Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. You must also avoid Breakfast Platter and Pancake Platter from the menu. Pancakes and Cinnamon Roll from the breakfast menu are also off-limits for diabetics.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Can't go wrong with Burgerville. Best fast food out there besides In'N'Out. The Walla Walla onion rings are worth the stop alone. Good shakes & decent burgers. Is it just me, or does it get more expensive every time I stop in?!?!

Good food, drive thru menu placement is the worst I have ever seen. I think I have whiplash from trying to read the whole thing. They need to scoot it back about 5 feet

I normally like Burgerville ok and this one is really close to my house, but I couldn't believe the hostility of one of the employees here. Totally out of the blue and uncalled for. I'll stuck with a different location next time.

I have driven by several Burgerville's and always assumed they were Oregon's McDo's. Ummm, no! Thank goodness I saw the menu online (impressive) and gave it a go because, this place seriously rocks. In moderation, obviously. The spicy bean burger & salad was fantastic and CHEAP. The rosemary fries....yes, please! . Really friendly service too. Just try it

Fresh and tasty and a green, sustainable company! They have a good menu selection. Service is decent. A bit pricey for fast food in my opinion but that could be due to their sustainability efforts.

You know how people complain sometimes about food being lukewarm. Well, our burgers were not even that. We ordered a burger each and both came out cold! Clearly this wasn't some random fluke either since both were cold. And I ordered mine with no pickles, so it can't be that it was "pre-assembled". I don't know what's going on behind in the kitchen, but my guess is that they have a lot of cooked burgers lying around and just assemble (not cook) the thing when the order comes in. It's just sad that Five Guys doesn't have a branch nearer to downtown. You know, where your burgers are actually cooked on the spot; because the cashier screams out your order to the kitchen staff. The taste was mediocre - the beef didn't taste particularly fresh or beefy (i.e. I suspect most of it was filler). Their special sauce was nothing special. The fries were okay. I usually feel strongly about not wasting food, so even if it's only okay, I would at least try and finish it. I only rarely make exceptions and throw away really horrible food. I left about a third of my burger unfinished, which I gladly disposed of. To add insult to injury, all this cost almost $20! Heard so many good things about this chain, only to be disappointed. I'm hesitant to even try another branch. There is a Mcdonald's just two blocks down Powell.

Some of the best fast food I've had in a long time. Great cheeseburgers, fries, and pretty decent breakfast sandwiches. The "smoothies" take the cake, however. I use the quotes because the smoothies are way more like a milkshake than a smoothie, but maybe more healthy... or at least that's what I told myself while I stuffed my face with their Chocolate Monkey smoothie. SO delicious and creamy! Their staff is always really kind and helpful-they didn't complain that my mom and I ordered breakfast 3 minutes before they were done serving breakfast, as many other chains would have.

The meeting at my son's school was long, interactive, and ended with some good action points towards some improvements we all wanted. And to my 14 year-old son's credit, he sat through most of it and was even mildly engaged at times. Afterwards, he was "famished" and since I had a considerable amount of time until my plane back to Oakland left PDX, the ex-wife took us all to Burgerville. At 5'9", maybe 180#, and in reasonable shape, my kid has a "good" appetite, and Burgerville has what he likes and in the quantities that satisfy him. We ordered in and sat down in a comfortable booth and within this neat diner atmosphere. It's definitely not IN-N-OUT or fine dining, but it is fast food that's a cut above. Both he and his Mom had a shake and we all shared some really good garlic fries. My burger with pepper jack cheese had a nice kick, while my son inhaled his burger, and his mother enjoyed her salad. The oddest thing about this outing was the 3 of us sitting down for "dinner" in a way that we hadn't done in years. It was both comfortable and familiar, yet deliberate and cautious. Answering her questions about the wedding details for this coming Saturday also seemed both engaging and intrusive. However, I was happy for this chance to work together for my son's benefit and do it in the retro atmosphere and comfort food setting of Burgerville.

After a particular hard exam, I decided that I deserved a strawberry shortcake. I love it love it love it. Strawberries were fresh and sweet, the cake was flavorfull and buttery, and the ice cream is the best around. Note: If you get it "to go" you get a lot more. I know..I'm a fatty. me: "Psst, hey, BV, I love you" BV: "I know that better than you do". The End.

I have lived in the area for three years and finally tried this BV today for lunch when I saw they had GF buns. I had a gluten free pepper bacon cheese burger and it was pretty good, but pretty cold. I had the bun toasted on the non-dedicated toaster at the risk of a tummy ache but I am pretty sure the bun would have been a much worse had I not. I appreciated the option, but next time I will probably just go bun-less. I will add that I tend to avoid most GF subs as I find them all disappointing (save for the Sellwood Pizza Kitchen's GF crust. WOW). The employees at this BV were incredibly friendly and helpful as far as I could tell.

Burger Junkie Aimee W. here checking in one more time today. Burgerville is fast food - WITH TILLAMOOK CHEDDAR BABY! Best burgers ever. Srsly. I try to get there whenever I am in town. Soooo good. And this is why. Fresh meat, great cheese, yummy sauce, veggies oh yeah. Awesome. Other reasons why Burgerville USA of so foine? Hello - they recycle. This is so awesome. I admit it - I am a hippy. I am a-ok with that. I love that a fast food chain recycles and has bins for people to separate their trash. That is fantastic. Good burgers, green company, bright and clean restaurant, very good service. WIN WIN FREAKING WIN! And did I mention Tillamook cheddar? oh. so. good. My mouth waters for my next trip home. And for this review I have a haiku that I am making up right now. Burgerville burgers Oh my gosh so delicious Tillamook cheese....yeah. okaybye.

A friend recommended Burgerville to me, touting it as "better than In-N-Out." I'd say, you can't really compare the two. In-N-Out is all about simplicity. Burgerville has an extensive menu (that I had trouble seeing with my slightly underpowered contact lenses) and wants to give you a retro feel with its jukebox and booths. Their service is FAST. I think my friend and I had barely sat down for a minute when our food came out and was delivered to our table. As for the food, I really enjoyed the classic burger with bacon, but if I really had to compare, I prefer In-N-Out's spongier bun and delicious dressing. However, if I never had In-N-Out before, which you also can't get in Oregon, I would say Burgerville has the best burgers I've ever had. Toasting the bun is key. The dressing is pretty good. Another amazing thing that Burgerville serves is asparagus spears. I can go without the dipping sauce, the spears by themselves are delicious! In fact, I think I enjoyed it more than the burger. I like the frequent buyer's card they have, which allows you to earn points towards freebies like drinks, their special sauce, and even a burger. Register your card online and you get 5 points for free, with 1 point per $1 spent thereafter. Take a satisfaction survey and get 15% off your next purchase. Finally, they print a nutrition fact chart on your receipt for the food you purchased! I've had the impression that Portland is a pretty health-conscious city, and I appreciated this effort to make us aware of what we're putting in our bodies, not just in terms of calories, but fat, fiber, and carbs too. I proudly announce I got 5 g of fiber with my burger and asparagus tonight. ;) Copied from their survey: "Burgerville works with many local suppliers in order to provide its guests with the freshest food. In addition, at Burgerville we provide affordable healthcare for our hourly employees and participate in sustainable business practices such as purchasing wind power credits, recycling and composting and converting our used cooking oil to biodiesel fuel." Thumbs up for that! =) Definitely coming back here again!

I don't know what it is about this place, but I LOVE it. Every time I go to Portland, I have to pay a visit to Burgerville. I usually get the turkey burger. The last time I went, they had these rosemary french fries. They were so good! There are different sides, depending on the season (walla walla onion rings, aspargus, rosemary french fries).

Not big on fast food but when I do eat it, I usually feel better about picking Burgerville. But $7.99 for a kids meal? The two pieces of halibut were good but the fries were barely cooked. Come on!

Best fast food ever! We wait all year to have our wall walla onion ring fix. Tempura asparagus is starting to become a favorite as well. I love any place that gives you money back for every purchase. Lets not forget that this is fast food but it always makes me happy to see their biodegradable packaging and locally sourced products. I abhor chain food joints but this is my lone exception due to the great things they do!

My B/F took me here on Friday nite for a date. I had a spicy vegggie burger b/c I had never had a veggie burger before. It was just ok for me. I didn't like the mayo, it seemed burnt. We also had the sweet potatoe fries which were too soft or something. I think I would rather go to REd Robin. I did really like my strawberry shake!

I'm so happy that it is only across the bridge from my new spot!! A transplant from California, I am already missing In and Out... as many people know, it is a burger staple. Well, since I can't have my #2 Animal Style order, I'll take a Tillamook Cheeseburger. Finger-licking good french fries... check! I'm excited to go back and try their shakes, as they looked even better than the tasty burgers. P.S. I think it's awesome they have packaging that is recyclable and available for compost.

Now, I love burgerville and it's been a pretty regular thing for me since moving to Portland. But its also probably the most expensive fast food restaurant around unfortunately, so when im paying $10 for a burger and fries i expect them to get it right. This burgerville messes my order up about half the time. Theres also a kid who works the front counter who has failed to give me my damn cup every single time I order from him. Today i ordered two cheeseburgers, got home to find out they were sans cheese (although the cook clearly labeled them as cheeseburgers). I miss the Convention Center burgerville. Go there instead. Over 3 years they never once messed up my order no matter how 'busy' they were.

    (2)
  • Eric M.

You can't beat Burgerville for a drive-thru burger and/or shake. They are a bit more expensive than similar places, but that is due to their local and renewable resourcing, so I don't mind paying a decent price for a great burger.

Sorry to fuel the East Coast/West Coast divide.....and it pains me as as New Yorker to say this, but having just eaten at Corner Bistro last night for the first time, I still think the Burgerville burgers win. Although we were traumatized that they were out of sweet potato fries, we stayed the course and proceeded with our order. I of course had to sample everyone's burger and my sister's BlackBerry Shake to make sure they weren't poisonous....and got to sample a regular burger, the bacon cheeseburger and the chicken sandwich. They were all phenomenal, guess it's the homegrown local ingredients? The healthy-granola fed cows? The water? I don't really care why, all I know is that I love eating in Portland. Well, while chowing down, my dad spotted a truck outside the restaurant, with men unloading unmarked boxes....turns out they contained fries and the manager rushed over to give us some. Seriously, people in Portland are sooo nice I can't handle it.

I come here once in a blue moon, but when I do, I'm NOT disappointed. My favorite is the Pumpkin Smoothie. Don't let the word smoothie fool you! This is a pumpkin shake made with yo-cream nonfat frozen yogurt that tastes like the full fat version. Also, onion ring season is great. I like that I can get a small order (3 rings) and not blow the diet.

I guess if you really need fast, unimaginative formulaic food this is the best of a bad bunch. At least it's local and makes an effort to source relatively responsibly.

I have now lived in the Northwest for one year. It took me that long to try out Burgerville! Mostly because I NEVER go to fast food places if I can help it. I had heard good things, especially about their sweet potato fries. We stopped in on our long drive home from the Bay Area to Seattle. It was 930pm and they were cleaning up to close but helped us nonetheless. I was delighted to see they had two vegetarian burger options - both of which were easily vegan! Hold the cheese/mayo please! The burger was really tasty and I remarked in the car as we drove that I didn't feel entirely unhealthy eating it. It was really like something we would make at home. The fries were very good and I had the iced tea to wash it down. In all, this location was very clean, friendly, and quick. The food was tasty and satisfying. Glad I finally tried it!

Burgerville is a PDX institution. Has to be, there's practically one on every corner. Nothing especially good sold here but still OK --- quick and easy food. Note: hambuger patties are wafer thin.

  • Misty S.

This is the closest Burgerville location to me and luckily the best I've been to! A lot of other BV locations (Hawthorne & 11th, I'm lookin at you!) are painfully slow and not quite as friendly as my neighborhood BV. I do wish they had more kid's options that were gluten-free BUT I can deal. The new breakfast menu is great! It's way better than the previous english muffin atrocity AND it's served all day. Nice! P.S. Try to avoid this location during the high school lunch times and when school is ending. Basically, if you see large groups of teenagers outside, come back in half an hour or so. They're not *bad* kids or anything, it just takes longer to get your food and you might not have a place to sit if you're eating in.

  • Mal C.

Points for friendly staff, nice clean location, enough spaces for parking. I think the burger's great - kind of pricey for fast food, but maybe that's because they use all local ingredients. Pressing issue though, why are the burger's so small? I need to order the half pound colossal cheeseburger to feel full... and I'm tiny! Oh well, I find that the fresh taste and the delicious burgerville sauce (I should just buy a jar) keep me coming back.

A fast-food chain -- with compost bins? It sounds strange, yes, but these Pacific Northwest hot spots serve their meals with a side of sustainability and an extra helping of everything else you probably wouldn't expect at a drive-through diner. The food is fresh. The meat is hormone-free. Many of the ingredients are locally grown. The chain's slogan -- "Fresh, Local, Sustainable" -- is emblazoned on in-store merchandise. It almost feels uncomfortable at first, as if these two worlds were meant to be mutually exclusive. Sit down with a Colossal hamburger, fries and vanilla shake at Burgerville, though, and ... hey, no wonder this place has been around for 50 years.

I'm not saying all BV locations suck but this one does. I've got nothing but cold burgers and old fries. The one good thing I've had there has been the seasonal fried asparagus. Also, I know for a fact this restaurant has given me diarrhea on more then one occasion. No more BV for me. And I hate their special sauce!

Burgerville...I used to really like you, but after this morning, I think I've lost all respect. Decided at 10:50, that I needed a snack and wanted a little cheeseburger and a little sprite. Drove through the burgerville drive through; Burgerville: "Welcome to Burgerville, can I take your order?" Me: "Yes, are you serving lunch yet or just breakfast?" Burgerville: "We serve lunch all day." Me: Thinking YES!!!! "Great, I'll have a small cheeseburger and a small sprite." Burgerville: "Would you like ot add french fried and make it a basket." Me: "No thanks." Burgerville: "Ok, please pull up to the second window." I proceed to pull up and pay...and then wait. Maybe it was because not many people order small cheeseburgers before 11 am, but I waited a good 3-5 minutes for that little burger. The guy hands me my bag and quickly closes the window. Inside is a small cheeseburger and a french fry. I really wanted my sprite, so I waited, kept looking in the window and trying to wave at different workers and no one ever came over. Maybe I should of driven back around, but I'd already been in the drive through for a total of almost 10 minutes and I was done. So I drove off... The small cheeseburger patti has literally been halved in size of what it used to be. My bun was stale, the patti was tiny, and it basically tasted like I was eating a bun with waaaaaayyyy to much ketchup on it. I then gave in and ate a couple fries, those were stale as well and not exactly warm (my guess again is that not many people were ordering fries before 11). Maybe if I had a sprite to wash it all down it would have been better, but it wasn't, and so I threw the rest of the fries in the garbage.

Best Burgerville location ever. They're across the street from a high school so they're regularly flooded with loud, rambunctious teenagers. But the staff is so friendly and helpful - they told my co-workers and i the best times to come in to avoid the high school lunch rushes! They're also really great about accommodating special requests like dressing on the side or what-not. And if i'm not in the mood for a salad or a veggie burger, they don't give me funny looks when i ask for a cheese sandwich. On the rare occasion that they do mess up your order, they fix it right away with genuine apologies. The food is tasty! Now listen... we all know it's fast food... and it's not supposed to be good for you... sure you can make healthIER choices but when it gets right down to it, you're there because you're craving junk. Burgerville supplies it and does a great job of it. They even have Burgerville rewards cards. As if the lure of french fries wasn't enough to break your diet... Went through the drive-thru at rush hour last night. Girl at the window was wicked nice and it took a surprisingly short amount of time.

AWESOMEST FOOD EVAH!!! I've gone there a whole bunch of times I think the best things they have there are: Walla Walla sweet onion rings, and the deluxe crispy chicken sandwich. I'd say their the hands-down best restraint ever.

Just when I start basking in the tedious glory of griping about issues of global significance like vermouth content or right-sizing sushi bites, Mr. Kitty gets put in the hospital by the Burgerville on SE Powell and 25th. Now I realize that's the kind of libelous accusation that gets a girl's review in "visible via profile" only status, so let's review the facts here: 1) I don't go to that Burgerville anymore because last time I was there, the family of rats living under the drive through speaker kind of grossed me out. 2) Last Friday, Mr. K ordered a chicken strip basket that he hurriedly ate for lunch while packing for our vacation. 3) As he was polishing off the last chicken strip, he realized that he'd just gobbled down completely raw chicken encased in fried, warm breading. 4) At 4:00 that day, while boarding the plane for the Caribbean, he collapsed and was taken to the ER by ambulance where he spent the night in excruciating pain. We were told he had an infection and surgeons were brought in to assess internal bleeding (thankfully surgery wasn't required... the quote for the night from Mr Kitty was that the government should militarize this experience: tie the terrorists down, feed them poisoned food and send them to Kaiser). 5) After he was diagnosed with food poisoning and released, I dug the raw chicken out of the trash and took it to the Deidre, Burgerville manager, who flicked her acrylic nails with flowers painted on them around at me while stating that, though clearly raw, I had only brought in the "end piece of a chicken strip". (The logic of this argument escapes me - some help here?). We eventually got to St. Martin for the second half of our vacation, pretty traumatized and with a heap of medical bills. We filed a complaint with the Multnomah County Environmental Health and Food Safety division and let Burgerville know we would be pursuing the matter, in our free time, as we're selling our house and moving overseas in the next two weeks. All the trite little picky things I write here...I think I forgot that eating food someone else prepares is one of the highest acts of trust imaginable. We are literally putting our health and our lives in their hands. I think it's important for us, as consumers, and The Holland Inc. (locally owned parent corporation of BV) to draw a line and stand on it as to how much raw chicken is acceptable. I vote no raw chicken. No ruining my vacation. No putting the love of my life in unbearable pain. No hospital bills. No feeling violated as a consumer. No being on autopilot that it has to be safe to eat at fast food chains. No accepting that it's okay for this kind of thing to happen occasionally. And no agreeing that it's acceptable that this happened to us. No. No. No. What do you think? How much raw chicken are you up for?

They're trying out the new Gluten-Free buns at the store, and they're pretty decent, if not crumbly. They'd probably be great toasted, but then they become not so gluten-free. So if they had a way to toast them that was dedicated....and that gets pretty complicated, I'm sure. But it is nice to have the option anyway. Currently they're wrapped in individual wrappers, so that packaging becomes kind of ridiculous - because they give you the wrapped bun, then your burger in a huge container, and you assemble. I do appreciate that they are trying to keep the buns truly gluten-free by doing this, I'm just thinking there must be a better way....

first off-- I'm really shocked they don't trim off the ends of the asparagus!!! the batter was light and they weren't greasy at all- super delicious, in fact!! except those woody ends!! the fries definitely need salt. it's a bit surprising you have to pay for dipping sauces. I do get that some people want way too many- but they could at least give out maybe 2 per order or something. It's really great to have a drive thru with vegetarian options! I am excited to give the veggie burger a try and they did have some salads that looked pretty good. Weird! Drive thru salads that look good?!? I'm sure at some point I'll give them a try. I love the sustainable and local ingredients! the compostable drink cups are truly great!! and that they're open- jeezz 24 hours I think!! nice for early mornings and late nights! OH AND they print out the how many calories, grams of fat, protein etc.. on the receipt, which is very informative... however, lol, on the special occasions I do indulge in fast food- holy crap- I absolutely do NOT want to be reminded of how many calories are in it! Especially after I've already ordered and paid when it's too late to change my order. I feel too guilty to truly enjoy...

very awkward location...i mean, to get in and out of (vehicle)...'cause its off busy powell. when i lived in SW portland, this was only a 5-10 minute drive, so my resident burgerville. good staff...fast service. can't go wrong with burgerville!

The new spicy black bean burger is really good, so are the pumpkin shakes! I wish they had the onion rings all year though. the other vegetarian burger isn't as good. it sort of tastes like stale vegetable crackers, and the one i got was burnt. Over all my trips to burgerville are earn a solid 4 rating

Advertising works. I haven't been to a fast food restaurant (no less a drive-thru window!) in 8 years. Then, I saw the sign: Sweet Potato Fries. It was worth $2.79 and slightly comprimising my own belief system.

Everytime I am feeling stressed (or just need a calorie splurge), I come here. This is fast food for people who hate fast food, and after trying a few burgervilles around town this one is my favorite (i don't know why!). The service is always fast and friendly, the foods hot and fresh. It tastes like a burger you would make yourself. I also like that everything is seasonal, they only buy sustainable, and they are the only fast food chain I know that can trace the meat back to the cow!

The best fast food. Better than In n' Out. Local food prepared with care quickly. Sweet potato fries, local fresh fruit and milk in the shakes/smoothies, killer black bean burger with spicy cheese. Yum. I am so sad the closest Burgerville to Seattle is all the way in Centralia. Boo.

Can't say much that hasn't been said, but to get the REAL Burgerville, you have to spring for the more expensive stuff. That is no cheeseburger, but a "Tillamook cheeseburger" and no shake, but a "Seasonal specialty shake" then if you're lucky with your timing skip the fries and get Walla Walla onion rings or sweet potato fries. Personally, the walla walla sweets with a seasonal strawberry shake is close to last meal status (and because of the tastiness, not the artery cloging capabilities)!

If you want to hang out with high schoolers, this is the Burgerville for you as it is across the street from Cleveland. It can be an interesting anthropological experience especially during the lunch hour. I was getting tired of all of my Portland friends arguing that Burgerville is the best fast food place ever, so I had to check it out for myself. I didn't end up actually eating a full meal (next time for sure!), although I was really tempted (I especially would have like to give those sweet potato fries a try...). I only got the blackberry milkshake, which is supposed to be made with local Oregon blackberries (so say the signs). I must confess it was a damn good milkshake: very rich and thick, just the way I like them. Half way through I was beginning to regret ordering a large one: there must have been 1000 calories in there... and it made me plunge into a deep deep food coma. I'll be back for sure!

i'll probably be placed on the Homeland Security watch list for this but, i'm not much of a fast food person. [gasp! b-but, it's the American way!] yes, bright, fluorescently shiny, & sterile in a corporate Norman Rockwell kind of way. considering that this place seems to embody the spirit of pdx (their credo is "fresh, local, sustainable") i really want to like it, but there's no spark. Elvis has left the building. the onion rings are made with care & hand-battered but strangely tasteless. the blackberry milkshake is made with fresh-fruit but has no tang, just innocuously sweet & creamy. it's safe & clean & the staff are very friendly as well as the patrons. am i a crotchety old curmudgeon or is it all too stepford with no substance? it's fast food, so what am i expecting? and i guess that's the point, life's too short to eat fast food. give me a slow food greasy spoon instead. okay MIB, i'm ready for my body cavity search....

As someone new to the Portland area, I must say that Burgerville is a refreshing change from your typical fast food joint. It's still fast food, that's for sure, but it at least tastes better. The ingredients taste fresher (I believe they go local as much as they can) and the overall atmosphere is better than the competition. I don't go out to fast food that much, but when I do you can bet that it'll be Burgerville from now on.

I LOVE Burgerville. It's like IN-N-OUT little green sister, who knows that even though your mind thinks you want a burger, sometimes you just want a strawberry shake or shortcake, or even a tasty salad. But- for those times when you do actually crave a fresh tasty burger this is the place to be. I like that while it's local and fast food-y you still feel like you're in a fun atmosphere. Burgerville makes it okay to be far far away from my previous only place to eat meat, IN-N-OUT and for now that and a hazelnut shake are more than a girl could ask for.

This place is no ordinary fast food, nono. I mean, it will clog your arteries and probably qualify you for a Jerry Springer episode if you eat too much of it, but at least it's made with love. Sweet potato french fries and a spicy veggie burger with *ahem* chipotle mayonaise. Say my name! Milkshakes, lemonades, etc, all made from local ingredients. Everytime we go in it is Shame-Eaters Central. I have a feeling it will be the hangover cure for years to come.

This is the Northwest's analog of Califonia's In n Out Burger. Everytime I fly into Portland, I go to Burgerville 1-2 times a day. Fresh Rasberry/Strawberry lemonade with a tillamook cheddar cheeseburger. sooo good.

I am officially peeved with this Burgerville. This is the second time within the last 4 visits where we have been served bad milkshakes. The last time, the pumpkin shakes were so full of clove, they didn't even taste of pumpkin. This time was the last straw, though. Both of the shakes we ordered tasted SOUR - we could not drink them. When we got home and took off the lids, they smelled like yogurt. Yuck!! Come on Burgerville, you're supposed to be local and natural - where's the justification for charging so much for your food if it's not even fresh or has any standards of consistency?!

I just went to the burgerville on powell at 10:30 pm 10/7/2014 and my burger was smashed on the side when I took it out of the bag..then I started to bite into it and it was so rare in the center that I was absolutely appalled. I threw the rest of the burger away out of fear that I would get sick. I had also order a pumpkin smoothie which came out good..thats why Im giving this 2 stars..I had better..but the boys that were working there tonight were just screwing off and didnt care much about the product they were serving. Will DEFINITELY not be going back this late again.

Amazed at the great service-- free juke box, even. What a very nice place to take the kids. There was a miscommunication on our order, they brought over missing food -- for which I wasn't billed-- for free with a smile. Made my night.

We come to this Burgerville specifically because we always like the food over other burgervilles in the area. But tonight we ordered food and Alexandrea messed up our order and charged us for things we did not order. When we realized she was very rude and seemed very annoyed that this happened. We asked to get the stuff we actually ordered and she got even more annoyed. Service is hit or miss here I guess.

When I first went to this location I was never disappointed- today I found myself drinking a melty not very cold at all smoothie that I had to refreeze to eat. Worst part is my wisdom teeth just got taken out and I needed a cold thick smoothie. I agree with the comment that the milkshakes have gone to shite lately. I hate this place right now and I hate the employees minus the managers they are fine but the little pibsqueaks working the window need to go back to high school with that attitude- PLEASE bring quality back.

When business brought me to the Portland area I knew that there would be another checkmark on my fast food bucket list. Love the cleanliness of the restaurant and the speedy service. Ordered the Pepper Bacon Cheeseburger and was not dissapointed. The bacon was nice and meaty and well flavored and the same goes for the burger. The Tillamook cheese makes all the more special. Well done Burgerville.

I don't think the owners could get me to go back...ordered a tillamook basket burger.. I got a burger that looked like it sat overnight and was moldy warmed and dry. I threw it away it looked to suspicious. Ate the frys and went elsewhere. They get two stars for having a clean looking facility and smiling faces...

Paper thin burgers, soggy chicken sandwich, what I can only describe as a "homeless looking" man adding all the sauces and ingredients with his ungloved hand and uncovered long hair/beard. We ordered Apple slices that came slimy. I have never asked for my money back before but it was THE most disgusting restaurant experience I've ever had.

Super disappointed with Burgerville tonight. After getting my Thanksgiving shopping done, I decided to swing by the Burgerville drive thru and pick up dinner for me and my boyfriend. I ordered burgers and fries. We live about 6 minutes away and when i got home the fries where warm and burgers cold. I'm talking the kind of cold that does not make a burger taste good. I immediately called and asked to speak with a manager. Brent was very nice and told me to come in and they would make us fresh food off the griddle. When I went back they were very nice. Gave me a full refund and 2 milkshakes and our meal on them. When I got home (remember I live 6 minutes away) our fries were hot and fresh and our burgers were COLD. A couple of weeks ago we stopped to get lunch and brought it home to eat. When we got home same thing our burgers were cold. I called and spoke with a manger who also gave us a meal to replace the bad one. From now on we will not be going to Burgerville, which really sucks because when there food is hot and fresh its really good. Sorry Burgerville. No more business from us.

They put my order in a combo even though I didn't order that way to save me a few cents. Nice!! Store is clean, service is adequate.. It's a Burgerville, one is mostly like the next!

The cheeseburger was so cold that the cheese did not even look like it was thinking about melting. Why did I need to wait for it to be made if it was already sitting in the fridge? Also please get your act together and make sure the soda machines do not run out. I tried to get a staff member's attention about it but they seemed to only care about their drive-through customers. I hope they all enjoy eating cold burgers in their cars.

I come here once in a blue moon, but when I do, I'm NOT disappointed. My favorite is the Pumpkin Smoothie. Don't let the word smoothie fool you! This is a pumpkin shake made with yo-cream nonfat frozen yogurt that tastes like the full fat version. Also, onion ring season is great. I like that I can get a small order (3 rings) and not blow the diet.

My B/F took me here on Friday nite for a date. I had a spicy vegggie burger b/c I had never had a veggie burger before. It was just ok for me. I didn't like the mayo, it seemed burnt. very awkward location...i mean, to get in and out of (vehicle)...'cause its off busy powell. when i lived in SW portland, this was only a 5-10 minute drive, so my resident burgerville. good staff...fast service. can't go wrong with burgerville!

This is the Northwest's analog of Califonia's In n Out Burger. Everytime I fly into Portland, I go to Burgerville 1-2 times a day. Fresh Rasberry/Strawberry lemonade with a tillamook cheddar cheeseburger. sooo good.

First off...this place blows In & Out away! They offer so much more, and it's SO delicious. Turkey burgers are substantial...amazing everything. I miss Burgerville...Karinna A. says it all.

Worst Burgerville I have been to. Why you ask? Because this is the second fucking time I have gotten a raw burger. I will be telling everyone I know to never go to this location again. 1) I have gotten ice cold food several upon several times from here. 2) I order custom orders and they never give me what I ask, instead they give me cold burgers sitting around- already assembled. 3) they ALWAYS fuck up my order. So in the end it's like they are stealing my money because they are always leaving things out. And 4) they send me home with food so raw it could make me sick. This location is ruining Burgervilles name and reputation... DO NOT GO HERE. Service may be awesome and the people are nice but the food is shit and raw! and they steal your money. What a joke and a total waste!

I just had the worst drive-thru experience I've ever had at this Burgerville. The lady at the drive-thru, Alexandrea, screwed up my order TWICE and would insult me continuously, claiming I was saying things I was not saying. She made it seem like it was our fault, and that the customer ISN'T right. While the food was good, this arrogant cunt ruined my whole experience. Fat bitch.

Amazed at the great service-- free juke box, even. What a very nice place to take the kids. There was a miscommunication on our order, they brought over missing food -- for which I wasn't billed-- for free with a smile. Made my night.

Can't go wrong with Burgerville. Best fast food out there besides In'N'Out. The Walla Walla onion rings are worth the stop alone. Good shakes & decent burgers. Is it just me, or does it get more expensive every time I stop in?!?!

  • Chad M.

  • Rob A.

    (1)
  • Sara K.

  • PD S.

Burgerville burgers Oh my gosh so delicious Tillamook cheese....yeah. okaybye.

  • Eric M.

You can't beat Burgerville for a drive-thru burger and/or shake. They are a bit more expensive than similar places, but that is due to their local and renewable resourcing, so I don't mind paying a decent price for a great burger.

The End.
