Not bad!! We had a two-hour layover until our next flight back home, and the selection of places to eat were hard to choose from... as in, nothing sounded that appetizing at the moment! After about 15 minutes of pacing, my boyfriend and I saw his cousin ordering here, so we decided to give it a shot. The menu was confusing for us, which is why we opted no at first, because we couldn't find the prices. When we finally found the bowl pricing, we each decided to order the medium-size Yumm Bowl, my boyfriend's with chicken. Aaaaaaaand~ there will be no complaints of false advertising today, as it was, indeed, pretty yummy! At first, I was thrown off by the sauce, and thought it a little weird, but after mixing up my bowl more the flavors all came together quite nicely. My boyfriend mixed some of the complimentary soy sauce with some sriracha sauce to add to our bowls, which really brought it to another level of tasty :) For both bowls came out to less than $15, and we were pretty full for about 5 hours. I'm pretty satisfied with our choice to try Cafe Yumm!, and if there possibly happens to be any locations in Northern California I haven't discovered yet (not sure if this is a franchise?) I'd try it again!

I'm sorry but this so-called fabulous "sauce" that everyone raves about should be bottled as Cafe Yuck!!! I ordered the yummlette and although that part was fine - the disgusting sauce ruined it. I couldn't even finish it - what a waste (especially since you pay too much at the dang airport anyway). So disappointed :(

I do like the food at Cafe Yumm so this review is more about process/food containers. If you order a bowl, you get everything crammed into a cardboard bowl that is more vertical than is practical. The food comes layered in the bowl and it is stuffed so full, you cannot stir it up properly. Hubby said one of his bites was just sauce, not very appealing. They should rethink these containers for this location. Like I mentioned, I enjoyed my food. I got an edamame bowl. Make sure if you are vegan/plant based to watch ingredients as it is standard to put cheese & sour cream in them.

Absolutely terrible! Menu looks like heathy food. They use organic words a lot. Ordered teriyaki chicken with brown rice. Damn, the worst ever teriyaki sauce, not only cheap store style, but cold as well. Same for the chicken, really, is it that hard to do this right? Rice didn't taste fresh either. Nope, won't be going back. Get much better teriyaki from mall food courts than this. Sad that I even compare this to a food court, this is one but at the mall the meal is at least cooked hot to order.

As airport food goes, this is awesome--and economical. An airport (or airline) employee recommended three places to eat--this was one of them. I love that you can get breakfast all day. My gf enjoyed her dish (a variation on huevos rancheros, I think). I ordered a tempeh reuben and was devastated (okay, maybe not devastated) that they were out of tempeh. The employee made a quick save when I was offered a veggie burger in place of the tempeh. Served on marble rye with lots of gooey cheese, sauerkraut that was both adequate in amount and not too salty, red onion, and other deliciousness--we couldn't have been happier.

Lots and lots and lots of people love Cafe Yumm! I however can't get on the LOVE band wagon. I think it's just average. First, it is supposedly healthy, but I'm not so sure the Yumm Sauce is that healthy. Full disclosure, I did zero research on this. I just assume because it's really good and so many people like it that the sodium content has to be thru the roof. The prices are reasonable and it is quick. So they have that going for them. The biggest beef I have is the minimal amount of protein they give you. When I order chicken Teryaki I'd like some chicken with that. Instead they insist I'd rather have a pound of brown rice and some small slices of chicken. I better not drink any water or I'll swell up! Overall, it tastes fine but it is nothing to write home about. I apologize to those who pledge allegiance to the Yumm. I'll sit down while y'all do that.

Blech. Ordered the bento bowl with chicken. The chicken was dry and overcooked, and the teriyaki sauce is bad. Not sure how they managed to screw up teriyaki sauce, but they did. The portions are fine, and the prices are fine, but all that means is that you get quite a bit of crappy tasting food with your meal. Highly recommend not going there.

It's Cafe Yumm - what else is there to say?? If you don't know this chain, it's another take on healthy food with bowls. The basic Yumm bowl has rice, beans, Yumm sauce, salsa, protein and toppings (avocado, tomatoes, Tillamook cheese, olives). I love the edamame bowl with tofu, although their tofu can be a bit dry. The Yumm sauce is a staple - I find it a tad salty but they sell bottles of the stuff, so it's definitely doing something right! Portions are small. I am usually filled up with a small at most restaurants, but here I need a medium or large if hungry. Friendly and quick service at this location and not extraordinarily priced for an airport location. Very pleased!

This place has a lot of potential, but just did not deliver. The staff were fighting amongst themselves in front of the customers and complaining about one another. The service was slow - probably 15-20 minutes to get a bagel sandwich and a yumm wrap. This is the last thing you want in an airport, where people are trying to catch their flights. Now the food: - bagel sandwich with eggs and turkey. This was very good with a fresh tomato and Tillamook cheese (my fav). The bagel was a little dry though - yumm wrap...I'm honestly not sure if this can be considered a wrap. We were confused when they gave us a fork and knife, but once we opened the container, we understood. It was an open-faced wrap that used a flaky dry tortilla. Bummer because the insides were actually quite good. This place is a franchise, so hopefully the other places have it figured out.

Good enough for me for an airport bite that doesn't mean I'm shoving French fries or because it-has-salsa-on-it-we'll-call-it-Mexican in my mouth. It's located in the Gate C compound next to some pretty competitive options, but the DIYness of this place won me over (before I saw pho - pho would have definitely earned my vote if it hadn't been blocked!). Instead of opting for the DIY bowl, however, I chose the Nori Wrap, which consisted of a half plate of Jasmine rice, and split half plate of sad-looking edamame and "tangy" Asian slaw, served with a 2 tablespoon-ish cup of Toasted Black Sesame dressing and a packet of about 5 seaweed "wraps". For about $8, I was handed a heavy box of food that I could assemble at my leisure. The "tangy" slaw was missing its tang, or any of the other descriptors that came with it. It was just slaw, sadly. Though, after learning that this prized airport meal runs about 968 calories, I'm actually glad it came out as dry as a bone. The rice was prepared just fine, and there was a lot of it. The edamame didn't really have any flavor and looked wilted, but tasted as edamame does. All in all, I didn't feel disgusting after eating it (and am pretty sure it was more like 400-500 calories the way it was served to me), but it didn't make me want to Nori all over the airport, either. Service was friendly and the meal was served fast, which I can't say about all the airport eateries (looking at you, slow as molasses cafe that welcomes you at the Gate A-C terminal).

I'm loving the new eateries at the Portland Airport. The best part is the fact that they replaced 1-2 restaurants with more like 5 new places to eat. Just having the diversity and more options is great. I've never been to a Cafe Yumm before, but I've seen the chain outside of the airport before. I didn't really know what kind of food they served, but once I saw that it was mostly fresh rice bowls, I was on board to try it for lunch. I ordered the original bowl in size medium without any added on protein. It was good, but not great. I loved that it was fresh, but my avocados looked a little sad. Also they add a special "Yumm sauce" and I'm not sure if I like or dislike the flavor yet. I would recommend asking them to halve the amount of sauce, though, because I think my bowl just had a bit too much. Overall, I like the type of food they were serving, so I'm willing to give it another shot, but I'm not completely sold yet.

I was in the airport and wanted to grab a bite to eat, so I decided to try this place. I would not recommend going here. For $8 I got not-so-yummy brown rice, extremely salty teriyaki sauce, and dry chicken. The above description pretty much sums up the food. At least the staff were friendly and the restaurant were clean.

This cafe yumm was delicious like all the others! Cafe yumm has never disappointed me. I came looking for breakfast, so I ordered the yummlette. It is the size of a medium, so I shared with my friend and we both thought it was delicious. The employee happily obliged to my request of adding avocado, even though it was not on the menu. The yummlette was great; it was filled with scrambled eggs, yumm sauce, salsa, brown rice. Healthy and delicious! Everyone who works there had a smile on their face and even walked the food out to us at the tables. We were so pleased we got a large edamame bowl to go to take with us on our plane ride for dinner. I got a large vegan bowl so they subbed cheese out for avocado. Overall, a cheap quick YUMM place to grab a bite for breakfast or lunch! Tip: ask for a bag of you are taking it to go. Also, you can make your bowl vegan by subbing avocado for cheese and sour cream. Or, you can sub your sour cream for their organic nonfat yogurt

After waiting approx 20 min, with 4 people in front of me, THIS is what I got in a breakfast quesadilla. I paid for extra cheese on this generous tortilla too. A great waiting show was listening to the slowly moving staff talk abt going for a break. Great opportunity, Portlandia

I am always willing to try new places. I mean, who wants to be in a food rut? Not me, that's for sure. I was excited to see new eateries at the airport and was down to try something new. I thought to myself, it has yumm in the name, let's try this place. I was very disappointed in my flavors from Cafe Yumm. Celebrity chef Graham Elliott spoke some perfectly truthful words, "if it grows together, it goes together." Not many of the flavor combinations at Yumm seems to follow these sage words of wisdom. Salsa and again, um no. Olives and Asian, no again. I find olives to be a very strong flavor and they do not go with a lot of things. The Yumm sauce is not what it says, it is blech to say the least. So if dinning at the Portland Airport, I do suggest skipping Cafe Yumm. I have read some good reviews. All Seem to be for the original bowl. But honestly, the Yumm sauce was so unappealing I cannot justify another try.

My Hot & Jazzy wasn't hot or jazzy which was a bummer. They forgot my jalapeño salsa and by the time I realized it, I was sitting on the plane. This is a newer location, so I suspect some kinks still need to be worked out, so I'm not too disappointed. I love CY and it's a great alternative to some of the other greasier choices but this location failed.

Cafe Yumm! just opened in Terminal C of PDX. Nice healthy bowls to take on the plane. I found their offerings to be the same as their other restaurants. My favorite is the original bowl with rice, beans, sauce, olives, cheese, avocado, sour cream and diced tomatoes. They have vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and poultry options so there is something for most everyone. Next on my list will be the Jazzy bowl!

I actually look forward to the next time I'm at this airport. We bought lunch to eat later on the plane. I got the original bowl without sour cream. They have real self-serve condiments here. I put braggs liquid amino acids on mine. 3 hours later over Arizona, it had soaked to perfection. My son put saracha sauce on his and was also pleased. The lady behind the counter also needs mentioning. I could tell she enjoyed her job as she presented all of us by name with our meals. It was a ritual that I hope to repeat.

Two stars for the service only: they honored my gluten free request for swapping out the flour tortilla of the breakfast quesadilla for corn. And they gave me a taste of their "yumm" sauce. I passed on that sauce because it was anything but yummy. It was bitter, an offensive color of b--y s--t b----n, needless to say, unappetizing. The description of the dish boasted organic eggs, mild green chilis, tillamook cheddar cheese, salsa and sour cream. So this would lead one to believe that there was going to be flavor. To my surprise, there was none! It was completely tasteless. The chillies tasted canned. Even the sour cream had no taste. The salsa? Forget about it. It was superfluous. Good thing I had my handy jacobsens salt tin in my purse. I was hungry and about to board a 4-1/2 hour flight so needed a filling meal. I ate the whole tasteless mess. Filling yet so unsatisfying.

Came here for a bagel before my flight, two other people came up and ordered after me and got their food before me. They both got some sort of wrap thing which looked like it may have been good if not for the lady making the food without wearing any gloves. Having worked in a kitchen that just grossed me out. The bagel was 'eh'. There are better places in PDX to get your food.

By far THE BEST airport food I've ever had. If you're ever in the Portland airport for any reason GO HERE. Quality service and food, and it was fast too!

If you're looking for food at the airport skip Cafe Yumm. I love cafe Yumm in Portland and Beaverton but this one isn't worth it. The service is slow and the breakfast is expensive and boring. I ordered Yumm!lette with no cheese the bowl was $7! That's the price of the large but in a medium bowl with egg, rice, and a couple tomatoes. My bowl came with no sauce so I had to go back and get some. I ate lunch here a month ago and I get the medium vegan (no cheese, no sour cream) bowl and in Beaverton they either substitute slaw or avocado but this location charges for those.

As someone who eats at PDX anywhere from 3 to 5 times a week, I was tickled at the idea of an added establishment with not only healthy, but vegan options. While I have, on several occasions, truly enjoyed what I ordered, my complaint would be with lack of consistency in quality, consistently questionable service and not getting what you pay for. I have asked for my dish vegan every time I've ordered, and have had two employees not only not know the meaning of vegan, but scoff when having it explained. Pretty simple, yes I want the tofu scramble instead of the egg scramble, and no thank you, I would not like cheese. I have also paid extra when subbing avocado for cheese and sour cream (supposedly included), only to have it left out of my order entirely. (This happened on two of my orders within the past 3 days). The orders also come up differently every time, sometimes almost soupy with YUMM sauce and other times missing ingredients listed as included in the dish on their menu. In addition, I've had egg subbed for tofu when the restaurant ran out of tofu. V.E.G.A.N....shall I spell it for you? If you're out of an ingredient at a busy location I totally get it, no biggie, but don't just sub ingredients for patrons that clearly have a moral aversion to consuming animal byproducts. If you work at a restaurant that caters to vegans and vegetarians, you might want to make sure you know, by definition, the meaning of those two terms. I bought myself a big container of YUMM sauce and will now be making my own YUMM bowls at home. Sorry Café Yumm, but you forever lost a customer at this location.

Make sure to check your order b4 u leave the area! Walked clear across terminal to sit and eat by my gate only to find out not tofu like I ordered. Didn't have enough time to change it . BE CAREFUL!!!

If you need to eat gluten-free or allergy friendly at Portland Airport, this is the place. I'm always starved while traveling, yet Cafe Yumm was able to deliciously accommodate multiple food allergies. I had a rice bowl with the Yumm sauce and veggies. Great experience, and highly recommended.

I think Cafe Yumm must be a fun place to work because everyone working there was having a great time. What they weren't doing was making much food. I waited for a very long time for a simple breakfast bagel. At first I thought it was because they were scrambling the eggs. They have a pretty sizable grill, so that was a good assumption. Imagine my surprise when they microwaved a giant pre-made egg patty. I can get a better and fresher breakfast sandwich almost anywhere in the airport. My egg was rubbery, and the overall sandwich wasn't great. I waited a really long time for this microwave masterpiece because the cashier forgot to put my order in. I'm not sure how that happens - there was only one other customer. (The fact that there was only one other customer should have been a clue!) There are so many food options at the Portland Airport, I won't be stopping back at Yumm and time soon.
