I have walked past McPeet's on many occasion since living here in Beaumont-Wilshire but never had the opportunity to venture in. A neighborhood bar with a decent burger. It was walking past and smelling the grilled meat that made me finally go on in. I got there right at happy hour (4-7pm) and my pint of Pyramid Red Ale was only $3.75. There were several at the bar but for the most part the tables were all empty. Slowly the place started filling up. I got my food order in prior to the people coming in. I ordered the Brunch Burger. $9. A burger with lettuce, red onion, special sauce, bacon and a fried egg with fries. The burger was not bad. They seasoned it up great and the sauce was pretty good too. The burger was a little more done than I usually like and the egg, which I thought would either be sunny side or over easy so the yolk could run, was over well and got lost on the burger. The fries were good and they had "Fry Sauce" on the table which was a kicked up Thousand Island dressing with, I think, some horseradish in it. The place looked like a typical bar with bar signage, more burgers, sandwiches, a the usual app suspects on the menu and a dive feel to it. I like it, and I could see relaxing with a frosty beverage here more often. Enjoy.

I love this little neighborhood bar. They have a great beer selection, stiff well drinks and always have the sound up when The Blazers are playing!

This place is kind of a shit hole. It's pretty small and cramped inside, they got a few benches out front to sit on during the good weather. The bartenders seem to dote on the regulars from the neighborhood a little too much, and if they haven't seen you before or don't recall you, you get a little bit of a stand off-ish vibe from em'. Here's a tip gang, maybe not every last bartender/ server on call in any given night should be freshly smoked out on weed, that way you can at least maintain some kind of sham of a reality that you are a legit, functioning bar with semi-professional employees. Also, the servers/ bartenders (either once they've just gotten off or are about to clock in) probably should be discouraged by their boss to not hang around work smoking cigs outside drinking and spouting off about every last political stance and moral inclination that have, it just puts regular people off, people that may have money in their pockets and are ready to spend it at a bar on food & drink, i.e. myself. A better option in this area is to just drive by and hit up a actual restaurant (of which there are many in this area, cause the food sucks here too, all comes out of a deep fryer or burgers off the cook top) or a legit dive bar down in further NE portland. Sorry McPeets, Ya Blew It!!!

The neighborhood pub. I like it, there are tables outside to hangout in the summer, and its nice inside to watch baseball/soccer too. They always have a game on one of the screens. The food is bar food, but they usually have a nice selection of Oregon beer to choose from. The service is always great when I go in, and everything just feels... pleasant? Also pool there is only a quarter a play. Can't beat that really. Its my favorite place on Fremont to drink, it is an easy place to feel at home.

I go to McPeets when I want one or more of the following: a. to drink and watch sports b. to drink and pretend like i'm watching sports c. to eat mozzarella sticks d. a place I can walk to and walk (stumble?) home

The burger is great and they always seem to have a good selection of beers on tap so I can forgive the occasionally disinterested bartenders who prefer to chit chat with the regulars than tend bar. Seems like a hangout for the recently of-age neighborhood crowd who can be a bit obnoxious after their kickball matches. Unfortunately, the last time we tried to watch the Blazer game we were informed that we'd have to do so without sound since Monday Night football was on. Really? We need to hear Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati over Mike and Mike? I guess y'all forgot you have a neon "Ripcity" sign out front. Disappointing, but we'll come back once football season is over.

McPeets. On warm nights, you provide picnic tables and booze and nice bartenders. On Chilly nights, the atmosphere is inviting, fun and reliable. Jenga! Close to home. Unpretentious. Cheap. Nice.

Decent beer selection. Typical bar food. Can get crowded at times. Staff is generally friendly.

I'm saving that last star for when I try the food, but so far I'm loving this neighborhood joint. The bartender was great and the beer was cold and didn't taste like it was being poured from taps that haven't been cleaned in ages. The place is super clean and noticeably tidy and warm, but still very pub-ish. I'm looking forward to making this my regular bar. We are fairly new to the neighborhood and still trying to find our favorite spots. This is one of them! Thank you for being so nice and for taking such good care of your customers!

As I live right down the street, I've come here on many an occasion. It is unpretentious, has games [video games, pool, AND board games], and it never really that busy. The service is OK.. never particularly friendly, sometimes have to wait while the bartender is at the end of the bar chatting to a friend, but never been particularly BAD service. Typical drinks and prices, typical greasy bar food... just a good go-to place. Oh yeah... and the sign is awesome.

Cool little neighborhood (not my neighborhood) bar that some friends and I stopped into to have a few pitchers and catch the end of one of the March madness games. Seemed like it would be a cool place to have in my neighborhood, but sadly it isn't. Unless I moved to this neighborhood which I don't think will be happening anytime soon. Goodnight.

Revamped local dive bar that now has some flavor to it. They have a sleek tin bar top and cool tables throughout. The beer is extra cold from the new tap system they just got. The beer and alcohol selection is pretty good, always rotating. Although I do wish they would keep Mac & Jacks flowing all the time. The bathrooms could use a little work. Their food menu has drastically improved and I really enjoy a couple of the new items. The outside seating is great for people watching in the summer

I heart McPeets. A short bike ride from our hood, McPeets is our destination for a Saturday and/or Sunday afternoon drink and/or drinks. They recently upgraded from plastic seating out front to new wood benches with umbrella's! So fancy. The foot and car traffic on Fremont is consistent and entertaining. Th sign is probably the best thing about McPeets. Classic and cool.

Oh such a great dive. Always friendly service. Great beer selection. Not the best menu, but the very best company. They have a couple video games and pool.

The best thing about McPeet's is the incredible neon sign that guides you right to the door. I love the unpretentiousness of this little bar and think I'll be dropping in soon.

Terrible. The bartender completely ignored us for 10 minutes. The bar was empty save for her and two of her friends. My companion finally went to the bar and got us our beers. The bartender did not even know what her taps were pouring even though she was standing right in front of them. After she poured our beers, she sat down at one of the gaming machines and ignored us some more. We ended up just leaving some money on the table in the amount we estimated to be the cost. The bad country music soundtrack playing in the bar didn't help either. With a little help, this could be a great regular ol' watering hole which is the kind of place this neighborhood needs. The atmosphere is dive, with gaming machines and sports TV on. This place could be great but the service crushed the experience for me. It's the worst service I've had in years.

First off I loved the look of this place. The old school sign out front made it seem like the type of place your dad would grab a beer after a 10 hour shift at the factory. It's a nice little corner place with a classic feel that makes for a comfortable spot to drink beer and bullshit with friends. On the other hand, the service was fairly lousy. My empty glass sat on the bar for 5 minutes before I was offered a re-fill. The bartender seemed more interested in chatting up regulars and watching ESPN. When I did get a fresh beer the glass was never poured full. I'll go back to McPeets for a post-shift brew now and then, I just hope the service is a little friendlier.

This place is great for watching a game or just dropping in for a pint. Great family owned spot in the Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood.

We have had Moms' Night Out here on Thursdays for about 4 years now, but it's getting too young for us. We still hang on by a thread all the same, but not as often. I still love it. I am sad I might be considered "The Mom" of the crowd most nights at only 36 years old...but I can deal with it for cheap beer and their AMAZING french fries. NEVER forget to ask for the Fry Sauce. Who cares if it's just mayo, ketchup and horseradish......it's the BEST!

A Great little neighborhood pub with a good selection of craft beers at a good price and friendly staff. I hear the food is good too ( haven't tried it yet). What else do you need?

A plate of fries for $2.00?! McPeet's hasn't updated the pricing on the menu for a really long time. Lucky us. Fine bar, friendly bartenders, generous pours. One pool table. Very laid-back, young-ish 20-something crowd. It gets super smoky when crowded....

McPeets is a real gem. I used to work down the street and I'd stop in after work on occasion. The first time I walked in I felt like I was coming home, and the beautiful wood paneling and formica tables continued to beckon me throughout my time in Portland. The beer is cheap and the place has character. The clientele is diverse, from bros to hipsters to your dad and his buddies and the drunk girl in the corner that always finds a reason to cry and someone to take her home. The bartenders may require a bit of patience on occasion, but it comes with the territory. A very nice place indeed.

Basically your classic Dive Bar. Cheap pool, Video Lottery, T.V.s and shuv-off service. Being a Foodie i have to include that the food is Horrible. Nothing was cooked correctly and a couple of our items were cold as they came out...and it wasnt even busy.
