Bridge City Cafe in Pioneer Place will never be a shining beacon of culinary quality. Nevertheless, they have products that are tasty and of a low price. There are all kinds of pastries, sandwiches and salads, perhaps this is a kind of bakery if you will. This does tend to be faster than their Lloyd Center location, but there are still better options in Pioneer Place such as Ocean Aloha. I walked in to see if this was any different than their other locations. My order for a snickerdoodle cookie was handled in a jiffy. It was delicious, though most of us have likely seen and tasted better. It was sweet and creamy, but Elephant's Deli has a cart across the street with a sophisticated marionberry scone. Luckily, the price of $1.50 for the cookie made all the difference. This is a good place to stop if you happen to be in Pioneer Place.

I ordered a fairly simple turkey and cheddar sandwich ($7.95), which came with one of their homemade chocolate chip cookies. The sandwich was huge, layered with turkey, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and two cheese slices. The bread I chose (they were out of the wheat) was a molasses rye and was freakin' awesome. Who knew rye could be that good? The sandwich ended up being lunch AND dinner because it was just that filling. Also, that cookie? Don't pass it up or be all like "Oh, I'll just get chips with my sandwich, I don't need no cookie!" because you would be really missing out.

Decent cup of coffee. The cookies that they sell taste like Mrs. Fields. The creamer on hand is little packets of Coffee-Mate.

Buy six cookies, get six cookies free! Best deal I've found since I got to Portland! I am a happy fat kid!LOL

Delicious cookies, great staff, yummy soup, fast service....it's a great place to grab lunch while shopping. A refreshing fresh alternative to the other options!

This place rules. Being a vegetarian, I can only have one of their sandwiches, but boy is the Broadway Veggie good! They use high quality, fresh ingredients, and you get a free cookie. I tried one of their soups for the first time today, and it was good as well! I don't really know what people in other reviews are complaining about when it comes to service here, though. The only interaction you have with employees here is when ordering and picking up your food. They've never seemed super enthusiastic, but they've certainly never been rude to me!

Nice spot to grab a soup, sandwich, or salad, or coffee and a pastry. My wife and I each had a soup and sandwich combo, and both were tasty and made well and quickly. My toddler had a fruit salad, milk, and blueberry muffin. I was pleased to find out the muffin is not overly sweet. The prices are not the best, but this place is in a nice mall (high rents) and you do get a free cookie with the meal. I did not have any issues with the staff behind the counter as some other reviewers had. The staff is younger, and I could see how a more mature group could add to the experience.

Huge fan of Bridge City Cafe. I used to go there at least a couple of times a week when I worked in that area. Great and healthy food, wonderful fresh baked bread (and cookies!) and wonderful salads. Always very friendly too. Also there is enough seating to provide a quiet, stress-free lunch experience. My favorite lunch place in the downtown area hands down.

One of the better Paradise Locations; I believe it's now called Bridge City Cafe. Whenever I decide to grab a bite at Pioneer I always come here. Half of an Albacore Tuna or Chicken Walnut Sandwich and a cup of their tomato soup and I am a less scary version of myself after a few hours of shopping. I know I'm not the only one who gets hangry when shopping. To be honest, I also sneak their sandwiches and cookies into the theatre with me. I figure they wouldn't have put this place in the vicinity of the theatre if they didn't want me to bring it in. Atleast that's what I'm going with.

They are always out of what we are looking for, or you just can't get waited on here. We waited for 8 minutes one day while 2 scared girls ran around taking care of a couple, ridiculous. We gave them two chances but won't bother to stop here again.

I don't know if I have ever gone to a Bridge City Café (not just this one) and had EVER gotten my order correct. I ask for a sandwich with no mayo, I get mayo. I ask for swiss instead of cheddar, I get both. Today I ordered a salad with chicken and didn't get chicken - sure did get charged for it though. The girls behind the counter were literally rolling their eyes as they were waiting on people. It's not fair that I should have to check my order before I get back to the office to ensure they made it correctly. The management really needs to improve employee presentation and follow-through.

Bridge City Cafe has the CUTEST PORTLANDIA names for their sammies and the same scrumptious variety as the formerly named Paradise Bakery! Do I want a turkey sandwhich slathered with cranberry sauce six months after thanksgiving? Hell yes I do! And I know exactly where to find it! Plus the staff there is super cool and none of that fake insincere stuff! If you don't like their customer service maybe you've never worked in it before haha! Great food, great people, and bomb cookies!!!!!!!

The food is good. The cookies are great (I mean they are uncooked, so really its just cookie dough which every one loves so that's why they are great). But the customer service definitely needs to improve. If you don't like your job then go some where else. I know most of the girls & boys who work there are high school students but they should learn to smile a little. It makes a large difference in someones day to say hello how are you? Or even a recommendation if people are having a hard time choosing what to order. I work in the mall so it's not hard for me to go up and choose what I want. It is hard for me to ever want to tip the girls who give me a blank stare like I did something wrong. I bet with the food and lessons on customer service people will want to come back to this place :-)

Good quality and pretty good most of the time.. but Something has gone wrong with the chicken salad... The last 3 times I've had it the meat is gristly and there are chunks of what appear to be bones.. A different supplier? Cheaper meat? Makes me sick.. Hope they fix it soon!

I've yet to have a bad meal at Bridge City Cafe (formerly known as Paradise Bakery) and I've eaten here a lot since it's nearby my work. In the couple years I've been frequenting it, there seems to be low employee turnover - I see a lot of the same faces, which is nice. The cookies are always yummy and cooked perfectly. The bread is always moist and melts in your mouth. My personal favorite is the chicken and wild rice soup with the Burnside Turkey Bacon sandwich.

The service I received today at lunch was very poor. I order a large chicken caesar salad. I DIDN'T receive my salad until another customer order a caesar salad. Sandwiches after sandwiches were being made and sent out. Customers after customers who order after me were getting their lunch because they got a sandwich and NOT a salad. If a lady didn't order a small salad, how long would I have to wait for my salad? I just think that it is stupid that I had to wait until another customer order salad before they made my salad. I waited for about 20 or so minutes for my salad. When I wrote to complain, this is what I got back. "I am so sorry to hear about your negative experience at the café this morning! It our goal to have the very best customer service possible for all of our patrons! Please visit our store again for a complimentary lunch! Feel free to call me with any questions or concerns!" They didn't even read my complaint. Excuse me but I wasn't there in the morning. Must have been an email they copy and paste for all the complaints they get. Looks like they don't care about their customers...

Got an excellent chocolate chip cookie here a couple of weeks ago. Their baked goods are really wonderful. And they have soup, salads and more beyond oodles of chewy tasty cookies. Also if your in the food court in the mall and want something besides orange chicken this place is a great option.

Olivia's impulsive behavior is she doesn't mind to splurge for yummy food... Olivia's impulsive must have treats are White Chocolate Macadamia cookies.. Olivia's ALMOST impulsive action was almost buying a dozen of Paradise yummy cookies for $8 something. Thank goodness Olivia didn't do that... Olivia will be bigger than Mrs Doubtfire if she had done that...

So, the cookies are always yum (and how cute are the minis? perfect for when you're walking around the mall, lol...ok, even I know how ridiculous that sounds). I've rocked this place for the past two days at lunch - a more grown up and fulfilling option that a lot of the other places in the food court. Big fan of the albacore tuna sandwich on the dark breads. Also saw today that they sell day old breads super cheap. Go get your carbs! Also, the medium sodas here are HUGE. Nice change from most places that give you tiny sodas anymore.

Horseradish armageddon. All I can say is the roast beef needs to be avoided. Not only is it mostly bread and not meat, but the bread absorbs like a sponge the horseradish they slop on there like mayo. Horseradish isn't mayo, and when I see it listed as a condiment I'm not expecting it to be thickly spread on both sides of the bread. I literally had to throw the sandwich out, it was inedible. The coconut chocolate chip cookie however was fantastic, which saves this joint from a one star.

When I used to work in Pioneer Place (hooray for retail), I would come here for lunch. Their salads were good, and their cookies are yummy. Service was fast and food was healthier than most within the Pioneer Place food court.

Really good cookies. The people working here are very nice and friendly. They do not validate parking tickets.

When I was in downtown Portland for a work training, I think I ate here at least three times for lunch during the week! The Paradise Vegetarian sandwich was really good, I especially loved the pesto. It was decent sized and not too expensive even with an added bag of chips. The best part is that they give you a free cookie! This place is sort of similar to Panera Bread, but the sandwiches were larger in my opinion. Very healthy and fresh tasting too!
