We stopped by on a trip after seeing a show on food network about amazing sandwich shops. The one I got was the pork belly cubano. It was very good. Could have used a little more pickles and mustard but the pork belly was cooked so well it just melted in your mouth. I've had a few cubano's in my day at other restaurants add this was the closest to authentic as I've ever had.

overpriced JUNK/Bunk Sandwiches along with unfriendly service. I have no idea why this place is highly praised? For the price of their one sandwich, I could've bought two sandwiches at New Seasons!

Food is decent. Service is otherwise. I'm writing this review sitting in a booth waiting for my food and this far experiences aren't too positive.. Here with a group of girls from California for a bachelorette party. Granted it's a Sunday morning.. They opened 45 mins ago.. And an influx of people this early... But we are paying customers from out of town so yes we will have questions because we don't know what's on your menu. This is particularly for the gentleman with the curly hair, black shirt.. Seemed irritated when we asked too many questions.. Was not happy when we told there was no coffee left.. Condescendingly asked if we were done "or what". Recommend putting a sign indicating what Russian dressing is so you don't have to explain yourself a billion times..

The food is WAY overpriced for what you get. The sandwiches are small and they only give you about 6-8 potato chips on the side - feels very stingy. If they dropped their prices by $2 a sandwich, made the servings bigger, and were more generous with the chips on the side then it might be a decent place to grab lunch. However, until that happens there is absolutely no reason to ever eat here.

I had the Cubano and it was OK; nothing special, but good. I thought the portions were pretty small for the price and though the staff wasn't rude they certainly weren't overly friendly.

My first time into bunk and I was quite impressed! I had to sample everything. I tried the pork cubano, meatball sub, pulled pork, Russian fries, and their special a turkey. All were super delicious and savory, the pulled pork had a taste in it that my tastebuds didn't prefer, but it was still a good Sandwhich. Btw their bread is on point, one of the most important aspects in having a delicious meal!!

I had the egg and cheese, which you'd think "that's simple, how could that be extraordinary?". Um, try it and you'll see. Nice hearty bun, great cheese, two eggs on mine I think! My husband had the pulled pork and said it's the best he's had in Portland so far; a little sweet from the apple cabbage slaw. The kettle chips are standard, overshadowed by the brilliance of the sandwich. The ambience is nice: casual and trendy. I recommend it!

I believe I was served 4 meatballs in my sub, which caps my personal yelp star rating count at 4. I appreciated their unique preparation involving melting the cheese in a ceramic dish in the oven. When I saw this it just screamed to me, "we care and we have put a lot of love into this". Here are some constructive suggestions. There is too much melted cheese and marinara. The bread the meatball sub is served on just isn't well suited for this wet style meatball sub. Do some research into the bread. I don't think it's a coincidence the sub is served with a minor middle slice leaving the bread's edges in tact. It's the only way this sub can remain stable and prevent catastrophic collapse.

For $10 I was expecting a mindblowing sandwich experience. I got the italian meat one and it underwhelmed me. It was more of a $7 sandwich experience. On the plus side, the service was great and I liked the sunny dining area.

I knew I was in the wrong spot when the cashier looked at me like I was an idiot when I asked if I could substitute a different side instead of the potato chips. Portland is a health conscious community. I should be able to substitute something containing apples and cabbage(good for you) instead of having to get potato chips(fried. Terrible for you). He just stared at me like I was an idiot and just gave me a blunt "No." Only exchanges we had were the "no" and "what's your name?" "Okay". I work in customer service and I know that's not how it should be. So there's my bit on their customer service. Next, the food. If the only option I have for a side of an $11 sandwich is potato chips, you could at least give me a few more. There were like none. As for the sandwich, I appreciate the thought they put in the tuna. It was definitely unique. Just not for me. And pretty small for a whopping $11. Bummer.

Ripoff. $17 for a sandwich, coleslaw and lemonade. The sandwich was pretty good spicy Italian. The coleslaw was drowning in mayo, and the service was typical Portland - slow, and when your order was ready, someone from the kitchen grunted your name.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. We came here after a long 6.5 hour hike at Eagle Creek. At this point we were starving, and ANYTHING usually would appease and taste great to a hungry stomach. Right? Following the herd of other Yelpers, I went with the pork belly cubano sandwich ($10). When it was brought out, I was utterly disappointed at how small and flat it was (see photo)! There was a thin slice of pork belly, and some ham with a pickle and cheese. Still, it must be good if everyone recommends it... Right? It was decent at best and easily something anyone can put together with a foreman grill at home. Granted, magical things can happen with a foreman grill.. How disappointing! I also got to try some of their famous carne asada fries ($8.50), and what a rip! Coming from Southern California, we know our carne asada fries well, and Bunk did not deliver. It also doesn't help with the general feeling of the place when all the workers here seem bored out of their minds.. Overall, not terrible and not great, but an average place with above-average prices.

Another one of those "boutique" restaurants that pop up in PDX. This one specializes in sandwiches. I had a shrimp po boy that was a bit masked by the hot sauce, but still had significant tang to it. The house made lemonade was terrific.

Very good sandwiches! Large portions, three of us shared two--grilled chicken salad with avo, and the Cuban--were definitely not disappointed. Indoor & outdoor seating, quick service, no line, offered nice, large glasses of ice cold H2O on a 90-degree afternoon. Pleasant experience to say the least.

Portland may have an aversion towards national chains, but they do love their local chains. Salt and Straw, Lardo, Little Big Burger and Bunk Sandwiches all have multiple locations throughout the city. Portlanders know what they like and every time these businesses build an additional restaurant, long lines are quick to follow. I've known about Bunk Sandwiches for quite a while, but never seemed able to pull the trigger and give them a try until they opened their newest location on Alberta Street in Northeast Portland. Fate, it seems, was kicking me in the butt to finally give them a try. Alberta Arts is my favorite neighborhood in the Rose City and now that Bunk had a location there I had to go. Another bonus with the Alberta location is that it's far roomier than the other locations and it has a full bar, which is very nice. You order at the counter at Bunk, just like you do at so many other places in Portland. Cue the rant. People, people, I'm not sure why so many of you have such a difficult time with order at a counter! there's a huge menu above the spot where you order and if there's a line, then you need to be looking over that menu and deciding what you want to order. If you need more time, then let the people behind you go ahead of you. Don't waste everybody's time by chitchatting with your friends, oblivious to everything and then asking for a menu when you get to the register! It's not rocket science!! Having said all that, though, Bunk does have a lot of delicious items on the menu to tempt you. I was torn between the Pork Belly Cubano and the Meatball Hero. As you can see from the photo above, the Meatball won out.. I wasn't disappointed. I thought that treating this sandwich as open-faced was pretty inspired. It allowed the sauce an even distribution throughout the surface of the sandwich. The marinara itself wasn't heavy and tomato pasty. It was light and fresh. The meatballs weren't heavy or dense either. They were tender, flavorful and, yet, held their shape very well. Being that the sandwich was open-faced meant that the cheese had a better interaction with the broiler. It was almost like a neapolitan pizza - bubbly cheese with random, golden brown caramelization and a slight char of the edges of the bread. It's a great sandwich! One of the better meatball subs that I've had. It would be hard to go wrong at Bunk Sandwiches, all of their sandwiches look great. I look forward to eating my way through the menu!

I've tried the Cubano at the convention center food truck and the pulled pork at this location. The Cubano was very delicious and the service was great! However, the pulled pork was too oily and the service was "meh" here.

Great little spot with an extensive sandwich menu, something for everyone including gluten free and vegan options. We checked out the menu online before arriving, meatball sandwiches for the guys, chicken salad for me. My daughter chose the blt which is no longer on the menu, plan B was the egg sandwich. All the sandwiches were great, served with chips and we ordered fries to go with. Plus a bonus item of carne asada fries which were awesome. Guy working the counter wanted to be somewhere else, but aside from having to wait an extra 10 minutes for the fryer to be ready, lunch was great. Couldn't finish my sandwich, so asked for a to-go bx. Guy gave me a paper wrapper for my sandwich. Long drive home and sandwich leaked all over everything else in my bag. (lame) One order of plain fries serves 4.

Says it in the name. This place is bunk. The third and final time I have come here. I love Cubanos but this was just a sandwich with the right textures but everything tastes the same. Like a mush or flavored meat. The service is 'meh' at best. And for 10 bucks I should get a decent side of cheap chips. Literally a babies hand full. Counted 10 chips. 1 chip for every dollar of SADwich I had. I hoped for a better experience. But came up pretty short. I am full now. That's the positive. And I get to listen to yuppie conversations....haha. Better meat ball Sammy next door at Via Chicago. I hope to see some changes...till next time I am hungry and am willing to pay for this food.

After seeing this place on the food network several times, I stopped by the Alberta location yesterday. I was not disappointed! I ordered the pork belly cubano which tasted delicious! Great seasoning, meat cooked perfectly and a perfect portion. What I like about this sandwich is it isn't too messy. The staff was extremely friendly and this place just bled the essence of Portland. I highly recommend stopping here!

Bunk Sandwiches might just be the Ike's of Portland. I stopped during a recent Sunday lunch time and ordered some uber delicious roast beef sandwich combination to go. I thought I was in a hurry to get to the airport (and eat it there), but in hindsight I should have grabbed a chair, ordered a beer, and enjoyed my Alberta Street moment. As for the service, it was perhaps a bit detached and inwardly focused (which seems to be a cultural norm in Portlandia), but otherwise my sammy was in the bag within what I consider normal wait time. I also thought the price was a little on the high side, but on the other hand, I sure did get a lot of great food for that money.

Rarely do I try what was an average place to me the first time, a second time. Because I had heard so many great things multiple times from numerous people I decided to do just that and chalked my first experience to bad luck. I was sorely disappointed that this place just didn't cut it for me at all. I took out of state company again to this place and have now tried 5 different sandwiches to which all have become below par in my book for a specialty sandwich shop. The only sandwich that I did enjoy was the meatball one. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I came here one evening (a little bit past 9pm). I've had Bunk sandwiches a few times this was my first time at this location on Alberta. First off, this wasn't my first choice, I wanted LBB but immediately when I walked in, they turned me away because it was 9pm and they were closed.... (Hello perhaps lock your door). In any case this isn't about LBB. We walked in and it was dark and some chairs were already up. There were several employees just kind of staring at us as if we intruded on them. I asked if they were still serving, the sign read 10pm. We didn't want to be THAT guy who is keeping everyone from going home. We ordered a couple of sandwiches, the food came out quick and we wolfed it down quickly. I didn't exactly feel like we were welcomed. Food was good which is why the 3 stars, perhaps would have given a 4 if I didn't feel like I was intruding. In short, if you're going to be open to 10pm please make it seem like it!

It's somewhere between 'meh' and 'well, ok.' I came here last winter in the one day of snow and the grilled cheese that I ordered felt like manna from heaven. Each time I have returned though, it seems a little over priced for what you are getting at around $35 for two beers and two sandwiches. The pork belly Cubano is ok, just nothing to really wow you, and the tap selection is good albeit a little limited.

Food is always solid and consistent. I am fan of the roasted chicken salad as a salad and it always tastes great.

Dead on a Friday night: I should have let that be an indication. I'm angry at myself for not speaking up about the fact that one of the two sandwiches ordered was flat out inedible (the toast beef--don't do it!) and the pulled pork was mostly mayo-heavy cole slaw. And they HAVE a fryer, but you have to order fries separately. That's a lot of nerve to charge almost ten bucks for a cold, mediocre sandwich of average size and serve it with a handful of chips that I'm pretty sure were just straight out of the bag. Greasy, boring, place holders. Seriously, that's balls. And $10 for a big margarita that was just OK. Meh. And it was really obvious (I would have thought) that me and my friend we're knew to the joint. The person taking our order COULD have informed us we'd be in charge of running AND bussing or own food, maybe then he would have still gotten the 20% tip I ignorantly ended up bestowing. I'm not stranger to bussing my own table around here. But running it too? AND we were sitting outside! And the place was dead! Bro could have EASILY brought it out to us, if one cared to really "dazzle" us with your service. Bro seemed just as unimpressed as we did. Next time I want a sandwich I'm going to East Side and to Por Que No for margaritas. I dropped almost $50 and we left hungry and irritated. Never going back. Don't believe the hype!

We tried the pork belly Cubano, chicken sandwich and Carne Asada fries. Sandwiches were delish but fries were lacking something special. Service was friendly and food came out quick. We got our order to go and appreciated how neatly everything was packed. I would come back to work my way through the menu. Restroom is a single stall that needed some serious tlc. Funky order and floors were wet.

Stopped in for their cubano sandwich and tomato soup to go. Their cubano was the worst sandwich I've ever had. There was a mixture of ham and a brownish/grayish meat that tasted absolutely awful, if not completely off. I assume it was the pork belly. Honestly disgusting and a complete rip-off.

    (1)
  • Jskilicious S.

The pulled pork sandwich was really yummy. We took the food to go so the Russian fries were pretty soggy. Would have thought they'd put the sauce on the side. I want to try more items on the menu. Portions are very large so it's possible just to share one sandwich and fries.

  • Megan B.

If you enjoy waiting half an hour for overpriced food you will love this location. I got Carne Asada Fries, and although they were good I would not say they were worth $8.50. The wait is mostly what left a bad taste in my mouth. Will not return.

Just finished dropping $40 for three sandwiches and three cokes and won't do that again. First complaint, the cashier was too cool for school and acted very put out when we asked about the sandwiches. I ordered the Italian cured meats. It was slathered in Italian dressing that tasted like it was poured from a bottle of Wish-Bone (nasty), piled high with big slices of red onions that were very bitter. The meat was lifeless next to this onslaught. Finally, for $10 I want to have a full belly. This sandwich didn't do it. Sadly, if you were eating this blind alongside a Subway sandwich you'd have a hard time differentiating. My kids both got the meatball parmigiano and the meatballs were doughy and bland and the sauce tasted like Chef Boyardee. They also were still hungry after eating their sandwiches. I prefer the sandwiches at Brass Tacks- fresher ingredients and bigger portions.

The dudes who work here are surly and seem perpetually hung over. I've seen them scoff when customers ask about gluten free bread. They usually forget to pour at least one of our drinks and we have to go back and ask for it (the hangover?). The bathrooms often smell like, well, bathrooms used by people with hangovers. The scant indoor seating is often too sunny to sit in without sunglasses. But we keep coming back because the carne asada fries are great and the frozen margarita is strong and not too sweet.

Here's a good Tip. Don't expect anything delicious or extraordinary to come from a sandwich restaurant that has such an inflated ego that a pile of greasy potato chips dumped on a tray is considered their trademark touch, has a bunch of rude, burn-out hipsters working in it ... And come on, Their friggin name is Bunk and that's exactly what it is! ... Yeah I know the cute backstory... Started in a bunker... How sweet. Too bad they can't even make a good chicken salad. All I could taste was salt. I will not be coming back.

Pork Belly Cubano. Perfectly crispy on the outside, cheesy, ham-y and tangy, just as you'd expect a cubano to be. Service was friendly and efficient.

So why the 'tude' when I come into a bunk bar?my second review, different location. The counter person just stares at me. No greeting? It's your job dingdong. The feeling of not being welcome always hits me when I arrive. Too bad the food is decent otherwise my business would not be with them. Other than that, food is good, beer good, service and hospitality blah...I went again to the counter to order, they all ignored me! Fuck this piece of shit place

Bunk in the Artists' District was my wife's and my first experience to Portland proper, and a few observations, categorically speaking: Location: 4 out of 5 Neat experience to go into the artists' district, but unrepeatable. On the one hand, it's novel to see the diametric clashes of culture that exist: hedge fund yuppies with their 60k + cars jutaxposed against unironic hipsters living out of their VW vans. Walking down the street was an experience by itself, and I can't get the feeling that we were judged because we were wearing gasp, North Face instead of the local zero emissions brand that sells power back to the grid. Excuse me if I don't hike for 6 months at a time, but I do run ultramarathons and enjoy the comforts of say, showering every day. It was probably similar to the same judgement I give to midwest college kids who wear North Face just for the sake of wearing North Face. I digress, and frankly - I realize that not everyone in Portland is as well, stereotypical as modern media may portray them to be. Customer Service: 1 out of 5 (And for those of you who know me, this is a rarity) Nonexistent for charm. I can tolerate a certain amount of blase from any food service industry worker who has to be there on a Sunday morning. The shift sucks. The people are probably crappy and tourists and won't tip well, and won't understand the secrets of the artists' district. But what you I can't tolerate is the fact that when people are salaried, i.e., they are getting paid to do a job that involves talking to people and being I dunno, at least alert and somewhat personable, they still take it upon themselves to be the holier than thou I'm-too-good-to-be-friendly type attitude. Screw that crap. If I could have given a negative tip, I would have but in my naivete, I gave a full 20% (in retrospect, a terrible idea). Let me be clear - this is not a piss poor attitude shared by everyone in Portland or even Oregon, but rather - in my limited experience confined to only this restaurant. I get it, I get it - you don't want us "not you types" here in the Artists' District, but guess what? Take a good look around see who your customers are. Clap clap to the man at the counter who was able to pour my beers and hand them to me at the bar so I could take them myself to the table I sat at. And clap clap for my wife and I who bussed our own tables and left it looking nice than than we found it. We should have tipped ourselves 20%... The 1 star comes from their ability to get our orders out quickly and without error, and if I could just review the BOH instead of FOH staff, this place would be getting a much higher rating. Quality of food: 4 out of 5 Bunk's saving grace is that their food is quite a bit above average. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich and raved about the huge chunks of chicken instead of the ubiquitous shredded type. I had the cured Italian meats, and it was decidedly pleasant. The carne asade fries with guac was spot on - no skimping on the guac there. Again - the quality of food was awesome, and had I known that we would be treated by the equivalent of a human bottle of Zima light (no body, no character, all attitude, see what I did there?) I would have gotten our food to go. Quality of beers: 4 out of 5 Always neat to try local brews, and this place did not disappoint. Pints were 4 - 5 bucks each, and since we're from the Chicago/Milwaukee area, these were decidedly "craft" since we're not exposed to them often. The name escapes me now, but I had a sessionable and tasty IPA that didn't bowl me over with bitterness. Value: 4 out of 5 if you don't tip, 2 out of 5 if you do tip. Had I not tipped 20%, I would have been fine with paying 9 or 10$ per sandwich, 5 bucks for beer, and 8 or 9 bucks for those carne asade fries. But since I made the terrible mistake of giving 20% up front to the decidedly blase and unfriendly man, this sours my general attitude. Decor: 3 out of 5 Eh, whatever. Easily forgettable. Sort of looks out of place with the long-standing artists' district buildings, but it's clear that this is in a new development. Overall: 2 out of 5 Let me be clear - the food was excellent and the base pricing was more than fair. Had we been treated with an attitude that didn't resemble a yeti with a frozen scrotum, (cold, see what I did there again?!), this place could have easily been a 4 star experience.

The sandwiches are good (you can't go wrong with the meatballs, Cubano, or Italian cured meats) but also very pricy as other reviewers have noted. It can also take quite a long time to get your sandwich, regardless of how busy they seem. But what really gets me is that the service is so consistently bad here. Two stars is all they get because of that. I've never had a cashier here not seem inconvenienced to have me ordering from them. Blank stares and curt responses are all too common. Hire nicer people, Bunk. Your current crew just seems sour.

I came here with hopes of enjoying a good sandwich but was disappointed. We ordered a roast beef sandwich that really sounded amazing. I watched them prepare the sandwich which was practically pre-made. It didn't taste fresh, wasn't hot enough, and really lacked flavor all around. I won't be back, will end up goign to kenny and zukes instead

on a lovely portland spring day (and i mean, really spring. there was sun involved) i ventured to this location of bunk. the staff seemed on par with the folks around alberta--apparently too cool for me. not unfriendly really, but i felt like i was in their way of doing something way more important. but in any case--the sandwiches were divine. to the point where i wolfed mine down and proceeded to get heartburn and indigestion for the next hour. i really enjoy their use of quality ingredients, and lots of them! and the carne asada fries was like a heart attack waiting to happen it was loaded with such goodies. so yes, go for the food. but realize that you probably won't get much service.

Great service, good (but not great) sandwiches. I declded to cheat on my gluten-free diet as there appeared to be no GF bread options, and ordered the Italian meat sandwich with peppers - but the roll tasted like Subway and while the meats were pretty good, the peppers were so fiercely blazing hot my eyelids were sweating, and I have a pretty good tolerance for heat. My husband loves them though and the seating is comfy so we're giving a 3 instead of a 2 on the stars :)

The food was great! Just wish you were able to sit and look over the menu. With it on the wall in front of the door made it hard to look over everything and pick what you wanted to order as people were waiting and walking in behind you. Google the menu ahead of time if it's your first time. The employees seemed to have a bit of a attitude towards eachother. And just "ok" customer service. Would go back again for the food, not for the atmosphere, maybe a to go order.

Ate there this week with a PDX friend who'd never heard of it. He got the pulled pork and my wife and I split the roast beef and cuban sandwiches. Everything was very good but not over the top great. The roast beef was the best of the three though I would have preferred the beef to be hot. The horseradish sauce was great, right amount of heat. The cuban was good but couldn't really taste pork belly with the cheesed and mustard. The pulled pork was also tasty with a very good mustard sauce. If I lived in PDX I'd go again, but I think it would be after I grew tired of a few better places.

Bunk's Alberta location is a fantastic addition to a great block (Bollywood Theater, Salt & Straw, Via Chicago, and now Bunk). Since this location opened I've had just about everything - more than once - and I couldn't pick an absolute favorite among the sandwiches. My current obsession is the meatball with hot peppers - its a spicy, cheesy, saucy mess. My only complaint about this location is that it doesn't always get the same specials that Bunk Bar gets (where's my po'boy!?). But theres enough good options to keep me coming back. It doesn't hurt the kids love Bunk's grilled cheese and PB&J options.

I see why it's called "bunk." That was NOT a good sandwich experience. Dinner started with an unfriendly order-taker...he didn't crack a smile or seem to care that we were there. My dinner companion and I ordered a cubano, roast beef, caesar salad and carne asada fries. The Cubano was more like a grilled cheese...flat with one strip of pork belly and ham. The roast beef, while stacked with meat, was low on flavor. The Caesar salad came with very little dressing and looked like it came out of a "salad kit" from the grocery store. The carne in the fries was so old and leathery, it was unidentifiable as meat. What really chapped my hide was that I gave a 15% tip and we got our own food, utensils, water, etc. I guess that's my fault for assuming I'd be tipping on something more than a surly register dude. 40 bucks for a whole lotta nothing. My suggestion: stick with Lardo for hot, expensive, porky sandwiches and Brass Tacks for cold, fresh yumminess.

One word: meh. The service was so so (in friendliness, you order at a counter and bus your own table), and the food was okay. I wasn't impressed, and for the price ($10 per sandwich) I'd rather eat elsewhere.

This is by far the least inspired location. The guy working behind the bar on New Year's Eve 2014 did not know where the bread for the sandwiches came from (???)) and did not engage with us even though my friend obviously loved her sandwich and was from out of town. But of course, the pork Cubano really is just oh so good. I'll eat at bunk again, but probably not at this Alberta location. There are so many other options around with friendlier staff.

Not worth the money. Three of us ordered three different sandwiches: tuna melt, chicken salad, and cubano. We were all disappointed and ended up eating only half. For 10 dollars I would either expect an amazing sandwich or at the very least a tasty sandwich that comes with more than a tiny side of potato chips strewn across the plate. The flavor was just not good. The tuna was grey in color and had a sour flavor. The pork belly had a skimpy amount of meat on it, which turned out to be a good thing as the pork had a weird green tint to it. My favorite part was the bread. Also, the service was a little lacking. We were the only ones in the place and we got our own food from the window and bused our own table while the guy working there sat in the dining room playing on his phone. Wish I could reclaim the 20% tip that I dropped in the beginning.

Tasty sandwiches, great bread and quality outdoor seating. No frills and none needed.

I love Bunk.... Great sandwiches. Maybe the best Meatball sandwich I have had. I also love their Grilled cheese & tomato soup. The original on Morrison has good parking but horrible seating - hard to get a table sometimes. The one on Water has a great bar and lots of seating but HORRIBLE parking. We go to both these places quite often and I have yet to be let down with the food I get.

Great sandwiches small portions and for the same price I can go somewhere else and get more food that's just as good! Give it a try if your not super hungry, you won't be disappointed!

First time here after hearing about it via television. Stuck with the classic grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, but was still spectacular

I can't condone an establishment that sells sandwiches and doesn't serve pickles as an automatic side. I'm pretty sure there's an amendment or commandment or SOMETHING that states that pickles are part of sandwich law. (Reference: sandwich bible- don't worry about it; it's totally a thing). Poppyseed buns were the one redeeming quality here.

We get breakfast sandwichs here at least a couple times a month. They are awesome! Really rich and delicious, but not greasy. There is never too long of a wait and the price is right.

The grapefruit beer is delicious. Just what you want on a nice summer day. Oh and the pork belly cubano is on point.

Hours were not posted on the door, lights were on and cashier was at the register. We opened the door asked if they were open. Cashier sighed and said "we have a few minutes left" uh he made me feel guilty for inconveniencing him. Could not attest to the food, we were too shamed to try it

Great pork pulled sandwich! A very unique taste with a perfect kick of excitement! Love the mustard and cabbage slaw on the sandwiches

Absolutely fantastic. Fresh bread, fresh meats, all fresh. Friendly staff, and a variety of hot sauces make this a must try for a great sandwich lover. Hit them up for breakfast for an egg and extra sharp cheddar sandwich.

I'm so glad Bunk joined the Alberta neighborhood. It's a fun place to grab a quick bite. The staff are always very friendly, and the sandwiches taste great. Don't miss the pickles. Those are a highlight.

Good food, but we went in with some friends and our 3 kids and they charged us 15% gratuity because we had 7 in our party. We only ordered 6 meals and they do nothing as far as waiting on you. You order at the counter and pick your own food up, yen you buss your own table and get your own water and refills. Very disappointed in service they aren't very friendly or welcoming either.

I tried the meatball parmigiano hero and the taste was pretty good. I wanted to try this place because of all the hype but for me it fell a little short but maybe my expectations were too high. The sandwich had good taste but was nothing to write home about.

I had the pork belly sandwich and it was incredible! I was in on a sunny Monday afternoon, and the staff was good and quick with service. It's a great location, too, with plenty of other spots including Salt n Straw.

5 for looks, 4 for service (guy at the front was friendly and helpful), 2 for the food. We ordered the roast beef sandwich, the cubano type sandwich, fries w/ russian sauce and wine. The roast beef was very *blah* and the cubano bread was burned on the sides (to the point that I was tearing off pieces). There were hardly any pickles, I don't understand why mustard replaced the typical mojo sauce. The whole thing was just very dry. I feel like after just opening that they'd be very particular with what they send out. I didn't get food poisoning so maybe we'll give something else on the menu a try in a few months.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Bunk! I just stopped in to the try the newest Bunk Sandwiches on Alberta on opening day, today. I norrmally go to the one on SE Morrison, so I've been (impatiently) waiting for this one to open in my hood. The new space feels bright, roomy, and modern. While the layout is similar to the Morrison location, this Alberta location feels much more inviting and comfortable both for dining in and also waiting for to-go orders. I heard it has a back patio but forgot to check it out. The menu is very familiar. They have a Poblano Torta that they don't have at Morrison, but otherwise the sandiwches looked the same, as far as I recall. I noticed they have a bunch of salads which I don't remember seeing at Morrison location. I had the pulled pork, apple cabbage slaw, pickles, mustard sandwich which comes with chips. The sandwich was great with a ton of flavor and balance between the ingredients and the bread. Even though that's plenty of food, I also got the potato salad (w/ bacon & egg) to try it out. It was great, though I wished some of the potato pieces were smaller. If you are a fan of the Bunk on Morrison then I suspect you'll love this location even more due to the better atmosphere. That said, if you aren't a fan of Bunk Sandwiches then I suspect your opinion of the Alberta location will be the same, unless your critique is more related to the atmosphere rather than the food itself. I'd probably give the Bunk on Morrison 4 stars, but this new space at the Alberta location pushes it over the top for all 5 stars.

we have been meaning to try bunk, and finally did for lunch. we began with a rainier beer and a maker's mark with coke. next, i had the albacore tuna melt, and my parnter had the cubano. we split a caesar salad. good food. wish there were more options than kettle chips. i asked to sub for a small side salad, but they couldn't do it. having more veggie options or salad with tuna or seafood would be good. the staff is very friendly and efficient.
