Well, there's not a lot of southern fried chicken in Oregon. (Big surprise...) -- and so far, this is as close as I've come. In Texas -- where I lived until recently -- you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a fried chicken restaurant (and who wants that?, honestly?) -- but 2k miles away, I could use some crispy every now and then.... And KFC still insists that MSG is one of the 5 major food groups -- so they're out. But there are differences between southern Popeye's and NW Popeye's -- so be prepared. 1. there is no choice between sweet and unseetened tea -- where I come from, most of us are "unsweetened" gals.... Just the wedge of lemon, thanks. 2. there's no such thing as buying "all white" or "all dark" dinners. It's just an "assortment." And with the popularity of wings. All the wings are diverted to specialty boxes, leaving breast/thigh/leg boxes for general consumption. Texas Popeyes sell chickens with 6 or 8 wings each. It must be a genetic difference in the birds. 3. there are no little packets of Tabasco up here. Just generic "hot sauce." (!) 4. the "cream gravy" -- well -- let's just say it ain't the stuff my grandma made. 5. if you ask for honey to go on your chicken or biscuits -- they give you "honey blend" -- that's mostly corn syrup. If you can get past all that -- the chicken is close to the same. The crust is a little thicker and not so crispy -- but it's close. The cajun rice, and the red beans and rice are identical to southern restaurants -- which is good. (we suspect pre-packaged mixes) I will try mashed potatoes and corn-on-the-cob next.... Oh -- and the parking lot/drive thru are a bit of a tangle....

Worst experience ever at a fast food restaurant. I should have gotten a clue when it took almost 5 mins to even take my order in the drive thru. I get to the window and paid then waited again. When someone finally opened the window she asked for payment not realizing I was still waiting for food. They told me it was going to be awhile for the onion rings at this point and asked me to pull around to the front and they'd be right out. I pulled around to the front and parked and at this point it had already been about a 5-10 min wait. I waited and waited. No one came out. It had been 15 mins. So I walked in and one of the other girls working there recognized me from the drive thru and yelled hey your 10 pieces is in here. Then I heard a girl in back say ya I know I put her order up five mins ago and asked for someone to run it out. I asked if my food was still going to be hot since it had just been sitting there and no one responded. I was so flustered at this point I just grabbed it and left. Over 20 mins of waiting for a simple fast food order with the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced at a fast food place (that said I don't hold them to high standards because most are kids). When I got home to eat and I live fairly close to the place, the thing I had to wait for was cold as ice. Ridiculous!! I would never eat at this location if I were you. That is unless you enjoy being treated terribly

This was my second visit to this Resturant in a period of a year. It tastes like the oil has a rancid taste and it was the same during the first visit. The staff seemed out of sequence and not with it. The chicken pieces were not quality and small. Needless to say I dumped a unfinished meal and went elsewhere.

Horrible. We just went here to pick up dinner. We ordered at the drive thru, she repeated the order correctly and said it would be an additional few minutes for the onion rings. I didn't mind waiting because who wants gross old onion rings right? 21 minutes go by, the woman at the drive thru ended up giving our order to another car that was also waiting. It sat in their car for 6 minutes. By the time we got home, our food was luke warm, soggy, and disgusting. The onion rings that we waited for were a joke; 4 small pieces of soggy onions. The two 5 piece orders were supposed to be spicy; they were mild. The fries that came with one of them were equally soggy and cold. The only one that was remotely warm was the 3 piece with macaroni. We will NEVER come back. Ever. What a waste of $25 bucks. I wish we could get our money back.

Popeye's Chicken and Biscuits. The family likes their chicken, very much, preferring it to KFC. It is certainly a better value: today I purchased an 11-piece mixed chicken only for $13.99. The lady working the drive-through window, Monique, was fast and friendly. Good job, Popeye's, four stars.

Worst experiences ever were two at this crappy location. Will never go back. Slow and stupid service. Overpriced. Never an adult behind the counter. Hard to believe this dump is still open.

It's been more than two years since I last ate here and I can't believe that I ever liked it. I know that their chicken pieces are much smaller than KFC's, but what I got last night was ridiculous and unacceptable. I've never seen chicken so emaciated or pieces so unidentifiable. In my dark mix I received just three skinny legs and a whole bunch of what I think were thighs--but the bone structure oddly resembled the breast, minus the meat typical of a breast. I took a thigh and found that the ragged thing had two small bites of meat. The rest was bones and breading. How is this "restaurant" getting away with this? SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY I will be sending an angry email on this one. Will update if they reply.

I love Popeye's and have been to this one dozens of times. My major problem with this franchise is there employee's continuous failure to listen to the order and know there own menu options. I have usually walked in and ordered and realized when I returned to my vehicle that my 3pc meal is only a 2 piece. This time I wanted a 2 piece meal for my son and thought I would order a piece of chicken for myself. The clerk I had couldn't figure out how to sell me a single piece of chicken. She said they don't do that ? You are a chicken restaurant aren't you ? No longer worth the frustration. I will just grab food elsewhere.

Not my favorite location of the franchise. I got take out. I had asked for spicy, but that's not what I got. Family size portion of side dish was quite small. Getting in and out is a challenge as they share a parking lot with another fast food. Place wasn't as clean as it should have been.

Doesn't have the full menu and is in a gas station not that the gas station part is the problem it's that they don't have anything they ad on TV or other menu items. Still good food.

Popeyes makes really tasty chicken, even better than KFC in my opinion, and this one is no exception. The people there are always friendly.

My husband and I ate here this evening. The cashier was super friendly, the service was fast, and all of my food was hot. The mashed potatoes and gravy was awesome, probably some of the best I've ever had. I had their cheesecake for dessert as well. It was wonderful and very cold which is in my opinion the best way to serve cheesecake. My husband had the Zatarain's fried shrimp and fries. Had his french fries been hot, it would have been a perfect 5 stars but sadly they were cold. We'll be back soon and I hope its a perfect 5 star then!

I agree with others' views. This is my go-to place for guilty pleasure: fried chicken and sweet tea. I always get sick at KFC, not once here. And when it comes to fast food fried chicken, sadly that's about the best I can expect.

I cannot believe what a rip off this place is, when your at the counter you can see the chicken under the warming lights but when you order a meal to go they pull the chicken out of somewhere else and its about a third the size of the ones you can see and that you think you're getting. How is the legal, classic bait and switch.

Awesome food. I can easily say they are better than KFC and they are not a big container of oil and butter like you get from Churchs chicken. My issues for the low rating stems from the management. Everytime I have shown up it's been very disorganized. Manager having counsuling sessions during busy times, people screaming at each other about who finished what, etc. I will most likely come back because my brothers love it here -- but my advice is to check your bags if you are getting to go. My fault really, but I swear I saw the woman pouring a large container of mashed potatoes and place it behind my bag. Places the chicken and biscuits inside. Get home and there's no mashed potatoes. How does one overlook something like that?! In either case, if you haven't tried it, go for it. You won't be disappointed (if you eat there at least - lol)
