RATS!! RATS!! RATS!! My fiancé & I went through their drive thru last night. We pulled up to the window, paid & waited for our food. As we're waiting we see 3 rats run across the drive thru in front of our car...BIG A** RATS!!! We both started yelling & pointing! They continued to run back & forth from the bushes next door at the "Magic Inn" And then back across the drive thru & over to the bushes/bark dust right in front of Don Pedro's. These bushes are directly in front of the big windows that face 122nd that you see when you look at the place & when you pull in. If you know of this area at all you know what I'm talking about. At this point we hadn't gotten our food yet. Needless to say we asked for our money back & explained what we just saw. She immediately told us she wouldn't give us our $ back. Another employee came to the window, we told her about the rats & asked for our $ back again. They both got major attitudes, began argueing w/ us & told us that we were lying....eventually we got our money back & left. It was very obvious they weren't concerned & didn't believe us at all. That concerns me because I don't see them fixing their rat problem if they don't believe the people telling them they have rats. That was the most disgusting experience I've ever had at a restaurant & we will never be going back.

Its cheap and decent. There are better places around, but if you want something fast with a drive thru it beats the heck out of taco bell. But it is not my first choice.

I'm addicted to their Carnitas Tacos. I love me some pork grease! I've had some carnitas that have been full of fat chunks and god knows what else, but the carnitas at Don Pedro is quite lean and doesn't appear to have anything scary in it. They have a large menu of traditional items and all of them are quite tasty. The cheese quesadilla is a nice carb booster. Of course there are lots of yummy salsa's and pickled carrots. They don't give these out at the drive thru, but if you go inside there is a crockpot of roasted onions and jalapenos for the taking. The breakfast menu looks really good too and I'm anxious to try it. Mmmmm pork.....

This is by far the best fast food Mexican food around. I usually get a Carnita's Burrito plate with beans and fried rice for $7.95. It fills me up. Drive-thru isn't that quick, because they are freshly putting it together. So be patient, it is WORTH the wait. YUM YUM YUM. They have friendly staff, as well, who speak English without a heavy accent.

Summer is coming! We have had the fish tacos again to usher in the season. They are good as ever. Price went up 5 cents, so they are now 1.30 each but still delicious and worth it! I have to say though they did mess up on my order once and i didn't realize it until I was home to plate up. I drove back and they immediately knew exactly what had happened. They didn't offer to compensate any of the meal but a soda instead. They tried to sell me a dry piece of cake while I was waiting for my corrected order. So new rule when going through the drive thru always double check the order right then and there, other than that everything is still perfect there. I noticed they changed their hours of operation too....6am until midnight all days except Fri- Sat when they are open until 2am!

Try the WET BURRIto and you will never want anything else. It is the most authentic Mexican food and I am not hooked. My husband take it to-go about twice a week. YUMMMMM!! The wet burrito is also HUGE but once you have one bite you will want to finish it. mmmM!

Holy crap, for a chain this is a pretty good spot for quick, cheap Mexican food. Their ingredients seem fresh (although my GF begs to differ). Definitely tasty!

Great place for lunch......Plates bigger than your head.....lots of food. Only mexican place I know that gives you a salad with some of their meals(as if you don't have enough food already) Their carne asada and Chile rellenos are wonderful. They have free refills on my favorite drink horchata . The place looks a little run down but oh do they have great grub!!!!

This is the best Mexican restaurant I have been to in Oregon. If you're fron the bay area, Don Pedro is not Mission District-quality taqueria food, but it's as good as anywhere in Hayward or Walnut Creek. Actually, this place follows the Southern California dive restaurant tradition. It's a cross between a taqueria and a bonified restaurant. There's a full menu, but no waiter service. I was the only non-latino in the place, with the exception of a lone cop eating a burrito in the corner. Don Pedro is super-cheap and filling. Free refills on Horchata! Big, greasy burritos! All in all, this is a substantial, great dive restaurant. I highly recommend to any California transplant with a craving for greasy Mexican food.

Went there for breakfast twice, got huevos rancheros with sausage once, bacon the next time. Excellent! More food than I could eat. I had at least another one, if not two meals from that one order! Also, great atmosphere. It was a very pleasant sunroom with fake plants that looked real. The workers are very friendly, and the restaurant is very clean. Highly recommend.

This is the spot for a breakfast burrito that will blow your mind. ham sausage bacon hashbrowns eggs and cheese throw some of don pedros hot sauce on there and you'll see what im talking about. This place also has good street tacos. Everything i've had here is good, the only thing is they're stingy with their salsa at the drive thru hate that. I think this place is really in gresham not in a very good area but ill take the risk.

The breakfast burrito is awesome. I have tried several other area restaurants, and DP is the big winner on this.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
