When i could no longer find the food cart on SW Columbia st I was heart broken. Months went by, but I finally stumbled on their pleasant new restaurant. The food remains amazing. The Belizean chicken is outstanding, the Tri-Tip steak is even better. The portions are generous and the price is cheap. I am so happy to have Love Belizean back in my life.

Never had Belizean food, but as far as taste goes it's very good! Has a great spicy kick with the sauce.

This was decent, but not at all on par with its neighboring carts. I'm going to give it 3 stars, but stay tuned, as I made two mistakes of my own--I got too small a portion and I erred a bit too much on the conservative side when choosing sauces. Can't quite fault the cart on that. The chicken was good, though I'd say that a single-piece meal is not quite big enough. Lots of meat on the thigh, with a nicely-seasoned skin. It fell right off the bone. I can see why the cook recommended it so highly. Next time, I might get two pieces, or the tri-tip. The new pork entrée looks pretty good, too. Too bad there's no more pineapple upside-down cake there anymore. A tropical-tasting dessert would've been great afterwards. The Marie Sharp's sauces they provide are a real treat. I got the sweet sauce, described by the cook as on the mild side (he was right), along with a grapefruit pulp-habañero sauce, which he said is more of a medium. It was a good combination, but I'd opt for a spicier one next time. The coconut rice and beans were good, particularly when you let them soak in the juice from the chicken and put a little sauce on them. They're appropriately-sized as a side, though not enough to make my meal quite full-sized. Might need a pinch more salt, but your mileage may vary. I'm pretty sure they're vegan, if that's your thing. It's not mine. The spring mix salad was weak. No dressing, and the tiny lime slices they provided with it didn't yield much juice. The little cup of lime juice they also put in the box still wasn't enough to make the greens interesting. The onion shreds in some kind of vinaigrette served in a cup on the side failed to impart much flavor, either. I like salads fine, but after a few bites of their flavorless vegetable matter, I found myself nervously eying the cart-pod grounds for predators with nasty, big, pointy teeth. I'm not sure if the cart quite justifies its prices. For that same $8, I could've gotten a number of larger dishes that don't waste valuable space on salade au lapin. I'd return here, but only when I'm down to drop $10 on the other, larger options.

I've been eyeing this cart at Tid Bit for quite sometime and finally took the plunge. It was just what I wanted - a simple meat, rice, salad meal. I got the chicken with the Belizean hot sauce. At first, I thought they forgot to give me a knife, but when I went to eat the chicken, the meat just fell off of the bone. It was so tender - no knife necessary! That chicken was AMAZING, the skin was so flavorful and the meat was incredible tender. The rice and beans were also delicious. Make sure to mix it up with all of the juices sitting underneath the chicken. The Belizean hot sauce was very spicy, which I loved. I got it with arugula, which I would have enjoyed more if it was dressed. Vinaigrette is provided on the side but it's impossible to mix it with the large portion of arugula stuffed into the container. Overall, excellent food!

We've been to Belize, and wanted to try this food cart out. We ordered the chicken and tri tip combo. It came with coconut rice with beans and a salad. The salad I could probably do without. The chicken and tri tip were tender and flavorful. You'll definitely have to put Marie Sharp's hot sauce on there. Marie Sharp's hot sauces are made in Belize, and carries some heat in different flavors and heat ratios. Just missing some Belikin beer, which is a lager from Belize. Definitely hope they add items to the menu, as I had plenty of good food in Belize.

Super fresh, tasty, healthy food here! Staff is friendly and efficient. I always get the chicken+tri-tip combo plate, which is a large portion, definitely a great value. They offer several salsas, but I always get the orange pulp one. They also seem to maintain regular and long hours, which is a big plus over a lot of carts in this town, whose hours are anyone's guess. One of the top 3 carts in the Tidbit pod, IMHO.

I've never had Belizean food before, so this was the truck I chose to order from at this particular food truck pod in the ever so lovely Portland. I ordered the double because it was only $2 more than the single and I knew my hubbo would want to steal some bites. The guy at the counter was super friendly and my order came out promptly. The chicken was fall off the bone tender, and paired with the orange pulp hot sauce I chose it was very tasty, not as savory as I was expecting but tasty. I loved the little cup of onions that came with it, they were in vinegar or something, I poured them into my rice. The rice, oh the rice. It was so GOOD! I snarfed it down and could have snarfed more. It was zesty, perfectly cooked, awesome with the onions, and just downright drool worthy. I'll come again on my next trip to Portlandia.

My first time here. No idea what to expect. Haven't been to this area in a while anyways but it's a nice night and lots of people are sitting outside here. I didn't even realize this place was Belizean until after I placed the order and read the sign. I just wanted some meat and some carbs, so I got the chicken and rice for 8 bucks. There are several options for what type of sauce you want. I rly wasn't in the mood for spicy so got a mild, and my nose was still running. Wtf? That's impressive. Or maybe I'm getting weaker. The chicken was very tender and had some nice sauce on it with spices. The rice had some beans in it and was nice to eat by itself. My meal came with salad too which came with some vinaigrette. Next time I'll come in a spicy mood and order the spiciest sauce and just eat it straight.

It was my first time at these carts on 28th & Division so I decided to try something new. I got the chicken and rice and was fairly disappointed. The rice barely had any flavor and the chicken was a little too dry. For $8, the portions were fitting; however the quality was lacking. This is definitely my first and last visit to this cart.

These guys are awesome! Always really solid food and super friendly. Big portions of food mean you won't be hungry after eating here - you definitely get what you pay for. My wife and I spent some time in Belize and the food at this cart is spot on! I only wish I could have a Belikin with it!!
