Lime roll is good, Asia roll is great! One of the best sushi restaurant I've ever had,I be back next time.

Delicious! Sat at the sushi bar. Loved the tuna nigiri. Nice atmosphere... Nice staff. Warm ambience.

The fish is fresh and colorful but maybe I'm just used to California sushi. The service was good and they were there every time we needed something. When I did not like about the sushi was that anything spicy they used chili oil which is not my preference. I also did not like the texture of rice. It was a little too hard for me. I got a salmon hand roll, miso soup, sashimi salad, and a spicy scallop roll. I also shared a spicy tuna roll and had a bite of a delicious Harry Potter roll.

This place is a good one! Sushi is fresh and excellent. Have been here a few times and like it every time. They bring you edamame on the house which is nice. They have delicious and unique sushi rolls. Service is good, pleasant atmosphere and moderate prices. Street parking, but easy to find. Great outdoor seating. Like this place. We have realized that getting the food to go is not good. It just is no Cas good. Don't know why it just loses that freshness.

So... I have to downgrade the stars for my updated review. Man, I don't know what's wrong with them, but they cannot hire a good server. I've been eating there for a long time and have seen the servers come and go. The service seems to get worse every visit. So, I met my friend on Valentine's evening (sure, it was busy)... but, the server was obnoxious. He kept harassing us for our order when we clearly weren't ready to order. I felt like he was trying to pull a wham, bam, thank you, ma'am. After we ordered, my meal came first. We waited and waited. About 10 minutes later, our APPETIZER came out. My soup was already lukewarm. More time passed. About 20 minutes later, the server came by and said, "you guys cool?" Um, no, we're not cool. Where is my friend's entree?! He looked dumbfounded and said, "Oh. What did you order?" Huh. By the time she got her food, mine was cold. Because who wants to eat hot soup anyway? So then, as if that weren't bad enough, during the middle of the meal, he REACHES over our table to the table beside us. WHAT? He put his arm through our table to another table. Are you seriously that lazy that you can't take four steps to the side to access them? We were appalled. We couldn't believe it. Anyway, we stayed to chat after our meal and of course our dishes were never taken away. He constantly battered us with "are you cool?" in an obvious attempt to rush us out. Erg. Frustrating. This is not the only time this has happened. I've been in there before where I watched a couple only receive one entree and FINISH without the other entree even coming out. They were much more vocal about it and caused quite the scene. The restaurant tried to make up for it by comping the meal that never came and wrapping it up in a to-go box, but the couple refused to take it and swore that they'd never be back. Bummer. Also, a recent issue I've had is that lately, some of the things aren't so clean. For example, my soup spoon had something really sticky on it. Almost as if a label had just been ripped off of it and the glue hadn't been completely removed. It was weird and gross, but I was afraid to say anything because, I mean, who knows what the server would've done. Another time, I practically had to peel my menu apart. The pages were stuck together with some sauce. It'd be nice if they had clean utensils and wiped down the menus. I'm not sure what the issue is, but their system obviously needs a little more structure. Not to mention, more professional servers. I do stand by my first statement. Their food is good. I like it a lot. Love their spicy ramen and sushi. I just wish the service would match their food.

Nice place. But not for large groups. Maximum 4 per group. Larger groups can be tight fit. Excellent sashimi and sushi. Great Korean entrees. My favorite is Korean chirashi and spicy tofu soup.

Ehhhh. Well see it's Friday, and theres only 3 of us at work. So we decided to order in Lunch. So we decided some Sushi would sound good. And from what I've heard Misoya's is pretty tasty. So we call in our order and they say it will be ready in 15 minutes. So one guy goes over to pick it up. Well we're trying to figure out whos is who... and we realize that instead of 2 rolls of one thing we ordered they gave us 2 of another... and not only that the two we ordered were $12 rolls... we got some like $7 roll. With that said the roll we did get in the first bite was tasty. But after that I just noticed how it was drenched in mayonnaise. ick... The rick was super sticky so you'd lose like 1/4 of the roll cause it would stick to the plate. I'll probably give this place a try again, but... might be a while.

Food was decent- had some sushi and some ramen- nothing out of this world but certainly not bad. Service? Abysmal. Waitress took over 10 min to come say hi, apologized for it, didn't pick up on my comment of "we'll accept free dessert" and continued to be horrible. Painfully slow, did not pick up dirty plates, took another 15 min to come pick up my credit card after finally getting a bill- which included no adjustments for the poor service. Would not come back.

  • Irene S.

This is a must not an approval to go to, waiting time will take you forever. Not satisfied with waiter. This a worst ever place cuz it will take your time wasted. Then food will served you in a wrong order. A lady owner is very mean, and arrogant way her was so sarcastic. Must "No" for a service. Owner sees you like a poor bastard, this is only my experience.

I had originally wrote a pretty good review, but I will NO LONGER RECOMMEND this restaurant. We ate here tonight and were extremely disappointed. They messed up our simple order and never brought us half our food, which included an appetizer and two people's dinner. The two plates they did bring us were incomplete, we had to chase down our sides of rice! We ended up leaving having been there an hour and still had not received the rest of our food. The waitress wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to care that she'd ruined our dinner. We will definitely never return here. There was a new waiter/bus boy and did a good job for us. P.S. I've was a waitress for years before getting into the medical field, I know it can be tough. But, these gals simply lack the work ethic that it takes to do the job.

Used to be a great restaurant. Recently went in and had a Vegas roll and they forgot the cream cheese so I asked about it and the waitress told me I was wrong then came back with the check and said that it actually was supposed to have cream cheese and didn't offer to discount it or anything. Their hot tea tastes like sea water. Rolls aren't made as well as they used to be, inconsistent all around.

The sushi was very good and the ONLY reason I gave this place 2 stars. Don't TOUCH the Korean food on the menu... it is not even eatable! YUCK! The service was the worst I have ever had! They forgot many of our items that we ordered and we had to stop another waitress just to get our water refilled. Our waitress had a VERY bad attitude. Out of all the places in Medford... this is the worst we have gone to. I made a yelp account just to rate this place and warn people away from it. Yes.. it was that bad!

Great food and service! I go here at least twice a month and it is fantastic every time. Every time me and my lady go there John always goes out of his way to help us. Thank you again for every time you have served us, John. Highly recommend stopping by if your a fan of sushi, or they have plenty of other options if you aren't into sushi.

We have enjoyed their food every time we are in medford. Rice is cooked perfect for sushi and other Asian foods which is very important.. They have the best sushi, Korean foods around in so. Oregon. Honest opinion from issei .....

Great service and great food! The decor was wonderful and our servers were very friendly. Our meal came with complimentary Edamame which was a plus. I would definitely recommend Misoya!

First time in Medford and was looking for a places that is open late. This place closes at 12, the reviews looked good, so why not? For a Saturday night at 10:30, the places wasn't very full. Once we were seated, the waitress was very attentive and willing to answer any questions we might have. While we looked at the menu she brought us some water. My girlfriend got the udon and deep fried California roll. I got the bulgogi with two scoops of rice. Food was delicious, Service was attentive. Minus one star because they didn't tell me that they ran out of white rice til after they brought me two scoops of organic black rice and I had to ask them why they brought me that. Other than that, I would definitely come again. They got a huge menu.

Loved this quaint bistro. The sushi was amazing, the wine pours large. I was visiting from Orange County, but I hope to return someday. Thank you Misoya for a wonderful experience.

Located across the alley from the Craterian Theater, this place is very busy on the evenings there is a performance. If you are going to the show, make reservations and plan on at least an hour & 1/4 for your meal. Even though the bistro has nearly doubled its indoor seating it will be crowded. Service will be slow but the food is very good. I had a particularly good bento with salmon. The fish was cooked just right and was FRESH.

Had dinner tonight service was terrible ordered a beer they forgot ordered sashimi it came as nigiri ordered a crazy boy without salad if had a huge salad nothing had those cool orange eggs on top plus the restaurant was dead on sat night 8 pm oh yah it cost $75 oh well time to move on to a new favorite place I'm thinking almost seems like they lost there edge really don't care anymore sucks

This place has some of the better sushi in town. Their combination fried rice is delicious... they also have a few other good dishes. They are a bit clumsy with taking orders down. Also, it's probably the most expensive sushi place. In my opinion, it's a bit over-priced. If you eat here, you probably won't be disappointed by the food. UPDATE: 6/21/14 Downgraded to 1 Star. Came here tonight and had a bad experience. Let me make one thing clear, there was a new fella working tonight and he did a good job. HOWEVER, the waitresses gave us terrible service. 1/2 our food never came out to us. When we asked about it, all we got was a smartass remark about how the cook was taking his time. Not to mention, they sat in the dining area eating subway while we waited. Finally after having been there almost an hour, we gave up, asked for the check and left. The waitress couldn't care any less about the mishap. I have a very large family, we spend a lot or money eating at this place, but we will NEVER come back here again. We expect more from a restaurant, so we will got to another sushi spot. Do NOT Recommend.

Fantastic, again. This is my second time at Misoya. My family got a handful of dishes and shared everything. Tempura shrimp and veggies are amazing - I would highly recommend them. Loved the potstickers. We also got teriyaki chicken, which was fantastic too.

My wife and I were attending a concert at the Craterian Theater last night. We were celebrating our anniversary as well. Being Sushi connoisseurs we looked for a Sushi restaurant close by the Craterian. We found Misoya on Yelp and figured it was worth a try as it was throwing distance to the Theater. What a pleasent surprise. We had our usual array of Sushi along with a couple of their special rolls. The Harry Potter Roll was awesome to say the least. We had a variety of different fish. It was very fresh and prepared perfectly. The service was over the top. Amber and Cheyanne were very friendly and made us feel as though we were being served by familly. Needless to say we will be back soon. Show or not. Its worth the 25 minute drive for us from up here on the ranch.

Really surprised to find such great Sushi in such a small town. I ordered the sunset and spicy Cali. Highly recommend both! Quick service and a really nice sushi bar. Plus Matthew Lillard's doppelgänger works here.

Terrible service, food was pretty good but not worth the horrific service we received here. We really wanted to like this place, since the atmosphere was really nice(at first glance) We waited a while before the waitress even brought us water. We had to get our own menus while the staff watched us contemptuously, looking around for over ten minutes. Weird...And the place wasn't very busy, maybe two or three tables. I am a waitress and have been for over ten years, and I know when another waitress just blatantly doesn't care about her service. She did ask us how we were doing but didn't stop, just kept walking past as she asked us this...The server left before we finished our meal, so obviously wasn't concerned about receiving a tip. She forgot to bring the one thing I asked for. It felt like by being there we were putting them out...that's not the feeling one should get when they go out to eat. A suggestion for this restaurant: train your staff to be nicer, attentive to their customers needs. It is severely lacking in this regard. Otherwise the food is good, but we will not be back.

Excellent Sushi! Our boys(12 & 9) love the chicken bento. By far my favorite in Medford! The service is pretty bad. They are SO SLOW. We were in for a late dinner & our server completely forgot our son's food, also the serving etiquette is terrible- walk around the table to serve when needed! We will continue to eat their sushi, but it may be take out.

So disappointed - last Fri. I went in to have lunch and placed a to-go order for later. When I opened up the boxes at the hotel where we were celebrating my husband's birthday that night, the main dish was missing!! A combination plate with sashimi and rolls wasn't even in the bag, even tho I'd paid for it!! On top of that the service was very slow, twice I got up to look for someone to help me. I'll never go back.

Went here today at lunch because it is close to campus. I was basically unimpressed with the food. My rolls fell apart, my edamame was cold(not sure if that's the traditional way to serve it but it's not good). Service was good, the young man working there I recognized from the organic natural cafe as the very nice young man who worked in the kitchen! He was sooo nice! I was very glad to see him there! The guy behind the sushi bar was kind of straightforward and harsh, but maybe he didn't understand me? The ambiance was for sure awesome! Very nice looking place!

If I'm going to be brutally honest, I was not expecting to find good sushi in Oregon. My husband and i just moved here from Hawaii three weeks ago and I thought I would have to give up raw fish because of it. Needless to say, I was a little scared to try sushi in this state but I definitely needed to prove myself wrong. This was the first, and so far only sushi place we've been to so far. I see no need for me to find another sushi place either because I love so many menu items from this place! Just in the three weeks my husband and I have been here, we've come to Misoya several times. Things we love: the bento box, Red Dragon Roll, spanish roll, house salad, pear and plum wine choices, and several other items. I love that they have a wide variety of dishes. Lots of Korean and Japanese influences on the menu. When I saw ramen and noodle dishes I knew they would have more than a standard sushi place. They have outdoor and indoor seating, but we usually sit at the sushi bar. For some reason I'm always freezing cold in there too! The atmosphere and attire are casual and the prices are pretty average. I did find a few spelling errors on the menu... just saying. I love this place and I know it will be a regular stop for my husband and I.

My parents and I stopped by Medford on our way up to Portland. The front desk concierge told us to try this place if we liked sushi so we did. It was over 100 degrees and it looks like they are trying to expand. It was had to find the front door and the guy doing construction told us to go through thee back alley. Strange! We walked inside, we're not greeted by anyone and stood around until finally this blond chick in glasses noticed us. As a side not she just had a couple get up and walk out past us because they were being ignored. It's was not the way I wanted to start my dinner and to top it all off due to the construction, I'm pretty sure the air was out. This was the second not so good sign within a 5 minute period. We were finally seated and ordered. The waitress was very brass and not to helpful with suggestions. My mom and I split 3 rolls. I forget the names but the BSC will scallops was pretty good. My dad got the chicken bento box. This is the first place I have ever know of that does not serve miso soup with a bento box. Minus the hotness and difficulty getting into the restaurant, the food was pretty good. A little pricey but I'm used to the higher sushi prices in SD. We won't be back but I'm sure this place has some real potential after the remodel.

Amazing bi bim bop and sushi. Poor service on craterian nights. While very nice about it the have been horribly understaffed the last two times I've gone

Wonderful place to it. The atmosphere was very good and the service was on point. They did mess up my sushi order of salmon skin roll but I got a salad instead and it was great haha. One of the better sushi places in medford that I've been too

  • Masil M.

I eat here at least once every time I am in Medford. It is a Korean-family owned sushi restaurant so they have a pretty extensive Korean menu in addition to sushi and Japanese food. Their bibimbap is my favorite. I'm not the best opinion for sushi as I don't eat too many of the raw rolls, but the rolls I have had have all been good. The service is good. I've had the same server and she's really nice and attentive, but honestly feel that she could know a little more about the things they serve there. I find the prices to be pretty reasonable, certainly much cheaper than I am used to paying. The quality does not suffer for the lesser expense. I'll definitely keep coming back here as long as I have to keep coming back to Medford.

Bugsy says "Damn Straight!". Clean, cute, tasty, authentic. Great service. Accommodating. You almost start to think you aren't in Medford--good enough to take you away and transport you to a little nook somewhere in a big city. The patio is fab. Bi Bim Bap... Like Be Bop. Swinging! Miso...perfecto. Edamame...yum-a, yum-a. Go. And eat. 5-Stars from Bugsy. Update: From 5 to 1 star after multiple, horrible, inconceivable bad service issues. While the food remains excellent, the rotating staff and turnover indicate the owners are not doing something right...and its impacting customers. The owner woman at night showed no concern over my issues after being such a loyal customer. Will not return anytime soon.

Been here twice and I can say i will not be back so i will go ahead with a review. Laying out what i like, this place has a great atmosphere outside. There is a variety of asian dishes leaning toward japanese and korean. It's different than any other place in town and I applaud their effort. Its potential to be a good spot, however falls short. First on price. The place put plainly is overpriced for what it is. The restaurant tries to cater to the higher end of the asian market but offers little that stands out. There's not a lot to the particular dishes. Everything i have tried or ordered was less than great and can be had for much less elsewhere in town, often with better flavor. Even the sushi was average. But our second visit, last night was an awful experience. We ended up scrambling to get out of there. Flies swarming, horrible service, and mediocre overpriced food were to blame. I'm trying not to be mean. It takes a very high level of understanding to be a server. There were so many things that she struggled with...sigh...nuff said.

  • Spencer T.

Worst service ever!!! Once we ordered it took over an hour for them to bring us our food...people who came in 30 minutes after we did had their food before us..My date ordered wine and they brought her something different than what she ordered. When we told the server it wasn't what she had ordered she just rolled her eyes...no apology or anything. When our food finally arrived it was very mediocre for the price and time spent waiting. I will not dine here again.

As a visitor from Seattle I'm probably too tough of a judge of sushi. But I have to say this place exceeded my expectations for a non-coastal city. We decided to skip the nigiri for lunch and ordered three large rolls to share. They were so beautiful I took a photo and share on Facebook (yes, I'm the person who posts vacation photos of food). We enjoyed all three, which were imaginative combinations with fresh fish, but most important, good rice. We were pleasantly full when we left, on our way to taste wine. In Seattle this might have been 4 stars, but kudos to Misoya for a charming restaurant with good sushi. We'll be back next year.

This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Medford. The udon I had was great. The flavor of the broth was complex and similar to a rich pho. The servers were friendly and the prices were reasonable. From what I could see, the sushi looked really good too. If you're seeing a show at the Craterian, this would be a good spot to go since it's right next to it.

I thought the service was OK. The food is terrific! I can't wait to go back. Try their bi beem bop!!!

It can be hard to find good sushi here in S. Ore. Misoya Bistro has a large menu with both cooked Japanese and raw sushi and sashimi plates. The prices are average to high for sushi in the valley, $12 for a roll, but the portions are good and the fish is fresh and tasty. We have been here twice so far, both times very good. The last time we split a bento box (chicken teriyaki with rice, salad, california roll, gyoza) and also ordered a couple of rolls. The gyoza was the best I have had in a long, long time. The chicken teriyaki was good, not great. The sushi rolls were very good. They bring out complimentary edemame to start and finish up with complimentary fresh orange. Service is decent. We have only sat on the patio, but will be heading back again and continue to try new things on the menu.

With the demise of Lee's Korean in Ashland, I had to give Misoya another look since I love Korean food. Well, last night we gave them the chance to wow us. I have to say that we will now be dining there much more often. My wife's Bi bim Bap still came out like 10 minutes before my Spicy Pork, and my wife's Miso soup did not have any bonito. She is a good critic on Miso since she has been preparing it for many years. However, my Korean Spicy Pork was quite tasty and the Bi Bim Bap was pretty good too. Since they are now the only game in town for Korean food--and a lot closer to us than Lee's for travel time-- We are now fans.

My fiance' and I eat here about once a month. The food always tastes fresh and is plated very nicely. I like that there is outdoor seating in the summer. They also have a good variety between prices for sushi rolls. We always get a couple rolls and a hot dish to share. Delicious!

This place was great. The food was very good, you must try the cheesy wontons! I went with my son for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the great menu. The rolls were very tasty and we'll put together. I would definitely go here again

Reading the reviews suggests that all the positive comments are about sushi, while all the negative comments are about everything else. Unfortunately, since this restaurant presents itself as an Asian Fusion and not just a Sushi Bar, it earns only 2 stars, since there are only 2 positive things that I can say about it: + Green tea was good. + Bulgogi was average. The rest of our experience was very disappointing: - The service was terribly slow. It took the waitress 15 minutes to take our order (there were only 10 people in the restaurant). When she brought the sizzling bulgogi, the oil splattered not only all over the table (and into my tea), but also over me. No comment from her. - Edamame was over-salted. - Soft Tofu soup had no broth, only under-salted, over-peppered water. - Deep-fried tofu wasn't salted. Unsalted tofu, really? - Tempura was over-fried and too oily. Instead of the tentsuyu dipping sauce, it came with... *drumroll* teriyaki sauce. That was weird. I'm mostly sad that I spent so much time and money on such a disappointing restaurant.

I eat sushi all the time, 2-3 times a week. So when i was passing through medford on my way to California to start a week long trip, we meet up with friends and we go to the only sushi place open past 9pm. I ordered salmon, i was the only person in my group that ate salmon, and became VIOLENTLY ILL AFTER EATING HERE! Several hours after around 2am i woke up sick as a dog! Everybody else in my group was fine. i stayed up all night vomiting and then some. I called the next day to inform them i became sick, and the head sushi chef told me they would refund my card, and i gave him the last four digits, so i figured he would refund my money. a few hours later a women with a thick accent calls me and tells me to come in and then go to hospital, i told her i was in Sacramento now and was traveling for the week. What a way to start a week long trip! She argued with me and i tried explaining how i was the only one sick and i had spent the night vomiting everything out, i was empty! She tried to argue with me and i just hung up, i couldn't understand her. A month goes by and i notice my card was charged from them anyway, i call and ask why i did not recieve i refund, and when i called they argued with me and said the chef doesnt have the authority, so he lied to me. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE, I WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!

I would advise you not to ever dine at this restaurant. My friend and I went last night and though we ordered at the same time, they only put my friends order in, so when her's arrived, mine hadn't even started being prepared. So we ate separately. (there were no other customers in the restaurant, inexcusable) When my food finally did arrive, the chicken was undercooked and completely inedible, (I felt a stomach ache from the gross chewy texture after two bites). In addition, the soy sauce container on the table was empty, the tea was cold, the owner and the sushi chef were having a very loud, distracting, unprofessional argument during the duration of our meal (which unfortunately lasted much to long due to the fact that our food arrived at completely different times.) I didn't touch mine, and when i mentioned that my chicken was undercooked, an apology was brought with the check. No comp, no offer to made amends, That was it. Absolutely terrible experience all around. Being from portland, the only thing I had to based my decision to go there on were all these five star yelp ratings. Had to warn you guys, do not eat here.

The first time I went with my granddaughter the service was slow and I finally received my dinner when she was finished with hers. The second time I tried this place I had called for reservations which I was told was fine, when we arrived we were told they were not suppose to take reservations and it would be about 5 min, well 45 min later we were still standing outside(with a baby) and there were empty tables both in side and out side, we had checked several times about the wait and were told just a couple more minutes. We finally just left and went to Ohs Osaka across the street, and Them I recommend!

Best sushi I've ever had!! The food is really good and has stuff you can't get anywhere else in the valley! The service is generally slow and we've had a waitress completely forget about us once. I can't dock stars, though, as I cannot express how happy I am to find a sushi place this good here!

My new favorite Sushi/Japanese place in Southern Oregon. This place is great, delicious food and open late on Friday and Saturday nights! My favorite date night spot! The food is fresh. The miso is perfect. The kimchi is hot and spicy and freshly prepared. I love the atmosphere, especially this summer with the patio. The staff is really friendly and funny. It's just a great place and I hope it does well.

Brother and sister in law who used to live here said there were no good places to eat in Medford so I was pleasantly surprised. Service was great, the place was nice and clean and the food was EXCELLENT!

Good food, interesting menu, bad service, probably won't return. My friends and I, three of us all told, found the food prepared well, but the service was downright awful. The wait staff, when present, was forgetful, negligent and bordering on rude. Our waitress did not refill drinks without us requesting, she messed up another tables order, and the coup de gras was when she plucked the soy sauce off of our table without even acknowledging our presence; all the while, we had been waiting to receive our check for over twenty minutes.

Horrible! I wasted about$ 30 on the six bucks worth of sushi,!,!,! The chicken bento box was better,.....don't get the beef bento small shreds of meat,....never going back plus they never asked if the food was ok...cuz I would of told them!

Very tasty. Right in the theater district, this place was adorable. The food was SO GOOD! We ordered bulgogi and split it. It was more than enough for both of us but we weren't super hungry to begin with. The atmosphere is casual and the place a is a little small but it's so cute and there is romantic outdoor seating if you prefer it. I only wish I was hungry so I could order more things. Everything was delicious, the salad, the bulgogi, the tempura, the asparagus! EVERYTHING! Num! As we were about to leave the table behind us was served their dishes and they smelt SO GOOD! I can only assume they ordered soup or noodle dishes but the smell was so intoxicating I almost sat back down!

Great Asian bistro feel, small and warm. Great prices and a unique but familiar menu. The service was fast & friendly. The sushi was good could be a little more spicy on the items that indicate spicy. We will return to try a new menu item.

The food was good but the service sucked. The lady hardly spoke english and kept trying to get me to order the more expensive sushi roll.

Took a while to find this place, but it was worth it. Far better than EVERY SINGLE OTHER PLACE I have tried from Redding to Grants Pass. Originally form LA- where there is FANTASTIC sushi- I have been on a SUSHI QUEST trying out every place within a 2 hour drive from Yreka (the equivalent of the Sahara Desert when it comes to quality food). I'm not totally done yet, but this place tops the list so far. I had great service - plenty of water! LOL. Sushi came our spaced perfectly. The rolls were generously sized, well made and the fish very fresh. Had the Red Dragon,, TNT, Dragon rolls & CSRT. When they say spicy- they mean it. I love spicy, so this is a good thing! Didn't care for the CSRT - wouldn't order it again. The miso was spot on. Can't wait to go back & try some more.

Although they don't have a large selection of rolls, it's still a place I'd go back to. The Spanish Roll is delicious!

i already knew going to a sushi place in medford, OR was risky, and they wouldn't have anything beyond what gringo's and haole's eat (spicy tuna this, tempura shrimp that), but we thought we'd give them a chance. we walked into the door, and had to wait quite a bit for the ONE waitress to seat us. once she did, she gave us menus and TOOK off. glancing at the menu we soon realized they didn't have much of anything authentic. she came back and gave us waters, then took off again. never once asked if we wanted anything to drink. we ended up just ordering appetizers when we finally were asked what we wanted. they brought our dishes, then TOOK off again, without asking if we needed anything else. which would have been nice considering my agedashi tofu came with teriyaki sauce. YUCK! where is the normal sauce it's supposed to come with? who dips fried tofu in teriyaki sauce? so, never had a chance to ask for at least ponzu sauce...because before we knew it our bill was tossed on the table. no tip for this place...service was the worst we've ever experienced.

Once a year we pass through Medford and have eaten here three times so far. Service is fine, food is very good. I suppose we've been fortunate not to have a wait, or slow service, or illness-inducing food, as described in some of the other reviews. I would come back again. There used to be outdoor seating, but they're remodeling to increase floorspace.

Visited today. Only patrons in restaurant although 3 staff ate over the course of our meal). Fair sushi (what we went for, because Wasabe was closed today). Inconsistent sizes. One roll had slices that were the size of a hacky sack ball and one had slices that were the diameter of a tennis ball. Kinda hard to get in your mouth. Miso was watery/watered down, so it lacked much flavor. The staff were friendly and took good care of us, but also expected us to say how good it was, which it really wasn't. Prices were fine. Decor was fine. Chairs were comfortable. Restroom was clean. The chef did want to please us, which was nice. Might try it again, might not.

Very good rolls (we ordered a variety of the standard sushis and sashimis) and a great price, just slooooow and not very attentive service. When they did come by though, they were very friendly. Rolls came out as they were prepared, but the miso didn't come until we reminded the waitress, and that was after the first round had already been cleared. Great location and look forward to going back, especially in the summer on the patio.

If you like ants in your food this is where you should go! Worst sushi in Medford and the service is below average.

Been there 5 times - excellent each time. Stylish atmosphere, excellent, friendly service and excellent Japanese food. The Bento box for lunch is particularly good, so much so that we haven't tried much else. Because of that I only posted 4 stars until we try more menu items. The negative reviews, however, surprised us. They are not what we have experienced.

The food is phenominal. They are excellent not only at sushi preparation but at sushi etiquette, by preparing one plate at a time. This way , you don't have to wait for your entire order and can get started immeidately. The only problem with the restaurant is the loud music. I am not sure why they always have it on so loud and it's usually Korean rap. It certainly doesn't do well for a nice relaxing ambiance. This is the reason I took off a star.

I happened upon this place while on a trip down to SF and I am SO glad I did! I got a hot green tea, miso soup and a veggie teriyaki bento box. It was all delicious! They also gave me free edamame which may have been because they're new. There was a ton of tasty food with fresh, crunchy veggies, serve by a lovely waitstaff. I'll definitely come back on the drive back.

I just relocated back to Medford after a 10 year break, and I am not going to lie, I had no idea what to expect as far as restaurants down here. However, I just left a city that had ZERO places to get bento (chicken and rice, guys, not that hard!) so it was a pleasant surprise to find a plethora of bento available to me here. I have been to Misoya no less than five times now. I am working in the immediate vicinity, so it makes it a top contender for lunchtime. The ONLY thing I have ever ordered is their chicken bento box, and for everything you get, the price sits just fine with me. For $9.95 (no tax, hooray!) you get a healthy portion of chicken, rice, California roll, delicious salad and gyoza. Every time I have ordered this, the food has been SPOT ON delicious. The service varies, from very attentive to minimally attentive, but I haven't experienced any flat out bad customer service. Lucky for me I like this place, because it would be a damn shame if I was working right next door to a place that sucked. They've won my business.

Honestly, when I go to a restaurant, I don't expect extraordinary receptions, just fair service for me is enough. So I won't spend my time reviewing about this topic, even though I was satisfied with the service at Misoya. I eat sushi and Asian food frequently, therefore I had some expectations about the food when I came here for the first time. I ordered the chicken bento box and my partner ordered two sushi rolls - spicy yellowtail and spider roll. All the food was very tasty and fresh that everytime I come back to this place I order the same thing. I don't know why, but it was so good the first time I don't want to try something different!!!!!

The food is pretty good, nothing amazing but I do enjoy the sushi rolls. The service, however, is a mixed bag. We've had some great service at times but generally they seem understaffed with servers rushing and forgetting portions of the order. If service isn't important to you, then you won't be disappointed!

I thought it would be impossible to find high end Korean/Japanese food. somehow they pulled it off. The Kalbi was great and well marinated and they managed to split a mochi ice cream dish so I didn't feel gay sharing it with a co - worker

In spite of the glowing reviews of this place, I can't say we enjoyed our visit here. And considering how beloved this place is by Yelpers, it does make me wonder if I caught Misoya at a bad time. Problems? From the outset, we didn't at all feel the friendly welcome several others have noted. The feeling we sensed was almost as though we were bothering them -- although it was far from busy on an early Saturday afternoon and they were well-staffed. Nonetheless, we were seated -- at a table in line with the afternoon sun. Given the host's reluctance to engage us to that point, we chose to get up and switch tables to the one next to it. Faux pas? I suppose. We would've gladly waited for her, but again, she had failed to acknowledge us in the 10 minutes since she sat us. You can ignore idiosyncrasies in the waitstaff, of course. Sometimes someone's just a little off on their game, so you don't take it to heart. Assuming the food was going to be stellar, you'd be happy with that. As you can probably guess, it wasn't. Bulgogi? I mean it was fine. Not terrible. But for $15? I want something exponentially better than "not terrible." The wife had chicken yakisoba. Same fate befell her dish. Fine, not terrible. And again, at $11, disappointing. Our total bill -- including drinks and appetizer -- with tip hit the $40 range. That's just nuts. Pine nuts. Brazil nuts. Admittedly, I've been spoiled -- most of my life I've lived in LA and SF, where delicious Korean/Japanese/Chinese/Thai food isn't nearly as expensive and hard to find as it is here. But $40+ for mediocre Asian cuisine? That's highway robbery. And it cements my perception that good, inexpensive Asian cuisine is pretty much impossible to find in the greater northwest -- so you can forget about finding it in Medford.

I've eaten here probably ten times total. Previous visits were great, the food always delicious, but the service always slow. The last time I was there will be THE last time. There were 4 of us having dinner and we all filled out a separate sheet with our sushi selections. About half of the food never showed up and as we kept waiting and waiting we decide to go ask. The staff pretty much argued with us, saying no, we didn't order more, we were given everything ordered. We were still hungry and wanted our food! We ended up too pissed off to continue talking to them, we paid and left and picked up more food elsewhere.

Really good food. Girlfriend doesn't like sushi, but likes cooked Japanese. I ordered Teriyaki chicken & this was really good. BUT, next time I'm here, I'm gonna order the sushi. I got to see the sushi chefs prep a huge sushi boat while waiting & it really looked great. Clean place. Nice staff. Of course, we would return.

The food was delicious! The service, however, was disappointing, We had a rainbow roll, Mongolian beef, and beef yakisoba. Servers came and went, we felt very ignored.

I have to update my review as it's been awhile. My feelings have deeply changed for Misoya for a few reasons. First off, I still think they make really good sushi and I love their yakisoba noodle stir fry... sometimes. And that's just it: this place is 100% inconsistent. Nothing tastes the same twice anymore and that's a big problem for a restaurant to have. The other issue is this place has the WORST SERVICE IN THE VALLEY. The owner is such a nasty, awful lady! If you try to voice a complaint, she just sneers at you. No apologies ever, and god forbid they give you a credit on your bill after they've ruined your whole meal and gotten the entire order wrong. The service is usually non-existant. I can't tell you how many times we have sat waiting... and waiting... and, oh yes, still waiting. There is never an explanation. Then the servers take your order and disappear. Sometimes you get edamame to start with, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you get a cold cut orange at the end, sometimes you don't. This place is so horribly mismanaged that it has ruined what was once really delicious cuisine. It's gotten so bad that we basically never go here anymore because we always walk out in a fit of rage after being treated so badly. We go elsewhere for sushi and noodles now and it's a shame.

I hadn't come into misoya in awhile due to lack of service. But a couple nights ago my family and I came back to give it another shot. I had an amazing server tyler. He was funny and made us enjoy our time there. He even paid attention to my kids making them laugh. Not many servers are like that. Now that he works there I will come back all the time as long as he is my server. The food was also fantastic we enjoyed the spider roll and the amber roll. Outstanding!!! My family and I will definitely be back. Great job tyler keep up the good work!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
