We were in a hurry so we looked for a counter to get faster service, but didn't find one so sat at a small table. We appreciated the amazingly fast service and didn't mind not sitting at a counter. The Eggs Benedict were rather good and the biscuits and gravy were OK. I prefer mine with a strong sausage flavor and these were mostly seasoned with pepper. While this is not my thing, it was well executed. All of the food was of good quality and tasty.

Basic breakfast joint, courteous prompt greeting when I walked in, and the food choices were typical breakfast fare.

Pros: Breakfast served all day, great service, free wifi Cons: Atmosphere is similar to Applebees Only been here once, but the omelet and home fries were okay. Nothing special.

This is one of those places that we went to a couple years ago and weren't impressed and in a late weekend afternoon of desperation we went back a week or so ago. I don't understand all the positive reviews. The place was empty, yet we were totally ignored by our waitress..water glasses sitting empty, no check back to see how things were. I ordered a french dip and a side of soup. The french dip was on a strange bread that was overwhelming the entire sandwich. The soup was supposed to be a white bean soup, but it had a tomato-type base to it. It didn't taste good so I didn't eat it. The waitress didn't ask if everything was okay or anything. The prices were average, but with poor food quality it was too much. Add to that the crazy eclectic decor which is distracting, Spicers doesn't rank in my top ... 20. Go at your own risk.

The food was just OK. Don't expect anything special....I had the chicken fettuccine and cream of mushroom soup (homemade and delicious - best part of the entire meal), followed by a lemon meringue pie (very plain). Many of the items were "slapped together" without much care. Some of the things were obviously frozen a few minutes ago (like the onion rings my boyfriend had, and the burger). Even though I was hungry, I could tell that they didn't spend too much time preparing their meals. It lacked that "home-made" specialty that you get in many other places. Service was fast and good, portions are very good size, and the place looked clean. Will go there again to try some breakfast items next time.

I like breakfast. I like eggs and pancakes and good ol' turkey sausage. My boyfriend and I like to go out to breakfast on the weekends and share a big meal. We heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try. What a mistake. First of all, it's all the way out on Crater Lake and we passed about 3 other breakfast places on the way that blow this place out of the water. Second, there were flies everywhere which was disgusting and confusing to me. How did an indoor restaurant get so many flies in their dining room? Third, which deserves its own paragraph, is the wretched food. How hard is it to make some scrambled eggs? I say "Please do not overcook my eggs" and they come out greasy and rubbery. The pancakes tasted like salt. That is all I ordered. Bad coffee. Bad eggs. Bad pancakes. Three things I can whip up at home in no time, for way less money, without getting dressed and driving over to Crater Lake. I will never go back. I told the waitress I didn't like my eggs, she disregarded the fact that my pancakes weren't barely touched. She took them off the bill but didn't say anything else. Breakfast places: Learn how to cook breakfast.

wow! i AM a fan. we were in town from the coast to do some shopping at home depot, target and costco and needed to eat something decent. being totally unfamiliar with the area, and knowing i did not want a costco dog, we spotted the 'spicers restaurant' sign and decided to take a chance. holy cow. my bacon/cheese burger without the bun was totally awesome. my side of fresh fruit was fresh and was real fruit. (you'd be surprised what some places try to pass off as fresh fruit!) chrystie was great - she refilled my pepsi glass 4 (that's 'four' times). love my pepsi and many places carry that 'other' cola. hubby's spicy pastrami was excellent. and he ate the whole thing...'cept for what i tasted and pinched off. the potato salad he had as his side was actually really good. we won't plan trips into medford frequently, but now that we know about spicers, we'll know exactly where to stop for a bite.

A humble but bustling escape from the terror of sprawling shopping centers outside. Spicers offers a wide...and I mean smorgasbord of "traditional" American menu options. Even with a bubbly (and extremely coffee-attentive) staff, there were holes in their breakfast basics. Digs: As we entered signage was heavily posted about specials, gift cards etc. that shouted for your attention; it was quite charming with an interesting center console encased in glass where money transactions were made and the titled "Espresso" perhaps; had the feeling of a local diner trying to survive the onslaught of breakfast chains; Mullets were also plentiful, which brought it's own entertainment; Ate: Spicer Browns Plus (Large) - below average hash - shockingly it was not a gut clogging pile of hash browns, bloat-worthy for one (we shared); topped with bacon and smothered with jack cheese; it seemed to be half-way cooked and not that golden crunch I was hoping for; Toast came ~15min after hash and apologies from the cheery waitress; Drank: Espresso - duh! More like D'oh! Again I'm not an expert master barista but this tiny cup did not have the signature fruity sharpness taste I've come to know from many cups in Seattle, PDX...and Italy (I know it's snobby to say) but - sad little espresso; Coffee - fine - server would watch our cups like a hawk! Overall: It's ill presented hash, delayed toast and poor cup of caffeine burnt away it's chances to be a strong breakfast contender in Medford. The only highlight was the happiness of the server saving us from having a gloomy experience. Buttercloud, Morning Glory and Brothers are our staples thus far.

Ahhh, Spicer's. I've eaten at this restaurant a dozen times or more, typically as a business get-together. Its location right off the Crater Lake Hwy and adjacent to WalMart makes it ideal for meeting folks. The food is always merely passable. Like any greasy-spoon diner, there is typically a special of the day that consists of the usual ingredients. There are burgers and sandwiches, although this is known as a breakfast restaurant, I suspect, all day long. Like any American chain breakfast restaurant (Denny's, IHOP, Shari's, or in this area Black Bear Diner), the food is very plain, unless you order the most exctravagant dish. To put it another way, their eggs are fine and boring, but if you order them dressed them in hollandaise, gravy, and three kinds of frikkin' meat, you get a plate that is quite spectacular. The service is friendly at Spicer's, but don't expect a lot of help with the menu. The meat portions are large: breakfast sausage, corned beef hash (from a can), etc. The coffee refills are steady. The bacon tends on the thicker side. Another note: expect to leave Spicer's smelling like you worked in the kitchen. I suspect some ventilation issues, and while a very clean restaurant, it will make you smell like greasy fried stuff for an hour after you leave.

Spicers has consistently good food. Today I ordered the Pastrami Reuben sandwich with a side of vegetable soup. The sandwich was good but the bread was too thin; by the time I was ready for the second half, the bread had become soggy where the condiments soaked through. The soup was good and not salty as is so often the case. We got excellent value from our meal with a coupon and because were such old farts.

My bud works here and will make you happy for breakfast, pit ham & eggs are what you want or build your own omelets, fresh huge cinnamon rolls the size of your head. Coffee selection is so awesome. Lunch & Dinner do the prime rib with unlimited fries, sweet potato fries included, get there to eat or just chill out with friends and have a cup of joe;)
