First time eating at Kid Arcos! The good has flavor! Great portion and good prices. I would give them a try.

Los Arcos has the best Taco Salad in Medford. I have tried them all. I suggest that you order it with steak and no deep fried shell. You will really enjoy it!

Wow these folks know how to cook. I would highly recommend this place to those that know Mexican food. Not much for atmosphere but they well make it up in quality. When in Medford don't miss this place.

Not what you'd expect tucked away in an industrial park area. Let's just start by saying, this place is SUPER easy to miss. It's tucked away back on Sage road inbetween all the warehouses and mills. It's easy to see from the road if you are looking for it though. The staff was SUPER friendly. Gave us time to look without pushing us. If you are looking to Tex-Mex or the usual american style Mexican food this is not your place. While its not the same as what you would find in Mexico its the next best thing. The guy taking the order was more than willing to make a combination plate that was not on the menu if I wanted to try a couple different things. The Tamale I had was made with some pretty tasty masa. It was a little dry but overall everything was pretty good! We ended up staying till about 7:40 even though we closed at 7, we didn't even notice and they didn't try to push us out the door! Needless to say I'm very glad to have found this place and stopped by.

We live in Ashland, but when craving a good burrito, Medford is our preferred locale. We've been visiting Los Arcos since their initial opening. Years later, we still rely on them for consistently delicious Mexican food. The family who owns and runs the taqueria is always friendly, attentive, and obviously puts care into what they are serving as well as their customers. While our family typically orders a round of veggie burritos (which are incredibly tasty and never lacking in quality or flavor!), there are other items on the menu I enjoy just as much. The chicken tacos are wonderfully flavored. My stepson swears by the cheese enchilada plate. The fish tacos? Dynamite! The grilled version is wonderful, but I often ask for fried fish instead (not on the menu, but worth requesting!). Their horchata is some of the best around this valley. Also, should nopales sopes ever show up on the specials board again, do yourselves a favor and order a couple! They're incredible. We are gigantic fans of Los Arcos and fully support frequenting as often as possible!

Yummy Veggie Burritos! Still love this place after all the years...it has been consistent. Great family environment and wonderful people running this joint. Top-notch Horchata which my wife enjoys. Delicious chips and fresh salsas... Great place for Medford.

Just what I needed!! I had a tortuous meeting Tim's afternoon, which took me into an hour of eye-clawing overtime, and all I could think about was a giant carne asada burrito and a margarita! Well , being new in town, I'm still figuring out the lay of the land. My co-worker recommended Los Arcos, and my husband called me during my meeting and wanted to meet up for food. Los Arcos, it is! Perfect salsa, delicious chips, and a margarita almost as big as my head! Mmmmhmmmh!

Saw the high yelp rating so drove off I-5 to give it a try. Meh. Pretty good, not great. Huge portions, a little spendy for lunch. Tried the relleno, beef enchilada and a couple of tacos. Good enough, but no compelling flavors and mild, almost bland. Not our cup of tea, don't understand the high ratings. Friendly people and nice ambience though.

Hands down best Mexican food in the valley! Freshest ingredients, clean restaurant, great service. Nothing else compares!!!

Great place. Previous reviewers are on the mark. Very fresh. The taco salad was loaded with sweet tender chicken. Guacamole must have been made this morning. The staff could not have been nicer. Whenever someone passed our table, they asked how we were doing, offered more chips. They made us feel very welcome.

Hands down best Mexican food I have ever had! Amazing food, and great staff! Would recommend to anyone!

First time at this delicious spot on New Years Day. The food was wonderful, best tamales I have found in southern Oregon. The pollo asado was very flavorful. The chips and salsa were great! Under $20 for two people. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

One word to describe this place: Overrated. This is your typical establishment that serves over-priced mediocre food. I don't get why restaurants in S. Oregon don't take more pride in their food. If this place was located in SoCal, it wouldn't last 6 months. It is NOT even as good as the WORST taqueria in LA. People that rate these terrible restaurants high, should instead, up their standards of Mexican food. There's isn't a single thing that was good about eating here. If you're going to charge over $2 for one taco, it better be delicious, which this was NOT.

I used to work right by here in a dismal industrial office park the color of 50-year-old army fatigues. Depressing setting aside, Los Arcos was the light at the end of my bleak corporate tunnel. I would escape here for lunch at least once or twice a week and breathe a huge sigh of relief as soon as I stepped through the double-doors. I was warmly greeted by a group of wonderful, friendly workers - from servers to cooks to cashiers - all of whom remembered me and my "usual" after only a couple of visits. The food is incredible and prepared lovingly by the family that owns this place - everything on the menu is divine - burritos, tacos, soups, all of it. And, they're vegetarian-friendly. So often in Southern Oregon, veggies are relegated to sad imitations of burritos, dry, warmed-over veggie burgers, or otherwise inconsiderately prepared meatless fare. Not here. The veggie burrito is THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. Like, in my entire life. And I've had veggie burritos in San Francisco, in Portland, and in New York. Nope, nope, nope. This place is the bee's knees. If you're ever in the area, stop in. What the place lacks in atmosphere (diner-style booths, knick-knacks for sale in the back), it more than makes up for in terms of deliciousness, earnestness, and all-around awesomeness.

We just ate there once, and had the standard beef and chicken enchiladas with beans and rice. I thought it was very good and had less fat then the "American style" Mexican restaurants. They don't pour melted cheese over everything and it was served more "home style". My wife didn't like it as she wants all the cheese and Colorado sauce poured all over the plate. So I guess I will sneak back for lunch by myself whenever I can! :)

I ordered the Taco Salad and was disappointed with the quantity served, but the quality was wonderful! The rice and beans and veggies were very flavorful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. The workers were nice and the decorations were colorful and gave an authentic feel. The sunflower chairs were really beautiful! I would go back if I'm ever in Medford again and want some tasty Mexican food.

  • Nancy M.

Huge disappointment. The chile verde was more fat than meat and served at a lukewarm temperature. My husband's food was also lukewarm with cheese in enchilida not even melted.

One of my favorites in Southern Oregon. Service is excellent along with speed of receiving your order. I dine here weekly and the service is always consistent.

I've been in the Medford area for three weeks, (in from Phoenix, AZ), and have been in search of some delicious, and HOT, authentic, Mexican food. Well, baby, I've found it! Fresh chips, homemade salsas, fluffy egg battered chile relleno, good quality carne asada and a fairly large, (no triple sec), margarita! It's all good -even the staff is friendly! I'll definitely be coming back!!

Best Mexican restaurant I have EVER been to. My fiance recently took me here when we were in the area. I guess his family used to go there all the time when they lived in Medford. When we walked in I saw the boards above the cashier with menu items. That kind of caught me off guard, as I am used to going in, sitting down, and looking at a menu. So, needless to say, a little change from the normal routine made me slightly uneasy. I was thinking I was going to be getting some kind of fast food, drive through style. I'm always up for trying new things, but I seriously love Mexican food and didn't want to be let down. Well, I certainly wasn't! He ordered me Sopes with chorizo and they were sooooo good! The salsa is great, the food is fresh, and the ambiance is nice. I have been there twice (I begged to go the second) and we will definitely be going back again, and again, and again.

We were on vacation back in July, ended up staying in Medford on our way to Portland. Yelped "Mexican restaurant" and found Los Arcos. The restaurant is located in an industrial park, kind of unusual, but it was worth searching out. The food and service were excellent. I have eaten Mexican food in many parts of the country (never been to Mexicofor the real deal however, unless you can count Cancun), and this was just about as good as it gets IMHO.

Good solid Mexican food. It's basically taco truck food at a sit down restaurant. My son in law (born in Mexico and raised on Mom's Mexican cooking) says this place is authentic and he really loves it. The menudo is his favorite, and I agree, it is very tasty and has lots and lots of "goodies!"

I do like the pisas here! For being in Medford its the best Mexican place around...I will be back...being from San Jose I've eaten at about 100 different Mexican places...so yes this is worth the stop. It's in a industrial location but worth the extra 5 minutes to get to.....plus a decent bar

Great Mexican food, this is the Real deal, My Mexican wife and i have been going here for more than 6 years, we have tried every Mexican restaurant in the rouge valley to find something like momma used to make. This Is the BEST Mexican food here otherwise take a trip to southern California, but you will not find any better there. The food here is quality, the place is clean, and the people are curtious. Another Really good Mexican restaurant is La Tapatia in Phoenix Or. but Los Arcos is better on most menu items and La Tapatia is better on some of there items

my new favorite for very authentic Mexican food in Medford. no cheese bombs, just very simple, classic taqueria fare. the tacos are outstanding - especially the lengua. i know. tongue is not everyone's thing, but they were delicious. worth waiting til the weekend for the awesome pozole. I'm not a fan, but the menudo looks to be a best seller. wide range of Mexican sodas and house made aguas frescas as well. very highly recommended! forget about the Si Casa Flores and the other pretenders, this is the place to find the best mexican food in the rogue valley... just wish they were open a little later as it's not often i am ready for dinner before 7.

Good Mexican food and great ambiance. Be sure to ask for the habanero salsa, gringo, because it's great - smoky, not too hot (for me, anyway). This is the best of Meford's Mexican. I went there today with a buddy, and we both left thinking about what we'd get next time. Jarritos and Mexican Fresca as well.

I can't think of anything negative. I love their food. It's like having dinner at your abuela's kitchen. My favorite is the carnitas plate and the chile rellenos are made with fresh poblanos. Delicious. It's family-run and everyone is friendly and personable. The place is clean. Flan is amazing: homemade, not from a mix.

Los Arcos is on the site of the old Ewing Family Buffet - a wonderful restaurant that went extinct several years ago. Los Arcos is keeping up the tradition, it seems - they also put out some excellent meals. I had the shrimp with garlic, one of the more expensive items on the menu. This came with rice and beans, and five corn tortillas. Portions were larger than at similar Mexican eating places - I was well-sated when I'd finished my meal. I was also well-satisfied with the items included - the rice and beans were both of good quality, the shrimps were large and abundant, and fried with mushrooms and onions. Their home-made hot sauce was tasty and distinctive. There was a big jalapeño included as well as a pickled carrot. If what I had was any indication, you can't go wrong by eating here... Later, 3/26/10 - have been back a coupla times more and yes, it's all excellent. The one thing they lack over my other Mexican favorite in Southern Oregon ( yelp.com/biz/tacos-y-pol… ) is homemade tortillas... Their menu says they have soups on weekends, but in actuality they have one or two soups most weekdays too - just ask. Their menudo is rich and good.

Excellent authentic Mexican food! It has become our favorite place to eat, hands down. Everything I have ever tried has been fresh and premium quality. They do not use lard in their cooking. There is a lot of variety and some meatless options too. The decor is comfortable and clean with plenty of seating and prompt service. We have actually used them for catering as well, and they were a delight to work with. The inconspicuous location doesn't help their visibility - I hope they make it! Losing a quality business like this would be a shame! They even have a mariachi band playing on some weekends!

I checked out Los Arcos recently after reading a rave review about their tacos. I guess I didn't feel the same. None of the ingredients tasted really fresh to me. I ordered chicken and pork tacos. I was surprised at the corn tortillas which seemed steamed, not grilled or pan heated and yet had a coating of oil on them. They didn't have a great flavor. The sauces on top lacked a fresh flavor also. I can't say they were awful, but I wasn't in love. The only thing I can think of to describe it is a lack of fresh flavor. The staff were friendly, helpful. The place reasonably clean and the service was fast and courteous.

Since it was so busy on Sunday when we decided to stop in I assumed the food was going to be really good. It's average nothing to rave about. Still looking for a really good authentic place for Mexican in Medford.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
