This place is in my hood, and I'm surprised more people don't come here. For the locals around here, it "Cheers". The morning staff rock and historically are considerably more service oriented than you'll find in the evenings, though in general everyone is friendly. The food is a good value. Drinks are served right. 12 popular beers on tap. The burgers rock and breakfast is great. Kids are allowed all day, which is nice for bringing the little ones in tow. There's the usual bar stuff here, two pool tables, jukebox and video poker. If you're in the area, give this place a try, it's worth a visit. Cindy is the best!

A friend of mine brought me here not long after moving to the area for lunch and just our luck it was Tuesday $2 Off all burgers on the menu.. I ordered the 1/2 lb bacon cheese and it was huge! And came with a side of fries all for less than $7!! It was one of the juiciest cheesiest bacony burgers I've had in recent memory. Bacon cheese burger w/ fries and a beer for less than $10!! I've been back at least 3 times always on Tuesday of course.. And the burgers were always good..most recently I had the peanut butter bacon cheese burger and let me just say...Is there anything that doesn't taste better with some peanut butter?? Try it!

Place has gone down hill, they use to have great burgers, I don't know if they changed owners or cooks, but this crap is straight nasty. My wife and I couldn't even eat it. How do you mess up a burger? Ask the cooks at this place if you want to know how. The cheese on the burger tasted like that single plastic wrapped stuff that you only see when you are a kid or a lazy cook and can't slice a good brand of cheese (like say Tillamook). Cheese taste overpowered the Burger. Fries tasted like they soaked them in grease after they cooked them, too. Hopefully the dogs can hold this trash down and I don't have to take them to the vet.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical as I waited outside for my friend but the window art boasted best burgers in PDX so of course I was intrigued. I had my mirror pond on tap and told the bartender I wanted an awesome cheese burger. The cheeseburger arrived and was much larger than I had expected. The burger was from ground beef not a patty and was pleasantly good. The bathrooms were clean, the taps were a plenty! Good experience and good food!

I eat here at least twice a week and I always have good customer service, the food is always fresh (salads are hit or miss), and its a nice place to go without really high expectations. Jason is a wonderful waiter, and so are the other two waitress's. Jason is some great eye candy though and its nice to see him work the room-

I love the bacon Bleu cheese burger, Reuben, fish and chips, and the $4.75 breakfast. Drinks are good and there's pool and a couple please video games for the kids to play.

The Daily Planet is a great neighborhood dive for a juicy burger and pile of fries. Expect lots of TVs and electronic lottery games playing in the background and not much of an atmopshere, but it's a low-key place to grab a big plate of comfort food.

I used to work accross the street from this place and they were killer back then. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger to go. The fries were good, not great but really good. The service over the phone and on site was good too. The burger tasted great, except that I ordered it extremely well done. What I got was a burger that tasted great for the first bite until I got to the raw meat throughout most of the burger. Sorry but seared on the edges and not just pink but EXTREMELY pink, does not well done make. Well done means it's cooked through with no pink. This is the second time I've wasted money on this. Does this mean I won't go back? No not at all, just means I'll never EVER order another burger. Pink meat makes me sick to my stomach. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a long time homey little bar. It's got that lived in feel not that sterile modern hipster thing. If yer a new ager, hippy, yuppy steer clear you will despise this place. If you like the homey feel with good food, and decent folk, than while I can't recommend the burger for obvious reasons it's still a good place to go.

Is it possible to rate a negative star? As in I would never recommend nor return to the business. It is one of the most dingiest holes in the grown with rude apathetic "service" I have been too. When you walk up to the bar regardless of who the bar tender is you won't get even acknowledged until their good and ready when even though there were less then a dozen people there. I am of color and gay. I did not feel safe there at all. The "server" never came to our table. But would check on other tables to see if we wanted to order anything more. Drinks were water and soda and the menu is far too over priced for the grease plate you get.

Local dive. Pretty good service, stiff drinks, and good food.

We've lived near this place for a few years but finally went to check it out. Husband got the Hawaiian burger, I got the quarter pounder (without mayo or "special sauce"). Fries looked and tasted fresh-cut, burgers were delicious, although we weren't asked how we wanted them cooked. Prices were reasonable, we were able to get a pair of burgers and four beers for about $25 (excluding tip). Ask how long the beer you want has been on tap, as the Mirror Pond tasted funky. Atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect for a neighborhood restaurant. This isn't a fancy place, it's a place you go to have a beer, a burger, and watch a game. We'll probably be back.

If you're unfortunate enough to be out past 205, you can at least get a stellar burger at Daily Planet! They're massive, greasy, beautiful things, and they don't want $12 like everyone else's fancy hamburger. Full bar, pool tables, and the colorful video-poker folk that wander in and out. Seriously, they're hamburgers are bad-ass.

The first time I went to this restaurant was about 15 years ago. When I was a child we lived very close and so we frequented this place. I moved to another state shortly after and then back to Oregon a couple of years ago. One day I drove by here and noticed that they no longer let children in because it had become a full bar. Then, more recently they painted a sign on their window welcoming children and I couldn't wait to take my family in and see what updates they had made. I remembered it being a warm environment with a fire in the middle. This time, there was just a bar and pool tables and a few chairs. Oh well, they still have great food, environment is obviously not ideal for children. They did seem to be understaffed and we had to ask for refills on our water and were never asked if we would like other refreshments. The other thing that bothered me was that we got charged extra for my daughters milk when it clearly said on the menu that it was included in the meal price. Again, not a big deal but that is something the waiter should have been aware of and could have easily been avoided. However, great breakfast and we would go back.
