FYI foodies. Chipotle is the only fast food restaurant I eat at occassionaly because this company is committed to sustainable and organic--respect for animals and environment--good quality. I am going to share my email response I had with a Chipotle executive about their ingredients. Here is the response: "Some of the items we serve are organic, but we also look at the big picture and use other metrics for selecting our foods. These include sourcing naturally raised meats, serving dairy from pasture-raised cows and sourcing our produce locally when in season and geographically available." "As of current, a large portion of the following tasty treats are organic: avocados, black beans, pinto beans, brown rice, cilantro, jalapenos, and oregano. In terms of GMO's, the only food items we serve that could contain GMOs are our soft corn tortillas. Any customer looking to avoid GMOs entirely can eat a bowl, burrito, soft flour tacos, crispy corn tacos, or a salad without worry." "We're still a work in progress, but we're certainly proud of how far we've come and couldn't have done it without the support of fans like you. I hope we see you in the land of tasty treats again soon, Roger." I was impressed! I am happy to support Chipotle--when hungry for Mex!

Inconsistent. Burnt meat. Cold dry rice. Slimy veggies. Long line. They need some adults working here to take charge. The kids think it's a time to have a laugh and chill when I'm jus trying to get my burrito . Chill at home. Take some care with my food because an $8 burrito isn't even cheap.

Close to the office for a quick lunch but they seem to give you smaller portions than other locations. The staff was alright, didn't mention the guac was ectra, good thing I already knew.

Worst chipotle order I ever got. Less meat and quantity than the one in NE wieldler street. Tortillas are not fresh.

Like a moth to a flame, I manage to find my way to a Chipotle no matter what city I find myself in. Yes this is a chain, but at least I know what to expect. It is a fast, cheap, and safe gluten free dining option. A pretty hard combination to find at times, especially after working late at the office and not wanting to stray far from the hotel for a meal. The design of this location is pretty good from others that I have seen in my travels. I do like how they a sectioned off the line and created a separated queue from the seating area. The seating area itself has a decent amount of tables. As for the food, it is the standard fare. The taste of some of the ingredients seems to taste a bit off from what I am used to in other locations of the US. The steak and rice tends to seem a bit bland at times. The workers are good about changing their gloves when I alert them of my gluten allergy. They do have a process of changing out the line spoons, which seems to be a Portland protocol as I haven't seen this done anywhere else in my travels. I do have to give the staff credit for their knowledge on gluten and cross contamination as they do try to take extra precautions to eliminate the risks. Overall, Chipotle is a good cheap GF dining option.

I just love this place. Every Chipotle I've been to has been consistent in sizing, service and speed. Still trying to find a way to purchase a week's worth of chicken and lime rice.

They're good, but be careful of hidden calories. I was getting the chicken burrito for ages, before I realized that the tortilla itself has nearly 300 calories in it. Also, if you don't want things included in your burrito, they can be a bit snide about making up the difference in other things. Otherwise, they're pretty solid.

Hey, I know it's fast food, but it is a cut above most crappy places. Food is consistently fresh and flavorful, service at this location has always been very good, and it's there when you need it. For a quick Cali-Mex meal, you can't go wrong. This is not where you go when looking for culinary creativity, but it hits the spot when you need a quickie burrito.

Okay, I don't want to sound like a groupie, but I have been to Chipotle all over this country and this location is by far the best! Yea I know, they all serve burritos.......but the service here is well above standard. In my opinion service is what will separate the successful businesses from the not so successful. This place still has that "new burrito smell" since it recently opened, and I really hope they continue to focus on super service. It makes it really easy to NOT walk down the street to Taco Del Mar when you know you'll get greeted with a smile here. Kudos to you and your team, and welcome to the 'hood!

It's like subway but only Mexican! You walk down the line and choose what you want in your burrito! I like the chicken burrito, black beans, lettuce, green salsa, sour cream, and cheese! Love their guacamole too

I had such a great experience at Chipotle that I feel I must write a review! From time to time, I take my 3 kids there for dinner. Chipotle is always friendly, and very accomodating and flexible as far as making my kids' burritos/tacos/etc just the way they want them. We are not big fast food consumers, but Chipotle has me thinking this is a somewhat healthier alternative, so I feel OK about feeding this to my kids on occasion. This particular evening, one of my kids (spice wimp) ordered a chicken burrito, against my better judgment since I know there is some kick to the chicken. Not surprisingly, it was too spicey for him... when I went to order a carnitas version to replace it, on my nickel, Chipotle insisted on comping it, guacamole and all. I thought this was above and beyond as far as customer service. Additionally, at least two staff personnel came to check on us to see if the second burrito was more to his liking, and to make sure everyone else was doing well. Chipotle can feel on the pricey side, especially for extras like guacamole, but their portions are generous, the food is good quality, the service is great, and we will keep coming back.

My office adores this Chipotle. We go at least once a week and use the online ordering option, which is awesome! The chicken salad with honey-chipotle viniagrette makes me wish "Chipotle Day" was every day and not just Wednesday at our office. The staff at this particular restaurant are outstanding. They go out of their way to make you happy and full.

Dropped in for lunch on Monday and loved this Chipotle's atmosphere. The line moved quickly and the servers were friendly. I had a grilled chicken burrito with rice, black beans, sour cream, guacomole, cheese. It was GREAT! Definatley will be going back to this location. Loved the people!

Chipotle has great food and their prices are fair. I love the fajita burrito. One time the steak burrito I ordered was way too chewy. When I told the manager he apologized and gave me a card for a free meal. Very classy. The staff checks in on the diners while they are eating and will even clear your table. In other words, they treat customers right.

I would like to thank Chipotle. I am a diagnosed Celiac. When I go in,they remove all spoons and serving tools from their food and replace it with new ones. I normally love this Chipotle location, but today not so much. I was carrying my tiny puppy in my purse and had his leash in hand for extra security. I thought I could pop in and grab a bowl to go and sit with my dog on the patio since it was listed as dog-friendly for outside seating. There was no sign posted stating no animals and I had all 5 pounds of him contained in my carrying bag. I was told I had to leave and they refused to serve me a bowl to go. How rude! I wasn't planning on staying in the restaurant to eat and I still can't get served? How inconvenient for those who are by themselves with small animals. I will never eat here again and I will make sure to tell everyone they are not friendly to dog owners.

Everyone knows what the food is about at a chipotle, so I will just say that the staff here are awesome. More often than not they are smiling and extremely helpful. It's one of the only places I've been where the managers(shift leaders) are kind to both customers and staff. Excellent!!!

    (5)
  • Olivia V.

Eh... It's chipotle. Sometimes you crave it, even if it's a little on the cold side. The food is typical, but the reason I had to take it down to 3 stars, is because the staff. When they aren't busy, they all just lean against the walls; or huddle together like a bunch of gossipy middle schoolers. Like 7 of them at a time, just laughing and yelling at each other. Not that I should expect it to be a "professional" establishment or anything. At least they're having fun.

This Chipotle is pretty gross. I usually love Chipotle but today I had the worst chicken bowl of my life. I ordered a bag of chips and ended up with a tiny handful, all of which were stale. Almost every piece of chicken in my bowl was burnt to a crisp and ruined the flavors of every other food in the bowl. Sad, sad day. I love the downtown Chipotle but this location is b-a-d. They also charge slightly more than the one downtown for whatever reason.

For a chain, it isn't bad. This is usually the closest place that is open for late night dinner runs. Unfortunately, I don't think I've ever had warm food here. Maybe its a thing, or maybe its because I only want a burrito at 9 o'clock at night. My only qualm is how much extra they want for a spoonful of guacamole, its criminal.

First time at Chipotle. Friendly staff, great choices- the guacamole is ridiculously good. Added bonus: Pacifico!

  • Daniel B.

I love Chipotle's food, and it's one of the best ways to get a healthy meal quickly in my opinion. So that's great about this place. This location, however, is sometimes a bit spotty on service and speed. It seems they don't always have their act together on the line, and you often have to wait for certain ingredients or whatever, even when there's virtually nobody there. It's ok to have to wait for something in general, but speed is why you go to Chipotle - it should be quick, in and out. They seem to be less busy than your average Chipotle, so maybe they have trouble keeping things steady....? But of course, it's still great food.

I come to this Chipotle often, but the last few times I've visited, the service and quality have been quite sub-par, today's being the worst. When I arrived at approximately 5:20PM there were only a few people in the place so I expected that the attentiveness and quality would have been better. I ordered a burrito to go with half brown rice and half white rice with steak & sofritas with a side of chips. The portions of rice and meat I received were stingy and made me frown. I was haphazardly handed off to another employee to proceeded to be equally stingy with cheese and salsa. The burrito was then wrapped so poorly that it fell apart before I had a chance to unwrap it (by peeling the foil off of one end while keeping the rest of it wrapped like you're supposed to). I discovered that the rice was undercooked and grainy, the steak was overcooked, and the sofritas were cold (Note I only live a block away). To really drive the nail in the coffin on my meal, the chips were all stale. Now, I used to be a kitchen manager for Chipotle before I moved here from Ohio, so I know what the consistency and quality SHOULD be. This meal really missed the mark, and so did the attentiveness of the line employees. I WANT to love to go there often. There are so many other good burrito places in the neighborhood though that if the consistency is slipping this much, I might just begin going elsewhere. PLEASE train your employees better. I love Chipotle, and I want to continue to do so.

So if you do online ordering.....(which is the best) and in the special request box ask for a picture or a high five....the staff actually does it!!!! Love, love Chipotle. I get that it's fast food, but the quality is fantastic. Custom made burritos, burrito bowls, and tacos. It's fairly nutritious and an easy quick meal. The only thing that I'm not a big fan of is their chips. A little greasy and too over limed.

This is how things go down in my family: My brother and I stopped in here last night for takeout after a movie. He orders two chicken burritos (one for him one for his wife) and I order a barbacoa burrito. He goes up to pay and the guy asks him what he ordered. Brother: Three burritos. Oh, two chicken and my sister got a barbacoa, if that makes a difference. Chipotle guy: Ya, the Barbacoa is a little more. Brother: That's cool. Of course my sister always costs me more money. Chipotle guy: Ya, family usually does. Brother: That's ok. Someday when I'm old she'll have to wipe my ass. ... Cut to the actual burrito. The barbacoa beef was great. I topped it with brown rice, black beans, pico de gallo, tomatillo salsa, and lettuce. I wasn't expecting the salsa to have so much heat, but it was flavorful none-the-less. The rice was flavorful and I'm glad they offer black beans instead of just refried. I made it about halfway through before giving up and throwing the towel in. I remember The Burrito Bar down the street being a little better, but I can't complain too much because Chipotle just hits the spot from time to time.

This location has great service and always has quality food. I typically only eat here on weekends or in the evenings and there is never much of a line. So, if you're looking for some decent food at a decent price...this is a good choice.

I go here because it is close to my work. The food is OK but, like one reviewer noted, my chicken was undercooked today. Disgusting. The staff, however, is always pleasant and seem to work really hard. My real gripe, WTF is up with the music!?! My god, it is a lunch place not a night club. My ears come close to bleeding when I am in there and it is like that every time. Impossible to have a conversation or think straight for that matter. And while I applaud the eclectic nature of the music some of it is really bizarre and over the top. I've actually felt awkward to the point of embarrassed at times when some extremely repetitive french avant-garde stuff was playing. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't BLASTING! Seriously, people come there for a quick lunch spent chatting with a friend / co-worker or just wanting a moment to relax before going back to work. Turn it down please. Totally unnecessary.

This was my first visit to a Chipotle, which I only heard about after watching a TV show. The food tasted fresh and I overall like the flavors, but it was lukewarm. The beer, however, was tasty and cold. I would try Chipotle again if I thought the food could be served at the proper temperature. Hot food tastes better when it's hot, but serving food that's cooled off is a public safety issue. I'm a nurse and have also worked in food service at a Meals on Wheels site. Yes, that was me, taking the temperature of your green beans before serving them. Yes, that was me, taking temperatures on the ward. Both measurements tell a story. PS- the BBQ tofu thing they serve is delicious, but also lukewarm.

  • Ben R.

I would mark this as an "average" Chipotle. Every so often I get a poor quality product, but most of the time it's good. The one time I wrote a complaint in online, the manager offered to make it up to me and a few of my close friends. While I never took him up on the gesture, it shows that they do at least listen to customer feedback.

Close to my office for a quick lunch. Regardless of line size always fast and efficient. Can eat healthy and paleo here...I always order salad no beans, rice, corn...double meat, pico, hot salsa, extra lettuce! In out quick lunch.

Seriously!? Why did I go back in this place? I should have learned the first 2 times I wasted my time and money here. I got a hankering for Chipotle tonight, and decided I would just see if 3rd time's a charm and give it another shot. I bought my usual- a chicken burrito bowl....and the CHICKEN WAS UNDERCOOKED. The rice was oily and hard. The guacamole was also oily (?!). I did not let this one slide. I went back and asked for my money back. Was greeted by the manager who has a very weak handshake,....he said he was "sorry", and got me my money back. Didn't seem to be very concerned about the problem at hand.....but at least I got my money back. I am NEVER going to this location again.....and I recommend that nobody else does. Go to the Lloyd District location instead!

I hope it doesn't have to go lower, but this Chipotle has had much worse tasting food lately. The last couple times, the chicken has been old and bland, the tortillas stale and the chips are flavorless. We've lived out here almost 10 years now, and I didn't visit a Chipotle until 2009. This saddens me, b/c it is my favorite Mexican fast food establishment. This particular Chipotle was very clean and not as empty on a Wednesday afternoon @ 2:30pm as one would expect. The people working the counter were extra perky and very nice. One of the things I love about Chipotle (besides the easy beanless options) is the portions. They are usually huge and I feel like I've overeaten almost every time. This was no exception. Giant fajita carnitas burrito w/guacamole. It made my afternoon so much more productive. Parking was a breeze, but I'm definitely not going to guarantee that every time as it's in the Pearl. So stop on by. It's quick and filling.

The downtown Pearl district Chipotle is a very vibrant spot with a great set up. Upon walking in, there was no line and all the staff welcomed me with warm greetings and smiles. There was certainly a lot of staff for what they do. They all seemed very happy and looked like they enjoyed their job. Created a great atmosphere and improvement in their service. They were very busy with a long line when I was walking out though, so looked like the large staff group is there for a reason. I ordered the chicken bowl which was delicious. They gave me great portions of each item and I was satisfied. The food tasted fresh and looked great. Chipotle never fails.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
