Just ordered from this place for the first time this week via Delivery Dish. So amazing!! We ordered the chicken and broccoli in oyster sauce, as well as the poached salmon in curry sauce surrounded by green beans! That was the most perfectly cooked piece of Salmon I have had in a long time! The hint of lemon grass was a nice touch! The presentation was beautiful as well! Everything was seasoned to perfection and prepared beautifully!!! Will definitely go back for more!!

Shrimp salad is flavorful and the prawns are worthy of being called prawns. Entrees are nothing special, a bit bland. Thai eggrolls are described as being made with rice paper wrappers but are not so celiacs and gluten intolerant be aware.

I was really happy with the last couple of meals we've had here, and we plan to be back again soon. The curries are all very good, and so was the larp and stir fry. It would be great if they had kids play area and lower dinner prices, but portion sizes are pretty good and they are very friendly. If you've been to one of the previous restaurants in this location, you'll be surprised at how much better it looks inside now. Usually, I'd say a restaurant with the word "authentic" or "classic" in its name is probably anything but- but, in this case, it is actually classic Thai cuisine.

I eat my fair share of Thai food from the multiple carts in downtown, near work. And Classic Thai has to be one of the best Thai places I've tried. I don't tend to stick to one place due to the assortment of options downtown, however, living in Sellwood, I would continue to come back for more. I ordered the Panang curry(one of my favorites) and its quite possibly the best I've had in Portland. From the outside this place looks unassuming and just like another Thai place. Don't let it fool you. Once you step inside, they have really stepped up that game with nice decor and a warming feel. They really turned the space around to make it their own and it shows. I hope that this place doesn't end up having to close due to the many other options in Sellwood. When it comes to Thai in the area, this place sets the mark to beat.

I placed an order through delivered dish which arrived almost exactly when it was estimated to.The food is acceptable, but not great. If you like actual heat in your food, you're going to be sorely disappointed. I ordered the pad kee mao, hot with chicken. I got mild spicy. I ordered duck curry, hot. I got mild spicy. The pad kee mao was cold in spots. The spicyness of my "hot" food was just a smidge over "black pepper", but still under "a conservative amount of sriracha" I'd order again if I was in the mood for not-spicy thai food because if you ignore the fact my food was supposed to BE SPICY, it was an okay meal. Though paying $4 for delivery not including tip for mediocre food... maybe I'd just settle for making a grilled cheese sandwich at home.

Pumpkin Curry was very tasty - flavorful and rich. The Pad Thai did not disappoint. We will definitely be returning!

On this "Ice Day", my wife and I were looking for something to warm is up. We also wanted something close. We've passed this diamond in the rough at least 200 hundred times, and we just decided to order. We went online, set up our order as we wanted it (fairly specific at that), paid through PayPal with tip included and I maybe sat for 10 minutes before getting up to go there. It was a 5 minute walk. I got in, waited less than 30 seconds until I was greeted very courteously by the host who apologized that it would be another minute for my food. I sat back down thinking I was early. He came back out about a minute later with my box (3 full entrees, 2 sides and an appetizer), and my printed out order that all I had to do was sign. I was impressed at the ease of the pickup. I got home and we started chowing down. My son got shrimp fried rice (Not Spicy as asked and they came through perfectly), my wife got the spicy fried duck with a side of noodles (she stated it was perfectly spicy for her as she asked for mild), and I got the crab fried rice (I asked for no cilantro and they put NONE on as requested). We also got Crab Wrappers (pleasantly surprised to find them handmade). Excellent from start to finish. We've found a new staple in our house.

Don't be put off by the location (set back from the street and next to Plaid Pantry), the food is outrageously good; clean, fresh and spiced to order. The decor is modern as is the stylish presentation. The service is generally fast, but that's mostly because this gem still remains largely undiscovered. I've never had anything but good food here, but don't miss the Yum Crispy Balls, the Pumpkin Curry or the Salmon.

Great Thai take-out. Solid pad thai (I usually get it with tofu - the chicken can be a bit dry), good pad see ew (I got mine with beef), and good panang curry. We also really like the crab fried rice (typically on special). Prices are fair & you get a lot of food! Take out is usually ready in 10-15 with call-ahead. Our go to!

This location has been a mediocre Thai restaurant a few times but not this time!!! The food is super fresh, on point and delicious!!! Every dish is made with care. The traditional noodle dishes are all amazing and taste as good as they look. The restaurant is not crowded but don't let that scare you off. Lots of good options for vegetarians. Check them out!

I really want to love this place, but I've been continually disappointed with the food (been there 4 times)--particularly the soups, papaya salad, and curries. I return because it's convenient, and I like to support local businesses. But having been to Thailand, I can say with confidence I've had better food at pop-up joints on the beach or the streets in Bangkok. And I can list at least a dozen Thai places in Portland that surpass this place in food quality. I am beginning to wonder why every restaurant in Westmoreland is just "meh." Come on people of Westmoreland--raise your standards!

Very tasty and super friendly staff, had the pumpkin curry with chicken, only complaint is that it could have been a tad "hotter" but it had a good amount of spice in it and everything tasted quite fresh. I'd definitely eat here again.

I tried the Pad Thai with Tofu on the first day Classic Thai opened. It's like my litmus test for all Thai restaurants. It was very delicious, I'll be back. Wish they had a better presence online because I'm afraid they'll end up closing like the other thai restaurants in that location. Something Classic Thai Cuisine did right (that the previous restaurants didn't) was to remodel the restaurant into a cozy spot that people will *want* to eat in. They did a really good job. Now they just need to get their name out there. Give it a try, you won't regret. UPDATE 12/4/13 I came back for lunch with a friend and it was fabulous. Had Pad Se Ew and a Red Curry dish. Loved them both. I frankly can't believe they're in my neighborhood. I used to have to drive to E-San for Thai food this good. They even give you a complimentary brothy soup when you dine in. I love this place. Pad Thai is still good, had that again another day.

I really enjoyed this place. I ordered the tofu pad kee Mao and salad rolls. Both tasted great. Not too salty, right amount of spices, and great texture. I ordered to go and they were pretty quick. The inside of the restaurant was very clean, modern, and inviting. I wish they did a little more on the outside of the place so people can see how great this place is! The person who was at the counter was incredibly friendly. That's always a plus for me.

The chicken yum balls - simply one of the most delicious meals - of any cuisine that I have had anywhere. Perfect blend / range of flavors and textures.

Evil . jungle. Noodle. You stole my heart while leaving my wallet alone. Pad thai. You were right in there too. This is the third thai place in this location in just 4 years and I do so hope they take root. Great staff too. Friendly and thoughtful.

Great food, friendly staff. We have had the pad kee mao with tofu and it was delicious- not too sweet and not too spicy. The fresh rolls are alright, not my favorite but the peanut sauce that comes with them is great and so good with their sticky rice and steamed veggies. My parents had some of the meat dishes while they were visiting including crab wontons and chicken fried rice and loved them both.

Wow, from the outside, Classic Thai Cuisine looks very unassuming. But, from the inside, it's warm and inviting, colorful and bright with really delicious food! We loved our curried rice with BBQ'd chicken and also their coconut shrimp -- you can really taste the coconut and it's not at all greasy: a real accomplishment in the world of fried shrimp! Prices are reasonable and service is friendly. Classic Thai is a gem of a find!

Wow, Yummmmmmmm! We just had Classic Thai delivered to work (Downtown Portland) via Delivered Dish. I am extremely pleased! I ordered the #89 which is an Asian Sausage Fried Rice, that also comes with your choice of meat, i got chicken. I love Chinese sausage, so this is spectacular! The flavors are all excellent, the rice is cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend eating here, i look forward to trying the food fresh from the restaurant!

I have eaten at several Thai restaurants in the Sellwood, Milwaukie, Gladstone area that are in strip malls. Don't let the exterior fool you for Classic Thai. The interior is inviting with the option to sit at a booth. This place isn't an up scaled food cart. We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer which were delicious dipped in the warm peanut sauce accompanying the rolls. The classic peanut sauce noodle lovers dish was fair. The Mango Curry on the other hand was incredible. It was flavorful with chunks of mango. The dish had spice but was not hot. We had leftovers and took them home. I was already looking forward to lunch the next day with the Mango Curry and rice and wondered if the dish would last through the night in our refrigerator. We have tried many Thai restaurants and this will be the place we go for ambiance, food presentation, flavor and venturing into new food territories beyond Pad Thai.

We just ate at Classic Thai for the third time, and wow, it's really good. This time, three of us shared the papaya salad, pad basil 'kra-pao' and Lana's favorite noodle, all served vegetarian (tofu, no fish sauce). This restaurant's food seems fresher, less sweetened and more satisfying than what I've eaten at other Thai places around town. I feel lucky it's right in my neighborhood. Classic Thai is so much better than its location would suggest. Sandwiched between the old Masonic temple and a Plaid Pantry, and set back from the sidewalk with parking in front, it doesn't have much street presence. But once you walk inside, it's really nice. The decoration is attractive, seating is comfortable and the owner makes you so welcome. And then, of course, the food....so, so good. Highly recommended, and worth a trip if you don't live in Sellwood-Moreland.

Don't get me wrong, this is a very good restaurant. I just have so many choices for Thai food that are great that I can't really go over 3/5 (I'd vote 3.5 if I had the chance) after getting lunch here twice. The food is well cooked, and the service is great. I feel bad about the three because my only major complaint is that the food is seriously missing something as far as flavor. I got my food extra hot, but it was also covered in crushed red peppers. The tofu cubes were fairly well cooked, but also lacking in flavor. They looked wonderful, but there just wasn't much taste in the tofu The eggs in the Pad Se Ewe were well cooked, and the noodles were excellent. Maybe I just have had bad luck when I've eaten here, but I'm just not excited to go back. If I lived nearby like I used to (they operated under a different name) I'd probably go more. I didn't ask for more heat either time either, which is my own fault. I'm sure if I had asked them to make it spicier they would have helped because the staff was incredibly friendly. I got my food to go though, so I didn't realize that it was kind of bland until I had already gotten back to the office or home. I'm sure I'll give them another chance, but so far I just can't give out more than a three to them.

Wow! After being a chef in a Asian kitchen for 4 years, it is hard to find places that compared to my thai coworkers talents. This place does it. No joke the best thai I have had in all of portland. The owners are so friendly and the service is as amazing as the food. It's very clean and and a relaxing atmosphere. We have tried everywhere else so don't bother with them - just head here!

Went here for lunch during a work day and was very impressed! The host was nice and the food was very fast, tasty and affordable. I ordered the Pad Thai (came out hot and pretty perfect, delicious!) and it came with a really flavorful, peppery soup as a starter. It's kind of hidden in a little shopping strip that seems like it's just laundromats or little markets, so I'd go before people figure out it's a great place, ha. I'll definitely be back!

We ordered the Bbq chicken to go and I will have to say some of the best chicken in Portland hands down. Also had the curry fried rice amazing !!

I would rate this place ok but not great. We had their spicy duck and a shrimp salad. The salad was quite nice but the duck was pretty bland and little chinesey. not terrible but not great either.

Having ordered food to go from here twice now we are in love and have decided to make it a regular treat when I don't feel like cooking. I really like how easy it is to order online (and pay in advance via Paypal) the food is ready quickly and the portions are generous. Things we've had, and loved, so far include the Chicken Satay, Coconut Prawns (delicious plum sauce, even my husband who is not as adventurous of an eater as I am liked it), Tom Ka Gai Soup (this is why we ordered tonight, I've got a cold and started craving the hearty spiciness of this soup), and Pad Mama Noodle (sooo yummy!!!!). I'm looking forward to trying many more things here and finding new favorites.

Delicious. Just had good delivered to NE Portland by Delivered Dish. Egg rolls crispy and food was hot. Best take away Thai I've had so far. Definite order again.

I felt pretty Meh about this place. It wasn't awful by any means, but I certainly wasn't blown away. I got the Pad kee mao and it was a little bland. I will probably come back for take-out someday. Service was quick and friendly!

Walking into the restaurant, I found the decor and space to be charming. The waitress greeted us as we entered and was very friendly. The food...missed the mark! We started out with the crab wrappers, which came out cold on the inside. My friend said it normal is hot to order. It seemed that they had prepared it beforehand because the part with the filling was not crispy. When we bought it to the attention of the waitress, it came back microwaved--evident by the cheese oozing out. Frying does not take long! Prepare the wonton ahead of time but cook it when ordered. The portion of cream cheese versus imitation crab was overwhelming cheesy. Furthermore, I had asked for my Pad Thai to be spicy, as in hot. It came out with no heat and the sauce was too sweet. My friend dines here frequently, she had told me their curry dishes were good not so much the noodles. I like the location and service...I might give it another shot.

Aware of food sensitivities, gluten free, vegan, etc. They were happy to change the peanut sauce to accommodate a wheat allergy. Definitely good.

My favorite Thai restaurant in Portland! I highly recommend their Yum Crispy Balls appetizer and sweet and sour chicken. Both have great flavor and the sweet and sour chicken isn't breaded, which I LOVE. Their service is quick, friendly and consistent. This restaurant is a must try.

So good! I had the volcano beef and my husband had the spicy noodle something (listed under pad Thai on the menu) we shared and were not disappointed! We highly recommend this place. The place is quiet and comfortable, the staff is lovely and the food is some of the best we've had (and we eat a LOT of Thai food)

This was my first time at this restaurant. Came during a luch time on Wednesday, and restaurant was empty. Place was clean. I ordered Pad Ginger Chicken lunch special. A waitress brought small cup of rice soup ans water. In about 3-4 minites I received my order (see picture). The order was small (for me), and I left hungry. Food tasted OK. I've had much better Pad Ginger Chicken at other Thai places. There are several Thai restaurants that are much better.

I have spent a good chunk of time in the Lanna region of Thailand and have even visited the tribal people up there and this place was just OK. We ordered a green curry, veggie (unfried) spring rolls, and vegetarian Tom Yum. The food was fine, but my only gripe was that I didn't order it spicy enough! Apparently medium equals not spicy at all. The coconut juice was good, but a little syrupy...Fantastic staff however and reasonable prices.

We went here for a quick lunch, we happened to be inside "happy hour" prices, which I guess on Saturdays are just in the afternoon. So we ordered several appetizers off of that menu, and I had the tom kha gai. The soup was really good, the rest of it I could take or leave. Nothing was glaringly bad, but it was nothing to write home about.

Best thai food in Portland. There pad thai has no equal, and for those who like a little more spice their volcano beef and spice thai noodles can not be beaten. I will be eating here regularly

We had previously ordered Classic Thai through a delivery service (D-Dish) and absolutely loved the food, so much so that we wanted to order some directly to be picked up since we were driving right past the place. I called in my order for some Vegetable Red Curry, and requested extra veggies and some peanut sauce, and my husband went in to pick it up. Upon returning home he was upset regarding the cost of the food, as he had been charged over $23! He had even confirmed with the employee working there when he went to pick it up to make sure he had the right order, which the employee confirmed the prices were accurate. Thinking it was absolutely ridiculous to pay over $23 for some curry with a little extra veggies and a side of peanut sauce, I pulled up their website to view pricing, and the order should have costed no more than $14.50 according to their posted prices. So we were overcharged by almost $10. The food might be decent, but we definitely wont be returning to a company that rips their customers off for close to double price on one dish.

The green curry with tofu was really good! The salad rolls were the worst I have ever had, full of shredded iceberg lettuce and a too small piece of tofu. The peanut sauce that came with the salad rolls was just okay. We asked for brown rice with the curry and it was a very small portion turned out on a plate like a can of cat food. Two stars overall but that curry made me bump it up to three.
