My husband and I ate breakfast here for the first time since it was the "Kettle Inn" It will probably be the last. I had New York Steak and eggs And i asked the waitress how big the steak was (she indicated it was aBout a 1/2inch thick) WRONG. She asked how I wanted it done, How good is your cook I said ? "Good" she said. WRONG. The steak came out looking like a pounded out 1/4 in thick if u were lucky piece of meat, that was overdone on top of it. (If they're going to serve steaks that thin they don't need to ask how you want it done) Also, I've never ate anywhere where they had New York steak on the menu and the menu said "market price" under the cost??? I've only seen that for Seafood. Am I missing something there ? My eggs were overcooked and my husband, Who had biscuits and gravy said the gravy tasted like flour and pepper. Overall the food was nothing to write home about, the prices are high for what it was, the waitress was nice but I sure do miss the kettle in.... :;(

This place is one of our favorites to stop by every now and then. With good reason it has been gaining in popularity. The hash browns that accompany nearly everything on the menu are spectacular. The vegetables that go into my omelet are always consistent and freshly cut. I can see the people who work here and own this place really do care. While the menu is one page it is rather inclusive. Not to mention they will bend the rules a little to modify orders to your liking. I have always had good experiences at this Cafe, there is a lot to love here. It used to be Pa's Kettle, but this place has blown the old business out of the water. Long time customer earned.

Food is tasty and priced fair. I had the chicken fried steak and it's was bountiful and delicious. They catered to my friends 5yr old very well. We will go back for more yummy breakfast!

I understand why other reviewers are dogging on this place. but man, the portions were big and my Denver Omlette with onions added to the hashbrowns was crazy delicious. Service was good, not grumpy and the menus are laminated and in color. The owner, Jesse sat down with us for a while and chatted. Very nice man, asked us some questions for good conversation. I'd like to see something here that makes the place stand out. The people were nice, but the menu could benefit from some more personality..

Great little place located on outer SE Division St. Small, very friendly staff and some character regulars. We go there for breakfast mostly. They have a very good regular American breakfast menu. (No fancy, over-priced, odd-ball foods for the ultra-hip set). They also have a nice lunch menu. They closed at 2:00 PM on Saturday. Portions were generous and they food was prepared and served very well. Tasted great. We'll be back often.

I've been to the Division St Cafe two times now. Unlike Jennifer C., my visits have been wonderful. No, they don't serve scones anymore, but what they do offer is wonderful. The prices are not too high - fairly average compared to other similar cafes - and the service is fantastic. My server was Leah and she was AWESOME. Fast, friendly and always there with fresh coffee. The black and white menus are gone, too! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Don't be fooled by one person's desire to have Pa's Kettle back with greasy scones or another's comment about irritable waitresses. First off, when a restaurant changes ownership, they tend to change. It is not Pa's Kettle. Second, I have been going here since the opening and also frequent the Prescot Cafe, so long time customer. The waitresses are never irritable, even when only receiving a $1.00 tip. I don't get the statement unless you might have pissed one of them off, then you deserved crappy treatment. This place is a funky atmosphere, no frills place with all concentration on the delicious food. The place give a quaint home cook feel. The portions are huge and if you think they are small, you are more than likely due for a bypass or a heart attack. My step dad loves it for their linguica which is not found normally.. My niece and nephew boasts the large portions and strawberry pancakes or waffles. And my niece eats like a horse, portions are large or she would be extremely unhappy. I love the eggs and ham or bacon. Razor clams are super tasty when in season. The hash browns are the best darned browns with slivers of onion.... MMM and their hazelnut toast and jelly. Then don't forget to take home some homemade soup or chili. OMG to die for. Their navy bean is delicious. I just don't get why a review would be negative. So don't everything you read and venture out to Division Street Cafe to decide for yourself. I am headed there now for their biscuits and gravy. Nummie.

first time we went, food was excellent and the waitress was really friendly. Second time, eggs were undercooked, toast wasbarely toasted, and waitress was not as courteous.

My Dad and I both rate this - at best - a marginal place to eat. It's close to his place and church, so it's easy. But (especially) since the service has gotten better at Shari's, this place is a dump. When this was the kettle in, it had numerous problems with professional staffing and cleanliness, etc. As the "Division Street Cafe" the service stinks and the hashbrowns are terrible- as the previous poster said. Go somewhere else- you'll regret it if you stop in here.

This restaurant is lovely! Lots of great breakfast choices. I love the biscuits and gravy! We've been here twice already and the server is always very nice and she keeps the coffee coming. My boyfriend had The Piggy Burger (ham egg bacon on a burger) on our most recent visit and it was so tasty. I like the steak and eggs! The atmosphere is homey. Definitely a great place! We'll be sure to make more frequent outings here.

The food here is fantastic! They use real butter and make everything from scratch. Watch out for the middle aged waitress though. She's been there for months but she still doesn't know the menu. She always seems frazzled even when its slow. Seriously though, I think there's something wrong with her.

I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The portions were fine and the food was cooked home style to order.

This is such a cute, locally owned restaurant. It is exactly what you would expect if you were to stroll up to it. Small, family owned, cute place. Food is in great portions, and really good. It was so easy to relax, enjoy the food, and company I was with. I will definitely be going back!

This is my second visit to this cafe and I'm in love. It's very clean and the waitresses are on top of their game. My coffee cup is always filled to the brim. Visiting the cafe will become a weekly breakfast tradition.

Love this cafe! The food taste great and you get what you pay for. The couple who owns it is old fashioned and takes the time to listen to what you want and make suggestions. You don't find service like this very often and I recommend this over a shari's or any other breakfast restaurant any day. Don't pass this place up because of looks, you will regret it.

Right into it... Hash browns & onions are ON POINT!! Priced well for portions. Quaint, reminds me of a little grandmas kitchen nook. Waitress was really friendly too. Not so great: Its not super clean. I look at not only tables but also walls and window seals. This place needs a serious deep cleaning. My pet peeve: Charging me $2 for a side of tartar sauce without warning.

Must get their hash browns with onion, I am a fan! Overall good experience with home-made style breakfast. There was only one server on Sunday brunch time but she was efficient and friendly.

Great place for breakfast! Foods great and the owners are awesome! Always so nice. I get the biscuits and gravy . I add to fried eggs on top and some bacon! Yum! Never had a bad experience here. Give in a try, you'll be happy you did.

Our first time here, wanted something that is different from the standard breakfast places. Food was good, hash browns were spectacular, not over cooked and skinny shreds. Ham was a little overcooked, but nothing we couldn't handle. My only complaint is, like EVERY other restaurant out there they were limited on the jelly/jam offerings. I am highly allergic to berries and for some reason that's all every restaurant out there offers. Would like if they offered grape, apple or something besides strawberry or blackberry.

Not terrible but not great. Friendly, prompt service. Chicken fried steak (a misnomer because it wasn't breaded) was WAY over cooked with gravy from a package; hash browns, although fresh, were dry and not crispy. The Hubs had an omelette, it looked ok. We certainly won't rush back.

Great little spot that I happened on by accident. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The service was fine and I love diner atmosphere. It's simple and quiet. The biscuits are by far, hands down, the most amazing biscuits I've had in a long time. Eat the Biscuits.

This is a great little place to get a great meal. The prices may be a little on the spendy side but you do get your moneys worth with the portion sizes. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I found it a very pleasant dining experience and I have been there a couple of times recently and received the same great experience. The Seafood Omelette was what I had. The shrimp and crab meat offered in the omelette was fresh. The hashbrowns were great and the sourdough toast was awesome. I had Orange Juice with my meal and it was fresh squeezed. The coffee was also delicious. I "HIGHLY RECOMMEND" this place.............

Conditions aren't much... But good food and if you want a traditional country feel this is your place! We love it.

My friend and I today had a decently priced breakfast cooked to our higher standards. Full coffee, hash browns not greasy and in generous portions, attentive service the entire visit. Very clean. No reason to not make this a regular breakfast stop if you are in the area. The sign says "Home Cookin" and indeed you feel at home, too.
