I highly recommend trying their bowls. Healthy, cheap, and delicious. One of my favourite vegetarian restaurants of all time!

HOW ON EARTH DID W MISS THIS PLACE UNTIL OUR LAST DAY IN PORTLAND????? So...I saw this place after we decided to get pizzas! the first thought in my head was "damn it, pizza Yekta? Really?" My second thought was "I'll be at Prasad in the morning for breakfast!" I can't exactly remember what we ordered but I know it was something with quinoa and it was so dang good! This is such an awesome spot, I wish we had one of these exact places in Seattle!

Prasad is a lovely little restaurant inside Pearl Yoga. The food is so nutritious - wraps, bowls, smoothies, juices, tea, kombucha, granola and treats. Needing something extra... maybe a mimosa, well, they have that too! Made fresh before your eyes. I love a place that can make healthy super delicious.

My wife is a long time vegan, so we go to places that serve healthy, delicious food... and that is a good description of Prasad. The prices are moderate, the staff are pleasant, and we enjoyed sitting outside, watching all the hipsters pedal past us... all in all, a very nice place to eat!

Prasad is extremely simple fare, where the dishes are thrown together within a minute. I thought the food and the various components, although very simple, were delicious! The food is a bit pricey and the iced coffee is really bad. It is extremely diluted and has a sour taste to it. There is not enough seating as well, but since it took over 30 minutes for our simple fare to be thrown together, we were able to scout out seats. Besides the long wait for food, the price, and the lack of seating, Prasad does do simple, vegan fare very well and I would probably eat here again....take out.

Healthy food. the chili bowl and melody fresh juice that i ordered were simply awesome. Hubby had ordered the mighty bowl and Super berry smoothie which were very average. overall a good exp.

I'm typically not a fan of vegan food because it [obviously] lacks meat, and it's often much more expensive than the stuff I actually like. However, Prasad popped up on my radar for having near perfect scores so I had to give it a chance. I'm glad that I did. I ordered their Dragon bowl, which was filled with quinoa, lentils, veggies, beans, and avo, with a side of their jalapeño cheese dressing. To my surprise, it was actually quite delicious and filling! The food here didn't masquerade around as something it's not. It's even quite affordable at between $9-10. We also shared their revitalizing wellness toddy with lemon, ginger, honey, cayenne, and echinacea in hot water. It was surprisingly delicious and filled my sauce with good vibes. While it may be strange, it really was an amazing feeling and I could really go for some right now. Service was very friendly and the cafe is actually located in a yoga studio. There are seats outside for louder conversations and if your dog is joining you. I was pleasantly surprised by Prasad and would definitely go back. Vegans will love it here! Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 9/10

Great way to start the day, with a Smokey Tempeh Scramble! Always delicious and always healthy. Prasad offers a fun atmosphere with amazing food, smoothies and more.

We were in the area for Powell's of course. One person wanted to put in more time there. The other friend wanted a beer flight from the nearby Deschutes brewery. You couldn't keep me trying out this restaurant if you tried. We parted ways for an hour to enjoy our own, very predictable, pleasures. The yelpy insights says vegetarians go nuts for this place. It is true. I was so stoked to see this menu with an impossibly long set of options - from a build your own kind of a set up to menu selection. I have no recollection of what I had. I just know I was in a happy place, eating feel-good food, wishing I could go back again and again.

If you've ever been to Cafe Gratitude (in both Norcal and Socal), Prasad has similar offerings. BUT it comes at a much cheaper price, with bigger portions and even bigger tastes. Yep, I said it. Portland has better vegan food than California. At least at Prasad they do. I had one of their specials - black bean soup, fried plantains, brown rice and avocado. So simple, and yet so delicious. I had their freshly grated ginger tea on the side. Which, btw, I was able to get three full cups out of their teapot for a mere $2.50. If I lived nearby, I would stop in EVERYDAY for this delicious tea and drink it all day long. My only regret is not grabbing one of their raw bowls to go for my trip back home. Or one of their herb tonics. Or their raw truffles. Damn. I really need to go back to Portland.

This place is simply delicious!! I looked up Vegan and vegetarian places to eat at while I am in town, and this popped up. I bookmarked it and was eager to try it! I am staying at a nearby hotel, and even the restaurant next door was saying that I should try Prasad!! I walked there, and ordered the Dragon Bowl with quinoa and green chili dressing. I ate the whole thing and told myself I was going to be back there in the AM before work for their Juice or Smoothie.:) so happy this was the first place I ate, I feel like it really set the tone for Portland :) The staff couldn't have been nicer, and the service was speedy. It couldn't have been more obvious that their food was fresh, and that they didn't add any unnecessary ingredients- which I appreciate:)

Love love love. Very healthy, fresh and reasonably priced. I had the urban bowl and a juice, sat outside and enjoyed a (rare) warm sunny PDX evening. Housed in the Yoga Pearl space, it is the prefect 'portlandia' experience.

We were looking for a fresh and healthy lunch and Prasad blew our socks off. Perfectly tasty and unapologetically vegetarian (no fake meats or tofu) this was one of the best lunches we've had. We shared the Urban Bowl with rice and the Athena's Platter, both unique and tasty. The bowl was simpler, showcasing its fresh organic ingredients, while the platter had more complex flavors and an inventive zucchini hummus. I wish we could take Prasads back to Seattle with us!

I'm Mexican and I can handle heat. I love spicy food. However- I waited in a 20 minute line for an 8 dollar smoothie that sounded good because it has cayenne pepper in it. It was undrinkable- burned the back of my throat with every sip.

I had a great visit with a colleague on my first trip to Portland. I ordered a Dragon Bowl with a kombucha. The bowl was very filling and was able to take the remainder for leftovers. The bowl held very nicely for later. I look forward to returning .

I'm on vacation and I've visited Prasad twice: dinner and breakfast. Both times were excellent meals with delicious juices. I will be back again the next time I visit. Best vegan food I've had in a long time. Love how they don't rely on the faux meats.

I have been coming here since I started At Yoga Pearl almost 2 years ago. It is a paradise for raw and healthy food. Their bowls hit the spot on the rainy days and their pasta fresca is perfect for the hot summer. Feeling sluggish? Grab a wellness shot! Want some spice in your life? Spicy Stella smoothy is perfecto! Advice. Avoid the lunch time rush if possible. Come in before 11 or after 1 if you want to be in and out. Yogis, pre-order before class so your tasty meal is waiting for you at the end! Not a NW fan, hit up their sister restaurant Harlow, in the SE!

OMG, when can this place open in Chicago so I can go multiple times a week? Its that good, and food is healthy. H3ll, I would even do yoga here (sorry Namaskar, I would have to cheat on you if Prasad made it to Chicago.) I love how its attached to a yoga studio, its very casual, and gives it a good vibe. I sat there eating lunch and reading, and enjoyed my experience that I stayed longer and got a Ginger Tea. I only went here once, and only tried one dish. I think it was the Kali bowl, which was so delicious, packed with flavor, balanced with veggies, and not a large portion. I ate it happily and when I was done, I felt my hunger was placated without being stuffed. Their other bowls looked great too, and I wish I was able to try them all. I guess there's always next time (but I'm not sure when I'll go back to Portland). Portlanders, you are truly lucky to have this in your city.

I'm hooked! I love Harlow but this place is even closer to home and they have scrambles! My husband and I ate here after a morning workout. He got their oatmeal and a smoothie and I got their tempeh scramble with their honey green smoothie. Everything was perfectly cooked (the texture of the carrots in my bowl reminded me of , a dried radish used to make a common Korean side dish) and well seasoned. The carrot habanero sauce that came on the side was so good I almost licked the bowl clean. Can't wait to work through the rest of their menu.

FYI I've been here like 40 times...but usually out of convenience and I feel like my body needs healthy food when I've been stressed and I'm on my lunch break so I'll just hit up prasad... Firstly, I think that they are way overpriced. Yes, it is organic and I totally appreciate that, but you can save yourself soooo much money by buying a vitamix at home and making these smoothies yourself, and also making beans and rice at home with kale at home! I think they have really good smoothies and juices that are different flavors I never thought of putting together...so I think that's cool. But seriously, save yourself money and eat at home. Their sauces are great (my favorite is the lemon ginger)..but I just bought myself some organic lemons and ginger from trader joes so I can start making this stuff at home!!! Also, I agree with some of the other posts... when you come in here, you KNOW you're in Portland. Everyone is literally a "health freak" and I totally get and understand that cause I'm also anti-GMO/pesticides and I think that eating way more vegetables is great for your body, but I also eat meat, and I do eat cookies and donuts from time to time. I've heard a lot of conversations while eating in here by myself that were pretty funny and very Portland. One time, there were these young teenage girls and one of them said "yeah, I can't believe that I used to eat sugar!!" and another woman at another table told another woman, "yeah, every friday they bring in junk food...you know, cookies, bread, and chips... it is SO, SO, SAD." and the other woman responded "oh my gosh I am so sorry." in a serious tone. YES, those things are bad for you, but seriuosly, if that is the basis of every conversation, I think that you need to wake up and realize that there are much larger issues and horrible things happening in our neighborhoods and world. geez. hahahaha gosh #1st world problems

Remember it's inside Yoga Pearl! The staff is incredibly nice and the food is always fresh, delicious, and well prepared. The smoothies (my usual is the stumblebee) are great. I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Yam rice...yum! They have a lot of good options for vegan food. All of it is tasty. That is a liability. Being a vegan and gluten free and not a carbatarian (meaning I just eat potatoes and rice to make up for what I am not eating), it's rough to find a place to eat. Prasad knocks it out the court every time. Only downfall is seating, there isn't much of it so finding a place, much less with friends can be rough going.

I love the food, but if I was rating the service I'd give it 2 stars. I'm so disappointed by the way I was treated today. Halfway through my meal I ran out of salad dressing. I went up to the front and they asked me to go back to the back of the line behind 10 people. I guess a $0.50 dressing is something I expect to be able to order partway through my meal without having to stand in line again...but the worst part was the way the kitchen person with 3 tickets hanging up was so stressed out and snapping at me. I tried to get the attention of the server 3 times and she ignored me each time. I appreciate good customer service. It's one of the guiding principles that gets me hooked on a restaurant. But here, it is simply the quality of the food that keeps me coming back, not the customer service. The guy who rang me up was brand new and was rather nice. One can cross their fingers and hope he doesn't get jaded like the rest of them.

This place has awesome vegan/organic food options that are super tasty. I think of it as the Blossoming Lotus of the west side (well, at least I do). They're connected to yoga pearl and have a variety of juices, wraps, salads, etc. Their service isn't super friendly - when I tried to order a wrap i was told somewhat snidely that i could go pick one up from the fridge to my left (it was my first time there, how was I supposed to know?) - that being said, the wrap WAS delicious and I've heard rave reviews from my coworkers about many of their bowls. They're close to my office so despite the iffy service, I'll be back! They also have a few outdoor benches for sitting in the sun on a nice day, always a plus in my book!

This review is based on the recent customer service experience I had at Prasad. Goes to show how one screw up can affect how one views a place of business. Let me start by saying the endless summer dish I had tonight was AWESOME! From a food stand point, Prasad rocks the globe. From a customer service stand point...not so much. I had just finished my dinner and walked in to the restaurant from my outside table. There were no customers inside but the kitchen and counter area were a bustle with employees. I looked in the cooler of things that are already prepared and located just what I wanted, a vegan/raw cheesecake made with all sorts of FABULOUS things I can totally eat while on my cleanse. I was super excited so I took it to the counter to purchase it...mind you this is an item that was already prepared. It was in a to go container. It was also $8 which is a bit steep for a small slice of cheese cake but I was happy to pay it as it looked FABULOUS! I was then informed that they were closed. I proceeded to explain that it was already packaged to go and that I would be paying with CA$H money...that's right dolla' dolla bills y'all! They said they would not sell it to me. That the cash drawer was already off in the back somewhere being counted. This seemed like such a strange thing to tell a customer. I was paying with cash and it was already packaged and ready to go. There were like 5 people behind the counter busily working, I'm sure to get out of there but my transaction would not have stopped them from leaving. It wouldn't have dirtied another dish and of they would have made an exception, they would have made ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER. The way they handled it left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. Karen lost an $8 sale and you better believe I will be telling people about it. It's like a disconnect of why they are there. It's obvious to me the people working there are only there to punch in, punch out and get a paycheck. They have no interest in providing their potential customers with a positive experience. Here is what I would have done; I would have said "you are paying with cash? No problem. That will be $8. Here you go, have a nice night and I hope to see you again soon!" Then I would have put the money in an envelope or something of the like with a note explaining what had happened. What manager or owner would be mad at having sold an $8 piece of cheese cake 2 minutes after the restaurant had closed? NOT THIS BUSINESS OWNER! If I found out that one of my employees had behaved the way they did tonight, I would take it as a serious coaching opportunity. Now, sadly, I will never know what that cheese cake would have tasted like. You better believe as soon as I am done with this review I am going to be googling a recipe for raw/vegan cheesecake :-)

I will start by raving uncontrollably about all manners of healthy living. We were brought to this planet by a force beyond our knowledgable sphere in order that we might all better enjoy its blessings while respecting its wise old costs. I try to honor this tradition in all ways. When I don't, I take each minute out a little bit of its subsequent husk and reinvent it as a problem to be solved. Constructively. Fluidly. With eyes ablaze. That's how you drop those extra pounds and end up in the place to be. Enter Prasad, Portland's most eligible place to get your teeth scrubbed by a foreign substance. Although it does not have a clear entrance--that is, unless your cup of fun is wandering through a yoga studio first and being made to feel awful about at least some of your lifestyle choices. For health is a full-time commitment and to embrace it at the expense of all else is to deny one's self the joy of living, which is to say, a mitigated form of death. What I really mean here is that to live is to die and to waste away is to see how time marches on and makes us all grow with it. Bitch. I had verily enjoyed this local spot until recently, when in one swift episode I was lead to believe that nobody there cared about me or my responsibility to myself. I attempted to order a ghastly amount of healthy liquids for myself and my compadres. Sidenote: This place is expensive if worth it. Anyway, I was informed after placing this order and completing my credit card transaction that I could not in fact take one of these liquids off the premises. That struck me as odd and I am a wuss, so I defensively, sadly stated that I was only asking because some was brought to me off the premises the day before. I was told an exception would be made. I said fine, thanks. I sat down and waited on my fate. Then, another person came up and informed me that I was out of the box and out of line and that in the future, she was hoping "we could all respect the policy." Then I got annoyed. Then it was time for me to leave. I had approximately 6 plastic containers to transport. These were placed on a counter dismissively and my false name called. "Can I get something to carry these in?" "I'm sorry, we're out of drink containers." "Okay. How am I supposed to get these out of here?" "[Sigh] Hold on, I'll check if we have any in the back" "[returning] Sorry, we don't." "Can I have a bag or something?" [aggrieved pause] "Oh, here's a bag." It was right in front of her. And I had to yank it out of them. Good thing the drinks are so good that this has only bothered me so much. Here is what I really want to say: This shit was not right. It was bad customer service and flat-out unpleasant to be around. I have never had an issue with this place before and plan to return again on many occasions. And I hope that, in the event that any employees read this review, they can take it in stride--or better yet, think hard about it--and keep it from affecting their perception of me as a customer. I want us all to grow together. I want the pieces to fit. I don't want this to be regarded as SHOTS FIRED. This is a very excited customer reeling in the muck of extreme disappointment. Next time it will be better. I am sure. But there is a price to pay. And if I have to pay a price for thinking that paying a price is part of the price of admission for things contradicting other things and moving together through history in a dialectically advanced manner, then so be it. That's why I chose this field. LOTS OF STARS ANYWAY SO STFU

After deciding I wanted a healthy dinner while on a recent biz trip to Portland, I decided to take a nice evening walk to Prasad for takeout. I arrived around 7 and found the place with a nice flow of traffic, but not overly busy. After a short wait in line, I placed my order from the vast menu. I settled on the chili bowl, using quinoa as the base, and got a Rita green juice as my beverage of choice. Everything was packaged to go, but they don't offer bags, so best to bring your own. After getting back to my hotel, I was able to enjoy this great meal after being tempted by the smell during my walk back. The chili bowl had a great mix of flavors and textures, from the vegan chili to the garlic tahini, and a good assortment of veggies. It was a filling and satisfying meal for this non-vegan. The rita didn't have as much flavor as I expected--I make green juices at home, so fairly familiar with what to expect. But I'd definitely try another freshly pressed juice on a future visit.

Wonderful little spot in the Pearl District! The restaurant is situated in a place where yoga sessions / classes are held. It's a quaint place to grab a meal and unwind. The food is oh so fresh, and the staff is ever so warm and friendy. Do give the Dragon Bowl a try - it's hearty and delicious!

Great vegan food and smoothies. Nice setting. But the service......wow......the gal who took our order was outright rude and hostile. The other servers who delivered our meals or with whom we placed a cofee order were just condescending or indifferent. I'd come back in a heartbeat for the food, but the service will keep me away.

Healthy bowls of food AND kombucha AND yoga. Can I ask for anything else really? Oh also a cute shop with yoga gear and clothes and jewelry. This place is great. Good for a hang in your computer too.

  • D J.

I wasn't hipster, tree hugger, artsy enough to blend into the Pearl District, but the vibe and vegetarian options at Prasad - totally worth the wandering about on the streets of Davis! Quinoa never tasted so good - the chili bowl with quinoa drenched in chili, avocado, cilantro and kale was healthy, hearty and delicious. I was afterall in a yoga studio, so had to strike the balance of pairing spicy food with a "shanti" drink of apple, mint, celery and cucumber - green and great! The space is tight, especially during the packed lunch hour but service is efficient and they somehow manage to find you amongst the hoardes of people waiting! Harder to find them tucked inside the interior of what is essentially a yoga studio doubling up as a cafe. Not exactly cheap, but the offering is worth every penny. The taste of Portland and Prasad was pretty darn good - maybe it's time to pick up a pair of ripped jeans and complete the Pacific NW look!

Fresh veggies. Refreshing meal. Come hungry and you'll leave full. First time I went I did a smoothie and a 'pasta' and that was a bit much for me. The Dragon bowl is a fail safe but I really like what they do with their 'pasta'! Really friendly staff too.

  • Bridget K.

Went here because it was close to a conference venue. Went back the next day because it was Just. That. Delicious. I am still thinking about their breakfast bowl, and I'd never considered eating rice & beans for breakfast before. I thought the yoga studio thing would be weird, but the space is really well laid out so it doesn't seem weird, just cool. I've seen faster service but really, it's not "fast food" so don't expect that. It doesn't take so long that you wonder if they are growing the spinach from seed or whatever. Yum. I want an excuse to fly to Portland soon so I can try the smoothies! My colleagues were raving over them.

  • Matt L.

I'm a pretty strict omnivore, so I'm guessing I'm not necessarily Prasad's target audience - that said, good food is good food, and I know you don't need meat or cheese or any of the other myriad animal-related products to make a meal delicious. So I've stopped by for a quick lunch here and there - and each time, that's exactly what I got. Despite what sometimes appears to be a foreboding line to the counter, food comes out pretty quick - a big bowl full of nicely cooked up plants, topped with delicious plant sauce. I'll probably stop by again and try a wrap or two sometime in the future, and I saw some sort of tasty looking noodle dish float past me en route to someone else's table, and I'm probably going to have to get some of whatever that was as well.

Simple, nutritious goodness in a bowl. Great vegan bowls and fresh juice offerings makes a perfect healthy, clean, nourishing meal after yoga or anytime! Only if I lived locally, I would definitely visit more frequently. Another gem in Portland.

The best Vegan restaurant in Portland for sure. Can't wait for their sister restaurant to open as the location will be fantastic. I love so many things here, the bowls, Salads, the chili, and so much more.

So fresh and so clean! I love this little zen nook. The guy taking my order was peeling carrots before he helped me. The girl making my drink was preparing some ginger. I love it this fresh! I needed a juice to give me some energy until dinner time....this is just the spot that hits the spot. Actually I think I'll have lunch here tomorrow. Yep, had lunch here! It was just as awesome! Kali bowl...kale, curry vegetables and quinoa. SO much flavor. Maybe I'll go for dinner too!

Love this place! The yoga atmosphere can be a little awkward (do I need to take off my shoes to go to the bathroom?! Can I talk to my dining partner or do I have to whisper?) but the food knocks it out of the park. I was really impressed with the staff - very gregarious and not in a looking-for-a-larger-tip way. They were HAPPY people working in the service industry. Whaaat? No attitude? Love it. Lunch hour tends to wipe them out of wraps, but I'm a fan of the bowls anyway. It's like Cafe Yum after a moral conversion. I'm going to print out their menu and try and re-create everything at home. Recommend: stumblebee smoothie and chili bowl!

I recently relocated from LA, found this lovely little place in Pearl District. I ordered a beet juice- brut and a chili bowl, my husband got the retrospection smoothie and a brahma bowl. We both loved the juice and smoothie. The bowls were definitely good but not great.. A little bland, mine was also a little "watery". Overall a good place, cozy, relaxing and quite. Will be back for juices and smoothies!

I've been here once and had a great experience. Then night before I had visited their sister restaurant Harlow, so had similar expectations of awesome. Did not disappoint! I felt as though Harlow was very formal and sophisticated, whereas Prasad feels much more laid back. Like, Harlow is the big older sister that you admire for her style and flair, whilst Prasad is the sibling who is a secretly works hard to ace her tests in school and but is super fun to be around and not at all studious or condescending... (Make sense?) I love the adjacent yoga studio to is place as well as the large windows that make the space feel so bright and peaceful. A very indoor-outdoor feel. I had a delicious takeaway salad with a tahini/ginger/lemon dressing that the lady behind the counter recommended and I loved. Felt super nourished. Hope to return in the future!

  • Sam B.

I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but the bowls sounded tasty and it was packed, so I gave it a shot. The upshot was the amount of protein and the yoga studio did not smell like dirty feet. The price was high in my opinion and I didn't find it very flavorful, which I gather is normal for vegan food. But I don't know and I don't want to be unfair. Suffice it to say, if you're a part-time vegetarian like me, this may not satisfy your tastbuds- but it will fill you up if you finish it. If you're vegan, it's probably awesome.

The healthy, all-natural food movement has been going strong in Portland for longer than in most places and I love that I can easily find raw, vegan, gluten-free -- you name it -- almost anytime I feel like it. Prasad took over the previous Blossoming Lotus location in the Yoga Pearl, but offers even more variety in terms of teas, smoothies and good eats. I stopped in for a Wallflower smoothie with the housemade almond-hemp milk, hubby had the Popeye (of course) and my sister had the Warrior. One of the most difficult meals (in my opinion) to offer to the organic crowd is breakfast, and Prasad does a good job with gluten-free toast, parfaits made with vanilla cashew cream (yum!), gluten-free oats (also used in their granola), and scrambles with tempeh. I didn't have a chance to take a yoga class at the studio this time, but if I lived in downtown Portland I probably would be spending a good 3 hours a day here!

This restaurant doesn't hold a candle to its sister restaurant, Harlow on Hawthorne. Unfortunately, I've now had 4 bad experiences at Prasad. Yesterday I got the Kali bowl to go - when I got home, it was a pile of kale and quinoa with 4 small slices of sweet potato in it. That was it. No sauce, no curry - nothing! Basically, I could have made a pile of kale and quinoa for a buck. This isn't the first time this has happened. I ordered a bowl another time and got a pile of rice and kale, no ginger sauce as requested, rice instead of quinoa, no seaweed. On another occasion I got tempeh to go, got it home and it was burnt to the point of being inedible. It's too bad because the food has the potential to be top notch. I find it to be a complete rip off, the staff is indifferent, bordering on rude and food is subpar. Unlike Harlow - which I've never once had anything but excellent food and super friendly staff.

We went here for a healthy vegan lunch based on the reviews here. I didn't actually know it was attached to a yoga studio. I'm surprised Vancouver, Canada doesn't have places like this. So many yoga studios and no healthy food beside it. It wasn't very busy when we first arrived so we could get a table, but it proceeded to become packed with people waiting in line to get food and eat. My husband order the dragon bowl with red rice and peanut sauce and he was delivered an urban bowl (which is a large salad) instead. He was very confused and started looking for the rice under all the lettuce. Then I told him I think they got his order wrong. He went back to return it and they seemed confused, but apologized. Then they brought out a dragon bowl with quinoa and peanut sauce and he decided he was hungry and to just shut up and eat it. I ordered the maya bowl with red rice (I love making red rice at home) and enjoyed the flavour of the French lentils and the spiced apple sauce. I really think this is a much better dish than the dragon bowl because it has more flavour and not just plain pinto beans like in the dragon bowl. Plain pinto beans are so boring. My only complaint was I kept biting down on rock hard dry or undercooked rice. It was all throughout the rice and it was getting stuck in my teeth and worrying me I might break a crown chewing it. They really need to be more careful and cook the rice and not mix in rock hard rice with it, it's unpleasant to eat. I also got a celery, apple beet juice. It was good, mostly celery tasting, but there was so much foam. I would appreciate if juice bars didn't serve you juice with the foam. You can get a plastic pitcher that skims off the top foam and keeps it in the jug to prevent it from being poured into the glass. No one likes foam. I took off a few stars for the mix ups, the crunchy rice and the blandness of the dragon bowl. We eat macrobiotic quite often and enjoy it, but the sauces here are very watery and bitter and not that nice. If there was more on the menu that I would think I would like I might come back, but I think I got the best they have to offer. Don't get me started on the raw food, I am also a low fat raw food chef and refuse to eat such heavy nut+oil+avocado laden dishes as they make me feel ill, so I prefer to opt for a low fat steamed veggie bowl instead.

It wouldn't be fair to compare Prasad to Blossoming Lotus, the former occupant of this unique Pearl District yoga-studio space, so I'm going to try to avoid doing so. That said, a lot of things about the menu reminded me of some sort of bizzarro version of BL: Vegan, healthy, dominated by grains, bowls, wraps, and salads... it was pretty much a parallel universe throwback to the days of yore, but with better service and different flavors. The menu is pretty much salads, greens, and noodles, a few rice/quinoa bowls, and some pre-made wraps (made with either wheat tortillas or collared greens. Since BL was first on the scene in Portland with the live wraps in collared greens and similar, I guess it is somewhat fair to compare... or it would be if I ate that. What I tried was the Dragon bowl, a quinoa/kale/sea-vegetable/avocado bowl with lentils and some sauces (I got green chile and tahini and mixed the two). It reminded me a lot of what is becoming a fairly standard vegan bowl in Portland - gains, legumes, healthy greens, and some good fats (in the form of Tahini). It was hearty, tasty, and über healthy - just as should be expected in a Yoga studio. For $8, and served up with a decent amount of haste, it was cheaper and faster than the former BL version as well. The main changes to the space are new tables and bench-chairs made from beautiful (and what looks to be salvaged) wood. They're a nice addition to the space, and it really classes things up a bit. The service is still counter-style, with delivery to table, so it's sort of like a cafeteria, in some respects. Overall, I dig. I'm glad that something comparable has made it into the space, as I was mourning the loss of ultra healthy and delicious food in this area (but I wasn't missing the on-again, off-again service from BL). I look forward to trying more of the menu. This is the kind of Vegan food I could eat often.

If I lived nearby, I would be eating here every day! But I live 5 hours away and just have to wait till we go on another road trip to eat here again. I really REALLY wish they had a Prasad in Seattle!

After eating here three times, and trying several other Vegan places in town, this is the best! How about Prasad II in NE PDX. That would be a dream. I love mostly Raw food and this place has such a variety of dishes to choose from, and everything I've tried is amazing.

get one of their bowls! huge bowl filled with quinoa or rice, kale, and other veges! dragon bowl with quinoa had half an avocado, boiled kale, black beans, cabbage, sea vegetables and comes with 2 sauces of your choice (I had the jalapeno cashew cheese and lemon ginger). portions are definitely huge! but i love eating out from big bowls!! mix it all up or eat each item individually. chile bowl was yums. chile was mildly spicy with quinoa, avocado, and kale. simple yet delicious. raw soup of the day was spiced zucchini which had a strong coconut-y flavor and was delicious. served warm. options of a cup or bowl. super green lemonade was delicious!!!!! kale, cucumber, and other green vege juice mixed with lemonade! arnold palmer gone crazy and healthy!! caffeine free too. Prasad is a tiny cafe right next to a yoga place...healthy as it can get!

Well sure there are "insufferable white people about talking about their graduate programs and self-discovery trips to India" etc.,... but it does sort of go with the territory (i.e., Pearl w/yoga shop). So, going to go strictly on the service and the food, I loved it. Friendly service, fresh, well made, evenly spiced (I would like spice options available, maybe they had them and I didn't notice). Overall, 5 stars for quickness, convenience and everything being as presented and described... that's all I really ask.

Lets say you just finished a bomb session of weights or yoga in the Pearl: you killed your quads, pushed your pecs, and smashed your sartorious...you're starved but you want something fresh, flavorful, filling, with plenty of protein and vitamins. Where to go?? Take a jog down to Prasad, get a gaucho burrito, filled with jack cheese, beans, avacado, spiced tempeh, spinach, and more.... It's made with the most local and organic stuff they can find, and despite being vegetarian, it's full of flavor and balanced protein. Admittedly, at ~$8, it's spendier than your $5 cart burrito that's probably twice the mass and 3 times the calories, but that's the price you pay for quality, not quantity! I've only had one other of their bowls (the Dragon Bowl was GREAT!) and burritos, but again, they were delicious and the staff has always been super friendly and helpful!

After taking over the already great Blossoming Lotus and Yoga Pearl space, the new incarnation of yoga and healthy food has risen like a Phoenix. Still amazing healthy delicious food, but now it's coupled with better than ever service. People who actually seem happy serving you healthy food. What a great spot!

I'll let y'all in on a little secret...I was a vegetarian in a former life, some five years ago or so. But behold the call of the chicken parmigiana, and I wavered forever. While on my recent trip to the PDX, my companion and I explored and wandered and hiked our way through Oregon. Feeling a healthy kick in full swing, we were jonsing for a vegetarian, all natural lunch to quench our cravings. And thanks to Yelp, we found ourselves here based on the numerous positive reviews. Prasad is part yoga studio part restaurant. So you can nourish your body from the inside out. We ordered a smoothie, a green jasmine iced tea, the zucchini "spaghetti" and vegan chili bowl. Much of the food is raw vegan fare, so if you're not familiar with the raw scene, it means uncooked. Let's start with the negatives- the iced tea. It was just plain disgusting. In an, " If I paid you $200 to chug this right now..." you'd be keeping your money. Stick to the water. Also, the smoothie was just okay, nothing amazing, I've made better with my blender at home, and at about $7, I'd say it was overpriced. However, we both loved our actual meal. The zucchini spaghetti was great, very flavorful, and had a lot of interesting textures. I liked the cashew cheese a lot as well, pretty similar to ricotta. The portions were generous, one meal coud be stretched to two (for me at least) or a meal and a snack. The chili was also tasty and served with quinoa which is fast becoming a new favorite staple in my diet. If I lived here, I'd be making a visit pretty often, and probably taking yoga here as well. They offer some cool classes, vinyasa I happen to love- if I had more time I probably would have checked it out as I was on a serious bikram kick this summer. But that's a whole other story. If you're a meat eater, fear not the vegan way, as you can certainly find something to satiate your palate here. Namaste!

One-of-a-kind place. Must visit for a different experience. Food - 4/5. Healthy, delicious, light, decent variety, fresh, vegetarian. Try the dragon or brahma bowl. Drinks - 5/5. Spoilt with abundant choices of teas and tasty veggie juices. Amazing juices! Try the viper if you like a spicy juice. Ambience - 5/5. Unique, neat, calm, appealing. Staff - 5/5. Very friendly.

Service has improved a lot. However they seem to have changed a few of the recipes, including a very (unfortunately) different zucchini pasta salad . I'd also like them to offer smaller sizes in the juices - They're so good but I'm not ordering them anymore because they come in huge glasses . Appreciate that they're in the Chinook Book, and overall I still love this place :)

The food is good here but I wished their wait staff was bit better trained. Bringing a smoothie to me with your hand around the top edge, ugh! I know they were busy when we showed up at just after 5pm but it was a bit disconcerting to be handed an ingredients book to double-check for allergies. It didn't include some of the daily specials which I had hoped to try but didn't. We ate outside simply because the inside tables were either occupied or hadn't been bussed. We both felt they were very understaffed the night we were there. While we can appreciate that space is tight and pricy in the Pearl, it was a bit disconcerting after a long day of sightseeing to have to sit down and to take off shoes to go to the bathroom. We hope on our next visit to Portland that they will have moved into a larger, more restaurant oriented location.

This place was surprisingly awesome. I had my doubts though someone recommended highly. I had a scramble that had flavorful tempeh and quinoa and avocado. It was very filling. Others in the group had the rogue oatmeal and it looked fantastic. I also had a mocha which was spicy! Tasty but unexpected. Very filling, tasty and I totally would come back! They only have 3 burners so if you are coming as a group stagger your arrivals. We had 11 ladies for the 2014 Monitorama conference join here and it worked out because we came at varied times across an hour.

Great Vegan place! We tried it for the first time tonight and we're fascinated by the quality and many awesome choices! We will go back for sure! The only thing that bothered us was the person who prepared salads/ bowls didn't wear any gloves. I saw him taking his shoes off going to the bathroom and putting them back on after and it seemed that he didn't wash his hands right after. I might be wrong. But anyways, that was the only thing. 3 stars for that. Otherwise 5 stars!

Compared to your typical Portlandia denizen, I'm a bit of an odd cookie: I don't have a tat of "organix or DETH" I'm not a level 60 localvore I'm a staunch omnivore (like ravens, which control our government and bears which are about to stage a revolution against them) I've never done yoga (I am extremely narrow-minded about it, but awareness is the first step to ACCEPTANCE) I do really love vegetables though; this is a big accomplishment for me because, as a youngster, I shunned them, shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnNNNnnn. This is probably the "healthiest" food you can eat out at any place in Portland (that I've been). Not because I think vegan/vegetarian/etc is a healthier lifestyle...just that most people (including myself) don't get enough ROUGHAGE. So, I got a roasted veggie bowl here. It was really good, but I wish the portion wasn't as modest. It just didn't seem like much food for $8.50. Having said that, I'll definitely be back...I think my chard was singing to me. Also: I always thought the Portland Fox was extinct, but apparently they've been making their dens in yoga studios all these years.

I'm not sure but it definitely seemed like my smoothie was made with frozen fruits. It was good but not a LOT better than Jamba and not enough to warrant the $9 price tag. Maybe it was the homemade hemp almond milk that cost a lot? The dragon bowl was good though I've had similar macrobiotic, vegan, gluten free bowls in LA that are better tasting.

I just moved here from Chicago and was looking to find healthy, delicious, unique places to go to on my lunch breaks. Prasad is everything I could ever want in a lunch spot. In my first week of work I think I went to Prasad 3/5 days. It's that good. I always get either The Endless Summer salad (zucchini noodles in a cucumber avocado sauce) or the Brahma Bowl. There is such a wide variety of options here for any dietary need - everything is gluten free, lots of raw options. Everything is so tasty and refreshing. I am looking forward to exploring more and more of their amazing dishes!

I love Prasad. I'm neither vegan, nor vegetarian, but I love the food I get at Prasad. (My favorite is the Shiva Salad) They have made so many tasty, creative dishes out of things I would never dream. I have made it a regular lunch stop whenever I am in Portland.

WowZA Yummy vegan breakfast! So I indulged in the :CHIPOTLE TEMPEH SCRAMBLE (with black beans, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, carrots, zucchini and avocado, served with green chili sauce, rice and toast) and the mouth watering PRASAD LATTE ( a double shot of cold-processed, organic Stumptown coffee steamed with almond-hemp milk with housemade vanilla syrup). Not being from the Northwest, I thought it would be nice to sit outside.... only I sat down in a nice rain soaked chair because I never thought to check for dampness. Despite my wet ass, I still enjoyed this amAZing meal outdoors which proved to be quite enjoyable since there was some good people watching. I felt healthier all day with this kick start godly breakfast. Seriously, Portland the availability of vegan/veggie friendliness somehow needs to transport itself into the MidWest. Chi town has much to learn. * Just a tip, you do enter through the yoga studio to access this god-like healthy place..

I never write reviews. EVER. Prasad is so fantastic that I absolutely had to spread the word. IT. IS. SO. DAMN. GOOD. Seriously. I am obsessed with this place. I have been coming here since they first opened. Then, a horrible thing happened. I went to grad school. Grad school across the country, mind you. I missed Prasad so dearly... I dreamt of cashew cream parfaits and their delicious variety of raw dishes. Every time I came to town for the Portland marathon, I visited Prasad, oh, say, two or three times a day. Or four. Who's counting? The point is, I love them. True love. And we all know true love last a life time. Fortunately, I have returned to the Pacific Northwest and I have reunited with the glorious glory parfait. Absolutely delicious!

I could never have imagined that vegan food could be so good. The salads were awesome but their experimental chai was nothing special. The bowls for $8 I couldn't finish it and I'm a pretty big guy!! also it was packed with attractive women, a rarity in Portland.

Hooray for another delicious veggie oasis in Portland! Order: Kali bowl, El Dorado Salad, Alberta Street Chai Pros: Fast and friendly service, nice relaxing atmosphere, and decent sized portions. The food is seriously tasty! The meals are spiced just right, the veggies are fresh, and the flavor combinations are well rounded. The Kali was creamy and savory, with a smattering of surprising bites of mango sweetness. As for the salad, the cashew cream cheese, walnut crumbles, yam rice and red chili vinaigrette made for a dish bursting with flavor. The chai was on the spicy side, and was served in a pint glass, which is very unusual for a hot drink. (And very appreciated on a cold and rainy day!) Cons: Limited seating. Food and drinks are on the pricey side...there is a giant selection of smoothies, but we haven't tried them yet since they run between $5-$8. Also, you have to take off your shoes to use the bathroom..? Overall: It's probably a good thing the meals are a bit more expensive, or I'd be eating here every week!

The Utopian Dream Pasta was sold out so I got the Shiva Salad instead and Iced Ginger Lemonade. I'm not a big ginger fan but I appreciated that it wasn't too (artificially) sweet and you really got a kick from that fresh ginger. I loved the salad. I didn't miss the meat at all. Overall, delicious, guilt -free eats!

After our adventure in watching a parade, Chinatown and an arcade, we decided to get lunch. Our group was starving. I wanted something a bit light and so we decided to go for vegetarian/vegan. Our friend "guided" us to the restaurant. Well that didn't end up so well as we ended up walking up and down the streets but eventually we found the place. It's in a nice little building with seating outside that opens into the restaurant. A bit hipster/health conscious place. We went in and grabbed a menu. I looked at the menu and there were pretty awesome selection of smoothies but I didn't get any (although thinking back now I should have tried something good). I decided to go with the Dragon Bowl. It was a very pretty bowl (look at my picture) and colors well put together. The Dragon Bowl had a choice of either rice or quinoa (I chose quinoa but maybe rice would have been better), beans (Portlandia skit... if you've seen), sea vegetables, avocado (yum), steamed greens, hemp seeds, scallions and I chose a garlic tahini sauce (finger licking good!). The bowl it self was actually really good besides the quinoa but that's just my opinion. I think I would have liked it with rice. Quinoa didn't add much to the bowl for me. As for the veggies, they were nice and hot. It was a strange hot day in Portland that day and we decided to eat out on the benches so a hot bowl of food on a hot day in the sun was interesting. The avocado helped put everything together and added a creamy element. The garlic tahini sauce was definitely delicious and one of the key ingredient stars of the bowl. I really liked the sea veggies. They added a nice bite and texture. One of my complaints is that over time, the textures of the whole bowl just kind of ....became a bit monotonous and everything was a bit squishy. Also tried my partner's bowl's sauce which was carrot habanero... I didn't like it. Way too much carrot for me. Maybe a bit more salt and spice added to the veggies could have enhanced them a bit. The Dragon bowl was a big bowl, which is a plus. I think it could have used more garlic tahini sauce but an extra sauce would cost an additional $. Water is free and available. People can chill and eat on the benches outside. They'll bring your food out for you. Dogs can also be tied on a leash outside. Also, you clean your own tables after eating so don't forget to do that. Workers here are nice. Overall it was a good meal. If I do come to Portland again, I'd come back here to eat again.

After two days of indulging in donuts, coffee, and beer on my vacation... I was really craving for some veggies and fiber. That's when I stumbled upon Prasad! My bf and I split the Dragon Bowl and it was so good that we both want to recreate it at home. I also recommend the lemon-ginger dressing. Healthy, affordable, and yummy!

If I lived in Portland, this place would be a staple. I had the Buddha bowl, and it was tasty, filling but not overwhelming, and I felt great afterward. My husband had the black bean chili, which packed a kick and would be perfect for a chilly day. I'd like to try everything on the menu and a yoga it meditation class as an appetizer.

If you've seen the raw diet farting episode of Portlandia, then you already know about Prasad. Pretty sure the episode is based on their earthy menu of raw veggie bowls and fresh-pressed juices. Since I've got no problem with "cleansing my system", Prasad was the perfect antidote to a weekend of over-indulgence in Portland. You feel healthier just stepping inside and feeling the good vibes. It's located inside Yoga Pearl, but has a substantial area that feels like it's own little café. You order at the counter, then grab a seat in the light-filled dining area with communal tables, bar seats, and little 2-tops. The virtuous menu features mostly healthy "bowls" with brown rice, quinoa, tons of steamed veggies and vegan sauces. They are DELISH. Even my stubborn carnivore husband happily scarfed down every last bite. There's also local kombucha, green juices, tea, and vegan desserts on offer. For $8-12 you can fill yourself with health and make up for all the donuts, fried chicken and martinis you'll likely consume the rest of the time in Portland (if you've got restraint as weak as mine). After a class at Yoga Pearl, or after one too many toxins, Prasad is the perfect way to stay on the healthy train... or hop on it for a few hours. THANK YOU Prasad for making good-for-you taste so darn good.

Downtowns mix of tourist trap high calorie slop finds reprieve in this peaceful yoga studio counter cafe with its big windows, small wood tables, clean vegan bowls and swift expedient service. I chose the dragon bowl $10 with black quinoa, kale, a whole fresh avocado on top and two sauces, carrot habanero and green chili. Ingredients were fresh and well prepared highlighting their good simplicity. Often you can sense the mood of the chef through a dishes taste, and in this case it was a serendipitous whole joy without lies. This is the way Americans should eat more frequently - vegetables with healthy fat and grains. No fillers here. The dining room was a nutty mix of knowingly perfect pretty young women, quirky Portland seniors, and brutish muscle men. Everyone will allow you to nutrient up in peace, as the realistically happy plump rock a billy babe cashier commented after my payment "enjoy your health." The cafe sits in and feels like a lobby, which it is, so it has a transitory temporary feel, where well manicured ladies will be waiting around with yoga matts for their next session.

Nestled inside a yoga studio, I went to this healthy haven twice during my trip in Portland. I got the Dragon bowl with lemon ginger vinaigrette both times, which was 100% perfection! Simply prepared, the bowl contains pinto beans, quinoa (or rice), steamed kale, avocado, a mixture of seeds, scallions, kimchi, and picked vegetables. It looks like a work of art and it tastes stellar! Plus, I felt so good about myself afterwards. It was simply and beautifully prepared, all ingredients to do a body good, and when combined, equaled a delicious, nourishing lunch or dinner. The only thing I did not like was the ginger lemon iced drink that they had available in the to-go case. Warning: must LOVE ginger! I could not drink it, because it was so spicy. It was burning my throat. However, still loved the bowl so much and came back again. I wish I could make this at home!

We could not have picked a better spot for lunch. 9,50 for a nice sized and very tasty vegan meal with lots of heatlhy things in it. An OK atmosphere, it is located by a yoga studio. They have a great menu and we will come back to try the other options!

I ordered the "Little Dragon Bowl" for my very broad-minded 7-year-old daughter, who explored her supper for a few minutes, trying all of the different components, then stated: "I hate this restaurant." I was puzzled, because I don't think I've heard her utter the word "hate" before, except when she once proclaimed, "I hate war." In describing my feelings about this restaurant, however, I would not have been so charitable. The food at this place is insipid. The "kimchi" is an insult to the entire history of Korean culture; it is shredded red cabbage utterly lacking in fermentation and devoid of any meaningful chili pepper or garlic. It is cardboard splattered with red nail polish, I think, but not quite as digestible. The brown lentils were boiled in a vacuum -- no seasoning, no spice. Even the earthy lentil character seemed to have evaporated from the weeping little beans. The service was as pleasant as a drive-by shooting. It's a bit of a blur, but my best recollection is that a member of the Manson Family served us -- and by "served," I mean she threw our bowls at us, spat on our table, farted a hymn to Satan, then skulked away while giving us the finger and laughing triumphantly. If it wasn't exactly that, it was really close. Across the street from Prasad is a Mexican restaurant which has a massive range of Vegan options, some quite excellent. In fact, on this, my maiden journey to Portland, I found several very close-by restaurants with delicious vegan options. Prasad is NOT worthy of your time or money.

I'm so happy I came to Prasad, where it's half yoga and spa, half Vegan eatery. There is a tranquil feeling when you walk in that definitely resonated with me. It was also nice to see the workers bringing in fresh, organic produce in the box, to the kitchen. It's very small, so you can see into the kitchen and they encourage you to keep your voice low since services and classes are going on. Everything on the menu is 100% gluten free. I ordered the smokey Tempeh Scramble and absolutely loved it! I washed it down (ok, I drank it before eating...don't drink and eat, kids) with a delicious Melody green juice. If you're looking for a fresh, delicious, plentiful, and healthy option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you will find it at Prasad. You can also eat outside and explore the other lovely shops that are situated in the heart of the Portland scene. The best part of Prasad is that it has fresh Vegan options that do not compromise on taste. They also have a wide selection of juices, smoothies, soups, salads, bowls, and coffee drinks. It's hard to believe such a small place can cover so much of the spectrum so brilliantly. I will say, the service was ok and the people working the counters were not the friendliest, but I would definitely come here again when I'm in town.

I used to live in the area but never had anything to eat at Prasad. I had lunch there today and it was pretty tasty. Enjoyed the juice very much. If you want a healthy bowl filled with delicious and good for you things, it's a great place for all of that. If I worked nearby, it would be one of my go to lunch places. Nearby Powells, Ben and Jerry's and other great shops.

What I ate: Mighty bowl, iced chai Visit date: October 2, 2014 First time? Yes. The last time I was in Portland I had stopped by Prasad to check out their menu. You see, my tummy was already full, and our travel schedule already packed, so we couldn't dine here on that trip. I made sure to bookmark it, though, because I knew I'd be back someday. Three years later I'm happy to report that I finally made it in for a meal! It was worth the wait! Today I had the Mighty Bowl. It was so simple, yet so amazing. Quinoa (I wanted rice but they had just run out -- I got there close to closing), lentils, and perfectly blanched kale with my choice of sauce. I chose the jalapeño cashew cheese; I chose wisely. The sauce is what makes the dish come together. And their cashew cheese is the best I've ever had. It was silky smooth and you can really taste the jalapeño in the pepper sense (not the spice sense). I also had an iced chai which was unlike any other chai I've had. First off, they make it with housemade almond milk which gave it a subtle nuttiness. Then, the chai spices really shined through, but it wasn't overpowering. This chai had just a touch of sweetness. I have a feeling this is how chai is supposed to taste and I've just been drinking it incorrectly all these years. Also a plus, the Mighty Bowl is a "pay what you can" menu choice, meaning, if you can't pay the suggested $7, you wouldn't be turned away. I love that! I hope that those who need it most know about it, and I wish that other businesses would be inspired to do the same. It makes me want to give Prasad a big hug.

Love it! I will ignore the fruit fly problem, as I have this issue in my own home occasionally. The Dragon bowl is for real. Kimchee, lots of broccoli, great flavor. I had it with the garlic tahini and it's filling and fairly cheap. The fresh grated ginger tea is worth the $2.50 as well. Made me fee great! Kind of weird set up inside a yoga studio with bare feet all around, but whatever.

Got the dragon bowl like everybody else and love it like everybody else! They are very generous with their portions so I feel like it was worth my money.

Prasada presents food made with good intentions that is intensely delicious. It presents a baffling question, how can food this good for you be so crazy delicious? Flavor combinations of perfect proportions - it's completely symphonic. Like a well-conducted orchestra, each note stands out but melds perfectly into the whole. I loved my Chili Bowl. Generous portions of chipotle black bean chili, quinoa, avocado kale, scallions, a little carrot and a lotta spicy. I was also thoroughly impressed by my gf's Ace-High salad - a virtual Green Party on a plate - kale, spinach, roasted carrots, black beans, and avocado over brown rice. How could you not love the flavor balance? Hearty without being heavy. And fresh, way fresh. I felt so darn, Portlandy good about eating every last drop. A nice smattering of chair and tables, filled with healthy looking people and lots of good vibes. Pretty mellow and quiet because it's inside Yoga Pearl. Kind people at the counter and the price is reasonable given the quality of the food and the lovingly presented dishes. A short hop from Powell's and a worthy stop on any Pearl District pilgrimage. Note to owners: Please open one in San Francisco or Oakland. We need you. Heck, I'm sure you could open 10 of these in the Bay Area and still not satisfy all the folks who would dig your deal!

From eating like king the night before, filling my belly with all kinds of food and overdoing it on ice cream, I had a stomach ache at 3am in the morning and I had to make my boyfriend get up to go buy me some Tums (a perfect test to see how he would treat me one day when I am having pregnancy cravings. Bwahahaha). The next day, I had to find a green juice place to clean my insides. Green juice is like human draino. Drink that stuff and your insides get declogged and scrubbed clean, at least that is how I feel after coming to Prasad! I felt instantly healthier having a raw meal and freshly pressed green juice after a day of feasting. The vibe here is peaceful because they share a space with a yoga studio. This is such a great idea! If I lived in Portland, I would come here for my yoga practice and then grab a raw meal afterwards. And the prices are so awesome! Coming from San Francisco, I was not used to this being so affordable. Prasad serves organic, sustainable raw meals that will nourish and heal your body and make you feel healthy and clean! Melody Fresh Juice $6 - 16oz - kale, cucumber, spinach, apple, lemon, ginger. For an extra $1.50, you can boost your juice by adding liquid chlorophyll, spirulina, or other healthy goods to it. This was sooooo good and perfect to help settle my tummy. It tasted sweet from the apple, the kale and spinach was not too over-powering, the cucumber quenched my thirst, and the ginger made my stomach feel better. This one is a must get! Daily Raw Soup $6.50/bowl - Cucumber Soup - They offered me a sample before I made my decision which was nice! More than likely I always like it after I sample something. I really liked this soup, it was the first time I have ever had raw soup. Basically, its cucumber, cream and a spices and stuff (I think) blended and pureed together, served cold. On a hot day, this is super refreshing! It came with a big bowl of quinoa! I had no idea the portion was going to be so big! Urban Bowl $9 - mixed greens with olive oil, steamed kale, kimchi, sea vegetables, avocado, carrots, scallions & hemp seeds wih my choice of lemon ginger sauce. It came stocked to the top in a big bowl of veggie goodness! I loved it. Fresh ingredients and delicious house made dressings. Dragon Bowl $9.50 - Quinoa, roasted garlic chili, steamed greens, sesame, seeds, hemp seeds, scallions, kimchi with a choice of garlic tahini sauce. Its a little warm because of the steamed kale and it was really good! It wasn't steamed to the point where all the greens are soggy and wilted, it still carried the freshness and crunchiness within the kale. The dragon bowl is my favorite even though my boyfriend had ordered. He offered to switch with me because I kept eating his. The staff are so incredibly friendly here and are very knowledgeable with their products and menu. They also open at 9am for breakfast (they have a breakfast menu) and cold noodles as well! Love this place! I left feeling like a healthy hippie.

My third time dining at Prasad. I come here every year when we make our summer trip to Portland. This time I got the Buddha Bowl with quinoa. Super yummy and fresh. They do get busy during prime lunch times, so I suggest getting there a little early or waiting until after the lunch rush so it's a little more relaxing.

Ok. This is how I would eat every single day if I could afford it. Lovely bowls. Try the dragon bowl with garlic tahini dressing. Super duper after an exhilarating yoga class. The people serving your food are generally blissed out and sweet. Seating can be an issue and sometimes there is a short line but who cares. Come.

Oh Prasad, you've captured my heart. I was in Portland for a mini-vacation with my sister. I was also fasting meat during this vacation, so I was searching for vegetarian-friendly places to dine at. Stumbled upon Prasad when we were wandering around Pearl District, and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant is connected to the yoga studio next door, which is pretty cool and convenient. We glanced over the menu and decided to try one of their 'bowls'. They all sounded delicious, but we went with the Dragon Bowl, which included quinoa or rice, beans, seaweed, avocado, steamed kale, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, and scallions. At first, I was unsure of how it was going to taste. Everything sounded ultra-healthy, in a way that makes you think it would turn out to be bland and boring. But it was so amazingly good in all its simplicity! The flavors and textures all worked really well together. Their list of juices + smoothies sounded SO GOOD. I wanted to try all of them! Unfortunately, that wasn't possible, so I decided on the Honey Green smoothie. Strawberry, matcha, honey, mint, cucumber, and coconut milk. A solid choice if you want to try out one of their drinks! Can't wait to come back whenever I'm in Portland again!

I found Prasad to be a bit over rated. While, I was ecstatic to find a vegan breakfast option that opened early, my experience was pretty disappointing. I ordered the Lovejoy scramble and received the smokey tempeh scramble. I was short on time so I did not make a fuss. It could have been great but it was not flavored well. Just a very basic, plain bowl of ingredients that did not really come together to make something amazing. Beautiful presentation just nothing remarkable about the taste. This is definitely something one could do at home. Rice, with veggies and some flavored tempeh. That's it. Google how to make flavored tempeh and you're good to go. I ordered the hot ginger tea. It was ok. Nothing fancy. Again, I was expecting some fun flavor infusions...perhaps lemon or an additional spice/herb. Nope, just ginger and hot water. It was great for me, a traveller, but for residents...just get some ginger and a grater and make it yourself. seriously. I picked up a few goodies for my flight: vegan parfait (I'm just excited that this is even an option...how cool is that?) and a peanut butter cookie. The cookie was flat out awful. It *might* have been gluten free, though (I can't remember) and we all know how GF baked goods can be. The parfait, on the other hand, was the highlight of my 12 hour travel day. Boy oh boy. Deeeeeeeeelicious. Thank you, Prasad for that little treat. I would definitely return for that! Service was not all that great. No smiles. Just people who seem to not want to be there...or perhaps not want to serve anyone while they were there. And when I went to the counter to ask for a bag, they all made direct eye contact with me and then attempted to hide in the kitchen so they could finish their conversation. I stood at the counter for about 40 seconds before I finally yelled for a bag. All in all, I think it's cool that a place like Prasad exists (especially as someone who currently lives in town without a lot of good vegan breakfast options), but I think the dishes could use a little creativity. This place is probably perfect for those who don't feel comfortable cooking vegan at home (or for travelers who don't have access to a kitchen). Otherwise, I think they serve foods that can be rather easily constructed in your own kitchen.

The menu is fine - it's very hard to mess up any of these items. My problem is that I've called in orders to "to go", and both times I have arrived to pick up my order within the 5 minute window, only to stand in line for at least 15 minutes while everybody else orders at the register. It just seems like such a poor presentation: I'm not bourgeoisie, so why exactly would I want to pay full price for a stone cold dish? I do not know why this restaurant cannot move its register so that they make a simple accommodation, but apparently the solution to this customer service quandry is not as simple as I would have thought it to be. Speaking of accommodations, if you're in a wheelchair I'm pretty sure you have to sit outside and won't even fit in the aisle inside. Everyone is knees to chin in there. The experience I've had at this business is nowhere near justification for driving up the price of quinoa in other countries (if you don't understand this reference, it's a #firstworldproblems statement of conscience).

I work very near to this place. I've been here twice and on both occasions they completely forgot my juice order. I have a 15 minute break, so I don't have time to throw a fit every time my order isn't right, so I ran back to the office without my juice and had an orange. My rule of thumb is to give a place a second chance and then never ever go back. I have to say, at this point I'd be better off going down the street to World Foods. They have a juice bar...I think. I gave Prasad two stars for the two times I paid for and did not receive my juice. I wanted to give one more star because I would feel like a jerk giving anybody just two stars but Yelp informs me that this equates to "A-OK", which is not the case at all. I only wish I had kept the reciept.

Mmm.. So fresh and healthy! My new favorite spot :) I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu! So far my favorite item on the menu is the smokey tempeh scramble.

Awesome! Came here for lunch and ended up ordering dinner to go afterward. Although it's delicious, the Utopian salad isn't very filling... I probably could've eaten two servings easily. The chili bowl was much more substantial, and very fresh -- whatever sauce they put on the kale was delicious. I'll definitely be visiting again!

I wish I could eat here every day. Fresh, creative, and flavorful! Prasad is also a good value, because everything I've tried is enough for two meals (though you can eat it all at once and not feel guilty).

We need more places like this. And I'm sure there's a bit of stigma of having an amazing food cafe INSIDE a yoga studio, in a trendy Portland neighborhood. I am a big believer that food can heal you, and Prasad is an example of one of those places. My girlfriend and I were driving all morning and had Prasad for brunch/lunch. The sun was shining and we were able to sit outside to absorb the sun-rays before heading back to the drizzle of Vancouver. I went for a protein load - the chili bowl with quinoa. My partner had the mighty bowl with plain beans, rice, and greens with a green chili sauce. For drinks we both had juices: Witchdoctor for me, Tridoshic for her. My chili bowl was just what I needed, and the witchdoctor provided even more power greens to get over the beer and pizza I had the previous day. The mighty bowl was not well received. My partner complained it was way too plain, the beans were crunchy, and the "chili" sauce was not remotely spicy. The TriDoshic juice was phenomenal! I simply told her to order a dish with more spice next time, as she finished the rest of my chili bowl. Will I go back? YOU BET. Portland has a growing array of healing food restaurants, and I'll make sure to support whenever I'm down south.

I got a bowl with kale, seaweed and avocado which were all great but the greens were definitely on the edge. If I were a supposedly healthy restaurant I would not have served greens in that state. Overall I'd say my meal was mediocre. It was convenient to have a place to eat lunch right after yoga though!

This place is AMAZING! The staff are so helpful! I needed help to get their because I had no idea what bus to take, so I called and they gave me the precise directions. Once i got there i asked what was the best thing on the menu to the cashier, and doggone it, it was! Be sure to reserve a table in ahead of time though because this place gets packed!!!!!

Herbtonic was the best fresh juice I've ever had! I was initially surprised that this place was in a yoga studio, the yoga smell caught me off guard but it didn't ruin my experience. Friendly staff, took about 15-20min to order and receive my drink. If in a rush, I wouldn't recommend this place. I liked their non dairy options. I am definitely coming back! They have a sister restaurant in town, Harlow, that I also love.

I'm not vegan but I've been trying to eat healthier and so I tried this place it with friends. It was a lot better than I expected!! My friend got the curry bowl? And I got the chipotle bowl and they were both really tasty! The kale was cooked really nicely where it wasn't too hard to chew? Overall it was a nice experience.

Healthy food, good menu. Interesting space (located within a yoga studio and the yoga retail space). Pay attention, or you'll miss it because the entry is through its yoga retail shop. I really enjoyed what I had to lunch: Soup (Potato Miso), the Dragon Bowl served with rice, and the Harlow Chai. The menu is reminiscent of "Gratitude" in Los Angeles. The space is not inviting, but the food makes up for it. Friendly staff.

What a great find! A healthy restaurant attached to a yoga-meditation studio...only limitation is the small amount of seating. The food is sooooo good, and it's good for you! Score! We had the Endless Summer salad: piled high with zucchini noodles, carrot noodles, a really good vinaigrette type dressing, baby spinach, sea vegetables and some other chopped veggies. Also had the Chili bowl--so much flavor! Beans, quinoa, chili, kale, cilantro--yum! At $9 each, a really good price for a filling, healthy meal! Next time we'll try a smoothie or healthy drink from their extensive drink menu. Love this place!

Ugh! I hate to have to do this. All good things come to an end and sadly the changes Prasad's has made have pretty much broken my heart. Where to start??? First off "crack is whack" ... I was treated to an entire ass shot at the ordering counter/kitchen when one of the employees bent over to grab something, he then in one quick motion grabbed his pants and hiked them back up while grazing his exposed naked backside while then grabbing someone's order with the same hand. UGH! Had I not been standing at the register I would of walked out right there. I tried to shake it off...shake shake shake it off...I mean, maybe said employee just lost a bunch of weight and his pants didn't fit anymore so that would be a cause for a high five..after he washed his hands of course. Anyway, focus. Back to the guy at the counter ready to take my order. "I will have the Golden with bee pollen and the avocado toast w/o the jalapeno butter. for here" Guy at counter gives me a blank stare..."Oh, I'm sorry we took those items off the menu" ...Me (trying not to cry) "Whhhhyyyy?" guy at register (now looking around, probably for a witness or backup) "I don't know, I haven't worked here very long. but everyone keeps trying to order those, they must of been really good. What else do you want?" a very sad me at this point "I don't know, let me look at the menu" I ended up ordering the oatmeal...Big whoop. It's good and filling but I can make it at home for half the cost and the rest of the menu...Well, it just didn't have the avocado toast or golden smoothie on it....and honestly, you lost me at the crack. Dear Prasads Please bring back the Golden and the Avocado toast and fix your cracks. They aren't small cracks either...they are big, big, cracks. Two stars because one is mandatory and the other one is for hope...Hope for a reconciliation again in the future.

This place isn't for everyone. Prasad is a vegan restaurant located inside a yoga studio in the Pearl. Honestly, if that's all I had heard about Prasad, I would've probably just rolled my eyes and moved on. However, I had actually heard several great reviews so I decided to check it out. I went to Prasad the day after a potluck that included an abundance of fried food, so I was feeling quite disgusted with myself and craved something fresh and healthy. After pushing past all the strollers and purebred dogs, I made it into the yoga studio that houses the bistro. It was pretty busy when we (my girlfriend and I) got there, but most of people there were just putting in orders for pick up after their yoga sessions. Seating there was limited, but my girlfriend and I were able to get a table without much problem. She ordered the Dragon Bowl with carrot habanero and I ordered the Urban Bowl with garlic tahini. I had a feeling I'd still be hungry so I opted to add quinoa for an extra buck. The food didn't take long to come out. I could see why my GF's dish was called the "Dragon Bowl", as it had a lot of quinoa and beans, but I would classify the "Urban Bowl" as a salad as oppose to bowl, as it was all leaves. I dug around for the quinoa and didn't see any so I went up to the counter to get some. The man behind the counter assured me the quinoa was included but just at the bottom. I had to take the entire salad to the counter to show him that there was definitely no quinoa in my "bowl." At this point, I was given a small side of quinoa. My girlfriend likes spicy food and she was thoroughly disappointed with her carrot habanero sauce. There was no heat or flavor from habanero whatsoever, though the sauce was very carrot-y. On the contrary, my garlic tahini sauce was excellent, so much so that my GF ended up ordering some for herself (50 cents). Disappointingly, there was no kimchi in either of our bowls, though the menu mentioned kimchi as one of the bowls' ingredients. I'm not sure if they classified the lightly pickled purple cabbage as kimchi or if they just ran out. I really didn't feel like going up and asking so I just let it go. The sea vegetables consisted of a delicious and funky helping of seaweed. My salad had scallions, but I felt it could have used some shaved onions as well. All in all, both bowls were very tasty and with the added quinoa, I felt satiated, though not stuffed, but I think that is the point. I don't think I'm the target demographic for Prasad, but I enjoyed my experience there. I'll never be a regular, but it's a good place to "detox" from overindulgence. I also really like the idea behind the "Mighty Bowl". Eating well is expensive, so it's great that Prasad is doing their part to help.

I need to start by saying I loved this place but I need to review because it is going downhill. The problem is the staff, they are beyond rude. It is a tiny spot and they ignore you half the time with no apology. There may even be 3-4 people working. I was there recently and again with no apology the person at the counter took a phone order without finishing ringing me up. I guess he thought he could do both at once?! There was also a young woman cooking who was cursing like a sailor. The food is good but staff are truly cringe-worthy.

The thing w/ me and vegetarian places is that it can be hard to get a tasty meal with low/no grains. But at Prasad, there are veggie only options that are full of garlic, ginger, and leafy green goodness! And their dirty chai and peanut butter cookies are amazing!

Delicious, slightly pricey healthy yoga hippie fair, big bowls of greens. Pretty much everything has an avocado, you can add a grain. Each bowl comes with a choice of sauce, the sauces are excellent but small, if I went back I'd ask for extra. Fun, fresh juices and smoothies. Coffee is merely average. Service can be quite slow during the 11:45am rush when a yoga class has just let out and yogis are getting their early lunch.

I don't often go out of my way to return to a restaurant after I've already tried it once, but when I do, it's Prasad. Sustainable organic, vegan, and raw food...and it's all delicious. This is now my favorite place in Portland. The boyfriend and I have started to make it a regular stop any time we are headed back home after hiking in Forest Park. How do they get their quinoa so fluffy? I gave up trying to make my own because I can never do it right. It's just perfect here. I've had the Dragon Bowl and the Chili Bowl. The boyfriend has had the Urban Bowl and the Brahma Bowl. We have both absolutely enjoyed everything we've eaten here so far. Seating can be a little scarce because there always seems to be a bunch of people in here and the tables are limited. It is more of a cafe than a restaurant (shares space with Yoga Pearl) but the atmosphere is both calming and comfortable so one can understand wanting to hang out for a little while. Although I have not yet tried it, I think it's extremely cool the terms of ordering their Mighty Bowl. Note on their menu states: "We believe everyone deserves a warm, healthy, organic meal. Prasad offers the Mighty Bowl on a donation basis. No one is turned away. Suggested value is $7." Looking forward to trying their sister restaurant on Hawthorne. P.S. I am ADDICTED to their wellness toddy!

REVIVAL is what I got. And I could not help but it looked like a pile of black dung sitting in my cup. I literally scratched my head and went "here goes!" Yummm... and SPICY! The ginger really kicks your throat as a lining while the sweet flavors (with bitter and sour undertones) glide down your throat. The consistency is right in between thick and water so it was a relatively easy smoothie to drink. But dang, that ginger. I guess that's why they call the drink Revival. Overall, you get a very nice sense of refreshment feeling as if everything you took in was fresh. --- Side fun note: Having to wait 15 minutes for my drink, I watched the kitchen go about with the cooks and the chef doing their thing. They definitely know what they're doing, and it's impressive that they can work in such a tiny place. I do have to note though, it's a pretty damn messy kitchen.

My boyfriend and I were in Portland for four days and visited Prasad for three of them! We couldn't get enough, I wish they had a chain in NYC and Melbourne. Amazing vegan menu with super fresh produce and GLUTEN FREE! Lovely staff and delicious vegan treats. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Portland and have recommended it to friends who have traveled through. Way to go Prasad!

I dig it. Never been much of a raw foodie but I checked out it recently with the wife and friends and came away impressed. The Brahma Bowl was excellent. Great sauce, extremely filling and all of the veggies were delicious. One of the most delicious stew-type dishes I've had in a while. The smoothies all looked great too but I didn't have a chance to try them. Next time.

I always thought if someone asked me to describe my eating habits I would easily tick the "health conscious foodie" box and righteously walk away with my nose pointed towards the sky. Then I came to Prasad and ordered a green juice and beetroot bowl thing. I walked away from Prasad realising my body was a temple and I have treated it like a sacrificial satanic church for the last 29 years. Want to feel like you really have no clue about "what it really means to be a vegan"? Come to Prasad. I swear they were playing a soundtrack from Portlandia when I walked in here in my heathenistic fake fur vest and Coach branded sunnies. Patrons glared and soon recognised the "flexitarian" in the room. After fumbling around the menu full of activated bowls of grains, plates of yam rice and "rogue oatmeal" (seriously was the wheat rebellious in its former life?) and drinks like the moondrop mocha or wellness toddy, only to aggravate the guy at the counter (who looked at me in disgust when I asked "what was his favourite dish,") I decided to order a simple looking Bliss Salad and green juice. It wasn't the warmest of welcomes, and after forcing down 2 sips of my, true to title, green/grass juice I was a little concerned. But after sitting in the sun, listening to patrons ponder the meaning of life and relationships and receiving a brightly coloured bowl of fresh greens and beetroot I started to relax a little. The salad was absolutely delicious. I wouldn't order it if you were dining with friends though because they cut the beetroot like spaghetti, good luck being a graceful diner with that! Overall, this is a must try experience to see the Portlandia you've always dreamed of, but my top tip? Check out the menu online before you go so you don't make a hasty choice and miss out on what looked like the star of the show - the Dragon Bowl for lunch.

They share their space with a yoga studio in The Pearl District. I'm a huge fan of raw food so ordered the Endless Summer. My husband ordered the Brahma bowl (not raw). We sat outside because it was uncomfortably hot inside. The cashier was very friendly and thankful for our patronage. The order came very quickly and was one of the best meals I have ever had. The raw zucchini, spinach and cucumber sauce was so refreshing and energizing. Steve raved about his bowl. I also tasted it and ate some of his kale and it was also awesome. We will definitely be back!

Healthy, fresh, delicious - how can you go wrong? My daughter invited me here for lunch. She had the Urban Bowl and I had a different one (damn, I can't remember the name of my bowl). My bowl had lots of steamed vegetables, avocado, sprouted grain, sesame seeds, and more. You get your choice of dressing with your bowl and I had the lemon ginger sauce which was excellent. My daughter had her bowl with a tahini garlic dressing. Both of them were outstanding and we ate every bite. The bowls were big and we were stuffed. Note that it looks like it gets busy at lunch time.

Cute place in a yoga studio with good, healthy food. I left with my body feeling very happy. One star deducted because the customer service was decent, but could have been better and more helpful. Dragon Bowl was good, though next time I'd try a different sauce, like the garlic or lemon.

I crave this food every day. Very affordable fare for how beautiful, plentiful, of high quality, and delicious it is. Every smoothie I've tried is better than the last. Salads are bomb. Everything is great. If I were like most of the NW dwellers who come to this place (probably have money, self-imposed dietary restrictions, yoga pants, etc.) I would eat it every day multiple times a day. Also staff is nice. After conversation with the cute girl ringing me up I nearly walked away without paying. So that happened. But I could do any number of more embarrassing things while at Prasad, like trip and fall on my face, or go home after eating there only to realize that my shirt was definitely see-through and everyone could see my nipples, and I would STILL go back. The next day. Because it's that good. Thank you Prasad, for existing 8 blocks from my apartment.

My vegan (no-oil, Forks Over Knives) father was in town for the holidays and Prasad was the first place on our list. My father is still talking about his experience of looking over the menu and seeing so many things he could and would enjoy eating. As a paleo who eats a lot of veggies, I wasn't worried about my time there. I knew I'd find something. Three words: El Dorado Bowl. Taco walnuts?! Those walnuts were get-outta-town amazing on the salad. My father had a much needed protein punch in his Mighty Bowl with quinoa and beans. I swear he looked more chipper after eating that bowl. I wish we'd gone to Harlow and possibly back to Prasad during his visit, but we were trying other restaurants. I love Harlow and will be back to Prasad as soon as possible.

TL, DR: Good food; poor/slow service; cramped but nice interior. The Service: I've been to Prasad multiple times of the day between about 11am and 3pm, and there always seems to be a long line that seems to move at a snail's pace. The problem is not entirely the number of customers, but more the speed of the kitchen and front-line employees. It always seems chaotic - cluttered dishes and containers, order mixups, and the frequent pause to take a phone call. Then there's the lack of flexibility. I asked what size their hot beverages come in, and after being told they were 16 ounces, I asked if it would be possible to get a smaller drink. Sure, it's possible to use a 12 oz cup, I was told, but I'd still pay the same price. Seems odd to me. The Food: If you're not too keen on getting some good protein with your lunch then the food is pretty good. They've got fresh-tasting steamed healthy vegetables, flavourful sauces, and delicious quinoa and rice. You should, however, be prepared for a six hour version of a digestive system cleanse after enjoying your meal. It's worth it every once in a while for the deliciousness and the shot of nutrients, I suppose. The Atmosphere: Prasad is an interesting place. It feels somewhat like Hawthorne Blvd meets the Pearl - a relaxed earthy atmosphere with upscale yoga studio tones. It's very crowded and difficult to move around in, however, especially considering the never-ending ordering line snakes through the middle of the tables. I probably won't be back for a while, but I'll likely try it again in the future.

Wonderful place for healthy and tasty food. Kali bowl and chipotle chili bowl are solid.

Great juice bar and vegan cafe in #downtownPortland. #restaurantreview I got the chili bowl. It had chili, quinoa, kale, avocado and a tahini sauce. It was filling, tasty and fresh. No need to order anything else. Love that it also has a fresh juice bar with over 50 combinations to choose from. Note the side of beans is fresh and good, but very plain. No sauce or salt.

Great vegan food. Fresh and delicious. I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian but still loved it. I used to frequent a vegan cafe often when living in VT but for many years never visited another. I'm definitely going to be on the search for some good ones again. I would definitely visit again. Some many interesting things on the menu.

Prasad is a perfect example of why people love meat. If this is what vegans and vegetarians have to look forward to I'll take a pulled pork sandwich any day. My dragon bowl had some beans, quinoa, seaweed, avocado and kale. None of it made sense together and it was pretty gross to be blunt(bordering on inedible). Eating veggies shouldn't equate to flavorless and boiled. My pressed kale juice was pretty tasty but seeing that I spent the rest of the night curled up in a ball nauseous and vomiting, I don't think I could even return. Recollections of that horrific night leaves Prasad with a 2.

Cool ambience, modern, attached to yoga studio. The chipotle bowl was very filling. Had excellent gluten free beer and I couldn't tell the difference. Will definitely be back.

I have been here on multiple trips to Portland but this is my first review. This time my friend and I stopped in for lunch and I got the dragon bowl with garlic tahini sauce which was amazing. I also got a wellness toddy to go and it had a spicy kick with the cayenne that definitely cleared out my sinuses. I wish that they had a place like this in SoCal! I have also taken the menu home with me for cooking inspiration. Any interest in a franchise?

I was chillin' at Pets on Broadway the other day, as you do, and checking out some fluffy bunny rabbits. I picked one up to pet it and it looked me square in the face and said "Eat at Prasad!" I wasn't so shocked that the fluffy bunny talked to me, 'cause that kinda thing just happens sometimes. More so, I was stunned that this tiny creature was dishing out restaurant suggestions. And really, this is Portland, why would I ever eat rabbit food? The bunny got to me however and in no time, I found myself walking up Davis with my incredibly gorgeous girlfriend, whom I'd duped into coming by promising that tempeh was just like bacon. We split the Garam Masala bowl, raw avocado and cucumber soup with a side of steamed greens, and a Viper juice. Everything was super flavorful and delicious! The steamed greens however needed SOMETHING, so I ended up grabbing a peanut sauce and a carrot habanero sauce, which were so delicious, that upon finishing the greens, I then ordered two raw crackers so we could finish the sauces**. For a very reasonable price, we dined fine and felt great afterward. Outside motivating forces disregarded, Prasad is the first place I've truly felt fulfilled eating food with V, VG, GF, etc next to them on the menu. **This is a healthy example of the Oreo paradox, in which one selects a number of Oreos from the package and pours a glass of milk, finishing the the Oreos first and grabbing more in order to finish the milk, which usually results in excess cookies, a re-pouring of milk and an infinite loop of gluttony.

For a spot that focuses on vegetarian and vegan faire, I have been sold. Sometimes I just want to eat something that I know I won't have health regrets. Prasad delivers and more. The spot is shared by a Yoga facility so expect to see quite a bit of traffic during peak hours. Plus you order at the counter before getting a table which can be sparce at times due to the small size. You can either order a bowl of goodness or have the igredients wrapped in a tortilla. The chili bowl is hearty and will fill you up. You can choose white rice or quinoa at no extra charge. Kale lovers out there won't be disappointed - it comes a plenty. The roasted garlic chili gives it a nice heat without the full burn on the tongue. After I finished my bowl, it satisfied my hunger. I did enjoy the ginger tea which is freshly made. It is pretty strong but can soothe a sore throat. I would only recommend it if you love ginger. I have tried the dragonbowl but the chili option seems to fill me up for a longer period of time. Fresh juice are priced $5-$7 depending on the item. I had the Melody which consisted of kale, cucumber, spinach, apple, lemon, and ginger. It's a well balanced drink that can be paired with any food item on the menu. 16 oz portion size is a pretty generous too. If your ever in the Pearl and want something healthy and is below the $10 price range, this is the spot. The service is quick and friendly. They are also great at suggestions if your unsure what to order. What's up doc?!?!?!?!?!

Great lunch here with the Mighty Bowl, and super awesome they offer it on a donation basis! I added avocado and carrots and the dressings made it super easy to wolf down! Also snagged a yummy oatball. Kind service, just wish they made fresh OJ as an OJ lover!

Well hot damn, vegetarian food has come a long way from wilted rabbit food and tasteless, shapeless, soy-terrors from meatless menus of yore. But that said, there's still a wide variance when you subject yourself to an 100% vegetarian restaurant. Glad to report that Prasad absolutely nails it. Pleasing both the vegan, raw purists out there as well as the when-the-spirit-moves vegos (hands up!), this little cafe serves up massive bowls, soups and salads filled with kale, quinoa, avo, zucchini pasta, seeds, legumes and all the nut cheese you could ever want. It's truly a garden feast for the uncarnivorous senses, and I reckon even T-Rex himself could find something to satisfy here. I'd bet on the chili bowl, but who knows, maybe he's a feisty tostada kind of guy. There's also a full range of teas, juices and smoothies, and while I usually shrivel at the sound of all things "health elixir," this well curated list of toddys and shots pulled me from my dogmatic dissonance. Check out the Witchdoctor with apple, cucumber, lemon, ginger, wheatgrass and echinacea all served over ice.

Love Prasad! I usually order a Smoothie and a breakfast bowl. You really can taste the quality nutrition you are getting and it tastes amazing. I love how creative their menus is. They work really hard to make sure your tastebuds dance! You won't miss the dairy or meat I promise! Their sister restaurant Harlow in SE pdx is equally delicious. Service has always been prompt and sufficient.

Updated review from the second time: As for vegan restaurants, it's my favorite so far. Canteen has AMAZING bowls, but such a small menu! I tried the Soul Salad and it was MUCH better flavor wise and texture wise. The tempeh had plenty of flavor on its own, the the sauce combo that comes with it is perfect. Bigger than I expected, and it definitely made me change my opinion about this place, and I want to go back and try even more! The Supergreens Lemonade was also quite good. Nothing too sweet or too "grassy" but it was refreshing and I enjoyed it! Review from the first time i went: Dragon bowl(shown in picture) with quinoa was pretty good the first few bites! But then the texture became a little overwhelming and nauseating. The bowl overall lacks flavor, so it's all upto what sauce/dressing you order. But it's a little too much after a while like I said. This Melody juice was amazing though with a few ice cubes!

This was our favorite restaurant in Portland! We had some bowls and smoothies and came back a few times as we couldn't find any other restaurants similar in quality and price. Our Portland trip was a few months ago so I don't recall what exactly we ordered but it was all top notch. I felt like a million bucks every time after eating here. Excellent spot for lunch. Nice and sunny inside too!

They bowls here are a bit pricy, but I think worth it nonetheless. Their menu is expertly crafted, and the combinations of the different vegetables and dressings go well together. It's clear they've given a lot of thought to each dish. Seating is a bit limited; the place is actually part of a yoga studio, I think. The drinks here are pricy and in my opinion, not so worth it. A great option for vegetarians, and I feel really healthy every time I eat here, because all the ingredients are very fresh.

I've been going to Prasad for quite a while and I want to start by saying the food is great. The issue I have is with the bipolar service that I get from staff. This morning I go in and try to order a latte with coconut milk which I've done a number of times before. It's delicious. The girl at the counter tells me that they don't usually do these and just gives me this weird look like she doesn't want me to order that. I order something else that she said would be similar and it's awful. I try to explain what I initially wanted and one of the staff (a girl with long blond hair) cuts me off mid sentence and says "we can't give you something else". What amazing customer service. At that point I really wish I would have asked for a refund since I didn't drink any of it and ended up going somewhere else. I just wish I could count on the staff being consistent. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's awful.

It occurred to me that the Ace-High salad may have been better in my mind that it actually was. I just returned from a retaste and that salad is every bit as good, if not better, that I originally thought. If. That. Is. Possible.

Prasad is simply one of my favorite places in Portland. It is always either my first or last stop when I come down from Seattle. Please please please open a location up in Sea town! Prasad offers a wide variety of dishes, for a wide variety of dietary needs. Their dishes are balanced and pop with flavors in ways that make you wonder why you haven't been eating food like this all of your life. The chili bowl is a gem amongst other treasures, in a trove of delicious wonders. It's combination of quinoa, chili, avocado and greens are a revelation in texture and flavor that will leave all of your senses very pleased.

I'm no vegan but I love Prasad. I tried their mighty bowl with a side of avocado and peanut sauce. The combination was heavenly. Also, this may or may not intrigue you (but it pleased me), the Mighty Bowl is a pay-what-you-can meal. This provides a basic meal to someone who otherwise cannot afford one, or cannot afford the full price. Maybe I'm a sap but that really impressed me. I like it when businesses service the local community instead of just profiting from it. The vegan lattes here are killer to boot. I had a vanilla rooibush almond milk latte and it was refreshing and invigorating without being too heavy. Which, paired with the free wifi, makes Prasad a great location to get some writing done. Prasad's vegan food doesn't belittle or shame the meat-eater, it just shows them a different spectrum of the food pallet, and I can really get down with that. No, I'm not going to go vegan or go on a cleanse, but maybe I do want to hang out in a peaceful place that serves up delicious vegan meals, smoothies, and lattes now and then.

Prasad is basically a vegan fast-food restaurant. You order at the counter, they put some vegetables and beans into a bowl, scoop in some rice or quinoa, and bring it out to your table quickly, a table which you are expected to bus yourself as the instructions on the little placard say. You get your own water from a cooler on the road to the bathrooms. I'm not a good cook at all, but I make "bowls" almost every night, and they are a bit better than what you find here. Although the portions weren't generous, the ingredients are indeed fresh, and the garlic tahini a really tasty sauce. I also liked that most of the tables were communal-ish. They share bathrooms/locker-rooms with the yoga studio. It is a very strange setup, at least in the men's, where the toilet and urinal are divided by a black curtain, and there's no physical stall. And the fresh paper towels are all laid out in a bin, so that half of them are half soaked. Anyhow, it's a fine enough option for a fast-food type meal, but it's not the pantheon everyone got me excited about.

Took 25 minutes to order. There were 2 people in front of me. For several minutes staff just completely ignored them. When i did order, had to restate it 3 times (dragon bowl, quinoa, tahini, to-go). They came and found me at my table to ask for clarification once more. Pretty incredible. This isn't a joke: I think they were suuuper high. Good food, cool atmosphere, can't imagine wanting to come back.

It seems so simple, a healthy bowl with Quinoa and all kinds of goodies to make even a meat eater like myself feel a bit vegan curious. It seems simple, but try to replicate it at home and you will quickly learn it's not. No matter how I tried "I just couldn't get the spices right". The truth is there isn't much spice to these bowls, but there seems to be a touch of magic. The chili bowl is my favorite, but I haven't had a bad one yet. This food will fill you up, delight your taste buds and make your mother proud of you for eating your vegetables!

This is great for what it is. It is a very casual restaurant inside a yoga studio. They have great bowls. I found the staff to be super friendly and the service to be quick. There are not many tables, but they turn really quickly.

Insanely tasty vegan lunch spot. Honestly, not much else to say other than everything on the menu is good. Everything. Good for you, tastes good, reasonable priced...it's all good. Note that you will be having lunch next to a yoga studio, so as long as you are good with that, you are in for a treat. I recommend the bowls...a great meal. Very filling, makes you feel good.

I had a relatively plain dish (Urban Bowl) from their menu but I thought it was delicious. The vegetables are fresh and make up most of the dishes, usually paired with Quinoa, rice or beans. You can easily substitute and add items as well. I ordered two sauces (garlic tahini and jalapeno cheese) and they didn't charge me extra. They have a great smoothie menu and I am excited to go back and try more!

How it feels to the poor who come here... It truly represents all I despise. the haughtiness, the overpriced items, the "seriousness', the lack of service to the customer (we're supposed to be grateful that they allow us in their hallowed halls,,....let's see, we're not allowed to raise our voices, or leave dirty cups at the table". Oh, and the final nail. With their punchcard system, tea doesn't count!!!!!!!! They wouldn't punch my card because I only got tea Apparently mere $4 tea doesn't count.. F@ck them. Let's go somewhere else. I'll even take Starbucks over this pretension. Am I crazy here? You people should be ashamed. Are you that out of touch with us mere mortals? Certainly, you've hear about karma. Half of what you pretend to believe is based on humble Buddhism, where people didn't spend $12 on a bowl of rice, neighbors offered it to the monks for free. Siddhartha is probably puking!

Place is fantastic! Treat yo self: Had a juice, raw soup and a bowl all under 20 bucks! They ran out of the raw soup just when I ordered it but were very kind to offer me what I wanted to replace. Replaced with peanut butter vegan cookies. They were a bit dry but nothing a dip in a glass of almond can't fix. You feel great after you leave this place. Full of energy and the good kinda full. Get the lemon ginger dressing if you get a bowl. Its the best one! Had the Melody juice and literally had to refrain myself from chugging it.

Amazing vegan and raw food! The dragon bowl and the urban bowls are always a great choice. They come with two choices of sauce, which are off the hook. The jalepeño cashew cheese is my favorite. The Athena platter and the endless summer raw zucchini pasta (with avocado cucumber dressing) are also top picks. This is a must eat for any health-conscious foodie.

Delicious vegan food options. Had the dragon bowl with jalapeño cheddar sauce and loved it. Only issue is the seating inside is a bit limited and self-serve. But worth going for the food! Pleasantly surprised.

My go-to spot for a dose of nutrition. I don't always make wise eating decisions, but Prasad is something I feel good about doing for myself--you won't regret it. The hits are the parfait in the refrigerated case; the mighty bowl with any of their delicious sauces (i'm partial to the green chili or jalapeno cashew cheese); the honey green smoothie; and the viper juice--so refreshing. I didn't give it 5 stars for three reasons. 1. The ordering system is terrible--especially at lunchtime. They could stand to take a lesson from Por Que No with the express line--or, heck, even Chipotle which has an awesome online ordering system. 2. They don't give your frequent purchase punch card a punch per drink; rather they give you a punch per visit. So if you buy four juices, you only get one hole punch. Super lame when you're spending so much money and tipping very well for takeout on top of it! 3. The often frazzled and curt staff frequently mistakenly ring up the wrong item, which I don't discover until I'm all the way back at my office (not nearby). Typically at the time of purchase, I mentally question why it costs so much (though things do add up quickly here), but am usually too intimidated to question the staff about the cost. This place is otherwise flawless in my book and I regularly recommend it to Portland visitors.

Yummy vegetarian food in a yoga studio. Outside tables give you room to eat but it's kind of hard because they call you for your food inside but don't bring it outside. It is really tasty. I would go back.

I love the food but it's so hard to get in and out of Prasad without getting frustrated it's almost not worth it. Always it's the service. Today I waited 15 minutes (even though there was no line) for a juice that was already made. It sat on the back counter so long, before the juice master found the time to bring it out, that all the ingredients separated and it came out looking ridiculous. PLEASE, owners of Prasad, spend some energy on your service culture. You're turning customers away.

I went to this place a few times and wasn't really impressed with the food selection. I did enjoy the Brahmin bowl, but I felt hungry after and wasn't sure my $9 was well spent. Plus, when I needed to use the restroom, having to remove my shoes was annoying. And, I don't care for the yoga studio in the background. When I want to eat lunch, I'm interested in enjoying a dining experience, not see sweaty bodies walk around. I probably won't go back.

After three days of non-stop eating in Portland, we thought it would be nice to take a local yoga class, then enjoy a nice healthy meal. So, my friend, Corey, and I took a class at Yoga Pearl, then dined in their inhouse cafe, Prasad, in the Pearl District of Portland. Prasad is "an offering of sustainable organic cuisine to nourish and heal the mind, body, and soul." As an almost vegan, organic cafe, Prasad serves some of the healthiest food in Portland, in my opinion, and I was delighted to discover it. Prasad serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For lunch, they serve salads, soups, and bowls along with juices and smoothies. The menu sounds simple, but is actually pretty complex as there are a lot of options. We stood at the front counter for quite a bit of time trying to decide what to order. I ultimately chose a bowl and a smoothie. The cafe is actually in the same building that houses the yoga studios so it is pretty low-key. Most people were reading a book or working on laptops as they ate their food. We found a seat at one of the many tables near the window. I ordered the Melody juice made with kale, cucumber, spinach, apple, lemon, and ginger. It was a sweet juice that finished with a kick of ginger. For my meal, I ordered the El Dorado Salad. This huge raw bowl was filled with spinach and mixed greens, yam rice, walnut taco crumbles, avocado, sun dried tomato, scallions and cilantro. It also came with two sauces -- a jalapeno cashew cream and a red chili vinaigrette. I can honestly say this is one of the best salads I've ever had. The jalapeno cashew cream made this dish as it brought creaminess and spice to a healthful bowl of greens. The walnut taco crumbles were oh-so-tasty and the yam rice was great too. I was so pleased with this dish. Corey got the Dragon Bowl filled with greens, quinoa, beans, sea vegetables, avocado, sesame seeds, scallions, and red cabbage. It was great as well. I liked it so much that I decided to return to Prasad five days later. On this trip, I wasn't feeling so great so I started with the Wellness Shot -- a blend of ginger juice, lemon, cayenne, and echinacea. I also ordered the juice special that had turmeric root, carrot, apple, and beet. So good. For my entree, I ordered the Chili Bowl. It was filled with quinoa, their housemade roasted garlic chili, steamed greens, avocado, cilantro, scallions, and garlic tahini sauce. It was healthy and delicious. After 6 days in Portland, I have to say that Prasad was my favorite lunch spot while Blossoming Lotus was my favorite dinner spot. At $9 per bowl, the price is great for all organic, healthy fare. I'd highly recommend putting this at the top of your list of places to eat in Portland...oh, and do a little yoga while you're there too.

Really delicious raw food. I had the zucchini noodles which were amazing but had too many almond on top. You can probably ask for no almonds but I didn't know. I also had the side of yam rice which had a moroccan taste to it. I felt very energized and healthy after eating. Servers were very nice, too.

Super tasty, creamed spinach (I think with cashew nuts) and black bean soup which was to die for, plus a side salad for only $6.50. This place is a bargain, especially compared to other restaurants in different cities worldwide that serve wholesome, whole foods. Did I mention their ginger carrot juice? I'm on a strict diet but most of their meals would be approved by my personal trainer. I'm officially addicted.

I need to start this review by making it clear that I am not a vegan or vegetarian, although I do make efforts to avoid processed foods and stuff that's clearly going to do no good for my body. I haven't yet sampled the entirety of Prasad's menu, but after three visits I can say I'm eager to find out more about their offerings. I'm absolutely hooked on their Endless Summer, which is raw and vegan yet so enticing that I could probably convince a die-hard carnivore to give it a shot. With zucchini noodles and a light topping of almond parmesan, it's impossible not to be tempted. The one time I declined this treat, I instead enjoyed one of their fresh juices (Melody) and a bowl of greens. I often make food like this at home since it's healthy and economical, yet their sauces and "sea vegetables" make it exciting enough to still pay for the opportunity to try it out elsewhere. Prasad can get quite crowded but it's well worth the wait. I've never felt disrespected, although I've certainly felt rushed simply due to the nature of the long line behind me. The staff handles their workload with a smile most of the time, and even if I wait only five minutes for my meal, they offer a polite "thanks for being patient," as if five minutes is a long time to sit and wait for food. I can't see myself going vegan, yet I could easily say that if I had to pick only one place to feed myself for the rest of my life, I'd probably pick Prasad. The diversity of flavors and energy I get after a meal here make it too perfect to look elsewhere.

I don't rate service, ambiance, cleanliness and wait times; they are too variable. I can put up with anything if the food is good. It is all about the food- that's it. All of my ratings are based on vegan options only. Notes: Food is pretty good. A little bland. Harlow has way better flavors.. Not sure what happened there?

The husband and I went down here for lunch on Friday. We both got wraps. I got a Vida on a whole wheat tortilla; he got a Gaucho. The husband enjoyed his wrap just fine, but eating less than half of mine made me violently sick for the whole rest of the day. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but when my husband tried to eat the other half the next morning, the same thing happened to him after like 3 bites. On the up side, my Strawberry Honey Lemonade was delicious. Unfortunately, it was delicious twice.

CARNI-WHO???? I'm a carniwhore at heart. I can't imagine giving up meat. I find it even difficult to do so during Lent season! BUT - Prasad can be the GAME-CHANGER......... I know that says a LOT, but believe me, one meal here will make you think twice! I came to Prasad because of the raving reviews from fellow Yeeps. It has been on my bookmarks for some time and decided to take my vegetarian co-workers here for dinner. [devour] DRAGON BOWL - $9, ***4.5 STARS*** ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pras… ) I chose to have this dish with quinoa (other option is rice). Within the bowl, there are tender black beans, steamed sea weed, steamed kale, chopped red cabbage, a generous amount of chopped scallions, and sliced avocados which were topped off with black sesame seeds. This dish is quite FILLING! I was not able to finish the darn thing! I was only able to consume half and had some left over for a second meal. This dish comes with a side of sauce which you can dribble over the bowl. I opted for the LEMON GINGER (*popular amongst patrons*). Other options are: garlic tahini, peanut, green chili and jalapeno cashew cheese (*staff recommendation*) As I ate the Dragon Bowl, I didn't even care that there wasn't any meat in the dish! [drank] BLESSINGS - $5.50, ***4 STARS*** ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pras… ) made with apple, lemon, and ginger - this little concoction was very refreshing! The foam - you can love it or hate it, but I didn't mind it one bit. I would try this again, but their other juices seem just as yummy as well! =) FYI = *Located within a Yoga place in the Pearl District *Dishes range $5-11 and juices/smoothies range $3-8 *Parking on the street (metered) *Must order at cashier prior to reserving your own table *Buss your own table *Items can be ordered to-go *Accepts CC's *Rumor has it - Prasad 2 (second location) opening soon! Overall - you'll be AMAZED! The dishes here are quite flavorful that any carniwhore would love this place! Confession: I'm still eating meat. BUT if I were to convert, I'd probably be eating here quite frequently! I wouldn't mind dining here again! (I'll probably try their wraps next time.) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (especially for carniwhores to check out!) Yelp 2013 100 for 100 Challenge - Review #91

I've only been to Prasad once but really loved my bowl. I went with the mighty bowl with jalapeno cashew and avocado. The sauce was super good, I wish I had 2 sides of it as the quinoa soaked up a lot. Kale was bangin, beans were hearty. Looking toward to trying Harlow in the SE for more bowl options.

This place is amazing! It inspires clean & fresh eating. The selection of juices & smoothies exceeds ones imagination. Every item on the menu should be sampled. Can Prasad be our personal chef?

PRASAD....i love you so much. I want to move to Portland just for you. Everytime I come to Portland I have to come here. The BEST vegan food I've ever had! There's a lot of these types of vegan-organic-green-conscious food eateries in socal, but none of them compare to Prasad. I think for me, it has a lot to do with the atmosphere. Not only do they serve great food/juices, I love that they are also a yoga studio because you can feel the elevated energy while you eat. Super sattvic for all my yogi friends. This time I ordered the tridoshic juice and the bravo bowl. A+++++ for both. I'm not normally a "juicer" so the juice wasn't anything special, but the bravo bowl......mouth watering. I'm craving another as I'm typing this. A little bit of heat from the jalapeno and green chilli and sweetness from the sundried tomatoes. Perfectly balanced. But the yam rice is the star of the dish! Tastes just like spanish rice. Can't wait to come back again!!

We visited today & ordered the Feisty Tostada ($10), the Soul Salad ($8.50) & the daily soup which was African Sweet Potato ($5). The food was fresh, flavorful, & well presented. Our service was friendly & swift. Prasad reminds us of Blossoming Lotus, which is our favorite Portland restaurant. We'll visit monthly.

I don't even remember what I ordered here, I just remembered that it was delicious...yummy healthy food! I am mainly just writing this review to remind myself to go back. I love how the seating area was open to the outside.

Excellent menu Quinoa, cashew jalapeño cheese, vita mineral green smoothies, huge salads, lots of goodies Please: it would be nice if it were a larger space and quieter...

I am obsessed with this place, it's insane. I've been visiting Prasad for the past 5 years and have NEVER been disappointed. Never. That's kind of a big deal. Every time I come here I am enthralled by the atmosphere and environment. The place is part of Yoga Pearl Studio, which I think really makes this place feel peaceful. That's the only way I can describe this cafe, it truly is my "happy place." I've ordered everything on the menu at least once, I think I've had all the juices a handful of times as well. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, even the "raw" plates are phenomenal. I highly recommend the Dragon or Kali Bowl or the Fiery Tostada. My favorite drinks are the Wellness Toddy (iced), or the Choco-bee smoothie (with coffee beans)! The staff are working in an incredibly confined space. They are preparing all meals and drinks in a small space, about the size of a closet. These folks are working hard with little to no bubble space. Reviewers and visitors need to remember that the staff will not be 100% pleasant for every single moment- I know I wouldn't be particularly happy working in that small space! I will say however that the staff are committed, and are just as obsessed with the food as we are. One of the gals I spoke with last week said that she visits Prasad on her off days just to relax and eat some good food. She also mentioned that she often her coworkers come in for a quick drink on their off days too. Prasad has some passionate people that make high quality food. I am happy to hear that there are so many others who think this way as well!

Last week I vacationed in the Pacific Northwest visiting Seattle and Portland. I had heard that there are lots of great vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Portland and was excited to try some out. I decided to eat lunch at Prasad and it was great! I got the El Dorado Salad first and then after enjoying it so much went back the next day to get the Urban Bowl. Both meals were delicious and generous servings. Saw lots of other people with delicious looking plates. Will have to eat there again next time I'm in Portland! You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy the meals here. Filling, fresh, and healthy.

Can't vouch for the yoga, but the food is great. The raw soups and raw pastas really stand out. A great place for the hungry, health-conscious vegan!

Extremely yummy! I had the Chili Bowl and it was really healthy, tasty, and filling! The sauces in this dish were really yum. And if you want your food a little spicier, just ask for hot sauce on the side - they give you this really healthy hot sauce (not Siriracha!). But $8 seems a little expensive for a lunch, but i guess it's a reasonable dinner price. So my only negative would be the cost - too expensive for the quantity.

I love Prasad. I have lots of food allergies and I love that they can give a list of every item that is in anything they have. I also like that it's quiet. I don't need hustle and bustle all the time. I had the Phenoix wrap today and it was amazing. Totally delicious and I feel full enough to get through the rest of the day without starving by 3pm.

Oh, I'm so happy I stumbled on this nice little cart today! I treated myself to one of the most delicious smoothies I've ever tasted-- Retrospection: almond butter, cacao nibs, mint, banana and maca. The nut milk is made fresh daily and the balance of flavors was beautiful. Their whole menu looks delicious and I'm really looking forward to visiting again. I would have liked to have given the lady who concocted this lovely treat more than the 30¢ I had left for her tip but, sadly, that's all I could do. Next time I feel like I should bring a thank you card in addition to a proper tip. Hooray!

$7 for a smoothie with rice milk, sounds outrageous but was actually worth it! Prasad makes Jamba Juice taste like Treetop Apple Juice boxes.

Tucked away inside a yoga study, this minimalist cafe packs a mean punch for its size. The chili bowl is bursting with flavors. Contrary to the subdued ambience of the yoga studios, the colors in these dishes scream out loud, and the visual presentation of the food could very well be art from a picture.

I visited Portland again this summer and was excited to return to Prasad. It was still very good, but I wasn't blown away by it this time the way I was last time. It was hard to find the sea vegetables in the Dragon Bowl, and it came with basic brown rice rather than the more unique rice we had last time (some sort of red rice I think), though it was still quite tasty. The Shiva Salad was fine but nothing special. Fortunately, the Pasta Fresca was just as awesome as last time.

It's a rainy spring afternoon and I'm schlepping books from Powell's to my car when my stomach reminds me that an apple a day may keep the doctor away, but it's not enough food to run errands on. I headed down the block to Sushiland, thinking a quick cheap lunch would be just the ticket, but then I smelled Little Big Burger, and it smelled gloriously warm and comforting in the face of the rain. I almost stopped there but then a little sandwich sign farther down the block caught my eye and my system cried out for something more complex than hot meat and cheese on a bun. I'm so glad I saw that sign! I ordered the Bhakti Pasta and a pot of Kama black tea. The tea was the perfect bit of warm, and the raw zucchini pasta was amazing. I especially enjoyed the cashew Alfredo sauce which added just enough spice and creaminess to the pound or so of veggies on my plate. I will definitely be going back for more sometime in the near future!

i live in Oakland, CA and make a point to go to Prasad (and a yoga class) every time I'm in town. Simply put this is the food i wish I ate every day - so delicious and so healthy (and I sell food to businesses like Prasad's all the time so I have sampled a bunch). I love it! I always get the parfait with cashew cream, fruit ,and granola, oh my god it's sooo good. Also love their dirty chai with coconut milk and the bowls are so good. Please come open a shop in Oakland CA - I'll help you find a place

Went into this place for the second time this morning and it was even better than the first. If you haven't noticed it, it's in the same place where Blossoming Lotus was located before they moved into NE. As much as I liked Blossoming Lotus, I have to say I like this place even better. The food is amazing, as BL was, but the people here are extremely friendly and seem to enjoy what they're doing, which is something that always deters my wife and I from going to BL. Their chili is heavenly, not just another boring vegan chili, and there's absolutely no compromise in the flavors with any of their food for the fact that it's all vegan (and some is raw). Neither my wife nor I are vegan, but we like to eat tasty food that doesn't make us feel sick afterwards -- Prasad definitely fits the bill on both counts. I even liked their raw truffles, which I have to say I was a little apprehensive about. Bottom line is if you liked Blossoming Lotus but stopped going to this place because you weren't sure about the new place, go back and you won't be disappointed.

I had the Ganesh bowl and my boyfriend had the dragon bowl. Both were delicious and filling, yet vegan and gluten-free. We had a "canyon cookie" for dessert (a trailmix type gluten free cookie), and this was also excellent.

Great food served inside a well architected yoga space. Small menu, but all the options are well made. Live food is fresh and organic, and cooked food is freshly steamed in a just few minutes. The kale in the Dragon Bowl was perfectly steamed, soft but still held it's leafy shape, and dark green.

Delicious, creative and balanced food. It is impressive what you can do with such a small kitchen and lots of creativity. I love basically everything in the menu. The daily soups, both hot and cold are outstanding and all the bowls are perfectly arranged and carefully seasoned. My favorite restaurant in downtown Portland by far.

So many healthy vegetables! So delicious! However, last time I went there I got a zuccini "pasta" dish and it was swimming in oil... Next time I'll stick to one of the bowls. It's sort of expensive for what it is (bus your own table).

I LOVE Prasad. I could eat most meals there and I feel like I wouldn't get tired of it. I am not a vegetarian, but I love how healthy and tasty their menu is. I always feel like I've done something good for myself after eating there. My faves are the Bliss Salad, Belle Smoothie and their soups. I didn't love Love Pasta... Updated to say the matcha green tea latte is AMAZING.

I'm pleased to report that Prasad has now relocated to Yoga in the Pearl, taking over what was formerly Blossoming Lotus' old space (and making it a touch more elegant and welcoming). The menu is much the same as its prior food cart incarnation -- aka a vegan gourmet's paradise. I could not recommend it more highly...

awesome food, one of the best bargains in Portland. I can't believe they are in the Pearl! the soul & bliss salads are great, so full of earthy, tangy goodness. I want to see a cookbook from these people.

I feel that after a full year of eating here, at least twice a month, I should write a review of Prasad. If you are looking for a chilled out, clean, cosy space in which to have excellent vegan/living food, I must recommend you go to Prasad. Here's the high points: 1) Quiet cafe atmosphere. It's small, but the tables are made of beautifully carved wood and are clean and warmly polished. Because Prasad is locate in a yoga shala, the ambiance is soft and quiet. If you are looking for a refuge from noise and stress while you eat lunch, this is the place. 2) Juices, teas, coffees and smoothies. All the drinks at Prasad are frshly prepared and made with extremely high quality ingredients. The Masala Chai tea made with coconut milk is absolutely amazing- warming, rich and fortifying. All of the fresh juices are made as you wait, and worth every penny. I highly recommend the Rising, with apple, beet, carrot and ginger, Shanti, with apple, celery, mint and cucumber and the Ruby, with grapefruit, carrot, beet and ginger. Smoothies are can be like a cross between dessert and a snack, or a savory soup in a glass. I highly recommend the Stumblebee- cacao nibs, banana, peanut butter, coffee and cocoa powder. Imagine a Reese's peanut butter cup, but bigger and healthier! Or try the sweet, simple Belle- almond butter, dates and banana- perfect for after a workout in the Shala. If you need something green and savory, try the Guru- celery, cucumber, spinach, avocado, lemon and pink salt. My favorite, I think, is the Tempest- mango, spinach, coconut oil, avocado, dates and cayenne pepper. Green, sweet and a little hot- sounds like many Portlanders :-) 3) The clean, healthy food. The food at Prasad is excellent. There is excellent offering of bowls, wraps and hot or raw soups, plus raw entree and salads. If you work third shift or are a breakfast eater, there is also a selection of breakfast items. My favorites: the veggie based Love Pasta and Bhakti Pasta plus the Shakti Salad. These are best enjoyed in warmer weather, as you can let the sauces settle and warm to ambient temperature so the aromas can float up. The pastas are made with squashes, with the cheeses made of cashew nuts. This is then mixed with house made sauces, herbs and yet more veggies! You get quite a bit on the plate and will be very satisfied! The Shakti Salad is like a deconstructed and reconstructed pad thai, only lighter (in terms of oil) and without the animal products. Very, very good and I recommend this any time of the year. The soups are uniformly excellent; there is a revolving and creative selection every week and they come with either side salad, steamed veg or quinoa. This is the best lunch deal here. My advice? In winter, get a hot soup or chili (below) with a side of quinoa- that will keep you going, andin the summer get a raw soup with side salad or steamed greens. The bowls are excellent. You can have an excellent chili (available as) combined with rice or quinoa, greens, sauces, avocado and a dash of seeds. Beautiful composed, very flavorful and very good indeed! If you are in a straigt veggie mood, try the Urban bowl, with mix of land and sea veggies plus avocado and sauce. Excellent! The wraps- Best when made in the morning, I feel. Try the Vida in a whole wheat tortilla for breakfast. Desserts: Rawdicious raw vegan cheesecake. That's all you need to know if you are going to indulge yourself. Okay, last bits: I have read through some of the reviews and there's a complaint about cost. I am from NYC, and I have eaten at my share of veggies places (including take away from One Lucky Duck! ) and let me tell you, the cafe could and should charge more, but as I was told "Not in this town." Think that this is expensive? Consider the sourcing for fruit and veg, consider that quinoa must be imported from Peru and is not cheap, consider that this crew makes their own nut milks, that the customers are not getting fillers like wheat flour, and the cost now seems in line with what the guest is getting. I have not been to Blossoming Lotus, ever, so I don't know about the atmosphere there! Prasad is not good for fractious children nor fractious adults, for that matter; the noise level is low and relaxing. There's no alcohol served- I suggest takeaway for wine with dinner! I have not tried the Fiesty Tostada nor the El Dorado Salad- an excellent excuse to come in once again! In short: Visit Prasad if you are vegetarian/vegan or if you simply want veggie based food that well prepared and well priced, in a clean, calming atmosphere!

There's food that tastes good and there's food that tastes good and feels good when you eat it and throughout the rest of the day. Few places reach the latter criteria, and Prasad delivers. I am not from Portland, but am obsessed about eating at least one meal here when I visit.

  • Shayna F.

AMAZING! no, amazing is an understatement because this place made me feel good inside and out and tasted like a whole lotta magic. The raw vegan collard green Vida wrap with pesto and some other awesome veggies was so refreshing and had the perfect texture, which is a rare thing to find in a deli case. The Shiva salad was addicting even though I had eaten my fill and the beets were the perfect compliment to an amazing rice noodle and perfect tamarind peanut sauce. PURE HEAVEN. The thing that put this almost flawless meal over the edge was the juice. I LOVE VEGETABLE JUICES. Like truly adore. Their Rising juice, your standard carrot, beet, apple, ginger was delicious and they didn't even mind adding some kale for me. It was glorious. I also tried my friend's Pink Flamingo smoothie with nut milk - tasted like a strawberry milkshake, but waaaay better for you. Amazing. To top it all off, our cashier wasn't half bad to look at and he was very attentive and quick to anything we needed. Overall, this place made me really want to make the permanent move to Portland (plus it's super close to one of the most amazing ad agencies in the world and Cargo, a crazy awesome store for unique imported furniture and accessories). Please come here and make a day of it - yoga, lunch and Cargo, because it will be an amazing day.

Delicious and healthy! The prices are cheaper than Blossoming Lotus and the portions are larger, plus I think the food is as good or better. Prasad is more generous with toppings like cashew cheese. Very very good, if you enjoy organic vegan fare, check this place out. there are also several fantastic raw selections. They bring in raw desserts from another restaurant or caterer that are amazing...I had the raw turtle cheesecake, yum!

Right next to Yoga Pearl, Prasad has a great menu filled with hearty organic (and gluten free) choices. And they support our local farms. Nice ambiance next to the studio - Fun on a warm day when the roll-up door is open!

I discovered Prasad yesterday and have already had 3 meals here. YES, 3 MEALS... needless to say, this place is awesome. As someone who lives alone and 3 blocks away, I think I've found my new kitchen. The staff is very nice and will help guide you in what to eat if you want. So far I have had the Vida Wrap with collard outside, Ganesh Bowl and the Shiva Salad. I would order the first 2 again in a heartbeat. The also offer tons of juices, smoothies and coffee/chai drinks. Can't wait for lunch tomorrow... ha.

Ate here in April 2013. First, I just want to make the distinction between what I call 'transitional vegan food' and 'vegan food'. There are an awful lot of vegan places that craft their cuisine to look, taste and smell like some sort of traditional meat dish. I think that is awesome and necessary. I go to those restaurants too. And some of them I love. Souley Vegan, in Oakland is one of them. Then there are places like Prasad. Unashamedly, unabashedly vegan and they make food that stands on its own, against any other food out there, meat, veggie or vegan. The eatin' area is small and cozy, located within a larger establishment that I'm pretty sure is a yoga spa. It's a nice neighborhood. Although when we got there, there was a woman pushing her mobile estate along on the sidewalk, having a fine conversation with herself. She seemed a little pissed at something, but, was very polite to us. Go figure :) I had the Soul Salad. It was an assemblage of spinach, pepitas, smoked tempeh, these amazing roasted tomatoes, avocado and some really divine salad dressing. It was garlicky and delightful. This is what vegan cuisine is to become. I also tried a cocoa nib truffle. It was yummy and I wanted to buy a handful of them but abstained. The restaurant was staffed by Goddesses. They were all strong and beautiful and healthy and they were making amazing food meant to nourish ones soul and not just feed one's belly. Hyperbole? No, try try 'em. Then decide. The one down side. This excellence is not cheap.

I was in Portland for two days for an interview...Yelp led me to Prasad on my first night and it was so good I came back the second night, too. Prasad shares space with a yoga studio, which sounds weird, but doesn't feel weird. I'm not vegetarian, but I like to eat healthy sometimes, particularly when traveling. Prasad offers vegan food, both cooked and raw. I had the Tanuki bowl (house made miso soup with sea veggies, kale, cabbage, carrots, scallions, and sesame seeds. It was amazing comfort food for a chilly night. I also had the urban bowl (with quinoa for an extra dollar), with greens, kale, cabbage, sea veggies, avocado, carrots, scallions, sesame and hemp seeds, and garlic tahini sauce (there are several sauce options to choose from). I also had the ginger tea both nights...it was freshly grated ginger steeped in hot water and was divine. The staff was friendly, laid back, on top of their games, and very patient with my inability to make a quick decision among all the tantalizing choices on the menu. In a nutshell, healthy food that is astoundingly delicious and served in a wonderful atmosphere. If only I lived in Portland, I would be a frequent visitor.

I'm a meat-loving omnivore, and I went to this place three times in the course of a week-long stay in Portland. Their ingredients and dressings are fresh and delicious, and their $7 smoothies are worth every penny. I've had the Chipotle Tempeh Scramble and Fresh Fruit plate with their incredible vanilla cashew cream and raw almond butter (both breakfast items served only until 11am), the Dragon Bowl with their excellent garlic tahini and peanut sauces, the watermelon gazpacho (raw soup of the day), and the following amazing smoothies made with homemade almond hemp milk: Sweet Jule (strawberry, avocado, date, mint), Retrospection (almond butter, cacao nibs, mint, banana), Honey Green (strawberry, matcha, cucumber, mint, honey, coconut milk), and Stella (carrot ginger juice, coconut milk, strawberries, banana). Aside from their underwhelming toast that came with the scamble, every item I've had there made me feel like I've died and gone to heaven, not to mention I felt good about what I was eating, and felt great after eating it. I've never had such expensive smoothies in my life, but I would gladly pay to have them in my hometown. The only suggestion I have for them is to make their breakfast menu items available all day. Sometimes fruit in the afternoon is the best snack!

Ughhhh... One word: DIE. I died and went to heaven when I discovered Prasad. I went to Yoga at Yoga Pearl and discovered I worked up a monster of an appetite. Low and behold - Prasad in the lobby. How convenient. Prasad is an uber healthy, all natural, whole foods vegetarian joint. They sell yummy smoothies, coconut water, alo juice, rice bowls and salads. I had the chili bowl (Bhutanese red rice, kale, avocado, two different kinds of beans, chilis, some sort of sauce and scallions) and it was SO good. Everything else on the menu was incredible too. Yummy and nourishing. My body is literally screaming for more. Me likey.

Great food (esp. the Pasta Fresca). Plan on doing take-out or waiting a bit for a seat if you have a small party (otherwise it is likely you will not have a seat). The variety of fresh juices is superb. The raw selection is as well. I just finished a juice cleanse and my first solid food came from Prasad. Couldn't have made a more pure and healthy choice!

I really want to like this place more, but I'm having a bit of a tough time. Don't get me wrong, the place has a lot of things going for it. I really love the entire Jungle theme that they have going on, with the bamboo trim and the abundance of plants. The employees are extremely friendly, helpful, and very quick with your orders. The portions are generous and the raw ingredients are quite fresh and delicious. So why only 3 stars? The food itself just really didn't do it for me. I had the Dragon bowl with the green chili sauce and though it was loaded with delicious, fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked-grain, it just tasted relatively bland to me. Especially compared to the other restaurants doing wonderful raw dishes here in town. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. I will definitely head back again in the near future and try something else so that I can write another review. Those pictures of the chili bowl are making my stomach growl as we speak!

We are not from Portland, just visitng, so it was a bit daunting to walk into a Yoga studio to grab vegetarian lunch. It is SO worth it. They were super friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing. It's got a very rejuvinating atmosphere. The food was so good I've been trying to recreate the meals we had for lunches ever since we returned home from our trip. When we return to Portland we will be sure to head back to Prasad.

Prasad means holy food in Sanskrit. I love good food. Therefore, I love Prasad. They took over the old Blossoming Lotus space, which I often frequented. When BL closed up this space, I was super bummed because I loved the grab-and-go downtown convenience. Then Prasad opened up. I used to think that the space was cursed because the BL staff that worked there had the worst attitudes and were so rude, but Prasad that proven the their blessed food can exorcise a place of it's hipster demons. (I'm not trying to be mean to BL, they are my fav sit-down joint in the world and the service on Broadway has been nothing but nice.) I will say that it's tough to go neck-and-neck and be compared to Blossoming Lotus, because the Lotus is beyond anything in the world. But Prasad holds it's own. Excellent food. The quality is high, the portions are ample and the menu is inventive. It's so wonderful to be able to feel like you're treating yourself all while nourishing your body. How awesome is that?! I love the Bliss Salad and Love Pasta, my two favorites, and the Chipotle Tempeh Scramble is awesome. And that teff bread they use for toast? Swoon. Not every item packs the same punch that BL customers are used to, but Prasad seems to go by a different model and that's okay. The food is delicious and nutritious. And their price point is lower than BL, which is great for a quick, quality bite.

Being a veggie for 5 years and being so health conscious, it's sometimes hard to find a place that's just that yummy when you get so acquainted with trying new things at home. Prasad is so great. One of the best meals I've had in portland which is saying a lot since so much is delicious here. The ladies were all super friendly and even though it's just in the front part of a yoga studio, I still felt like it was unique. They also have one of the best green juice/smoothie lists I've seen. A lot of options I've never seen anywhere else.

The bowls are really big here, and there are SO many choices (I often spend an exorbitant amount of time looking at the menu, even though I've now been here at least 6 times). Today I had the Glory Parfait, which came with crunchy granola, a cashew "creme" and fresh blueberries, apples and kiwis. It was delightful, if a bit expensive, and totally flavorful and filling. Perfect for an afternoon snack.

This place just wows me every time. Got the zucchini pasta with sundried tomato pesto dish and it was just incredible. Fresh and bursting with flavor. I thought I wouldn't be able to get through the whole plate, but I just couldn't stop myself. Cheers to Prasad, along with a few other notables around town for making Vegan and Gluten Free a delicious affair.

This place is fantastic if you have an appreciation of raw food. I especially recommend the feisty tostada. I have not found many raw food restaurants in Portland. The only thing that bums me about this place is that it is clearly, first, a yoga studio. If Prasad opened a huge restaurant with lots of seating and more service I would eat there nonstop. Some people have said that service is poor but you have to note that this is a place to order your food and then seat yourself and bus your own spot. I have seen the staff swamped with people for orders and then they are also running around cleaning up the messes of people who assumed you could leave all your plates and trash on the tables.

I've had one of Prasad's menus in my purse for 3 months. It is that fun to peruse. Hmm which healthful and nourishing meal do I want to honor myself with today? I love reading through all the options and marveling at the creative flavor combinations. The Chipotle Tempeh Scramble and the Chili Scramble with New Cascadia Teff toast and vegan butter are our go-to breakfasts. The smoothie and juice offerings are abundant and varied. Wallflower and Honey Green are my top two. Craving a creamy smooth non-coffee latte? Try the Matcha Latte with coconut milk or the Alberta Street Chai latte which packs an extra oomph with its smoky goodness.

How times have changed: mention vegetarian food ten years ago, I would have shooed you away with a Burgerville menu. But these are not the times of bland no-meat options, and Prasad has taken creativity to another level. The Chipotle Tempeh scramble and Bliss Salad are oh so good. There are too many yummy drink creations to mention, ice peppermint tea, Belle, and Shanti standout. Parking seems like it would be a pain, but it's not that bad. Staff is usually very pleasant. Prices are as expected for such quality food and drink. There's one experience here that non-vegetarian venues don't offer: I physically feel great AFTER my meal.

After posting a bad experience I had with an employee the owner contacted me and offered a sincere apology. I appreciate the attention to this matter so that I may feel comfortable returning. The food is without fault.

I love this place for a hearty weekend lunch or quick juice stop. Their food is great and their service is quick. The only downside here is the limited seating.

Prasad offers great healthy food at a very reasonable price. Where else in town can you get a bowl of soup and a side for 6.50? The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations. Prasad also offers a great selection of healthy drinks. It's also great that's it located in a shared space with Yoga Pearl. I love that I am able to combine having a healthy Yin Yoga workout with some healthy, and tasty food afterwards.:) In addition, they have a great selection of raw food as well as cooked food.:)

Love this place! I went to a noon yoga class and then came and ordered The Urban Bowl with quinoa. The lady who took my order was very nice even though I could tell they were super busy! I waited for about 2 minutes and got my order. I took it to go. It was so tasty and filling. I put a little hot sauce on it as well. Best part if you don't finish your food and feel heavy. It's a great mix of veggies.

Prasad has a great selection of REALLY delicious smoothies. I make smoothies at home almost every day, but their recipes are so creative and yummy. Their food is also great, lots of gluten free options, and they have some really amazing sauces. Green chili is my favorite :)

I hate vegans. I find them annoying, malnourished and boring. Also, most of the vegans I know are bald. That's a bad sign. Vegans are a lot like actors and actresses - not as smart as they think they are and completely self-consumed. Now that I've established my negative views, you can take my four star positive review of this place as legit. I had the Chilli bowl.....it was very tasty, light and healthy. The service was excellent above and beyond what is normally expected at an order-at- the-counter type of place. Even the guy with the stupid primal earrings behind the counter was really nice and good at this job. And the girl who will regret the myriad of tattoos she has on her body when she turns 35 was also top notch. I'll definately be back...not only to eat the food but also to make angry snap judgements about people. This goes down as some of the best vegetarian food I've had - alongside Native Foods in LA and Candle Cafe in NYC.

Superhero food. Food you eat before saving the world. I had the chili bowl with kale & quinoa - fantastic. FRESH!! The cute counter guy told me every day they get their vegetables delivered by a Bicycle Messenger. Good food that you can feel good about. You order from the counter then take a seat in a open feeling seating area. If I lived in Portland, I would do my yoga next door and eat lunch here every single day.

Had to get a second lunch elsewhere after paying $11 for a bowl here because it was so small. I mean, seriously pinner. (I'm oft satisfied with a basic sushi roll for lunch, as a gauge.) Has that happened to you, or me, anywhere else in Portland? No. You're better off with Blossoming Lotus, Laughing Planet or Whole Bowl for a square vegan meal. Or Casba Mediterranean Cafe, which is pretty close to Prasad, or Isabel, or Peem Kaew Thai. Looks like they make great smoothies, chai and other beverages though.

One of my very favorite places. This is the place I want to live next door to so that I can partake in gorgeous, healthy cuisine ever day of my life. Much of what is on their menu can be attempted to be duplicated at home, as the menu consists of fresh, simple, organic ingredients, such as fresh greens, quinoa, bhutanese red rice, Tempeh, beets, carrots, zucchini, etc. Where the magic lies is in the creative balance of flavor emanating from Prasads amazing sauces and dressings. They are crave worthy. Each dish is presented as a piece of art...bursting with vibrant color. Prasad is a very special place. I only wish there were more locations to visit throughout Portland.

I imagine vegans must love this place ( hard to find good vegan food elsewhere). As an omnivore I found the food to be tasty and incredibly fresh. The curried lentils added flavour to my ricebowl. Juices were great too.

It would take two of me to conjure more praise for Prasad. The food is outstanding. I am a carnivore but I absolutely love eating here. Whether it's the rogue oatmeal in the morning, a smoothie after a work out or a bowl for lunch, each and every time I eat at Prasad it is nothing less than fantastic. Have a cold? No problem have a wellness toddy. Feeling sluggish? Eat yo kale. I'm telling you this place is uh.maze.ing . Throw in the fabulous Brittney and the rest of the staff and you're sure to have a smile on your face when you walk out. With food like this, they make this Chicago girl ready to veggie up :)

CAUTION CREDIT CARD USERS... the clerk added his own 20% tip to my transaction after I left! Had to have my bank dispute it. BEWARE! Other than that, the bowl I had was tastier than BL's, but the portion was smaller, so it's kind of a wash. Recommend paying cash.

I liked it. I like that it has vegetarian, raw, and vegan options. I had the shiva salad, sunflowerseed pate, and raw crackers. A simple meal, with simple ingredients, but prepared fairly well. The price wasn't ridiculous for the type of food it was serving. Additionally, I used the groupon from last year for this - so I paid half of what I would have. Maybe that's skewing my perspective. I would definitely go back! I'm craving the peanut sauce covered noodles. oh! And they were playing the Blind Pilot cd in the store - I can't dislike a restaurant that plays some of my favorite music.

I'm a raw vegan visiting and found Prasad on a google search. So glad!!! The food was awesome! My non raw (vegetarian) friends loved it too. Very nice place ... Enjoyed eating there very much. Highly recommend it. I'll definitely stop in the next time I'm in Portland.

The space was really beautiful. They opened the sliding gargage-style door while we were eating. Food was fast, fresh, and really delciious. I had the dragon bowl with green chili and garlic tahini - it was awesome. I also had peppermint tea, same - delicious. It was very relaxing and started to get more busy as it got closer to lunch hours. But really this is a great space and has great food!

Awesome awesome place. According to their website, over 90% of the menu is organic and all of it is sustainable. So I definitely don't have to worry about the yucky pesticides & antibiotics in my food (Not to freak anyone out). The food was also pretty cheap- you could definitely get a lunch for under $10. I ordered the Dragon bowl for $8 and it was a pretty hefty bowl with a mixture of "quinoa, beans, arame, wakame, dulse, avocado, steamed greens, sesame seeds and sprouts" and choice between 3 sauces. I asked for two sauces &mixed at the cashier's recommendation. (It's one of those places where you order at the cashier, receive a number, and seat yourselves). I also had their matcha green tea with coconut milk and it was really flavorful- each sip was felt like a meal though, so maybe a bit too heavy on the milk. My buddy had the ace wrap for $7, which looked like my dragon bowl but wrapped in a large lettuce leaf. It was 1/2 the size of the bowls, so I think the bowls are probably a better value. I did get lost trying to find the place. I couldn't find it on google maps, so I tried looking for 925 davis street and ended up inside the portland art museum. Sad and hungry, I finally found the place inside the Pearl District Yoga studio (across the street and two blocks away). But now that I know where this is, I'll definitely be back! And maybe I'll even take some yoga classes while I'm at it.

When I first went to prasad I was in love!!!!!! The chile bowl, the parfait, belle smoothie....yum! I also love their daily soups. Although most of the time they are spot on, sometimes they miss the mark. I had the urban bowl the other day to go and it want that good ;( but that being said out of the about 30 times I've been, most of the time I am really happy.

Visiting the Pacific Northwest for a food vacation and found Prasad for lunch. It was an absolute treat! Great menu full of fresh, beautiful, flavorful plant based foods. Most were even gluten-free! We tried the raw sampler and also the Dragon Bowl. Both were perfect! Loved everything so much we went back the following day for breakfast. We'll be back next time we're in Portland.

i can't remember what we got. something noodly, something with quinoa and beets, and something else that came with cashew ricotta. the food was fine. not all that pricey for what i had imagined a raw-food-slash-yoga-studio-and-meditation-space would be like. four stars for the food and "perception of value received". the ultra-pretentious staff and stuffy "SHHHHH!!!" signs everywhere is what gets this place a 2-star score. we had literally JUST opened the menus when we were set upon by the staff. "are you ready to order?" "are you ready to order???" "DID YOU NEED MORE TIME????" i didn't want to be rude, but christ, give me a minute.

Yummy! Beautiful setting as the restaurant is part of the lobby of a gorgeous yoga studio. Glass garage doors which are probably open when the weather is better, but they were still nice to sit next to when it was cold and rainy. Super friendly and helpful service. All promises of food and service were met. Calm and relaxing ambience. Good, healthy, unique food. Highly recommended.

Since it was my first visit, I tried "RENEGADE SAMPLER (raw)" which included little bit of everything. I LOVED pasta fresca part, the zucchini was shredded like noodles and was mixed with other vegetables and home made sauce. The sauce tasted very refreshing and was very nice dish.

Prasad puts lots of love in their food. The customer service is awesome. I love the atmosphere and even the people who eat there are friendly. They also work with you to make sure you get exactly what you want. Great people! I'm a raw foodie and there are always several choices that are all very tasty at Prasad. The raw pie is a nice treat as well! Yummy! It's our favorite raw restaurant in town! Plus they are conscious and recycle. We eat there at least two or three times a month.

Clean and simple food, beautifully presented. More like a cafe/coffee shop than a full-service restaurant, but that's fine with me. It doesn't have much in the way of ambience, but it doesn't need to. Again--clean, simple and beautiful. More of a place to grab lunch post-yoga with a girlfriend than a hot date night spot. I like to relax over a meal and a magazine near the peaceful fountain. You can't help but be healthy at this place, so I head here when my body and mind need to be nourished by the calming atmosphere and yummy healthy food. I am addicted to their oatmeal. I know it's just oatmeal, something I can make at home. But they adorn it with so many beautiful accompaniments (figs, dates, fresh fruit, coconut milk, etc). And it's so beautifully presented. Also love the creative smoothies. Oh, and their Prasad Latte with housemade vanilla syrup is not just the best vegan latte in town, but perhaps one of THE BEST LATTES. I dream of it. Always found the service to be friendly, too. Even when they are super busy, they take time to smile.

Wow! Vegan food can be delicious! My sister and I were in town visiting from seattle. We were impressed at the options for vegan food in Portland since my sister eats only vegan. Perfect place for lunch with so many options! The chipotle bowl is so delicious and savory I crave it now. I will most likely return here next time I'm in the area. The lemon hot toddy was very strong but delicious and nutritious. The best part was the rawdelicious blueberry cheesecake. It was the creamiest cheesecake I've ever tasted. And it didn't even have cheese in it. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new.

Portland has spoiled me. This place shares an entrance with a yoga studio, so I was a little confused at first upon walking in. A lot of the dishes sounded very enticing, but I finally decided on the regular lemonade and the endless summer zucchini noodles. An inspiring dish I'd like to try to make at home. Yum!

For my first food stop in Portland, Prasad was delicious! Great vegan and gluten-free bowls, drinks, snacks. Food: Yumyumyum. I got the popular Dragon Bowl with quinoa and the lemon ginger sauce. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a hearty but healthy meal. I was so surprised how much food I got for a relatively cheap price point (esp compared to LA)! Also tried the Manifesto juice, it was good but unfortunately warm when served, which kind of defeated the purpose on a hot day. Service: Friendly, and pretty fast for how busy it was! Don't get intimidated by the long line- it moves quickly. Ambiance: This is one of those order at the counter and find a seat places, which I don't mind at all. However it was a hot day, crowded, and the space (shared with a yoga studio) is pretty small for how popular it gets at lunch hour. Final word: if you're into trendy vegan joints you'll like this place!

This is the kind of food we all should be eating almost all the time including me! But it is not the special experience of ingredients, innovation and plating one would normally see in a Portland restaurant. The food is primarily bowls with a medium, A-OK, nod to flavor. They do try to spice things up with their sauces, which can be had on the side. I tried the tamarind, an unappreciated ingredient in my mind, but I would not say that Prasad's version impressed. Prasad is best an everyday or casual lunchtime meal. But if you are dining with your sweetie, for a romantic dinner, this is not the place, unless you participate in one of the Pearl's yoga classes first, eat then get sweaty. That could work. But I would suggest to the business: plates are cheaper to wash than bowls, and you could up your game presenting on plates without alienating your current community. Then work on the seating and tables. Those improvements would cost little. With it, get your branding in order. You have more potential than you realize.

When I first saw it I thought it was the wrong place but then realized Prasad shares space with Yoga Pearl. There's a couple small tables to sit down at after you order and they're very fast and your order comes in about 5min. DRAGON BOWL ($9.50): Perfect healthy meal! It's a meal that you can feel good about eating. Mine came with quinoa, steamed kale, sea vegetables, kimchi, beans, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, and sliced avocado with a nice serving of lemon ginger dressing. The flavors together were amazing and I think lemon ginger was the right choice to keep the meal refreshing. I was expecting Korean kimchi which would make the dish a bit spicy but instead it was just picked cabbage. Order this and you won't regret it! BUDDHA BOWL ($9.50) : My friend ordered this which came with quinoa, steamed kale, roasted yukon gold & sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and kimchi with peanut sauce. I personally preferred mine but this was good too.

This place is an absolute GEM! I went 3xs in 4 days on my trip to Portland. It's completely vegan + gluten free and completely DELICIOUS! Started with a green juice - they have tons of made to order fresh juices. They serve fantastic veggie bowls with whole grains, beans, fresh vegetables, and plant-based dressing. Had the chili bowl which completely exceeded my expectations. It was delicious and super flavorful with spicy black bean chili, quinoa, sautéed kale, a delicious cashew-based sauce and a generous serving of avocado. It was the perfect lunch. Came back for a smoothie - they have tons of fresh flavored, and optional add-ins to customize your own. The service is great. You order at the bar, then find a seat in their charming and quiet cafe, which shares space with a great yoga studio. Each time I ordered I got my food in a matter of minutes. So happy to have found this place. If I was a local I would definitely become a regular. The relaxed vibe is perfect for sitting back with a good book and peacefully enjoying excellent, healthy, flavorful food!

Great vegan food--couldn't even tell it was vegan! Very hearty. I ordered chipotle chili bowl to share with my boyfriend and it did not disappoint. We both walked out satisfied Service was okay... Probably below average Ordered a sweetheart mimosa and it came in a large glass, which was great because it was delicious and refreshing. What really impressed me was that one of their items (the mighty bowl) came on a sliding scale ($2-$7) because they "believe everyone deserves a warm, healthy, organic meal." Although the food was a little pricy (as are Most vegan restaurants), I felt like my money went to a great restaurant! I would definitely recommend this place and I wi definitely be back!

Finally a place where I can frequent without the guilt. Half yoga studio, half cafe, Prasad makes healthy food taste comforting and delicious. My favorites are the zucchini noodles and the dragon bowl. Make sure to get one of those fresh juices. The one's with ginger are really spicy, if you like it that way.

  • Lid C.

Prasad is the kind of place I would eat at every single day if it were next to my house and money were no object. In this alternate reality I would pop in for a juice or a smoothie in the morning, go to yoga, grab a raw wrap for lunch on my way out and maybe swing by for a noodle bowl for dinner. All the employees would greet me by name and come to learn that yes, I like it spicy and yes, I put a lot of nutritional yeast on my food and no, I don't need a to-go cup, I brought my own, and NEVER olives! They would chuckle and say, "No devil's eyeballs, right, Lid?" and we would laugh and laugh and laugh. Oh, those guys. Sadly, I do not live next to Prasad and I do not have an infinite amount of money. I have had at least one of every category on the menu (juice, smoothie, wrap, bowl) and thoroughly enjoyed all I've tasted. I will say one time I went and a had a bowl and ten minutes later had a taco elsewhere because I was still hungry but I am not faulting Prasad for my insatiable appetite. I've enjoyed sitting at an outside table on a sunny day and doing some Pearl people watching. The inside, though small and a bit crowded, is soothing with the sound of the running water fountain and cozy with salvaged wood tables. The space is as well laid out as it can be considering the constriction of square footage. I've never really had any problem stepping right up to the counter and ordering plus what you order gets served rather quickly. I rarely cross the river (I'm not that good of a swimmer) but when I do, I try to remember how much I like Prasad as a lunch option since dining out usually means indulging in unnecessary grease and calories but at Prasad you actually feel good about your meal after consuming it. It's true that it's a bit spendy but that is the price of quality organic food. There simply aren't enough places offering fast, healthy food in this town so here's five stars for doing it right.

    (5)
  • Jill T.

Went to Prasad for the first time today and had the Chili Bowl. I LOVED it. Although I like greens, I wasn't sure I would like the kale with this dish. I think it actually made it better and really completed it. Can't wait to come back and try something else.

I'm not a raw food fanatic but appreciate good, fresh, healthy food. Tried this place out of the blue. Very small, open space attached to a yoga studio so probably not the best place for noisy boisterous children. Also not good for large groups. Tried 2 different juices, was very pleasantly surprised. 4 1/2 stars for each. Beaulah Land was good. Would've been better with mint but they had run out so used parseley. The rising was also very good. Difficult describing them because they have so many ingredients and they all stand out. Would definitely try the other ones. The chili bowl was my favorite. 5 stars! Tasted like real chili without any meat or dairy! Fantastic. The dragon bowl with lemon ginger and garlic tahini was good but not quite as good as the chili bowl 4 stars. The bliss salad was pleasantly good. I'm not a big fan of figs as they are too sweet but it really worked well in this salad. 4 stars. Just to note, their greens (whatever it was, ?kale?, in both the chili bowl and the dragon bowl) was steamed to perfection! Will definitely be back to try the many other dishes. As people have noted, not the best service, but they do their job. Not a big deal for me as long as they are not snobby or have a better-than-thou attitude. I'm torn between 4 1/2 and 5 stars. In comparison with all other restaurants 4- 4 1/2. In comparison to other vegetarian or vegan restaurants definitely a 5. I feel good so a 5 for them today =)

Prasad Cuisine, located in the front area of a yoga studio, is a great place to grab a quick bite. There are a few tables to sit and enjoy one's meal after ordering at the counter. We had two bowls, the chili bowl and the brahma bowl, and cups of hot chocolate. Both bowls were tasty and filling. The hot chocolate tasted good but was a little too sweet for our taste; however, it would probably work well for those who enjoy sweet hot chocolate. After the hot chocolate, neither of us wanted dessert. Prasad offers a quick, nutritious vegan meal in an inviting and comfortable setting but isn't the place to linger over a meal.

This place is a haven of healthy nourishing goodness. After a week of over-indulging around Portland (yes, even if it's local, sustainable, organic, etc it can still be rich+heavy) it was great to find this place and load up on green juices, awesome smoothies, and more. Have loved everything I've tried here! Matcha latte with almond-hemp milk, green juices, chilli, their nourishing bowls of veggies and grain goodness, gluten free vegan baked goods- it's all delicious! Best of all, you feel light and alive after you eat it!

Prasad serves really good food, for a vegetarian restaurant. It shares the same space as a yoga studio, and has that kind of vibe. If you're a health/yoga nut, you'll love it. (Enjoy your seaweed and kale mixed with quinoa.) It's not for me, though. (That's probably why I'm fat.)

I challenged myself to go vegan for a month (after going vegetarian last month), and Prasad was one of several vegan restaurants recommended to me. I tried it out last weekend with a friend, and my dragon bowl with quinoa and lemon ginger sauce was delicious and filling! The juice was a bit overpriced and tasted like grass, and there was very limited seating, so we got a bit more intimate with our neighbors than I had hoped for. But I would gladly return for the bowls and the satisfaction that I'm eating such a healthy meal. PS - Kudos to you vegans, because I've only been vegan for 10 days, and this is tough!

Want to save money and eat a healthy salad? Make it at home. Personally, I eat healthy, organic salads, rice bowls, and wraps on a regular basis so I felt a little cheated when I shelled out $40 for 3 adults and one kids meal. There is only one option for a kids meal by the way (rice or quinoa, beans, 1/2 an avacado, $6). $7 dollars on a "super-healthy" smoothie--parsley, spinach, ..everything green--that sort of thing. Healthy, yes. Organic, yes. Delicious, yes. but if you're on a budget--i'd avoid it.

I knew I'd be indulging in a wealth of delicious over the top festival food this past weekend, so I figured that it would be best to fit in a healthy meal before my upcoming adventure. And mostly it was the closest dinner venue after a frantic search for my bank's ATM due to a checking card fiasco. Prasad - sandwiched between a lovely array of cute art galleries was the perfect nutritious spot. I'd been to Blossoming Lotus - the former space beforehand and had adored it. I was hoping Prasad would bring the same vegan vigor. The prices were reasonable and staff were exceptionally friendly. I ordered the Dragon Bowl - a medley of quinoa, beans, sea vegetables, avocado, steamed greens, sesame seeds, scallions & red cabbage, as well as the Feisty Tostada - a mixture of jalapeno cashew cheese, fresh spinach, avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, scallions & green chili sauce on pumpkin seed pesto raw crackers, served with a yam rice side salad with garlic tahini sauce. The Feisty Tostada was extremely well balanced and bursting with flavor. I enjoyed every bite. My dragon bowl was a little hit or miss. The quinoa, greens and avocado were wonderful - but the beans were lacking in flavor and slightly clashed with the rest of the bowl. I would definitely visit Prasad again and I appreciated their dedication to vegan and primarily raw food, but next time I'd probably try some other variations of the bowl or try their Phoenix Wrap (sounded oh so yummy) and would love have appreciated some tasty raw vegan desserts on their menu as well (though their smoothies definitely sounded appealing). Till next time Prasad. Trust.

I arrived for a late breakfast, ordering the Chili Scramble ($8.50): roasted garlic chili, chipotle tempeh, dark greens, spinach, avocado, pepitas (pumpkin seeds), scallions, and quinoa, served with a side of garlic tahini sauce. I also received a side of toasted gluten-free New Cascadia Teff Bread and their vegan butter. A delicious, filling, and healthy meal here. The quinoa was cooked nicely, and the chili really partnered well with the multitude of ingredients. The pepitas brought that nutty dimension, the avocado added a creaminess to each bite. I also enjoyed the gluten-free toast. A big plus to find delicious GF meals in Portland. I would have liked a little kick in the meal (the chipotle tempeh wasn't enough heat for me by any means), but I see that Prasad has hot sauce, a green chile sauce, and even a jalapeno cheese sauce. Prasad has an impressive menu for such a small space. Parking can be a pain (gotta pay to park), but hey, the food is healthy and delicious. It's worth checking out!

I got the Brahma Bowl and it was delicious. My wife got the Ace High salad and she loved it. My only complaint would be that the Brahma Bowl portion was not as big as I expected. My wife's Ace High was twice as big as mine. I devoured mine in seconds and then watched my wife chow down for what felt like twenty minutes. Fortunately, she couldn't finish hers, so I didn't leave completely famished.

Fresh delicious juices, yummy raw and cooked food. Though they want you to be ready at the counter with your order..... Sometimes I think maybe everyone's too blissed out to know what's happening. Or something

I had the El Dorado bowl and it was amazing! I was a bit wary just because I wasn't sure of some of the items or if it would be too spicy. I loved it, especially the walnut taco crumbles (which I've made before) and the yam rice (has anyone tried making this at home...I'd love to know how) Not much seating though so that could be tricky

The breakfast I just ate here was pretty awful, the only reason I'm not giving it a one star is II've enjoyed other meals here in the past. I ordered the smokey tempeh scramble, and the vegetables had been reduced to an overcooked mush. The sauce it was all drenched in was pretty one-dimensional, sort of like a Trader Joe's Teriyaki sauce. It's a lovely sunny spot though, and maybe the way to go is their raw food since clearly they couldn't cook vegetable properly if their life depended on it.

As soon as I saw the menu offerings and vast juice concoction offerings I felt like I hit the jackpot of all Veg/Vegan restaurants in all of Portland. I came here with my strictly carnivorous boyfriend and his mum for some good ol' healthy eats and was each one of the us was pleasantly filled with the joys of juicer press. I went back and had the Herbtonic: a tasty cleanser of a drink that balanced out my system well! The veggie bowls and salads are hearty and will fill you up quick and bet yet, you can customize them with your base of quinoa or rice up to what dressing of your choice. The staff here deserves a hefty applause with friendliness and prompt service, given its wasn't a super busy day when we went in but they still deserve the props for filling out the speedy orders! This place just about had me wishing that I was living in Portland just so I could come here everyday, do my yoga next door and feed my body the mean greens here. The prices aren't too shabby here either, for 16 oz. juice comes out to $6. Pricer than your latte but your body will go into an orgasm of delight once this hits.

If Yelp allowed 1/2 stars I'd give Prasad 4 1/2...I come here almost exclusively for the Chili Bowl, which is just a tad more expensive than my other favorite veggie bowl places. Also, I don't recommend the cold brew if you are a person that enjoys strong coffee, which I am. Nonetheless, this is a great place to hit up if you are looking for some tasty vegetarian fare (and I do appreciate that I can get quinoa in my bowl rather than rice).

If you want excellent, uber-healthy fare, this is your place. Everything is fresh and delicious and makes you wonder why you don't treat yourself this way at every meal. Inspires the heck out of me.

Found Prasad on my Android - had to have something healthy to drink! Love the set-up: Yoga studio seamlessly merged with Prasad's yummy healthiness. And I especially love the sincerely friendly staff. None of that pretentious stuff! My juice was great - more expensive than Kure, but then again, Kure has no inside seating! Next time I'm back in Portland, I'll come in for some lunch.

Not enough raw food restaurants in this town so was glad to know that this restaurant decided to carry on the tradition. I am not going to compare the last restaurant that was there to this one. It did however feel like I had been there before as it just looked very familiar down to the counter where you place your order. Obviously I was there in some forgotten dream. I ordered the Love zucchini raw pasta with cashew ricotta. My partner ordered the peanut rice bowl. A very pretty zucchini pasta plate came to the table and it was piled high. Plenty of food to eat. It also had raw carrots and broccoli topped with the cashew ricotta. It was extremely rich, though it did seem lacking in flavors. The peanut bowl was also quite large and extremely peanutty, but as I said the flavors also seemed to be one dimensional. Maybe I need to appreciate simpler flavors in this case. I topped it off with a raw cocao truffle which was pretty tasty. I'll go back and try some of their other items including some of their salad choices that look pretty decent.

Prasad's brilliance is in the fresh simplicity of its basic ingredients combined with the richness of its very tasty sauces and dressings. For example, the zucchini raw pasta dish is a-m-a-m-z-i-n-g. So is the Urban Bowl.

I would eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner EVERY day. Is it just me? The smoothies and juices here are so good, but the food is equally wonderful. Simple ingredients, super healthy, and prepared so well. For breakfast, I love the toast with spinach and avocado. The oatmeal is super good, but be prepared to not eat the rest of the day, it's so filling. For lunch, I love the bowls, but the tostada and zucchini pasta are my absolute favorites. There is so much flavor in their food, I never get tired of this place!!!!

I love how delicious and clean the food is here. The bowls, the wraps, the juices, everything I've tried has been amazing and crammed with veggies, the kind of food that leaves me feeling like I could fly. The service, however, could be better. Sometimes all is fine, but on different occasions the food was inexplicably slow, or the preparation was inconsistent--two of us got the same thing, yet it looked totally different. I've also been ignored while standing at the counter, not to mention the time they refused to let my sister buy a fresh wrap (sitting behind the counter) because there were still wraps from yesterday in the grab-and-go case. The food is fantastic, so I'll be back, but I do hope they can get the service on par with the food.

This is your hippie yoga studio cafe with raw dishes, wraps, curry bowls and whatnot. That said, it's not bad at all. I had a chipotle tempeh scramble ($8) which was really filling and beautifully presented: zucchini noodles, micro-thin curls of carrots and awesome red rice. The dish came together with avocado and green chili sauce (which seemed more like a cilantro chutney). I also had a small pot of loose-leaf black tea ($3) and a vegan chocolate chip cookie ($2). The tea was great, but the cookie was terrible: it was gritty/sandy, not moist at all, and not sweet either. The space itself is atmospheric with comfortable wooden benches, lots of light, and an indoor waterfall. That said, there's not a ton of seating so don't come with a group larger than two. Given the lack of decent vegan options in the Pearl, I'm really glad that Prasad is around to offer some good food. I'm also happy that they're open early in the morning, as vegan breakfast options in the Pearl/Downtown are almost non-existent.

I had a great experience here! I ordered the chili bowl. The chili bowl was fantastic, a great combination of flavors. They have a huge variety of juices, smoothies, and hot drinks. I'm pretty sure everything is vegan and some things are raw vegan. The atmosphere is nice and warm with lots of natural sunlight. There aren't enough tables though, limited seating. Good service!

Been to this place about 70 times in the last year. The food is aaaamazing! Love the juice as well. It truly hits the spot everytime! Lot's of new ppl coming and going some sweet some rude .. I have not been back for awhile hoping they drop some of the employees. Other wise it is a great place. Can be pricey.

3.5 stars. With smoothies and juicing becoming the new health fad, it's no suprise that there's an establishment that caters to this group. I ordered a herbtonic juice and while it was delicious (and healthy), i didn't think the drink merited a hefty price of $7. My favorite drink of all was their smoothie with matcha powder in it, which was also about $7. All in all it was good place to try, just not sure if I would make it a habit, otherwise, my wallet would be very sad.

Wanting to eat healthy, good food that's good for you. I'm a simple classic guy. I want it now, and I want it right. The Dragon bowl is the bomb and the healthy Toddy should be patented. Great place to coze into on a rainy cold afternoon. Good times for the tummy

Go for this: Breakfast = Chili scramble w/quinoa (Say keenwahhh, like playing an electric guitar - I know you can do it and you kind of want to.) Lunch = Chili bowl w/quinoa (you know what to do now) Dinner = I don't know. Never been. Juice = mmmmm (juice fast anyone?) Expect this: 1. Yoga studio on the left. (I accidentally ordered at that counter once and not only did I never get my juice, I waited 60 minutes on a mat in a heated room.) 2. Wait in a line and order at counter. (Person in front of you will invariably have never been to Prasad yet will only start looking at the menu the moment it is time for them to order.) 3. Find a table. At lunch you may have to wait a bit. I say sit at a group table. 4. People in yoga clothes look way more fit than you do. 5. Some people probably should not wear yoga clothes. Don't do this: 1. When seated at group table, keep asking the couple next to you, "Are you going to finish that juice?" 2. Downward dog while in line. And now my inevitable commentary about other reviews: 1. For those of you who complain about the shhh signs... I bet you talk during movies. 2. For those of you who complain about the staff... I find the staff refreshingly attentive, super efficient, and quite friendly. Unlike your review. 3. For those of you suggesting Prasad should be more separate from the the yoga studio... that's an excellent suggestion. I suspect the owner is working on a way to slide the restaurant about 30 feet down the street.

I'm not a fan of the Vegan diet, but at this place, vegans and I can surely eat in vegan harmony. These salads are hearty. Nothing seems like a substitution for meat or diary, it's just natural ingredients making themselves into a really good meal.

There's such a different vibe than when Blossoming Lotus was in this location. It's much more easy going and low key. I had the love pasta sans cashews (I'm allergic) and it was really good. I imagine it would be even better with the ricotta. I had the matcha latte, which was all right. I've made better at home. I'm really glad to have another restaurant in Portland that offers raw/live food, especially since their menu offers different things than I normally see at Blossoming Lotus. I love having the option for variety and it such a convenient location when I'm downtown. I definitely think it's a must for anyone who's conscious about eating healthy. Oh, and their portions are HUGE!

I'm an unabashed carnivore. But I'll trust a restaurant recommendation from a fellow foodie. So I tried this place for dinner one night. I had the chili bowl (quinoa, roasted garlic chili, steamed greens, avocado, scallions, cilantro, green chili and garlic tahini sauces) and man was it delicious. I particularly like the tahini sauce on top. Such a good idea to add it to chili. I'll be trying that at home. I also had an iced ginger tea which was pretty refreshing. The ambience here is nice, I like the open, sliding door and the natural wood furniture. Service was super friendly. I'll definitely go back when I'm in the area and suffering from "too many steaks and burger" syndrome.

I like the Prasad food and I love their green juice but that's just because I love green juice. However, their attitude is the WORST attitude of all health food places I have ever visited. They are snobbish and unfriendly and cold as ice. I truly regret bringing a group of my friends here, and felt so ashamed that they are so rude and inconsiderate at a place where you want to send a message of love, peace and healthy eating. The irony!

We didn't want to wait till the last day to use the coupons. We tried several times including in the first couple weeks the coupons came out but Prasad was popular for such a new business. To be cool we held off so as not to overwhelm them; instead paid cash when we did go to help with overhead & the administration of such a great place (or so we thought) dealing with all those coupons because we also thought it was in our best interest for the restaurant to succeed. We even recommended them to all our friends & visitors. Literally hundreds of people. Meanwhile the prices went up which is understandable. I know food. I make food. I make raw, vegan food. Yes, organic even. I understand what it costs. I understand what a heartbreak it is to throw out amazing food so I understand not wanting to make too much. Higher prices did further dissipate the original value of the coupon though. However, pesky circumstances kept us getting back till the last couple weeks of the coupon. And that's when the real Prasad/Groupon Nightmare began. See, everytime we went in to try redeeming the coupons we'd paid for, Prasad was out of the 1st, 2nd, & even 3rd choices of my eating companion. But we kept trying. Unfortunately, the last valid day, my companion couldn't make it one more bleeping time... Armed with the two coupons & a plan to get food to go (in consideration of what I was sure would be a busy day for Prasad) therefore freeing up tables for other coupon holders they might hope to impress, I tried one last inconvenient time. I went early in hopes that Prasad would understand they'd been out of food all those other times (and in hope they might actually have some food this time) so would understand the predicament. In fact, the cashier the previous barren evening we'd been there let others do just that with their double coupons. But would Prasad allow me, after waiting in the order line for 25 minutes to use both coupons so I could take my companion some food she'd previously tried so hard to obtain and needed most of all that day? Oh [Place of the Wicked Dead] No! It was made very clear we couldn't even come back later that day when they were sure to be very food-depleted. I wasn't immediately sure what I'd do. Prasad messed up our once-again attempt at Prasad plans. To be nice I stepped aside so the many people behind me wouldn't have to wait while I figured it out. BIG MISTAKE! See, I decided to go ahead and get most of what we'd hoped to enjoy, just paying the extra, therefore figuratively eating $6 value on the second coupon we'd been unable to use oh-so-many-times before. But guess what? Stepping aside means I had to now get back in the now-much-longer line. Basically I should have just stood there at the register to ponder for as long as it took. Now I know! I guess that might have given them time to catch up too since it turns out it was taking another 20 minutes minimum to get food. So I walked out. Went to Powell's. Had some coffee. Chilled out. Curbed my annoyance, then tried again. This time the line was much shorter. Whew! But, they were now already out of the soup we'd wanted. I ended up just getting one of the Sea Veggie Salads for my absent companion, and would just make my own food as it's just soooo much easier. NINE BUCKS! Well, okay... while standing in line so many times I'd seen what seemed to be beautiful food and had been excited. Um... what I then waited another 30 minutes for, finally came in a rather small box. There's a pic of it above. Yes, that's the bottom of the box peaking through the green bits because not only was it a small box (plastic fork included for size comparison) but it was rather empty too. Not like the plates I'd been seeing served. Alas, I did get some joy though the second time through the line. Since Prasad wouldn't allow me to use the second coupon, I gave it to the person behind me who did not have one. She ended up with $12 worth of free food. But she had to figure out how to spend it so held up the line for a good 10 minutes. :D Not only did the coupon get used afterall and for full value but she didn't spend the money there she otherwise would have. YAY! Oh, and there was sure some sour complaining coming from those taking the coupons about the coupons. And, of course, it was even mentioned they were already out of most things. If you can't handle the coupon madness, don't issue the coupon Prasad! One star because what little food there was, at long last, tasted okay (though I could have made enough for several people with the $$ wasted trying to eat their food -- and remember, I gave up my coupon so only did get a taste). Time needed just for the last attempt (out of 7) to complete this very unsatisfying transaction? 3 hours (plus parking and/or MAX fees each time). Would I ever go back? No. Would I ever recommend them again to my friends & travelers? No. No. No. No. In fact, I would make them food myself gratis to keep them from Prasad.

*Disclaimer I am not vegan, glutin-free and have a raw diet.* With all that being said the food I ate here was amazing! I was starving and had to eat something on vacation, while walking downtown the was a sea of people on a Thursday afternoon at Prasad. I figured out that it was a vegan, raw, gluten-free restaurant and decide that I needed to try it if not for the reason to just say I tried it. I ordered their "Love Pasta" it was zucchini that had been sliced to look like pasta which was tossed it pumpkin seed pesto, that was on top of carrots, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes and it was all topping with cashew ricotta. I wish they had something like this in my city, but I think I can make this... hopefully. Defiantly will be a staple when i visit Portland from now on.

So last Sunday I took my very dear friend out for an early lunch, food was amazing however cleanliness was a bit to be desired......here is what happened.....one of the servers had spilled carrot juice on the floor, my friend and I were just about ready to leave and since the server hadn't come back to clean up the spill, I went to the counter and quietly asked her for a rag or if she could wipe it up. She appeared to be a bit put out and grabbed up a rag and went to the spill and wiped it up with her hands on the rag first, then with her foot on the rag, and to my surprise went right back up to the FRONT COUNTER and began to wipe it up too. YIKES!!!!!!! Cross contamination!!!!! Dirty Dining! Yuck, yuck yuck!!!!! Hard to believe that this happened in a fairly full cafe.......I can't even image what goes on behind the counter because we don't see that. This whole thing has really saddens me. I am a 100% rawfoodie and there are only a couple of places I can get a good raw meal and now there is one less.

First time here and I think I've died and gone to heaven. I had the Bliss Salad (aptly named) and a bowl of Roasted Garlic Chili. I keep going back to Prasad, over and over. Price is reasonable, location convenient, service prompt, setting is clean and bright, and the food is super, super tasty. I have no idea how the kitchen can prepare such a wide variety of offerings in the small space they have, but somehow they do it. I love the take-a-number-and-sit-down system for ordering and I love that the menu is changed seasonally. I also love that I can eat out without having to accept added salt, sugar, pesticides, and oil in my food that I don't want. Hooray for Prasad!

I have flirted with veganism for a couple of years, and I'm comfortable with my omnivore lifestyle. But I have to say that vegan food -- particularly the Prasad chili bowl with quinoa, and their smoothies -- feeds my soul. As someone who is also a glutton, I can say that it is NIGH IMPOSSIBLE to walk out of this place feeling like you've injured yourself. A little full, yes. But not about to bust a gut. The service is friendly, though not the most efficient. Considering that their menu has about a million things on it, the waitstaff is very patient while you ogle the long list of delicious options. In my next life, when I am fabulously wealthy, I will have all my meals from Prasad. Smoothies, live raw kale wraps, vegan cheesecake ... this place serves everything which delights the palate. Additional bonus: hot chicks in stretchy pants.

I thought my Dragon bowl was good tonight at Prasad. Visiting friends in Portland, staying downtown and wanted to walk to dinner and the consistent 5 stars on yelp guided me here. The black beans, quinoa, and wilted greens with a tahini garlic sauce was very good. Not over the top and nothing extra special. The seating was cramped as previous reviews indicated. Counter ordering was a little haphazard and the prices were high. I'll try Prasad again when I'm in the area after I visit a few other places first.

Wow. Yum. Wandering the steers of Portland looking for something distinctly portland to eat and I found this gem. Vegetarian restaurant/ yoga studio/ massage clinic. Seriously. It's real. I wish I had gear to yoga, instead I just chowed down I had the Soul salad with quinoa. It was fabulous. The dressing especially blew my mind. I had planned on eating some there and taking it with me, but couldn't restrain myself so I finished it. And in true Portland style I checked out everyone else's meals and talked to a few of the other diners. All were thoroughly enjoying their meals as well

Owner replied to my E-mail complaint since I last posted here and took the time to reassure me they are doing the best they can to improve their customer service skills. They are working closely with employees to ensure how they treat customer reflects their welcoming and loving philosophy, they even let go of one employee who was not rising to that expectation, and they no longer enforce the ordering at the counter before taking a seat. I really appreciate all this -- everyone makes mistakes, but few people try to correct them. Moreover, my recent visits there have been full of employees' smiles and eagerness to please. Bravo, Prasad!

There's not many places where you can get a QUICK (and I mean, QUICK! Like, served in 2-3 minutes quick), healthy, vegan meal in Portland. Prasad is one of those places. I decided to check out Prasad a couple weekends ago after getting a great deal from Groupon.com and I had no idea what to expect. I never got a chance to visit Blossoming Lotus while it was in this space so I was a little thrown off to find out that it was actually located INSIDE Yoga Pearl. I thought it maybe just shared an entrance or lobby, but no, it's inside the yoga studio. Although this makes for a peaceful and serene setting complete with trickling waterfalls, don't plan on meeting an old friend here for lunch to catch up as there are signs posted throughout to keep quiet and respect the nearby Yoga-ers(?). After browsing their appetizing list of wraps, salads, bowls and smoothies I excitedly ordered the chili bowl with quinoa, roasted garlic chili, steamed greens, avocado, scallions, green chili and garlic tahini for a reasonable $8. I was a little hungry and a lot worried that I'd get an unfulfilling, petri-sized dish but to my surprise I was promptly served a decently sized bowl filled with colorful and tasty greens! I was more than satisfied with this healthy treat and can't wait to go back and sample the wraps and smoothies next! Did I mention that over 90% of their ingredients are organic? Yes, please!

Sitting daintily at a table eating a lovely array of raw foods and sipping ginger agave tea, doing my best to be quiet because, according to the sign, "people are meditating close by," I felt so...Portland. Sort of like a participant observer in an strange experiment where people drink cold pressed coffee with hemp milk and exit from yoga class glowing with happy hipster splendor and classify raw blueberry cheesecake as cheating on their diets. Prasad reminds me of why I loved being a raw foodist once upon a time; my meal was freaking awesome and I felt so good after. "If I lived in Portland," I tell myself, "I would definitely eat like this all the time." Suddenly Identifying with the happy healthy hipster people, I pat myself on the back for my salubrious habits. Then, in self-congratulatory splendor, I go home and eat some bacon. If you're not familiar with the area and walk by too quickly you might miss it; I did the first time around. Prasad is attached to the yoga place, and there's only one main entrance. Order at the counter, find a table, bus your own reusable or compostable implements, and remind yourself of how in tune you are with the universe.

I love Prasad. I go there very often and I hope it never changes! Compared to similar "sustainable/organic" restaurants in NY or LA - the prices are extremely affordable. Great option for a healthy meal (Or smoothie/juice/snack). Whether you're vegetarian or not, this place is awesome. I highly recommend the Chili bowl w/ quinoa for all the newcomers :)

I LOVE this place. I went for the first time this morning with a friend. She got the love pasta (yummm) and I got the Rise juice (yummm-carrots beet apple ginger), the fruit plate (vanilla cashew cream...you are the only one I want to marry), and the renegade sampler.... Holy Moly. We aren't strangers to raw and vegan food, but this place rocked our little socks off. We kept remarking (and smiling and laughing) how good our bodies felt, how energized we were (no coffee, even!) and appreciated the differing and delicious flavors and textures of everything we tried. I will totally be back.....I want to try everything!

I am a raw vegan and there are very few places in town where I can go and get that type of food. And out of those, Prasad takes the cake - I've pretty much stopped going to the other places. Why? Well, if you're raw like I am, you know that there's a danger of things starting to taste the same after awhile - we pretty much use the same types of nuts for the bases in entrees, etc. But Prasad has done a FANTASTIC job of really changing up and exploring the flavors in their raw dishes. Even though their cooked fare is equally amazing, I never even consider it because their raw dishes are so flavorful and unique. And the smoothies are also wonderful - I stick with the Golden and Tempest, they're my faves. My husband loves the Chili Bowl, he won't try anything else. ;) What else do I like? The PRICES!! My other favorite vegan/raw restaurant is so expensive, we can never get out of there without paying at least $45. But Prasad is SO reasonably priced!! For $20 we get plenty of food. Thank you Prasad for your wonderful healthy food, kind service, and fair prices!!

Thanks yelp reviewers! I took your suggestions and opted for the dragon bowl with quinoa and peanut + chilli sauce. It was brilliant! I tried the chilli bowl the next time around and that dint disappoint me either! They have a really good variety of smoothies and fresh juices - the Bunny sly is one of my favorites. The Alberta hot Chai was slightly disappointing though. This is hands down one of the best places for vegetarian food in the Pearl! Their breakfast options looked really tempting but are available only until 11 am. (Edited : Tried the chipotle tempeh scramble for breakfast - Fantastic and very filling!)

Maybe it's because I ate at Voodoo Donuts that morning, but Prasad was a welcome sight. High quality ingredients and a great environment. If only my order was delivered properly (quite a bit late for drinks and the waitress couldn't figure out what I ordered). I hesitantly still give this a 5 star b/c the quality of the food and drinks is top-notch, particularly for this carnivore.

I used to work not far from Prasad and, as a result, spent way too much money there. I am a sucker for a good smoothie, I just can't say no. But I also enjoy their fresh juices and their rice/bean bowls. This is definitely a feel-good food place. You know you're getting served high-quality ingredients, which always feels good. Everyone in there is always nice, even when I have a crying baby in a space that has signs all over reading "Ssshhh, this is a quiet zone." I love the atmosphere and the decor. It's very wood-y and earthy.

Remember the 90s? When Juice bars were everywhere and it was really easy to find a healthy blended snack on every corner? Well those are a thing of the past, but places like Prasad are still delivering the quality health food we all crave the day after bingeing on pizza and beer. I've been here a few times for a liquid lunch, their juices are amazing! One of my favorites is the Shanti--cucumber, celery, mint, and apple. Then again, every juice/smoothie I've tried here has been awesome. All fresh ingredients, all blended right before your eyes. Everything here runs about $7 and up so you're definitely paying for the quality, organic ingredients you're getting. Recently I also tried some of their food, all of which is Vegan. Their selection of raw foods and soups is great, and delectable. I love the Brava Bowl, and the Eldorado Salad (like the brava bowl but in salad form). After eating one of those you will walk out seriously satisfied and full, (they give you a big portion!) but feeling good about your choices. Since it's connected to a yoga studio/health space, it's easy to succumb to the chilled out vibe and spend a half hour sipping a juice and reading. So come here if you're looking to relax, and treat your body well.

Had lunch here today with some girlfriends. Fabulous raw food choices. I had the Love Pasta dish which consists of delicious vegis, garlic, and a raw sauce that was perfectly refreshing and left me satisfied without feeling stuffed. The chai tea iced is perfect for a warm day and the service is really prompt. This place packs out though so expect to wait for seating or better yet, take it to go.

I finally had dinner here the other night. We had been in for beverages and my husband had eaten lunch there but I had yet to try it. I got the dragon bowl with the jalapeno cashew cheese and got my daughter the mini dragon bowl with tahini dressing. Both were fantastic but the tahini sauce was superior. My husband got the raw zucchini pasta and it was fantastic.

Came in by accident but loved the place. Their chili was truly delicious. The spiciness was just enough to not overwhelm the flavors. I'll def be going again.

Vegan cafe with great views of yoga pants. We popped in for a quick bite. Cool little cafe inside a yoga studio. Limited seating. The ginger drinks we ordered seemed to be way too spicy but we managed to drink them. Asked for quinoa and got red rice with my tasteless tahini tomato soup. The wife enjoyed her meal though. Not awesome, but may be a good spot for vegan food in a pinch.

All I gotta say is "Wandering Heart Pasta"! It's raw. I'm not really into raw, but this dish was delicious. I wanna eat it every day. I think the sun dried tomatoes made the dish perfect. And the white sauce (whatever that was) is just amazing. I also tried their urban bowl, which was nothing but a salad basically. But good! The Shiva salad was also good, but I would make it with rice vermicelli noodles instead (that's just my opinion). There are so many other things on their menu that I wanna try.

I'm doing the Paleo thang and this place really hit the spot for me. It is not super cheap, but considering the restaurant is in the Pearl and they are serving high quality products, that is not super surprising or unwarranted. My partner and I tried a few different menu items, and all were tasty (he is NOT full on paleo but still really enjoyed it). I tried a wellness shot, which was super intense but in a good way. I also tried the Feisty Tostada (raw!) and the Alberta Street Chai. Both were interesting and satisfying. Their smoothies and breakfast options look mighty yummy, so I'll definitely be back. They also carry raw dessert options from a local bakery. The raspberry "cheesecake" was super good. My goal is to try to recreate that at home!

I love Prasad. Everything I've ever had there has been delicious and fresh. I only wish the staff were a tad friendlier and the prices weren't so high. If it didn't cost upwards of $10 for lunch, I would eat here everyday! Also, you cannot claim a table before you order, which is a bummer because it tends to gets pretty busy and crowded, especially during the summer.

Way over priced! Given its location, places like these can get away with overcharging. I ordered a smoothie for $6 and it was bland. Not eager to revisit this place

There are not enough amazing things I could say about this place. My only questions is: why haven't they expanded?! Hello, come to the dark sideee (east side) please! My current obsession is the Phoenix wrap... To.die.for. I'm a Yoga Pearl junkie so I love being able to hop out of a yoga class and grab a delicious smoothie, juice, bowl... That being said, I find myself seeking this place out if I'm ever hungry and biking around the west side. Prasad's food is satisfying and leaves my body feeling nurtured and refreshed. I've noticed they make seasonal adjustments based on Ayurvedic principles so the menu is always dynamic and offers you exactly what your body needs. I bring all my friends who come into town to Prasad. They're always so surprised to find out that all the food vegan, gluten free and so delicious! This place proves that you don't need to sacrifice taste for nutrition. Prasad, thanks for inspiring my own culinary experimentation! I love you guys!

I'm seeing a lot of reviews of the food, so allow me to rave about the chai tea instead. Prasad makes its own chai blend, and it is immediately obvious that you are not drinking your average cup of tea. Unlike most chais, it is more spicy than sweet. As if it wasn't enough that they make their own chai, they serve it with coconut milk. It is hard to describe how good of a combination that is; you have to try it. I stop by for chai almost every day, and, whether they are busy or not, it's always the highlight of my morning commute. I dare you to try to only go once.

I love everything I've eaten here. I have eaten here since they first opened after BL moved away. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I'm always happy here and when I leave I feel so healthy and good inside!

It was my first visit to Prasad for lunch. I was turned on to this place by a coworker's praise of their juicebar. I tried their juice and one of their vegan bowls. The food and juice was tasty but the only things that would not allow me to give it 4 stars are the following. Restaurant-Bad 1-The wait is long, both in line and for your order 2-The sweat smell from the adjacent yoga studio (I do not really want to see or smell sweaty people while I eat) 3-Cramped and little to no seating for dining in. 4-Too hipster to handle on a regular basis. Food-The Bad 1. Juice and food WILDLY OVERPRICED 2. Peanut Sauce tastes off, too tart, too watery. Restaurant-Good 1--Good location for tourists 2--Outside seating available (when not crowded) Food-Good 1--Nice Gluten Free and Vegan Choices 2--Nice Selection of Juice Blends 3--Food is fresh and clean tasting. If I eat or drink here again it will just to be to pop in for a juice TO-GO once and a while when I can afford it.

The most annoying thing about this place is that I can never remember the name. It just doesn't stick. If I want to google something about it, the menu for example, I have to google 'raw food portland'. Don't know why that is. Anyway, that's the only negative. It's really pretty decent value for money, given that it's all really good quality food. I mean the food itself is good quality. And then the way they prepare their food, their dishes, if you will, are very tasty. I've had the Feisty Tostada, which is all raw, and it's incredibly tasty. The portion size is not large, but ye know, so deal with it, and just grab a snack later. By contrast, the raw pasta I had was a very decent sized portion. It's only flaw was that there was way too much oil involved. I'm not a picky eater, but when something's too greasy, it just doesn't sit well. So, for what should be a very healthy raw meal, it was actually a little heavy. I snapped a photo of it and will put it up on yelp, but I just saw on their menu that the pesto 'pasta' I had is no longer available. Perhaps their menu is seasonal. They now have a raw alfredo pasta, which actually sounds even better. They have decent priced smoothies (at least some of them are), and they even have a raw dessert which I so want to try, despite its price tag of $8. En fine, they have an outdoor seating area, and their indoor seating area has lovely wooden tables.

I wish I could eat every meal here. Seriously. So healthy, so delicious, and so fresh. I leave here full but not stuffed, knowing that I've gotten in my daily serving of veggies. My favorites are the Dragon Bowl and the Fiesty Tostada. Yum! Their juices and smoothies are also delicious, but a bit spendy.

If I lived in the Pearl might eat every meal here. Tasty veggie, vegan and raw fare. Crave worthy pre-made wraps in the fridge. Super fresh and always perfect.

Very inovative menu and well executed food. Customer service is severly lacking. They make thier customers feel like they are doing them a favor. Righteous and assuming help. We will never return

I like meat and fish; I usually scoff at vegan dishes because they tend to be defined by what they don't have or what they should remind you of (soy chicken anyone). Prasad though was a nice exception. The urban bowl with wakame, beans, kale and arame was really good. Not amazingly nourishing but it satisfied my taste buds and left me full for the rest of the day. The hot toddy sans alcohol was a godsend too. Very gingerry. The perfect cure for the common cold.

Went for an afternoon smoothie with some friends and their young cousins found smoothies both the adults and the kids could enjoy. I had the spicy (some name?) which was a delicious new experience. I wish there was a place like this in every town.
