I was excited when this placed opened in the neighborhood. It is very convenient and yet I try to avoid going here because I was with Mike K. when he had his unfortunate experience. PS we made breakfast at home that morning after that. I usually go in and get a six inch turkey, I was excited when I saw the commercials on TV about February saying it was February foot long and that all foot longs were $5. Yeah, not so here. They don't honor the national chains bargains. I frequently, will get their sandwiches and then pop over to 7-11 and get a Big Gulp and chips or whatever, because this place charges $1.95 for a 20 ounce bottle. For less money I can get a soda and other snacks to go with the sandwich. This is my go to place when I'm in a rush and I want a sandwich. The last time I was in there was Wednesday and they had the health inspector there. You'll be happy to know they got a 96. However, why the Multnomah County Health Inspector comes in and rates the place at 11:30am on a week day is beyond me. There was a line because one person was dealing with the inspector. The clerk that helped me insisted on singing loudly (she's also the one that announced in a loud voice that they got a 96) and said who's calling to bother me now when the phone rang. I think she was trying to be funny but it just struck me as she was trying to do some sort of stand up comedy. If that's the case, I need a least a two drink minimum for this kind of thing. I'll be back only because it's convenient.

Food standard subway. Staff couple nice girls and an old angry woman which will be the reason I NEVER return to this place. Extra cheese four slices for $1.50 (at my local subway they charge .50) this place is trying to rip people off with the stuff they can. Yes its a franchise thus they must honor the 5$ deal. Well screw you store #25542. I will begin telling all on campus how much you guys suck. Might make a difference might not. If not for the nice young gals I would rate a 1 star but those girls deserve some recognition.

Subway? More like Sub-par. The other reviews are sadly accurate; this Subway disappoints in almost every possible way... So where do I start? For one, their prices across the board seem to be about $1 higher per sandwich than average for the Portland area. When you're taking about a $4 sandwich, that's basically a 25% price increase, which is kind of crazy. In addition, they don't participate in any of the promotions such as sub of the day, or $5 footlongs. Though the staff has always been courteous, they seem to have incredible turnover- I come here during lunch hour at least every 3 or 4 weeks, and each time there seems to be an entirely new staff working. Due to the staff perpetually being made up of greenhorn employees, the result is much slower service than one should expect at a Subway, and some fairly sloppily made sandwiches. Despite their inflated prices, this location is pretty stingy with its portions- apparently the owner of this store is infamously cheap. I've seen employees actually count out how many olives to put on my sandwich, and when I asked for extra, add two or three more. Seriously??? The fact that the store is always kind of cold inside (ceiling fans running in the middle of winter?); and always has some top 40 garbage radio station blaring, means that it's not a very inviting place to stop for lunch. I have to wonder if it's a deliberate attempt to dissuade people from lingering over their sandwiches; if so, it seems to be working. I only come here at all because there are so few options in the area for a quick, cheap lunch. Other than the excellent coffee shop two doors over, this is pretty much the only other option that doesn't involve a drive-thru. Still, as much as I prefer to get out of the office for lunch, coming here is about an attractive an option as eating a bologna sandwich at my desk.

They are frequently out if all sorts of stuff and no AC. During the summer it is way too hot to enjoy your meal.

This is the worst subway I have ever been to - which is unfortunate because I live about 200 yards away. I have now decided to drive the 1.5 miles to Subway hear the Reagal Movie theatre because their service/quality/prices are much better. This subway is constantly out of items.... usually only has a couple types of bread available and always out of tomatos, chicken, ect. The topper is that they are always out of olives! Olives come in a gallon can and last for over a year... how can you run out? Usually only have one or two people working which means it can be 20 minutes with just a few people in line... Recently, i was in a hurry and went to this Subway against by best judgement. what a mistake! They were out of 2 of the breads I wanted - and out of olives - again! I asked the employee behind the counter, "how can you always be out of olives? They come in a can and last for years." Their response: "Our owner is really cheap." I told them that I figured as much and thats why I almost always to go the other Subway on 99... 2 employees responded with" "Thats actually a good idea. They are alot better than we are and do alot mor business than we do." Enough said!

I always like to give people and businesses the benefit of the doubt. If they give me attitude once, I generally chalk it up to them having a bad day. In this case though, there is a pattern of behavior. In the past I frequently came here in the morning for a breakfast sandwich. Even though this place is dead in the morning, rarely did I not get a serious dose of attitude from whatever twentysomething they had hired, who apparently drew the short straw for the morning shift. Dude, you're on the clock getting paid, I'm the one guy in a space of 10-15 minutes that you actually have to help, and I even make the order easy for you. You should be happy you're not working the lunch rush! Or maybe you're dreading the upcoming lunch rush and deciding to take it out on me for some reason. Either way, I've had enough. Example 1: I ask if I can have a cup of coffee, to which he says "You could, but I haven't made any." Thanks Champ, you really came through on that one. Examples 2-1,000: The countless eyerolls I get when I order something that is on the menu...not off the menu, on it...sorry to make you do your job, bro. Example 1,001: I walk in for lunch, and no sooner do I get both feet through the door than both of the winners behind the counter start screaming at me. I can't make sense of their tandem hollering for a bit, then I figure out they're screaming "Toaster's broken!" OK, that helps a lot, if I was going to have a toasted sandwich, which I wasn't. But thanks for the yelling and for the way-too-long explanation about how it's going to take at least 45 minutes for the guy to come out and fix the toaster. Never mind, I'll just go to 7-11. I haven't been back ever since then.

They seem busy all the time. Pastrami is way to fatty.

It's a Subway. What else do you need to know? I know this location will sometimes not participate in the 5 dollar footlong deals. You may want to call ahead if that is what you are going in for. Other than that it is no different than any other Subway.

this subway is a total rip-off! they do not participate in the "februany" or any other NATIONAL promotions! false advertising! bait and switch! greedy! her employees are great and very embarassed she refuses to honor the specials. i spoke with corporate subway three times within one month and the owner of this subway refuses to contact me. obviously she does not really care about her customers nor does she care she has lost a loyal, long-time customer. i will go elsewhere from now on and tell everyone i know how horribly this franchise is operated. also watch out for all her subways: 6302 SW Capitol Hwy, 11120 SW Capitol Hwy, 8730 SW Terwilliger Bvd and 8952 SW Barbur Bvd.
