Volcano Salmon...yes, please! Cute little restaurant with friendly, attentive staff. Large portions and great flavor! Plus, plentiful happy hour with great prices! This is my new go-to Thai restaurant.

Cute place. Decor is uplifting. Large windows let in plenty of light. Patio seating is covered. Food was clean and fresh. I went for lunch and ordered the red curry with beef. It was quiet when I got here but the food came out quickly and piping hot. Which was great. It was your typical lunch plate with rice and a bowl of curry plated with a small salad. I would have liked a little more beef because I love proteins. I got three beautiful pieces of eggplant and plenty of bamboo and peppers. The flavor was nice. Mild; not too sweet not salty. Just enough flavor to really bring out the flavors in the veggies. Staff was very friendly and attentive but not in an annoying way.

Sometimes 4 stars sometimes 2. We have had delivery from these guys about 10 times over the years and they are better than other options for similar. It never sucks but it's never awesome either. I'm strictly talking delivery here... The medium spicy varies from mild to blow your face off so be open to that. Think of it as an adventure! (My mom used to say that for just about everything) The salad rolls: I call them 'hot salad burritos'. The fried rice is always my favorite. Pretty yummy. Satay is delish. Friendly service from order and delivery folks. It hits the spot when you are too lazy to cook or go out.

Since moving into the Sullivan's Gulch neighborhood, I've been exploring the nearby Thai restaurants in an attempt to find my favorite within-walking-distance vegan-friendly Thai spot (Mae Ploy on Alberta continues to be my favorite Thai restaurant in Portland, however). I visited Full Moon today for lunch after several excellent meals at competitor Sweet Basil, & have to say, although the establishment is clean & the service is friendly, this is the third meal I've had (I ordered delivery twice in 2014) from Full Moon that was incredibly bland, with no spice or taste whatsoever besides salt. I wish them well, but will not be returning given how many better Thai alternatives we have in Portland.

Disappointed, Don't order the BBQ chicken the bbq sauce was just sweet Chile sauce in a cup. The chicken was roasted and severely over cooked. Veggies were tuff. Husband ordered Mango Paradise and he loved it. It looked good. Wait staff very good, building was clean. Sat next to a family of unruly children and that ruined the ambience, but not the establishments fault. Good luck to those who come after us.

Full Moon is so delicious! My boyfriend and I go at least once per week. It's our favorite Thai spot in Portland. My favorite dish is the Pad Thai substituted with wide noodles. Yum!

Sorry. I have no idea how this place is so highly rated. The people who worked there were really nice. So, thanks for that! But.... this was literally the worst Thai food I've ever had. Also, relatively high prices (especially since, sorry, worst Thai food). I think my SO and I had like a $70 meal that was mediocre at best. Super dry, tasteless fried rice for $17? Pass.

Well, the curse continues. Somehow, whenever my husband and I like an Asian restaurant (be it Thai, Chinese or Vietnamese), it either goes out of business, or it stops being good. The latter is the case with Full Moon Thai. The pad kee mao (drunken noodles) are starting to completely lack in flavor. Ditto the crab fried rice. Ditto the pad thai. The place is still cute; the staff are still sweet. But the food... isn't so great anymore. Sigh.

GET the friend pumpkin appetizer! It was unexpectedly yummy!! In fact, if there are more than two of you get two orders. We planned to order delivery on a Sat night for a group of four, but it was going to take an hour so we opted to pick it up instead. The food was ready only 20 minutes later which was more convenient. We ordered pad thai, the ginger stir fry and curry. Aside from the appetizer, the ginger stir fry was the next best surprise of the night and I happily went back for seconds. The pad thai noodles ended up being in a brick when the food arrived which made it hard to break up and eat. I was not impressed. I did not try the curry so i can't comment on its tastiness, but my friends seemed to like it. I heard the rumors about slow service and eating at the restaurant and would say getting it to go is definitely worthwhile.

I must say my second time to Full Moon Thai was a much better experience than the first. I had ordered delivery the first time and it was extremely late and my order was slightly incorrect. I expressed my frustration and figured I would just never eat there again. However, I received a gift certificate in the mail as well as a very nice and apologetic letter which encouraged me to give them a second chance. Much more enjoyable, still not my favorite Thai food place in Portland but it's worth a shot!

Great happy hour menu after 8. Great prices, on some good food. Weird rule that you can't take any with you (it's not THAT cheap...), but still good grub. They'll make it pretty spicy for you, too. Small patio, but an okay outside space if you're needing to breath some Summer air (and watch traffic).

Great delivery tonight! Ordered online, it came in 40 minutes - I ordered at 4:30 on a Saturday, so not peak busy time. Very friendly delivery guy (who seemed a little surprised that I tipped him - are people not tipping drivers? Don't be a cheap jerk, people!). Their site is well designed for ordering, with a lot of options for ordering extra this or that, specifying spice level, etc. I really appreciate this. I got 2 items extra spicy and they truly were - not just an extra shake of pepper flakes. There were nearly whole dried chilis throughout. YES. They did not include any extra chili sauces or hot stuff, which other places often will when you order extra spicy. I'll be ordering again!

Holy amazing! I'm here now and obsessed. The chicken pad Thai was actually kind of sweet which was different but delicious. I also had the fried wontons which were larger than expected; the same can be said for my roommates spring rolls. They were fresh and the size of burritos. No joke. We randomly stumbled in for dinner and will definitely be back! They also have board games like Sorry! And trivial pursuit. The space is very Portland and adorable. Great food, sweet staff, and a cute setting? I love it and will definitely be back!

Our favorite take-out. Real nice people. Service is so so, but it's a casual place and it works. Haven't eaten in yet, but I'm sure that's to come. Prices are good too. Portions are of a great size.

Everyone has a bad day, so not sure if that was what this was. The pad thai had no flavor and was pretty oily - without peanuts on top which is often my favorite part. The veggie rolls had too much lettuce and little taste as did the Massuman Curry (another favorite I have eaten coast to coast) - very bland and very little in the way of substance ingredient wise. The redeemer of the meal was the Tom Kah- it was delicious with a nice hint of lemon grass and just spicy enough to allow a second serving without hurting your tongue.

The Pad Thai noodles tasted like dessert noodles...all sweet and no fire, plus the noodles where not cooked properly. Actually the worst pad thai I have ever had. It's too bad because the place is very nice and the service was very good

A friend and I used to go here on a weekly basis. And I had given it a great Yelp review. Two months ago we switched restaurants. It seems like they are not interested in having customers. Some of the new staff are slow to greet and give you a menu, take your order, deliver your food, and give you your bill. Several times we have been almost the only customers but the staff are chatting in the other room and I've had to ask for the check after 10+ minutes delay. On two evenings, the staff were busy chatting and they haven't turned on their Open sign. Customers do not seem to be their priority.

After my favorite Thai place in my old neighborhood closed down, I searched everywhere in my new neighborhood for the perfect pumpkin curry and found it at Full Moon Thai. The husband loves their pineapple curry. Full Moon Thai and us were a match made in curry heaven. I'd call and place a to-go order and they'd be there waiting for me every time. And the staff has never been anything but nice and polite. It was curry heaven. Until today. I moved way out to Wood Village, but was at the PCC Cascade campus today for class. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel, so I called to order some curry to pick up on my way home. My call went straight to a voicemail message saying that the line was busy and to call back. I called back a minute later, same thing. A minute later, same thing. On the fourth call, the phone finally rang and someone picked up. I asked to place a pick-up order and the person on the line asked me to hold and set down the phone receiver. For FIVE MINUTES I listened to people moving around. I finally hung up, but called back and, of course, it went straight to the voicemail. If you're too busy to take calls, take the phone off the hook or don't answer the phone! Rude. I can only imagine they did that same thing to the person who was on the line before me. Looks like it's time to find a new pumpkin curry place again...

Appreciate delivery! nice complex flavors shine through in the curries, veggies are fresh & perfectly cooked. The papaya salad packs a fishy authentic flavor I'm used to; noodles are never great delivered but these were adequate. I found spice/heat choices to be pretty accurate & if you order mild you will get bland. Our first dinner delivery was fast, piping hot & a great value. We will def order again. 2.1.15 & we keep ordering. Great service, fresh, and delicious. The dumplings are our "must-have" every time. They are blanketed in a light coconut sauce & unlike any others.

They are always very cordial with me and I enjoy chatting with the delivery guy every time he brings me my order. Their yellow, red, and mussamun curries are really really flavorful and delicious. Their chicken satay is a great appetizer along with the peanut sauce. Their pad thai is pretty delicious! There are only a couple of negative things that have occurred and to be fair, I will mention them because though they occur, hopefully it gets fixed along the way. One time, they completely forgot my order because the paper got jammed in the printer and they called me an hour and a half later to ask if I still wanted to get the order. While grateful they called, I was pretty annoyed that I was basically forgotten and gave up on getting food considering it was around 930 or so when they called. On one occasion, the beef in my pad thai was very very dry. On the same order, the chicken satay was also very dry. Overall, I would and will order from them again. They are pretty consistently good and considering I don't have too many thai places to get delivery from in my area, they are a great choice and again, I'm all about their yellow curry; that is definitely some of the best I've had.

Full Moon Thai came to the neighborhood in a spot where several restaurants had failed so I was skeptical it would make it. Their attention to detail and the freshness of their food sets them apart from other Thai restaurants. They are always polite and pleasant and the presentation is fabulous. They probably have the best Pad Thai in town, but all their dishes are supper delicious, I would recommend them without hesitation.

I am not sure if it was an off-night for the chef or something......this was my first time at this restaurant and probably my last :( I ordered the drunken noodles and fresh spring rolls. The drunken noodles were way too spicy to eat, even though I ordered level 2 out of 4. The rolls were made with a huge amount of bitter iceberg lettuce and it ruined the whole experience. Overall...yuck.

Thai that delivers! And super quick. They were at my place in less than 30 minutes. My friend loved her cashew chicken. It's a bit non traditional all around. I had Tom Yum soup and basil eggplant with shrimp. The soup was ok. Not great. A bit to sweet for my taste. The basil eggplant was good. Flavorful brown sauce. Rice comes with it which is nice. Some places charge for it. Will order from them again.

I agree with some of the reviewers here. The food is very bland and there are several other good Thai options in the area. While they conveniently deliver, I was told it could take over an hour (I live a few books away so I did pick up instead). If you are desperate for delivery I guess it's fine. If you want really good Thai food go somewhere else.

I ordered online from here because I hadn't had Thai food for a while and I was in the neighborhood, so why not? I promptly received a follow up call and the food arrived 23 minutes after that! The delivery driver was very kind and friendly. I had yellow curry chicken and it was excellent! Just sweet and spicy enough to satisfy (I ordered the medium spice). It was actually more spicy than I expected, but I can roll with that. Chicken fried rice was good and had lots of veggies. Egg rolls were a little smaller than I expected, but tasted extremely fresh so I'm not complaining. Overall it was awesome. I only wish there wasn't a $20 minimum for delivery, I'm going to be eating leftovers for the next few days. I will definitely be ordering again.

I wish I could give this place more stars, but I can't. We've been here 3 times, the first time was great, but the second and third were not. The food here is good, when it comes out. The second time we ate here the food took about 45 minutes to come out and the appetizers came out after our entrees. There seems to be only one server and only one cook. The server is usually quite busy running around like crazy and doing a lot of take out orders while diners sit there without any food at all. Last night, our third time in, this was also the case. After 45 minutes without even a salad roll and a couple of "it's coming" from our server we decided to leave. We won't be back.

Great local Thai place, closest one to our house. I have come to find Thai places in the Portland area, of which there are many, bin into two categories, those that excel at noodle dishes, and those that excel at curry dishes. I remain on my quest for the holy grail of Portland Thai, a place that does both excellent noodles AND curry. Full Moon That has an large restaurant having taken over the entire building they are in. I have only gotten take out, which is always ready when I arrive and they have yet to mess up our order, so this review is primarily about the food. The low-down: This is a curry Thai place, i.e., order the curry, you will not be sorry. You may think you want something else, but you want the curry. I had the green curry last time, and it was awesome, best curry I have had in Portland since Typhoon closed. Salad Rolls - Meh, weren't very good, feel apart, not tight and crisp. We don't order these anymore as a result. Pad See Ew - Solid, not the best, but good Pad Thai - I love it, but the noodle dishes are not the strength here. That being said, the Pad Thai is really good....till you try the curry. Papaya salad - Yum, so delicious, sauce is awesome. Get this instead of salad rolls. Great value, best Thai for the money in the area.

I don't rate service, ambiance, cleanliness and wait times; they are too variable. I can put up with anything if the food is good. It is all about the food- that's it. All of my ratings are based on vegan options only. Notes: Really good pad thai!

Great food and personal service makes this place my favorite Thai food restaurant. They have done a great job at making this little dinning room a pleasant experience but I usually get take out because it's so conveniently located.

I really don't like to write bad reviews for things but from my experience with Full Moon Thai today, I felt like it was necessary. Around 12:45 pm I was looking for a nearby Thai place that offered delivery. Everything on the menu sounded good and I was pleased to see that they gave you the option to order online which is nice. So I placed my order and was expecting my food in 30-45 minutes like they stated on their website. A little more than an hour went by and I was getting antsy and hungry so I sucked it up and gave them a call to see when my food would be arriving. After a brief moment on the phone, the lady I was talking to told me that they didn't have a delivery person there this particular today. At this point I was incredibly annoyed, especially because they should have at least called to let me know so I wouldn't be wasting an hour for nothing. And on top of that she didn't even apologize which really could have made this situation a little bit better. Even after all that still ended up ordering food and just decided to go pick it up instead. I really wish I picked some other place though. We ordered chicken pad see ew, angel wings (chicken wings), and dumplings. The pad see ew was dry and mostly flavorless, I had to add soy sauce just to make it less bland. The dumplings were alright, somewhat soggy and sitting in a curry sauce. The best part of the meal were the chicken wings although they were also just okay, they were just 4 dry fried chicken wings that seemed to be lacking any sort of sauce or seasoning. The whole meal overall was just very bland and unappetizing which is unfortunate because I've typically only had good experiences with Thai restaurants (and Portland has many great ones). I can't say much about the ambiance since my boyfriend was the one to pick the food up, but based on today's experience that's not going to happen since i'm not going back.

Full Moon was burning on all 8 cylinders today. After reading the reviews and the Yelpers mentioning that prior restaurants in this space have not worked out in the past and I wasn't sure what to expect. Keep doing what you are doing and you will have no problem staying here. Susan and I had lunch and we tried the standard Thai basics. If you can do Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao right then you are probably going to do the rest of it right. They did not disappoint. I have had better Pad Kee Mao at Mee Dee but Susan said the Chicken Pad Thai was the best she has ever had. Big statement! The atmosphere was bright and airy and the service was spot on. Even the Thai Ice Tea had the right blend with not too much cream or sweetness. They even give you a little strawberry and peach bite with your check. The first I have seen do that in Portland. In a town full of Thai restaurants they do it right.

I've lived a few blocked from Full Moon for about a year now. We'll actually walk past Thai Basil in favor of Full Moon :) The staff are consistently friendly and the put up with my requests for food modifications. However, the reason we keep returning is the food. It is always delicious and full of flavor. The only downside is that the spice level can be a bit inconsistent, but this doesn't happen often. Overall, this is one of our favorite Thai restaurants on this side of town. If friends or family are visiting and food is in order, Full Moon is usually the first recommendation.

We came in for lunch and it was excellent. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and at 1pm on a monday, we had the place to ourselves. We ordered shrimp salad rolls and crab puffs to start. The salad rolls were so flavorful and they were huge and served with a yummy gingery peanut sauce. The crab puffs are great too with a tangy dipping sauce. I had the pineapple fried rice and my sister had the chicken larb. Both entres were really good. The larb was a little spicy but not over the top. The portions were big and I ended up taking a whole salad roll, peanut sauce and a large container with the rest of my fried rice to go. I also tried the thai iced tea. I really enjoyed it. The prices were great for the amount of food we got. I have enough fried rice for two more meals. I will definitely be back for the happy hour some day.

I am a HUGE thai fan and this place left me very disappointed. The Pad Thai had no flavor...definitely the worst I have had in Portland. Don't get it. I also got the Red Curry and it had good flavor but the eggplant was way over cooked and the rice that came with my meal was over cooked. Go to a different thai spot. Boo.

Hmm, I hesitate to post this because of the other reviews - but we really didn't have great food - really not, at all. The waiter told us later there was a "mixup with the chef" and apparently a lot of food orders got mixed up (or prepared sub par). The thing is, regardless, it just didn't make me want to go back. Disappointing.

Since this place delivers, I've been here multiple times since my first review and I have to bump up the stars here. First, the service is really good. They treat their customers really well. Also, I've found that their won ton soup (super good in this weather) and Kao Pad Ka Pao to be actually really good. Not as good as Baiyok, but that's all the way on 82nd and sometimes that drive makes me forsake better food. Stay away from the Pad Khee Mao still, I've tried it a few times and it just never gets any better. Some places can do it and some places can't I guess.

  • Lili K.

The Pad Thai was kind of bland but I've had much worse elsewhere! I think this place is a good choice if I'm just in the mood for some Thai curry. However, it might be a good idea to double check your carry-out orders, as they messed mine up two out of three times. The first time, my friend ordered chicken in his dish and I ordered tofu. When we got home, we discovered that they put tofu in my friend's dish and no protein in mine (no tofu OR chicken). We couldn't even trade dishes because they didn't give us the chicken we paid for. It was a nuisance to drive all the way back to have our dishes re-made, but they did give us complimentary spring rolls. Another time I got carry-out and took it home, I found that they gave me chicken in my curry when I clearly asked for no meat. I couldn't even pick out the chicken because there were shreds of chicken all throughout the curry. I'd be open to eating here again if I wanted to go to a Thai restaurant in my neighborhood (I'd choose it over Sweet Basil), but it wouldn't be at the top of my list if given a choice of making a drive elsewhere.

Excellent neighborhood Thai place. The prices are reasonable, the portions are more than adequate, and the quality of the food is excellent. While it may not be a "fancy" Thai place, in the vein of say, PaaDee (which is good in its own special way), Full Moon Thai is a standout among the "regular" Thai food places in town. It's the kind of place you would keep going back to for your Thai fix. The kind of place you'd run to on the regular on those cold and rainy Portland Winter days on which you really just don't feel like cooking (and we all know those happen with frequency, don't they?). Highly recommend.

Tried this out with a coupon, and I'm glad we found it. The colors outside are a little loud, but inside is very homey and welcoming. We had very good service. I tried the Pineapple Fried Rice and it was a pretty display with nice veges around the plate (if your menu doesn't have the fried rice page, you should ask, i did!) Good portion sizes, too. The real standout was the Sticky Rice with Mango, I would go back just for that!

With a plethora of Thai offerings in town, it takes that something to stand-out. Full Moon Thai brings up the rear (along with the white building restaurant on SE Stark by Portland Nursery) of the many, many, many Thai places I've tried. The service was nice and the prices fair, so I'll just chalk it up to taste preference.

  • Ryan A.

I wanted to try this place because it is new and close to work. Plus, I've never tried one of the many businesses that have occupied this space . . . mostly because they are never around long enough. I was even more encouraged when I saw all of the high ratings for this place. So . . . what am I missing here? Why am I disagreeing with all of you? I don't normally do that, though it has been known to happen. I can't think of a time when I ordered Thai food and it wasn't ready before they said it would be. I usually end up showing up after about 10 minutes and am usually told 15. This place said 15 minutes, but it ended up being 25 minutes. I don't care if it's going to take 25 minutes, but tell me. So, fine, maybe they got really busy all of a sudden. However, unless that means I got put behind someone else after me, I don't see how that would make a difference. While I was sitting there, I was just hoping that the food would at least taste good. It ended up being fine, but nothing special. It was a little lacking flavor and the chicken was overcooked. Overcooked chicken is a common restaurant problem, but still, I've had much better Thai. There are too many good Thai places in this city to go back to one that isn't. One other thing, instead of questioning me on whether or not I paid (which I had - I'm not going to walk out without paying), maybe you focus on giving take out customers something to eat with and maybe even some napkins. It wasn't horrifyingly awful, but I doubt I'll be back.

One thing I love about PDX is the plethora of Thai food available in this town & Full Moon Thai does not disappoint. My wife orders the lemon grass chicken special and I usually get the cashew delight. But, we've tried the currys and other dishes and loved every one of them. I haven't eaten at the restaurant as we usually get take-out, so I don't know what the dinnning atmosphere is like, but the staff is always sweet and helpful. High quality food all around. Highly recommended. As others have mentioned, they do runa bit spicy. I am a lightweight spice wise and always make sure to ask for extra mild. In the mood for tasty Thai? Go here.

Excellent meal, fresh ingredients, freshly prepared, great taste. The mango paradise with cashews dish was quite good. I asked for medium hot, but felt it was mild. However, the overall quality of the dish and taste left me satisfied. The fried rolls were delicious in that the fresh vegetables inside weren't saturated from being cooked. The dipping sauce is another excellent home made treat.

Too many Thai food in my life. This one is not bad. I kind of like it and yet I am not a fan. Thus, I only gave 3 stars. The service: It was pretty good. They are pretty attentive and friendly. They greeted you and walked you to the table. It was fast and precise. The food: I ordered a lot for two people. Here what I ordered with the review: - Pad Khee Mao: not as tasty as other pad khee mao but it was adequate. You can still smell the taste of the basil and bell pepper. The noodle was not as soft but still good. - Pad Thai: their pad thai could be their highlight here. It is tasty and definitely bring out the favor of the egg and peanut in the food. - Yam Nuar (beef salad): It was not bad. It was sweet and a bit sour. The beef was tender and worth a try - Crab Fried Rice: not as good as red onion. The fried rice could use bolder taste. The crab was quite generous yet the taste need to match it up - Sticky ricky with mango: the sticky rice was a bit too chewy. It was not piecy and sticky but bundly and chewy. Have tasted a lot better The atmosphere: It was pretty basic thai restaurant. The decoration was not too much. If you come in a big group, they should be ready to accommodate you. Good place to have a nice talk. The location They have a small parking lot or you can park on the street. Not difficult to find. But if you do not have car, it might be a bit challenging to go there

A friend and I searching for the elusive restaurant that will deliver something other than pizza in this town and we were so happy to stumble upon Full Moon Thai! There is nothing worse than paying for bad delivery food, and we were wary of paying the delivery fee and tip without ever having tried the food before. However, we loved it!!! We got pad thai and massaman curry and they were both great and hot when the food arrived at our door. Also delivery didn't take too long. Order delivery today!!

I just moved to the area and wanted to find a nice thai place close by, Full Moon Thai definitely fits the bill. I must say that I have only tried the yellow curry as of yet, however it is the best curry I have had. I always order pick up and its always ready in a timely fashion, always 10 minutes or less. They are extremely nice and friendly. They also have pretty decent prices.

Great lunch experience. Friendly, clean, reasonably priced, fair helpings, good presentation, accurate spiciness

I am addicted to their vegetarian salad rolls. They are honestly the best I've ever had. I work in an amazing Asian restaurant, but I will come here for those suckers. Full of vegetables and flavor, and the peanut sauce that accompanies them is like a little pool of liquid gold. I have had other items here, and though none have disappointed, the yellow curry is a standout. And they are not afraid to spice it to your liking, even if it's crazy hot. Thank you for that. And thank you, thank you for those beautiful, enormous salad rolls.

My sister and I were really in the mood for sushi, but couldn't find a decent place open at the time. So as we were driving around starving, the bright lights of Full Moon Thai lured us in. There wasn't a single person in there, which made me a little nervous. With so many Thai places in Portland, I thought this place was going to be another "meh" on my list. We ordered the basics, chicken pad thai and chicken yellow curry. Easy dishes to determine if i want to be a little more adventurous next time around (if there would be one). The pad thai was actually really good. Not overly sweet like most places have become in Portland and the curry was great. Potatoes were actually cooked all the way through without being mushy. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered yellow curry and end up with a bowl of hard, uncooked potatoes. Gross. This place though, pretty damn good. Good heat levels, good flavor and everything that should have been fresh and crispy, was. Everything that should have been stewed and soft, was. We also got their combo appetizer with chicken satay, fried wontons and egg rolls. All was good, too. Egg rolls were a little boring, but the chicken satay made up for it. It came out fairly quick and piping hot. I like this place. Better than a lot of the Thai places on Alberta, which is closer to home. This location doesn't have the best history with restaurants staying around long, but hopefully this place will put down some roots. I'll definitely be back.

Randomly searched for Thai Delivery and was surprised to find that not too many places delivered. Then, Full Moon Thai popped up. Not only did they deliver, but their online ordering system was efficient, quick & easy and our food came super fast! The food is amazing! Pad Kee Mao, Fried Rice, String beans were flavorful and perfect.

Out of the blue several items were removed from the newly redesigned menu. The staples are still there, but a few of the more obscure dishes are nowhere to be found. This change to the menu brings my rating down to 4 stars. Also, there is still a hilarious misspelling in the new menu. Points to anyone, and everyone, who spots it!

I love this place! The food is great, the service is on-point, and (most importantly, in my opinion) THEY DELIVER! I don't know why it is to difficult to find delivery in Portland, but thank god for Full Moon Thai. You can place your order online through their website; I don't think I've ever waited more than 30 minutes for my food to arrive, even during peak dinner hours. The portions are average, as is the price. You can pay a dollar for extra tofu/veggies/meat, which makes the portion HUGE! They actually make food spicy if you request it that way, which I really appreciate. They are vegan friendly and I've never had a problem with having my diet accommodated. I most definitely recommend Full Moon Thai! Fingers crossed that they have a better go of things than the last 5 restaurants that have leased that space. I don't know what I'll do if I stop being able to have Thai delivered to my doorstep.

I wanted to add a review for their catering since I've been frequenting them a ton for business purposes recently. They are absolutely TERRIFIC! They can do smaller orders for 10-20 within the day, and they did a larger order for 50-75 in 1-2 days. They are super accomodating to your requests and pack everything very nicely so that you don't get any crazy curry spills in the car. And did I mention the prices are great?! Best of all, the food is always a hit at work events! Refugees, immigrants, lawyers, doctors, realtors, professionals, working class folks...yeah, this shizz ain't racist, we all liked it a lot a lot a lot. In fact, the executive director at my agency just requested today that we order some papaya salad (and some other stuff, but the main request was papaya salad...) for a meeting next week so that our board can give it a try. And yes, the papaya salad is really that good...

Halaluaha, I have been searching for two months now and this IS my new thai spot. The pineapple fried rice is delicious, veggies are fresh, the rice is soft but not too soft, not to greasy, but just greasy enough, and the salad rolls come with a delightful peanut sauce with hints of ginger. Best of all the prices are totally reasonable for delicious thai food. The service was also quick and efficient. I did take out but apparently they have a happy hour after 8? I can't wait.

Full Moon Thai. Let that name ring out. Located up the street from the Blind Onion, across the street from Rose City Furniture. It's sort of easy to miss. This building has changed restaurants a few times, so if you have been there in the past in not the same joint. My fiance and I just did the Lunch Special ($5.95) and it was awesome. $5 if you are a student. Pad Egg Plant and Drunk Noodle were awesome. I'm a big fan of roasted garlic on everything. Very pleased with the price, quality of food, and service. I'm a big supporter of local and I gotta respect my man trying to do his thing. Gotta look out for the homies. This place is real mom & pop style, like something you would find on 82nd. It reminds me of the Thai plate lunches I would get while going to collage in Hawaii. Hit the spot. I'm backing it. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for solid Thai at an affordable price. Full Moon Thai works great.

Lured by a restaurant.com deal and solid reviews, I had high expectations for Full Moon Thai, which were met! The food tasted terrific. My husband and I both ordered dishes off the speciality section of the menu and enjoyed them immensely. Of our two dishes, my Green Curry Avocado shined most brightly, with a slightly sweet, flavorful curry sauce, perfectly cooked vegetables and tofu, and just enough spice to clear out the sinuses without burning them. The restaurant itself is cozy, well-lit, and pleasantly decorated. My only concern was that it was practically empty, which leaves me worrying that this gem of a neighborhood joint might not thrive. Then again, it could just be that the efficient service gets restaurant-goers in and out in such a timely fashion that the dining room stays quiet, which I do not at all mind. Regardless, Full Moon Thai hits the nail on the head in every respect. Dine in here for your next date night!

I can't tell you how happy I am that I decided to try this restaurant. This area gets a lot of come-and-go "hot trend" restaurants... but this is the real thing! Good prices, large servings...This is the kind of place that has typos on the English menu (in a good way). I haven't seen it busy yet so I'm trying to get the word out there so this place actually stays open! They have the right recipes and the right cooks... don't let this place go under! Go try it now... I promise it will be worth it. So far I've only had the Pad Kee Mao, HOT, and they got it right. Piping hot and juicy with fat noodles cooked to perfection. Springs rolls were also very good with yummy, warm peanut sauce. I'm excited to try many more dishes from this authentic Thai restaurant.

Finally! A Thai restaurant in Portland that lives up to my standards. Over the years I've heard from friends, co-workers, etc., "Oh, you should try the thai food at blahdy-blah. It's really good!" ...No it's not. However, the food at Full Moon Thai really IS good... yes!!! I can't pin point exactly why this Thai food is better than others in Portland. It just is and you should try it! :) Added plus- They deliver. Another added plus (for me at least)- They are located in my 'hood.

The place is a solid 4 stars, everything we got was good. It wasn't blow me away amazing though-- we have our favorite Thai restaurants, and this one doesn't go above and beyond like Khun Pics or Lemongrass does with all of the fresh vegetables, etc.. But like I said, this place is definitely good, and worth at least trying. On another note, the service was a little slow, and we were only one of two tables, so I'm not sure how it would be if it was crowded.

Took a chance on this place with the family while running errands and was pleasantly surprised. The interior is cozy and clean. The tom kha soup is some of the best I've had in town. My chow mein (I know it's a Thai place, but the menu pic enticed me) was loaded with garlic (good) but salty (not so good). We had fine apps and very friendly service. I'd be happy to come back for more.

I have ordered delivery from this place twice already and they have delivered within 20 minutes both times!! I mean how awesome is that? :D the yellow curry with tofu, and the salad rolls are AMAZING! I will definitely be trying all the other curries. They are really good about having tofu and veggies available to replace meats if you are vegan which I am. Great service, FAST delivery and decent prices for quality food. I will be ordering from Full moon thai again. :DD

I was in the neighborhood and in the mood for something Asian, and Shan Dong was lined up down the block (as usual) so I was wondering where to go when Full Moon Thai caught my eye. You can bet I'll be making that stop again! I ordered my stand-by, vegetable Pad Kee Mao, and it certainly delivered. Carrots, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes were added to the usual broccoli, lettuce and basil, and all were cooked to perfection.

I arrived from Tucson today and was staving so I yelped Thai Restaurant and Full Moon Thai came up....loved the reviews and have to give it five stars. Food was great- had Panang Curry-spicy-awesome. The restaurant is extremely clean and the service was outstanding. Will come back on next trip to Portland.

Service: fantastic. Food: Out of this world good. They let you spice your own thai food so that it doesn't come out too spicy from the kitchen. I think that is brilliant. Prices: Perfect for the portion and quality. I am so willing to pay 8.95 again and again for what I ate last night! Atmosphere/location: Soooo great. And they have a beautiful patio out front, which I'm sure is lovely during lunchtime. Go Full Moon!

I was really impressed with the quality of food here. The owner was very friendly. I will be back to eat in or at one of the picnic tables outside during nice weather. The interior is very nicely decorated and pleasant. Very clean. We got some things to go. I was especially pleased with the green coconut curry sauce on the dumplings. Ordering "mild" spice was just right for me - kind of like a tiny groove rather than a kick. Only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because I have only been once. I look forward to the next time!

affordable, great food, good service, even though there was probably one or two servers that was on at the time. I was amazed. Oh, the people next table was having a party that wasn't separated from the rest of the customers since the place is so small, it got loud and a bit annoying, definitely not for first dates.

My husband and I have made a deal that if we go out to eat, we have to walk there. So we've been trying a lot of the local restaurants in our hood. We are big fans of thai food and decided it was time to check out this place since it recently opened and there aren't too many other thai restaurants within walking distance. We ordered the green papaya salad and the appetizer sampler to start. Both worth price. There were 4 of us and we were able to split everything. We order the papaya salad medium spicy and it was pretty hot so be careful! We order 3 entrees and were all stuffed by the end. Everything was pretty good and we will definitely go back.

Since Wild Tiger closed in Hollywood, this is now the next-closest Thai restarant to where I live, and I've been meaning to try it for a while. I dropped in for lunch today and had the Pad See Ew lunch special, and it was outstanding! The quality and quantity of the food as well as the price were all excellent. I'll be going back again soon.

Stopped by last night for a quick bite and and left satiated and smiling with leftovers. Good Thai at a great price. Staff was wonderful. Happy hour deals were fantastic. Still BYOB as they don't have their license yet (2/8/12) so even better. We'll be back.

Just tried Full Moon Thai for the first time after seeing it open and then...great reviews on Yelp. The verdict: awesome! The beef larb is SO good, also beef salad, both ordered medium spicy- perfect for me, perhaps a bit spicy for the fainter hearts in the house. Super fresh and hot (super, as in fresh out of the fryer) appetizers- nothing ground breaking but delish and fresh. We had everything delivered- they were polite and great on the phone and said "about 15 minutes"- they weren't kidding. Absolutely, about 17 minutes from ordering to our door- basically, fabulous, fresh and fast. Oh, and affordable! Our new fave for sure.

This place is really tasty. I've tried a handful of Thai places on the east side and this is my favorite. No MSG and not overly greasy like some places. Lots of flavor and super friendly service. Great lunch specials too. Give it a try!
