Do not ever compare WildPineapple to Hawaiian Time around me. Not even close! WildPineapple's food is actually prepared daily by someone who is from the islands. The lunch plates are simple amd delicious! I've been coming since Cliff opened several years ago. He also does catering which is seriously the best pricing around and guaranteed you will not run out of food! The mac salad is like no other. He prepares the meat on site. Give it a try!

Always good, no matter what you have. Go early rather than later, hours are limited and they run out of food. Most orders come with rice, but you can ask for Brown rice. Check out their menu on line, different things are available on different days. Let's hear it for small businesses!!! Making a difference and serving the public!

Holy tri-tip, that was tender. Wild Pineapple, you have some fantastic food. Please come to Portland and climb the ranks of the food trucks! I would love to have mac instead of slaw also... but it was still really good. Salemites, get up and go to Wild Pineapple. The food totally kicks ass.

Stopped here on our way to Oregon Country Fair. Service was great. Very friendly and quick. The pork was tender and delicious, but might be a little too salty for some. The chicken was also great (less salty). Definitely recommend using the different sauces. We were informed by a local that they often sell out of things.

Not often that I delve this low on the rating scale, but just not satisfied with the food on both trips. The first time, just for a quick synopsis, I had a Big Island combo plate. I admit that this panda loved the large portion size, but got greeted with some dried teri chicken and smoky pulled pork that needed more salt. The mac salad was merely OK. I thought I had written a review of this on Yelp, but I guess I was wrong. Despite this, I wanted to give them another shot. __________________ I stopped by around 10:30 a.m. on a Friday. The sign at the front of the hut said "OPEN," but the actual neon "OPEN" sign was not on. Weird, but I walked up anyway. The window was open, so that must mean they're open, right? Not exactly. They were still technically a half hour away from really opening. Um, so why was the front sign flipped to "OPEN" again? I had my heart set on the poke bowl, which is really cubes of raw fish (usually ahi tuna nowadays) with sesame oil, onions, etc. I loved that they have a brown rice option. And to the owner's credit, he kindly took my order when I mentioned I didn't have the time to wait around another 30 minutes. Pandas are busy, too! Taste-wise, the poke was OK. The tuna color was not a fresh, sexy glossy magenta, but more a dreary dark or dull reddish tone. Adding tobiko to the poke added a crunchy dimension. The brown rice could have been better. Too dry, likely not enough water to begin with. More toothy and bite-y than a dang pissed off shark. Admittedly, brown rice will have those qualities, but I could easily make a better batch at home. Finally, not a fan of the $8 price tag. The menu said it was $6.50. Does this mean I'm paying an extra $1.50 for brown rice? Or is this an outdated menu? Either way, a kiddie-sized portion of average (at best) poke and rice with that price -- can you say irked panda? After two trips, the quality I've received just doesn't justify the price tag. Over-the-top service is great, but you also gotta back it up with quality product.

I have had the privilege of working down the alley, and now street from this wonderful Hawaiian place since they opened. Cliff does an awesome job with food no matter what day I am here. I however am partial to Thursday and Friday as you can't get a much better deal than the plate lunches they offer. Also upon Cliff's suggestion a few weeks back I recently tried the Krab Salad they offer, and it is wonderful. If you haven't tried this place yet swing by between 11am and 2pm. If your after a special like the Krab Salad or the Ribs Chuck mentioned be sure to get there early they sell out fast. Thank you Cliff for bringing wonderful, fast food to Salem.

I'd been meaning to stop by here for platelunch, and was finally in the right place at the right time (Thursday right at noon). Boy, I'm glad I was. I sprang for the Big Island, because I had skipped breakfast and was famished. The pulled pork was tender and juicy, the chicken had a beautiful teriyaki glaze, the rice was that nice sticky-but-not-glued-together consistency, and the mac salad was some of the best I've had. Yeah, its $10, but even with my big appetite, I had to put half in the fridge. Nice to have a good Hawaiian place in Salem. FYI, its in one of those coffee shacks but they do have a picnic table and a few parking spots for your dining pleasure.

Thursdays and Friday's are a must for visiting this place. They offer authentic Hawaiian plate lunches that are amazing! The portions are generous and the flavor is to die for. I would recommend anyone who is from the island to give it a try as well as all of you who have never even been to the island. You don't have to be an islander to enjoy their food, guaranteed. One thing to keep in mind is that they only serve Hawaiian plates on Thursday's and Friday's. They serve handmade sandwiches the rest of the week, which are also good but not as amazing as their Hawaiian plates. I have tried Hawaiian food at many other establishments and none of them compare to The Wildpineapple Grill and Coffee. Hawaiian Times in Salem for example is not even close to authentic and their flavor is more of a one in comparison to Wildpineapple's five star food!

OMG this place is ONO!!!!! Cliff is da best!!! It was hard for me to find delcious eateries moving from San Francisco to Corvallis to Salem. Their Poke bowl is to die for and I can not believe I was able to find someone that sells this delicious treat. I would highly recommend the Kalua pork as well. It was tender and tasty. Even without the sauce it was moist and delicious. Go on thursday and friday it is so good you will not regret it!!!

In town visiting a Marine brother and decided to make use of his bike and get some lunch and found this hidden pineapple. The food goes fast from what i have read, but from my experience that means everything is good food! I arrived right before 1 and everything did go fast and all that was left was meatballs over rice. Has he called it, it's like chili Verdi. It was so much more than that, it was flavorful chicken meatballs mixed with corn potatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, onions, and a few other things over a bed of rice. It was something else, it was a home cooked meal that tasted amazing! This place is worth a stop, I will come back before 11 next time..

There are daily specials! I went on a Tuesday and ordered the Verde Chicken. You get your choice for white or brown rice. That goes on the bottom, and then on top were these delicious chicken meatballs, sauce, and zucchini~ It was delish!!!

What a cool little place in Salem! It's set up like a coffee shack, where you drive up and place your order. I had chicken with brown rice. It was super tasty and I love that it's a local place.
