Needed a quick and familiar dinner after a 2 hour flight. Our server, Rachel (hope I spelled it right), was very energetic, fun, humorous, and enjoyable to have. She really made the experience great for us. The service she provided was excellent. The food was just as good as we'd expected, too. We really liked that it wasn't salty. The vanilla panna cotta dessert was delicious with a tart berry sauce and we got extra blueberries like we asked. Not a bad place to have a casual dinner. This OG did not disappoint.

I have really nothing bad to say about Olive Garden. The food is pretty good. The service is good. Everything is just good. As far as a chain restaurants are concerned, Olive Garden does a great job. The food is solid.

My boyfriend and I went to this olive garden location fairly late, On valentine's day, they told us it would probably be a fourty minute wait, but we got in within 15 minutes which I found to be quite amazing considering we didn't have any reservations. Chicken. Parmesian with spaghetti was amazing and we had a very nice bottles of moscatto wine. The atmosphere made for a very romantic valentine's date

For all the media jokes aimed at Olive Garden restaurants, and the negative rants, Sweetie and I can't figure out why everyone "hates" this eatery - yet the Gateway store is packed every time we go there! It must be that "ordinary people" such as us enjoy their food, and get great service. We generally order their "special" at the time; Sweetie a seafood version, and myself, a chicken dish. It usually has pasta and sauce with it. But, it's the service and wait staff attitudes that makes a big difference. Don't like to wait an hour for a table? Try their "Call Ahead Seating" - it shaves out most of the wait time for a table. We always get the salad - and usually a second bowl - with extra ripe olives. The servers come through with the olives. And, we have that with a warm, tasty bread stick. Many of their "endless" entree specials are simple, but good tasting. And, their policy of allowing substitutions without hesitation or charge (unless it is an upcharge specified on the menu) is cool. Finally, they ask if you want some to take home (on an "endless bowl" special), after you've finished your entree. For us, it's like getting double the value. On one visit, we did have "confused" service - where the food delivery timing was poor, the food was cold, the up-charge sauce wasn't great - a comedy of errors. But, when the manager came over and inquired about our meal, and learned of the situation, he gladly "made it right" on our check. Oh yes, Sweetie loves their blended strawberry margarita (at an Italian restaurant? Go figure). Another plus. I don't know about their other locations, but the Mall 205 Olive Garden remains on our monthly visit list.

Came to lunch with $5 coupon and had a good lunch but slow service. Luckily the young lady was very nice and trying hard to keep up. She made everything better with a charming personality.

My family went here on Wednesday night for my mother's birthday dinner (her choice). The food was delicious, probably the best I've had from an Olive Garden. The thing that made this trip special was our waiter Shane. He was friendly, helpful, attentive, and absolutely fantastic with my daughter. A+ service from this guy.

I'm from Los Angeles so there are PLENTY of olive gardens where I'm from. I was here in Portland for a half marathon and decided to eat here because I arrived late on my plane. The girl I'm dating and I walk in and the hostess Hannah was super hospitable and friendly. Points right off the bat. She had the best attitude. I'll get back to her later. Miguel was our server. Super cool waiter that was quick and straight to the point. We ordered beer, salad, and some entrees. I had the chicken Toscano and the gf had soup and Alfredo pasta. Miguel brought us endless bread and salad many times. At the end of the meal, I was satisfied. However my date forgot my water bottle I brought into the restaurant. (I know I know, who brings a water bottle into a restaurant!?) The point is that it was a gift and my date INSISTED she hold it for me. After using the restroom I asked if she had my bottle and she replied, "yes." An uber ride later we get back to our hotel and what do you know.... She forgot it! (Ugh!) I instantly thought of Hannah and called back and wouldn't you know she found it sitting on the floor (thanks babe... ) and said she'd hold it for me! Major bonus points for Hannah! Please recognize her. She deserves it. -manny from LA

I have never had a bad review for Olive Garden but I can't believe they forgot to give us bread sticks or salad I made reservations for my mothers birthday and she loves their bread sticks. The waiter was okay he took a while with the order and there wasn't that many people at the restaurant. I saw everyone else was getting breadsticks :/... I can't stress how much we love their bread sticks that's the whole reason we go there.

I've never had a bad experience at any Olive Garden, first and foremost. With that being said, I hadn't tried shrimp in over 21 years but for some reason I wanted to try it last night. I ordered the fettuccine and added shrimp. After one taste, I was done... Nothing to do with the way it was prepared, just that I am not use to the texture and I just didn't like it. No big deal, my lover ate it happily! Our waitress, Danielle, who was EXCEPTIONAL, asked how I liked it and I explained my story of not trying it in 21 years and just that my guy gladly ate it instead.... blah blah blah. Long story short, she spoke to the manager about taking the added shrimp off the bill, without us knowing. The manager took the entire entree off the bill. What? Whoooo does that?! I was so touched and of course NOT expecting that!! She insisted that they just wanted me to be happy. I explained that I was already happy with the food and service and that it was NOT their fault that I ordered the shrimp and didn't like it. Well, she insisted. Shortly after, the manager came out to talk to us. How sweeeetttt!! We shared laughs and I got a chance to thank her from the bottom of my heart for such a kind gesture. She stated that we were family and that they just wanted to make sure we were happy. So KINDDDD! Awesome customer service. Can't wait to return. When you go, ask for Danielle! She anticipated our needs, so much so that I never asked for anything. She was ON ittttt!!! Loved my first experience at this location!! My baby's food was delicious and so was my fettucini.

We arrived here after the lunch rush was over. For Saturday the place was not that busy. Keep in mind that this restaurant shares a parking lot with Red Robin so It can be extremely busy at times and it may be hard to find parking very close to the restaurant. We were seated immediately in a booth at the back of the restaurant. The waiter greeted us almost immediately and beverages were served promptly. Followed by the endless salad we chose instead of soup. The salad included pepperocinis, olives, tomatoes and Italian dressing. It was good except the core of the lettuce was in our bowl which showed lack of prep detail. This came with endless garlic breadsticks which had more garlic butter on them than most Olive Gardens. Nice! We ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo and the citrus chicken sorrento as our entrees. The entrees were served within 10 minutes and were hot, delicious and good size portions, I've included photos. We ordered the lemon cream cake as dessert. The cake was a bit dry than normal but was light and lemony. :-) Our waiter was very good and attentive. Thanks!

My husband and I went there last night for anniversary dinner... They now have iPad sitting at your table where you can order drinks and other goodies and even play games for $1:99... Seriously this was the best dinner night ever:) The bartender was amazing super kind! our server was amazing :-) they even bagged up our doggie bags to take home... All-around experience was super awesome... We will definitely be back...

Though I enjoy regularly their soup and salad. With the recent introductions of ziosk terminals to every table the ambiance has plummeted. TVs in restaurants is highly annoying and this raises it to a while new level. I will be eating on patio or finding a quiet cafe instead. I cannot imagine who at corporate could imagine that when trying to simulate a Italian theme could imagine a electronic gadget on every table on my next trip to Italy.

I've never had a issue going to this OG location. Service was quick, staff were nice, food is good. We usually order carryout so I don't deal with the wait and that works for us. We normally order the soup/salad/breadsticks...never disappointing.

Food is good just the same as any Olive Garden the big difference was our server Jessy B. He was amazing. There were 5 of us at dinner and even though he was busy he still took great care of us. Great attitude, the GM also stopped by the table and was awesome too!

The good : I went here for my anniversary with my fiance. We had been planning to go for so long and finally got around to it so we were really excited. The food has always been excellent and high quality and HUGE portions. We spent around 50$ for two large entrees, three appetizers, drinks, dessert (which ended up being free but I will get to that soon), and of course we got endless soup, salad, and bread sticks! The manager also came by the table a few times to see how our meal was which was nice and welcoming despite the other service we received. The frusrating : the waitress that seated us walked us through the restaurant, passing by nice open tables and booths, to the back of the restaurant in a corner by the emergency exit door away from everything else to what seemed like maybe over-flow seating? Even though the place was not crowded.. It was terribly lit and just very uncomfortable. Enough so that I actually asked her if we could get a booth. I pointed to one that was clean and set in the middle of the restaurant. She hesitated and gave me a funny look. She then proceeded to call someone on her little ear piece and asked, "uhm.... i guess, could we maybe get this couple a different table..?" I dont understand why it was a problem or something she had to consult with someone else. We were paying customers on our anniversary and wanted a nice table. But Yes, in the end, we did get our booth. The Waiter..: He was nice at first. While I was ordering something I guess I was scratching my nose and he couldnt hear me. He then proceeded to mock the movement I was doing and make a mocking mumbled whine which I guess was supposed to be an impression of me. He loudly said something along the lines of "I can't hear your when youre doing this." When he walked away, I was so embarrassed, I started crying my eyes out. My Fiance immediately told him to apologize to me the second he came back and he knew exactly what he did and started apologizing to me and giving me his excuse for acting that way. "The restaurant is loud you have to speak up." In the end, we got 14$ of free dessert and lots of food to take home. We left an OK tip...

Excellent tableside service but I don't know what all the fuss is about otherwise. I ordered a new item on the menu. Smokey mozzarella pasta with chicken. There was very little chicken on this pasta dish. For what I paid for this dish and all the salad and breadsticks I could eat, I was frankly disappointed. Sure the breadsticks for fresh and flavorful. The salad was nothing to rave about but it was adequate. The only remarkable thing about my experience was the company that I was with and the table service. I didn't know what all the fuss is about going to the Olive Garden. I know they must been a lot of money on marketing but quite frankly I really don't have a reason to go back after this experience certainly not for the food.

Employees smoking outside in the front of the building. Pee all over the bathroom floor. Funky grime under all the computers and registers. Garbage and wrappers on the floor. Parmasean cheese everywhere! Watched the busser clean two tables with a half dry dirty rag. I told the manager what I saw. Unfortunately, competition is tight around this area so not sure if I'll come back. If I do, I'll be looking for these things! Can't imagine how gross the kitchen is.

Olive Garden is Olive Garden. You've been to one you've been to em' all; however, this particular restaurant offered the most atrocious service I've ever experienced. The server was so rude, had a horrible attitude, and was not accommodating in any way, shape or form. We walked out, out of sheer frustration and will NEVER give this company our business again. If you do eat here and you're seated with a male server, short blonde hair, tattoo sleeve, I suggest you just walk out immediately.

Food is good, not great, but always hot. For food grade would be 4. Service when you eat there is very good. It even seems sincere. Alas phone service is very poor. Part of the problem is that the headset the wait staff uses picks up part of their music so while on hold they come in and off like static. Can't tell when they are back talking to you. Since my wife was at home and I wanted to get her something she likes...I has to go in to order Norther Tour, soup....waited 20 minutes. It was hot.

Fabulous experience!!! Our moms 96th birthday was exceptional! Jobe, our waiter was unbelievable!! 10 stars!! Attentive, pleasant, personable and knowledgeable! The manager actually seated us - looking chic in her chefs coat. She too, was extremely pleasant. The food was actually brilliant!! We had a very diverse order and we all had bites of each other's - YUM!! Dessert, resplendent w a birthday candle, was extraordinary! We ordered the little donut bites w caramel, chocolate and raspberry sauce! Our family has never been a fan of 'chain' restaurants...this Olive Garden has change our view!

Not much to say about this place. Worst experience ever than any other places. We ordered our food, and waiting for it almost 50mn without any drink or salad breadstick. We decided to let the manager knows and walk away. The manager did not say anything lol. I quess manager these days just no clue to be a good one. Not go there ever again.

My friend and I went here the other day and Carl was our waiter. He was awesome. He was very welcoming and knowledgable. I've never had bad service at this location before but I've also never had such a good waiter I would remember the waiter/waitress' name. We got our food and drinks promptly and he totally made our OG experience rock.

My first visit to this particular location was today. I went with my sister and my niece . There was a bad start with an unfortunate service issue. Thanks to the manager Alan and wait person excellence by the name of Adam, our visit was salvaged and we left very happy. The food as always was excellent. Two thumbs up for an excellent recovery. We will be back!!

I usually enjoy my experience at Olive Garden but today just didn't live up to my expectations. Upon walking in we were barely greeted. We walked up to the host station and the hostess said nothing. So I said "two please" and she said there would be a short wait. We sat down and one of her coworkers came up to her and she said something along the lines of "I need a fucking break" beautiful. I went to use the restroom and my friend was seated while I was in there. When I came out I had to find him on my own. Our waitress came up with a pissed off look on her face and barely greeted us. She simply asked what we would like to eat. I ordered mine and my friend ordered his. He was having difficulty pronouncing "gnocchi" and the waitress said "excuse me?" In a rude tone. So he just pointed at the menu. I was obviously still reading my menu and she asked if I was done with it in an annoyed voice. So I let her take it. We quickly received our soup salad and bread. But the waitress placed out food down carelessly. She dropped one of the straws on the ground and then proceeded to pick it up and place it back on the table. At that point I was over it. I made a comment to my friend who was working there that day about our waitress. Next thing you know she comes back and tells us we are getting a new person who can better suit our needs, whatever that means. The manager then came over and tried to help. She brought back our table menu and we didn't see her again even though she told us to let her know if we need anything. Our food was good but the service here left a bad taste in my mouth. It's disappointing to order endless pasta and not be able to enjoy it. We paid and left. A simple apology and change of attitude from our server could have turned this experience around completely. This is the first bad experience I have had at this location. I usually come to this one because I have had great experiences here compared to the clackamas location.

I do not typically eat at Olive Garden nor do I live in the area. I came in with 11 people from 3-93, it was what everyone could agree on. I called in and we got call ahead seating. I got attitude from the hostess about how many people I called in about, and she made a big fuss about adding another chair. Please don't correct me, just add the chair (when we got to the table there were 12 chairs btw). The servers even were standing awkwardly counting out loud and pointing before greeting us, I promise, there were 11. Whatever. The service was a little clunky. The food was ok, my ravioli was a little dried out. As always the break sticks and salad were awesome. I did not pick the restaurant. Perhaps this would have been a 3 star review if someone else had talked with the unpleasant hostess.

I was here a few days ago with my two very small children. I was by myself and my kids were tired and grumpy after a long few days of traveling to Portland. The server was a God-send. He entertained the kids by flipping dishes (which made my son giggle non-stop), packed up the food at the speed of lightning when my kids starting to get tired, threw in a bunch of chocolate mints (he could tell it was THAT kind of day with the kids) in the to-go bag, and got the check out in a few, short minutes. Thank you SO much for making my night so easy - this was seriously the best service I've ever received!

I got takeout from Olive Garden a while back, I hadn't eaten there in a long time and had a gift card. I wasn't feeling much like eating out, so opted to try their To-Go ordering. At the the time they had their 12.95 three-course dinners going on, we chose 2 meals and shared them both, usually that's how we do. It appeared most things on the 12.95 menu were not typically on the regular menu, but that was cool with us. Since we don't eat here often anyway, we were just happy to be using the gift card and getting a free meal. :) With that being said, we was pleasantly surprised. This ish was SO good. It was so much food, I just kept eating and eating and eating. I think I may have finished my husbands meal as well, as I am pregnant and tend to put it away! ha. Anyway, the meals come with lil baby desserts as well, which just topped off the whole dinner. I would definitely do this again if the meal deal thingy comes back around. Great price for decent food, and take out is the way to go!

I'm not big on chain restaurants, but this specific Olive Garden at 205 is the best I've seen. The food is about the same at most Olive Gardens, delicious pasta and great bread sticks. But the food alone would never make me go throw up a 5 star review. I've had two experiences there with awesome wait staff. The first time I was there, with my family of mom dad, 7 year old girl with special needs & 5 year old active boy, there was a waiter that could throw plates. Ask for Adam if you want a fun experience. Then tonight our waitress was the sweetest girl named Hope. Our daughter likes to play restaurant at home and told us she wanted to be a waitress and work at Olive Garden when she grew up. Hope thought that was great and asked her name. Then after dinner sent my daughter home with an Olive Garden button turned into a name tag & a special gift. It really made my daughter's night. Thanks guys!

Servers are the most attentive I've ever had anywhere, prices are good, food is delicious. The dining rooms are a small, intimate setting, so don't be tacky and ask for the servers to sing happy birthday, interrupting everybody else's meal. The Italian margaritas are pretty good.

Your typical Olive Garden....the food is a little spendy but always good. Decent service and good drinks. I usually get the same thing, Capellini Pomodoro, and it is consistently good. The Pasta Fagioli soup is the best!

Hadn't been to an Olive Garden in 20 years. Now I remember why, let's start with the salad, you don't serve the white parts of green Romain lettuce, and I mean there were a lot of ends. The server was bored out of his mind, he just didn't want to be there. After he served the mediocre food, (Campbell's is better) he just disappeared, never asked how the food was, never asked if we wanted more tea or wine. However he did get the bill there, and cleaned the table off and dropped six pieces of candy from a height that they were broken when we opened them. Never have I left such a small tip ( in fact should have left none.) overall the place is clean, and they have nice friendly greeters, but other than that all I can say is I'm 73 yrs old and it will be another 20 yrs. before I go again. I hope the manger sees this post. Not only that, had a busy morning, if your following me b

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I have done this location a few times...every time I go back is to give them another change till NOW. Service is horrible...they always take to long to service our table...the server is not very kind....I am sure they have a few good people at this location. Unfortunately, we always tend to get the "not so great" individuals. I will never go back.

It's Olive Garden so I am basing my review that you know this isn't like a crazy authentic Italian restaurant that is gonna knock your socks off. For what this place is, is good. Unlimited Bread-sticks, Unlimited Soup or Salad. Always a plus, love the sticks. The alfedo dipping sauce is awesome to go with them. The deserts are good, just wish they were around $5 instead of $8ish because they are great too. Above all, one complaint I have never had here is the service. It is always top notch. Food 3.5 stars, atmosphere 4, service 4.5, overall a solid 4.

I really enjoy the salad and soups here. For my personal tastes I have to add salt to every entree I have ever gotten here. The chocolate mouse cake is really decedent and yummy. I will continue to go back if for nothing else the soups and salad.

I love Olive Garden, but would go without if this was the only location near me. I have had several distasteful visits to this location. By distasteful, I mean the service, not the food. The food was fabulous, but the service was horrible. The waitresses are not very polite, to say the least and will leave you unattended at your after your order has been placed and your food has been brought to the table. You might be lucky to receive a refill on your beverage before you are brought your check. I probably will not be returning!

Along the same lines of Pastini, Macaroni Grill etc. Basically lean cuisine with a little more flavor. Seems like all the food is just pre-cooked frozen and reheated up. Not trying to hate but I just am not a big fan. I guess if you eat enough bottomless breadsticks, or salad you will be ok. I would rather go to macaroni grill any day.

Olive Gardens as a whole get a 4-star rating. Yummy, yummy Chicken Alfredo Pizza . . . mmmmmm . . . Oh yeah, review. This one just is a bit off. I liked our waiter this time around, but I haven't in the past. He tried a bit too hard this time, but he was trying. The food at this location is never as good as anywhere else. Something is always overcooked or dry or bland here. If you like Olive Garden as a rule, it will be okay, but if you can - go to a different one.

I went to Olive Garden with my Mom & Sister for my Sisters birth day. It was pretty good. Bread sticks were awesome and plentiful. Good with a side of Marinara Dipping Sauce. The Italian Salad was also yummy. I had Chicken Alfredo. Delish. My Mom had Cannoli stuffed with Cheese topped with Steak topped with Parmesan crust in a White Cream sauce. Also delish. My Sister had Lasagna. It was a huge portions and looked delicious as well. Even my niece had some bread. She loved it but not as much as Raspberry Cheesecake. Nice place. plenty of tables and ample parking.

We go here once in a while, usually when the never-ending soup/salad or never-ending pasta deal are offered. It all comes with salad and bread. The last time I went is to treat my brother's family. We ordered from the regular menu. It was his wife's birthday, and this is her favorite restaurant. For starters: My brother and sis-in-law shared Bruschetta appetizer. I ordered Shrimp Scampi. For dinner entree: Sis-in-law: Beef & Tortelloni, green tea Brother: Eggplant Parmigiana, glass of wine My order: Chicken Parmigiana, iced water The food is enjoyable and delicious as always. The waiter is nice and attentive. I can see why my sis-in-law always wants to come here. At this time of the year, the never-ending pasta is again being offered. See you soon, Olive Garden.

Soup, salad, and BREAD STICKS ! You can never ever go wrong with that lunch special. All you can eat of those three items, and for two people it was only $17. So delicious. I have an obsession with their bread sticks and their chicken gnocchi soup. Such a delicious soup! Yum yum yum! Our service was really good. A guy named Joseph who was working the bar and our table at the same time was very good. He refilled our drinks before they were completely empty and engaged us in conversation while serving us. Always enjoy good service. I liked this Olive Garden and writing about it makes me want to go get my left over bread sticks out of the fridge!

This review will be more about the service. Most of us know what Olive Garden food tastes like - it's good, standard American fare that says it's Italian. But yummy nonetheless. Went to Olive Garden last night after work with some coworkers and arrived during the dinner rush. The wait wasn't terrible and we were seated by a friendly hostess. Our server, Kenny, was friendly. Now, I understand that our server was probably under a great deal of pressure to move people through in order to seat others waiting, so I'm not sure I can really fault him. We ordered drinks and appetizers, all of which came within 6 minutes, ALONG WITH OUR FOOD and breadsticks, and salad. So, instead of being able to enjoy appetizer and wine while waiting for our food, we were bombarded with everything all at once. Okay, we'll roll with it and arrange all plates in a jigsaw fashion on the table. About halfway through our entrees, the server comes to ask if we would like anything boxed up...I was literally moving a forkful of eggplant to my mouth. No, nothing boxed up at the moment, thanks - still eating. When we did ask for boxes, he returned to box up the food and asked if we were done with the spinach dip appetizer WHILE MY HAND WAS DIPPING BREAD INTO THE DIP. No, I am not done. He literally came back two minutes later with some more boxes and TOOK THE DIP OFF THE TABLE without asking. We were not done. He left the bill. Came back two minutes later asking if he could take care of the bill. No, we are not ready yet. Three minutes later: asking if he can take care of the bill. We decided to move the check over to the wall so he would stop asking. We sat there for another half hour finishing our drinks and chatting, partly because we wanted to chat, and partly because we were rebelling against the pressure. Seriously, I felt like I was in a speed competition for finishing a meal. I did not feel comfortable and as though I could enjoy my time. Olive Garden 205, please watch out for this. Definitely makes me not want to return.

So for a chain, I'm going to have to say that this Olive Garden has stellar customer service. Greeted at the entry immediately, and even though there was a wait, they had comfy furniture, so I was okay with it. Our server was nice and conversational. She had the uncanny knack for being there when we needed her, and not coming by every 5 minutes to see if we needed anything (which drives me insane). I had their lemon cream cake, and it was okay. Not as lemony as I had hoped and the filling was dull and practically flavourless. I am a fan of their zuppa toscana soup, but their dessert was lacking. Good service, poor dessert, mediocre coffee.

Food was AMAZING. Can't say much about the service though. It mostly depends on who you have. Our waitress brought the wrong food but she was actually very nice about it. The hostesses were a little snooty though. :/

I love their endless soup and salad! I enjoy eating here because i love their Zuppa Toscana endless soup and garden salad that comes w/your entree! It comes with tons of bread sticks and you can always ask for more! Their main entrees are fairly decent, I usually order the Tour of Italy, but i put my own spice to it by changing my order slightly. They usually have new things on their menu monthly so you're not constantly getting tired of seeing the same old thing. I highly recommend ordering their Lemon Cream Cake for dessert, it is so delicious! It literally melts in your mouth and it taste so fresh and light. Definitely not heavy like most cakes! As for the service, its fairly decent. They tend to hire teenagers and kids in their 20's so I don't expect high quality service for the price they provide. I must admit the hostess/host could be more friendlier, but as long as my server is attentive and checks on me frequently I could care less who greets me in front. They have a wonderful outside dining area, even though the view isn't very pretty (its off a busy street), but the fact that they have one is better than none at all. I enjoy having the sun in my face when i'm eating and the way its set-up, it blocks a lot of the wind so that my hair isn't flying into my plate. This is a great place to eat if you're looking for fairly decent italian food. Its not a mom & pop's place since its a chain so don't expect any uniqueness.

My little girl and I had a lovely Sunday dinner here tonight. The waiter was very polite, funny, and attentive during the entire evening. The food was alright, love the breadsticks and zuppa soup as always.

I felt a little awkward as I walked through the door because two ladies were looking at me in a fairly uncomfortable way. Was it because my flip flips didn't match my outfit? o_O My friend and I were seated promptly. Our server was very nice and friendly. He promptly took our drink orders and gave us enough time to study the menu before taking our orders. My salad came out rather quickly. The salad was cold and quite fresh. The chopped ends were dry but not to the point where it's bitter. Served in a fairly big bowl and a chilled plate. I didn't have trouble tossing the salad without having it end up on the table. The salad was big for a dinner size. It was enough for 2 people, maybe even 3, or a meal by itself. The Stuffed Mushroom appetizer took a while like our server told us so. It was very flavorful. Lots of cheese. Kind of dinky (especially for the price). A bit too heavy and oily for my taste. I think they were swimming in melted butter. I really liked my Eggplant Parmagiana. The fried eggplant slices were surprisingly not oily and there are just enough for the amount of pasta. There wasn't enough marinara sauce though, I think. Service was good. Our server was running around a lot but he's always smiling and asked how we were doing every time he came to our table.

I am a restaurant owner and i understand how important customer service is. This location is the worst I have ever been to. We had reservations yet we got our table late. We had to ask for water 3 times. We got two bottles of wine but no wine glasses?? And to top it off we had one person of our 11 ppl party showed up 5min after 10 ( we have already ordered food for him ) but they wouldn't let him in. Company safety policy ?? Then the manager says I will lose my job if we let him in 5 min late. With all do respect you are a customer service manager and your job is to make those decision to make the party happy , too bad your managing skills are so poor that you made 11 happy customers very upset on such a valuable event. Thumbs up to your safety policy !!!

I've been hitting up this location more frequently because I've been having swollen jaw issues and subsisting on a diet of soups. Their endless soup and salad combo is probably my favorite - the pasta e fagioli is so scrumptious. I've never found another pasta or Italian soup that rivals it. In fact, I can't remember a time in the last five years where I went to OG and DIDN'T order the soup and salad. Maybe it happened, but at least my last four visits have all been for the soup. :) The service can be rather spotty, but in the last week I've had some of the best restaurant service at this particular location. Super quick, efficient, pleasant and attentive. We tipped extremely well both times. Sure, I know it's a chain restaurant and opposed to everything that Portland should be. But if Portland could offer up a restaurant close to my office with unlimited amounts of pasta e fagioli and soft, warm breadsticks to rival OGs, I'd be there in a heart beat. Turns out there isn't anywhere else like that.

We called in for call ahead seating, and the person on the phone was less than friendly. However, when we told the manager Scott, he gave us free appetizers and gift cards for a return visit. The servers, Christina and Guillermo, were very friendly and efficient. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

I have always been a fan of OG. The food is good and a I feel that I get a good value for my money. It's not the world's best Italian food but it still tastes good.

So of course I've been to Olive Garden many times and normally food based for me it gets 4 stars. The service put my visit to this nice Portland location over the top! It was top notch from the hostess to the sever and everything Inbetween! Everyone went above and beyond normal services to make sure I had a good meal in a timely fashion! Got the never ending pasta bowl and like usual quality was great!

Wait staff very friendly...They were trying extra hard to please due to current web reviews. Didnt change the fact that the food tastes like frozen premade dinners. The soup and salad was their best dish in my opinion.

I have loved the Olive Garden for years. Its one of my favorite places to eat. It is always very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is so yummy (at least I think so). I went there just the other night with my husband. At first I was a little annoyed because it took a while to get our soup, then when we got our soup, after only a few bites, our dinner arrived. It was hot so we had time to eat our soup while it cooled down. At the end of the meal my husband decided or order a desert. The waiter said it was on him since we got our dinner so close to when we got our soup. I thought it was very nice since we didn't even say anything about it.

We love this place for take out. Quick, good, decently priced food. The Sopa Tuscana is to die for!!! Not worth the wait, unless you are there for the bottomless soup and salad. Don't go there on the weekends...its crazy!

The service is great here and so is the food. I love their chicken Alfredo pizza. Its a great place to celebrate any occasion or just a casual meal. They even give you seconds for bread sticks, salads or soup. The best part is switching the soups. If you want a different type of soup for seconds, you get it. I always feel i got a little more food than what i paid for. Love this place and definitely recommend it.

We went there last night to celebrate a birthday. We had a reservation and got our table late. There was so many problems with missing water at the table and not getting enough wine glasses but to top it off when the last person out of 11 of us showed up at 10:05 p.m they said that they can not let him in 5 minutes past closing time due to safety measures! Seriously?! Such terrible service from this restaurant! Never go there!

Food is not amazing, but it's good. The service I got today was impeccable. I don't remember it being that good before, but I left totally impressed. Even though my food wasn't amazing. I don't feel like it was terribly expensive though either. I'd be happy to go back if they had more healthier options.

ACK!!! I remeber when I was a teenager and I thought Olive Garden was a classy place!! Hahahah... Maybe it really was back then or maybe it is just different out on the East coast. But I haven't been there for at least a year and my usual favorite dish in now disgusting. I had the portobello stuffed raviolis and though the sauce is still pretty much the same, the filling is horrid. I barely had any mushroom texture and tasted really floury. Plus the place just looks so ghetto... I don't know if it is just this one branch but this may as well be a dumpy old diner, from the way it looks. I'm not saying I won't ever go back to OG... Italian food is expensive and my husband really loves eggplant parmigiana, which many other places don't make. But I definitely won't go back to this branch, and I won't be ordering my ex favorite dish.

The best value, I believe, for my family. The bottomless salad is good for what it is. The breadsticks are tasty. And the entree's are quite satisfactory. Although the prices have risen, you get more bang for your buck here. My kids absolutely love this place and they even eat as much salad as they can. And thats what really matters. We will always look forward to eating at the Olive Garden!

I've worked in restaurants all my life. 10 different establishments in 3 states, as a server, busser and a cook. and i just don't get why so many people pick on the olive garden! obviously it isn't really as bad as the media says or there wouldn't be so damn many of them. Darden has their shit together. sure it not gonna blow you away. but its better than chilli's or sizzler! and at a comparable price. you get what you pay for, rule of life. and for all of its flaws this place is better than many. if you want immaculate service with a perfectly prepared meal you'll be paying three times what you pay here. and if you can't do that? FUCKING MAKE IT YOURSELF! I swear, this whole attitude of "the customer is always right" has been around for so long now that consumers are actually starting to believe it! turns out, sometimes even socially retarded people....go out to eat. don't believe everything you read!

I came with a walk-in group of 9, because we needed food close to our hotel, and I can't help but feel as though we were written off from the start. The hostesses were awesome and funny and joked around with us and tolerated us taking a metric ton of photos in the lobby, but as soon as we were seated the service got cold quickly. Our table was large enough to receive an autograt, and I think one of our table's servers realized that was all they were likely to receive, after she spilt a glass of Dr. Pepper which got all over two of my friends' clothes. Nothing was comped, not even the soda, a manager wasn't sent over to apologize or anything like that. It was bizarre. We overlooked it and went on with the meal. It was a very awkward, minimal service experience. Admittedly, as the majority of our table were from a different country, and therefore were unaccustomed to a lot of restaurant dining practices, this was a "learning experience," for many. I'll admit some of my friends may have behaved in a way that I personally find offensive, as a server [raising a glass above the head to get a server's attention for a refill, etc.] but even in situations like that as a server it is a given you will take that as an indicator for a refill, not ignore the person flailing with the glass, no matter how irritating you find their action [note: I did push his hand down as soon as I figured out what was going on, but before that happened, the server saw his indication and ignored it]. The food was fine, but the fact that we were not given the normal level of service I expect from the Olive Garden chain, likely because we were a table of young people who could be autogratted, means that when we return to Portland we won't return to this OG.

OK. OK. I know I'm not supposed to like the OG. I know that I should mock it for being another restaurant that has ruined the culinary landscape of this country. But here's the thing: I like it. Is it the best Italian I've ever had? Of course not, but it's good enough and it's CHEAP. The night we were there we got a sample of the house white wine. It tasted uncannily like the chardonnay I get for $4 a bottle at Fred Meyers, but it's good stuff. I wouldn't order a whole glass, but it was a nice touch. If you are looking for a good alcoholic beverage, I would recommend the peach Bellini. It's nothing like an actual Bellini, but it's tasty. It's kind of like Jamba Juice when the shutters are drawn. Our waiter was great. He was personable, accommodating, and on top of things. As for the food, there's only one real option: the Never Ending Pasta Bowl. Unlimited bread sticks that are so soft on the inside and has a really great flavor on the outside. Choice of unlimited soup -- a fantastic minestrone or two others that are meaty (I didn't pay much attention to these) -- or salad -- their great Italian dressing, pepperincini, olives, onion and tomatoes. If you go with someone else, I suggest getting a soup and a salad. Score. Finally, you get unlimited pasta. Each time you finish a bowl you an get another combo. Here's a tip, ask for the second serving portion first. The first portion is just too big. Also, our waiter was cool with packing up our second bowl pasta untouched. Basically, two meals for under $10. So I stand tall. I proudly will declare: I like Olive Garden.

I love to eat out, and I love Olive Garden. I even loved the food at this visit, but that's not why I'm writing this review. I took my daughter to Olive Garden for her birthday a few weeks ago. We were greeted promptly at the door by the hostess and put on the waiting list. The wait was very short even though they were quite busy. It was around 6pm. Our table was next to the main isle, so there was quite a bit of traffic going by, which was understandable. Our server was friendly and helpful, but not quite as attentive as the service I have usually experienced there. Perhaps the slow service was not due to anything the server did, but due to how busy the kitchen was. For the third time now, an Olive Garden server offered my daughter wine without carding her. She is not 21. Perhaps they didn't card her because she was with me and I am very clearly old enough? Maybe they would have carded her if she accepted the offer? The wait to order was longer than usual, and there was also a longer than usual wait to get our salad, bread, and appetizer, but when it finally came it was delicious. Dinner was also very good. I split my food as soon as it came to save room for desert. I like how they box the leftovers up for you instead of having you do it yourself. They brought the check right after we ordered dessert, which was nice, and closed it out and brought it back in a timely manner too. Even though I sometimes like to sit and chat, I hate waiting for a check. The deserts are very good! I have tried them all and not found any I did not like, but my favorite is the chocolate lava cake. It's very soft and light with just the right amount of sweetness. My daughters favorite is the Raspberry cheesecake, which is even better than Cheesecake factory. When we were about half way through desert, as I was debating whether or not to try and finish or take the rest home or neither, suddenly a tray full of empty wine glasses flew over my shoulder onto my plate, shattering loudly. Broken glass was EVERYWHERE. Everyone in the entire restaurant was staring at us. It was very embarrassing. The glass was in my blouse, in my drink, on my daughters plate, in my shoes, and even on the table all the way across the isle. I had a tiny cut on my neck and on my foot. I have high blood pressure so when I get startled like that it goes quite high and causes me to feel ill. I was noticeably shaking. The person carrying the tray was extremely apologetic, as was the manager and the people who came immediately to start cleaning it up. Everyone was still staring at us which was quite embarrassing, and of course all the employees asked if we were OK. We couldn't stay and finish our visit which was a huge disappointment as we didn't really have any other place to go hang out. I felt like they should have replaced our desserts and our sodas, but they seemed pretty anxious to get us out of there so they could clean up. As we started removing glass from our clothes and hair, I asked our server if they would replace my daughters desert in a to-go box because she had not even eaten half. She said sure and brought it quickly, but didn't offer to replace mine or our drinks. When she brought it, she said "Boy you made out like bandits getting a free dessert!" I was still very shaky at the time and just wanted to get out of there, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt offended by her comment. I think they should have offered to comp part of our meal for ruining my daughters birthday celebration. But at the very least, the comment was inappropriate because I PAID for the dessert that they ruined, and they only replaced it only because I asked. Ironically, there was a survey invitation on the receipt, so I went online and filled it out, thinking I might get a phone call or email apology too, but there was no response at all. Then I checked my credit card statement to see if maybe they comped part of our check, but they had not. I am extremely fair minded and didn't want anything for free, but this is way below the quality of service that I have come to expect from Olive Garden. I think we'll be celebrating elsewhere from now on.

We called in for call ahead seating, and the person on the phone was less than friendly. However, when we told the manager Scott, he gave us free appetizers and gift cards for a return visit. The servers, Christina and Guillermo, were very friendly and efficient. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Thanks!

All-around experience was super awesome... We will definitely be back...

It was hot.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
