Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

A Northwest chain, Burgerville has great burgers and milkshakes. They change the flavor of their milkshakes according to what's in season. My favorite is their Oregon Hazelnut milkshake. A must try if it's on offer! They have the most ingenius radio ads. I love listening to them. Their logo says it all: "Burgerville, where you go when you know."

  • Lars S.

This place rules. The burgers are delicious, the fries and seasonal sides are always great, the smoothies and shakes and ice cream is awesome. It's not completely cheap, but it's tasty and made from good ingredients, so I don't know what more you could want.

    (5)
  • Trisha B.

The girl that works in the morning is the only one that ever gets the order right. 6 out of ten times you order anything, at any other time of day is going to be either made wrong or various items will be forgotten. They do have bitchin onion rings and asparagus spears, though.

  • Techie F.

I tried the spicy bean vegan burger and while I think the prices are high I did enjoy the burger. The lettuce was a full leaf and the tomato was a full slice. This is a popular place in Monmouth.

  • Julia V.

The burgers here are mediocre, though they do use good ingredients. What you really want to come here for is the seasonal foods, like rosemary fries and sweet potato fries. The seasonal shakes are also fantastic --I'm a huge fan of the cherry shakes. Their seasonal cookies can be hit and miss though. My complaint is that orders are often wrong if you use the drive through. Some food also doesn't look appetizing at all. Burgers are guilty of this due to the cheap bun. I would recommend coming here for anything but burgers.

    (3)
  • Lou S.

The prices are higher than typical fast food restaurants, but that's understandable, really, seeing as their ingredients are locally sourced and of high quality. The burgers can be hit or miss, but mostly they're good. And the shakes are off the hook good; I can hardly drive by the place without stopping to get one. Burgerville is a positive part of the Monmouth community, too. In addition to sourcing the ingredients locally, they also have frequent fundraising events for local groups including various organizations from Western Oregon University.

  • Robert D.

I keep trying to like it, but they keep doing things to disappoint me. Today the lady behind the counter was very pleasant, but my burger was smashed. How? There's nothing else in the bag. It was also thrown together without much thought. As you can see from the photo, the ketchup was oozing out the side. The pickles (2 slices) were on top of each other on one side. The burger itself wasn't close to centered. It was warm, not hot too. The cheese wasn't even melted. If I'm going to pay a lot more than other fast food places, it better be much higher quality, and this place just isn't.

  • Jim B.

The staff here is accurate, fast as lightning and very friendly, best fast food place I've been to in a while!

I love and grew up on Burgerville! Absolutely love it! The prices are ridiculous but the food is generally great!

    (4)
  • Alix P.

It was a good burger the price was a little high the fries where really good but not very many of them and it was quick

  • Eric E.

I have been to this Burgerville several times and it always seems to be crammed. However because it is always so busy all the tables are either full or dirty. Most of the time you have to clean/bus your own table if the prior patrons didn't. Other than that the food is always great at Burgerville even though it's a bit spendy. My mom and I spent $18 on just two burger baskets. We could have eaten at Red Robin or other such place for that price.

Burgerville is definitely a great place to grab a burger, especially if you're looking for quality. Their burgers never disappoint in flavor and serving. Wide variety of menu options for a burger joint. Many menu options for those who want to watch what they eat such as vegan options, or vegetarian options. The prices are kind of high, but you definitely get what you pay for. The food is so delicious! My favorites include any milkshakes and the pepper-bacon burger. The milkshakes are spun to order and the burger is so juicy. They have seasonal items that I am a very big fan of such as fried asparagus, and rosemary fries. Definitely a must-try in good 'ol Monmouth, OR!

  • Chris S.

Disappointing. Ate there yesterday, it took 14 minutes for the cashier to bring our order, which arrived lukewarm and soggy. Then she hung around and asked several times if she could clear our basket or refill our drinks, creepy. Almost $8 for a manky cheeseburger, think not. They should pay more attention to quality and less on press.

  • Nerak Y.

Skip the burger, you can do a lot better at Five Guys. However, the milkshakes are fabulous, and the onion rings are really good! We visited the Monmouth location at the end of August, had a Tillamook cheeseburger, totally meh -- the meat tasted like warm beef-flavored cardboard, the cheese slice was so thin you could see through it. No flavor at all. BUT the marionberry milkshake was the best part of the meal. Friendly service, though, but we really won't go back unless we're in the mood for another milkshake.

******3.5***** Since Burgerville is only a west coast thing...and since it happened to have one RIGHT in my hometown, We decided to hit this place up again. Got some chicken tenders and fries - were average..not the greatest but not the worst. Also, when I went the ICE was out and also the soda wasn't carbonated...thats why I didn't give it a 4 stars. You would think after people complaining they would fix it right away but instead they didn't fix it until after I finished my meal (15 min later) .

  • Susan L.

Fresh, local, sustainable. We had to try out a local fastfood joint. The bacon burger was eh, at McDonalds level (if not worse). The pumpkin milkshake was pretty good! Fresh local pumpkins. The sweet potato fries were decent. The service was awesome. Cashier and server ser nice and friendly. Everything here is recyclable and compostable, including the ketchup container! All in all, I would skip burger. So sad it's named as the Burgerville of USA

    (3)
  • Lew L.

Love all the NW products! Salmon/hazelnut salad is my favorite! Seasonal shakes are the reason we keep going back. We've moved away from Oregon. Have to hit Burgerville whenever we get back in state.

  • Angel B.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. My burger tasted rotten, my milkshake wasn't mixed the syrup just sat on top I'd think a place so pricey would atleast use real strawberries...but no it was worse than a McDonald's shake... I ended up vomiting and couldn't eat for the rest of the night. Shame on you burgerville for serving such slop.

I love Burgerville. The menu is awesome, their philosophy on fast food ingredients is cool. That being said, this is sadly the worst one I've been to (out of at least five--all of the others are really quite clean and great) and unfortunately the only one we live near-ish to. Cons: --been ignored by staff several times going inside even just walking up to the counter to order --it's always dirty inside, even if the place is not busy--and I can understand there's not time to clean when they are slammed and that is often, but many times we're there and it's dead and I still have to wipe food off my seat and table first. I have yet to go in and see it clean. --several times had disappointing food-cold, overcooked burger and wet buns. I love a good fast food cheeseburger, but I don't order them at this location because the burger seems to always be overcooked and lacking flavor. Pros: --it's very good at least 70% of the time, the food is fresh and I like the business model. I get the turkey burger because it doesn't seem to be as sensitive to being overcooked as the beef. --the seasonal sides and shakes are why we keep going back --breakfast is also great --the drive thru service is usually great! quick and friendly. If you're hoping for a life changing fast food experience, pick a different Burgerville location, or drive through. I still like Burgerville but I keep my expectations low at this location.

Local, fresh, friendly, clean, LOVE it! What can I say? Local products are huge for a fast food joint! $8 for a kids meal is obsurd but that's the price for thinkgs like Umpqua, Tillamook and Drape Valley Chicken, I suppose. Chicken strips were undercooked (Eeek!) but the problemo was fixed asap. I am a super duper fan of veggie burgers and I love both of their options! also like that the fries are not salty unless you want them to be :) Penny has been absolutely wonderful to us both times we have been in. Thanks, Penny!!!!

It's a good burger....but not as good as Canada steak burger

Burgerville outdoes California. How many California fast food chains (like In-N-Out and The Habit) have "local/fresh/sustainable" splashed across their milkshakes? Their Tillamook cheeseburgers are excellent, as are their veggie burgers (that change according to the season) They have the best onion rings. While my order got messed up (I didn't get my side order of Walla Walla onion rings with chipotle mayo dipping sauce), it was overall excellent. The place is clean... and on a Sunday afternoon, it's hopping. Despite its unassuming name, Burgerville is a true Pacific Northwest gem.

Stopped by for a burger and cross cut fries, and a drink. People in front of us in line were to be kind chaotic. And needed a lot of attention. It took time just to order. Then those chaotic people caused a lot of the employees time with messed up confusion. We were amazed to get our food in a quick timed manor. Correct orders to all of us. The management came to our table with apologies for the delay, and a 10 dollar gift card. A delay we never noticed. And a pleasure to stop and eat. Everything was clean, including the restrooms. While we were eating someone was constantly cleaning the eating area.

  • Ben M.

Food is good and seasonal promos like onion rings and special milkshakes are greats! But!!!! The prices are ridiculous, the food is not that much better than McDonald's!

  • Sara R.

Burgerville is delicious. They have good burgers, fries, and drinks. Excellent shakes, and the best strawberry shortcakes, when they are in season. We will drive from Salem to Monmouth for dinner at Burgerville because we like them so much.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the B-Ville! I was traveling through OR with my parents-in-law and they wanted to stop for burgers. "Oh, great" I think,"there goes my healthy eating plan." But wait, this fast food joint has veggie burgers! And not just one veggie burger, but multiple choices! And they have fried asparagus? Holy smokes, I gotta try that. So the healthy eating plan wasn't totally busted, just a little busted. And thanks to their Nutricate receipt that prints out the nutritional value of your meal, I know that I consumed 805 calories for lunch. Still too many calories, but it could have been worse (as evidenced by the calories listed for my husband's meal). The selection is good, the service is good, the taste is good, and they get extra points for using local, sustainable products. B-Ville, would you please come to Texas? Pretty please!

    (5)
  • Larry D.

Very Overpriced and it seems they expect you to take it, cuz they are Oregon local and have been able to limit competition from coming to Monmouth. I found nothing really exciting about the burgers, not juicy, kinda dry. Go to a bar and grill instead.

    (2)
  • Emily R.

Whyyyyyy don't we have these in San Diego?!?!?! My bacon cheeseburger was DELICIOUS, and the fries were pretty damn good, too. But then, I had the Northwest Cherry Chocolate Milkshake... O. M. G. It was sooooo good!!!! I tried not to think about the fact that the small 12 oz size was 750 calories... !!!!!!!!!!! I guess maybe it IS a good thing we don't have these in San Diego......

the wanted in 48 states billboard drew me in. I'm an advertising trap. I used to think, "yay, I'm traveling through Monmouth, I'll stop at Burgerville". The thing is - it's never that good. I've had 2 instances where my emphatic "no mayo" with my harvest burger is ignored. The fries are never great. I ate a chicken sandwich from there with the largest piece of cartilage ever. They use local products and I'm all for that. The local products should taste good, though.

  • Mack J.

I grew up with this Bergerville. I honestly don't get why people like it. Its really expensive for what you get. What do you get? a burger that tastes like something I made on my George Foreman grill. If your going to drop 7 dollars on a burger, go to a diner, the wait will be the same, and you'll get a much better value.

    (2)
  • Miriam H.

Burgerville is not just fast food, it is really, really GOOD fast food. The local food using inseason produce is great. My best friends just loves the sweet potato fries.

  • Jane S.

It's easy to compare Burgerville to its more famous California counterpart, In N Out. Both feature local ingredients and restrict the construction of new restaurants to a small radius so that meat and potatoes never need to be frozen for shipping. Both are responsible employers, treating their kitchen and waitstaff far better than their big corporate counterparts in the fast food world. Both pride themselves on their clean stores and friendly service. But when it comes to the quality and taste of the food itself, Burgerville thoroughly whomps In N Out. I make this comparison a) for the sake of all the California transplants who make their way to the Pacific Northwest, and b) because In N Out is often cited as the gold standard to which all chain fast food is compared. I admit that I am a big fan of the crossed palms myself, but Burgerville deserves its due as In N Out's equal, if not superior. Burgerville substitutes Oregon Tillamook for In N Out's waxy American cheese, and fresh seasonal shakes for their generic (if tasty) basic chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla concoctions. Burgerville's fries are crisp and hearty where In N Out's are often flaccid or dried out. You do pay more for the quality, and there is no fun secret menu, but it's still a fairly cheap place to get good fast food.

  • Jando S.

Where does one go in the city that has only one traffic light? Burgerville baby, and get a shake with some fries with that. The teenagers and young adults of Monmouth all parade here like its church, except with artery clogging fast food. I must admit the shakes are pretty good here. Evidently the rest of the town and those passing by know as well since the lines here are ridiculous, even during the night. Go for the burger filled with onion rings and a giant shake, your ass will hate me for it!

    (3)
  • Danielle K.

Of course this is pretty much one of the only places open in Monmouth until 11 p.m., so of course, people hang out here around 10:30 getting their milkshake on. They've always been friendly, and they even give a 10 percent discount with your Western student ID card! But what's always baffled me, is that people in Salem (specifically the staff of the Statesman-Journal) love Burgerville SOOOOOO much that they drive the 20 miles both ways to get some on their lunch breaks. That's just effed up. It's fast food, for cripe's sake!

    (3)
  • Bryce L.

Fuck me, this place is delicious. I know I shouldn't be eating fast food but bville is like a newborn puppy stuffed with crack. It's euphoria is highly addictive with a deceivingly harmless exterior.

    (5)
  • Joshua M.

This Burgerville is not 2 shabby. Been by here a few times on my way home from work, the few times I did stop here the burgers seem to be fresh. Some of the Burgerville's these days have gone down know quality, but this one seems 2 be on par!

    (4)
  • Kyle R.

"THE" place to go if you live in Monmouth, lol. But seriously -- they have excellent fries...maybe the best I've had. But being the Gardenburger freak that I am, once they got rid of the official Gardenburger a year or two ago, I just don't go here anymore. The new ones SUCK...sorry to say. Anyway, the joint is decent -- with a small town vibe. They got rid of their jukebox awhile back, which was kinda nice to have.
