To the poor people who work in the area, I'm sorry. There really isn't much to eat on when you're stuck down here, which makes me eternally grateful for being downtown on the regular. But Teriyaki Express is kind of a silver lining if you're into bento, yakisoba, or noodle soups. For $5 I had a hot and spicy chicken soup over rice. It was hot in the temperature sense, not all that spicy, and had a really high chicken to rice ratio. Express is an understatement. You're seriously just sitting down after paying when your order is up. They know lots of the people that come in, either by name or by their order. That's pretty rad.

I love this teriyaki joint because it is very close to my work and I love teriyaki...one two punch! There is always plenty of food and it is very reasonably priced as well. Do you like Sriachi Sauce? Guess what, there is a bottle at every table. So if you want your quick teriyaki fix head over to Teriyaki Express and satisfy it.

Their Udon is off the charts. I like their other stuff as well, but the Udon is where it stands apart!

Yep, it's Teriyaki quickly. I have been eating here for years. Work is just around the corner and it is a nice walk. It is a nice mom and pop Teriyaki business in the strip mall in an area that is all business. The place is clean and nice. They have a large screen TV now days. Lots of seating inside and just a few outside. You walk to the back counter and order your food either for here or for to-go. Find yourself a place to sit and they will either call you are bring your food to you. They have a facebook page with all kinds of comments and photos. Whats on the menu? Well, how about some Teriyaki? You can have Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, seafood Teriyaki. How about a Teriyaki Rice bowl. No? How about Yakisoba. Or Udon? The food is tasty, good, and healthy. And fairly fast. You can be in and out just as fast as subway or a burger joint. And since its a nice healthy walk, healthy food suits me fine. The place is still run by Don B's "Smiley People."

I believe the kindest word that sums up my experience here is also strikingly present in the less than creative establishment name: "Express". Run of the mill Teriyaki, lo carb options, strip mall, white rice, fast service, smiley people. Can't agree with Andrew's 5-stars on this one, but I'll give it some points for being pretty good, pretty healthy, very clean, very fast, and very smiley. Extra star because it's fast food that's not unhealthy.

This place is okay, isn't really too special but they do have stuff that isn't a sandwich or burger, which you can get within walking distance of here. I sat facing away from the Teev playing Faux News near the door, it was drafty from the door opening constantly. I've had the chicken bento and chicken udon, both were good. I should add that the chicken udon is extremely spicey, not hot, but there are a bunch of spices thrown on the top.

I enjoyed my lunch. They got it prepared fast and the Chicken Katsu was very good and the portion size was nice.

I would not recommend this place unless you were starving and desperate to eat. I ordered the yaki soba noodles with chicken and it was a big disappointment. It was pretty much just yaki soba noodles drenched in teriyaki sauce with hardly any vegetables in it. I probably found two or three little pieces of cabbage in the whole thing. It seemed like they just took noodles that were sitting in a warmer and squirted teriyaki sauce all over it. Then on top of that a little strips of chicken. It was not satisfying at all nor pleasing to eat. I'd rather drive up the street to Mashitas teriyaki instead for better tasting yakisoba.

This is my go to bento spot for lunch. Food is quick and tasty , portions are generous, service is always friendly.

Not bad. Not great. Actually stopped here based on the Yelp reviews and in my search for some decent teriyaki in the area. Ordered the Chicken entree for $6.50. Not a bad deal as it includes your typical healthy helping of teriyaki chicken and rice in addition to some pickled cabbage and 2 pieces of gyoza. Overall the food was ok. Nothing over the top but your typical run of the mill teriyaki joint. The workers are super friendly and they are quick with your order. Plenty of hot and spicy sauces await you by the silverware. My mouth is still burning.

I agree with Don. B's review. This place isn't spectacular, but it gets the job done. The taste is mediocre at best, but good because at least its fairly healthy. The signs say that it's Hawaiian style teriyaki. I currently live in Hawaii and I'm not really sure what they're referring to.

Okay, so yes, this your basic bento/teriyaki place, but I've got to give it 5 stars for various reasons. One, I live near by and it's been tough to find good, quick, healthy eats for when in the middle of a project during a day off or on the way home from the gym. Second, you can ask for what ever combo mix you want, and get it with sauce on the side. I'm not a fan of sweet teriyaki sauce, so I asked if they have something else less sweet. They offerred a seasame garlic sauce which was great! They are fast with the food. Good quality, have broccoli in the veggies rather than cheap cabbage like other places. Lastly, they give great service with a smile! I don't care if they aren't ecclectic, don't have avant garde decor, or aren't unique. They have good food, are fast, good portions, flexible with the menu items, close to my house/convenient, and are nice and friendly. They fit everything I'm looking for in a place like this, and if a place does an excellent quality job at what it says it does, it gets 5 stars in my book.

Stopped here for lunch while atending a CLE right next door. Noticed as I was getting off the highway and made a mental note that I'd like to try it. It was fine. Not amazing, but perfectly solid, well-prepared, by friendly people, plenty of options. Also, I think the draw is increased given the "competition" in the area--I saw a Domino's, Subway, etc, etc. I know there's a Burgerville up by the highway (I-5), which I love, but I thought this would be a good alternative to the typical fast food, i.e. burgers and fries. I had the chicken bento. It came with a healthy number of strips of chicken, 3 dumplings and some al dente veggies (broccoli and carrots) all over white rice. The bento sauce was good--quite a lot of ginger, if that's not your thing this probably won't do it for you. I got the bento dish and a small Diet Coke for $6.40. Not a bad deal at all. This still doesn't come close to my favorite bento (Phil's Uptown Meat Market up on 23rd), and that's only $5. But if you add in the dumplings, veggies and drink, that probably does work out for the difference. If it weren't for the friendly staff, it'd probably only be three stars, but I figure a smile and small talk works out to an extra star.

I've always been a sucker for good, simple Bento....and throughout time I have found only 2 places in the states that "meet the mark" where the meat is perfectly grilled, rice is properly fluffy and the Teriyaki Sauce is just right... One was in Old Town/Tempe ...near the ASU campus...long gone and the other? The reliable Teriyaki Express in Tigard....Tualatin? ...I know the zip shows as Portland. Its so typical suburban Japanese restaurant in the inside-very cafeteria like , without the lunch ladies.....you order at the counter, the sweetest lady ever, and her memory if you go more than once is vault like...she'll recall your order before you say it ...they are amazingly fast...efficient and wow....the bento is consistent every time. and the bowl a great value for $5...and a heck of allot better for you than other fast food like choices. Sure they do Soba, Tempura, Udon Noodles etc... I care about one thing... Chicken Bento Bowl - no veggies- extra Teriyaki...to go. I have no compulsion to ever dine in ..( There is a flat screen) and I could eat it daily however I try to mix it up....nice touch I see they use real plates when dining in. I do like when I do think of veggies- they use fresh Broccoli instead of the crap cabbage you may get in other places. I have only been there between 11:30-12:30 pm on weekdays...I can offer no other details other than if they were only open for an hour...I'd be good :) I can't suggest taking a special trip ...but if you are in the area ..you work in this part of metro -T Express and their Bento is impossible to beat!

Nothing special about this place. Inexpensive, close to work - it's not my favorite but every now and then I get the craving for some cheap teriyaki, and this is my go to place. Usually, chicken yakisoba, occassionally tofu rice bowl. Lots of chili sauce makes the dish completely acceptable, otherwise, I would find it too boring. i will continue coming because of it's proximity and the service is actually good, but if you're looking for japanese food, this is not really the place to go.

I've always liked this place..it's close to work, fast & pretty good. However the woman owner really pissed me off this week bitching at me that it costs her .25 cents to run a credit transaction after my gift card I was trying to use didn't work. Look lady , I obviously didnt know it would be a problem & that's the cost of doing business. You just lost a loyal customer.

Been eating here for over a year. The food is great, the lady who works there is always smiling and nice. She even bakes cookies everyday that you can buy, 2/$1. I always make sure to call a head for my order, it's usually pretty busy... probably because the food is good but it's worth it. You can always customize your order, which is always a nice thing :)

I'm a fan of the "Low-Carb" dish, which is chicken, with broccoli and carrots. I think I tried one of the noodle dishes and was unfortunately hungry about an hour later. Quite a few guy friends love "Jack's Plate" which I guess can be customized for how spicy, but it is generally REALLY spicy, and that's not really my thing. Usually get my food to go, and they are very quick.

So I just started a new job right by here and thought I might give this place a go since it smelled great and was so close. I have not has a decent bento bowl in a long time since I live in Beaverton and there really just are not decent bento places by me. Immediately I noticed how amazingly clean and neat this place is - especially for a little hole in the wall strip mall. So then I noticed how cheap the food is....and the speed, she takes those orders fast and accurate. It is pretty amazing indeed. She even remembers a lot of customers by name and is super friendly but not fake at all. I was impressed at how many regulars go there! Even with the sheer volume of people though they are still smokin fast and accurate. Before I even sat down my order was ready and was very good! I have never had any restaurant deliver that fast! The food for the price is pretty impressive and they do not even skimp on the sauce! Just wow... I also must say I loved the variety of their menu but for $6.20 you get the chicken bento which is a pile of rice, chicken teriyaki with lots of sauce, a small pile of veggies and three chicken gyoza which are fresh and perfectly crispy and fresh plus a drink! Great value!

I'm pretty addicted to this place for lunch. Very no frills, but the food is tasty and comes out very fast -- usually in about 2 minutes. They have an impressive bar of sauces to dress up your dish to the spice level of your liking. And the prices are right.

My work buddy goes here several times a week for lunch and once in awhile he grabs me a rice bowl either beef, chicken or shrimp. It's pretty decent and the people that run the place are ultra cool and friendly. Sometimes the beef tastes a little off or maybe overcooked but overall its a good place for lunch.

Very nice people and good teriyaki! I always get a bento to go at lunch and it's always hot and ready. I've had better luck with some menu items compared to others, but I'm sure anyone who likes this kind of food can find something to their liking on the menu.

Good, fast teriyaki. I usually get their chicken katsu which is tasty. The space isn't anything special and the people working there are busy but friendly. Located in a strip mall, definitely has a strip mall restaurant feel, whatever that means.
