I keep re-discovering this place. It's not really by anything. You're just kind of bumping along the back streets of southeast and suddenly, thar she blows. A true neighborhood joint. You could live a quarter mile away and never know this place is here. It's no better or worse than any other Dairy Queen. Maybe a bit quieter. It's packed full of food that's on my No-No list yet here I am. Once again I say that anyone that introduced the Blizzard is okay by me.

The short chubby Asian girl working the counter is a wet rag. She is unpleasant and rude. She is the absolute worst. She also has weak arms so the blizzards aren't fully mixed.

This place is fairly disappointing, honestly. This location boasts easily the worst service of all the Dairy Queens in the metro area, and I've been treated to awful service at several of them. The employees are generally rude to customers. The evening shift clearly doesn't want to be there at night, as they give serious attitude if you show up in the last hour they are open. The ice cream is usually melty and not thoroughly mixed in the blizzards. We end up going back about once every 4 to 6 months because we live 10 blocks away, and it is a disappointment every time. Just go to Mike's further down the street at Tacoma, or hit up the frozen yogurt place at Bybee. They are both far better, in terms of both service and quality.

The Sellwood, Oregon store manager on7/11/15 at 830 was extremely rude. I asked if I could upgrade my combo to a blizzard instead of a drink and she said no. Which is totally fine except she rolled her eyes and said it sharply. When I asked for her name or a feedback card she told me they didn't have one and cut me off saying have a nice day as she rolled her eyes again at me. She was also not wearing her name badge. We do not have a store in Milwaukie and this was the nearest store. And I'm afraid to say I won't be coming back. The entire crew seemed bullied as she was throwing things into the sink.

It's a shame .....not like it used to be, They skimp and owner doesn't care! Order and check the poster to see if your it looks at all like what they offer and it doesn't! For the price for somewhere else.

No zero star option? Can't believe we spent our money there. EASILY the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. There is no way I could have felt more unwelcome.. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

My girlfriend and i went out to eat here for lunch. We both ordered burgers and blizards. She orederd the strawberry cheesequake. A few bites in she wasnt too hot in the taste of the blizard and asked the workers at the counter if she could replace it for a different blizard. They said no they will not do that because thats what she chose and you get what you order. They wouldnt even offer any other options and didnt seem to really care either. It was very disapointing because their food is so over priced and you would have thought they'de at least replace it. I just thought it was poor customer service and i know for fact if it was the DQ that i worked at on 82nd we would have done it in a heartbeat because our goal is to keep all of our customers happy and always wanting to return!

Let's face it, there are no other fast food joints nearby so I was forced to make a trip through the 'drive thru' at this iconic location as I was short on time. Talk about old school. I'm sure it was originally just a walk up window as it was a bit funky to try to get around the building. I got the flamethrower burger combo. Holy crap! It set me back something like $8 and that was for the medium size. I know I've ordered the same thing at the Oregon City location and it was less than that for a large. Worst part was the fry sauce was basically thick thousand island dressing that they put in tiny portion cups for the fries that were lukewarm. Nah! Next time I'll keep driving and find a different drive thru.

This place used to be THE spot for ice cream growing up, my mom and me would stop here quite often, her for their blackberry shakes, me for a Peanut Buster Parfait. Years later, I discovered their burgers during a 99¢ sale, and was very impressed at the time. I'm a sucker for anything flame broiled. I came back here recently with my wife and friend, and EVERYTHING has shrunk in size and the prices have gone way up. And no, this is not my senses as a little kid that everything is HUGE interfering with my judgment--my friend, 15 years older than me, said things looked smaller to him, too. Also gone is the flame-broiling. WHY?!? I can flop a patty down on an electric skillet at home and get better results than this place had. My wife said the chicken strips? Nuggets? She had were dry and flavorless. Thinking I'd simply missed with the burger I ordered, I tried a Mushroom Swiss. Nope. Still crap. Flame broiling is the reason I prefer BK to Wendy's, and this place USED to be a nice alternate choice. Very, very sad, considering their past glory.

I am incredibly disappointed with the service. We ordered our food and didn't get any drinks. So we got those little water cups and are hanging out for a little while and a worker comes up and says, "those cups are for water only and we say you taking soda multiple times" and then walked away. She never let us defend ourselves and kept giving us disapproving looks. No we didn't steal any soda. It was water the whole time.

Just imagine how good their fries would be if they would fry them until they are done or crispy. Life would be grand. Their saving grace is location, location, location. About as mediocre as it gets friends. Roll the dice.

I don't go to DQ much but on the hottest day last week.. I got a cone there! I didn't have any problem here. They were nice to me!!!

Yes it's fast food. And mostly crappy. But, it's fast food that I can't easily get at home. And they have Blizzards. Blizzards! I grew up with a Dairy Queen across the street from my house, and I have a bit of an addiction. Service was fine, the location provided some shade, which was pleasant. Some outdoor seating would have been nice, but they had a curb and I had a Blizzard.

The employees are nice but the quality of the food is pretty terrible. I am consistently disappointed by their burgers. Fries have no flavor either. Only reason to go is for the ice cream.

This is by far the worst Dairy Queen in Portland. Several weeks ago I drove through the drive-through, ordered, and was then told they were out of ice cream. Today, I ordered a Blizzard, and the guy who waited on me informed me that it appeared I had a problem with him. What? I said no, and then he continued to press the issue, aggressively, until I asked for my money back and drove away. This place has all kinds of bad karma going on. You'd think a Dairy Queen would be a Dairy Queen would be a Dairy Queen, but in this case, you better ignore the fact that they have ice cream (if they even do) and face the reality that if you patronize this place, you will be treated like garbage.

Kids frozen treats on the cheap. Drive through. Close to our home. Friendly staff. Quality food. Dairy Queen (DQ) is the real deal... While there are a couple of places out there on the East coast that may dispute this... DQ is the original creator of soft serve ice cream. They know what they're doing and our local joint in Sellwood is a slam dunk when it comes to a 'healthier' kid meal alternative, or a summertime kid cone to celebrate the heat in style. I like the fact that kid meals don't come with 'stuff' (toy, trinket, commercial b.s.) and that you can opt out of the frozen treat and use the 'token' to get the treat at a later date. Thanks DQ ~

Nothing says "Old School" like a banana split, and nobody does it better then DQ! Sure if I really wanted to relive my childhood, I would go for the dilly bar, but I remember as a kid, I knew I had hit the big time when I was allowed to order a banana split. No longer regulated to a dipped ice cream cone, or single topping sundae, I know I had made it. Ordering that first banana split was like moving from the kids table to the big table at Thanksgiving. My wife and I recently visited our local DQ, and boy did I surprise her when I ordered that cold perfection of a desert, complete with whip cream, soft serve ice cream, and three toppings (substituting the Pineapple with butterscotch of course) and my daily recommended allowance of fruit. Since Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor is no more...DQ is my current destination for old school treats.

Shorted by $.50. Ordered at the drive up. Was given the wrong change. Clerk disappeared instantly, did not return when I called to him and guessed correctly that it was not worth my time or effort to park and go inside to be reimbursed.

A 5-star DQ! Wife loved the milkshake and the drivethru worked flawlessly. I prefer Burgerville's shakes though, and honestly I NEVER eat fastfood- until now. Go Burgerville!

Plusses are the ice cream items such as shakes and sundaes. They are great here. Another plus is the customer service. The staff is friendly and quick. I can't give it a higher score though, because the food wasn't that good. I had a crispy fish burger and it just wasn't very good. In fact I only ate half and threw the rest away. The fries were decent but there are other fast food places that do them better. Bottom line is go there for dessert but not for the food.
