Returned again to Grab a Gyro and I'm updating my review to comment more on customer service. The staff are friendly and help create a comfortable and welcoming environment. We went when it was a bit busier and we ordered a lot of food, so we waited a bit longer than expected but we were ok with that. Once our food was ready, one of the staff gave us some free pita bread and their house made hummus for the long wait. Conclusion: great service and I'll keep coming back. Also their hummus is delicious. It's the creamiest hummus I've ever had and has great flavor.

Second review: Gave it a second try. The manager (not the owner, as it says on Yelp), a guy named Eddie, prob wasn't there because it's Saturday mid afternoon, and he's M-F. Both of my trips have been on Saturdays. Maybe weekdays are better. First thing I noticed as I walked in was an employee sitting by the door, prob on break, emanating a seriously bad attitude. Guy behind the counter, older of the two, seemed very nice. I had something different this time, another kind of gyro. Honestly, I don't see what the big deal about this place is. The second gyro was better than the first, but it was hard to eat because it's basically an open sandwich and I was using my hands. The lettuce and pale pink tomatoes ended up on one side and the meat, which was kinda dry, was on the other. Guess I like the ones that are rolled up all the way. They aren't photogenic, but they work better. I'd score this sandwich as a 3/5, while the first was a 2/5. On this one I even wondered if there was smoke flavoring involved, as it was a bit stronger of a smoke taste than I expected. The sauce on the sandwich was OK, but could have been more generously applied. Best of luck, fellas! Happy for you that you have so many loyal fans. I'm just not one of em. My first review: Place seems clean, ppl nice enough, service was decent. Had a falafel sandwich. Maybe they just make sandwiches w fried stuff in them better in Nashville. Like the one I got in Beaverton, this one would have made a pretty picture, but it really didn't taste very good. Didn't even finish all the falafel off, prob a first. The falafel was dry and didn't seem to be dressed up much on the inside, could have been straight chickpea flour for all I know. And maybe their grease wasn't up to speed, possibly been used for too many fries? Ick. Didn't really care for the sauce either. Overall the sandwich was dry. I'll try something else if I go back. Def not another falafel sammy tho. That makes me sad.

Homemade yummy food! Their lamb gyro is definitely big enough for two people and I recommend adding feta and garlic sauce. My boyfriend had the Greek fries and they were very tasty as well. We took some baklava to go and ate it the following day. It's very buttery and worth trying. The service is very friendly, but can be slow at busy times. I also found the temperature in the small restaurant to be a little too warm, but it won't stop me from going back. Update!!! I went back on a hot day recently and they seemed to have the temperature indoors under control. The visit was top notch as usual. They even let my daughter try the chicken and lamb to see which she liked better.

Huge yummy gyros! Price is really awesome, and you can even add curly fries to your order. Portions are huge, and they put tons of meat on the gyros. Decent quality ingredients and it seemed pretty fresh. I would recommend this spot, you can easily split a meal here and it won't break the bank!

I didn't have high hopes based on the location and decor, but thankfully I was wrong. They serve a very large and tasty lamb gyro, I'll be back.

Best of Barbur Blvd.............and that says a lot! I admit I almost passed this place up. That stretch of Barbur just West of Portland to Tigard proper is kind of a dump. A few cool old signs that keeps you wishing the flux capacitor was real and you and Doc Brown could go back and drive down Barbur back in the day when it was old school cool. Well, I can attest that there are still a few signs of life on the classic Portland Westside drive, and a good stop for lunch or dinner is this place. From the outside, it looks like yet another tacky low budget franchise. I could not have been more wrong. I opted for the veggie mezza plate, a great mixture of everything veggie and it did not disappoint. They even grill some fresh pita breads for you. Need more sauce? Just ask they whip it right out to you. How was your meal, do you need anything? They want to know. Everything tasted very fresh, and the falafel was much better than I expected. Crispy, garlicky, and well prepared with fresh spices and parsley. They do mediterranean food here and do it well. Scratch made hummus, baba, falafel, salads, sauces, and a couple gyro wheels make this place fire on all cylinders. I've never seen a staff more "on it" at this type of place. Very warm and friendly, and they eagerly offer up samples. Great menu with various sandwich and full plate options. Plenty of veg for the vegetarians like myself, and enough meat for the cavemen among us.....or yuppie Paleo Moms! I will be back for sure. It's quick, it's got a great atmosphere, a tv for the game, and you certainly feel cared about. Your tummy will be full of garlicky goodness, and for a half hour you can forget about being stuck in traffic having to gaze over at signs inviting you for an oil change, office space for lease, or one of those naughty private room strip clubs. Great Scott!!!!!!

Very awesome when I came in the door, gave me a sample of the meat and offered my water while I waited for my food to be prepped. Even told me the different wait times for different items (he could tell I was in a rush) This might be a new favorite neighborhood spot for my husband and I!

Their Gyros are gigantic. Bring a big appetite and a shirt you don't mind getting a little messy. Back when I started college many years ago I dabbled in Gyros. I had sen the trendy late 1990s Gyro places in the mall and decided to try out an actual gyro place. Well, I found two (of differing styles) adn generally liked them both. However, several years later for some reason, of which I have still yet to figure out, I just stopped liking them. Fast forward to 2015 and I see the new Gyro place open up. So I give it a try, mainly looking for some good falafel. I get the chicken shawarma gyro. I figure, I haven't had Gyros in a while and Ive never had shawarma, so why not hit two birds with one stone? It was very yummy. So good it completely overshadowed the falafel for which I had come. The prices are fairly high, but when you see the size of the portions you'll know why. I will definitely come back to try some more of the gyros. My one gripe is the menu. The hanging menu isn't very complete, so you have to look down at the fold out menu on the counter. It would be nice if they had a nice complete menu above the counter to make it easier to order. Nothing fancy, just a board with everything on it. That's a fairly minor gripe, so don;t let it keep you from going.

These gyros are so big they generate their own gravitational fields. My lamb gyro with feta cheese (on the side in a container) was outstanding. My wife's chicken shawarma gyro was also good, but she would have liked more veggies and less chicken. I finished my gyro, but my wife got two meals out of hers. The Greek fries with feta and spicy sauce were artery-clogging good. Our grandson, who is a picky eater at age 3, loves the handmade hummus with thick, soft pita bread. The prices are amazing: We fed ourselves, our daughter-in-law and two grandkids for $29, not including tip. We had leftovers, and I had to let out my belt a notch. You can eat in the restaurant, a spotless, casual, no-frills, but pleasant environment in a Barbur Boulevard strip mall, right between a Bellagio's Pizza and a gun shop. If guns or pizza make you nervous, order takeout!

4 stars Prices right Super friendly Great mebu "Heaven in a bundle" per my 12 yo son Fast, fresh We got lamb gyro - next time no spicy garlic sauce, too saucy for us. It was huge! Soft pita. Tons of meat. We also got mezza plate. Excellent. Soft fluffy falafel. Dolmas good, nothing special. The baba ganoush was yummy. Lastly, a fire roasted veg plate: huge chunks of roasted cauliflower, tomato, zucchini, mushrooms, peppers on top of yummy rice. That also came w/huge Greek salad and plate of hummus and pita! Did not care for silverware - cheap and bent when you tried to cut even a grilled veg abd limited outdoor seating. Inside smelled like deep fryer and limited ventilation. Otherwise it would've been 5 stars!

Stumbled upon this place, and boy am I glad I walked in. The all-lamb gyro is huge, with tender lamb meat loaded on. Seriously, this thing is huge. You can add a spicy garlic and feta sauce. Accidentally ordered it, but it wasn't bad. Adds a unique flavor. Pickles instead of cucumbers also adds a unique flavor. Not the best gyro I've ever had, but it's still pretty damn good.

4.25 Star. This is a new business that just opened up a few weeks ago and they are outta the gate with an excellent start. This place is located in the Aladdin Inn Motor plaza across the street from the locksmith. You can dine in or take out. They have about 10 tables and counter seating. One tip I would give to new patrons is to preview the menu before you go in to order at the counter. The people taking and creating your order seem to be in a rush to get your order. So indecisive like myself people beware. I like to take my time and read the menu, this is not the place for that. Preview before you walk thru. We were pleased with everything that we ordered and would order it again. They do very well with their baba ganoush and their baklava is probably the best we have ever had. The only thing I was on the fence about was their curly fries. I can't tell if they were under the heat lamp too long or overcooked crisp. My husband likes em that crisp, I do not. I still like some resemblance of potatoes with softness in the center. The spicy garlic sauce that was drizzled on the fries were excellent. We really liked the cuisine here and the prices are reasonable. We are fans of this new express gyro middle eastern spot. Can't wait to go back and try some of their kabob and eggplant dinners with rice. Yum!

Fantastic gyro! Huge portions of meat, probably the most gyro for the money in the Portland metro area. I will be going back to try some more menu items.

  • Shane C.

For reals though, this place is bomb.com . Just down the street from my house and never thought to try it until my friend recommended it. Glad I did. The gyros is tender, juicy, flavorful, and most importantly, they hook it up. The one down side is how many napkins I go through from wiping tzaziki out of my beard after every bite(and is that really a bad thing that it's that big?) The lamb kebabs are also pretty good, but you can't beat the flavor and value in their gyros.

    (5)
  • Zack L.

Really good. They usually have a few people waiting in line so if you're in a rush you might call it in. I think you can order online, too. Place is really clean and the people running it are nice.

Gyro was the best in Portland. Added extra spice and feta. I have been there twice and will be going back to try other items on the menu.

Honestly the best gyro I have ever had. Decor leaves more to be desired for but the staff is very friendly and is willing to have meat sampled. Great place for some gigantic portions!

Gyro was piled high with lamb and the veggies were just right. Spicy garlic sauce is awesome, pita bread was soft and warm,,,THE BEST GYRO I'VE EVER HAD! definitely highly recommended!

Not a bad little spot, a definite welcome addition to SW. The Gyros are HUGE. You could really split one with a friend. I made the mistake of ordering a basket and just had way too much food. The service is pretty good, food is fresh tasting, the garlic sauce is pretty good... I'd recommend it to a friend if they were in a pinch.

This spot opened two weeks ago and is already a great addition to the neighborhood. Staff are friendly and gracious. I had the lamb gyro, portions are huge! Definitely try the spicy garlic sauce, goes well with both the gyro and the fries. I will definitely be back!

Gyros are fast food, and for a fast food place, Grab a Gyro is pretty good. The falafels are actually really, really tasty, surprisingly good for a place like Portland. The pita bread itself is run of the mill, but the falafel makes up for it. You can add on hummus (0.95) or feta (0.59), but I think they could do with a few more add ins. Also, you can get curly fries on the side, which is great if you haven't had curly fries in ~10 years (like me). Service is quick and friendly, and since its in a strip mall, there's bountiful parking.

  • Jake M.

Grab a Gyro was pretty good! The garlic sauce is on point and it's A LOT and I mean ALOT of food. The trick is to eat some of the meat out of the Gyro before you fold it up and devour the rest. The only thing I didn't really like was the shredded lettuce they used. Just seemed cheap. Overall taste was good. The owners were nice and the place was clean. Bathroom was clean and comfortable as well. Give this place a try!

Stopped in to visit an good friend and had a bite to eat. I was told I needed to try their humus. After one taste I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Absolutely the best I've ever had. Cautiously brought some home for my wife to try (she's quite the humus chef herself; wasn't sure how she'd react). She agreed!!! Do yourself a favor and ask for their humus. Unbelievable!

The other day my wife and I remarked we did not have a great Gyro go to place. In fact we realized we hadn't had a great Gyro for many years. That changed when by chance I saw GrabAGyro. Bad name but great gyro. It was too early for lunch burn they insisted I try some samples. I did and decided early or not I'd be eating there. Next trip I'll try the chicken. They are very interested in getting your order right.

Finally a stand out gyro joint in this area. They make a great gyro loaded with meat. Just as good or better then the comparable places farther out west and east sides of town. Friendly, fast, fresh.

  • Mark S.

Place was packed at lunch time (12:30), that's a good sign. 5 stars for the young man taking the order, very polite and he looked like he really cared about the customers. I never had a Gyro before so I opted for the Chicken Kebob Gyro. They said it would take about 10 minutes to cook fresh on the grill but it seemed more like 5 minutes. Maybe it was just me but the Gyro got a little messy towards the end, good but messy. You should give this place a try at least once, we will be back.

I tried their traditional lamb gyro with feta. The gyro was larger than normal, which surprised me because it only cost $6.99. It was delicious! I got it in a combo, which came with a drink & curly fries. Very substantial meal. Will definitely be back, more than likely within the next few days.

Wonderful service, and huge proportions of delicious food. The lamb gyro with spicy garlic sauce and feta is the way to go.

  • Cydney M.

Grab a gyro indeed! So good. Highlights- get the spicy garlic sauce, and ask for extra tsaziki sauce on your gyro. Don't skip the fries, they're curly and they're bomb. Get some Baba Ganoush to go, because you won't have room for it while you eat but you'll be happy you have it later on when you're watching some critically acclaimed dramas in your jammy pants and you're like, "man, I wish I had some roasty smooth baba Ganoush to go with this drama!" Mostly I just like saying baba ganoush, but this is some of the best I've tasted. I do wish they had an option for a gyro plate with half of a Greek salad, because I really like piling some Greek salad on my gyro, you know what I'm sayin? Welcome to the neighborhood, Grab a Gyro. You guys are fantastic.

went here for lunch today, and ordered the lamb gyro and fries. DELISH!!! For $6.99 the gyro was huge and was heaped with tons of lamb, and the flavor was soo good! This place is such a gem and we're so glad to have a new tasty lunch spot

This place just opened up, and it's right on my door step! I count myself absurdly fortunate! The gyros are huge, and so delicious! They seriously pack these things. The price is very right for the portions, and the staff is super friendly and careful to not screw up your order. They make everything in house, and it shows in the quality. I got a gyro for my girlfriend, and a kaftka kebob gyro for myself. They told me the kebob gyro takes a little longer, but gave me a cup of humus and some fresh baked pita on the house to hold me over while I waited. Needless to say, this is going to be a regular stop for me.

We ate there yesterday for the first time. The gentlemen working were very kind and inviting. We ordered the lamb gyro with the spicy sauce on the side. We also ordered the large hummus with pita bread. Oh my goodness, the food was GOOD! Normally I crave a gyro about once every 2-3 months, well I'm going back in today to get another one! Go eat here, you will love it.

The lamb gyro with added spicy sauce and feta was very good. My son had the kid's lamb gyro as well and liked it a lot. The baklava is excellent. We will certainly be back to try some other options.

I dropped in for a quick falafel and was joyfully greeted when I walked in the door and was offered samples to help me decide on a dish. As a vegetarian I was expecting one or two options but was pleasantly surprised when I saw the menu. There were many delicious veggie items and I ended up choosing the Batinjan platter, an eggplant and tomato dish. It came with lentil soup (could have gotten a Greek salad but opted for the soup), which was well spiced with fresh ground cumin and topped with a swirl of olive oil. It was similar to a daal that I make at home and I appreciated its freshness. The hummus and pita came next which was also quite good. The pita was the only thing that seemed to come out of a package but was still good. Then the Batinjan came on a bed of yellow (I am assuming saffron) rice. Yum! The cream sauce (like raita) that came on the side topped off each bite really well. The excellent service, delectable food and huge portion satisfied this hungry biking vegetarian and I will be heading back soon.

  • Addria O.

This place was great, but it wasn't the best gyro I've EVER had. I got the lamb gyro with the spicy garlic sauce. The sauce was out of this world, but there wasn't enough of it for me. The meat was good and tender. There was a metric ton of it loaded onto the pita. It wasn't super warm though, and I thought the amount of meat kind of overwhelmed the gyro, ya know? Like I couldn't really taste the rest of it because there was just so much meat. Overall a good spot, though. The service was excellent and I'm excited to go back and try some different items on the menu!

I have had a gyro or two in my time (probably like 400 to be exact). These gyros are the best I've ever tasted. I live in Seattle and my parents live in the area here. I seriously make their gyros a stop on my trip when I come by! They are life changing!!! The best gyros I've had in the Pacific Northwest.

This is a fine middle Eastern restaurant in a strip mall off Barbur Blvd. the service is outstanding as they cook to order. The kabobs are very tasty, the saffron rice excellent, hummus and tdzki first rate. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

Very friendly staff and good fresh food. I love their kabobs salads and the gyros are fantastic. I have been in a number of times and each time Eddie at the register has been friendly and polite. Btw the soup is an awesome hang over killer.

  • Laurent E.

Ordered the lamb gyro with spicy garlic sauce and fries. I've had a lot of gyros in my day and they are generally all the same-lamb, pita, tzatziki, and lettuce. This was different. Let me start by saying the most important part (debatable) of a gyro is the meat...and there was a LOT of it. You will never hear me complain about a gyro having too much meat. They load it up here. The sauces were fantastic as well. If you are going to get a gyro in Portland, this is the place.

  • Omni A.

ive got to be honest I really wasn't expecting much out of this place. thought it was gana be average at best. boy was I wrong. I had the lamb platter with Pita Bread and o my god was it good. like top restaurant good. everything from the lamb to the rice, even the pita bread was awesome. im going back every week now. all they need is online ordering and its 5 stars all day

Stopped in a couple weeks back on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised. This space used to be semi-fast food place and I was kind of expecting a similar vibe. Although they probably get a decent amount of take-oit orders, they had a good amount of seating. The staff were so nice and welcoming. I got the kafta platter and the kids got the chicken kabob plate from the children's menu. Both were SUPER good. The meat and veggies were fresh and all the sauces were great. I will definitely go back again.

  • Dan R.

This place is so legit! Fabulous gyro meat piled high on a soft pita with all the usual suspects. Get the Feta added for $0.59. It rules! I'll be back again.

  • Dan M.

I just ate an OUTSTANDING lamb gyro and fries. The reviews do not lie. The spicy garlic sauce is a must have. I don't care that I'll smell like garlic for the rest of the day :-). It will be a great conversation starter. I'm already looking forward to coming back the menu has me trying to decide what to eat next. Its going to be hard to get past the lamb gyro but the cook recommended the kabobs for my next visit... Oh and I can't finish this without mentioning the excellent service. What a great place.

  • Teal M.

I ordered some food to go, a chicken kabab gyro and the veggie mezza plate. When I called it took a couple times to answer the phone. I ordered and he said it would be 15 to 20 minutes. When I got there the restaurant was pretty full with a little bit of a line. I could tell they were a little behind as there was only two people working, one cooking and one taking orders, they could have used a third which I was later told they had someone call in sick. I didn't mark them down a star because of this though but it was because the guy taking the orders would help out with preparing food in between and I didn't see him wash his hands however he did use gloves but still... Food handling no no. Now to the food... It was very good. My gyro was yummy, spicy sauce good. And plenty of good. The veggie mezza was also delicious and the falafel was excellent. On a normal night when they aren't short staffed it would have been a better experience but in conclusion this a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

I've been looking for a place that is like the donner kebob street food I've had in Europe... Tasty and fast and messy. This place is all that, plus they have stellar hummus. Definitely worth a try!

  • Lauren Ashlee M.

Stopped by today on a complete whim and WOW! The staff members are incredibly kind, polite and generous. I ordered the baba ganoush plate and the chef brought me some hummus to try as well-- which was... amazing! Then he offered me a taste of the tabouleh and it was also just wonderful. You'd never think such high quality food and service would be found in an unassuming shopping center on Barbur. I was pleasantly surprised and so glad I live close by! :-)

Great food. Wonderful host. Feels very welcoming and family environment. Great selection. Quality food for your dollar. Did I mention great customer service!!! If you haven't been there try it out!!! Best kebabs in town. Food is made with zest and passion, not like other places I've tried. Go and see for your self. I'm excited to have them in the neighborhood and welcome with open arms.

Authentic, flavorful, and fresh ingredients accompanied with generous portions, Grab A Gyro was a family hit! The pita is amazing, the veggies crisp, sauce to perfection, and the lamb could convert a vegetarian! And the kicker? The staff is Uber friendly!

Great addition to the area. Service was excellent. They were very friendly and appreciated our business. The lady in front of us couldn't stop raving about the food so we were excited and it didn't disappoint. Definitely grab a gyro. But come hungry as the are huge. Tried it with the spice garlic sauce. Have not had that on a gyro before but it was tasty. Also enjoyed by others at our table were the lentil soup, hummus and falafel which also were a hit.

Wow!! I love gyros and have had them all over portland, this is hands down the best gyro in town. So good! If you are looking for a great lunch on barbur and you are in a rush, pass on all fast food and go to Grab A Gyro! Your wallet and your stomach will thank you.

  • Steve B.

My wife and I went to grab a gyro today and we're glad we did! We love gyros and this place delivered great taste, good value, and super service. The perfectly spiced lamb gyros meat is cooked on a rotisserie and the outer layer is sliced off so it has that crispy chewy texture that we love. The pita bread was grilled and warm. The tatziki sauce was awesome! Big portions. We left happy and plan to go back whenever the urge for awesome gyros hits. The best gyros house on Barbur blvd!

A great addition to Portland's "neglected Southwest". I really, really like the food here. The portions are quite generous, the service friendly, and the food extremely tasty. Both times my wife and I have eaten here, we enjoyed making small talk with the staff and were offered numerous samples of the food to make sure that we got what we would enjoy. I hope that the restaurant reads these reviews...I have a suggestion that will make the already excellent food just simply outstanding. Everyone around here that serves roasted lamb with salad, tomatoes, and some kind of sauce serves it on a folded pita. While the folded pita is good, what I really prefer is the style of a donner kebab like they serve in Turkish restaurants, especially in Germany and Austria. Investigate the idea of serving your wonderful food on a Turkish flatbread rather than a pita. Looks something like this: images.dailystar-uk.co.u… It would make your already awesome food even better, and would likely get me in the restaurant at least once a week. I highly recommend this place...you won't regret it.

Went here tonight after driving by it a few times. The customer service is great. The man at the counter gave me samples to help figure out what I wanted and even offered to do half and half meat on my meal. I got the lamb gyro and the garlic spicy sauce was amazing. My husband got the chicken shawarma platter. The chicken was very flavorful. Only regret is that he didn't get the spicy garlic sauce for his platter. All together, our meals were filling, delicious and worth the price. There is nothing else like this in the neighborhood and I know we will be back soon!

My husband and I stopped in last week after patiently awaiting this place's addition to the neighborhood. It did not disappoint! Really reasonable prices and big portions. The food was very fresh, and delicious. Friendly staff, who even let us sample the meat selections before settling on our gyros. AMAZING hummus! So excited to have a place like this in SW. We will definitely be back!

Found this place via restaurant.com "coupon" which is only good for M-TH, so I took advantage of it being Thursday and having to get lunch out. I had the lamb gyro and it was every bit as good as the other yelpers say. I did no onion with tzatziki but added the feta - it was big enough that I could only eat half...so for $7.50 it's worth every penny. I had the spicy garlic sauce on the side, and it was also good...but with the tzatiki and feta, more sauce would have been overkill, so i'm glad it was on the side. I also tried the meat samosas $2.99/two- very good, except a bit greasy. would be nice if they came as a "baked" option, which is what i'm used to. (( granted it does state they are fried, and I can imagine late night devouring a few...except they are only open til 9pm. )) needless to say I also have enough left over for dinner tonight. the place was clean, the prep is done right there in front of you, and the service people were nice. I am looking forward to coming back and trying the hummus, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, and baba ganoush. and I am also a sucker for baklava. the service was also really quick. and they offered me tastes of anything before I ordered...which I didn't need since the other yelpers had vetted the gyro already!

What a hidden gem in a strip mall. Quality food and great prices. Was difficult not to order 1 of everything.

Hands down, the best hummus that I have ever had, and I am a lover of hummus. Also, the lamb kebobs were incredibly good. Sometimes lamb can be a bit gamy, but these lamb kebabs were very mild and tender. Also the chicken kebab was very tender and cooked to perfection. I finally had to stop eating because I was stuffing myself. I will definitely be back.

So I grabbed: Staff lovely and want to please. And they did. Let's run this down. Hummus is almost whipped with no graininess. Baba is unusually good with a counter punch of garlic and has a smokey backstory to it. Gyro was ginormous, to the point where I could not finish it - which is a feat as I am a chow hound. First place I have ever seen pickle in a gyro but I rolled with it. I miss the Taco Del Mar but I can see the beauty and utility of the place so close to home. Their other dishes like kebabs and vegetables look fab and next visit I will meet the lentil soup, which I so adore Persian style. Welcome to the neighbor.

I saw that this place had recently opened up and so I had to give it a shot! They have a nice selection of food and the people who work there are very friendly. I ordered the kafta kabob gyro with the spicy garlic sauce. What is really nice is that they make their kabobs fresh when you order, so they are really soft and flavorful. When I got my order, the wrap was really big with a really large serving of the kabob (they definitely don't skimp on the meat!) and the spicy garlic sauce with the tzatziki was really tasty. I will definitely be going back and I am looking forward to trying more items on their menu!

Best gyro in town. Also, the people who work there are very professional and charming. I respect the way they do business here..and the food is great!

Pretty great food. Everything is nice and fresh and portions are large. The hummus is some of the best I have had (I make my own and this is better) and is incredibly creamy. The kebabs are not par-cooked which is great because they are not dry. They do take a little bit more time but it is worth it. The staff/owners there seem to really care. Really happy it is there as the Taco Del Mar there was unbelievably bad and this is so much better than the Lebanese food cart up the street.

AMAZING! I've been looking for a good gyro forever, and this is what I've been waiting for! HUGE portion and delicious! I got the lamb gyro and my husband got the chicken shawarma. He got one with the garlic sauce and I got the tzatziki. Both were to die for! We will be back very soon!

Had a wonderful mid day lunch. The chicken gyro was fantastic paired with a Greek salad. The traffic never stopped coming in the door. Great customer service with attention to details. A lot of great tasting food for the price.

I was super excited when this place opened up, because my usual Gyro Stand (George) on Barbur, closed. And this place was better than I anticipated. The employees are incredibly friendly and the portions are very generous. I usually get the chicken shwarma, and its amazing. But then i got the Hummus and pita and that got me hooked. You've gotta try it! Super creamy and just the right balance of flavors.

Best local food in the neighborhood. Also the best gyro I've had in a long time. Oh so good. Tried the "lamb kefta kabab gyro" with spicy garlic sauce this time. Excellent. Can't wait to try the others.

If you crave pre-cooked, frozen, then re-heated gyro meat; bland tzatziki; and canned dolmas, then come to Grab-A-Gyro! I spent $12 for exactly that and that's what I received. Sure, the portions are huge, but I'm one for quality over quantity. I'll continue my search for real, spit-roasted gyro meat in Portland. You could go down the street to Barbur World Foods and get all of the exact ingredients for cheaper (and enough to make repeat meals) in the frozen and canned aisle. Disappointing, considering all of the good yelp reviews. All of the yelpers saying it was the best gyro they've ever had clearly have never had a real gyro before if you think those greasy, homogenous reheated "lamb" slices (it's actually lamb and beef) are what good gyros consist of. I won't be coming back.

  • James B.

Good food! Some of the best Kafta Kabobs around. The "plates" are complete with rice and greek salad. GENEROUS portions of meat! This was our first time here and we will be back! Really very good and nice staff and service. Make this a stop, you won't regret it.

I've been a couple times now and have had consistently good food. I'm partial to the lamb gyro which is probably the best of it's kind I've had in a long time. The lamb is just so great, but the sandwiches come together in a very filling and very satisfying way. The staff are also super friendly and I really appreciate that they provide real silverware for both waste and strength reasons.

Wow what a pleasant surprise. This was a last minute stop for take out when we couldn't decide what to eat. Looked up places nearby on Yelp and Grab a Gyro popped up. We love Greek and Mediterranean food so we were happy. Went to order there for take out and service was amazing! We ordered 2 chicken kabob gyros and were asked if we wanted to add feta, hummus and spicy sauce...yes, please! Chicken grilled fresh while you wait. Also ordered a large hummus. Got home and devoured our gyros in no time. Pita perfectly soft with great grill marks on chicken and green pepper. Chicken was moist and not overlooked. A perfect gyro, amazing!! Now to the hummus. I love hummus, and have started making my own because the kind I like (very creamy and thick) is hard to come by. Not anymore! This is top notch hummus and a large order is only $5!! Our dinner was about $23 for everything. We will be regulars from here on out. Delicious!!

Amazing service. The kebabs are phenomenal... I had the lamb and it was worth the wait for flame grilled, finger licking meat. The baba ganoush was excellent and the fried somosas hit the spot too. Great portions and fantastic quality food at a great price here... a real winner. There are good places to sit and enjoy the hot pita bread (and extra creamy hummus) while your kebabs are fired up.

Loved the falafel and lamb gyro. Next time excited to try the chicken shawarma which the person at the table next to me ordered - looked delicious! Also loved the authentic mango lassi drink. Same quality gyro as the downtown food carts, without the hassle of parking.

Honestly the best gyro I have ever had. Decor leaves more to be desired for but the staff is very friendly and is willing to have meat sampled. Great place for some gigantic portions!

Yum!

Really good. They usually have a few people waiting in line so if you're in a rush you might call it in. I think you can order online, too. Place is really clean and the people running it are nice.

Very awesome when I came in the door, gave me a sample of the meat and offered my water while I waited for my food to be prepped. Even told me the different wait times for different items (he could tell I was in a rush) This might be a new favorite neighborhood spot for my husband and I!

  • Breylan D.

  • Haroun K.

Great food at a reasonable price. The servings are enormous, and everything is made with quality ingredients. The staff are also super friendly! I would highly recommend getting a lamb gyro with the Greek style fries.

The falafel sandwich was amazing. You have to try their hummus and pita bread. It was the best hummus that we have eaten in pdx.

Very tasty food, large portions, reasonably priced for quality and serving size. Do not be tricked by the aesthetic, this food is worth eating. Your better option on Barbur.

The best gyros I have had in a long time. People that work there, awesome ! I will be back there soon.

They were incredibly nice and the gyro was the best I have ever had. I highly recommend this place!!

This is a fine middle Eastern restaurant in a strip mall off Barbur Blvd. the service is outstanding as they cook to order. The kabobs are very tasty, the saffron rice excellent, hummus and tdzki first rate. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

Best gyro in town. Also, the people who work there are very professional and charming. I respect the way they do business here..and the food is great!

Very friendly staff and good fresh food. I love their kabobs salads and the gyros are fantastic. I have been in a number of times and each time Eddie at the register has been friendly and polite. Btw the soup is an awesome hang over killer.

Loved the falafel and lamb gyro. Next time excited to try the chicken shawarma which the person at the table next to me ordered - looked delicious! Also loved the authentic mango lassi drink. Same quality gyro as the downtown food carts, without the hassle of parking.

If you are going to get a gyro in Portland, this is the place.

ive got to be honest I really wasn't expecting much out of this place. thought it was gana be average at best. boy was I wrong. I had the lamb platter with Pita Bread and o my god was it good. like top restaurant good. everything from the lamb to the rice, even the pita bread was awesome. im going back every week now. all they need is online ordering and its 5 stars all day

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Had a great gyros loaded with meat and a great sauce. Didn't try anything else on the menu but the gyros was good enough and the service was excellent that I will be back.

This place is so legit! Fabulous gyro meat piled high on a soft pita with all the usual suspects. Get the Feta added for $0.59. It rules! I'll be back again.
