I usually give new restaurants a second chance if I've had a bad experience. Both my two visits to their new location were not good. Waited 30 minutes for a sandwich on my first visit. They got my fries wrong. OK. I 'll give them another chance, even though I felt their prices were too high for the portions offered. Went back a week later. This time when the waiter asked if I wanted a drink, I said no, just water with no ice. He said OK and went right to the water station and came back with a glass of ice water. My dinner entree, the pot roast was a platter of canned gravy with mostly potatoes and a few carrots and about two bites of some meat that wasn't what I would call pot roast. Spent most of the next morning in the toilet. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Or eat at any of their other locations.

I'll make this short and to the point.. Dirty Gross Slow service Violent stomach issues for our entire family after eating there. Unless you like terrible service with a old dirty decor and don't mind spending 3 days on the toilet AVOID THIS PLACE!!

We both had burgers and they were a little under seasoned. We added a little salt and they were good. The breaded french fries were really good. The waitress was great. And, the view was beautiful.

Waited for 1 hour before our food came. We weren't the only ones. They need a few more cooks in the kitchen! Wait staff was well staffed but we should have gotten drive thru. Food was great though!

Great views, great service, average burgers and fries. I don't particularly care for limp fries, but I know some people prefer them soft. My only suggestion would be to keep the caps on the checks' pens. It surprised me, falling out of the "check folder" and marking my shirt.

This is definitely a diner! Great grilled ham and cheese and the husband ordered a Philly steak melt. Yummy food, served quick with a smile. What else could a person want? If you are looking for something more upscale this is not your place...

I took my 2 year old here on a Saturday evening and was nervous about the experience, given previous reviews. However the concern was quickly squashed. We were seated within a minute entering and our water was brought and orders take within another 3 minutes. We waited no more than 15 minutes for our food. Although our food was very simple, the meal went off without a hitch and I had no complaints. The food tasted as I expected and I don't feel there is a need to penalize them for diner food when that is what they are going for. The food was not groundbreaking, but fine nonetheless. The mood was so fine that we topped it off with a few delicious shakes in celebration. Things got a little shaky at that time, as it took us almost as long to get 2 small shakes, as it did to get our meals. Additionally, they double charged me for the shakes, but worked diligently to fix it. I could tell they were busy and embarrassed by the gaffe and I was happy with the way they took care of it. Overall, it appears that they MAY be pulling themselves together a little better in the organization category. That being said, I watched the room during my meals. Numerous servers did a variety of things (bring drinks, take orders, bring food), that it was unclear if anyone was assigned to a certain section. This led to confusion on a lot of occasions and led to a lot of repeating questions to customers, which could get frustrating. I think that with an extra server and some organizing, they could make improvement. Basically, in closing, I suggest coming here if you are patient, not in a rush, and want to enjoy the amazing views. Just pretend it is the 50's and you will be best off.

I ordered a "Hamburger Steak" to go, this evening. I was very disappointed. Not only was my "Hamburger Sreak" the size of a small McDonalds patty, but it took 35 minutes to get it. $10.99 for that? Nice atmosphere - sits on the bank of the river, but disappointing food.

Have driven past this 50s diner more than 100 times this year and each time, we say..."gotta give that place a try!" Well, we finally decided tonight was the night to give this place a try. Did our "Yelp" homework and decided inspite of the few negative reviews, we'd go see for ourselves...besides, it was Friday evening and we were in the mood for a GOOD burger! From the start, it was a really GREAT experience! We were greeted at the door by 2 employees...one who picked up some menus and offered us our choice of booth or table by the window (overlooking the river). She took our drink orders as soon as we were settled at our table (we chose the "river" view) and had our drinks back to us in very few minutes...not long enough for me to think "now WHERE are those drinks?" As soon as the drinks were on the table, she offered to take our order and explained about the 3 different types of french fries...hubbie chose the lightly breaded, crunchier fries and I upgraded to onion rings. OH....the burgers...I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and he had the egg/bacon/cheeseburger....I know...heart attack on a plate but it's his favorite and that's all I have to say about that! The wait for our food was a reasonable wait...less than 10 minutes...maybe 5...we were talking and the company was great so I wasn't checking my watch so much. :) Burgers arrived and I gotta say, that mushroom swiss burger was juicy, tasty, full of tender mushrooms with just the right amount of cheese. The bun was fresh and soft and was the perfect ratio of bun to meat/fillings. The egg/bacon cheeseburger looked amazing! I've never tried one before but as my dad used to say, "How do you know you don't like it if you've never tried it?" So I bit into this burger with trepedation but a spirit of adventure (you can tell if this is "adventure" for me...I'm not much into adventures!) and discovered WHY my husband was so excited to order this burger. What a combination of flavors and textures! To quote him..."You like eggs? You like bacon? You like cheeseburgers? What's NOT to like about this burger?" I would order this on our next visit and would offer to share it with someone cuz it IS huge! The fries were terrific! The onion rings....not so much. The batch that arrived with my spectacular mushrrom swiss burger were either left in the fryer too long or were cooked twice...either way, they were very dark and burnt looking. Our servers, Christine and Stephanie, were right on it...saying they'd get a new order placed right away. Sure enough, out came the new batch of onion rings...ooooooohhhh did they look good! But that's about all that was good about them. The batter didn't stay on the onion ring, the onion wasn't even partially cooked and the batter...well, it tasted like it had some major chile action going on there. I didn't want to complain...AGAIN...but Stephanie came by and asked if the onion rings were better and my husband told her what we thought..."I'm so sorry about that!" was her response. She explained that they do add a chipotle chile sauce to the batter (maybe they should say that someplace on the menu?) and I laughed that I should have stuck with the fries! I didn't expect nor did I ask for any reduction in the price of our dinner...sometimes a person just doesn't like the way things are prepared and in my opinion, unless it's a $30 entree, you live and learn and ask more questions before ordering next time. But here's the kicker for us...we went up to pay our bill and Stephanie ran up to let the manager (?) know that we hadn't liked the onion rings and she was going to deduct my whole dinner from the ticket! Already a long story a bit shorter...we suggested they just deduct the cost of the onion rings from the ticket and we'd be happy campers. The manager (?) went back to tell the chef and he was making a new batch of onion rings for the 2 of them to try so they could determine if the batter was too hot for the average patron. Gotta hand it to Rock-N-Rogers...we couldn't have asked for better service or a better resolution to our onion ring episode. If you want a GREAT burger while listening to Elvis and other 50s/60s crooners...here's your place! They also serve breakfast...that's what we're trying on the next visit!

Gorgeous view! Wow. Some of the food was good too. Monster salads (really big). When I had visited Salem I came here three times (twice to go and once to dine in). I had their Roasted Chicken Salad and their Mandarin Salad. I loved the Chicken Salad and really didn't like the Mandrain Salad (too much blue cheese ... tasted stale). When I dined in, I had their burger. I hardly remember it. Meaning it was just a burger.

First the view is really nice. From there it goes downhill fast. Our table only had silverware for two but there was three in our party and at no time did anyone correct that. We ended up grabbing a set from another table after our food was delivered. Service was painfully slow and inaccurate. It took approx 10 mins to bring our beverages. My meal came with a cup of chili that had cheese and onions on it even though I specified no cheese and onions when asked. Our food came out and I had the pot roast with potatoes and carrots. It tasted ok but I had to pause when I noticed that mixed in with my potatoes was some French fries? after finishing our food we had to wait approx 20 minutes for the server to come back before we could ask for the check. I don't think we'll come back and I recommend others to pass on this place.

Over an hour wait for food on a Tuesday morning. Then the eggs were hard as a rock and had to be sent back. Won't go back. Ever.

Zero stars is my REAL rating! I feel for the waitstaff who were apologizing right and left for the horrible effort put across with the food. Milk shake was wonderful. Salad was sopping wet; a salad spinner or even a colander would have kept my table's dinner salads from looking like lettuce soup. The burgers were incinerated hockey pucks; when we weren't asked how we wanted them cooked, that should have been a clue. Fries were COLD. To top it off, it took 75 minutes for entrees to arrive. My cousin, who is a successful chef, complained to management who apologized and didn't charge us. We left after tipping our waitress. Restaurant needs to scrap it all and try something else. NO customers were happy.

I read other people's review and was surprised at all the comments for long waits and messed up orders. I have been here 3 times and wife and I love the views of river so the wait does not bother us. I mean the wait for food was maybe 20 minutes and dining room was half full, the menu is hugh and takes awhile to figure out what u want the first time. We had a women waitress who was very good and sat with us taking our order and talking. The second time ,we had a guy waiter and and the wait was longer to take our order..like 15 minutes but again we love the river so anyway I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with ham both visits and they are worth it to me.The fries have some seasoning on them and are pretty crunchy. The prices are reasonable and food is good. Third time I ordered to go on way home and it was quick in and out in 10 minutes at 11:30 am.

I thought the service was great, burgers were good but patties could use some omph/life (seasoning, handmade), and it could certainly use a decorating update. With a decent view over the river to keep your eyes off the decor I rate it at middle of the road as overall dining experience.

came here for the view...and the view was all we got. walked in on Sunday night, 6pm. not busy. 3 other tables? seated right away, river view. drink order? yes, diet cola and two waters. 5 minutes go by, nothing. 10 minutes, witness our drink person helping everyone else. 15 minutes, nothing. 20 minutes, nothing. are we invisible? 25 minutes, i'm staring him down. he awkwardly comes over and repeats our drink order. i ask, "are you our waiter?" he acts mad I questioned him, and he says Yes. him, "are you ready to order?" YES. my hubby orders an omelette. him, "um, we don't serve breakfast this late" number 1, why would they serve you a menu with breakfast on it, AND when they've always served breakfast all day (at the other locations). number 2, after 25 minutes, NO apology and attitude on top of it. male server, didn't get his name. we left..................never to come back. seriously, wtf??? no excuse to lose customers to slow/disinterested service. who runs this location??????

Great experience. Great service, the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Food was great and there was plenty of it. The view of the Willamette is great. The last time I was in this building I thought it was disgusting. Now it is remodeled and all cleaned up. For me a dirty bathroom in a restaurant is disgusting. This bathroom is very clean and new looking. I just really enjoyed myself and will be back often.
