Starbucks is starbucks. If you live in America, and especially in the Northwest, I doubt I can share anything you haven't heard before. They make a fair cup of coffee, good pastries, and yummy frapadoodas. What makes this Starbucks better than others is their service. Each server is very friendly. They know your name, ask how your kid [a] and [b] are, they go beyond the normal Starbucks script of "how are you doing?" (clearly not caring how you're doing). My favs: Low fat spinach feta wrap, great on the go, and an iced chai latte

This is a Starbucks. Ok? Have you been to a Starbucks? Yeah? So let's rate it based on that. It should get rated on its own system of "as compared to other Starbucks stores." Now... this Starbucks is beautiful. Seriously. Did you see the picture in the little thumb nail? It's all Northwest craftsman, hand-stacked stone prettiness, with a two way, indoor/outdoor fireplace. Big spacious patio. Nice chairs and tables inside, that are CLEAN. The place is generally well-kept, and tidy. The service is very friendly. The drinks are made to the standard that Starbucks would like their beverages to be made. In terms of Starbucks, it's pretty much perfect. More perfect than other Starbucks stores. And do you know why? Because it's in a really nice neighborhood, with high HOA dues and where the average household income is much higher than many other areas. This means the patrons will be a little more polished, and drive nicer cars. If you have a chip on your shoulder about these things, go to a different Starbucks. If you don't, go get yourself an seasonal espresso beverage, plunk down in a comfy chair next to the beautfiul fireplace, and read your iPad.

Friendly place for anyone wanting Starbucks. But the atmosphere is stuck up rich people thinking they own everything. The place is nice and the workers do a great job getting your order done the way you want.

Awful customer service. I just tried to order a larger order which I do weekly for work and the employee said she couldn't do this for me and was rude. She then told me "good luck" in a very rude manor. I wouldn't go here regardless but how they treated a customer who wanted to give them a big order

The Day Care of Forest Heights. Wow. This has to be the worst Starbucks experience I've ever had. Apparently, if you come here around the 3:00 hour during the school year, every middle-school age child who doesn't get picked up heads here and uses the entire place as their jungle gym. Kids yelling, runnning all over the place, playing tag as they run in and out of the doors. And as near as I can tell, not one of them has a parent around. Worse, the staff here does absolutely nothing to control the rambunctious tweens. They seem totally aloof to the fact that it's even happening. I have 3 kids myself. Two of them are tweens. So I'm not against kids. But there is a time and place for rambunctious loud tweens to run around and play tag and be super loud. I'm just not convinced a starbucks is one of them. But apparently in Forest Heights, it is. :-(

It is a nice location. The staff can be friendly and then other times, they are indifferent. It is a nice place to walk to with the dog, as they have a walk-up window.

Staff is friendly and I love the doggie window walk up. We take the dog for a walk in the nearby park and then go get a coffee. There are usually many other dogs there. However, there frequently is a long line and they can be slow. Avoid after school and weekend mornings.

I stopped here when I was visiting a friend in the neighborhood. For a Starbucks, it's really a great ambiance that you would feel cozy studying/working at for a few hours.

Sigh. I love Starbucks. I know it's a corporate chain and is ubiquitous. I don't care. I know there's better coffee out there. I also don't care. I like that it's consistent. I like the taste of the coffee. I like that no matter where I am, I can always find comfort in finding a Starbucks, getting my favorite beverage, and relaxing for a minute. This is one of my favorite Starbucks. Super nice people who will chat with you, let you stare at the menu for a long time while you pretend that you're going to order something other than your usual (or even if you genuinely think you will try something new, which you (I) never do...), suggest a beverage for you, and let you hang out forever in the comfortable chairs by the fire. It's a huge space, with great seating. Plus, there's a "walk up" window for sunny days (which I hear, do exist in this bizarre NW climate). The drawbacks- it closes early- at 6 every day. And there are often lots of moms, often with crying babies. But when there aren't babies there, it's quiet and lovely.

One of the nicest Starbucks I've come across in Portland! I love the fire. It's so cosy to sit next to it with a book and sip my coffee. Definitely coming back here when I need to get some reading done. I can see how it gets very busy after school.

The hours are very inconvenient I mean close at 6 really? The workers are nice for the most part but other then that it's a starbucks so none of the drinks are consistant

I have found this location to be especially welcoming for doing work. Possibly it's because it is off the beaten path and I don't often run into people that I know, or it could be the atmosphere. There is an hour or so when this location is overrun by children, but beyond that it is fairly quite and comfortable. The ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly and the hours are standard. It would be nice if this location were open until nine or ten but overall no complaints. Nothing exceptional or lacking from this Starbucks location; it fits the mold.

Don't come here after school (between 2:30 - 4:00 PM) unless you like the noise of children. Middle and high schoolers fill the place! But if you come at a different time, you'll find this to be one of the nicer Starbucks, ambience-wise. Very nice fireplace for winter visits, nice outdoor tables for summer visits (and the outdoor tables to not sit along a busy, noisy road). Staff has always been friendly. But it is in the ritzy-snazzy neighborhood of Forest Heights. Forest Heights drivers think STOP signs don't apply to them, so drive and walk carefully. The only thing I ever get at Starbucks, since i don't like coffee, is chai tea lattes, hot or iced. They're delicious, and I have NEVER found another coffee house that can match Starbucks in this regard. And if this one is crowded, just head south on NW Miller Rd., cross Cornell, and just before you get to Barnes Rd., you'll see another one on the right. And if that one is full, go next door to the QFC Supermarket: They've got one inside. What was that Fred Willard said in "Best of Show?" - "I met my wife at Starbucks. I was sitting outside and saw this beautiful woman at the Starbucks directly across the street." (I paraphrased.) I don't agree with the review below by Courtney P. at all.

Adorable location, not to far from the grandparents house. Took a small hike hoping to end it with a cup. It was closed! What Starbucks closes before dark!? This one!! Lol. Regardless, I enjoyed the rest of my walk and ended up getting a glass of wine instead.

Unfriendly staff, poor coffee, slow service. I drive 15 minutes out of my way to go to a local place where they at least remember my coffee offer a smile and are gracious.

The coffee is consistently bad. The facility itself is modern, appealing in a way- and is a bit of a community gathering place. The counter help is generally friendly. There is a small bulletin board for community announcements and a larger board for art from the local elementary school. The pastries and food are typical Starbucks- mediocre. Overall, this coffee house has an impersonal ambiance (as does the community it is in)- which coupled with the very bad coffee make this a place whose principal asset is convenience to the local community- not much else.
