Amazing view from the outside deck. Great place for Sunday brunch. Or a drink and just relaxing.
New little treasure for us to return to--the owners were friendly and helpful with our questions about floating homes. The gallery / cafe / bar is funky and sweet with great atmosphere that reminded me of well tended cafes in Newport. But let's get to the food: it's served on thick paper plates and prepared in a tidy kitchen that's visible from the a side dining area. My salad was just what I was hoping it would be--fresh and filled with tasty bits of craisins, cheese, and served with delicious, light herbal dressing. My husband's grilled cheese sandwich featured a lively blend of three cheeses, along with a creamy clam chowder topped generously with crispy bacon and served with Lay's vinegar chips. But the real draw here is the view, the owners, and the neighborhood vibe. As we sat on the channel facing deck, chatting with the owner and sipping our beer / wine, a neighbor pulled up to the dock in his kayak. He joined us on the deck and we visited for 20-30 minutes about his experiences in A floating home. When we left, the counter was full with people enjoying a late lunch or an early happy hour. I get the appeal--we will certainly be back.
What a gem! This is a place we will come often. Supporting local and by local I mean live in the area and they know the customers who come in. The omelette was great and atmosphere to match. Feeling pretty lucky to live just a short bike ride away!

Great deal for full bag of bread cookies and bagels. Just $8.88 for everything. And they take credit & debit cards along with cash. Everything I bought was still in date. Though a good portion of this will live in my freezer until I use it. But still even if I bought a loaf at the supermarket I'd still put half of it in the freezer before the expiration date. So it's all good!

This is a great, reasonably priced place to stay. The owners provide for every conceivable need (robes and slippers, fridge, humorous reading all provided in the room) and serve a wonderful breakfast alfresco. Three of us slept in their largest suite for $105, very comfortable and a terrific bargain. We will definitely stay there again if there is a sock summit 2010.

Everett Street Guesthouse

Love the Everett Street Guesthouse! I spent 3 nights here over last weekend and have been recommending to all my friends since I got home. It's great! Terry was very helpful and accommodating from the time I made the reservation til the time I checked out. The home is really beautiful and she is very welcoming. My room (Sophie's room) was huge - had a sitting area and tv, also a large closet. The house is very clean and had everything I could have possibly needed. It's also in a great location on a quiet street. The cottage was already booked when I made my reservation, but was empty when I checked out so I had a peek - and it is super cute! I never thought of myself as a "B&B person", but I certainly hope the Everett Street Guesthouse is available on my next trip to Portland, it's the first place I'll try! So glad the hotel I usually stay was full this time, so I found Terry and her awesome B&B!
The Everett Street Guesthouse is a perfect example of why we don't look for accommodations at luxury hotels. It's a beautiful home, tastefully decorated with unique artwork in one of the best neighborhoods in Portland. Fuel up on a delicious breakfast, then stroll a few short blocks to shopping and restaurants. Comfortable beds and plenty of fresh air ensure a restful sleep. If you're looking to truly experience Portland as a local, the Everett Street Guesthouse is a great place to start.
My husband and I love Portland! What a fun, funky, beautiful place. So, we went up for the fourth of July weekend since we live in San Francisco and you almost never see anything but fog on the 4th here. After some online research, I found the Everett Street Guesthouse and decided this was the place for us. It is a small B&B with two rooms in the house and a small studio cottage out back. Terry, the owner, was very helpful when making the arrangements and was very accomadating of my dietary restrictions. She was there to greet us when we arrived at the house and she gave us a tour of the property and introduced us to the lovely house cat Sophie. We stayed in the Wellfleet room which was spacious and had a comfortable bed and large closet to store all our junk. The bathroom, which we shared with one other person, was very nice and very clean. We peeked at the other bedroom before the guest arrived and it too, was very nice. The rooms aren't frilly but are decorated to be comfortable and relaxing. I would describe the house as comfy, spacious and inviting. The artwork throughout the house is eclectic, whimsical and ethnic in origin. It was fun to poke around and discover all the treasures that Terry has scattered throughout the public rooms. The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit salad, juice, coffee and tea and some other entree. One day it was homemade granola which was excellent and we have now made at home. Another day was a breakfast panini. Over all we were very happy with the breakfast. Like the rooms, it is good but not fancy. The one negative thing we experienced while in Portland was a blazing hot heat wave. It was 97 and 98 degrees on a couple of the days and while it was cool in the living room, the upstairs bedrooms did not cool off at night and so it was hard to sleep. Terry did have the AC on but because it was the first time she'd needed to run it this summer, she didn't know until the holiday weekend that the AC wasn't running properly. The neighborhood around the Everett Street Guesthouse is nice, with lots of older homes and is very close to 28th St with loads of good restaurants and a cheap second run movie theatre. My husband and I enjoyed several delicious meals at La Buca (Italian) and then popped around the corner to watch a movie for $3 each. Awesome! In summary, one feels more like a house guest than tourist at the Everett Street Guesthouse. We really enjoy Portland and we enjoyed our B&B as well. Will we return to the Everett Street Guesthouse? You bet! We would also recommend it to our family and friends. It is a lovely little gem in a lovely little city!

Just like the other LBB's. Clean place, and a very small n' focused menu. I always get the plain LBB burger -- yummy, as expected.

Love this place - I'm a sandwich lover and this is a great sandwich shop. Awesome that they use pearl bakery bread and wholesome meat cuts. Cool owners! Love the real Ham sandwich and the pork shoulder. Side note: vegetarian girlfriend wishes they had more veggie options for a cold sub, and maybe a Sriracha mayo!
