There's one thing you can be sure of when you travel to these out of way places, you're going to have three choices as to where to get something to eat. It will be a fast food place, a gas station or a mexican restaurant. The Ontario-Fruitland area is no exception. There were at least a half dozen mexican places to choose from, we decided to just stop in at whatever we find in downtown Ontario. Fiesta Guadalajara seemed to be promising as we noticed that the place had a halfway decent lunchtime crowd. Looking at the menu, it was pretty standard mexican fare although they seemed to emphasize the enchilada's. I ordered the carne asada, one of my companions ordered the Carne Colorado Enchilada and the other ordered a taco salad (wimp!). Upon seating we were offered the standard tortilla chips with salsa. One interesting touch was that they also offered refried beans with the salsa. Salsa was chunky and tasted great with good tomato flavor with just a touch of heat. Beans were done the classic way, fried with lard, not vegetable oil. I struggled with the lard flavor but my companions loved it. Entree came about 15 minutes later piping hot. My carne asada came with beans, rice and flour tortillas. I would have preferred corn tortilla's but no biggie. Rice was pretty standard if not a bit dry. The carne asada was done "well done" and it was pretty tough meat. Flavor was fine, just a touch oily. Overall this is a pretty decent place. Clean environment, attentive service and decent mexican food.

I do love this place. Very good food with nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff too. I always order the chimichanga. When guests come to town this is the place the elect to eat! Highly recommended.

I totally recommend this place. It was not easy to decide where to get a decent dinner in Ontario. This place didn't disappoint at all. Very tasty dinner, large servings, excellent margaritas. The service was perfect, professional, quick, friendly and fun. Try it.

I think Apollo L. might be being a bit too harsh. I stayed in Ontario while working in Vale for several summers a number of years ago. We would regularly go here. Is this the best Mexican food you'll ever eat? No. Is it "authentic" Mexican food? No. Is it perfectly palatable Tex-Mex? Yes. This is your typical Americanized version of Mexican food that you get in most places in the NW. Not awesome. Not horrible by any means.

Lived in california for 30 years. This was much better than the cookie cutter mexican restaurants there.

Carnitas de pollo and Tecate. Great way to waste away a snowy Sunday. Go for the whole rather than the refried beans.

Nice staff but the food was not good at all. The rice was really hard. Either it wasnt cookef long enough or they scrapped it from the bottom of the pot. Beans...no flavor. Salsa...no flavor. People who say this place is good authentic mexican food obviously dont know what real mexican food taste like. I should of gone to tacobell...cheaper and better tasting.

We unexpectedly had to spend the night in Ontario and were craving Mexican food. Happily we found this traditional downtown restaurant. Food was satisfying, drinks were generous and service was outstanding. For the first time ever in a Mexican restaurant, our server brought us extra salsa in to-go cups to take home with our leftover chips. Highly recommended.

The food was good and the waitress very friendly. This is a huge restaurant- great for families. Had a grilled chicken salad that tasted slightly teriyaki ish but was good. My husband liked his meal a lot. Chili relleno and chicken enchilada.

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for years. It is hit and miss with the food. I guess it must depend on the chef who is working that night. We brought another couple with us to enjoy a late lunch. The waitress seated us under a speaker. The music was so loud we could not hold a conversation. I asked the waitress if she could turn down the music down to background music. She never did turn the music down until the end of our meal. I left with a headache. I should have asked the waitress to move us. That day the food was good. But disappointed that the waitress did not know customer service.

Really disappointed in Fiesta. Had Shrimp Fajitas for two 30.00 for the dish. When the plate came out it had a burnt smell, and with review the dish was obviously burnt we sent it back. They scraped off some of the burnt pieces and sent back half of what was on the plate originally. When we opened the tortillas container there was a black hair in the top of the tortilla. We sent those back too. The waiter said he would talk to his manager about our food. Never say the waiter again. We paid and left. Not going back. Oh service good.

I guess if you're a Hipster and want that vibe, this is the place to get it. Authentic? I'm not so sure. The food isn't bad at all, but I am just too old I guess to want to be surrounded by 14 year old highschoolers everywhere. Many Authentic Mexican joints in Ontario that are a better choice.

I've been here a few times. This is probably the best sit-down Mexican restaurant in town. The food is good. The wait-staff is about what you'd expect from a family restaurant. There's a nice atmosphere here. They have an upstairs room that can be reserved for private parties (for about 15 or so).

Ditto what Sam said. We ate there last night for the first time. The food was good, Americanized Mexican, portions generous. My wife's margurita was excellent. The staff friendly, service very good. We will for sure eat there again the next time we pass through. As a side note, Apollo may want omit the derogatory remarks in future reviews.

Okay, if you move to California and experience what really good Mexican food tastes like, don't come back and have some more in Redneckistan. Despite the nifty atmosphere and friendly staff, the food here really sucks. The salsa picante is just their normal salsa-from-a-can with crushed red peppers in it. I don't know why I keep coming here. I should really learn.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
