too much cream cheese on their bagels. Taste was ok, staff was friendly and quick. Coffee was good. Overall, good option if you want a quick breakfast.

    (4)
  • Karl W.

These bagels are as close to perfect as you can eat and the cream cheeses are deliciously flavored without being over the top. Inside a spacious converted former bank, the environment is pleasant and comfortable and the coffee and smoothies are good too. We tried the asiago cheese, bacon and cheddar, and the works bagels with different cream cheeses. The garlic herb, tomato pesto, and smoked salmon were all tasty. Would recommend. Service is prompt and prices quite reasonable for a tourist area. Also, restrooms are very nice and clean, making it the perfect place to stop on your way home from a relaxing vacation.

  • Roger C.

Stay away. My wife made the mistake of ordering an egg salad. When we tried to return it due to the bad taste...and oh by the way...ordered another ten dollars worth of food. The Owner gave us half our money back on the egg salad. When we complained...he threw the additional money at us and complained " we have to make money around here". What else are they doing to:"make money at your expense" and do you want a hassle with breakfast?

    (2)
  • Randall B.

Great locals hang out, close to the hotels. Easy walk to the beach down town shopping.

    (5)
  • Annie J.

Listen: if you are visiting Seaside, and you're looking for a non-Starbucks breakfast option, you might wanna stop here. They've got a variety of different bagels, spreads (strawberry cream cheese!), and sandwiches to choose from. The staff is friendly and quick. Let's not kid ourselves though, the bagels here are not good. I would say they are on par with a supermarket bagel. But unlike a supermarket, Bagels By the Sea will toast them for you so they are much more edible and enjoyable. So there's that. The space itself seems like an old bank or diner? Definitely not a bagel shop. It's big with tons of tables and high ceilings. Parking is easy!

  • Shannon M.

On vacation from the east coast doing a 12 day trip along the Oregon coast and today was our first day. We wanted to keep it simple for breakfast so we decided to search for a bagel place and I am extremely happy we found this place on yelp. I had the blueberry cobbler and my boyfriend had the bacon cheddar. Hands down one of the best bagels I have ever had. It was perfection!

    (5)
  • Johanna K.

I've never been disappointed with my usual - NuDelhi Chicken Salad on a Pepper jack bagel. Their blueberry and raspberry bagels are also amazing with a streusel crumb center. They make great espresso, too. Food is always warm, quick, and delicious! We always come here at least twice during spring break.

  • Melissa L.

I love me a good bagel shop. Their prices were reasonable, but not great. Service was efficient enough. Had the "Best of Lox" - served with cream cheese, lox, and a bagel - not with the traditional onions/capers/tomatoes. Unsure if they were available as I have to be in the mood for those accoutrements. The onion bagel was good, but mostly had dehydrated onions on top that I was a little unsure about the texture. Good bagel places are hard to find, and I was surprised to find one in such a small town - definitely give this place a go if you're looking for a quick and delicious bite to eat!

  • Paul S.

Coffee and cappuccino is fantastic,righteous.... on the point!. Excellent bagels great cream cheese. Eggler with your choice of sausage bacon etc great! Bagel and lox (smoked salmon, tomatoes, onion and cream cheese) very good variety of other sandwiches all menu all day I would go there everyday if it was in my town. Breakfast bagel s/w will do you good till late lunch. Ambience is good seems like an old bank building. price is just right staff are super nice

  • Kris J.

You know the type of "bagel" grocery stores are selling these days? They have the texture of soft bread and no hole in the middle? The kind that most people buy into because they're puffier and bigger than real bagels? This is achieved by skipping the boiling step required of creating a chewey, real bagel. Not only is that the crap they serve, they automatically toast them. A trick that Quiznos learned so they can serve day old bread. If you like puffy bread with the same finishes as real bagels (sesame seeds, garlic, etc ) and prefer paying much more than what the grocery stores are passing off as bagels these days, then you've found the right place. Even if Safeway is a couple of blocks away.

Never in my life! Arrived at 2:40pm pretty quickly chose my order stepped up to the counter order a mocha and bagel the young girl taking my order says just to let you know we close at 3:00pm. My response was what does that mean for us she replies we have to lock the doors at 3:00pm my next question so your telling me that at 3:00pm your going to ask us to leave the girl looks around at her co-workers and says yes you will be asked to leave. To make sure we were clear I asked again if I am eating when it's time for you to close I will have to get up and leave? Yes was my answer. I left and went somewhere else I have never been told to leave while eating in any food establishment because it was time to close. Will never attempt to eat there again.

    (1)
  • Amelie H.

Their service is nice, their bagels were good! But the drip coffee doesn't taste good. My order was to go, but from what I could see, it seemed like a well kept, clean place.

    (3)
  • Matt R.

Great bagels. Fast service. Friendly local folks. Fresh vegetables and real bacon on our "Brunch Bagels" and had vegetarian options too. Lots of bagels with seeds and whole grains also. Lots of seating and a drive thru.

    (5)
  • Megan F.

Really excellent bagels and coffee. I would recommend this for breakfast or a snack. They also had bagel sandwiches as well. They charge if you use a card, so cash is best. The lady who took our order was very nice, and they brought our food out to us. If your visiting in the area, swing in this place and grab a bagel!

    (4)
  • Alex M.

Had the brunch bagel here the other day...yum! Great spot for a well-priced breakfast. Drip coffee was also good. I also love the space (former bank?) with the high ceilings. Well done!

    (4)
  • Jeremy S.

Really great bagels and cream cheese. About 10 different sandwich options or create your own. Service was fast and friendly. Lots of room to spread out and relax for a nice breakfast or lunch. Get the jalapeño cheddar bagel. They also serve small nugget ice pellets from the soda fountain. So crunchy and perfect for cold drinks.

  • Dave L.

This is one of the best bagel places I have been to. The bagels were delicious and actually taste like the flavor they are supposed to (might sound silly but all too many times this has not been the case at other places) and there's so many to choose from. The cream cheeses are excellent and there's a good variety of flavors as well. I really liked the add ons for the bagels such as sprouts, tomatoes, etc. I would highly recommend giving this place a try, we went twice while on vacation here which we rarely do so I think that says something about our level of satisfaction with these bagels!

    (5)
  • Erin H.

I love this place. The breakfast bagels are my favorite and they have quite a variety of bagels to choose from. Their coffee is also good, which is a huge bonus. One of my favorite places for breakfast or lunch in Seaside.

Great food! A variety of sandwiches and bagels. Choose anything on the menu and you will leave satisfied. Delicious!

This is our second morning in Seaside and we were really looking forward to our breakfast at Bagels by the Sea after our morning beach walk. First, I must say our family of four enjoyed our bagel sandwiches. They were quite expensive as the other reviewers indicate but that's expected on vacation. What I am most disappointed with is the attitude and service we received from the young lady (Lainey I believe) taking our order. I don't care if I'm spending $.05 or over $20 for breakfast like I did this morning, my expectation is that my experience is pleasant and enjoyable. We did not receive a "good morning", or "welcome" or a smile. I asked a question about the sandwich and I was immediate told, "what it says" as she pointed to the menu. She was obviously irritated and even more irritated when My wife asked to change her order. They changed the order but she attempted to make my wife feel badly for wanting to make the change and did it begrudgingly. That is not how you treat customers. Period.

    (1)
  • Kathy S.

I am surprised by the number of high reviews. The bagels are NOT that great. I would put them just a step above grocery store bagels. I am pretty fussy about my bagels. I cannot recommend you try these bagels.

    (3)
  • Jo W.

Perhaps the most overpriced ripoff tourist trap in Seaside. . . and that is saying something. The bagels are OK, but where they really excel is at is in completely fleecing an innocent consumer. The phrase "Seriously overpriced" does not show quite enough appreciation for what they do. I was prepared to suck it up for an overpriced bagel sandwich, but then I innocently asked for water. What happened next was my bill almost doubled. Doubled you say? Surely that cannot be - as you simply ordered a glass of water! Alas. It is true what I say. You see, they charge $3.75 for a regular old bottle of water that you can get for a few cents across the street. Righteously agape, I signaled that he had mistaken me for a chump, for I was perfectly fine drinking regular old tap water. He gave me a 2oz mouthwash Dixie cup. So I have given them a star rating commensurate with the size of their Dixie cup.

Ohhhh, the Eggle Bagle on Asiago is a heart attack in paper. So much goodness it will make your heart explode. I adore Bagels By the Sea. It was nice to see that the quality of their food is as good as ever. Good coffee too. For breakfast or lunch, if you like a really good bagel sandwich, this is your joint. It's got a drive through too!

    (5)
  • Jason R.

I walked here and got a breakfast bagel and a drip coffee on Saturday. It was absolutely delicious. I brought my wife back on Sunday before traveling back home and the food and staff were equally as good as the day before. I would recommend to everyone.

  • Rose N.

Good service. Great bagels. Had a garlic bagel with cream cheese. My sister has one of the breakfast sandwiches. They make Expresso Coffee, it is alright. I like how they have a drive thru, we most likely will be back.

  • Chrisi B.

Bagels by the Sea is the one place we visited on girls beach weekend where everyone raved about their meal, got exactly what they wanted and finished every bite. Sandwiches came with thick sliced meat and/or ample veggies. There was likewise no skimping on the cream cheese, which had a lot of flavor choices. Pimento was a favorite. High marks for the garlic herb as well. Affordable, great service and a large parking lot to boot. Limited hours are the only drawback (open 7 days but only til 3pm) as we would have come back for dinner!

    (5)
  • Jomarie N.

Great selection of bagels and they are all loaded with flavor! Flavored cream cheese and veggies to add on! My only complaint is that they charge for coffee refills but with all the people lounging around using their wifi I guess they have to.

Lived in Seaside for 7 years, moved away 4 years ago, and am still craving their bacon/cheeze bagel. Not understanding the folks who are blasting them for their costs: they must have known before the placed their orders what the cost would be, and since these folks make their bagels at this site, I find it difficult to find fault with their prices. Hard to find a good bagel on the Oregon Coast.....this is the Best, and I continue my efforts to get an outlet in the Central Coast area.......

    (5)
  • Ms M.

Wow, can't say much more. Excellent bagels, both the savory and the sweet to meet the diverse needs of my family. Great staff also. The strudel bagel was to die for and I am very picky about my bagels...

    (5)
  • Erica W.

Talk about rude! I was standing in line to order with two small children trying to figure out what to get everyone when finally after 5 min of waiting an older blond women walked up and pointed to the woman behind me who had just walked in apparently they knew each other and put in her order then walked away! Wow nice first impression. She also brought each person there food at completely different times! Wow definitely won't be returning

  • Jessica K.

The bagel wrapped hot dog is the best. I would eat it for every meal. Also, the eggle, on an asiago bagel, that's my jam.

    (5)
  • Hannah J.

The bagels here were good and they served us right before they were going to close. I did ask for no mayo on both the bagels I ordered but they must have forgot and put it anyway.

  • Denise S.

My husband & I ate here for the 1st time 7/2/13 @ 2 pm and we will never be back! $20.95 for 2 bagel sandwiches 1 sm & 1 med drink. Did not come with any sides like chips. They were extra like the drink refills. The big sign outside said soup & bagel sandwiches and when I asked what kind of soup they had the lady answered, "Oh, we don't have any soup today. Sorry." I stopped to express how displeased we were with the high prices and drink refill policy to the young assistant manager and his only response to me was, "That's my boss for you." Wow' really? He never did anything to demonstrate that he wanted to please the customer. Tack terrible customer service onto this review! Save your time and money and go eat someplace else that offers value & satisfaction.

You have to try the New Yorker! It's so good! I love this place! The decor is very cute and seaside coming :) The service is very good and the guy Jacob that helped/ served us was very polite and informative. I got the Bagel Brunch which was perfect and delicious and my mom got the New Yorker. The New Yorker was by far my favorite and flavored perfectly. The pricing was about $6-9 for a bagel sandwich and it's well worth it. This has easily become my new favorite bagel spot in Seaside!

  • james c.

This is ok for what it wants to be: a place for bagels, coffee, etc in the morning with sandwiches later in the day. It has a following. If you are in often enough you recognize people. The bagels are about halfway what I understand a real bagel prepared in a New York deli might be and what passes for a bagel most places around Oregon. I mostly just have coffee and it is better than most local coffee but not the best. Coffee prices seem fair. Other prices seem a little high but they don't break the bank. Service is ok. It is in the old First National bank (First Interstate, Wells Fargo) branch building. That brings back memories.

    (3)
  • Kasey S.

I honestly don't think this place is a tourist trap. The prices are reasonable and the food is decent. The decor leaves something to be desired but it's convenient and close to the beach. I had a TON of bagels from here over a weekend I spent in Seaside. For breakfast the Eggel Bagel is fantastic. With egg and bacon on a bagel you can't go wrong. All the other bagels were standard - my favorite being the parmesan bagel with the sun dried tomato spread.

  • Jennyfer B.

My favorite is the blueberry bagel! Yummy and they are not skimpy with their cream cheese!! So yummy!! Plenty of comfortable seating and free Wi-Fii.

OK so we were tourists but we are bagel connoisseurs as well (Montreal style being our favorite). After roaming/camping the OR coast and now dirty as hell we stumbled across this place. We were starving and in need of coffee and carbs stat. I can't tell you how pleased we were to see a local bagel establishment instead of a chain when we wandered aimlessly into Seaside, OR that early morning. The ordering process went smoothly. They got everything right, were reasonably speedy and the order was delivered with a smile. All good. The bagels were prepared nicely in little baskets smeared lovingly with perfectly portioned fresh cream cheese. I would call them a step up from typical American bagels in quality. The coffee drinks were just as ordered and of fine quality as well. The building is spacious yet cozy. It was relaxing to sit at the window seat to nosh our bagels. All in all a great experience.

I absolutely love this place!! i always order the brunch bagel (has cream cheese, avacado and bacon on it) and a slice of their homeade pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. OMG amazing . One downfall is the funny smell when you first walk in

  • Julie H.

This place is awesome. It has character, is HUGE, has trivia questions of the day for which you can earn $$ for answering correctly, and their coffee is yummy. And of course, their bagels are great too. Factor in the newspapers, books and magazines strewn about the couches and coffee tables and Bagels by the Sea earns a solid 5 from this Yelper!

  • TooMuch A.

Great food anytime of the day! Ooh and the service Rocked too!

  • Tina B.

Good bagels! But they are very slow I had to wait 10 minutes each time I went to get food. I went their twice. They burnt my everything bagel which is upsetting the garlic adn everything tasted bitter. The cream cheese was quite expensive. But overall it was good. I would come back in the future

When one of the reasons you look forward to vacation every year is to visit a bagel place... you know it's pretty good. Eggle bagels are one of the best egg sandwhiches I've ever had with a generous egg and a very tasty asiago bagel. Occassional impatient service does occur, but when your bagels are this good, I guess you can risk it. Garden spot is another favorite. You expect tourist towns to rely on location for business not quality. This place is a definite exception. Don't miss it if you want good bagels.

Went here with some friends last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. We almost drove right by it, as it looks like a bank, but caught a glimpse of the sign and pulled in. They have done an impressive job turning the inside of the place into a comfy, cosy place with good ambiance. There are a bunch of tables, but also some some super awesome wingback chairs... definitely a place I would go to use their wifi and hang out for awhile if I lived there. That being said, they have a decent selection of bagels and bagel sandwiches, and some delish smoothies. Though they claim to have "salads"... don't go there looking for them... they mean small containers of pasta or potato salad. Being gluten-free, I got a really good pear peach smoothie and some potato salad... which I normally dislike, but was actually pretty damn good. My friends both got bagel sandwiches and enjoyed them immensely. Service was quick and friendly as well.. overall a pretty fabulous place! Will definitely return when I am back in town!

Let's start by saying the service was pretty poor the last time we were there but it has been better in the past. Considering they have free wifi, good coffee and decent bagels it's not so bad. I will be back. I just hope the people working there can stay off the phone and give better service.

I went on a recommendation of a friend. I pleasantly surprised by the variety of bagels offered (throw bacon on anything and I'll be yours for life), but the choice of sandwiches and beverages was above par for a bagel shop. I tend to judge bagel shops by their onion bagel, and theirs was amazing - they even had the lite garlic herb cream cheese I get at my local bagel shop. The space the place occupied was huge (an old converted bank). We had two bagels to eat in before we headed back to Seattle. I also ordered half a dozen to go. When the member of staff brought over our order, I let her know that we hadn't received the half dozen, she brought them back over to me. Unfortunately, when we got to the car and I transferred the bagels into a freezer bag, I discovered that the member of staff had only given me five bagels (not sure why).

My wife had talked about coming here to eat because she loves the bagels and I have to admit they are very good. I would say though that while the prices aren't outrageous they are a little higher then expected. I opted for the BLT-A and while it tasted fine it was rather small. It seemed like the scrimped on both lettuce and bacon. I also ordered some homemade sweet tea which they raved about but honestly McDonald's serves just as good of sweet tea and for half the price. The Large I got was equal to a slightly smaller then medium at McDonald's. Anyway the bagel was fresh and the service was fine. The wait was a little longer then I would expect since there was only one order ahead of me but that's fine I had other things to do. I appreciate the parking and the free WiFi though. Its nice to see that in Seaside as there aren't enough places around that offer that. The seating is nice enough and the atmosphere is warm surprisingly for a converted bank. The men's bathroom is a little weird and cold. I usually don't write about bathrooms but the placement of the urinal with a direct view of the crack of the stall is a little weird as well as their soap dispenser which is a converted ketchup container you would find in any greasy burger joint. I can only assume that they don't much bother with how their customers hygiene ends up. I would probably come here to try some more of their bagels but honestly at the price I just don't get it. I can only assume the price is reflective of the rest of the town that seems to inflate prices because it considers itself a tourist hot spot.

It's a tourist trap, but it could be worse. They converted this old bank in to a restaurant. It has more charm than you'd expect. They have a bunch of thick chairs and couches in addition to normal tables and booths. I got a BLT & A(vocado) bagel sandwich on a bacon bagel, apple juice, and a toffee cookie. My sister got a club on some kind of parmesan bagel. The BLT was definitely the better of the two. The bacon was ample and crispy. They didn't skimp on the avocado either. My brother-in-law said they put too much meat on the club. It was about 6" tall. Cookie was... meh. They also have free parking near the main street... which is hard to find on a holiday weekend.

The service and atmosphere isn't anything special but I wasn't expecting much. Just toast my bagel and spread cream cheese on it... kind of hard to mess that up. The pepperjack bagel is tasty, along with the cheddar bacon bagel. Tourist trap or not, I'll be back.

  • KJ Y.

Definitely a tourist trap, we were in town with friends who ate there the day before and tried to warn us not to go, but at the prospect of a bagel with lox, I was so excited, however I can honestly say it was by far the worst service I think I have ever had at a restaurant and a let down, the server at the counter was not only rude, she messed up our order and when we pointed out the order was not right, proceeded to raise her voice and say we were wrong and to deal with it. We ordered bagels, not toasted for the kids and not only were they toasted, they were burnt and the rest of the order was totally messed up. Apparently they do not want families as they were extremely rude and unaccommodating. I am usually not critical of restaurants and servers, but not only would I never go back to this overpriced underwhelming place, because it left us with such a bad taste, literally, but we might not ever go back to Seaside! What a terrible representation for an otherwise tourist friendly town.

Good bagels! But they are very slow I had to wait 10 minutes each time I went to get food. I went their twice. They burnt my everything bagel which is upsetting the garlic adn everything tasted bitter. The cream cheese was quite expensive. But overall it was good. I would come back in the future

Period.

I am surprised by the number of high reviews. The bagels are NOT that great. I would put them just a step above grocery store bagels. I am pretty fussy about my bagels. I cannot recommend you try these bagels.

Great selection of bagels and they are all loaded with flavor! Flavored cream cheese and veggies to add on! My only complaint is that they charge for coffee refills but with all the people lounging around using their wifi I guess they have to.

Lived in Seaside for 7 years, moved away 4 years ago, and am still craving their bacon/cheeze bagel. Not understanding the folks who are blasting them for their costs: they must have known before the placed their orders what the cost would be, and since these folks make their bagels at this site, I find it difficult to find fault with their prices. Hard to find a good bagel on the Oregon Coast.....this is the Best, and I continue my efforts to get an outlet in the Central Coast area.......

Wow, can't say much more. Excellent bagels, both the savory and the sweet to meet the diverse needs of my family. Great staff also. The strudel bagel was to die for and I am very picky about my bagels...

Good selection of bagels and spreads however I thought they put too much cream cheese on their bagels. Taste was ok, staff was friendly and quick. Coffee was good. Overall, good option if you want a quick breakfast.

Wow, fast service and great food, despite the masses needing to feast after Hood to Coast. We came here after putting our names on countless waiting lists around town. We got right in here and loved it. Thanks!

I love this place. I make a point to stop here every time I go to Seaside. You have to try the Good Morning Santa Fe breakfast sandwich.

Pretzel bagels. That is all. (They also have other awesome offerings in the form of bagel and bagel sandwiches, but I pledge my allegiance to the all-mighty pretzel)

Very serviceable breakfast. I didn't want to barf, so avoided the pig restaurant everyone else was going to. If you are in seaside and want some reasonable coffee and tasty bagels, go here! it's quiet, and fresh. Very welcomed in Seaside.

Love the diversity in the bagels and the sandwiches. I loved loved loved the food. I will definitely return. I really appreciated that there were locals there. And the servers knew their names and their regular orders.

Great bagels and bagel sandwiches, everything is a bit over priced, the coffee is not good, lots of parking and seating.

Had the bbq beef on a pepperjack bagel and it was delicious. I'd consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to bbq (meaning that I order it every chance I get) and this was surprisingly one of the best I've ever had. Bravo Bagels by the Sea.

Had a very bad experience there today. The people who work there are mean ! And they burned the bagel !
