When I went to this Panera it was my first experience with the company. I didn't really know what to get so I ordered half a grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup. The food was simply delicious. It was a fresh, tasty little lunch that I am not accustomed to when eating out. Everything was very good, especially the little roll that I was given (which was super fresh). So food wise, this place is amazing. Cleanliness wise, this place was dirty as can be. Crumbs all over the floor and tables as if no one had been through to clean it up in a while. Stacks of trays of food with dirty dishes on the garbage can. Now if they were slammed with business then I could understand them falling behind, but it was pretty slow and there were not that people there. So, food is simply delicious. Cleanliness, eh.

Thank you for your help this morning for breakfast! I need to eat dairy free, my daughter is a newly declared vegan and my son just wanted a breakfast sandwich. You patiently helped us through our choices with a smile. Great coffee to boot!

When we walked in, the cashier was in an in-depth conversation about personal topics with a customer and decided to ignore us until it was finished. She looks at us finally and says "what's up, what can I get you guys". Ok, one "what's up" is unprofessional and it literally caught me off guard. And two, not greeting a customer is such a red flag for the service to come; I've worked in customer service all my life and greeting a customer is one the most important things you can do to ensure your guest feels appreciated and how about.. acknowledged! When we received our food my broccoli soup had a huge black curly hair in it! It was so disgusting, I immediately lost my appetite. I brought it to, I believe the manager and she hurriedly took it away and said shed get me another one. .she left so fast I couldn't even say I didn't want another bowl of OBVIOUSLY CONTAMINATED SOUP. Well about 2 minutes later (obviously it was just another scoop out of the same pot because 2 minutes is not enough time to make a whole new batch) she brought over a small bowl. And asked if I wanted a cookie! Jesus Christ come on! How about acknowledge the soup issue and offer my money back? I was so disturbed I threw every thing away before we left! I'll never come back and I hope they fire whoever seems to be putting pubes in the soup and start giving their front cashiers a lesson on giving great customer service.

The beef is funky. Love the Mac and cheese. Little spendy considering the quality. The atmosphere is blah. One of the employees was creeping on his coworker. The bathrooms were clean. It reminds me of a soccer mom spot. Take what you can get I guess. Better than the fast food alternative across the street.

Only my 2nd time here but the service was fast both times. First time I had pasta and salad that were so good! This time cheddar broccoli soup with the steak sandwich... Yummy! Plus I love the iced coffee!

This was my first time trying out any Panera restaurant, and unless starving again, I probably wouldn't go back. The service was excellent, and the two ladies at the front were very informative and helpful. The food was up really fast which was nice. I had the 1/2 & 1/2 combo with a cup of tomato soup and a turkey BLAT. The ingredients seemed high quality, nice big chunks of turkey and real avocado (not Subway style "spread). It was hard to eat though, and ended up all over the place. On top of that there was nothing really outstanding about it. The soup was good, but again, nothing special and seemed rather salty. My partner's tomato and mozz panini was alright, but overpowered by a huge serving of sun-dried tomatoes. He ended up picking 1/2 of them off. The layout of this place is weird too. The drink area is right across from the trash station, so crowds form waiting to do their thing... in the meantime, the same aisle is where customers are funneled after ordering, and where they pick up food. It was crowded and people were doing a lot of shuffling. I digress... the food just isn't that special, especially considering the price. I paid $10 for a small 1/2 sandwich, and a tiny cup of soup, with a fountain drink on the side. Seems a bit steep for the experience. I like their social mission and how they give back, but there are a lot of better options in Portland for a quick sandwich or some soup and salad.

This review is about the staff. They are friendly, let us meet in peace and have great drinks (food or pastries). I have had pastries a couple times and they are cold (need heated up or something, not the best for sure. What I love is the location and the staff. I have eaten here and the soup was great also....just like every Panera I have tried. A for staff, A for soup C for salad, D for pastries.

I usually dont care for national chains but panera is very good ... had a pecan roll and coffee both were above par and very tasty .... super clean and they serve the coffee in air pots but they write the time that they were filled so you dont pour old cold coffee.

Never been to a Panera before but it was what I expected. Mostly soups, salads, sandwiches, and some basic pasta dishes. The bread was very tasty which is what they are known for I suppose. It was super busy at lunchtime but the food came fairly quickly. Pretty sure the Panini sandwiches are pre-made. A bit on the pricey side but nice comfortable atmosphere. Great if you want a light and tasty lunch!

ok whenever I come across grewt service I like to talk wbout it. Well the crew here is fantastic. First I love the green tea papaya iced. If yiu hwvent tried it you should. But what makes it grewr is thst I asked a cashier the ingredients and she told me. Later I asked if ahe knew what was in it and ahe said why dont I just print you out the ingredients list wnd it will have suggestions on how to make it . She did just that. The ambiance is nice and cozy and a great place to study or work in the evening. Lunch time is crazy

I love panera but this location has not gotten my order correct a single time. Which because of it's location has been a lot of times. Unfortunately there's no other panera nearby. The issues range from forgotten bread, silverware, salad toppings and most recently I ordered frontega chicken however there was little to know chicken. Please don't get me wrong I'm not the hard to please type but this place is poorly managed.

  • Shauna F.

The ingredients are usually very good. The problem I have with Panera is the lack of care and attention to detail when putting my sandwich, panini, or salad. I love real avocado but just one big chunk on the middle of the sandwich makes it very hard to eat. If I order my panini without onion I shouldn't find any. If my friend orders no tomato on her salad (tomato allergy) she shouldn't have to pick several chunks out and take benadryl. Generally good food I would just rather wait another couple minutes for my food to get some attention to detail.

This place does a fine job of filling the rather large gap between Taco Bell and Sanford's that exists in this area. I think you could probably find something for everyone, regardless of their eating restrictions/preferences. Sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes and soups define the bulk of their menu. It's reminiscent of all the 'yuppie delis' that were all the rage in the 80's, minus the oak trim and ferns. Cat had the Greek Salad*, while I had a Steak and White Cheddar Panini. She remarked that the dressing was not very vinegary but in a good way. I felt the same about my panini; it featured horseradish (allegedly) but it was very mild indeed. I'm going to surmise that mild is the watchword in this place. Considering the fact that I was surrounded by multi-generational families and middle aged people, I think they have nailed down a target audience for themselves. If you need bold flavors for your lunch, you might want to keep moving. They also have a counter where they sell breads, rolls, scones, cupcakes and all the usual etc. If you are in this area for lunch, it's worth a shot. *Cat ALWAYS gets the salad. Someday, I'm going to write "Cat captured a squirrel in the parking lot, gutted it with nail clippers, ate the raw pulsating innards and expectorated the intestines" just to see if you are paying attention.

Panera is exactly what this area needs! I was thrilled and trekked out here for my morning coffee to try it out. I had the pumpkin spice latte with a cinnamon crunch scone. So tasty! The next day I was reminiscing of my latte and went back for round 2. Unfortunately, it wasn't as sweet. I was so especially disappointed that my cup was only filled like half full! It was so strange, I actually opened the lid to see if I was crazy, and sure enough, I wasn't this time! I felt a little cheated but I also didn't want to be THAT person to go back and complain. So this time, my cup was half empty, and so was my day.

The food is really good but don't count on their WIFI. The WIFI is pretty slow, slower than my slowed down data package from T-Mobile. The WIFI will kick you off and make you log in all over again if you take too many bites between online actions. If you are just looking for a decent place to eat Panera is fine. If you are looking for a place to eat and a bit of casual internet service between bites, I would suggest you look somewhere else. :-(

When we put our order the girl rushed us through our order so we didn't get a chance to double check it. When we finally found a seat, got our drinks, and looked at the receipt we realized she charged us for a whole sandwich and full order of Mac and cheese when we ordered the half and half. We brought it to the managers attention and she just said sorry that's what you ordered!!! When our food came my sandwich was literally thrown together, I had to take it apart and redo it. My husbands sandwich did not come with the cheese bug did come with a piece of plastic. Again we brought this to the managers attention who said she would take care of it but never did. I understand they were busy but that should not affect the quality of service or food.

Excited to see this location pop up. Haven't really had Panera Bread before as the closest one to me is in East Vancouver and I live on the West side of town. This is a convenient stop on the way home from work in Portland. The place is spacious, very nice decor, great customer service, and the options was more then I expected. I got a couple sandwiches to go, a pasta, and a blueberry scone. So far the food has been excellent and can't wait to try the other items on the menu. I will be back. I noticed someone already beat me to the "1st". :-P I recommend it.

serving garbage now-COLD sandwich at lunch-also my wifes sand wich was ice cold. had high hopes for this place-had a good bowl of oatmeal there recently for am, coffee was OK. tea today was OK. but both our sandwiches were supposed to be grilled. had grill marks on the bread, but ice cold. This Panera does look clean, around Sacramento area several paneras look like white trash lives there. so keep our hopes high for this place.
