High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

This was the first time (weird, I know!) I have ever eaten at a Burgerville so this is a Virgin Burgerville Review. This is the bustling Burgerville in Newberg, Oregon in the heart of Oregon's Pinot Noir country. We were rushed so at here rather than one for a quick meal. The people working here were quite friendly and didn't get annoyed while we stared at the menu like idiots trying to figure out which burger to order. My wife had the Tillamook Cheeseburger and Walla Walla Onion Rings. I had the standard burger fries. They bring the food to your table when it is ready. The Tillamook Cheeseburger was done very well and I will post a picture of it. The onion rings were great. Enormous actually. Unfortunately, the hamburger was similar in look to a McDonalds... enough said. Still, the beef was tasted good. The hamburger patties tasted fresh grilled, not the weird fake-grill taste of Burger King, but really grilled. For a quick burger, I would choose Burgerville over the other standards. (The Fire Chief was eating here in his full regalia having a very serious conversation so I am assuming you can also have unnoticed spy conversations without any locals noticing). Also, a nice wine pairing with the Tillamook Burger would have been nice :)

The best fast food in the NW Great local ingredients, great staff, incredible burgers, shakes, and onion rings. Something awesome for all appetite levels and diets, wish they weren't so 'inconveniently located throughout OR and WA' so I could go more often!

Went through the drive through on our way to the coast. The woman on the speaker who took our order seemed inconvenienced by our order but the woman at the window was chipper and smiley which made us feel better. Unfortunately all 4 of our burgers were cold which is highly disappointing when you spend $6+ per burger, fries were cold as well. Our Walla Walla onion rings were hot as were our fish and chips but it still did not make up for the cold burgers. For our family of 5 including one kids meal our lunch totaled $45.

Yum Yum Yum! Burgerville is the only fast food I will eat and I love this Newberg location! Burgerville always tries to use as natural and sustainable ingredients that they can. Locally raised meats, fresh veggies, and seasonal specials. I also love how involved they are in the community and how friendly the service is. Please don't complain about the price. This is the actual price for food that has not been made from factory farmed animals and GMO tasteless veggies. You pay for quality and convenience. If it is too expensive, then go eat at mickeys or at home.

I strongly dislike fast food, as fast food tends to strongly dislike me. As someone with dietary restrictions that are better followed than ignored, it's rare when I actually eat fast food - but if I do, it's going to be Burgerville. Fresh, locally sourced, green energy, seasonal options - what's not to like? Prices are reasonable, and the bbq sauce can't be beat for tasty - it's one of those sauces that I'd consider using cardboard as roughage to enjoy the taste. I came in at lunch time, and waited rather longer in line than I might wish, as there was only one person at the counter, and a line out the door - not because it was that ridiculously busy, but because one person at the counter can only serve so fast. Past that, the experience was enjoyable, affordable, and tasty, providing a quality mid-day food option.

I LOVE Burgerville, especially their seasonal selection, but I can't get past their prices and honestly I feel like the quality has dropped slightly. All in all it's a nice treat, but I can't afford to be a regular.

As fast-food goes, this is the best! Love the shakes! Burgers are amazing...especially topped with Tilamook cheese. Love going back to the Pac Northwest to get some Burgerville,

I'm a big fan of this chain. Stopped in this location recently and once again was treated to excellent food and friendly service. Worth the extra money over other fast food chains as this company is a great community supporter and purchaser of local and organic products.

Joe Pesci said it best. They screw you at the drive-thru. We come down to Newberg every now and then for wine country. Today we decided to give Burgerville a second try. The laaaast time we went there, the only thing we could conclude is that they gave my wife the kids meal because her burger was pathetically tiny. Of course by the time we discover this miles down the road, we weren't going back. So this time, we got miles down the road and my wife's burger was apparently made with "free dirt." As in the staff apparently didn't wash the lettuce, or dropped it in the floor or something because it had a gritty film on it. Gross. No need to go back here ever again.

I got something in the drive thru where I was owed 70 cents in change and after I paid the girl asked, "Do you want you receipt and change?" I instinctively said "no" because I only expected to be asked if I wanted my receipt. Then she said, "ok" and walked off. Wait, what?!

I try not to rate chain restaurants. Actually, I try not to go to chain restaurants. But sometimes, I'm just in the mood for something generic. Or I'm just feeling generic inside. So anyways, Burgerville is not cool. I never thought I'd hear myself say "why is this chicken flaky like fish?" but, that happened here. Using local ingredients = good, but I found this place really low quality.

This is quite possibly one of your best options for fast-food, of course, it is still fast-food. I tried their Yukon & White Bean Basil Burger and oh was it good. As a vegetarian, it is so nice to have not only a fast food option, but something other than a garden or boca burger available. The service was OK in that they some how messed up the order in which orders were made, as there was a large table of dinners who came a good 10 - 15 minutes after us and they all got their food first, even though they had several separate orders. I did appreciate that the server bring out the food attempted to apologize, but apologized to them for the wait in error instead of us.

LOVE Burgerville. The food is amazing, and the shakes are pretty awesome, too. Love that they buy local. The only downside is that it is way over priced for fast food.

The food is good for fast food, but the prices are a little high for the quality.

  • Flora R.

Over-priced fast food. While Burgerville purchases supplies from local vendors, the savings from that are not passed on to the customer. Some of my favorite foods from Burgerville include the seasonal berry shakes, the rosemary French fries and salads, which taste fresh.

  • N G.

Good, fresh, locally grown ingredients! I tried the pepper bacon burger (after a long debate whether to get that or the Anasazi bean veggie burger). The Yukon gold potato fries were delicious (and in season!). This fast-food restaurant has a menu that changes with the season, depending on what is in season and locally grown. The late summer is supposed to be the best time (think strawberry and blackberry milkshakes) or else the early summer for fresh onion rings. This place rivals the In-N-Out chain in CA. I like the philosophy of keeping everything sustainable and eco-friendly. The menu offers breakfast items and even fish & chips. Pretty nice selection of stuff overall.

A chain is a chain, is a chain. It's Burgerville. It's still fast food. At least the products are local! However, it is a bit expensive just for a burger, but you can feel good about yourself because you're kind of being "green." Typically I get a kid's meal because it's the right amount of food for me and cheaper. (Go through the drive through...you could be ordering for a child...who's at home...) I will say that their shakes are delicious though. Top choice in town for those. This is how I tend to think of it: If I'm getting fast food, at least it's sourced locally, the taste is fine, and if I'm not there much I can spend a little extra.

    (3)
  • William R.

Needed a quick bite around wine tasting but should have gone elsewhere. As noted by others food is high for a chain and it was actually more greasy than McDonalds. Portion of fries in basket meal was small.

I see that there are mixed reviews about Burgerville, but i have yet to be disappointed by them. I just moved back to Oregon after living out of state for 7 years and Burgerville was often on the list of things to do whenever i came back into town to visit family. Now that I'm back for good, i look forward to stopping in more frequently. My 5 star rating comes from comparing it to other fast food and like establishments. Recommendations: Walla walla onion rings (some of the best onion rings I've had); seasonal shakes; Tillamook bacon cheese burger; the house sauce Things to Note: Burgerville is fast food, but 'higher end'. They try to use more fresh and local ingredients. They are a bit more spendy than other fast food, but the quality is higher as well. It has been said to be like an In n Out of the PNW.

I've reviewed other Burgervilles, but I think this may be my favorite -- so it's time to talk Burgerville AGAIN!! It's big and roomy inside, here -- so that even when their parking lot is full, there's still no cramped and crowded feeling inside when you eat. The restroom is clean. The menu and ordering is easy. The fresh iced tea is always crisp and just strong enough. The food is spot-on yummy. The counter crew is friendly and exceptionally helpful --at least every time we've been in. Even during the packed lunch rush -- the young man who took our order on our most recent visit -- went out of his way to help correct a mistake that was made when the order came to the table. As for the food -- we love the local seasonal veggie and fruit additions to the menu. We brought a friend from out-of-state here on the way home from the airport and she made a meal of their Walla-Walla onion rings. The asparagus fries and the strawberry treats are great in the spring -- the blackberry treats are just as good in the late summer. The beef lives up to its reputation in the foodie-est way, and the halibut used in their baskets and fish sandwiches reminds me that I'm just over the river and through the woods from the Pacific Ocean. I love a place that knows the importance of quality ingredients -- even in a burger joint. Or maybe, *especially* in a burger joint.

Hmmmm quality seems to be on a slow decline, while prices are going up. $9 for a double cheese burger, fries, and strawberry shortcake? Really? The chicken tenders are embarrassing and the fish costs more than a sit-down restaurant. Burgers seem really greasy too. Bummer, not the same as it used to be my favorite.

Prices are insane here! No drinks and basic entrees with sides are 30 dollars for two people!

So, I love Burgerville. It is one of the few fast food restaurants I will eat at, actually. This time was a bit of a disappointment, though. I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce instead of a bun (low-carb lifestyle, ya know), and when the bag was handed to me, I honestly thought it was empty. That's how light it was. I had to open the bag and check before I walked out. Sure enough there was something wrapped up in there, so I headed out to my car hoping it was actually food. When I opened the wrapper, I couldn't believe what I was looking at (and that I paid over $4 for it). There were two ultra leafy (not the sturdy, crisp lettuce), floppy pieces of lettuce with a small (3.5" diameter) burger patty in between, and a cold piece of cheese. That's it. I paid $4 for an bite or two of food. I even ordered one of the bigger burgers to make up for the lack of bun, and I got something with less substance that the value menu or kid's burger. No condiments, no toppings, no flavor. Horrible. It won't stop me from going back, necessarily, but that's a huge annoyance and I guess I'll have to be more careful next time.

OK, maybe the waffle fries are the best fries ever.

Burgerville makes a breakfast burrito? Well I'll be. It's not half bad either... well, at least in the abstract. It doesn't hold a candle to one you'll score in the Southwest US, but for a quick morning fix, it'll do. And I'll pay extra to know that my food is locally and sustainably sourced, which makes it happier and healthier than factory farmed crap pumped up with antibiotics, hormones and the like - which is what most fast food is made from. I love that the Burgerville option exists when I need it, and allows me to eat some somewhat guilt-free fast food every now and then.
