Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I really wanted to love this place... ...But, the pizza, kind of, sucks and it'll cost you, $23.99, if you order the 'Caboose Special.' The crust is pre-made and you can see them piled near the register when you enter. I was expecting a semi-thin crusted pizza baked to cheesy goodness yet, I received a pizza that was made on pre-made crust that was too thick, and was cooked perfectly on the bottom but was semi-cooked on top. *I did ask them to cook the pizza a little bit longer and they happily obliged and offered to cook me a small pizza to take home with me, yet, if I didn't like the first pizza why would I want a second... But, Thank you for offering and your customer service was AWESOME! ***After they recooked my pizza (10 minutes) it still was lukewarm and the top portion was still undercooked. *Please, rethink your crust, Pizza Caboose. I just wanted a better tasting crust. The one place I thought they'd make awesome crust to order had pre-made crust in plastic bags near the register...

BEWARE! This company prints your FULL credit card number on your receipt. This actually violates federal law ( business.ftc.gov/documen… ). I will never go here again purely for that reason, because I do not want my credit card information compromised. Original Review: I ordered a "large" (13") pepperoni for delivery last night. We were given a time of 35-45 minutes. The driver ended up arriving after around 15-20 minutes, so that was a plus. The pizza was okay but nothing to write home about. The pepperoni was pretty crispy for my taste, and there was so much of it that the pizza was incredibly greasy. Fast forward to later that night and this morning, my boyfriend and I were both sick with severe stomach cramps and other related issues. The pizza was the only meal we had shared in the last several days so I am assuming that was the culprit. Although the employees themselves were friendly, the food did not impress and after feeling so sick after eating the pizza, I probably will not order from them again.

Ok pizza - the decor is a little outdated. Good service!

  • Dan R.

pizza was really good kinda costs more then you would expect salad bar is sub par and a one trip cost you an arm and a leg to get it is for sure not worth it but its down the street the only decent pizza place around my area.... oh did i tell you the fly problem inside? you have to fight them while you eat

I will rewrite a review if they change their illegal privacy practices. The food is good. Delivery was prompt, staff pleasant. Expensive, though, and in more ways than one. I took a look at the receipt and found my FULL credit card number, exp.date, and my address electronically printed on the receipt. This is illegal, has been in Oregon since 2003! To still be in violation, almost a decade later shows blatant disrespect for customers. If you want to report to FTC, as I did, here's the complaint page: ftccomplaintassistant.gov If they get their act together and stop screwing their customers over like this, I would happily give them another chance.

Absolutely love their pizzas and breadsticks. Their delivery drivers are so nice and prompt. I love the pizza parlor style dinning I have tried many box and local pizza in the Tigard tualitan and Sherwood area. This is by far my number one pick for pizza night. If I could I would make it every night

We called around 5 and were put on hold for probably 5 minutes just so could ask how late we could order a pizza. After he came back on and we asked he apologized for making us wait just for that. The latest was 10 which I was surprised because they close at 10. He then asked if I needed something for later. So that was really nice to think that if you needed something later they would bring it. We called at 730 to order. Was put on hold again. 5 minutes or so. Ordered the chicken ranch garlic broccoli something or other delivered to our hotel down the street. They said 45 minutes to an hour. Didn't come until probably 845ish. FREE DELIVERY. We ordered a giant it was probably the size of a medium pizza you would get at Abby's or Pizza Hut. My husband had mentioned it was slightly cold. THE pizza was really good. The crust is great. The pizza didn't have a lot of broccoli, not much chicken at all, a lot of onions and garlic. So the giant pizza was $24.99 with free delivery. I'm sure if I would have ate at the restaurant itself I would have rated it a 5. My rating started as a base line of three and it changes varying on overall experience. 2/5 with a base line of 3.

  • Chris O.

A decent pizza overall but nothing to go out of the way for. It was a medium crust and fairly tasty overall but nothing stood out. The salad bar was kind of sad looking but they let you get a good portion even for a one trip to go order so that's nice. The workers were friendly too and there is lots of space inside. My wife liked it way more than me but she loves Pizza hut while I like a nice thin proper Neapolitan style so there you have it, it's certainly not bad pizza and you could do far worse if you were even considering Dominoes or some other sorry excuse for a pie, in that case try these guys out first.

PIzza and (as already mentioned) spikes are great. Service is as expected every time. The kids love the train theme (and spotting the delivery trucks around town). A nice spot for a reasonably price family night out. Added bonus: the owner does a lot for the community. Lovve and support the local business that gives back.!

    (5)
  • Brian C.

Ok sooooo im super happy they delivered to me over 3mi away. Pizza and spikes were awesome as always! Wish i could give 5 stars but the in store service is just to lame.

Great pizza and friendly service! Tigard Pizza Caboose readily accommodated a group of thirty and offered a discount on multiple pizzas ordered. The salad bar was fresh and stocked, and the extra large pizzas were HUGE and had thick crust. A couple people had GF pizza and said that was fantastic. I'll definitely keep Pizza Caboose in mind for future visits.

    (5)
  • Scott M.

Good crispy crust with a ton of toppings. Would have been nice to see the trains running but none where. But will definitely come back for this pie.

One of the best GF PIZZAS I have ever had. If you have an allergy this is the place to get your pizza

  • Russell S.

To start off, I have always liked pizza caboose (except for their prices). Then this After waiting an hour and a half for my delivery on a quoted time of 45 min, I called to make sure something wasn't wrong. The delivery driver got lost and decided to deliver the 20 other pizzas before he looped back to scour for my address again. He never did show up, or find the address, or call me. (this is after leaving the thick accented and very hard to understand server very detailed directions and side streets to go by) I called the manager to express my hunger to which he replies, "I'm not there so I don't know." I asked for a refund and told him me nor my company will eat there again. Honestly eat at New York Rubens, much better quality and service. And p.s. Here's some free business advice: 1. Price is not the main reason for customer churn, it is actually due to the overall poor quality of customer service 2. A customer is 4 times more likely to defect to a competitor if the problem is service-related than price- or product-related (what has happened here) 3. The probability of selling to an existing customer is 60 - 70%. The probability of selling to a new prospect is 5-20%

Kids and I came on Saturday evening...kids were into the train set up, staff was super friendly... Pizza though is okay. Dough is tasty but it's super thick. Pepperoni was blah but thank goodness for lots of cheese, sauce. The next morning, things didn't go well either (things not settling well), same with my kids, and for Grandma too, ugh... Probably won't be back any time soon...

    (3)
  • Cvetiliana B.

We had the pan crust chicken garlic. Loved the garlic, chicken, ranch sauce, cheese, broccoli and onions. The crust was a little soft, but made up for that because the dough was just so dang good. I wanted thin crust, but I was forced into the pan crust by my acquaintance who prefers more dough (I guess to keep his Pillsbury dough figure?). Delivery was within the time period they promised, and service was friendly. I don't like that they don't have a website, get with the times peeps! I look forward to trying this flavor in the thin crust!

  • Katie K.

Hands-down this place has the best potato Jojo's ever! If I would've known that they were so good I would've gotten bigger portion. Pizza was tasty, the crust is a little thicker but that that's OK I can dip it in some ranch. The pizza sauce was good. I went in and picked it up and did not do delivery only because I was on my way home. It only took about 10 minutes and my food was ready. I'll definitely go back and definitely get a larger portion of those potatoes.

Classic Pizza Restaurant in Tigard, Oregon. This pizza is STELLAR. They are known to be expensive and not really offer coupons. I grew up in Tigard and we came here a fair amount with family and after the soccer, softball games, and probably a church outing or two. Recently stopped in with family on Mother's Day for Pizza! We enjoyed a X-Large Caboose Special. It had a nice mixture of meat and some veggie. Old school train decor throughout. I mean OLD school. This place has not changed much. Employees seem happy and have good customer service skills. The pizza was the soft an chewy kind. Medium thickness crust and flavors, toppings are all balanced. Sit down arcade games. A train goes around near the ceiling. There's also a cool firepit ----- used to be a train operating around this as well. A lot of relics to look at. Beer selection, OKAY. But, a few years back, got an old bottle of MacTarnahan's Amber. The draft should all be fresh.

I was visiting Portland and needed a pizza fix. After reading the reviews, I called and ordered the Golden Spike with extra cheese. Everyone I came into contact with was so nice. Pizza arrived and it was delish. It was so good, I called back a couple of days later snd ordered another one. This place is awesome!

  • Amanda B.

Food is great and service is great. I always have my kids birthday parties here for a really relaxed easy atmosphere. The train theme is cute but there is not a whole lot for kiddos to do if they aren't going bowling. But my kids like it and look forward to it none the less.

  • Seth F.

iv lived in tigard for 7 years and never been here. its hidden behind a bowling alley and only way i found them was yelp. the place it self is kinda cool. you got the train car and little trains. but the service and food was not that great. first i ordered the french dip with fries and we all ordered a mexican pizza and drinks. first i dont know they dont have free refills. that is the stupidest thing ever. does the coke really cost that much? than my french dip came out without the fries i ordered. the french dip had barley any meat in it and it cost around 8 bucks. the pizza was ok. a little better than pizza hut but thats not saying much. also it was a friday around 12 and there was only 2 other people there. it was a ghost town. i always see their little trucks all over tigard so i guess people just order out and never go there but if i want some good pizzza ill go to pizzasmiths

Holy buckets! I finally found an awesome pizza joint in Portland! Did delivery this time, but the food was so good I'll be checking out the in-store option soon. Tasty, tasty sausage. Excellent crust. SO MUCH CHEESE! The hunt for an excellent, non-chain, small-town pizza joint can be a tough one. The closest I had come was Pizza-a-Gogo, but this knocks it right off the top spot!

    (5)
  • Tom S.

Not one of the better pizzas that I have had. Cudos for being able to accommodate a really large party that we had on a Sunday afternoon. Really slow, it was like one pizza at a time in the oven so that some of us were done before others even got their pizza. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the sauce on the regular pizzas. Tried the chicken BBQ and that was ok, but seemed like straight bbq sauce out of a bottle. Cute idea for the trains and all, Tucked back away from the street so can be a bit hard to find. For me, it was a one time experiment. Others seem to like it a lot, but that just shows that we all have different tastes.

Pizza Caboose is totally my jam. I'm no pizza connoisseur. I regularly eat Pizza Hut & their boneless wings but turn up my nose to Papa Murphys. Take that information as you will. They have thicker crusts, so I don't think people who prefer thin crust (like my husband) would love the pizza. My favorite is the Mexican Pizza, with it's bean instead of tomato base. Second favorite is the Lite Line. However, the real reason I come to this party are the railroad spikes, aka jojos, aka potato thingies. So good! And if I don't finish them, they're even delicious cold from the fridge the next day. We live just a few miles away but delivery does take an average of 45-60 minutes (which is what they quote). I partially blame the new divider on 99W, it's so hard to turn in there now!

You can get pizza made any way you like here. Thin crust, pan, extra cheesy, etc. The ingredients are high quality and in 7 years of patronage, I've never had bad service. My husband LOVES greasy pizza, so this is his favorite place. I'm not as big a fan of the grease, but it dabs off with a napkin fine and tastes great. The salad bar is very good. Not huge, but has everything you need. I think the dressings are homemade because they are delicious and I've never tasted as good of salad dressings anywhere else. The real reason I like this place: PRESSURE FRIED POTATOES. These are not fries, and not jojos. They call them potato spikes. I call them the best potatoes ever. Dip them in that homemade ranch dressing and it's like heaven! I really like the theme of this place. I'm childlike by nature, so this is right up my alley. The train theme is very authentic. They have an actual caboose you can sit in to eat, real antique railroad stuff, and even a little train on the wall. It used to go round and round but it wasn't turned on the last few times we went in. There's also a table with a train built into the table under a glass top, with a fireplace on top. In the corner there is a huge square table with stools. Perfect for groups, meetings, or parties. Another perk is the ms. pacman machine! It still works, but it's harder than I remember from my high school days 30-35 years ago. (Is pacman really that old???) This place also offers delivery. Sometimes delivery takes an hour, because they get super busy. But it's worth the wait. PS- you really MUST try the potatoes.

This place is a bit hidden, as its behind the bowling alley, but actually well worth a trip in. The pizza is great and they had a good salad bar for lunch. Pretty old school like I remember when I was kid, with all the options for toppings. Most places these days, salad bars are somewhat limited so I was happy with this one. The pizza was also very good size and had a good thick crust with big pieces of toppings. We had a large between four of us and were able to bring home a few pieces. If you are in the area I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Pizza Caboose makes the best gluten-free crust I've ever tasted! I never would have known it was gluten-free. I use Pizza Caboose services four our employee luncheons on a regular basis and have never had a complaint. We have a number of employees who eat GF and Vegetarian diets and they are always so happy when we have pizza, and not the typical deli lunches packed with meat and gluten. Prices are very reasonable and the Pizza always arrives hot, thanks to the ovens in the trucks

  • Debbie M.

Delicious! The pizza crust was thick and crunchy. The toppings were plentiful and I am definitely a fan. The french fries or "spikes" as they call them were some of the best I've ever had. We went in the later afternoon on a friday and no one else was there and the salad bar was fully stocked and the service was great. Definitely recommend.

Besides the retarded name, (pizza caboose) the pizza was actually quite tasty. We purchased an extra large pizza for $20 and had it delivered for an extra $1.50 because I'm a lazy ass. Plus, we had to tip the driver... Shit adds up! Papa Murphy's had a large pizza for $6.00 and I don't know if it was worth paying an extra $17.00 to have my belly fuller faster... The decision is yours.

Pizza preferences are such a personal thing, aren't they? One man's cheese eden is another man's slop. Same with crust, sauce, toppings. I can forgive a lot of deficiencies if the crust and/or toppings are superb. Pizza Caboose, in Tigard, OR, a suburb of Portland, delivers there pizzas in "radio dispatched trucks with ovens", and judging by the size of the fleet when I have driven past this joint, a lot of people's personal preferences must match the Caboose's recipe. It's somewhat spendy for delivery pizza, the large (16) Caboose Special (salami, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, black olives, mushrooms, beef and Italian sausage, cost me $30 delivered, including tip. I order from them about 3x a year, only, but I have never been unhappy with the pie. We've eaten inside there once, and that was ok as well, but it's more of a place to take your kids than a place for an adult night out. As I said above, I can forgive certain deficiencies in a pie if the crust and toppings are superb, and, both of those criteria are met here, but there's really nothing to forgive. The Caboose is extremely generous with the toppings, as you can see, the cheese is quality, the sauce non-offensive, and the crust holds up well upon delivery, through consumption, and even when left out on the counter overnight, and eaten the next morning (the true test for me on how good a pizza is). Their crust is not thin, and not thick, but crispy and chewy at the same time, with a hint of buttery flavoring goodness. No puddles of grease, no congealed cheese the next morning, and probably my favorite thing about the whole experience, is a really excellent grade of hand-pulled Italian sausage, packed with flavor and with adequate amounts of fennel (to my taste). The other pork toppings are equally up to my standards. The mushrooms and black olives, not so much, but I really don't care about them anyway. I don't really rate the places I go to, other than to say as I have here, whether they meet my preferences, or not, and perhaps that helps you decide whether they meet your own ideals. No online ordering. Give them a call, and have a 'radio dispatched oven truck' bring you a hot pie tonight.

Great pizza, but kind of pricey. The different types of pizza makes up for the price

Ok pizza place. I liked the old school salad bar and the cheap wine. The pizza was rather dry and the crust was a little odd but other than that it worked for what it was. Better than New York New York down the street, better than dominos or little ceasars.

I like this little pizza shack. I like that shrimp is one of the topping options. I have only had this pizza delivered, but every time it is tasty.
