This was our first B&B experience and we were thrilled at how well Hopewell turned out. When we arrived, we were greeted by Mike and Penny (the owners) and their dog Buddy. They made us feel right at home upon our arrival, bringing us wine and snacks to enjoy right away on the porch. They chatted with us on the porch as we enjoyed the wine and snacks and showed us their 4 cows afterwards. We booked both cottages and both were extremely clean and had all the amenities you need. There's a refrigerator, DVD player, cable tv, silverware, all the toiletries you'll need. The next morning, they brought us breakfast in our room, which included the best french toast with fresh berries and whip cream, ham, OJ, and coffee. It was absolutely delicious. They didn't rush us to check out and let us stay as late as we wanted. We'll definitely come back here again the next time we visit the area and would recommend to everyone!!!

Willabys Catering & Event Design

Reviews:
Willabys and the owner, Jean, are as good as it gets. They catered our wedding in July 2012 and everything was spot on, spectacular. From the beginning, Jean understood our goals for full service catering and found a great selection of foods that met our budget. She really wanted our business, which made everything much easier. Our tasting was a wonderful experience and the food was simply delightful. Her staff was great at accommodating a few requests for special menus (vegetarian and a gluten free) and used all locally sourced, fresh, organic ingredients. Jean attended our rehearsal and took great care of us, walking everyone through the steps and explaining each part like a seasoned professional. The wedding went off like a dream and everything was as good as promised. Her staff is nice, efficient and very easy going. If we have another event in her area, we will absolutely cater through Willabys again. This is the kind of business that makes you feel good about the money you've spent.
Yay for Jean and Shannin of Willaby's Catering! They were absolutely incredible and an integral part of our wedding day! At our venue, we had the option of 4 caterers. We interviewed all of them and were absolutely blown away by Willaby's. I really loved that as part of their service they offer "day-of-coordination." Which saved me from having to find someone else to be sure our day ran smoothly and help cue us down the aisle. There are a lot of details and changes when it comes to weddings and Jean and Shannin helped us figure out some of those little details and were amazing each time I emailed them with ANOTHER minor change. Each time that we went to Salem and sat down with Jean to go over things I walked out of there feeling so much better about the little details. We had Jean come to Grand Hotel in Salem to do our rehearsal. She was great with everyone and we were able to get through the rehearsal quickly with everyone feeling comfortable about what they were supposed to do. On the day of, Shannin was incredible. She was present but not too in your face. She would just kindly come up and remind me that such and such was happening in 10 minutes and then would come grab me when it was time. She was friendly and super personable. The servers were so wonderful, very friendly and one of them just gave me the nicest compliments on my wedding and the guests that were there. Also, my guests have RAVED about the food. We had some appetizers (pear and brie crostini), the gorgonzola chicken, fall veggie pasta. We had some people cancel last minute and I was worried we were going to have extra food. Nope, it was so good, our guests kept going back for more. Willaby's was essential in my big day and mad props and a HUGE thank you to Jean and Shannin for being so awesome.
Willaby's played a huge role in the smashing success for our wedding ceremony at Youngberg Hill Winery. Willaby's was the caterer recommended by Youngberg. We got married Sept 20, 2013. Jean, from Willaby's, coordinated all the vendors the day of the wedding. The weather transitioned from summer to winter that day. Jean talked me through the options and recognized our priorities then made exactly the right decisions for us. We had a burst of rain an hour before the wedding. The chairs were moved under the tent and wiped dry. Rain stopped a few minutes before the wedding started. Because we had a strong preference to have the ceremony outside on the patio, Jean shuffled the guests outside. The guests stood. We exchanged vows. Everyone went back under the tent. It was perfect execution. And of course, the food was wonderful. Thank you Jean!!

Too bad I rarely go to Salem Center mall but when I do I will be going here from now on. The ladies working were pleasant and helped me quickly.

The girls here are good at coffee, but great at personality! there's no one else whom id rather get coffee from. Every caffeinated experience has been worm and welcoming... no, HOT and welcoming...
The coffee conundrum.....Dun Dun Dun!!!!! Bad Girl's Coffee......Salem Oregon ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Lets get this out of the way first. Mostly because I just fell in love with two girls at the same time. The employees are Drop Dead Gorgeous. I mean that ladies. Thank you for wonderful service. I am in town on pleasure and business from California, Orange County. Coffee is fantastic. The adorable girl who rang me up has got her vernacular down with how to ring you up fast make you feel welcome and has a delightful smile. It was the perfect combo. I manage restaurants in SoCal and am very happy to see this place and be in it drinking the Snickers coffee. I will drink anything that's not Starbucks. It tastes like burnt ass. This coffee is delicious. Anyone that truly enjoys real coffee would love this place. I'll be back. Love you girls. Haha. COME HERE FOR COFFEE!!!!
Love this place they make great sandwiches to and don't get me started with the biscuit and gravy this is a most have if you work by them.

This place is great! Now its not the Ritz Carlton but the service and down home cooking make it a go to spot for breakfast. No matter how swamped they are you always recieve great service and the food comea just the way you like it. The homemade corned beef hash....oh my!
What a fantastic find. Definitely worth a stop in for a delicious and inexpensive breakfast to Josie's. Fantastic waitstaff who are attentive and warm, exactly what you want in a breakfast diner. You won't be disappointed.
I came in to dine alone today. The server'Melissa' was friendly and inviting. My breakfast 'HOBO OMELETTE' was fantastic. I had planned to take a picture but I ate it all up. The owner was at the grill and had the kitchen under control. I can not believe I worked in Keizer for 10 months and did not know about JOSEYS. I can't wait to bring my husband for the biscuits and gravy! The location and parking alone is a draw for sure. So take the bus and stop off at 9,19 or walk, run drive or bike on down. You will find a delightful meal and fast kind service at a good price. Thank you Yelp for having this place on your list! Fauna from Dayton

Little Cannoli Bakery

189 Liberty St NE,Ste 102
Salem, 97301
Reviews:
My mom and decided to put our diets on hold and have cannoli's for lunch. We found street parking right off of Liberty Street and found the sign for the bakery which is in the Reed Opera House Underground. We took the stairs down and walked around peering into a variety of shops until we found it (right across a tattoo shop). It felt like Disneyland when you cross from one "land" to another. We stepped out of Downtown Salem into Little Italy. Romantically lit with terra cotta mosaic round bistro tables, it was a peaceful break from the outside world. This was my first time having a cannoli and boy was it GOOOOOOOOOOD. Now I understand why people have a dreamy look on their face when they say cannoli! It was very crunchy sweet on the outside with perfectly textured ricotta filling inside and dipped in pistachio on both ends. The combination was incredible. I forced myself to not buy another one since my mom was already talking about how many calories it contained and how much exercise had to be done to work it off. I'm pretty sure they are calorie free.
This bakery is located in the basement of the Reed Opera House. We happened upon this little shop of goodies by look on yelp for a tea house and this place came up. He only has two teas, so not a tea house but very yummy baked goodies. Go find this place and eat dessert!
Everything in the store looked perfectly crafted. We didn't try the cannoli as we were getting something to go and cannoli are better eaten fresh. The very friendly owner offered us a DIY kit to make later but we were more than satisfied with the marionberry napoleon and eclair we eventually selected. We also took a bag of chocolate dipped macaroons to go. Look forward to stopping here again next time we are in Salem.

Love this place, need more spots like this in salem
This place really has great service and excellent coffee. I highly recommend it!
We were very impressed with this cafe. On the way to the Wednesday market, we were offered a generous hamburger sample, and decided to grab lunch here. The cafe is larger than we expected, cozy and cool. There are tables as well as couches, bar seats, a huge screen and a stage. The employees are very friendly. We received lunch in a very timely manner. The burger was tasty, with a grilled/charbroiled flavor. The fries are breaded... very unique. The free wifi works great. Can't wait to come back to relax and try their coffee!
