I have such a weakness for little Mom n Pop's and this one is that in spades. I assume our server was the Mom; she was sweet and fussed over us. The menu has pictures of all of the dishes for those uninitiated in Thai cuisine. They also have dinner combinations to the back of the menu which would be great for the timid. She took our order, repeating the number associated with each of the dishes that we chose. The chicken satay was cooked without being dried out, marinated with yogurt and curry, but not grilled, which would have really added to the flavor. As it was, it was pleasant but not exceptional. Our Tom Ka Kai soup was a little one-dimensional. The same was true of our red curry with pork. The heat was like black pepper rather than the sweet, hot, salty complex flavors better kitchens produce. But then we get back to this being a little Mom n Pop operation. We chatted a little with our hostess after our meal. She told us that it is their pride and goal that their food is just as their long time customers have always had it. They made a point of always serving their food so that it always looks just like the pictures in their menus. They are celebrating their tenth anniversary at the end of this month. They have a sign in their restaurant inviting their customers to the restaurant to help them celebrate. Think about it. How many restaurants can you think of that have celebrated a tenth anniversary? Yeah, I couldn't think of any either. And that says quite a lot. There are at least seven Thai restaurants in town and I bet Siam's customers are among the most loyal. I struggle with my score here, because I like the place; but like I like an old fashioned Chinese restaurant--comfortable but not as sophisticated as I would like and I have had much better.

Can't say enough about the food: fresh, tasty, incredible flavors. I eat Thai whenever possible, and this is as good as it gets. Lots of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The green curry with egg plant is outrageous. You don't come here for the ambiance. But the prices are great (most meals under $10), the owner serves most customers, and, again, the food is fantastic. I've tried every Thai place in Medford and nothing comes close.

My favorite restaurant. I've been coming here since I was a teenager, and I am permanently hooked. The fried tofu is my absolute favorite of any restaurant I've ever been to. The fried rice is so good, I have cravings for it. And the service is like none other, Boo is an amazing lady who has always taken good care of me when I come in. Friendly, delicious, good prices. I couldn't ask for more.

I love this place-- tasty Thai food, quick service at lunch. They have an extensive menu-- both their green and red curries rock! They made it spicy per my request and got it just right. Nice prices too-- lunch for 1 with Thai iced tea was about $12 and I got salad, egg roll, rice with my lunch entree, plus the tasty drink. Not bad! Great lunch option in Medford.

2nd visit - LOVE this place! Kindest, most friendly with awesome food. Wonton soup (large to share in a flaming serving bowl) & pad Thai for 2.

I travel to Medford quite a lot for work and I must say this is one of my favorite eateries here. This is not a fancy place but just a homely place to get some really good Thai food. It seems like a family owned place and the two ladies that run the place are super friendly and they can cook some serious food. My favorite things here are pad kee mao and pad thai noodles. Their coconut shrimp soup is pretty awesome too. One thing I should warn you though - they're pretty serious about their spice levels. They can cook some delicious hot food.

Love this sweet and delicious thai restaurant ! It's unassuming place from the outside and is homey with an old school thai restaurant feel on the inside. The owner just wants to take care of the people and serve good food! They make thai ice tea perfect ( not everybody does). Great salads, spring rolls and lunch specials. The green curry was delectable and spicy. We had a great spicy noodle dish too! Great prices and excellent service. A must for good, inexpensive and delicious food.

I was so glad when I discovered what was in this little building years ago. I had my first Thai food here and fell in love, I've tried several places since and have not found any that beat the great food and excellent service Boo provides! My favorite is anything with her Peanut Sauce, YUM!

Well, I'll say there sure is a bit more to choose from for restaurants in Medford, than there was in Yreka! I'm here just one night and need dinner. The restaurant at the hotel just didn't inspire me. Yelping, I found this place with pretty good reviews. The interior in here seems really nice and , well, Thai looking. The greeter was very cordial and I'm seated. I'm by myself this time for dinner. Dining by yourself with Asian food in general isn't the most optimal situation, since it hard to get to taste very many dishes by yourself. To me, Thai food and most Asian foods are best enjoyed family style where all the food is shared, as opposed to Western style, where everybody gets their own dish and you don't share, unless it's your sweetie. Anyhow, I see on the menu here, they have the lone diner in mind, either that or people that just don't want to share. There are called Combination Plates, but the choices which are many, all seem more Chineasy or Japaneasy than Thai. Some of the choices were Teriyaki Chicken or Beef or BBQ Chicken and beef or Cashew Chicken, all served with fried rice and an egg roll. I'd like to get more than one dish to eat, but none of those combinations all in the $14 - $15 range got me too excited. Instead I went with one of my usuals at Thai restaurants, Panang Curry with steamed rice. ($11.45) I saw Angel Wings as an appetizer, ($11.00) for 2 pieces. Angel Wings are usually chicken wings that have been deboned and still intact (How they do that I have no idea) and stuffed with ground meat and bean thread noodles and sometimes some veggies and then fried crispy. The price always seems high for wings, but I guess there's a lot of labor and skill that goes into making them. So I order a 2 piece order. To drink I get a Thai Iced Tea ($2.50). My tea arrive first. Good not too much ice! I hate when I get Thai Iced Teas and it over half ice! The flavor is good as it should be. As I wait for my dinner to arrive, I notice this seems like a real tranquil setting, that's nice. My wings arrive first. Woe, those looks nice. It comes with a dipping sauce, that orangy sort of sweet one. The skin is nice and crispy as I crunch down, the inner flavors and a bit nutty texture meld with the crispy skin in my mouth. Ahhh, quite nice! I'm not quite finished with the wings and my curry and rice arrive. The portion is a decent size, and the rice is hot. I notice the thickness of the curry is the right consistency. Some places it's a bit too watery for me, but each restaurant has it's own recipe, so that's just how it is. Mixing the curry with my rice, I smell the nice aromas of the curry. The flavors are subtle and have great depth, without any one over powering the other. That nice balance is hard to come by and shows the skills of the chef. OK, one of the better Panang Curries I've had ... and I've had a lot. With, both the chicken wings and the curry, I'm quite full. No dessert for me tonight. Prices are not out of line here and are worth the quality you get. If I ever come back to Medford, I'll return here!

The place was empty and filled only a bit as we dined. Yet the service was non existent. Never asked how things were (horrid) and no water refresh. Real problem is we ordered medium and the food came so spicy it was uneatable and our mouths and throats burned. We ordered seafood stir fry and the sauce was awful and the seafood scarce. No one on the floor to ask for help or assistance until the door opened. So disappointed. We won't be back.

I've been a loyal customer of Siam for around 5 years--and overall, it's a solid choice for flavorful thai food in Medford! The owner is a sweet woman from Thailand who serves you with love. The food is consistently flavorful and fresh--and they know how to make noodles and curry, which are both problematic and cooked wrong at most local Thai restaurants in Medford. One caution is that if you go at lunch time, be sure to specify that you want the lunch version of whatever it is that you are ordering: while most restaurants at 12:30PM will assume you want the lunch version, that is not the case here, and you may end up without your egg roll and a larger portion of food for around a $1 more--not a big deal, but if you are after lunch at lunch, take caution. Picks for me are the Pad Si Ew, the Curry's (my wife loves 'em here), and the Phad Thai (jazzed up my own custom way with extra spice and the addition of broccoli). Don't be put off by the location or physical plant of this place--the old rule of most Asian restaurants applies here: if the building and interior are sketchy looking, you can usually plan on some excellent food (not always, but in my experience the best Asian places are typically not in the prettiest of buildings or have the best interior). Happy eating!

Small place, but good food. Boo, the owner, is very nice. Cucumber salad is delicious! As is everything else I have tried (curry, pad thai, different soups). One of my favorite places to go for a casual lunch or dinner in Medford.

I came at lunch time so the place was not packed but the service nonetheless was excellent. Me and my girlfriend both ordered full entrees that tasted good. Also the appetizer 'Spring Rolls' were AWSOME.

I've been looking for a good thai restaurant here in medford and this is it, this wonderful hidden gem!!Had the chicken pad Thai and it was absolutely delicious, and you get a good size serving especially for the price! Also had the thai iced tea and it was quite sweet but overall very tasty. I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it if you're in the area.

Best thai cuisine in medford! Service always the best, Boo is an absolute sweetheart and the service is very prompt. I got the chicken pad thai w/ extra spice and it was killer! The green onions are not over worked in it and bring out the amazing quality of this plate. The unique dish you can get from here is an absolutely perfect pumpkin curry. A little sweetness thanks to the pumpkin and some extra kick from some thai peppers (if you so choose). Come here and you will keep coming back for more! You won't be disappointed!

Pretty dismal food. This is not authentic Thai. 2.5 stars I wanted to like the place because Medford needs a good Thai restaurant but I was disappointed. Won't be back. Having lived in NYC, SF and LA i know good Thai. We had Pad Thai, dumplings, Won ton, Hot and sour soup, Green curry with fish, BBQ Chicken. Everything we had was disappointing, bland over cooked and not real fresh. Chicken was really dry, tough like it had been frozen or reheated. Dumplings and won ton had very little flavor and very little stuffing, probably the worst I have ever had. Trader Joe has better frozen dumplings. The green curry was so so but again fish was tough, Frozen Tilapia probably. A Garbage fish. Catfish would be a better choice fish and is the norm in fish curry. Will still be looking for a good Thai place in the RRV.

The owner (Boo) has the best thai food in town. Her Pho is especially tasty. So far everything I have tried is amazing. I am a regular. Go for the Phad Prik King or the Phad Thai, both are excellent!

I used to go to Tasty Thai all the time.... After getting. Bad service a couple times I started looking for other Thai restaurants in town Siam cafe as the warmest feeling at home with great food good service with a warm heart.. I always get a custom dish that they always make for me without any problem.. Peanut sauce with chicken spicy wide noodles and veggies but their best interest of the cert homemade coconut ice cream served with the fried banana served with toasted coconut shavings. Very decadent!!

Second time in a month later and possibly better than the first. I travel a lot for business and have since tried many other Thai places, non of them yet have stacked up to this place!

I ordered stir-fry veggies with chicken and fried rice from the lunch menu. The sauce was so-so; the veggie mix okay and the fried rice had tiny amounts of veggies and egg with saffron. It came with salad that was okay and a good veggie egg-roll with a bit of mildly spicy sauce. It was busy at noon, maybe because it is near the Justice Bldg. and County Courthouse.

Most authentic I've found in the area, comparable to southern California and reno restaurants. Flavorful! I absolutely love the grilled beef salad, the dressing is what makes the ordinary iceberg lettuce dish delicious. You can taste the fresh garlic, spicy chili pepper and fish sauce. The red curry was also above expectations, the curry flavor was not drowned in coconut milk. We also ordered pot stickers which were deep fried, which was okay, would have preferred pan fried. The seasoning in the pad keep mow was excellent, but the dish could have used more vegetables. Looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu.

A friend visiting soon wanted me to act as "guinea pig"- you know, check it out before they got here, so I did. The service was quick & friendly- I've always been told 'if they speak the language, it's authentic', so I was certainly hopeful with what I heard in the back of the kitchen. The space may be quaint, but it's brightly lit & decorated with Asian trinkets & pictures. Everything is relatively cheap in price, which seems nicer on the wallet. I had what was called Pra Ram Rong Srong- stir fried broccoli with curry & peanut sauce; you get your choice of beef, pork, or tofu, with shrimp or salmon is an extra $3, & everything comes with rice. The presentation was nice- the protein & sauce fit in the middle of the plate, bordered with vibrant green broccoli & a little mountain of rice to finish things off. I think, initially, I read 'stir fried' & thought the broccoli would be, but was oddly relieved that the broccoli was simply steamed. The flavors were spot on- a nice low burn from the curry mixed with a surprising sweetness from the peanut. It did seem a little sauce heavy, but that didn't make it a bad thing by any means. I think it was a very good experience overall &, with a well-deserved tip, the whole meal came out to $10.20. Siam Cafe was definitely delicious & not only would I definitely go back, I'd definitely encourage others to come check them out!

I absolutely love this place! Bo the owner is so cute and the staff is so friendly. They are from Thailand and travel there often and their food tastes just how my mama makes it! It's refreshing since there aren't many good Thai places in Medford that their food isn't tailored to the "American" taste buds. It's as simple as this, some Thai food is just an acquired taste. If you didn't like something it's probably because it's not like something you have had before. I grew up eating Laos/Thai food my entire life. This is as close as you are going to get to it in Medford. This place is excellent! It's a little hole in the wall gem!

Excellent food and sweet staff. This is our favorite Thai restaurant for sure. Don't miss the chicken coconut soup and green curry or the red curry or the chicken satay.

The owner is very friendly, however, the food doesn't taste authentic. We had green and red curry, and the coconut sauce in both dishes are way too salty.

Service is nice. Food is pretty nice. But the restaurant environment is too old. Remodel can be a good choice for sales improvement .

After searching for a Thai restaurant that was open before 5pm on a Saturday, we finally found Siam Cafe in the directory. My friend and I spent more than a month in Thailand a few years ago and the food that we ordered tasted exactly like the fresh dishes we learned to cook while in Chiang Mai. The Thai iced tea started the meal with its usual creamy goodness followed by the usual Pad Thai (the dish I judge all Thai restaurants by), green curry eggplant and kai koom (flat noodles, chicken, vegetables and spices). Each dish suited our levels of spice tolerance perfectly as well as our taste buds. The prices were also very reasonable and the service was super friendly and efficient. Parking was limited as was the seating; however, we arrived during the slow period so there were plenty of places to sit when we arrived.

Finally got over to Siam Cafe after a lot of driving by and being like, "Oh, we need to try that place." We were pleasantly surprised. The building is a little run down and often doesn't look open but the wait staff is warm and friendly and it really has a homely vibe; and I mean that in the nicest possible way. The menu was really large and clear and the huge vegetarian section is what will keep us coming back. I got the pad thai with chicken and the vegetarian spring rolls to share. My boyfriend got the green curry with tofu- extra spicy. The pad thai was great. I love pad thai. I really do. It was made with much smaller noodles than most people around here and I really enjoyed that. It also had lots of peanuts, cabbage, carrots, sprouts, and green onions which brought out the flavors of the peanut sauce. It was cooked perfectly and the portion was large enough that I had to take some home but not too large that any quality was sacrificed. The green curry was good, my boyfriend gave it a 6/10 which is the best green curry he has had in the valley to date. It was really spicy and the variety of vegetables was both beautiful and fresh- you can tell they shop for their ingredients with the dishes in mind. I think it lost points for not giving him the option of brown rice- which we try to stick to. But again, the portion was big but not too big. The only reason this restaurant doesn't get 5 stars is because the atmosphere was a little lacking... there was a big ant on the wall next to our table and the ceiling looked like it needed to be replaced. But we'll be back, sooner than later.

I'm really fond of this place and the nice people who run it. Simple, affordable, tasty. I like the eggplant green curry very much, also the pumpkin curry in season, and the coconut soups. Also (unexpected favorite) the Wonton soup which I never thought to order, was a favorite of a friend of mine, I used to get her one every week while she was sick, clear tasting simple broth, comfort food without being heavy! Everything served with a dose of joy.
