Came in here for their $1 short stacks and to support a good cause. The waitress was very nice and didn't seem miffed that all we were ordering was water and the short stacks. I have been here a few other times during other fundraisers and every time has been a good experience.

The cheeseburger was great, the fries were nicely spiced and good as well. I lived the mango lived tea it was the best! My waitress Melissa was probably the nicest in the entire restaurant she was super sweet! I would go back but I don't usually eat the type of foods on there menu so I don't know if I would but maybe if I'm looking for a desert and good service!

Very good food. Staff and manager very personable. Clean. Even as buddy add it was they worked together to get tables cleared and cleaned to accommodate the patrons

Service was great! Problem was the food. "Scrambled eggs" were the worst I've ever had. Runny and gross. Croissant desert thingy was essentially a burned waffle. We had to borrow ketchup from a neighbor rather than asked a third time for it. My wife didn't enjoy her omelet. Probably won't be back.

Upon arrival, I was immediately seated and served water as asked. After visiting the restroom, and noticing nothing out of the ordinary there, and coming back to my seat, I noticed the table had stains and the seats had residues on them. My waitress was quick. She offered as substitution from hashbrowns toast, red skin potatoes, making note probably wouldn't like those, tomatoes, broccoli followed by "or corn" in that order. My two options for eggs were pinpointed from the brochure as either runny or scrambled. Why would a server ask if I wanted hot sauce or ketchup with my order along if it would not be made clear to other servers? My plates were delivered with nothing unsual. Ooooh, the strawberries though were near freezing. I noticed this after they reached my teeth. You have to pay your waitress. Cash registers have been removed from the entrance.

Terrible service. Had to finally ask a waiter to help us, and we were placed at the table where the waiters and waitresses came out with the food. I order coffee and water, my wife ordered water. We both ordered from the menu nothing major. I asked that my eggs be folded like an omelette with avocado on top, my wife asked for a side of gravy. We were never given the waters or coffee until the waiter brought our food to us, 25 minutes later. The food: My hashbrown potatoes tasted burnt, dry, and cold. My wife's food was cold From where I was sitting I could see when the cooks put the plates onto the ready counter and ours plates were up there within 15 minutes after the waiter took our order. The business was not that busy. People were being seated in only half the restaurant and there were 4 waiters working. So that broke down to four tables per waiter. And two table breakers, they also helped with water or coffee, which I didn't have. From now on Elmer's will be destination for breakfast.

Not sure why some reviews are bad for this place. The eggs were perfectly cooked (I am really picky about my eggs being the right over easy consistency), & pancakes were definitely on point. BF loved them! I would gladly have breakfast for an early dinner anytime. Everything was freshly cooked also. :) I'll most likely be coming back soon!

    1. Food: delicious. I am on a diet and can't have a lot of things. I came here and was able to have a totally diet compliant meal and it was delicious. Also, they had chulala. I love chulala and restaurants usually don't have it. 2. price: firstly, I love Oregon. No sales tax makes everything so much cheaper. Also, switching to egg whites was only .50 more. AMAZING! When do you ever see that?!? 3. Service: one word- Charity. Our waitress was also the hostess. She was on top of it, worked hard and was super friendly the whole time! Thanks Charity!

Ate at this establishment yesterday, and as usual, the food and service were outstanding. Our party of four were very happy with the experience. We shall return!

I have been here only a handful of times, and EVERY time I experience the same three things: 1) it's busier than busy 2) good food 3) good service I've eaten different things each time I'm there, and have yet to be disappointed. Breakfast usually makes me sick, but I like IHOP. Today was the first time I haven't been completely impressed with my waitress; usually we get someone who is running around like crazy to make sure her patrons are completely satisfied. Today's wasn't noticeably attentive or inattentive. Usually anywhere from a 5-20 minute wait for seats on a Sunday, but that's because Sunday is quite obviously the best day to go out and have breakfast. Food, as always, is delicious and I leave feeling so full that I need a nap. :)

5 stars for our incredible server. We were traveling and stopped here to meet up with friends - at their suggestion. We were early - no problem, we were seated and never pressured or hurried along - even after our friends arrived and the food was ordered and served (and eaten!) It's the first time we had seen these friends in maybe 20+ years - so . . lots of catching up to do! The server could not have been more gracious. And . . .the manager was also wonderful - and we heard him complimenting a staff person about something. He is an encourager - and the it was evident by how pleasant all staff was! And . .we were very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was (and huge variety on the menu.) Our friend was surprised with her chicken salad - in that the chicken had been deep fried and then sliced. We would never hesitate to visit here again.

Reliably decent- reliably good service. There are a few healthy options here, but watch out!

Food was delicious and Marissa was an amazing waitress. Thank you for the awesome service, our stop at IHOP was the perfect way to start our day.

Although the food was okay, seating took way too long. They were also out of a lot of side dishes, drinks, and fruit. Waiters acted unperfessional. The restaurant was not full and only had a few customers in but service was terrible.

I took my family here to fill a craving for breakfast. I would say it's just ok, but maybe I'm spoiled by smaller hometown cafés. The food was definitely corporate. I felt rushed to get out too. So probably just a once in a while kind of thing for us.

My boyfriend and I recently stopped into IHOP for a breakfast date together. Although there was plenty of open seating, the hostess placed us directly next to a large group of other customers. I don't mind sitting by other customers when the place is busy, but there were multiple other seating options that would have made more sense. As much as I love hearing about the crazy events that took place for this group the night before-I would have preferred to eat my breakfast in peace. When my food arrived, I noticed that my hash browns were cold on the top and 100% burnt on the bottom. When my boyfriend complained about this, our waitress instantly came back with another side of hash browns which looked equally burnt and disgusting as the ones I already had. I told the staff I would rather have no hash browns and be given a discount off my bill due to the horrible food. The waitress agreed. I received my bill only to see that I was fully charged for everything. When I mentioned the issue, our waitress seemed irritated and bothered. She grabbed the bill and my debit card and loudly sighed as she turned her back to us. She came back and rudely handed me the bill. Although she did end up giving me the discount, the way she acted about the whole situation made the business look cheap and horrible. I will never eat here again.

Perfectly average IHOP. We go there every time we get their email offers. Always enjoy going to IHOP and see what's new in their "Featured" menu. In this occasion, we were able to try the Jelly Donut and the Banana Nut Crunch pancakes. Quite good! Service was a little slow. We got water (the only drink we ordered) after waiting for about 10 minutes. No one seemed specially friendly or cheerful, but they weren't rude either and got the job done. Like I said, perfectly average.

I'm going to be ridiculed for this, I know, but I have to be honest. Their steak that's smothered with grilled onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese is really good. I mean, I'm craving right now. I know it's a weird thing to get at IHOP, but it happened once and now I'm in love. Mmmmmm... I've also had their omelets and pancakes. Also good. Service s good too. Cheerful ladies doing their job and keeping my water glass full. Once again, though, it's on Lancaster and I avoid that godawful road like it's the plague. :(

First off, let me say that the staff are some of the most friendly people I have ever met. Now to the food. I have never had a problem with the food here. It always tastes good. Never a problem if I want to substitute anything. They are always on top of things even when busy. I would highly recomend the Steak Tips as well as those awesome Cinn-a-Stack pancakes.

Surprised to see a review about bad service here. We have been there at least 6 or 7 times for a quick breakfast and the service has always been above average. The food is exactly what you expect from IHOP and we have eaten at dozens of different locations while on the road, I honestly believe we have received the best service at this exact location,

International House of Poop. Slow and sloppy service. Food ain't good. Even Dennys is better. And that ain't sayin' much! Go to the Original Pancake House instead, out on Portland Rd...its worth the extra 10 minute drive down Lancaster. Like I said, the quality of food isn't the best. And inside, it feels like you're in some Charlie and The Chocolate Factory room -- all white and bright and WEIRD.

Someone call the service police right away, there is a suspect that is ready to be apprehended here. This IHOP is similar to all of franchised locations around the US, but with ridiculously terrible service. The food was great -- my hashbrowns were crispy as can be, my eggs were fluffy, my toast was buttered just right. The prices were a bit high for a diner in Oregon, but justifiable for the food one would be getting. Our waitress, while full of smiles, lacked the courtesy to ask us how everything was going let alone be attentive to our needs. Her manager who worked the front counter, was grumpy and was rushing us as we attempted to pay. I may dread eating there now and feel bad for the people who work there who have to deal with such poor attitudes in service.

Every time I have been in and the manager is there he stops and talks with me, and they are all so sweet to my little ones. It's nice to go somewhere and have them be nice to little kids, because we all know kiddos are kind of messy and many servers don't like having to serve kiddos. Granted I don't like my kiddos to make messes for other people, so I am pretty good at cleaning up after them, but still they are so sweet and good at making sure the kiddos are happy with their food, and I love seeing a manager who is so hands on. I've seen him start serving and get in there when things are busy, it's nice to see a manager help out his team, not just tell them what to do. I haven't made it in in a long time because life is busy, but honestly for me the manager makes this place... plus the chicken crepes, those are my fav. Hope the next time I make it in the same guy is running the place :)

I was a bit surprised by this one. I went here only because of a team event and they were able to accomodate us. My last couple of visits to an IHOP have been dismal to say the least. So I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was clean!! and not run down. The food was delcious and came very quickly. I also love the promotion of kids eating free after 4pm every day. A very nice touch. My only complaint is that we were a really big group and they only had one waitress to take our orders. There were multiple tickets and our kids were in different areas. So ordering took a long time. We had reservations ahead of time, so I think they could have staffed up a bit better for that. But that aside, the orders came super quick, that some were done eating before others had their orders taken. It was the best of a difficult situation, but I downgrade a star for that. There were two or three others bringing food in. Maybe one of them could have taken orders too?? Overall a good experience and tasty food. Like I said, other stores in the chain aren't too good anymore. If this one was close to home, I just might be a regular customer. The local operation could learn from this one. Enjoy what you have Salem!
