Like the chicken: tasty & addictive - has not been sitting out too long so is still moist. Good crunchy coleslaw. Fries just barely OK, sometimes cold. Mac & Cheese run-of-the-mill OK. Red Beans & Rice not much flavor - less than OK. Business seems to have slowed way down (compared to when they originally opened) so good news is you don't have to wait for food very long. Only 2 stars because in the last 3 visits, they have made mistakes on the order all 3 times. If they are going to mess up orders frequently, I can see why the business would keep declining.

We went into restaurant and had a great experience. The guy that took our order was also taking orders from the drive thru. I called back to store to get his name. David was the name I was told and he was wonderful. Unfortunately a drink of ours was spilled and he was so nice to help. The food was great and wait time was reasonably quick. This is only the second time patronizing Popeye's and so far it just gets better!

We stop here about every other week on the way back from seeing my chiropractor. The staff is always super friendly, we get our food in a timely manor and they have always got our order right. Good food that fills you up for a decent price. Another thing I love about Popeyes is that they are not stingy with their dipping sauces and don't make you feel bad if you want extra. Keep up the great customer service!!!!

the drivethru voice "Welcome back" Me "Yeah well, I was just here a few minutes ago, my order is wrong" (sooner than you think) We had waited in the aux lot for 10 minute to get our drive thru order the first go round, and the lady came out once to figure out what order number we were. Then gave us the wrong order.all the sides were wrong, the tenders were normal instead of spicy. heheh, the only thing right was the dipping sauce. So round two, I go back thru the drivethru and try to explain that we really just need the sides but she cuts me off and returns with a whole new order, yeah it right, but now we have way too much food. I guess they would rather reprocess the order (or it was sitting on a counter misplaced in the first place) And since they never included spoons or forks, we had to use the chicken tenders as shovels to eat the rice and beans. Silly Popeyes. Oh Mcgloughlin even your chain stores are terrible. (have you visited the Jack in the Box, it's also way worst here in Milwaukie than any Jack in the box I've been to) Starbucks and Mcdonalds seems to be only Milwaukie food stops without major problems - sad day.

I see they have decided to honor the National ads now and I have seen the prices for them in the window. Probably because they are not that busy and the owner came back to reality.

Such a disappointment. If you expected all Popeye's to be created equal, they are not. I went at a relatively slow time during opening weekend and ordered Red Beans and rice. while other restaurants will fill the Styrofoam container up this place, on separate occasions, failed to put the correct portion of product in the cup. Also when I ordered the large size I got a very liquidy version of the classic. Hardly any rice which led me to be totally unhappy with my meal. Too be honest the red beans were sparse too which left me with mostly brown goop. It may be the same flavor as other Popeye's but I've never been served slop like this before. Biscuits were good and consistent to the brand. When we ordered spicy our chicken was not. I'm not talking not spicy enough but literally no seasoning. Didn't even get any Cajun seasoning... We literally had both the drive threw guy and cashier lady repeat our orders back to us specifying "spicy." I realize this is opening weekend but to have such inconsistent product is almost defacing the name of Popeye's! I freaking love Popeye's and this branch is a joke!

Popeye's comes to Milwauke. It's good, its spicy, it's authentic cajun fried chicken and more. I like it. I wish the prices were a little lower but it's a great change from the Colonel. This place just opened and it was doing land office business at 3 in the afternoon on a Thursday - apparently a lot of people are eager to try it out. I had the shirmp po' boy and onion rings. I've been to several other popeye's and I can't recommend their cajun fries - I don't like coated fries of any persuasion and these don't impress me any more ( or less ) than the rest. I grew up near Galveston TX and a shrimp po'boy is one of those things that you just don't remember how much you like them until you move away from places that sell them. The food was served hot - it took a while to actually get it served to me but I suspect that is more related to being the third day they were open and having huge crowds. I like their food - they add a little spice or more to everything they make and this is no exception. This was a taste of home and I really liked it. If they manage to keep the crowds up that I saw today then they will regret not building out more seating. I drove past several of my favorite places to eat to get here, and I'll do it again.... (Perhaps in a couple of weeks after the crazy crowds lighten up.)

Beware of order wait times.. I was the only one at the drive-thru line.. After ordering and paying, the girl tells me there is a 5 minute wait on fish because they fry it fresh, and that I needed to park by Walgreens and wait. Turns out there are a half a dozen cars waiting ahead of me. 15 minutes later and still no food

Drive thru was quick, employees were nice, food order was correct and hot. Didn't really care for the gravy on the mashed but my husband loved it. Glad I didn't let the negative reviews keep me from trying this place. Wasn't as expensive as people let on. No different than KFC prices and the chicken is much better.

Pretty good at this new Popeyes location on SE McLoughlin. I've been to a couple of other Popeyes locations around town, but sometimes their chicken seems a bit dried out (like it had been sitting around too long or something). Anyway, it was good and fresh today at this place. I ordered chicken tenders because I like white meat, didn't want to mess around with any bones, and wanted to avoid the skin (where most of the fat is). The coating had a nice crunch to it, and the pieces were't greasy at all. Also, the coating tasted just right to me. . .it wasn't overly salty like at KFC. I noticed they have jambalaya on their menu too. I'll come back to try that some other time. I like jambalaya and am not sure what a "fast food" version would be like, but if it's as tasty as their fried chicken, I'm sure it would be fine.

Growing pains, people. Like many of the other reviewers noted, I found the drive-through service pretty slow, compared to other Popeye's. In fact, they darn near made me late getting back to work from lunch break, and that was at about 0200 in the am. So the servers are obviously new to the biz. The place is brand freakin'' new, what does anybody expect? They got my large group orders right each time, the food was hot fresh and delish, and the servers, though obviously new to their jobs, were unfailingly polite. I had no problem overall w/this brand new addition to the local Popeye's family... but just for the record, the "cool" one will always be MLK and Ainsworth, baby...

Let's play a game where we visit a place a few times before we write a review. Go. Yes, the place has been busy--so busy that you're almost mad that you can't exercise your inalienable right to tasty chicken. On a couple occasions, I've arrived to turn right back around and go home unfulfilled. It will slow down eventually, folks. This will not be the way of things for much longer. The food. You're going to a place with a drive through. If you want a "dining experience," you may be at the wrong place. I agree that the price is a little on the high side, but as long as demand is high, the prices will be as well. The few successful transactions I have had were consistently good. No missing items, food cooked and seasoned well. Parking is an issue at this location. Even if you do nab a spot, the lot isn't laid out well, so you may have difficulties getting out depending on the state of the drive through line. Get the blackened ranch dipping sauce. Enjoy your meal!

Food was good, service was polite. Portions are very small, smaller then I remember in the past.

I miss KFC. Waited so long order was cold. Onion rings were the skin of the onion! Second time there and still disappointed. Wondering why people love it so much.?
