I love being close to this Starbucks but my love affair is over. My husband and I have recently taken out our espresso machine and put away our coffeemaker so we could enjoy different types of coffee. Now, I wonder if I'm spoiled for lattes from Starbucks taste like milk with a bit of coffee. So now I'm going to try their short cappuccino and see if that's the way to go.

A word about me... I'm a gold card carrying Starbucks addict. One of the redeeming qualities of Starbucks is that you know what you're getting when you go. At least most of the time that's true. My experience at the Fubonn Starbucks on 82nd didn't come close to the level of customer service I've come to expect. I stood at the counter for several minutes without a word of acknowledgment from any of the baristas. Finally, someone came over and took my drink order, and it seemed like my presence was a huge inconvenience to her. I would have let all of that go and not written a review if I hadn't used the restroom. The restroom was disgusting and there were no paper towels. The location wasn't nearly busy enough to explain the filth.

I know, I know, it's Starbucks. I actually like this location and anytime I come here, the baristas are really friendly and provide great service. They've got free Wi-Fi, which makes studying here a possibility. If you're in the mood to shop with your drink, there's the large Asian shopping market, Fubon, a few steps away. It's fun to explore the interesting food Fubon has to sell.

This Starbucks has a very nice group of people brewing and serving coffee to the masses. I have been coming here for almost a year now and this is hands down one of my favorite places to get coffee. A big PROPS to the people that work here. Super speedy drive thru. Really clean clean in side the place too.

I often come here on Sunday mornings after I drop the sweetheart off at work which is just a few blocks away. This is right next to Fubonn which is perfect because I can do a little grocery shopping and stop for coffee when I'm done. (Sometimes shopping at Fubonn requires a pick-me up after having to deal with the crowd i.e. those who stand in the middle of the aisle with their shopping cart for no apparent reason) I've done the drive thru a couple of times and usually when I have my dogs with me. The person at the window is always nice and the small talk is pleasant. It's like borderline awkward because you both know you're shooting the breeze to past time until the drink arrives and, maybe it's just me, right before the drink arrives I always end up wondering how much longer I can keep up this chatter. BUT the act of it is pleasant and I appreciate it. It's better than awkward silence. There is outside seating and the inside is quite nice. The interior is typical Starbucks. Dark wood. Comfy. It's a coffee shop, what do you expect. Service is good. Drinks are good.

Between the dude sounding like he's training to be in a renaissance fair and the syrupy sweet young lady (who I thought was mocking me, but just turns out she sounds like that), I have always had an interesting and friendly conversation through the drive-through. There really is no where else for me to stop in between my jobs, except to the coffee shop/tanning salon (which just seems like a weird combo and I really don't want my coffee to taste like Hawaiian Tropic suntan oil). So, I've gone ahead and sold my soul to the devil--which means, I stop at the Starbucks, and quite honestly, it's not a horrendous experience like I thought it would be. Sure, the coffee tastes like it's burnt all the time and I hide the label on the paper cup because I'm ashamed, but the people and service here just could not be any nicer. Plus, there's an Asian bakery inside Fubonn that compliments the mediocre coffee quite nicely on days that I need a pick-me-up. So, drive-thru Starbucks by Fubonn, I say unto you, "Onward!"

If your brave enough to drive into the Fu Bonn shopping center, there is a Sbux drive thru here. Its like playing a video game: swerving left and right and a sharp left, slam on the brakes then gun it and WHAM, your finally in the drive thru lane and placing your order. The only thing that I like about this particular Bux is the people who work the window. They are funny and weird and like to make fun of you while you order. I spent 6 years as a barista and I know how little joy the job brings so I appreciate a quirky drive thru experience. I have been called " hot momma", " hipster" and " pretty lady" while placing my order and all those comments are fine by me. My only beef with this store in particular is they constantly charge me .60cents for soy milk in my coffee. This is ridiculous and wrong and when I have called them out on it I have received a myriad of responses. From, " Oh sorry" to "Thats how we have to ring it up, its policy" I have never been inside so I can't comment on the interior, but I am sure its like all the other millions of Starbucks in the world. Clean, and boring.

Why do I keep subjecting myself to crappy Starbucks when there are so many other options in PdX!

I went in quite early one morning, there was absolutely no one waiting in line or sitting in the seating area. I needed to use the restroom really bad so headed straight for it. There was someone in it so I was waiting outside. Without asking the clerk, I was notified that there was indeed someone in the restroom and I was asked if i wanted to order my coffee. I politely declined and said I wanted to wait until I was done with the restroom. I was then rudely told by the clerk that "for next time, it is Starbucks' policy that customers order their coffee before they go to the bathroom". What?! I was appalled. I must make an order before i am required to 'relieve' myself?! Starbucks' decides what order I do that in?? I easily decided to not wait for the restroom (even though I had to go really bad) and NOT to buy a coffee or anything. I left and will not be returning to any Starbucks' ever again.

Waited but the service was so slow that I had to leave. Very slow and they did not appear to be concerned about that. LOL

Some really funny people work here. Good service. Outside seating and a Drive Through.
