Bar tender is conscientious. Food is average for pub food. I've been here 3-4 times now and it seems like a Mcmenamins but a little better. They've got Lottery and a little trashy edge that's lea it that way. They occasionally have some live tunes. Not a bad place to drop onto for a beer. A place to go with a buddy, but not necessarily the place to go for a conversation with a stranger.

This is a really BIG Irish pub! There are TV screens that are a little bit too small for how massive the pub is, so if you want to watch some sports, you should try to situate yourself closer to a TV, otherwise, it's going to be a lot of squinting. The whole pub is a little dark and there are a lot of little steps everywhere so BE CAREFUL! Watch your step! The food was decent. I wouldn't rave about it but it wasn't atrocious either. I tried the burger and corned beef sandwich. The burger was decent but I felt like the corned beef sandwich was too oily. The bread was all soaked in oil and soggy. After I finished eating it, I felt a little sick from ingesting that much oil. The pickle that came with it looked funny, almost like it was fake, but it tasted normal. The service was pretty good, they always made their rounds and made sure we were happy, well fed and well hydrated. I probably wouldn't come back again just because the food didn't really impress me and I'm all about the food, but I'm glad I came. I didn't get to try their drinks, but I heard they were pretty good! Worth visiting to check out the ambiance!

I went in there for trivia Wednesday night (as I have for many years) and a different bartender was working. JT instead of Tim. I ordered a hot tea and a hot toddy. He rang me up and then walked away. He proceeded to set a table for a group coming in while I waited for my drink. After waiting a few minutes he said "the waters not hot, I'll bring it to you when it's ready". I waited 20 min, asked a server who said "did he help you? (Pointing at JT) then you need to ask him" so I asked him and he said he would bring it when it was done. After 25 min he brought it and it was barely warm and not full (and in a pint glass). I walked it up to the counter he rudely looked at me and I told him it was not warm. He just stared at me so I asked if maybe I could just have a pbr instead. He grabbed it opened it and then walked away. No offer to refund the difference, no apology, nothing. I later decided to ask for the $5.50 difference plus $2.00 tip to be refunded to my card since I had already closed out. He said "I can delete it" I asked for a void receipt so I knew I wouldn't be charged. He said "well I can't magically make my register print you that receipt". I am so furious at how demeaning he was to me and to learn JT was a partial owner was astounding. I will never go in there again and I will make sure I run my mouth about how terrible it really was. Shame too because the other bartender Tim has never been anything short of great. **update** the $8 charge is no longer pending on my card it has gone through. So in addition to horrible service I was charged a total of $11 for a can of pbr

This place is abominable. I ordered the "Irish Nachos" and started farting out their foul grease within fifteen minutes of consumption. My bowels had to evacuate the nachos in the abysmal restrooms before I even left the establishment. I wish I had been drunk enough to erase this from my memory. Sadly their huge tap list also sucks. Do yourself a favor and head elsewhere. The management is also ridiculous and incompetent. I would not recommend this bar to anyone.

Horrible service on a Friday night with very little people in the bar. We ordered a second round of drinks and the bartender forgot to bring them. When I asked her she basically told me she didn't care.....thank gosh there are many other bars in the area.

I had to wait a few day to write this reveiw in order to remain objective: This review is actually a review of two parts of the Dublin Pub. 2 Stars for Pub and 0 Star for Darby O'Gill (the regular entertainment). Thus, a 1 star rating. And, I might be rating too kind. Being from Texas, you would not expect to ever hear of the Darby O'gill band. However, I stumbled upon them while listening to Pandora. I liked there music so much, that I reserched them and ultimately bought a CD of theirs from their website. So, when my family vacation was going to take me through Portland, I decided to actually stay a night (which I did not need to do on my trip), just to hear the band. Per their web page, the band plays every Tuesday night at 9:00. Also, asks to email if you're coming out, so they can get an aproximation of attendies; which I did. Alas, 9:00 on Tuesday night, no band went on stage. I asked the bartender if Darby was going to play, and informed that Darby was playing poker, drinking, and probably not. Being disappointed, I relayed the short version that brought me into the establishment. Not to get Darby to play, but to let the bar know that people sometimes rely on schdules, and that I was disappointed. The bartender went to Darby, and told him of our travels. Darby didn't even have the common courtesy to introduce himself and thank us for coming to see him. I found that rude and disrespectful. The bartender, however, paid for a round of drinks for us. That was nice, and much appreciated. I would not waste my time on this two bit excuss for an Irish bar. And, I will never step foot back into that establishment again.

Came in during a Saturday afternoon. Owners or managers or whoever, were giving off a seriously bad vibe at the bar. An elderly woman and a middle aged blond man. Seemed angry and unhappy. Like they don't even want to be in the business. Rudely interrupted my convo / order with the bartender for some reason that absolutely couldn't wait. WTF? Place was dead. Excuse me... Overall, forgettable experience. With so many other choices, I see no reason to come back...

First impressions were this seems like a nice place to hang out and watch a football game. But watch the bar tender he pours very weak drinks. Crapy attitude rude and just a dick.

Dublin Pub has for years occupied a spot near the challenging intersection of Scholls Ferry and Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway. In the 1990's the old Dublin Pub was the place to go if you wanted a good selection of import beers on tap. Curious as to what's going on at the Dublin we thought we'd give it a try. For starters, the beer selection is still outstanding. Fifty four different beers on tap! However, on our visit the interior was a little old and musty smelling. Despite its antiquity the Dublin Pub sports an interior that is warm, comfortable, and quaint. Inside they have a fireplace, a stage, pool tables, and Irish sayings on the walls. On certain evenings the Dublin Pub offers music, comedy nights, and trivia competition. Our server/bartender for the night Josh was top notch. Josh knew the menu well and did such a great job of taking care of us. On our visit we sampled the Jalapeno Burger, Fried Onion Rings, and the Irish Dip. The Irish Dip was actually a Corned Beef Burger served up au jus. It was undoubtedly the tastiest corned beef I have ever had. With the Irish Dip came homemade potato chips. Neither the potato chips nor the onion rings had a spot of grease. The whole dinner was tasty from beginning to end. Minus one star for the old interior. Five stars for the food and five stars plus for bartender Josh. The Dublin Pub is still one of the Portland area's best bars.

I have had many good times at this bar. The food tastes pretty fresh. The bartender guy always remembered my drink the next time I came in. He's awesome whatever his name is. They have games. The live bands I've seen here have always been totally badass. Worth paying cover for. The decor is nice. Irish decor, cute seating. Fireplace. Pretty much everything you'd want from a bar. It's not upper class nor is it low class. It's just a comfortable place to have some drinks.

Puzzled by low ratings until i read a few of them. The Dublin is genuine if not a bit edgy and my favorite thing about them is that they are always open to helping out the small scale brewer. The Dublin gave the Widmer brothers a shot back when they were working out of their garage. Gotta like that. Brewpubs push their own products - good and bad. The Dublin laid some of the track this great beer town runs on and is a great place. As for the service: I have been ignored by power tripping hipster bartenders at much better places than this. You should expect that at any place. As for the food: I will take the crispy tots at the Dub over the limp, greasy, over-seasoned basket of fries at McMenamins any day.

It's an Irish bar, it's a sports bar, its a dive bar, in the suburbs, it's super bar! This ramshackle building probably grew in stages, how old was the original? The central bar is small for the size of the building, but efficient with a great tap selection. The Dublin Pub is about half a mile from one of the oldest houses and a barn that was the half way point for people traveling by horse from Portland to Beaverton. That house is at the corner of SW Hamilton and Shattuck - the Tigard Rogers House, 4504 S.W. Shattuck Road, built about 1855 - and it is still standing. The Dublin Pub also joins the list of small museums for its collection of tap handles. They have gathered them and display them over 50 feet of ceiling cornice around the bar area. In the past, Dublin drew from the West, but now the West has fancified. Raleigh Hills is not the center of the known universe. But there is a lot of dense housing nearby, and Dublin can be a destination for that.

"54" beers on tap, all mediocre local alternatives to budlight. Get your favorite widmer beer here, out of a dirty glass at room temperature, from behind a really sour smelling bar! All aboard to Nowhere! Woowoooooo~ While your at it get that disgusting ass chef salad and some lame nachos and tater tots from some very dirty oil. All overpriced, but atleast they have a bathroom after you lube up those intestines with them tots! No outdoor seating so they are probably dead all summer. The interior is pretty cool with the dark crypt like tavern feel though. Terrible staff.

Absolutely terrible service everything was over priced, the beer was flat and the bartender was acting like he was on a power trip while the service was very slow

A great haunt. Very cool draft selection. Good owners and managers that are around. I've not hung out here on a reg. basis to see the nightlife-----I'm probably a little eld. However, their happy hour snacks, friendly staff, and draft selection make me return---thanks, would like to check out some live music soon. Great place if you are in or near Beaverton/Raleigh Hills----Open at 3PM

What can one say about the Dublin....other than it's a divey bar w/ live music, decent tap list, happy hour food prices twice a day, has pool & video poker, cool fire place. Good enough for me! Friday - $5 cover but you get to see live music starting around 10pm. Not always the greatest bands....mostly cover bands, but not half bad. The rotating tap list is pretty good. Plenty of options. Staff is quick to serve most of the time. They do have a small outdoor patio area in the front. Decent bar if you live in the area.

Easily my fave "cheers" style bar. Always welcomed with friendly smiles and warm staff. Beer choice is great and the bar staff really are interested in helping you find that perfect beer or even beer mix. Owners are responsive to staff and happily accept suggestion. Greatest nachos (add the beef, its worth it!). Burgers are better than McMin across the street.

After running around playing some indoor soccer, this was the perfect place to meet with the other team, drink a beer, and reminisce about how our team should have won the game. One of the guys on the other team worked out a "deal" with the bar that gave us some free fries - although a little over salted, it was probably good to ingest some salt after sweating it off just moments earlier. The beers on tap are all $3 - a great deal when there are some really good beers on tap. There was some guy singing it up, and we asked that he keep the volume to a reasonable level... and what do you know, he did! We were actually able to hold a conversation during the music, and the music was enjoyable. I'd also like to mention that the bartender rocks. When I was up at the bar, I asked for some water w/ lemon - which he got me immediately. Then as I was sitting with our group, he came by to drop off the food that some of the folks ordered, and he asked if I wanted more water. I didn't have to ask, nor did I have to head back up to the bar to get it. How awesome is that? Overall great place, and I'd definitely head out there after a game next time around... Oh, the owner also stopped over and chatted with our group for a little bit. Very cute touch on a very enjoyable evening... if only we hadn't tied the game, it would have been an even better night!

This placed sucked. Hubby and I went there to have a beer and waited a half hour without getting served. We kept making eye contact with a couple of servers and still no service. We'll take our beer money elsewhere.

Where to start? Guys at the bar saying 'Look at the bright side of the Tucson shooting: The guy was a helluva shot! He nailed 11 of 16!" (Not shy, I told them what I thought.). Then there was the extremely dry fish and chips - potatoes were as expected, but really, the oil the fish was cooked in was changed in 1964. Final insult: Just realized I was over charged or is it really $8 for a Guinness? Never again.

Love the Dublins! They do have good food, great potatos (like a good Irish pub should). Music is total hit or miss, definitely a $5 crap shoot. The owner is a mean rude bitch, so avoid her like the plague. The staff are way cool, but burdened when busy, so aren't as friendly when rushed. Worth going, they mix strong drinks, good place for the southwest, I recommend.

  • Chantal K.

The server was terrible! He seemed clueless and annoyed about not splitting our ticket amongst our table, which was so weird. . The happy has since changed to bed at 6:30 yet the online info still displays it ending at 7pm. We all order chicken strips and 3 of our 4 strips we're complete gristle! !! And the fries tasted old and saturated with bad oil. Take my advice and go a couple blocks down and go to the raccoon lounge instead!!!

Love this place, great beer (best selection I have found, love the Breakside IPA), friendly staff, awesome cook Sim, great food. The Dub Club card for drinking pints earns you cool stuff. This pub is a great place to play pool, trivia or just hangout at the bar.

Was in here a few weekends ago, it is what it is. Went in kind of late, looking for something to do. There was nothing going on this night anywhere so rolled in here where DH said there is always live music. Went in and the band that was playing wasn't too bad the cover was 5 bucks at 10pm not too bad for the music, but the band that came after them sucked! I can't even remember the name of them but did not like the sound and that is unusual for me. Drinks were OK and but went down fine. I have been here before and had the nachos, they were ginormous!! Had to take some home. I love the decor of the place the dark seedy feel. It's a good venue for music for sure. Prefer getting next to the fireplace in the winter but that is always tough. Will stop in again in the future and when I'm over here.

  • Whitney M.

Good experience. Nice and roomy inside. I loved the candles and fireplace. Ok drinks. However, I spent $27.50 last night and my bank statement says they charged me $31.88! Did someone mess up? Or add in a better tip? We will see, but for now I have to dispute it with my bank :(.

The place is a bit of a dump, but the staff is great, the food decent, and trivia night is a lot of fun! Great local beer selection too!

It's what you expect from an Irish Pub. Lots of beer, fried food and lively atmosphere. I'm not rating them well based on my waitress. She simply didn't care about two girls at a table in a 'guys' bar. I ordered several drinks with food and my friend (the sober driver) ordered water. The waitress practically rolled her eyes in disappointment and never cracked one smile but she was bend-over flirtatious and friendly for tables full of guys. What these chicks fail to realize, is that if they piss enough women off with their attitude..and the women don't return...neither will the men. Regrettably, I left her a normal tip, so she wouldn't have a reason to stereotype me. The manager should be aware that his very 'average' looking female staff needs to treat all customers decent...not just the men. I would only go back to see some great live music. This time I'll sit at the bar, where the male bartenders will treat me better.

  • Jen D.

The Dublin Pub is good at what it's trying to be, I guess: a bro bar with a decent beer selection and live music. I appreciated their large selection of winter ales while I was there and they have a semi-decent dancing area. But seriously - the bathroom was disgusting. Here's the thought that ran through my head: whoever owns this bar doesn't care at all about their business. If you did, you'd pay the $20 to replace disgusting toilet seats and make the bathroom somewhat usable. But no... disgusting. I've been twice and both times that was my experience.

  • Christy W.

Great little pub! Delicious burgers and wonderful tap selection. I had lived down the street for a few years, always wanting to stop, but never thinking of it when I was hungry. Finally, I bought a living social deal, and got over there for a burger and a beer. I have since been back to enjoy music, soccer games, and just some good bar grub.

This review is entirely around the fact they claim to be a Timbers bar. Given they advertise as such and I live close by, I thought it would be a great place to walk to & watch the Timbers in their first ever MLS playoff game. I have seen Timbers games there before & enjoyed the crowd gathered to cheer on the home team. Tonight - as we played our arch rival Seattle I thought certainly it would be on. Instead, they wanted $5 cover at 6:30PM to watch a band. Game was on, no sound. I'm not saying cancel the band, but on a Saturday night start them after the game!! If they did not push themselves as Timbers bar maybe I'd feel differently, but knowing now its marketing ploy only for regular season games I will not be back - even though it's walking distance. Sad.

I came here for a mingler type happy hour. It was a big space that supported our group of over 100 people. The space was dark, which was a little hazardous since I tripped on a raised area on the floor. The music was a little loud for mingling. Typical bar food.

  • L R.

Great bar, great food, sexy bartenders (I'm talkin to you bar keep in the baseball hat) can't beat a tall boy and a spicy chicken wrap, the sky lights deposit the perfect amount of light while sitting at the bar, dark enough to drown out the world, but still feel safe. Overall, if you are looking for a great Irish pub with reasonable prices, friends, locals, and hot bartenders (again, lookin at you baseball boy) then I suggest you stop by. Two thumbs up

    (4)
  • Dave S.

This place smells like my old frat house: that stale, semi-sour smell that comes from beers being spilled on carpet for years. Still, the hamburgers were good and the beer selection was good. Throw in their happy hour and I'm a happy camper.

    (4)
  • Nathan P.

From the time we got there on a Saturday night the beer went from $4.25 to $6.00, for the same kind. Thank god we paid in cash! The last one was during the late night Happy Hour. Do they charge less for certain items and up the price of others for this "Happy Hour"? If you ever venture to this 'Sweet Bro' establishment pay in cash or you will be charged for more than you ordered. I'm thinking the bartenders are probably buying people drinks on others tabs or just adding money on to tabs for bigger tips. Pretty shady place. Can't believe the owner (who is there most of the weekend nights) lets this go or is to unconcious to realise her staff is a bunch of cheating dishonest people.

    (1)
  • Heather P.

Subpar bar. The pub is old and getting run down. The food is mediocre. Most of the time it is cold by the time you get it. They do have live music in the evenings, but most of the bands are not known. The owner of this place is really lacking in customer service skills (rude-abrupt-curt). I would not recommend this pub to anyone.

Well kiss my tail 'til I bark like a Fox... I never knew at this "advanced" age that I could have such a good time at one of my daughter's "Hangs".... It wasn't the Music necessarily (Guy Lombardo it ain't) that held me there, it was the shuffleboard action!! We had a BALL!! As the audience hopped and shimmied to the groove, I was being eviscerated at the shuff table. And I wasn't even DrUnK... S'matter of fact I only had ONE beer the whole nite, being the fine, upstanding, society conscious driver that I am... I mean EVERYONE kicked my ass on the shuffle. I DID teach the young whippersnappers something tho when I kept our scores on the nearby dart board, pinning a dart on the inside for "Red" and one on the outside ring for "Blue".. They all thought I was pretty smart for an old fart!! I didn't let on I couldn't remember where I left my water glass... Fun place folks, really, especially if you can still converse at over 100 decibels.... As for me, the tinnitus is justa ringing today...

  • Sara B.

Yes this place is divey, but it also has a decent beer selection (something that is difficult to find in the Beaverton area). Fried food and a run down building, you know what you're getting yourself into. Live bands on the weekend, it gets packed and so loud you scream to have a conversation. It is much quieter during the week if you are looking to just hang with friends or play some pool.

    (4)
  • Gabe F.

Large beer selection, a couple of pool tables, dart board, shuffle board, TVs, and the occasional live band. Nice Irish pub.

I love this place for getting together with old friends, great meeting friends that live in Beaverton since I'm coming from Portland. Good food, pool tables, live music on weekends and overall a good vibe.

    (5)
  • Ryan Y.

Live music...plus. Only a couple of pool tables. It's was a dive bar in the center of Raleigh Hills. Big surprise, right? It's probably the closest to a real bar in the Beaverton area. Parking sucks. I would only go there if I was brought against my will.

    (2)
  • Emily E.

Extensive rotating tap and great service. However, it is somewhat expensive and very loud on weekend nights. If you live in Montclair Apartments, a great location. Early happy hour deal is great. Burger and brew for 5 dollars. Shuffleboard, darts, fun all around.

    (3)
  • Npr M.

I have been there only a couple of times for happy hours. The location is nice, the parking near the restaurant is very limit and have to leave my car in the parking lot of the grocery store. The service is great, sometimes they play loud band and its nice that they have pool tables etc for people to be entertained, the bar area can get crowded with big parties.

    (3)
  • Cheryl H.

We had a groupon to use here and decided to stop by for happy hour before a movie. The beer selection is great; we had a hard time choosing. The happy hour food menu is typical fare: nachos, fries, mozzarella sticks, etc. We would love to come back here and try some more of those beers.

My husband and I had a living social deal for burgers, fries and 2 drinks. We stopped by at about 4pm and there wasn't a soul in there except the bartender. We told him what we had and he said no problem. He brought us our diet sodas and they were horrible tasting. I barely drank mine. My husband said it was growing on him so he drank mine too. Our burgers were really good and the fries were salted perfectly. Everything was hot and fresh, maybe because we were the only customers. The bartender never asked my husband if he wanted a refill on his soda and never took the initiative to bring him one even though he looked right at his glass and saw it was empty. When we finished we went up to the bar since he never brought us a check and said we were free to go. My husband gave him a tip more than generous for what he did. Bottom line food good but we've had better burgers and the service so-so. I really doubt we'll be back.

As always I am a huge fan of English style pubs they tend to have my favorite beers on tap. This place is a good place to go to if your lookin' to mingle with the 20 something crowd. They have billiards and live music and great beer what more could a guy ask for? Women right.... well each time I've gone there has always been a plethora of women to dance with. Bartenders are friendly as are the waitresses, they even went the distance to get me some garlic fries. As far as the music goes they have a nice variety of styles every week. Sure to fancy your feet. I would recommend this place any time.

The local pub in my neighborhood, and an awesome hangout spot for literally all ages. There is always live music on Thursday-Saturday nights, and it is usually quality performers at that. My roomies and I count on Dublin (or as we like to call it in an attempt to sound cooler than we are, Dubs) for happy hour at least once a week, and often stop in there on a weekend night as well. Lastly, and most importantly, they have over fifty, rotating beer taps, and usually a very knowledgable bar staff. It's nice to get actual input from the bartender when trying to choose a new beer.

    (4)
  • Kimberly S.

I love English & Irish pubs and this one didn't disappoint. After staring blankly at the taps for a new brew to try the bartender happily helped me pick one based on my tastes. One thing I didn't find... food, which was a bummer! Anyone know of a good Irish pub with a full menu? Please let me know! :)

    (4)
  • Janelle M.

There is nothing special about that place but it is a great place to go see live music. It's always entertaining. What I didn't like was that when we got the bill it already had 15% gratuity added to it. We only had a party of 4 so I am not sure why that was.

I dragged a large group in for a meeting and we were able to scoot some tables together near the fire, drink some amazing beer and receive great service...followed by great music.

The first time here was St. Patrick's Day 2013, which was fun for being the only place in Portland with good, fun, music for that day. Since then, every time we come into the the Dublin Pub, everything about the place overshadows the music. The last few times in there, the beer was just off. Guinness was terrible (undrinkable and sour) and other beers seemed off. The bartenders recommended drinking only micro-brews. I am guessing because the other kegs are way past their prime. The wait staff and bartenders are just not that friendly or attentive either acting as if we are an inconvenience to them. Plus, every time you go in or out of the place, there is a wall of smoke from the smokers standing right outside the door. For St. Patrick's Day 2014, it would seem the beer should be fresh and better, but a Smithwick's was unrecognizable and flat despite being a traditional Irish beer. I took my beer back to the bar and mentioned it to a waitress, whom looked at me like she could care less. We left about 5 minutes later. A dive bar is one thing, but bad beer and the rest are unforgivable.

    (1)
  • Bun R.

Good happy hour beer prices and free pool until 7:00pm. The bartenders are all personable and will help you select the perfect beer for your evening. Can get busy and short-staffed. Would benefit from having more wait-staff. Live music is good, but tends to cater to the older yuppie crowd. I would give them 4 stars if they had some vegan food options.

    (3)
  • Mike D.

they didn't have my prefered style of beer so I didn't think I would like the place, HOWEVER the bartender Tim was soooo nice and all the people in the place were very friendly when they found out I didn't know anyone in the area cause I just moved here from california. It was the best night out I have had since arriving here! I HAVE BEEN TOLD AVOID THIS PLACE ON WEEKENDS... apparently there is a cover and it becomes a college meat market, I have not been so I can't say but I will listen to the advice I was givin :)

    (4)
  • Jando S.

I was impressed with energetic vibe from this Irish rockin pub and have enjoyed my visits since. The crowd is typically of college age and having a good time. Not your type of place if you're into the trendy, hip places where pretentious folks hang. The prices for drinks are decent and the music is so different each time that it almost ensures a new experience with each visit.

The only good thing about this place is that they have over 100 beers on tap. If you end up there when there is live music, it just gets ridiculous. Too loud and you can't even hold a conversation. If you are into an Irish pub, try heading to one of the pubs downtown like Kells. This one is just too trashy and run down. The problem is, there are not many good bars in the Beaverton area, so everyone tends to head here anyway.

Free poker, no cash prizes (part of the citywide US Tournament Poker league) although you can qualify for quarterly tournaments with prizes. Level of play varies extremely, from complete novices and drunks to superb players. Great place to learn the game, try out new strategies, or just to pass the time with a game while drinking. Pluses: Great beer list. Those Irish sayings on the walls. Free poker and free pool. Lots of hot babes in revealing outfits (don't quite understand why this grungy drinker's bar is a pickup joint but apparently it is). Minuses: Lousy food. Too-loud music. Spotty service.

Too much of a frat-bar atmosphere for me. Went there to see a show and it was too noisy from the crowd. I give them props for having a large beer selection, but it's expensive for me.
