Beagles are good, coffee is decent yet I'm not too crazy about their cream cheese blends. But the service is very efficient and always pleasant and fast.

Great spot to meet clients. Im a regular customer. They pop my bagel on the toaster when they see my truck pull up. Good bagels

I stopped by since I was in the area, and thought a bagel was a good idea for lunch. I was immediately greeted the moment I walked in. How friendly! I was excited to see the glass cases filled with bagels, and mulled over the many different cream cheese options (berry flavors to veggie flavors!). I finally decided on a toasted parmesan bagel with plain cream cheese and lox. It smelled soooo good. I anxiously unwrapped it, held onto one-half of the bagel, took a bite - it was stale. REALLY? How does a toasted bagel get stale within a matter of seconds/minutes?

BAGEL SCHMAGEL! Done Noah, Einstein, Portland bagels all good. but this Sunrise place must get up pretty early to deliver a chewy gooey great tasting product. Nice selection too. A little this a little that I like them all. Half a bagel and schmear and I'm good for the morning. I agree with other reviewers $10 for a doz that's almost a month of breakfast for ten dolla..Try this place.." Whata you want from nothing, Rubber Biscuits "

After so many disappointing bagels from Noah's, Portland Bagel Company & Kettleman, I dive 8 miles for a good Bagel from Sunrise. True many times they run low on some of the bagels but I never have to worry about a bad bagel from them as they are always fresh. They have plenty of staff on so you never have a long wait and Scott the owner is a nice guy who will make sure you have a great experience. I was excited when I heard about Portland Bagel opening by Washington Square. They were old and tough like some old shoe top with cream cheese. Then Kettleman opened in Raleigh Hills once again I thought if it's as good as the other Kettleman stores then I will have a great a bagel place close to home. But they were also hard to chew it was like chewing gum and they also needed to work on their customer service. So for me when I want a good bagel I will just drive on up and see Scott they do them right and make a great bagel.

This place is fantastic! I love that the vegetable cream cheese has actual vegetables in it; no powdered veggie dip mix here! Plus, the bagels are absolutely delicious. My only complaint is the ordering system. The last time I was in it was really busy, but I was the only one in line to order as I walked in. None of the employees even said "hello" for a minute or two because they were frantically running around and making food for those in the pick-up area. It seemed a bit disorganized to me, but I can't complain too much. They were super friendly once I ordered, and I got my food really quickly too. Also, the place feels a little too open or something. The decor is not very cozy or welcoming which I kinda enjoy when I am still half asleep.

I visited Sunrise Bagels shortly before they closed on a Saturday (I had just rolled out of bed). Although the bagel display had dwindled down to about a 1/4 of their usual selection, there were still at least 16 bagel types to choose from. I found some interesting flavors including a snickerdoodle-type bagel with cinnamon and sugar on top, a cheddar bagel with the cheddar baked into it, there was even one that looked like a little pizza. Other unique flavors are blueberry cobbler, sweet rye and pesto/parmesan. I ordered one cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese, and one Eggel with scrambled eggs, tomato & basil cream cheese on an Asiago bagel. Both tasted amazing. They use the perfect amount of cream cheese, so you don't feel like you have Bagel Belly by time you're done. Also, the bagels had this amazing texture where it was like bagel meets sourdough bread meets brioche. Is that even possible!??! The original location in Vancouver, WA prepares the dough, but they're shipped every day, proofed and baked in house. Also, I have a tip. The owner says their signs say they opened at 6:30 on weekdays, but if you want to stop by at 6am, the bagels are just coming out of the oven and they turn the lights on for customers to start coming in. Can you imagine serving fresh out of the oven bagels to guests staying at your house? Yum! Oh and finally, the prices are pretty decent. A bagel with nothing on it just to take home is $1, but if you want a baker's dozen, it's only $9.95 (compare that to Noah's $14.50). Overall, I know I'll be coming back to Sunrise frequently, and I really have no excuse (I live right across the street).

I go to Sunrise Bagels almost every Saturday. I like their bagels and coffee. Service is teen spirit and owner is aloof . The bagels taste really good. I recommend the Lox sandwich it is good. But I guess you just couldn't make it bad...... They really should use gloves though. No touchy my salmon with your Glee thumbs! I don't know I should be happy at least I don't have to get a albertson's bagel!

This is one of the best bagels I've ever had. I definitely recommend trying Sunrise. My favorite is the Canadian eggel. Not only is the food really good, but the staff is very quick and really friendly. It's always a pleasure to go in there.

Everything I've tried here has been fantastic (various breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and just regular bagel varieties.) The owner is extremely customer service oriented. When he brought me my latte he noticed the sandwich I was eating was messy and brought me a fork and napkin. The kids who work here are always friendly too. Yesterday I tried Einstein Bros. Bagels for the first time thinking it'd be great. The service sucked and the bagel wasn't any better than what I'd buy in a supermarket. Go to Sunrise if you want the good stuff- always the perfect combo of crispy on the outside/chewy on the inside like a bagel should be, and the service can't be beat.

This is a review by a vegetarian 3.5 stars These are better than some of the schlock around here and they're reasonably priced at $9.95 per baker's dozen. Oddly, they get the outside right here but the inside crumb is kind of dry and airy without heft. Also, I impose a 3.5 star limit on bagel places that sell flavors that sound appropriate for pop-tarts. Fruitwave?

  • Cindy I.

I can only comment on the bagels. They are just done the right and traditional way - boiled not baked. The right amount of chewy and when you toast them they are nice and soft inside. I did take off a star for no egg flavor. They have some odd looking flavors. I'm glad it's near my work to swing by since there are no good bagel places near my house. Just don't go too late they close early or run out of some flavors.

Best bagels in Beaverton, or Portland for that matter. I'm a regular and drive from Forest Grove at least once a week. The pastrami is lovely on a Jalapeño bagel.

I like this place.....definitely! Excellent sandwiches, very good bagels, very good coffee/tea drinks, pleasant atmosphere with lots of light, and a friendly staff. I've had bagels in NY City and Chicago, and these don't compare, but I've yet to find any as good in Portland. I believe they have two locations, the other being in either Aloha or Hillsboro. I do wish they had potato salad, though.

Rare is the occasion when a visit to a local business has me drafting a positive Yelp review in my head before I'm even out the door - particularly when the sky is releasing murky drizzle and my throat hurts. I had hiked up the hill from my apartment to grab lunch at Sunrise Bagels. All I'd heard about the place was that their bagels were pretty darn good, and the location is ultra-convenient for me. As I approached the door, I noticed that the establishment looked fairly empty and right as I reached for the door handle, I saw the sign noting that Sunrise had closed 10 minutes earlier. Before I could turn to leave, a man inside jumped up from his table and, opening the door, motioned me inside. He assured me that, although they were in the process of closing, I was welcome to stay and order food, which he promised would be fresh. Since it was my first visit, I opted for a simple Parmesan bagel and a side of garden veggie cream cheese - in order to assess the proverbial "bread and butter" of the business. I was prepared to get my food "to go" due to the circumstances, but two female employees encouraged me to stay and eat if that was what I wanted. I got my food and took a seat by the window. I always order cream cheese on the side because many bagel shops slather on way too much. Here though, I found myself adding more and more of it to my bagel. It was creamy and rich, peppered (no pun intended) with bright, gem-colored bits of chopped vegetables. The bagel was savory and baked (boiled?) to perfection. As I was finishing up, the man who had invited me in stopped over to make sure I had been taken care of. He introduced himself as the owner, Scott. Sunrise Bagels has definitely earned my repeat business. Their level of friendly, accommodating service was a very welcome treat on such a gray day.

Sunrise Bagels is a good suburban bagel joint. They win me over 3 ways: 1) Saltier than usual 'Everything' bagel 2) Cheap, rich coffee 3) Friendly owner/staff I only consume 1 type of bagel in life, the everything bagel. The version at Sunrise is a bit saltier than I usually have, but I like a little salt now and then, so I like this bagel. The drip coffee is stronger and cheaper than most places in town. The owner is very friendly and remembered me after only 1 visit. The staff is friendly and helps with anything you need. The only negative for me is the veggie bagel sandwich, which is a disappointment, compared the Portland Bagel, the Sunrise sandwich is barren. Two slices of tomatoes, a piece of lettuce, a couple raw peppers, and that's about it!

  • John M.

Hmmm, great bagels (if they have any on the racks)...been there too many times where they don't have any bagels made...I guess this is a great sign when the food you pump out is gone immediately...however, it's a bad sign when you are craving a soft, chewy bagel and the only flavor is Fruity Tooty (or something with a combination of 3 berries).... Now I rarely go there because of this scarcity of round chewy baked things... One other issue I have with this place is the constant upsell attitude of the staff to sell me more stuff above and beyond what I want...very similar to visiting Jiffy Lube where the sales pressure overwhelms the experience....

  • Liliana G.

The bagels are great, but I wish they put more cream cheese on. on the plus side, salmon cream cheese on a bagel costs the same as plain, so yumm! this is def going to be my new go to for morning bagels in my hood.

  • Desiree H.

Numerous amount of bagels to choose from......hmmmmm let me see....allseed, allberry, asiago..,,,,which to choose from....hmmm I was impressed with the different types of cream cheeses they had too. I personally am not much of a cream cheese person, but here I am! They also have espresso and lattes if needed too Customer service was a plus here too. I will be returning to try out the allberry bagel next time.

I am a regular here and go there for the convenience .. One thing I have always liked is no matter who you are after just a couple visits they will do there best to know your name and make you feel at home. The owner Scott is always there and friendly . Great staff that reflects the same customer service techniques of the owner. The employees here remind me of Les schwab employees in the hussel they show The one issue I have had is that the prices have gone up on 2 seperate occasions that I can remember just in the past few years. For the ammount of food you get it's a bit of a steep price in my opinion but the quality is there. Overall I can look past that for the service and quality being so strong Overall great joint to get a bite to eat in the morning. Would not hesitate to reccomend them.

My friend and I met here for coffee with our infants. Very friendly place, reasonable prices. There were at least three other parties with infants there and saw a children's play area for older children. What was shocking is that there wasn't a changing table in the restroom! For a place that seems to appeal to parents of small children, a changing table would be a great addition! If they had a changing table, this would have gotten 4 or 5 stars.

Time to update my review. I've been coming here almost 9 years now since we moved to this side of town. Not a chain. Nice. Bagels, creamed cheeses, sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, juices, and espresso. Also nice. The owner is usually present with a nice blonde lady and a few younger people who make food ( highschool or college kids I bet(. There is some seating. You get in line, order at the counter, the kid hands you a ticket with your order on it ( this is new since I was there last), and you carry it to the register where you hand it to whoever is cashiering and you order your coffee from them. They ring you up, you pay, and put some buckage in the tip pile. (Overflowing little basket). Then you get water or soda or whatever else you need and sit your butt down. They bring you coffee and food as they finish making them. They also bring napkins which i appreciate. You bus your own table when you're done. My post cardiac stress test bagel today was perfectly toasted and open faced ( you have to ask for this to get double/more veggies which costs a little more but i dont care) with just the right amount of chive cream cheese, cucumbers, and slices of tomato on top. My chauffeur had the same thing but with red bells. My iced mocha was ok. Its not my favorite iced mocha but its acceptable. I like Sunrise. It's on our regular rotation. No, its not a chewy New York Bagel. Its not New York!! But I like it a lot better than Einstein's.

There are so many bagel shops to choose from, so why is this place special? service is quick even when they are busy, bagels are excellent, cream cheese is not overloaded (don't you hate that?), family run business.

  • Barry P.

Bagels are very good and consistently baked. Service is excellent and the employees are fast, and friendly. Very busy, coffees good, Owner Scott is very efficient in overseeing his business. Warning you must call ahead when ordering more then 1 dozen bagels. He would give me only 1 dozen last Friday instead of the 2 dozen I wanted.. A little demanding but he is the owner. Nice guy and his Bagels are the closest to New Jersey Bagels as I have found so far.

  • Abbie P.

Went in to order about 2 dozen bagels for my family, and after my sister ordered the manager came over and YELLED at her saying we should have called ahead of time for that many bagels, because they were so busy and he didn't want to run out. Not only did she get yelled at but so did the employee who was taking her order. She told him "sorry we had a death in the family we didn't have time to plan this" and he replied with, "well still plan ahead next time." If we didn't need these bagels to feed my huge grieving family, we would have turned around and walked out. I have never been treated like this and never will return--even for just one bagel.

Bagels are made in house. Sandwich options are small, but varied enough to appeal to everyone. Espresso is really inexpensive for the area. The owner is a little off putting. He seems like a micro-manager. But generally pleasant to deal with. All in all a great experience, and I will be returning often.

I've driven past this place at least 100 times before I decided to stop in for a quick lunch between work appointments. They're not just for breakfast people - they have a selection of bagel sandwiches too. I ordered my favorite, lox and cream cheese on a toasted wheat bagel. The cream cheese was light and fluffy, and the lox was perfect. Great bagel! They also have a full espresso bar. Service was quick and really friendly for this first timer. They explained the difference between the official lox sandwich and the bagel with lox and cream cheese. I'll definitely be back.

Baked bready bagels like you might get in a grocery store, which is fine. Not a real boiled bagel though, and I have been disappointed with the service and management. The apparent owner talked the ear off of the customer in front of me about his bottom line, food cost, etc, while the rest of us waited. Something about it is just off. This place also has a cargo truck that can be seen barreling around the neighborhood, hawking loogies out of the window and driving aggressively. Owner's kinfolk perhaps? Sometimes the streets and on-ramps around here are littered with discarded bagels, rotting and being covered with ants. It's possible these don't come from the bagel store's truck, or is it?

  • B T.

People were nice, bagels were lack luster. Everything bagel was super salty, veggie cream cheese didn't have very much flavor or veggies that you could see. Bagels were very lightly toasted, I would probably get it toasted twice if there was a next time.

I love coming to sunrise bagels. It's arguably one of my favorite times of the week when I can come here, relax and enjoy a bagel and coffee. They have a wide selection of bagels and cream cheeses that are freshly made. My favorite combinations typically include vanilla cream cheese on a snickerdoodle bagel (for a sweet treat) and a garden vegetable or tomato basil cream cheese on a jalapeno cheddar bagel (something more savory). They also have a variety of other menu items like breakfast bagel sandwiches and cream cheese + lox bagels. Their coffee (both flavored and non-flavored) are also a great addition to any breakfast. The staff has also been kind every time I've come and the prices are very good. Years ago they used to be closed on Sunday, but I'm glad to see they are open now on Sundays as well. Being a breakfast place, they close after lunch (3pm M-F and 2pm Sat-Sun).

Someone at work brings these in every so often and I love their bagels and wide range of cream cheeses. This can be a 5 star product. When I went and got a single bagel recently, they did not make it as ordered (wrong spread) and didn't notice until I was far from the restaurant. I'd definitely recommend trying this place, but confirm that they made it right before you leave.

One thing really stood out to me: this is the first place I've EVER been that just tells you to take a soda cup for water. Isn't that kind of amazing and ridiculous? That may seem like a small deal, but to me it signifies trust, and that they aren't cheapskates. They might spend a few more cents on the cups, yet most restaurants treat you like you are going to steal from them, or like they need the extra pennies. Just relax, people, and just tell customers to grab a cup like Sunrise does. I consider this a victory for real service over corporate America. The rest of the experience was the same as my metaphor: very engaging, friendly...and the bagel was delicious with beautiful presentation. I'll come here again.

Something about childhood memories of growing up in Portland and getting a bagel downtown at Noah's every-morning just makes me want one whenever I'm back in town visiting... That being said, I had been craving a bagel with lox ever since landing in Portland (that's 5-days ago). Looking at unappetizing pictures posted from other yelpers of this place, I was going to hold out for a chance to get a boiled bagel on the NE side. But today, on my last day in Portland, I thought 'eh, what the hell' and stopped by on my way to the airport. Holy impressed! First thing I noticed was the huge crowd of people. I mean, the place was packed for so early on a Saturday morning. Second, they have quite a few options for a bagel with lox. a) lox flavored cream cheese on a bagel. b) bagel with lox: plain cream cheese with a few pieces of smoked salmon. c) lox sandwich: bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers, and a few slices of red onion. That's what I'm talking about! I got the lox sandwich and was seriously impressed by how generous they were with the toppings (the opposite of what I saw in said photos). A bit pricey at $6.95 for a bagel sandwich, but satisfied my craving.

The bagels are decent, but I swear I won't be back. Each time I have been in the employees have been less than enthused to be there dealing with customers. I just get the feeling I am inconveniencing the people who work here by just walking through the door. I get attitudes or a completely flat affect from whoever is working the counter. There was an older guy there one morning, I assumed he was the owner since he was telling people what to do and not acknowledging customers. Anyway, he was worse than the teenaged employees so I assume he sets the pace for customer service and atmosphere. I like the bagels but I don't like leaving a place feeling crummy because of rude employees. Don't you think that's a terrible way to start your morning off? I'll spend my money elsewhere.

2/14, time for an update. I have grown to love this place, especially after yesterday. I heard from a fellow Yelper that they carry Bagel Dogs, or Doggels. I pulled up at 3:05 and they were closing for the day (at 3:00 p.m), however, they said come on in and we can still help you. I was able to get my Doggel fix and took two home. I had one for breakfast and it was delicious. Not something I would want every day but now I don't have to make them myself when I get a craving. Super nice kids running the place, excellent Customer Service.

LOVE Sunrise Bagels! Although I wish they were open a bit later this place serves up some of the best bagels on the west side. What I love most about this place is the service. Everyone is super friendly and ready to help you with your order even if the place is packed. My go-to order of course are their bagel breakfast sandwiches. Egg, ham, cheese, add tomato and you are set! Want to get real crazy!? Add cream cheese on there as well. Unfortunately my diet does not allow for me to eat here often but man is it a treat! Their bagels are always fresh and delicious. My fave being the jalapeno/cheddar. Always a great selection of coffee and juices. You can even order espresso. Being that it is directly across from my neighborhood -it's great!

I am torn, and I am considering 3 stars for this place. But then I remind myself that the bagel voyage I have embarked upon is a lonely one, and often leaves casualties in its wake. So when you start to actually compare bagels against one another, sometimes you have to choose "Meh, I've experienced better". The place is open with lots of windows. No decor to speak of. They do have a magazine rack up front, but it was all road & track and crap like that! No real feel to it - a typical (non-deli) bagel place. Parking is a breeze. Of course the crappy used Mercedes van that came in later decided to take up 4 - count them, 4 spaces in the lot! First thing I noticed was the disturbing amount of flavor offerings that just shouldn't be... well... offered. They had color specs in them. COLOR SPECS people! Strawberry cobbler, chocolate chip. fruitwave... Can I get a WTF and a YUCK!! We got a roast beef sandwhich on a chdedar bagel and a sesame with cream cheese. The flavor is not bad. Not as tasty as West Coast, tastier than Safeway. But the bagels are a liittle lacking, taste-wise and texture-wise. They are WAY to mushy - like bread. The bagel surface had no hardness to it at all. I only ask for them to toast if the bagel isn't quite fresh enough. These were definitely fresh, too damn soft. Should have toasted it. It worked far better on the sandwich than the bagel & cr cheese. The sandwich tasted ok, not bad even (roast beef, swiss, mayo, mustard, pickles, lettuce). But I think there was one piece of roast beef on there, and it was not particularly quality meat. So for $5.75 (which does include any extras for one price), it's certainly not a really good deal. I forgot to notice the price of a dozen, and since I was actually paid for (such a rarity), I didnt even notice the price of a bagel and cream cheese. But all in all, I'm not terribly impressed.

This was a great bagel place and an ok coffee place. The bagels were awesome and there was a large variety of flavors. My boyfriend and I each had the jalapeno cheddar bagel. I had a Canadian Eggel, which was a bagel with egg, bacon, and cheese. It was good. My boyfriend had the lox sandwich, which was lox, capers, cream cheese, and red onions. I liked his better than mine. The coffee here was just ok. I had a white chocolate mocha and it didn't really have much flavor and just tasted watery. I would love to have another bagel here though next time I'm in town.

I was so happy to find there was a Sunrise by me! I used to work in Vancouver near the other location and would stop here much too much. I mean....way too much. Their bagels are fresh, chewy and delish with cream cheese lathered on top. They have a good variety of flavors of bagels & cream cheese for any taste. Love it!

Good place, a variety of bagels to choose from, and some good lattes! I usually get the American Eggel (bagel of your choice with egg & cheese). A latte with that, good way to start your morning. Everyone is real friendly that work there. They have the morning paper there too if you decide to eat in and read. Good place! I definitely recommend. Happy eating!

I find myself visiting Sunrise Bagels at least once every two weeks to bring home a half dozen of these doughy delights. I haven't tried any of the sweet/fruit bagels as of yet (and to be honest, I don't intend to as I am more of a savory bagel fan). My favorite varieties that they offer here include the Everything (not super salty or garlicky), the Parmesan (really delicious with basil pesto cream cheese) and the Jalapeno Cheddar (my husband usually gets to these before I do, but that is okay with me!). They have many other menu items but I don't stray far from the bagels. I like that they offer a huge variety of Odwallas. The service is fast and friendly and the dining area is always clean. The one thing that I ordered that I really didn't like to a point where I couldn't finish it was their herb cream cheese. They do not use fresh herbs in this cream cheese and opt for the dried variety making the cream cheese taste like something close to an ashtray mixed with a spice cabinet. There is a possibility I got a bad batch, but I won't try it again to find out. As my review reflects, Sunrise is a great place to get some really tasty bagels, just beware the herb cream cheese!

I always enjoy getting the cream cheese and lox, or the lox sandwich... both are delightful, just depends how stinky you want your breath to be when done! (Lox sandwich boasts onions, capers and tomatoes in addition to cream cheese and lox. Whew!) Shop run by really nice local guy who is in the shop every single day I've been. Always happy to support local! Wish they'd upgrade to more eco-friendly options for the napkins, and the in-house diners. (Maybe ceramic mugs?) Great place for a relatively inexpensive and very yummy breakfast with the fam!

Pros: Their crisp bagel skins give way to a chewy body that's always fresh, in my experience. The classic and novel flavors selection is right on, as is the schmear. I dig the lox sandwich and the eggels are decent, though I'd like to see higher quality ingredients used. Cons: The salt n pepper haired owner has a disturbing aura about him; aggressively micro managing the exclusively young female staff (I have seen a couple teenage males working there in the past). The coffee is lousy. The only non-dairy additive option is soy (by request only). Bottom line: If the owner were to take a hike (and get some help), contract with a decent coffee provider, put out some decent dairy alternatives, ditch the microwaves, and hook up higher quality sandwich ingredients then this place would be fantastic. One more thing: stop priming the tip tray with a paper clipped dollar bill.

Stopped in for 2 doz morning bagels for the office, sliced and boxed. The staff was great and very quick. The owner was a little stressed and curt since I didn't call ahead and made sure I had a menu for next time. The bagels were awesome and a huge hit in the office. I will definitely return. Thank you!

just like i remembered it from grade school. this time though, being older with matured taste buds, i opted for an onion bagel with garlic shmear and lox.. sooo good. i also got a snickerdoodle to-go (non toasted) and that was so good, it was a dessert all in it's own. this is a franchise on the west side of portland and i was use to the sunrise bagels located 3 minutes away from my grade school in vancouver washington next to the dairy queen by st. joes. always brings back good memories. since noah's pretty much closed up shop everywhere, this is kind of a go to place now. they offer many different varities of bagels, bagel sandwiches and different variations incorporating the bagel like bagel pizza and bagel dogs etc. always winners. owner was also super nice and informative and knowledgeable about his bagels. bueno!

We came here after seeing all of the great reviews and we were not entirely disappointed. It was very busy on a weekend morning which was to be expected. We were lucky enough to find a table though so that was nice. We were surprised, I guess maybe we shouldn't have been, that they didn't have anything besides bagels. My daughter doesn't like bagels so we had to go to the Albertsons across the parking lot for her. I had an egg, sausage and cheese bagel and it was good. My husband had the same but with bacon and he enjoyed his as well. We both had coffee and it was alright as well. Overall this place was good but nothing special.

Every time I go to Sunrise Bagels I always am greeted by the kids behind the counter with a friendly face. They are polite and attentive. The sandwich I get and soup is guaranteed to be yummy in my opinion. The owner is there always and does not miss a trick with his employees. In my opinion this is a great start for all young people going into the service business. He insists on great service and prompt service. Its a favorit place for me.

Good bagels, but awful service. They get super cranky if you only buy bagels. They badly want customers to buy something else with obviously high markups. They are always trying to convince me to pay extra to have my bagels sliced and roll their eyes when I decline the payable service.

I give this place 4 stars only because 5 stars would need to be "out of this world", not just "delicious". Delicious these bagels certainly are! No need to add anything on them...just eat them as you buy them. The whole family enjoys them.

Sunrise puts out a consistent, dependable product. They have Emergen-C drink as a selection in the fountain drinks which is rare and wonderful! The owner is almost always there and expects tight customer service out of the smiling and polite kids working the counter without being rude to them. It works. He delivers. Good selection of bagels, asiago and whole wheat being the favorites in my household.

If you're west of the hill, finding a good bagel is a pretty difficult task. But Sunrise Bagels is a welcome refuge from all that. They've got a big selection of really good bagels served up by about the nicest people you'll find behind the counter of any shop. Really excellent customer service. If you go there enough, you'll feel like Norm walking into Cheers. If you're new, they'll still be nice. The seating area is also pleasant space to be in. While the bagels aren't quite the works of art put out by the folks at Bridgetown Bagel, they're still really, really good. (Indeed, if I was grading on a curve based on what's available on the west side, Sunrise would easily get five stars.) Highly recommended.

I thought the staff was wonderful, very polite and courteous. The owner, however nice he seemed to his customers, seemed a little short with his employees. I've witnessed this on several occasions. The bottom line is that I'm still going to frequent Sunrise and at some point, hopefully, the owner will be able to get through whatever it is he's dealing with. Excellent, friendly service, exceptional bagels, organic teas, apparently very good coffee. I would recommend going there anytime, any day. A little request: Consider bringing in stevia packets for coffee and tea.

I thought this place was great until I started going to Kettleman's on 23rd. Scott, the owner seems to be very hands on and friendly to most customers, but must have a problem with me because he is not so friendly to me. He is trying to create this one on one vibe by assigning an employee to each customer which does allow for a quick turn around time, but generally it involves him yelling at all the employees trying to train them on this crazy system he is working out. He's been working on it for months. It also seems inefficient and like he probably always has 2 or 3 more people on than should be required. The bagels are not authentic like at Kettlemans or even Noahs. They taste baked, not much to them. Their breakfast sandwiches are made of microwaved eggs and bacon, nothing prepared fresh. Kettleman's prepares a fresher sandwich at a lower cost. I get a weird vibe in the restaurant, certainly doesn't make me feel welcome or like I want to stick around for any period of time. I will say this place is much better than the local shops in Beaverton, but for my money, I will head to NW.

Not sure why it took me so long to try this place. It's a little gem in my neighborhood. Super efficient, friendly and good. I knew what I wanted when I walked in. "Jalepeno Bagel, toasted, with lowfat cream cheese and sliced tomatoes." The guy behind the counter said "yes, yes, yes, yes (with a smile)...should I also cut that in half for you?" good experience. good bagel. I'm being stingy with my stars these days. I wanted to gve 5 but should try a second time before I commit.

My boyfriend and I really enjoy breakfast from here. You go in and there's a long line (because they're awesome), but you get to the front pretty quickly. Bagels toasted to perfection. Meats, cheeses, sauces - all delicious. My advice? Go for the Canadian with ham!

Best Bagels in Portland Really good bagels, nice and chewy, great toasted and love their cream cheese varieties, like the jalapeno bagel, the asagio cheese bagel, and the everthing bagel. Ok, so the bagels are good, the coffee is good, lots of variety so you can switch it up as much as you want and not get bored. That's above standard and great to see at a bagel shop. However, what makes this place stand out is the awesome service you get. The workers are the happiest people I have seen and many of them (even young ones!) have been there for years, so they must be doing something right to retain them. I've waltzed in 5 minutes before closing when they are all busy cleaning up, chairs already up, etc, and they just jump to help me get my food and coffee. No rushing me out the door, no attitudes about wanting my business (but really just wishing I would leave). Even firing up the smoothie machine at the last minute, which we all know must be a pain to clean again. I've seen the owner, Scott, outside of the shop, too, and he seems to know everyone and greets them by name. Every time I go there he is working. That kind of devotion to being part of the success of his business, and part of the community is something I am willing to support. The only reason there aren't 5 stars up there is that the prices are just a little high for the sandwiches, and I wish they had a Vegan option for cream cheese. But buy their day-old bagels off the counter and you will be happy all week! I don't mind waiting just a little longer, since I love everything else they do. Now if only they had a drive thru...

There are lots of great bagel places in town, but I wanted to add a quick review of this place, one of my favorite. There are many many varieties of bagels, along with tasty assortment of cream cheeses - I'm partial to the honey-walnut cream cheese on a "Fruitwave" bagel. This location is at Cedar Hills and Barnes Rd. Definitely worth a visit if you are in this part of town.

This place is pretty good. Lots of different types of bagels and all the extras (sandwiches, hot breakfast items, lattes, etc..). My only complaint is that even on days when it seems like every high schooler in the Cedar Mill area is working in there (I counted 9 employees one Sat morning). My food/drink always seems to take a bit longer than I think it should... That said, they are nice, friendly, locally owned and put out good eats.

Thank you!

just like i remembered it from grade school. this time though, being older with matured taste buds, i opted for an onion bagel with garlic shmear and lox.. sooo good. i also got a snickerdoodle to-go (non toasted) and that was so good, it was a dessert all in it's own. this is a franchise on the west side of portland and i was use to the sunrise bagels located 3 minutes away from my grade school in vancouver washington next to the dairy queen by st. joes. always brings back good memories. since noah's pretty much closed up shop everywhere, this is kind of a go to place now. they offer many different varities of bagels, bagel sandwiches and different variations incorporating the bagel like bagel pizza and bagel dogs etc. always winners. owner was also super nice and informative and knowledgeable about his bagels. bueno!

Fruitwave?

I was so happy to find there was a Sunrise by me! I used to work in Vancouver near the other location and would stop here much too much. I mean....way too much. Good place, a variety of bagels to choose from, and some good lattes! I usually get the American Eggel (bagel of your choice with egg & cheese). A latte with that, good way to start your morning.

One of the best "authentic" bagels in the PORTLAND Area - tasty and chewy the way a bagel is supposed to be.

The bagels are great, but I wish they put more cream cheese on. on the plus side, salmon cream cheese on a bagel costs the same as plain, so yumm! this is def going to be my new go to for morning bagels in my hood.

Scott and the team at Sunrise are great! Wonderful bagels, great service, kid friendly, always greet regulars by name. Best bagels in PDX!

Amazing bagels! My favorites are their Everything, Cinnamon Delight, and Parmesean. Their sandwiches are also amazing. Manager is very friendly.

Bagels Remind me of when I lived in NY, and the owners and the staff are hopping to help here. You know it's good when they know regulars on first name basis.
